Knowing my luck I'll be dead.
Any recommendations for the other perk slots?
Decisive and sprint burst. After you yeet off the hook, the killer might come back to tunnel you.
-
Many people don't play doctor regularly and they may need stronger addons to complete a daily. However, I'd take Iri king/queen ANY DAY over high stimulus electrode with discipline. Iri king/queen may be annoying but they aren't even close to the broken addon combos that doc can have.

Ace in the hole and slippery meat with a salty lips offering. Try your luck and if you succeed, the killer loses their pressure.

I feel like refunding successful hatchets could get by with no downside at very rare. Best case scenario, if you hit literally all of your hatchets, you never have to reload. But even the best Huntresses out there don't hit all of their hatchet, so you'd ultimately just have at most two more than you normally would after a chase. Most of the time you'd still rather reload just to be safe.
You can make it so that Iri head only instadowns on headshots. I think this was coded in way back when during PTB as basekit but the idea was rejected.
-
Wait a second... You want killers to be rewarded a speed boost when they fail to stop gens from popping instead of a speed boost for survivors for actually completing their objectives? This is a pretty backwards ida. Killers already have a built in speed boost. It's called bloodlust.
-
Any top tier killer can not seem as good as they actually are if people are new to the killer and haven't played them often. I've come across more bad nurses than actually good ones but the good ones are actually god tier. Freddy is the cheapest killer without any downside and I honestly thought this was a bait post.
@Zender said:
1) He does not slow down when placing traps, uncommon for trap killers (hag, trapper).
2) His add ons slow down gen progression when in dream world (if you haven't noticed gen speed bothers some killers).
3) He can teleport (or fake out) to gens which solve the mobility issue of maps (hello BBQ + PGTW!).
4) His nursery rhythm sound is only when in dream world and that is at 24m, closer than 32m.
5) He's a little smaller than other killers.
Let's add to this. He wastes time more than any other killer having to go across the map or find another survivor to wake up or risk giving away your position by failing a skill check. Stepping on a snare also reveals your location. He doesn't require you to hide your red stain to mindgame when a survivor is asleep. He has the best synergy with Pop which is arguably the best killer perk in the game.
You have mobility, gen pressure, mapwide pressure, information, and antilooping all wrapped up in a base kit. To add to that, his addons give him slowdown. The other killers called and wonder what Freddy did for the devs to get such preferential treatment.
-
Well let's define what genrush actually is and isn't. If you're using a toolbox with BNP/socket swivels with wire spool along with prove thyself, resilience, and streetwise, then you're genrushing. If you're not using any of these, then you're just doing your objective efficiently because the killer can't pressure hard enough. It can be due to maps or it can be due to the killer being bad or both. If you're prioritizing gens over saving your teammates from dying, then you're just being a bad teammate.
I like how people complain about genrush when no one brings genrush perks/addons. I mean what else are you supposed to do? Sit and stare at a wall until someone is downed or the killer finds them? It's stupid and nonsensical.
-
How hard is it to ignore/slug a person off the hook or eat a ds early? How hard is it to ignore/butthug a person for 15 seconds before downing them? When has selfcare been relevant in the past 2 years?

Doctors pretty bad now after the rework, and how easy it is to get out of madness. But defnitely get make your choice in there.
Saying that doctor is bad at all is just straight up misinformation. He's one of the stronger killers in the mid upper tier that can deny looping structures for a free hit. He couldn't do that previously.
You can run the best perks/addons in the world but the first thing you need to learn to play him is how to shock properly to deny pallet drops and window vaults. This takes time and practice. You can also bait out pallet drops at strong loops by pretending to shock and cancelling it.
My personal go to for doctor is Save the Best for Last, BBQ, Corrupt intervention (due to his lack of mobility), and Pop Goes The Weasel. I'd recommend NOT going the Noed route because it puts you in the mindset that you can't win w/o it and you're willing to let all gens go just to have it activate. This doesn't help you improve as a killer in the long run.
I'd recommend watching Archdruiddrey because all he does is play doctor and he has the timing down to the tee. I'd recommend turning the volume off because his commentary is just insistent whining and talking crap about the other side. It gets old.

Nope. Just had a game vs Spirit where a survivor burned haddonfield and the killer burned the game. We ended up getting the game map.

Let me put it this way.
Oni needs to find a Survivor, hit them, and then farm their blood or hit another Survivor to use his power. Either way Oni is a M1 Killer without a power for at least 1-2 minutes in any given game. And once Oni does have his power, it only lasts so long before needing to do it all again. That puts Oni in a spot where he is a M1 Killer without a power for most of the game. Billy on the other hand can use his power from the very start. Able to one shot the first person he sees, maybe even snipe the fool, and then do it again for every other Survivor he finds.
Oni can snowball if given a chance. The definition of to snowball is starting slow then build up over time. Billy simply says ######### that and goes at full speed skipping the "slow start" outright.
Oni only snowballs better than Billy because Billy can't snowball at all. Billy starts the game strong and stays strong throughout for non stop slaughter. Oni has to build up to Billy's strength and can't even maintain it for that long.
100% disagree. Oni is a top 3 killer. People don't really know how busted no collision and Oni's flick is unless you've played against him and as him. Billy has been around for so long that I've learned literally every way to counter him and the perfect timing to pallet stun him with his chainsaw up.
You can't do that against Oni. He will literally hit you through corners and hit you through pallets with his charged lunge which has a massive hitbox. Billy doesn't have that. That's why Oni with his power up has better snowball potential because a good Oni is literally god tier. People say that Oni can have a rough start because he needs two M1's. It's not that hard. All it takes is a simple mindgame to close distance on a loop.

Alt+F4 is a thing.
-
I've honestly seen worse playing fair without any busted addons. Play however you want but when you use something that's recognized as broken by both survivors/killers as giving a completely unfair/unfun advantage, I wouldn't expect anything less from people who you forced to play against that setup. It doesn't justify their comments but you have to understand their frustration which led to those comments.
I've literally just gone up against an iri huntress earlier and got a 4scape. I also got tunneled. Some may find it fun but I found it incredibly irritating but still gave a gg.

I was having some serious trouble on lerys thanks to all of the vaults. I had no charge time addons so I couldnt shock before they vaulted, and on top of that Ive played like 4 doc games so far so I barely have the radius down. You would think that lerys would be his best map but either Im bad or windows are kinda good.
Lery's is one of the best designed inside maps. I feel like it's one of those maps that's either debilitating for bad survivors or extremely good If a survivor is well versed in being able to use and abuse window vaults as well as the safer pallets on that map.
Unless you really know the design of the map, you can't really prevent a window vault with Doc's shock all the time since windows are just everywhere. However, you can prevent them from revaulting or using a pallet that's near that vault. If they also run to one of the many unsafe pallets on that map, then it's a free hit, especially if they drop it early.
Traversing that map from one side to the other is also difficult due to all of the obstacles which gives survivors time to do gens. I think in your case, 4 games is not enough to make you a good at any killer and windows are always amazing if used correctly. Doctor isn't a cheap killer w/o discipline addons and you're probably getting survivors whose skill level is lower than yours.
Most of the doctors I've played do not know how to shock properly making it quite easy for me to go against as survivor.
-
Doctor lacks mobility and there's a tell when he shocks. The only busted thing about doctor are discipline addons which should be nerfed to the ground like toolboxes were. With that said, he is a solid B+ tier killer at best unless you get the Game map. I'd probably put him in S tier on that map.
No instadowns, ranged attacks, map mobility, mapwide pressure, and negligible slowdown puts him in line with a killer like deathslinger who also has strong chase potential. There are some maps where I'd rather play Legion than doctor.
-
I uh... chainblinded a pyramidhead who didn't know how to look up for the challenge so it only took me one match. I did apologize after tho.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Pyramid Head's ranged attack is problematic from a gameplay and fun perspective, both for killer and survivor. As a killer, it is rarely optimal to actually use it due to the huge audio/visual telegraphs and the severe punishment for missing. As a survivor, you are given an often binary choice: take the window/drop the pallet and get hit with the shockwave, or keep running and get M1'd. There is nothing skill based about this interaction because the ranged attack has a huge telegraph and little to no flick. It either gets used or it doesn't.
This highlights what it is in my opinion a very disturbing trend in killer powers within the last year. Simply put, the game is being dumbed down. Most of the killers released within the last year have one of two problems: they simply require you to "do the thing" without any real knowledge of the game itself or mechanical skill, or their power is so punishing with such little upside that it's better used as a zoning tool.
Freddy doesn't need to know how to run a tile when he can snare bomb it. Doc doesn't need to know how to run a tile when he can shock repeatedly. Demo's shred can be good, but you often get hits by not actually using it at all, and missing is worse than the alternative. Deathslinger is usually the same as Demo in that regard. And Pyramid Head is the worst of them all in terms of power reward vs punishment.
Braindead killer powers or unskillful killer powers simply aren't fun for either side. Whenever the question is asked of which killer people enjoy playing against the most, Nurse, Billy, and Huntress are often near the top. Why? Those are SKILLFUL killers, both to play as and against. It's ok for a killer to be powerful when there is an actual skilled interaction going on between the killer and survivor. Making reads on a Nurse but ultimately losing in a few seconds is fun compared to being snare spammed by a Freddy because the Nurse actually had to put time and effort into something and there was counterplay available to the survivor in the moment.
When you dumb down the killer powers, put a hard skill ceiling on the power, and limit the killer's upside, the whole game suffers.
This is a very true and it sucks that it's becoming a recurring issue. The binary choices forced upon you by Pyramidhead and Deathslinger just make them unfun to play against. At least with spirit who's arguably the best killer in the game, you're not locked into these choices.
IMO Doctor isn't as nearly as bad as Freddy because he does slow down and telegraph his shock but then there are discipline addons. Freddy having both oblivious and the ability to spam snares without slowing down can unfortunately "outplay" the best survivors. At any given loop, you WILL eventually fall asleep. A good Freddy can/WILL snare spam you and you WILL take a hit. Then it's rinse and repeat for the next loop and you're down. His base kit is stupid strong with ZERO downside and I refuse to play him until it's addressed.
I would always welcome a challenge from a good nurse, billy, or huntress because I actually feel that I get outplayed from these killers rather than going down/taking a hit due to a cheap mechanic or a binary choice. They also have some of the best chase mechanics in this game that doesn't encourage mindless looping.
-
The map is pretty amazing for killer. Survivors waste a lot of time finding generators and hooked teammates which is a complete time waster. Most pallets are unsafe. Navigating as killer can be pretty difficult but at least you know where gens are so you can patrol them.
-
I brought soul guard in all of my matches and it only saw use once. I would say it's highly situational and wouldn't see much use. I'd rather bring Adrenaline or Iron will given my statistics.
-
@Orion said:
Time to work on your stealth if you're in those areas.
Stealthing against the doctor with no iron will.. I mean sure I guess. I can hop in the nonexistent lockers in the area as well.
@EvilJoshy said:
Could someone have lead the killer on a chase through that area and used all the pallets before you went there?
No not possible, the doctor didn't want to chase me because I made him whiff a few times so it gave me time to to run through that area and scout it. My teammates who unknowingly ran around the area just died. Typically there would be remnants of broken pallets but there were none.
-
Wait a second, I smell some hypocrisy here. I thought it shouldn't matter how strong and unbalanced something is unless it's unable to be countered. Otzdarva showed that even though they did bring BNP, he's still able to overcome it and win. I'm pretty sure Otz was more annoyed at eating two DSes in a row rather than the 3 BNP.
So what if the average killer is unable to take on 3 BNP's? You can say that the average survivor would be unable to counter moris, noed, iri hatchets, stridor spirit, crack billy, spam shock doctor, and forever Freddy. However, since they are all "counterable", they still remain in the game because good survivors can overcome them.
-
He's perfectly fine as a strong killer. Nerfing him just makes him less fun to play. They just need to tweak one or some of his mechanics to give him a higher skill cap like other killers because his powers are indeed strong. He IS a low skillcap, high reward player and if you think otherwise, you are entitled to your wrong opinion. If anyone wants to refer to my post, I go more in depth as to why I think that is.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/158315/freddy-needs-a-higher-skillcap#latest
-
Freddy is fairly cheap. In terms of being cheap, many would compare Freddy to Doc who's also a strong killer. Freddy's cheaper than doc because at least you need to know how to shock as doc and survivors know where the doc is coming from. Doc also has to put survivors in madness, survivors don't get madness t3 passively. Doc also has limited mobility. You can also snap out of madness ANYWHERE with doc. You don't need to explode a gen. You don't need to run across the whole map or find a teammate.
-
Just make it so that headshots instadown survivor with iri head. I think this was done in a ptb a while ago but was actually added to Huntress' kit. That idea was scrapped. Not sure why they didn't implement this to iri head instead for a quick fix.
-
I think it's just a matter of perspective. I honestly don't mind if a survivor d/c's to give the other survivor hatch because I still essentially win by getting a 3k. Sure, a 4k would be a nice cherry on top but the fact that the survivor had to resort to such a method and lose bps/a pip to get 1 person out is still a win for me.
It's the same as a killer facecamping me after I run them for for a number gens, allowing my teammates to get out. The fact that I outplayed them, got my teammates out, and made them resort to such a method is enough win for me.
-
Killer can be easy mode because there are a lot of survivors and most survivors aren't that good. Against good players, killer is by no means easy unless you're using a cheesy build like spam shock doctor, forever freddy, iri huntress, crack/curve billy, or stridor spirit.
If a killer decides to tunnel one person out of the game or they disconnect/suicide after the first down, then survivor does become hard especially if you're solo. Having to carry potato teams makes games harder as well. If you have complained about any of these specific situations, I would completely agree with you.
However, I haven't played the game for 7 weeks because of the release of Doom, RE3, and FFV11R, and I got to rank2 within 2 days. Survivor is by no means hard mode, just tedious when killers use certain builds/tunnel or you have potato teammates.
-
Spirit is actually a perfectly fine killer... if stridor wasn't a thing. I believe both sides can agree with that. Stridor should do what the description says which is increase the volume of breathing rather than moaning while injured.
-
Taking away addons was the most dumb and unnecessary thing that BHVR has ever done. Literally, noone cared about it and having addons after escapes was around for 3.5+ years. When you take something away, you have to add/rework things to make it either more fun or balanced.
There was no thought into making this decision as well as the Legion nerf. Also, the toolbox/map change came months after the ruin rework. It just goes to show that noone in bhvr actually plays this game and those that apparently do don't really have a say when it comes to decision making.
-
Shelter woods, rotten fields, and wrecker's yard simply because they're boring. They should COMPLETELY rework these maps and make them more interesting/interactive like the saloon with breakable walls and whatnot.
In addition to some of the maps you mentioned, Hawkins also needs some slight tweaking because most of the pallets and the second floor windows are complete death traps. The best way to fix Hawkins is to make most of the pallets mindgameable like Lery's but make the map smaller to compensate. Maybe add some more windows as well on the first floor.
-
Before sounds got bugged, you can just listen to footsteps and breathing with maximum volume on your headphones. I guess spirit is slightly harder because of that but hey, stridor right? If you're a decent killer who knows basic mindgames, spirit isn't that difficult with a good set of headphones, especially if all sounds get fixed. If you play spirit with terrible sound or no sound, I guess it can be a challenge but who the hell plays with that handicap.
She does require skill but the skillcap is quite low like freddy. Once you learn how to use their abilities effectively, there's a higher likelihood of you downing them quickly than them escaping you. With that said, I still enjoy playing spirit just to see the dumb things people do to try to counter her sometimes.
-
Base doc is actually good enough to have multiple builds work with him. Not everyone does well with what many would consider the optimal build for doc or any killer. Also some would like to use meme addons and perks for fun so you all should take that into consideration.
-
The devs have a terrible habit of doing the right things at the wrong time. Ruin should have been nerfed with the upcoming patch. Addons should be removed but with a little more consideration.
Half of the addons and offerings on a bloodweb are useless for survivor and just wastes bp after you get every skill. You have to go through multiple bloodwebs to get the addons you want like green batteries, low amp filament, and charges for medkits. Addons should have been removed AFTER removing or reworking most of the useless crap on the bloodweb like shrouds, green keys, and luck offerings.
A single game of killer can get me all of the useful addons/offerings I want on a single bloodweb. If you think that removing addons for survivors at this given time time is a good idea, you're just being biased. I can understand that many killer mains hated playing through the ruin change, myself included, but making things unfun and more tedious isn't healthy for any side.
-
It's not just the ptb, I've noticed that Gas heaven randomly spawns very few pallets quite a few times. I've had games as killer where I've only encountered pallets for the first minute of the match and then never again. The other two maps I encountered this problem with are both of the Yamaoka maps.

@Aneurysm said:
One free aura perk for all solos, out of kindred/bond/empathy/aftercare/better together.
Please no urban evasion or self care base tho, there's few perks I hate more when soloing.
This is something I can get behind and would honestly make the solo que experience much more palatable. Something else I think that should be added is a colored ranking indicator in the lobby. The number is unnecessary and they had this taken this away from the game earlier. But honestly, I don't want to be playing in a lobby with a red rank who decided to bring their 2 brown rank friends to play with them.
-
Just loop him normally and drop pallets earlier if you see the shocking animation. Most players don't know how to shock properly anyways, myself included. He still suffers from lack of mobility and can still be genrushed. He is pretty much god tier on smaller maps though.
-
You probably just got dedicated which is like a running gag now (pathetically so). If the killer is vpning or has has a crappy connection, you're not going to have a good time.
I know you're affected by fast vaults but it affects dropping pallets as well. Check out this vid and fast forward to 19:52.
-
Haven't heard people mention the one thing that stops doctor from being god tier and that is his mobility. In any small map he's a solid A tier but as soon as he gets a big map, he takes a very long time to get from point A to point B as well as being an M1 killer. It's something clown, trapper, pig, bubba, and ghostface suffer from as well. Therefore, he needs to make it up in other ways such as having a strong chase mechanic, time wasting through madness, and easier tracking. The one thing we can experiment with is to let his shock only affect vaults, but that might make him too weak on bigger maps. If map size was less variable, the possibility for this nerf would be higher.
-
I just hate how like legion, he had so much potential but kinda fell flat. His addons are uninspiring and boring which add nothing to his playstyle unlike Hag. You could've had an addon that replaces the rail with an actual bullet but tremendously increase reload time. You could've had an addon that increases the range of the rail and give the gun a scope. You could've had an addon that decreases the range of the rail but has a bigger hitbox similar to a shotgun. However, none of these were taken into consideration and we have a low effort killer made like Bubba.
-
Either make it so that only headshots or shots over 24-28 meters instadown survivors. That would be an easy and fair fix.
-
I understand where OP is coming form but this is the worst example OP could've posted. This just goes to show that you can 4k with the worst killer/perks/addons, unintentionally insinuating killer is op and second chance perks do jack in the long run.
-
@ToastyBois said:
I would agree, but that could become busted quickly. Plus if killers get the 5th perk slot it could literally be game breaking, ie a hex build. There are only 5 totems that spawn, and if you were to run haunted with 4 other hexes, there aren’t enough totems.
That would be an easy fix by limiting the amount hex perks a killer can bring to 4 or having the fifth perk hex slot light up when haunted grounds is broken. It shouldn't be that difficult to code. I'm all for killers having 5 perks and I always thought killers should have 5 perks to go up against 12 survivor perks. However, to balance this, I would nerf all slowdown perks and toolboxes to increase killer/survivor interaction rather than have an m1 simulator game. On a similar note, they should just remove mending from this game and replace it with a broken status effect.
-
I think a lot of people forget that the survivor has to find the hatch. Half the time I have a key (which I bring into or find in like .01% of my games), I can't even find the hatch. If I bring a key, it's an easy tunnel or Franklin's. In the case of moris, they're guaranteed kills after hooking and downing the same survivor. As frustrating it is for killers, it's equally frustrating for solo survivors who have a derp team and a key is their only saving grace.
-
Make it so that you can only instadown w/ headshots. I think many people would get behind this.
-
Skirt needs to be higher up. Make it a fleece/cotton sweater rather than a bomber jacket. It would look better to have the sleeve longer with pink cuffs. Hoodie string looks better flat as well. Hood needs to hang down more to see more of her hair and ughh.. those bangs. They need fixing. Unfortunately, some of these requests are impossible due to the 3 piece rule. But darn, this does not live up to the hype.
-
Got this done in 3 games by just playing normally and looking for hatch after gens were done. Burned a springwood twice because hatch spawns are pretty predictable but it was by no means difficult.
-
The Masochist. Come on at least some of you were thinking this.
