You ignore the rest of what I said I'm not here to bash anyone I don't care when they started playing...I drop names in a positive way or not at all, I find it rude to use the Internet to be a tough guy or to just insult people

I didn't insult anyone, nor did I act like a tough guy. Quoting someone for silly things they say, and criticizing are different than insulting them. Please learn that. You can be negative and not be insulting.

Better make every game miserable for Survivors because you had a bad experience. You know Survivors have bad games too right? There's no reason to feed into the toxicity cycle.

You gotta realize that this game has so much BS on both sides that it doesn't matter. Just know that this is what the game is and embrace it for now. Otherwise, you'll just get mad at everything.

It's not up to killers to worry if survivors are having fun. It's up to them to have fun for themselves. Just like it's up to survivors to worry about their own fun and not the killers.

Killers and survivors aren't eachothers babysitters, and that mentality where we're supposed to give a crap if the other side is having fun needs to die.

Oh I've heard him say questionable things but me saying "he is good and I can learn from him" also means I'm trying to be positive and not bash people....yes he needs a filter but if you ever do anything on camera 40 hours a week while your mind is actively doing multiple things at once, ya are gonna say things without too much thought....I'm not waving a flag for him but people bash like he is in your personal life

"When you do this for more than 40 hours a week" would be an excuse...if he hasn't been doing this since literally day one.

If that’s the case I’m about to start using all my keys to combat this mori uprising

Keys can't combat moris. You'll get mori'd before you ever get to use the key. That's the biggest reason people bring mori's in the first place. Keys and blendy's.

and yet you can depip with a 4k. There is a lot more required for killer than just "pleasing the entity by killing the survivors." Same with survivors, you can depip while repairing gens and/or escaping. Its almost like the game has no idea what its actual objectives are, and just throws a bunch of them at a wall and hopes they stick (while still somehow having zero variety to them)

There's also a lot more required of survivors than to "do generators and leave". I've depipped doing nothing but gens. You've proven nothing.

  • I know you're joking (I hope) - but in the context of DBD, it would be nonsense. With the amount of game breaking bugs (such as the stuck in healing animation bug that has existed for almost a year, that forces you to DC because even EGC doesn't kill you), or just random server disconnects etc.

We are talking about DBD here. A game that isn't nearly stable enough to have a system that will punish you for DCing even if it's not your fault.

Suiciding on hook is fine, if your team is bad. Speaking from solo queue experience. You can get chased for 3 Minutes while your team contributes nothing. Yeah, I'm out. You don't value my time, I don't value yours.

DC penaltys need to come back, just reduce the maximum timer to 30 Minutes, but keep track of how many % of played matches the player disconnected and give them a longer timeout if a certain treshhold is reached. If you DC once in a while, yeah happens, everyone has bad days where you just Alt+F4 if the games are just frustrating. If you dc every 2nd game, either check your connection or take a longer timeout.

That's where I'm at too. I mostly play killer, and I never DC as killer, but when I play survivor, I mean, I definitely get it.

I can't tell you how many times I've run a killer for a good 5-6 minutes, used maybe a couple pallets (and almost never shack pallet unless basement is in shack and it's a basement pressure killer like Trapper or Hag), no gens get done...just to see him finally switch off me and watch one of my team mates throw every pallet on the map in 2 minutes.

Yeah, nah. I'm good. They can do without my services.

Also - I tend to go beg for death if I see one of my team mates camp, and drop shack pallet in the first 30 seconds of the game, at literally the first chase. Or if I finally go on the hook to see nobody on a gen/someone self caring in a corner for 8 years. Like..just no.

Also, I'd say the maximum timer should be absolutely no more than 15 minutes, tbh. They can raise the timer when they squash the bugs in the game that literally cause people to be forcibly DC'd, or have to DC.

Wow so many people trash tru3talent but Imo he is good at this game but his personality can be over bearing but no person is perfect, if you don't like him that's your opinion not a fact I personally find him, Otz and MrGimmsYouTube to be the streamers I enjoy and learn from

Tru3ta1ent has this thing where he likes to talk about everybody else being toxic and entitled, but he can be quoted, verbatim, as saying that "all he goes against are tournament level teams". He honestly believes that. He believes he's that good (don't get me wrong, he's okay, but just okay). He literally believes that he faces nothing but 4 man tournament level sweat squads constantly. While also talking about toxicity and entitlement from everyone else.

In my opinion, nothing is more toxic OR entitled than blaming everyone else for your own screw ups, and then refusing to own up to your own #########.

You can dodge a lobby with a key. You can't dodge a lobby with a mori.

And no, just because someone escaped by hatch (with or withou tthe key) does not mean you get "bullied". That means you would've won the match anyway, and the real downside is just you losing some bloodpoints.

You can dodge a lobby with a mori. It's called closing the game during the loading screen. Besides, most mori's I've seen are in response to a key.

  • Two things:

    1. the Devour Hope challenge. People are cheesing this with Mori's/NOED/Haunted etc (and I can't blame them, given how unreliable a totem like Devour Hope is to stay up long enough to meet the challenge requirements on it's own).
    2. Mori's are getting nerfed soon-ish? So to everyone who said "zomg everyone uses moris" - you're about to find out what that actually feels like. No longer will they have to exaggerate. Killer mains have hundreds (some thousands) of mori's backlogged, because they haven't used them. Now they will before the nerf.

Well there's a 2 new cheats going around one makes you unhook able and the other lets you trigger soul guard without hex effects active first one seen footage second one I had it in a game earlier as Demogorgon had a garrunteed 3k after driving the flashlight Feng out one dead I slugged 2 hook one and a Cheryl just gets up I think unbreakable so I hit and it was soul guard and then I got D's but when I looked at it's requirements it says you can only use it when a hex id activated but non was

Pretty sure the unhookable thing is a confirmed bug.

Again, I'm not suggesting everyone can see them. Just people with generator aura perks. I think its fine.

And also the point of blocked generators on Corrupt is more to corral the Survivors into a smaller area and than it is to waste their time searching for generators to work on. Ideally, if they only have a limited amount of generators to work on its much easier to patrol them to find your first chases

I would say only one perk, the Cheryl perk, should see blocked gens. You don't need x amount of perks to counter one single perk. Just no.

Next you'll be asking for Detectives Hunch to tell you which totems are hex totems.

what am I supposed to do? read your mind? it obviously is confusing as hell to your ownself I couldn't make heads or tails of it. "Oh did he mean all the trials are boring? oh I can't read that right, he's gotta be saying none of the trials are boring! wait I know he didn't mean that, must be some of the trials are boring? YES I read his mind right. now which of these three options should I have taken? I went by how I was taught ENGLISH in school. If there is no clarification go with the answer that best fits the statement AS is. "Trials are boring" the clarification that makes the MOST sense is "(ALL) Trials are boring" because if you meant less than ALL the trials you would have clarified how many of them are boring! I guess you did not go to that class in english? How about logic class.... oh yea logic would tell me different... but no it doesn't, logic says that this is about English not mathmatics so follow the rules of English.

I think it's really just confusing to you. I didn't say all trials, you interpreted it that way, and only to suit your narrative.

Technically, Survivors can already see blocked generators thanks to Cheryl's Perk: Repressed Alliance. So now there's actually contradicting mechanics surrounding entity blocked gens. They're not always unable to be seen by Survivors

Again, they aren't meant to be seen by everyone. They are meant for survivors to go to them, see they are blocked, and have to go to another gen that isn't. It's meant to slow the game down somewhat. That is the entire point. This is another hand holding that survivors do not need.

"assuming you would interpret it the most logical way possible." I did make the most logical interpretation of the statement. you are the one that was not clear. also the word assuming is the mistake you made, but it's not that I would interpret it the most logical way possible, but you assumed I would know what you meant. I don't have to validate my feelings, I know what I said, and what you said, It was not I that was imprecise in what I said. stop trying to tell me HOW I AM FEELING ABOUT ANYTHING, you know nothing of me and I have told you specifically how I took your statement and you keep trying to make me the one that is in the wrong. I am sorry your feelings are hurt because I did not agree with how you wanted that statement to be taken but I am not your keeper.

Sure there, bud. Selective logic. It's fine, it happens.

  • @Freki said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1632883#Comment_1632883

you also did not clarify either way so I had to take it as I read it. I did so. IF you do not like it BE SPECIFIC next time. In English omiting a qualifier does not mean that was meant or intended. "I took the courses to get a degree" implies that I took all the courses to get a degree. thus your omission had the word ALL implied. to make the above statement mean less than everything needed I just say "I took some of the courses to get a degree" means I did not take all the courses for the degree. now what remains as a question is did I get a degree there and if so where did I take the other courses. so your statement "The Trials are boring" does not imply SOME. if you had clarified that statement some how before I replied I'd have either agreed or disagreed with you but that statement in and of itself does imply ALL. ask anyone that teaches how would this statement be read as by a general reader "trials get boring" you will be told that it would be assumed all trials get boring instead of some of them get boring. you tried to trick me by being unclear, I have shown you that your statement was unclear and how it was taken, yet you are hurt and upset that I did not take it the way you intended it to be. This is the same argument people are trying to use about the "leave match" button that because it is there the devs intended for it to be used at any time by the players. How ever the DEVS have since clarified that was not the case. They were unclear and people are whining because they clarified their stance and instituted dc penalties. I how ever am agreeing with you that some of the trials can get very boring but i disagree that it warrants disconnecting.

So that's the road you're going down?

I mean, whatever helps validate your feelings, I suppose. I didn't specify either direction. I guess I made a bad judgement call assuming you would interpret it the most logical way possible.

It's a bit unfair to blame that on survivors. Blame that gem on BHVR.

It's silly to expect people not to use their kit the most optimal way possible. It's like people who whine about Freddy with Pop. Pop seems like it was made for Freddy sometimes. So why should killers intentionally gimp themselves by not using it? Ya know?

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1631424#Comment_1631424

This isn't correct. The LEAVE MATCH function is there for emergencies - not for when people get downed instantly, or don't want to play against a certain killer or against a certain survivor perk.

DC'ing is spoiling the game for the other players in the match who do want to play. And I do definitely suggest that if you are unable to play a match, don't even go into a lobby!

Even you have to admit - things like Iri Head/Infantry Belt Huntress and Hostage Doc on The Game are actually poorly designed and broken (especially when Iri Head Huntress won't even hook you half the time and just wants to slug, and Doc won't even slug, he just hits and stays by his gens).

There ARE legitimate reasons people DC that aren't emergency related. These things need to be addressed. They should have been addressed before penalties were even in their infancy.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Ruin and Pop makes sense, Ruin, Undying and Pop seems like overkill. Your totems should last long enough that you could take 2 other perks.

Whispers is good as it means you won’t waste static blast, corrupt works better than pop with undying, ruin since if you get a large map like red forest you can pressure the eary gens for Ruin to take effect.

That depends on the map. I'd say basically any slowdown is overkill with Doc if you're on say...The Game.

But on mother's dwelling? rotten fields? I mean, at the end of the day, Doc has no map pressure.

Why do you have to be so passive aggressive about everything?

They can manipulate their ping at any point. Thats why some cant be picked up whereas some can but cant be hooked. Depends when they flip it.

Their ping is fine, they go down and it jumps to 1020ms, their friend comes to pick them up it returns to normal. Thats why they have normal ping when running but high ping on the ground because they can manipulate it at any point.

I had video evidence and sent it to the support site and the guy got banned.

You argue and get passive aggressive so much, really looks bad on you when you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Passive aggressive and arrogant are two completely different things. I'm arrogant, not passive aggressive. Please use the right terms. This is why you consistently lose arguments to the point where you bail.

In any case - of course they can manipulate their ping. That's why it's called a "lag switch". I'm saying that it does nothing for them, other than make it so 2 people aren't on generators (in the event that someone comes to revive them). Even then, you can only "lag switch" for a maximum of a few seconds before the server drops connection with you entirely. So you're greatly exaggerating what can be done with a lag switch on a *centralized dedicated server* as of right now.

I don't think you should criticize other peoples attitudes, and throwing personal attacks after such a long vacation. It's not a good look. Especially when you can't differentiate arrogance and passive aggressive behavior. Though, perhaps text makes it hard to tell; and I'm only arrogant because, well, it's easy. You guys boost my confidence literally that much (thanks, btw <3).

Oh, want proof? https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/164401/help-me-understand-this-is-my-lost-legacy-gone-forever-now/p1

You should actually read that thread. Anyone saying Legacy should be treated the same as event cosmetics doesn't have a valid opinion on the matter, because nobody saying that had to earn legacy back in the day. Unless you earned legacy, you *do not* have a valid opinion on the matter. Period.

I think it is important to differentiate between ''camping'' and ''patrolling''.

If the killer is pretty much right at the hook, it's camping.

If he's walking around the area, staying close to threaten someone getting the rescue, but not in the face of the hooked survivor, its patrolling.

I don't think patrolling should be seen as ''toxic''.

Even then, camping isn't toxic. It's a legitimate strategy. Even the devs have gone on record saying this. Hell, even the original DBD tutorial videos (the ones that were in the game before the playable tutorial) showed the Trapper camping is prey on the hook.

Would you get more passive aggressive if I told you I'm not even reading your comments and just saying you're right anyways?

I'm sure you must live a happy life judging by how often you show your passive aggressive nature in a gaming forum.

Passive aggressive - of or denoting a type of behavior or personality characterized by indirect resistance to the demands of others and an avoidance of direct confrontation, as in procrastinating, pouting, or misplacing important materials.

Am I being arrogant? Absolutely. Passive aggressive? Well...by definition? No. But go on. This is fun. Proving you wrong and watching you resort to ad hominem attacks.

I took what you said and applied logic to your statement. LOGIC: If the game is made up of trials and they get boring, the game is boring. Personally there have been a FEW trials that have been very boring to me but it hasn't made me DC against it I still did it and I was the only one that got out of the trial by the exit gate as I finished the last gen just as the killer found the hatch. I was laughing. I DONT CARE, if the rules say it is not allowed to dc intentionally then I won't dc, I'll play it out. keep disconnecting, keep giving me blood points, I don't care but I will keep reporting each and every one that disconnects.

No, the game is Dead by Daylight. The trials are rounds. Each round is not the same. We are not facing the same killer, with the same perks, with the same strategy, with the same team mates over and over again.

Trials vary. The game stays the same.

    Scream for me.

  • Don't listen to what the people saying "braindead" are saying. Run a build that works for you. Don't pay mind or attention to entitled players who call you braindead for it. There's counters for literally everything you mentioned. They just choose not to run them.

  • Unfortunately for you, the majority of the community doesn't think exploits like Hostage Doc and broken things like Iri Head are "BaSiC gAmE mEcHaNiCs". Lagswitching makes survivors impossible to pick-up/hook.

    Untitled Image

It can't just make them impossible to pick up for the killer, unless the survivors are on the same local network (even then, the lagswitch would have to be network based instead of locally initiated). Everyone is connected to a centralized dedicated servers. What would affect a killers ability to pick them up would also affect a survivors ability to heal them. Otherwise it's just them on the ground dying, cause the bleed out timer doesn't stop.

I played freddy, got into a lobby after about 5-10 minutes wait and get in there.. find first person quickly (wasn't being stealthy), hit them, they try to juke me and I get lucky, anticipate their move and down. I go to pick up they dc. meh ok I move on next one I find because they were getting in a position to save the first when they disconnected. I knock them down and they dc. then suddenly it goes to match result entity displeased and I see the other two had dc'd... oh btw my perks were rank 1 fire up, no add ons, no offering (level 1 character). then in the chat they yelled at me "Get F'd! EXPECT DC's when you play freddy!" another said " HAH! de pip on stream sucker!!!" I replied to both.... "welcome to reports and I'm not live... btw I'm rank 17 and it won't depip me what so ever you red rank wimps." They were a swf from rank 1 to rank 3. they'd have destroyed me if they didn't dc as it stood they had reports on them, I had points for a less than 3 minute match. this is what you'd want them to allow, no you are the pathetic one I agreed to play by the rules and I do, you agreed to play by the rules and you won't what's worse? someone that follows the rules or someone that flaunts the rules just because there is an option to help players in emergency situations. OOF, imagine misquoting me that hard.

I do know what a strawman is. I'm telling people, that if they hate a game, they should play something else, I was never telling them to do that, I was giving advice, you really need to work on your vocabulary. Notice how you didn't even reply to the rest of my post as well, because you have literally nothing. Your opinion is invalid.

You obviously don't know what a strawman is, or your reading compehension skills are flat out broken. YOU are intentionally misrepresenting peoples arguments as them hating the game (aka, a strawman - write it down, looks like you need the definition on hand for future correct usage). Nobody is DCing/dying on hook because they "hate" the game. People aren't playing a game they hate. They are leaving games because they don't like what they are currently forced to play against. Whether it be Iri Huntress or Hostage Doc (which is only bannable if done more than 20 minutes, but I've seen nobody ever get banned for it).

So all streamers got perfect internet even though every streamer mentions internet issues on a fairly regular basis - gotcha!

Again - there's a difference between upstream and downstream. Each stream (up and down) is separate in how much bandwidth it provides. It's the reason FULL duplex connections exist. You can max your upstream, and still have your full downstream. They do not bleed into eachother UNLESS your network adapter is saturated, which is nearly impossible unless you're literally streaming at like 1Gbps (0.8% if that is what Twitch supports at maximum), which literally nobody is doing, and no streaming platform supports.

The average upload speed in the USA is approx. 33Mbps (or 3.3% of what a network adapter on any PC from the last 10 years or more supports). This is all ASSUMING that streaming affects gaming. Which it doesn't, from a network standpoint.

But okay - go ahead in thinking you know everything. You're only showing that you know very little. You're embarrassing yourself.

Nice strawman, I am not telling people to do anything. Everything you mentioned are basic game mechanics (besides hostage doc, which is bannable), if you are disconnecting because of basic game mechanics and complaining, then you probably, just might need to play something else. The fact that you are calling me entitled and telling me to get off my soap is quite funny, because you are telling me how "I have more hours than you've ever been alive".

I don't think you know what a strawman is.

Strawman - an intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument.

I didn't do that. You are actually sitting there telling people they are so and so because they leave a game any which way. You're telling them to keep playing or go play something else. I am not misrepresenting your argument in any way.

    Get schooled.

You realize a streamer's connection is more likely to suffer from server-sided hits than a normal player's connection due to the fact they are... You know... Streaming?

Your realize that streamers are only streaming at a maximum of 8Mpbs a second (and that's for a partnered streamer), and aren't even close to saturating their connection (aka - bandwidth - learn it), right? You also realize that downstream (aka - not what you use while streaming) is what matters most in games, right? If streaming affected games that much (which is doesn't, literally at all from a network standpoint) - there'd be no competitive shooter players streaming.

Don't talk about networking if you have no clue how it works. Please do your research before you make another ill informed comment. Otherwise I'll just be convinced you're trolling. I'm actually really glad you decided to die on the "I know everything" hill. It's mildly amusing.

The server-sided beta worked perfectly for me. It made no difference as killer and as survivor I finally didn't receive any latency hits anymore. I think the vast majority of people that complained forgot how server-sided hits work. They punish the player with the bad connection.

Many people don't even know they got bad internet so they blamed questionable hits or misses on the server-sided hits.

The only actual bug was Huntress hatchets that weren't able from point-blank distance as far as I know.

Anyways the devs merely disabled it because it was a BETA not because it didn't work well for the most part. I can't wait for the devs to re-enable server hits.

For you. Since it worked fine for you, it must have been perfect.

Makes sense. I guess only your experience matters.

These were the day server side validation was enabled.

Get off the "if it's fine for me, it's fine for everyone, and I know everything" kick. It's not working out for you, cause none of those things are true.

Yep, it only affected Huntress. OnLy AfFeCtEd HuNTrEsS!! wOrKeD PErfEcTlY fInE fOr Me!11!!!!

Lagswitching makes survivors impossible to pick-up/hook.

It also doesn't allow them to be picked up by team mates. Therefore, it gives them no real advantage.

It was a good try, though.

  • Actually - BHVR are the problem.

Seasoned players are getting matched with baby survivors who get 3-man slugged before the first gen is done is a game issue.

Things like Iri Head, which is the most broken add on in the game combined with Huntress' already broken hitbox, is a game issue.

I also can't blame anyone for killing themselves on hook if they run into a build like Hostage Doc or just a build full of slowdowns. It legitimately gets boring. I have literally gotten to the point where I have gone to the killer and begged for death; and I'm a killer main with likely more hours in this game than you've probably been alive, with your entitled attitude. It's ironic how you talk about people who DC as if they are entitled...when you're also acting entitled. People paid for the game, just like you. They aren't your slaves, and you aren't they're master. They owe you nothing.

Again - BHVR is the problem. You shouldn't be penalizing people for disconnecting while the game is in the state it's in, both bug and balance-wise, and you should never be penalizing people for dying on hook when they aren't having fun beyond what they already get - rank loss.

    Period.

There is no version of this where you will ever be anything other than entitled.

Blight is a really fun character to go against, just not when literally every single Blight player uses the same build (ruin, undying, tinkerer, bbq). I wouldn't DC against an adept Blight but the same exact Blight over and over that's also using the green add-on for aura revealing, then yeah. I am just gonna kms on hook. I'm. Bored.

I mean, most survivors use a variation of the same build, as well. Now you know how killers feel.

    Actually...no. Not anymore.

The devs confirmed recently that killer matchmaking was scrapped completely - with no plans or timeline as to it's return. It's a complete coin toss at present. I was rank 14 in the second game, if I recall.

Using ranks to determine skill or excuse a loss is irrelevant. Even the devs have stated ranks mean absolutely nothing in terms of player skill.

Hits are still killer-sided/registered despite dedicated servers so a laggy killer will in fact get hits they never deserved.

The devs are going to switch to server-sided hits for a reason.

It's not hits "they never deserved". 99% of those hits, on the killers screen, looked perfectly fine. It's desync, not whether or not they deserve the hit. Survivors aren't the only ones who suffer from desync. Case and point - grabbing someone off a gen/during an unhook attempt. It will literally start to play the grab animation, and not register. It's desync, and nothing more - and it can never, and will never be 100% fixed. It's just the nature of dedicated servers.

Also - they recently had a server side hit validation test. It literally made things worse, for both killer and survivors.

I only play for 18 hours so far, just bought the game

And have meet 2 blatant cheater already

One of them which is disconected in rhe middle of the game

And the other is 2man swf who use the same cheat together

    "Blatant cheater"

    Disconnecting isn't hacking.

What "cheats" were the SWF using?

Of course it is, but 5 hackers in over 4k hours of game time in over 4 years now? That doesn't qualify as a "huge problem". Not even a minor one.

CS:GO hackers. Fall guys hackers. THOSE are huge problems.

  • @normalusername said:

Maybe, the game has had a huge problem with hackers lately and the devs are just ignoring it.

I've got over 4k hours in this game, been playing since 2016, and I've seen maybe 5 hackers. If that.

    "Huge Problem"
