I was getting stutters when I first started playing. After 3-4 matches, the stutters went away luckily. (PC)
-
Definitely a bug. I've gone against quite a few killers without a terror radius and it's kind of annoying.
-
Old Balanced Landing effect.
-
I wouldn't say it's toxic but it was a whole of bm for a stacked swf who sent him to an unfavorable map. Insults and racist/homophobic slurs are what I would deem toxic.
-
I go against rainbow ranks all the time and I'm a rank1 killer. When they can't match you with a killer of similar rank, the matchmaking will start pairing you up with killers of different ranks. On the flip side, if it's taking you a long time to get a match as killer, you will probably be paired with different ranks as well.
-
Genrushing isn't a thing unless survivors specifically brought perks, items, and addons to do gens quicker. Another situation is if they just focus on just gens and ignore literally every other objective like hook saving and healing up.
For the most part in my experience, killers use the term incorrectly. At this stage of the game, gens are not the issue. Certain maps and certain tiles are.

No asymmetrical party game with a thousand variables can ever be competitive.

I know this is supposed to be about the which map is aesthetically the most intimidating but I'll never shake my ptsd of haddonfield and ormond.
This man knows what's up. I always let out a huge sigh when I get these two maps as killer.

Now I wanna start by saying that I’m not trying hate or bash on umbra because I actually love her and lover her content and in my eyes she’s a very good killer on pc but some people that I’m really close with on Xbox played against her twice in one day around 3 days ago (,yes it was a SWF) and did a good job and managed to get 2 people out on 1 match and 3 on the other. Umbra is a very chill streamer so she didn’t really complain. But this is an example for the people on PC that you guys are escapable and killable. Ever since cross-play came out it’s disgusting how pc players especially the Some TTV streamers bash on console players for being bad. I play on PC as well and it’s safe to say that all platforms play the same way just cause you’re on M&K doesn’t mean crap.
You do know that she lowkey disses console players as well right? it's just a running gag at this point. Are there amazing console players? Absolutely. However, there are more console players than pc players. Therefore, there's a higher likelihood to run into bad console killers/survivors. Plus, the bad optimization and lower refresh rate does not help.
-
Be unpredictable. I don't like having to say bring a perk to counter a certain killer, but I have had a lot of success against good nurses by having spine chill. It lets you know that you should probably stop what you're doing and hide. A good nurse typically doesn't blink after you until they have eyes on you.
With that said. A good nurse on a good map will 4k most of their games. It's just the nature of her power. She is not called the strongest killer for no reason.

Crows are chance they fly when crouched by
Sound barely works half the time
Scratch marks requires you ro run
If a window is blocked by the entity then its one of 3 things the killer is doing something wrong or they are a m1 killer or the setup is too strong like shack into a jungle gym
Yet you can still use them for tracking. You said and I quoted "no way to track without perks". You spoke in an absolute which made your comment completely false. You can't always RELIABLY track with those three things and I can agree with that, but they are there and you can still use them.
I specifically said semi-infinites, I'm not sure why you're branching it off to something else. We're talking Haddonfield main house god window spawn and the Haddonfield/Badham Basement house god window spawn. We're also talking about the Disturbed Ward window. The worst part is that these stay in the game and can be used multiple times by multiple survivors. They don't disappear after being used like pallets.
Unless you're playing a zoning or trapping killer, these windows need to be entity blocked every single time to continue the chase or you're forced to drop chase and go after another survivor.
Also, you kind of responded to the unimportant parts of the post and disregarded the fun aspect of fair input of both sides during a chase. Sure you can hide against literally every single killer but the game has evolved into a more chase-centric game because trust me, if this was hiding simulator, everyone would literally quit even killers. It's boring to have to find immersed players all the time.

Its called adaptation you cant treat every killer like they are the same some are made to domonate chases nurse spirit pyramid death slinger. But they have no way of tracking without perks. If you ever seen the game hide or die you know what im talking about. Of when nurse came out the metta for a while was hide from them as long as possible because you couldnt out run a decent nurse at the time thats why people would run whispers on her and the newer killers this same tactic applies to them if you waist 40s of time and another 20s of chase you won 2 or 3gens are almost done thats 1 hook and if they never find you thats even better you waisted their time and continue your gen when they leave what im saying is your not supposed to win in chase vs a good chase killer and to the others that are saying what do i do vd a good chase killer with bbq. Or tracking perks majority of tracking perks require someone to do something figure out what perks they have and play around them
bbq get in a locker or near the killer
whispers waist as much time as possible
Infectious stay away from killer
Spies. Calm sprit or hope the crow dosent fly when near
This is a basic concept and it works but everyone complains at how good they are in chase and dosent think about how they should adapt to the situation.
And noed is not a problem if your not spotted or do totems
"No way to track without perks" Uh... You can use crows, scratch marks, and sound like what most good killers do? Hiding isn't interactive. The most interactive part of the game is the chase. When you make that unfun for one side or both sides, there needs to be readjustments to make it more fun which is the point of playing a game.
A fair chase and balanced chase requires input from both sides. Killers like Deathslinger, Spirit, and Pyramidhead negate that input. That's not to say that they don't have any counters nor are they overpowered, but it's the reason why they are unfun to go against. There are strong killers that have input like Oni, Huntress, Nurse, and Billy.
On the flip side, that's why semi-infinites that require an entity block shouldn't exist in the game because it disregards a killer's input/skill.
-
Corrupt Intervention lasts only 2 minutes and it's the only counter to terrible map design. If anything, it needs a buff or it needs to be part of a killer's base kit. Pop relies on survivors being bad and its value comes from survivors getting downed often in succession. If the killer can't exert any pressure, it has no value.

Well, I never got a game where I knew that my performance was poor, and I got a merciless killer. Just saying.
You missed the point of the post. The point is is that most instadown killers will almost never get merciless and will still 3k/4k. Killers like Plague and trapper suffer from the emblem system as well. According to your logic, you have a higher chance of losing by playing these killers since they can't get merciless all the time even though they 3k/4k.

Well......if they want to "win" they are not getting it that way.
DbD is not a game where you win escaping or killing.
You win by having a decent score, or reaching the top score you could get.
Winning means getting 1 or 2 pips. If you got a double pip, you really played nice.
Just by doing gens and escaping they are actually not winning. A lot of survivors still don't realize this point.
This idea of winning is a bit flawed. Certain killers get more points far easier because the emblem system supports their power while others do not. You can get 31k points as wraith, legion, and doctor and still get brutal killer as well as only 1k. Then you can get 3k/4k with trapper, plague, billy, myers, and leatherface and only get 15k-20k points due to the nature of their power.
Because of how flawed the emblem/scoring system is, I consider a 3k/4k a win, a 2k a draw, and 3/4scape a loss.
Coming back to your post, if there's no pressure on the other survivors to unhook/heal/get off gens, then their obvious goal is to hold m1 on gens and progress the game. YOU can make it more fun for survivors by downing them faster and forcing chases to happen with all survivors. For me, stealthy survivors are by far the easiest group to 4k against because they stealth b/c they can't loop so chases end much faster.

Well I do have a 2080TI and in maps like Midwitch I dip down to 40fps.
Do you have VSync on? You shouldn't be dropping to 40fps with a 2080ti. I've uncapped my fps to 120 and my frames are around 70-90 on indoor maps.
-
Another little known counter is use to use the loops around certain cars on autohaven because his power goes over the cars, not through them.

Ohhh good suggestions & yeah! I figured out the for the people one, but unfortunately I'm rank 6 and most of my matches are vs red rank killers now, so I haven't been able to escape like. at all. I finally did escape as obsession last match--but it was after I had decided to swap out challenges.
I made the challenge super hard for myself because why not. I did the tunnel me build to complete the challenge and it was quite satisfying.
-
You can be on the hook and have the survivors leave and still get the tome done. Also, you can finish this quest with multiple games.
I've gotten the stun the killer challenge in one game. Run Quick and Quiet with Head On as well as DS. Bring a medkit and just take the hit on a pallet and drop it for the stun if you have to.
Of course, for the last one, you can just use For the People and leave.

I would rework Haddonfield and Ormond. They're both due for a graphical update so might as well nerf how strong certain loops are in those maps.
-
You say that but I've gotten the most mori's and bming from console killers. In addition, console survivors like to bring their map offerings and keys when I play killer. We all have different experiences and btw, I actually know that I play against console players b/c I'm pc. Noone plays on freakin windows store.
-
Well yeah. She's easy to use and gives no input to survivors when she's in her power. Therefore, ez hits/downs. Just guess better forehead.
-
You got ranked with people outside of your skill level. Spirit is the one of many killers that can actually do well on that God forsaken map. Eventually you'll be good enough to win most of your matches if you play her more.
With that said, SWF's will always be more difficult to deal with. You will always have to play at a much higher level to defeat them because some of them are incredibly competent with 1000's of hours. You're not meant to defeat them if you haven't invested as much time into the game as they have because you simply lack the skillset to defeat them.
-
He's not that rare in my games but there is an obvious reason. It's just that people prefer to play killers with easy to learn mechanics. Therefore, you tend to see a lot of m1 killers like Freddy, Spirit, and Doctor with a low skillcap but high reward.

Slugging is fine. Slugging for the sake of slugging, is boring. I dislike when the killer slugs me, then wanders off for whatever reason, coming back to check on me, then moving off again. I get particularly salty when it causes me to bleed out. I know part of the blame lies on the potatoes I'm matched with, but still. It's boring.
Agreed. Leaving survivors on the ground to bleed out for 4 mins is quite the fun and interactive experience that we all want to have in this game. /s

As I said, the alternative to being slugged is being hooked. Why would it be more fun to be on the hook than ground?
Because it takes longer to be picked up than it takes to be unhooked. With that said, slugging is a completely legitimate strategy. I do it all the time. If the survivor is complaining about slugging, they should honestly just run unbreakable or get good and not get downed.

Here's the question though would it be smol pp to bring no mither and ds?
It cancels each other out at the point doesn't it?
-
Because it's boring to be on the ground. The counter to that would be to bring unbreakable. Then you would risk being picked up after being hook farmed, in which case you should've brought DS. But now if you bring both DS and Unbreakable, you're going to be smol pp shamed.
-
He's pretty underrated tbh. He has the best synergy with Save the Best for Last. His shred is a great zoning tool and can cut down many loops if used properly, not to mention he has mapwide pressure with his portals. His basekit looks fine, but his addons could use a revisit.
-
Billy and Demo
-
Freddy is a better doctor with better map control/gen pressure. I'll be one of the few people who agrees with you that he's overbuffed.
-
Midwich offering. Use Object of Obsession. Hold W.
-
Should DBD be more optimized for console? Yes absolutely, but unfortunately it never will be because the game is built on a weak foundation that's susceptible to bugs after every new update. It's not even optimized well on its first platform, which is PC.
At the same time, there are plenty of PC players playing on their potato laptops/pc's that have a disadvantage against a Ryzen 3900x/Intel 9900k with 2080 TI GPU. A console is pretty much just a PC optimized for gaming, but it's incomparable to the top of the line CPU/GPU's.
There are also monitors where you can easily up the gamma so you can see better. In conclusion, those who are willing to shell out more money will always have an edge in gaming. Crossplay should be a thing because it will help que times and the future mmr system with a larger pool of players.
-
It would be a hard no, given the large pool of players but that's better matchmaking than some of what I've seen tbh.
-
Cut: Pyramidhead. He's a clunky mess. None of my friends nor I enjoy playing the guy, nor against him.
Nerf: Spirit. Make it so that she leaves a trail of black scratch marks or black pools of blood when she's phasing.
Nerf: Deathslinger. He needs a cd when he withdraws his gun after ADS, so that he doesn't get free zoning from spamming it.
Rework: Legion, Clown, and Piggy need a complete overhaul of some if not all of their mechanics.
Rework: Pig. Make it so that survivors never get their helmet off on the first or last try. That's a start. Make it so that she can teabag like Ghostface as well.
Rework: Freddy. Freddy's base kit is too strong and needs to be transferred to some of his addons. Base Freddy shouldn't be snares. It should be dream pallets.
Rework: Huntress. Iri head and exhaustion addons need to go. Clown exhaustion addons need to go.
Rework: I'm all for an rework overhaul for Leatherface as well. His power just encourages scummy play.
Buff: Trapper. Should have a base kit brown trapper bag.
Buff: Myers. Need some sort of buff. On certain maps with a ton of LoS blocks and pallets, he's weak as hell.
Buff: Wraith. Needs base kit yellow windstorm.
Buff: Billy. Make Billy's Mother's Helper addon the old spark plug. Make the grease addon give an increased movement speed of 0.2 seconds after taking a stun.
-
That bug happens all the time on PC. Even DBD streamers go completely silent sometimes when playing survivor and acknowledge the bug.
-
After he injures survivors, he becomes an m1 killer w/ no antiloop. He will never be close to or in the same league as Oni who can instadown at any loop. Sure, Legion can have some disgusting builds but his power relies on survivors being bad and grouping up. Against competent survivors who split up, he just takes the L almost every single time.

April 2020 developer update. Tile tweaks and window logic.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/141304/developer-update-april-2020
PC player. Yes, those killers are still decent, but the power was drastically changed, while the survivor meta was left untouched.
What happens when you get a sabo squad that's also fast on gens? Three on gens, one good looper, you catch the looper and his teammates are in the area, ready to save? I'm seriously starting to think the entirety of the top survivors live on Sao Paulo, Korea, and Russia. The rest of the world just deals with bad survivors and thinks everyone has them.
Nowhere do I see that they made tiles stronger. The point of that patch was to make them weaker and more fair. You can ask a dev if you still want to believe the stuff you're saying.
I never got a sabo squad that's fast on gens. It means that 1 person is looping and 1-2 people are trying to sabo for the save. That's not 3 people on gens all the time. Here's a recent game of mine to prove that I'm not talking out of my ass. They got a few saves with sabo but it wasn't worth it when they all died with 2 gens left.
-
Should've hit escape and showed us your ping as well. However, from my experience, window hits with elevation have always been janky.

Those killers are considerably weaker, they're still decent, but nothing like they were.
They absolutely strengthened tiles and added long walls, I NEVER saw them before the changes.
Try a sabo squad with three oak offerings and an ormond. Talk about a nightmare.
Are you a console player? These 4 killers are the easiest to 4k with on PC. They are in no way JUST decent.
I've played games where I didn't have single long wall on multiple maps so I stand by conclusion that tiles are still completely RNG. I haven't heard that they increased or strengthened the amount of tiles by any person, dev, or player outside of you. If anything, Gas Heaven and Wretched Shop have turned into complete deadzones with barely any tiles/pallets.
I'd rather face a sabo squad on ormond, which I will probably win more than 80% of the time, vs an efficient team on gens that will make me lose more than 90% of the time.

Not often. I do see his chainsaw and mallet when I play him tho. :P

That's a load of crap. When they nerf killer, they make meta shifting changes. See nurse, ruin, Billy, spirit, oni, and legion.
When they nerf survivor, its tiny adjustments, like a 5 second increase in gen times with multiple survivors working on it. They changed maps, but added a ton of long walls and buffed vaults, plus barely made maps smaller.
They nerfed toolboxes, but buffed the crap out of sabo. What they do to killer would be the equivalent of adding 30 seconds to a gen, or removing a hook state and giving nothing to compensate.
Imagine thinking that Nurse, Billy, Spirit, and Oni are considerably weaker after their nerfs. Also, Oni got nerfed for a couple of weeks and then they gave him his flick back. These 4 killers still have the biggest snowball potential in the game despite the nerfs. I'll give you Legion tho.
They didn't add more long walls. That's a load of BS. You're just unlucky if you get a map with multiple long walls. Tiles are completely RNG. The vault buff is basically how vaults were before dedicated servers, so they brought vaults back to normal if anything.
You forgot to add the fact that they removed most semi-infinites which were the biggest time wasters in the game. I'll agree that maps are still the biggest determining factor of whether or not you win/lose a game outside of skill.
Also, Imagine thinking sabo is a problem. I've never lost to a sabo squad... like ever. If anything, you want players to sabo b/c they're not actively doing the objective and progressing the game.

because survivors can make a lot of mistakes and still win killers make 1 little mistake and they done they lose.
how that fair?
It's not supposed to be fair. Killer is the harder role and killer mains feel incredibly oppressed because of this. Remember that a single survivor only accounts to 1/4 of the team. If a killer makes a mistake, you're making a mistake for 100% of your team. Your mistakes SHOULD be more debilitating.
You see a lot of killers complain that gens go by far too quickly while ignoring the snowball potential of their power. I don't know how many games as killer where I had the first 3 gens pop early and I was still able to pull off the dub.
Remember that the game gets CONSIDERABLY easier once 1 survivor is dead. Survivors basically play unhook/heal simulator if you pinball between the last 3, resulting in your win.

What do you mean by the begging phase?
It's obviously the phase where killers beg survivors not to do gens. /kidding
I honestly thought about making corrupt intervention base kit for all killers. There are some maps that are just too big to patrol while pressuring gens at the same time. Forcing survivors to come closer to you and while having a smaller area to patrol helps quite a bit.
I would make it so that the furthest gens from the killer are corrupted for 90 seconds at the beginning of the trial. The perk Corrupt Intervention will add an additional 40/50/60 seconds to the corrupted gens.
According to DBDLeaks, there seems to be some sort of glyph system that will be implemented for early game so we just have to wait and see.

That's bullshit. I'm rank 1 pc and I constantly get rank 10 console players who can't hit skill checks.
Depends on the region probably. I'm US west coast and I get a healthy mix of rainbow ranks and red ranks. The majority of the players I get are console players that don't know how to loop properly. Very rarely, I would get the 4 man console swf that actually know what they're doing.

Yes, I played against of couple swf's recently that was lagswiching. They didn't give me a chance to hook when I down them and they also dissapear in middle of chase. Yesterday was a second time. One of them was called "Fair Player". First time I played against similar hackers guy was named "Bad Internet".
And one time I was playing Huntress and at the end of the match one survivor was mad at me blaming me hacking. I never used cheats in multiplayer games. This wave of hackers also make people paranoid.
Yep same thing happened to me. Somehow, they're preventing hooks by pulling the plug and I'm unable to hook or drop the survivor. When I hit escape to check the ping, their ping is over 1k but it drops down to normal in a chase. They also don't say anything in endgame chat which just adds to the suspicion.
