COH doesn't need a nerf at all. If it did, there are much worse perks and addons at play that could take a hit. COH is great for solo queue as you can encourage your teammates to actually heal themselves.
-
The game is killer-sided in the majority of games simply because solo queue players are generally some of the most braindead gamers you'll run across. They'll sandbag their teammates intentionally or not with pallets, running the killer at their teammates on the objective, farming their teammates for points in terrible saves, or simply not doing anything whatsoever productive.
Here's an example: I had just gotten out of a game where a Claudette player went down on top of a hooked Nancy with Kindred. Instead of moving, she stayed directly on top of the Nancy with Leatherface there. I was able to save Claudette with a pallet stun once he picked her up. Instead, she just stood there AFK. Nancy ends up in her second hook stage because of Leatherface camping and Claudette encouraging a camping session. Leatherface downs the AFK Claudette and camps her out with the Nancy running back in to die with her. Dwight gets found immediately after in a brief, ten-second chase. Dwight disconnected soon after being hooked, as he decided to go down on top of the basement to a Leatherface. I was able to escape through the hatch after completing my third generator.

How even? I'm going to focus on Wraith, because his was somehow the worst possible idea for a nerf they could have done to him.
His extended lunge was an anti-looping tool for a killer with no anti-loop. Wraith is a lowbie stomper who suffers greatly in higher MMR when survivors know how to evade the killer. When they can loop, he has nothing, but for a brief time, the extra lunge let him play around shorter loops and some windows (such as shack window.) He was still quite loopable, always finds a mortal enemy in windows, but had more options in some loops than playing Benny Hill Simulator. When survivors can't loop, he destroys them, because he counters holding W more than anyone else, has high map presence outside of chase, and can't be seen until he's close. Less skilled survivors struggle with attentiveness to surroundings and utilizing map resources, so Wraith is newbie kryptonite.
Killing his lunge destroyed his only tool to compete with stronger teams while doing diddly squat to his ability to massacre weaker players. It lowered his skill ceiling without affecting the skill floor. When it first happened, it was a rare buff where it didn't actually make the killer harder to deal with at the bottom of the game, while noticeably improving performance in middle and upper levels (because if you don't run for a window or pallet, the extended lunge damaged you a second faster than it will now - but that isn't really significant, you're still getting caught.)
I can argue the issues with the others, too. Everyone liked Billy except for a few addons and they completely gutted all of his addons in response, in addition to overheat, making it easier to read him in chase, and giving his FoV drunk goggles. Cenobite was similar to Wraith; pub stomper who had his tools to deal with stronger teams taken away, though at least his changes did make it easier for the pubs to handle him (though solo queue still suffers in general against him, because lack of info is enormous against his box.) Deathslinger was annoying in the 1v1, but his 1v4 was always terrible and now he's worse than Huntress in every conceivable way because everything that differentiated his playstyle from hers got whacked with the nerf hammer. But seriously? Wraith was a wee bit OP?
Yes, cherrypick Wraith specifically. I have him P3 Level 50 and could regularly beat SWF while stacking multiple slowdowns like every other killer. Wraith is one of the easiest killers to play within the game. No, he shouldn't be given free Coup De Grâce for spamming his bell cloak, which is a stealth tool.

It wouldn't be the first time.
*Cries in Wraith. And Cenobite. And Slinger. And Billy.*
Oh, no. The killers who deserve a nerf got hit with it!
Every single example deserved the changes they got.
-
She's not fun to play against and generally denies the most enjoyable part of the game, chases. No, she's not the strongest, but I consider her a failure in design, too. If the best choice a survivor has is holding W, the killer is a failure.

How to tell someone is new to the game in a single post.

Because Survivors can easily stop NOED but because of Boons they refuse to Do Bones anymore. I have seen Boon users have a Map with all the addons to find totems easily so that one survivor could easily get rid of NOED if it Procs. But again most survivors dont respect NOED enough to care hence when it does Proc now they say its OP or should be nerfed because they are not doing bones anymore or worry more about thier Boons.
Not saying thier shouldn't be some QoL changes to it but some of the suggestions are downright nerfs to gut it.
I don't have an issue with NOED in its current state. My post is aimed at their opinion toward one side receiving nerfs being justified, yet NOED is not. If NOED is already balanced, then so should the others be.
I'd personally remove all the Ultra Rare addons on both sides. They're nothing but cheap anyway.
-
Dead Hard doesn't need a nerf until they buff the rest of the other exhaustion perks to being worthwhile choices. Many exhaustion perks are very bad and only work in niche scenarios.

As I've stated multiple times, NOED is fine. The rest of the changes are cool
How one-sided if you think the rest are balanced but NOED isn't.
-
I wouldn't change DH at all unless we're nerfing bullshit on both sides.

if you don't like what they say why don't you just go to a different topic
This is a discussion board, not an echo chamber.
-
DS shouldn't have the skill check portion applied any longer; all it serves is a form of gatekeeping the best anti-tunnel perk from newer players who struggle with skill checks.
-
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong and melodramatic. With that being said, you should play something else if you're that upset.
-
With that change, nobody would bother running COH, and it goes back to being a waste of space, clogging the blood web. A group version of Self-Care is slow and very much a waste of a perk slot if that's all it brings, especially adding 16 more seconds just to boon a totem. Everyone would ignore the perk and rush the generators.
-
Solo queue is generally horrible, but I find that my games that turn out terrible are in part because most console players lack a brain or are incredibly selfish.
-
Queue times for survivors are instant or within a minute. The wait times will spike during the night hours.
Honestly, it seems like some people enjoy making threads to cry about killers in some capacity, regardless of the accuracy of their claims.

So your solution is to be "unfun" and play those killers?
It's no solution, the event is heavily flawed. Most killers are bypassing the snowman mechanic entirely by using their power on it, so survivors get no reward for the free M1.
I wouldn't call it 'Mettle of Snowman' in the slightest when you can easily prevent anyone from getting the rewards.
-
Disagree. There's a number of killers that completely bypass the snowman mechanic with their power, making survivors a free M1 that punishes them for bothering with it to get a seasonal reward.
-
She can easily stomp solo queue because there's no communication to destroy her web of traps.
-
Nobody cares and you should play the other side, specifically solo queue where your team doesn't do anything productive and lasts less than ten seconds in a chase.
-
You might as well remove solo queue as an option to even play the game with this idea.
-
Big joke. Try playing solo queue at night where you're better off running endgame builds than actual perks because your teammates are worthless and go down in seconds.
-
The Solo queue experience is horrible during the night hours. I end up running builds containing perks like Adrenaline, Wake Up, Spine Chill, or Left Behind.
Regular builds simply do not work when your teammates don't last long enough in chases or disregard the objective entirely. I get far more value out of these perks when I know it's going to go south after loading into the lobby.

yeah but doing 3 generators is holding M1 for a couple of minutes so thanks for proving my point it is less stressful
Ah, yes. Holding M1 for a couple of minutes, after you've already run the killer for a couple of minutes, yet your teammates do nothing. You don't play solo queue very often to even acknowledge the issues within it.

I toggle between the two all the time. Solo Queue is not 50% as stressful as Killer.
Not even 10%.
Meanwhile, in solo queue, you'll need to do 3+ generators every single match while your teammates ignore the objective, run around without a purpose, and sandbag you whenever caught.

This comes up regularly and we have stated, that no there are no plans to make Legacy available to all players, it was given out one time for those that went through the very early days of the game. It is not something that will be given out again.
This would be fine for a statement if the developers took their product seriously and did anything toward those that can hack in the items you so desperately state are unavailable. Even now, cheating and applying these Legacy outfits are possible because of the disinterest of the developer to tackle cheating.
Whenever I see a player using these outfits, I don't assume they've gotten it legitimately whatsoever.
-
I'll continue to enjoy playing as the killer, you can stop so my queues are faster. Thanks!

this is a god damn lie. The survivors is easy to get rank yes. especially if you just play in a group. However killer is for sure not easy by any means. you really have to play perfect or you just get screwed the whole game there is no in between. After like rank 6 you get nothing but rank 5 or lower survivors like 90% of the time that are most likely grouped or as stated have 10000 hours in the game. It is in no way easy to get to red ranks at all. Youre lying or never play killer before if you think thats true.
It is easy to hit rank one playing as the killer; you're just new or have no idea how to play. Survivor is much more difficult to hit rank one in solo when the teams you'll get sandbag and leave you to die on your first hook.
I just got out of a match as a rank one survivor; my team was green, yellow, and brown ranks against a red rank. This is the true worst Dead by Daylight experience, and it's far more frequent than a sweaty SWF at red ranks.
-
Playing as the Killer is fine in red ranks. It may not be fun playing against groups running the same meta build. Beyond that, I would argue solo queue players need buffs, or several killers and perks need to be toned down.
-
You won't enjoy it. If the team is playing to win, they'll all be running variations of the same strong meta build.
Four Dead Hard. Four Decisive Strike. Four Unbreakable. Three Borrowed Time.
-
Hacking in this game is too easy. I had played a game yesterday with a Feng that could auto-heal themselves to full and do all the generators in seconds.
-
Haddonfield is fine; most of you complaining are just bad at the game and echo some YouTuber.
I enjoy playing it as the killer, and it's really not bad at all beyond Dead Hard going through specific railings.
-
Demogorgon can more than likely continue to receive balance changes through numerical values being altered, though his power will stay as-is.

So all you do is nit pick on a couple of seconds?
Yep, i see now why you consider this combo strong.
I brought it up because you're lying and being ridiculous. If you're not willing to post something factual, I'm going to give you the correct information.

Exactly!
Just to prove this, my last match against a Ruin using Bubba. We didn´t even bother searching for it.
His build doesn't offer many advantages as there's a lack of synergy between the perks. All you're showing is that you went against a new Bubba player with half a build at tier two.
They're running Ruin and Corrupt. A perk that encourages survivors to move around the map and is more likely to find the Ruin. Any experienced player wouldn't recommend using these perks together.

Oh i see it sometimes. When i hear 2 thunderstrucks within the first 60 seconds. Yeah, those 10 seconds it cost survivors to cleanse this combo really made a difference!
You can't even cleanse a totem in ten seconds unless you're bringing Counterforce and Leader.
If the survivors are cleansing a totem in ten seconds, you should be happy they're bringing off-meta perks.
-

the point exactly is that your having to use ruin & undying just to ensure that the hex totem remains standing long enough for it to be useful. Meaning if a killer is wanting to center a build around ruin he would only have two slots remaining, making the killers perk options more restrictive.
Yes, and that gives you more than enough to throw on variations of the same build. Ruin and Undying offer you time from the opposing team needing to look for totems around the map.
Hexes don't need a buff; the majority of perks do. The fact that the best builds are seemingly nothing but slowdown perks shows a definite issue within the game.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2427828#Comment_2427828
You´re like 6+ months late for that statement. Undying Ruin is a trash combo that will lose you matches.
That's a lie.
Ruin Undying is far from trash, or you wouldn't see it used in the majority of matches. It's a staple in the meta because it buys you time. Will it win you matches in every game? No. Can it win you matches based entirely on being present? Yes.
-
Hex totems aren't pointless at all in their current design. They're some of the strongest perks that are hard set into the meta to the point a buff is simply unnecessary. The fact that Ruin Undying can win you games entirely based on being slotted shows how unnecessary a buff would be.
Buffing actually weak perks nobody uses would be far better than dedicating more time and resources toward hexes.
-
It probably depends on when you play the game in your specific timezone. Matchmaking will always be questionable late at night on weekdays regardless of MMR.
-
This post doesn't make much sense. If what you're seeking is to goof off and have fun, you'll still be more than capable of doing that. SBMM is more likely to place you against players who aim to play them out in more relaxed sessions.
Draw triangles to your heart's content, and don't think too hard about an invisible score.

I think Laura from Evil Within would fit the bill. Give her like a Oni dash, but instead be like a spider crawl sprint. Also some way to teleport through pools of blood like she does in the game.
As neat as that sounds, she'd essentially be a reskinned Demogorgon.

I can do it to.
Hard disagree honestly. I love getting console players because they waste so much time doing ######### nothing.
-
As someone who's grinded out all the rifts, I couldn't care less if they're placed into the store at a later date for those who would rather not play the game to ridiculous lengths.
-
The first build seems predictable as half are teachable perks on Feng while you're playing as Feng. I would recommend branching out to be more of a wild card. Lithe on Feng especially would lead me to think you're using her other starting perks.
-
It shouldn't have a difficult skill check anymore. There's no reason for it beyond a relic of the past. A good survivor will always hit the skill check and it makes zero difference having it. Currently, that skill check only causes the perk to be gatekept out of new or struggling players who need it the most.

And what of perks like wglf, unbreakable and soulguard if I had a hex up? I'd lose the interaction either way. Getting a down isn't nearly as impactful or certain as a hook. I don't believe I should have to eat a DS unless I'm legitimately tunneling. By eating that DS I lose pressure a slug and a hooked survivor. I just think I should be able to punish a risky play without having to tunnel.
WGLF - Someone had to get off a generator to get them.
Unbreakable - Once per game and rarely used.
Soulguard - You're running a hex that isn't cleansed, why would you complain? This perk is generally only used in SWF anyway.
If they're going to body block, let them. Eat the DS if it's early enough in the match and give them the attention they're seeking since they'd no longer have DS available.
-
@Corns_Flake said:

I mean as outlined in the post I wait the 12 seconds, assuming they didn't start running to a resource once they realise I'm counting down and then I'm forced to slug if I don't want to gamble a DS. I don't you should be able to force killers to tunnel the unhooked survivor.
Then you're gaining pressure regardless, as someone would have to come to get them if you're not picking up.
I see this as a nonissue. It's normally better to get DS out of the game early; if it's later in the game, any pressure is good.
-
Borrowed Time is fine as it is. If the survivor is willing to body block with the endurance, all you'd need to do is wait out twelve seconds. It's not hard to play around unless they're already at a gate, but you've lost at that point regardless.

Sure you did playing on mcds wifi (sorry being Latin doesn't mean he is poor) playing in another country (once again I was born in the usa but I do visit mexico)
Latinos hanging out playing...they cant have 100 dollar stream mediacom service🙄🤑
So besides attacking me did you see the huntress video and want to blame it on bad ping? Or does that not fit your narrative?
I have no interest in talking to you because you want to turn this into an issue with your race for whatever reason when nothing about that was brought up.
You continue to bring up the cost of the internet when that doesn't even matter, nor does it matter what company it's from. Your ping is what is dictating what client the server chooses to prefer. If you or your friend are getting seconds of delay before the pallet stun, you can't say you deserve to get the hit.
I'm not attacking you, I'm pointing out that your story doesn't add up, and your threads show you're acting overdramatic about Pallet Validation, which is a good mechanic that sorts out some very janky hits.

Nope you called me a liar so pallet validation has to be a hoax otherwise everything you said was a lie🤔
I guess everyone is being overdramatic over this hoax I mean I am the only one talking about it 🙄
I never called you a liar; your story, however, sounds heavily exaggerated.
Everyone isn't being overdramatic about Pallet Validation. You sound like one of the few that aren't close to a server while playing on a lackluster connection.
Having gone against killers from other countries in the past due to a VPN isn't fun nor is it fair to take a hit after throwing the pallet and see them stunned seconds later.
