I figured. He must be using addons to reduce the time it takes to shock again. They need to look at that.

He takes 1 second to charge and cant do another shock for another 1.5 seconds, then needs to charge again for 1 second. That means he's shocking roughly every 3.5 which has a delay of .75 seconds (.45 seconds with double discipline). You are stunned for 2.5 seconds, but unhooking it self takes 1 second. 3.5 seconds total between unhook attempts, identical to how much he can shock but he still has that detonation delay, meaning you should have that small window where the unhook should go through as long as youre timing it correctly

  • All you have to do to counter act needing to hit a wall is bump in place and immediately rush forward.

The removal of tokens when breaking a pallet is warranted

  • You cant unhook if he shocks, but the delay between shocks should be long enough to be able to save inbetween them

One thing to consider with all of this, is certification. Right now we can put things on the PTB branch of steam with relative ease, even if the build is not fully polished - all translations done etc. That is not something we could do on part of the main game, also the certification process takes time, our production timelines would have to change pretty drastically meaning there would be less time for changes to the game etc.

Even for some of the smaller changes? Every killer change in this patch as far as Im aware are just small number tweaks. Can there not be a limited time gamemode where its only those killers that can be played with their slightly modified stats?

  • That'd actually be so dope lol

I know quite a few myself but I'm not sure which ones have been patched. 9.5.0 did introduce a supposed bug fix but my favorite on Mothers Dwelling is still possible so…

No it was recent. It was right after the Comeback patch. I been Maining Unknown for years and he has never shoot his UVX and M1ed at the same time.

I Assure you its a new bug and its been a problem this entire patch.

I had an old friend of mine show me this and the last time I spoke to them it was over a year ago (ok i just checked and it was actually a few months ago BUT STILL)

    So no, its not new

EDIT: Could be that the frequency of it has been made more consistent, but she did find a way to do it consistently it just had tricky timing

  • Nostromo, Toba and Badham have been plaguing my games for the past few months. doodoo maps

  • As far as Im aware this has been a thing for well over a year now.

  • if they do add crosshairs they need to be customizable

The Trickster one is horrendous and makes it harder to aim if anything

I havent messed around with ricochet knives that much since the update because his add ons actually have variety now, but its def something I can mess around with.

Thats makes even less sense. Youre mostlikely to know much faster if its a stealth killer or not. It literally wont change much at all.

I don't care what killer you are, if you haven't done anything in the first minute of the game, you are doing something wrong.

  • Just make it so the first minute of the game the icon is hidden

    bada bing bada boom

  • As a long time Trickster player I can confidently say he is stronger but you definitely have to be locked in and hit your knives. Not only do you have less of them but you're not getting main event every half a second allowing you to mindlessly spam.

Now, is he stronger in the sense where he can now compete with the strongest killers in the game? No, but he doesn't have to because not all killers need to be S tier. In the end they made him much more rewarding to play with more skill expression and with that, a lot more fun. The only things I would like to see changed are a revert to his knife count, reduce or remove the extra slow down from consecutive throws, and fix that god awful S rank visual for the survivor point of view. Its ugly ah hell.

  • because bread tastes better than key

  • Spraying and praying is something you want to avoid, but obviously there are times where holding down the button is the correct play. Most common areas for this is at shorter loops or when a survivor is going in a straight line to make it to a pallet or window.

Tap firing is mainly when a survivor has a bit of distance (lets say one end of shack to the other, but not necessarily at shack it self) you want to use something you would do in a lot of shooters. If the survivor is moving from side to side, be patient with your throws and wait until they run back into your "crosshair" (middle of the screen). If their movement is very exaggerated where they lose a lot of distance you can even put away the knives to pull them out when you're closer, or even just go for the M1 if their injured.

Also try to practice quickly throwing around corners. That's a very important skill and in some cases it can trigger "thread the needle" which builds up your rank very quickly

  • @niteowl said:

you've got lots of knives and aren't punished heavily for missing, so try to weave in shots whenever you can. Similar to huntress, trickster can also shred health states very quickly without losing much distance at close range, so if you can, try to get hits with your power over your M1 if the situation permits.

As for the style meter it goes up faster if you dont miss your shots, so dont just spray and pray. And once you have S rank, try to guarantee main event will land lots of knives (IE get close first, or use it when they've got nothing to hide behind) so that it refunds more style.

Holding W is a big counter though since he doesnt need to deal with pallets at lots of loops. There are some perks you could run to combat this if you so choose: Fearmongerer is great at dealing with SB, but if you want something more generalist you could run trail of torment which is what I like to do :D

Im sorry but that first tip of him not being punished for missing aint it. For 4.6 Trickster I would agree, but with the lower knife count, him slowing down heavily from consecutive throws, and especially him being 4.4 now you cant afford to have to leave to reload mid chase. You need to be more precise than ever with his blades to not only keep up the pressure but to maintain your rank which in turn builds even more pressure. The faster throw rate and pull out time allows you to get away with hits (some times even downs) previous Trickster could only dream of having, so its very important to keep up that style rank.

  • Pretty sure mobile had like a small puff of smoke right before a skill check would appear.

Could be wrong though, last time I played it was in beta lol

  • and all I wanna do is play the twink and twinkette with knives 😩

One thing I'd love to dig into more here is the discussion around The Trickster's movement speed, as I think the "why" is an important piece of this.

Is there anything specific you've encountered while playing The Trickster that makes the 4.4 m/s speed feel frustrating?

The main thing and Im sure youve seen as many have said it is how effective just holding W. During chase it makes sense considering his counterplay is going behind cover, and bringing his laceration down to 6 while also making him 115 would simply not be enjoyable to go against since now he gets his cake and eat it too

So what I would propose to keep him being able to deal with situations like this, is make him 115% but the moment someone gains a stack of laceration he goes down to 110. That way he deals with people pre running while staying at that slower movement speed exclusively in chase. (Also helps him whenever he doesnt have any knives)

  • From most high level Trickster players that Ive seen, general consensus is that this is a side grade rather than a nerf. If anything Id consider it a buff now that they increased his movement speed while throwing knives. Is it much of a buff? No, but it didnt have to be. When reworking a character the main focus shouldnt be viability, it should be making the character more enjoyable all around. There was no depth with Trickster before, other than a style system that had very little impact outside of camping.

This rework was meant for his mains, and as a long time player of him I am fully satisfied

  • Full on rework, what we have in DbD is not The Nemesis, its his little cousin The Adversary

  • As someone who plays him quite a lot, its mainly a side grade that has the potential to make him better with a few tweaks.

His lethality has increased quite a lot in open areas, and the faster draw speed helps immensely at high wall loops to quickly throw a knife around a corner which sort of compensates the reduction in movement speed. The problem are places with long sight lines where a survivor can just hold W. Being 110 and making him slower while throwing knives means he loses a tone of distance even if you happen to hit all your knives. Trickster already has this issue on live but its gonna be even worst and thats the biggest blow he's gonna suffer from. Main Event is also just really underwhelming. It being just flat out longer instead of dynamic is nice, but you move so slowly that it just makes it extremely awkward to use.

Personally I would make it so you no longer automatically throw knives while activating it, so that you can at least gain a bit more movement speed. I would also keep his current movement speed while in the throw state but still gradually slow down. Right now I feel its a bit too much when also paired with him being 4.4

This is because unlike Object of Obsession, Deerstalker has an additional (albeit unmentioned in the game) restriction in that it only applies to auras which have a set time duration (similar to Lethal Pursuer) so it works against Scene Partner aura reading for example but not Kindred.

Applying this to Vecna's magic items, it works against the ones for dispelling sphere, mage hand, and flight of the damned because each of them reveal Vecna's aura for 2 seconds. But the Fly item reveals his aura while flying and not for a set amount of time so it doesn't work with that one.

    this guy is so smart

  • I also learned it works with Vecnas Magic Items! (except for Fly weirdly enough)

  • K first of all, that makes it even worst

Second of all, not what Im referring to

Its mainly that there are people who only started playing after the prestige rework which to me (a long time player since mid 2017) doesnt feel that long ago, but 4 years is still a good chunk of time.

  • Why are yall down voting this individuals fun 😩😩

  • @cogsturning said:

I thought when you hit p100 you'd no longer be able to use the bloodweb. It would just end there.

Seeing this and remembering that the prestige rework has almost been in the game for 4 years makes me feel old 😩😩😩

    ^^^ Yes please 🙏

  • For dropping sure I guess, but the rest just seems unnecessary.

  • I wouldnt mind a 3rd Chapter, but honestly part of me would like it to be something similar to All Kill Comeback where its a rework to Nemesis with a new RE map and new Survivor. Idk who theyd pick, but there are plenty of em.

balance, finesse and bound + dh

Balanced Landing and Dead Hard are known as "Exhaustion perks". Upon activating them, you suffer from the Exhaustion status effect for some time, and both Dead Hard and Balanced Landing cannot be activated if you are Exhausted.

In your case the opposite is also true. If you activated Dead Hard and become Exhausted, now Balanced Landing wont activate.

Usually you dont wanna pair multiple Exhaustion perks together because of this, so I would recommend switching out Balanced Landing or Dead Hard for something else :)

I do notice that on this map I usually hover on 70fps, and I have a 5070ti with 12gb of gpu. They gotta fix these weird ass optimization issues

Thats weird since I have a 5070 and I dont have any issues whatsoever

The only time I ever dipped below 120 was on PTB, and even then it hovered around 100. They did say they were aware of the optimization issues though, so hopefully itll be fixed before they reach live

  • Probably just the easiest way of doing things since you can see them using a map to reveal all auras

Or I can huff some hopium and see this as a teaser for old dbd

  • Every I voted for was selected which makes me happy, but "The Judgement" is just... bad. I personally picked "The Messenger" because my idea of this killer is that it misinterprets its beliefs, and therefor punishes people completely unjustified

EDIT: Realized this post for whatever reason wasnt finished, fixed

  • Making it CTRL seems like a no brainer.

In the mean time though, if youre going for a grab Im pretty sure that as long as the prompt is there you can hold m1. Even if the game tries to pull a fast one, you at least still get a lunge

  • I always tried to 4% because I didn't know how hook stages worked. I thought that as long as I got healed before I got hooked again, that I wouldn't be in the struggle phase

Kept rushing into lockers since I didn't know it made a notification

Didn't know that Borrowed Time only activated when in the Terror Radius, so every time I didn't see it activate I thought it was a bug. (This was back in 2017)

Cant forget Exhaustion recovery while running ;)

  • dawg even the forums gonna be flooded at this rate

  • Oh boy..

-Tricksters maniacal laugh when hitting a high combo

-Trickster Laceration build up, as well as the max warning and final blade hit

    -Dredge Nightfall

    -Henry Worldbreaker activation

    -Pyramid Head PotD hit

    -Trapper catch

    and finally...

-kicking the ######### out of Victor

    Honorable mentions:

    Oni's old POV chase music

    Trickster PTB music

Ghost Face's old "lullaby..?" (When in power he used to have these garbled sound of sirens back when he was first released. It was then shortly removed since it gave him away pretty easily)

  • Y'know I never knew I needed a female Trickster in my life but DAMN

Map looks absolutely fantastic as well, I am so hyped for this.

  • For a second there I thought there was a dev update that I missed...

Im hopeful that it comes out in the next update but I feel like its one of those things that got pushed along with everything else these past few months

The pallet breaking seems to be a huge paint point though. I'd take that change over any of the others, personally. I want to give Blight a little more on his turning, as that should be at his most lethal imo.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4055874#Comment_4055874

What I'm concerned about is that someone went on a 2k+ winstreak, and I can assure you he didn't do that by just holding W and beating through every pallet.

Agreed here. If this is possible, and has happened on more than one occasion, then I really feel it deserves a pass for changes simply based on this. I might be an outlier there, but if a killer can consistently get 100+ win streaks… yeaaahhh…

On that note, I'd like to know thoughts on that number? For me, 100+winstreaks are a metric to say 'If this is achievable consistantly,' maybe make a pass on the killer? Should it be 200 wins? 500? Thanks!

Winstreaks shouldnt be a metric on their own when it comes to balance. There are people out there who have gone on 100+ winstreaks with weaker killers and by no means do these killers need nerfs. Its more a metric of skill since its not like your average joe can pull it off so easily, but it can get to a point (like the 2k+) where its a bit ridiculous and is a sign that something needs to change. Its why I tried to tackle the power it self, and not his base movement speed
