Removing sound cues from survivors is bad. Survivors need the sound cues too. If we aren't playing with aura perks it's how we find teammates, just like how killers find survivors.

Your teammates are technically the ones holding the game hostage by refusing to do generators and leave. It is only against the rules to block all survivors simultaneously.
Not bannable, not reportable, just accept the 1k and move on.
He literally can't move on because he's blocked. He would need to commit an offense himself and DC to move on.

I only play QPC. Not fond of forced 2-2-2 matches. I already got the Torb, Rein and Moira skin for the Christmas, next saving up for Mei that penguin suit is cute as heck. I just finished Anna's gingerbread challenge which is why I'm right now typing while on hook in DBD. Hahhaha

I'm aware. That's why it's infuriating for me as a solo survivor when I'm the only person playing injured, and I'm the only person working on gens.

Yeah I had a feeling. It's absolutely maddening for me lately. I often see red rank survivors on console wit Self Care. I get teammates who self care after every legion forces them to mend. Maybe I need to turn on cross play and see if my teammates improve.
Now I get why you have such crappy teammates. You're playing on console. I don't want to sound like a PC elitist (even though I am) but the quality of play between PC and console is pretty big.
To be fair a lot of Solo-Q PC players also use Self Care, but as Shyguyy said usually they will finish a gen before self-caring.

"Is anyone out there having fun tonight?"
Well, I had a blast tonight with family & friends, but . . . we were playing Overwatch. About to go read some before bed, now. I just wanted to see what was going on in the Fog, but I haven't launched this game since Blight's release.
Oh I was playing that too just an hour ago. Hahhaa.
BTW nice to see you Klmeran as I recall last time we were also talking Overwatch (this was on my other account that got banned).
-
If only I had a friend to play with I'd try it.
-
All the time.
Being comfortable with playing injured is required at high level play. For stealth players like me Iron Will makes it such that it's not such a big deal. We can play injured and still avoid the killer most of the time.
Good loopers can loop most killers on just one health state. Besides they all have DS and Dead Hard anyway.
-
Hey you're right. I just tried it. I go from 120fps (capped) to 3fps in like 4 clicks.

About 10 minutes. Not bad for this time of night.
That's awful. My queue time right now is 10 seconds. It'll become something like 5 minutes later tonight but right now I have no problems finding games and the sweaty killers are all asleep.
-
I'm having fun. I swear Meat, your region has the worst survivor players.
-
I think they need to change the Twins up a bit. Not because they are OP or anything.
It's because the Twins is a killer who is made to slug and camp. I don't think that's good for the game. We don't need more mechanics that encourage slugging and camping.
-
Challenges are dumb.
Everyone plays stupid not just killers.
-
There was a time when Legion was broken as heck with exploits. That's a time long gone.
Legion is one of the easier killers to verse, because he focuses on disrupting survivors by easily finding them instead of being lethal. He's basically an M1 killer so all you need to do is loop him good. Easier said than done, but more than doable.
While you're working your loop game, some tips:
- When he uses feral frenzy let yourself get hit asap then break line of sight. Don't waste your time running and mending go back to doing what you were, usually a gen while he's off chasing other survivors. Mend when you're about to die. Don't waste time running away to the other side of the map just get back to doing your business.
- Don't hide in lockers. Absolutely no need to do so against Legion.
- Don't selfcare. Legion is not as dangerous as other killers you can afford to be injured most of the game. Selfcare against Legion = autoloss.
-
Everyone has brought this up at one point or another but BHVR doesn't care. They think it's a great idea and part of what makes the game awesome, simulating the duress of the trials.
-
It's like the least toxic thing you can do frankly.
I did this a lot before I would play Myers and jump scare the ######### out of everyone, hang a few people on hook, then let them all escape. I try not to make it too obvious so everyone has a good time.

The grind is meant to keep us playing.
However many online games don't require grinds as they trust their game is fun enough to keep people around. This game should trust the players and reduce the grind by about 75% - Perks need only 1 tier. sharepable perks should start much sooner (level 20,25,30) There is no need to force the hundreds of hours of play just to unlock a ton of perks for some variety.
i'm nearing 500 hours. I have 80% of survivovrs to level 40. I have 1 survivor with all the shareable perks. that is absurd it took this long. (some of that time was unlocking killer perks as well such as BBQ, which is a Huge help in BP grinding.
This. Really good games will have you coming back for the gameplay, not the grind. The people who have been playing this game for thousands of hours do it because the game is fun, not because we find unlocking perks fun. I have 2000+ hours in the game and I haven't needed BP for a long time and I already unlocked everything I want (outside of cosmetics), but I still come back to this to play because its fun.

The mori nerf is fine. What needs to be done is for it to be removed from the blood web and made base-kit.
I just hope the devs are fair and equally nerf keys, allowing only the key holder to escape, with a long animation to unlock the hatch. They also need to make it to where the hatch only spawns once all gens are complete or only one survivor remains.
I actually tend to agree with this.
There are things that need to be removed from the bloodwebs. Like toolboxes and all their addons, green keys, and other stupid stuff that serve no purpose like Moris.
If hatch only spawns when all gens are complete there's no need to nerf keys further. Keys would already be useless at that point and it is on the same level of nerf moris had. No need to limit it to one survivor and no need to limit it with a long animation.
That's like saying to Mori a killer has to press the M1 button for 10 seconds. I mean that's pretty dumb.
Might as well make the key basekit as well at that point. oh wait wasn't that how things were before EGC?

Why would someone prefer staying at a gen and getting 1250 points holding M1 for 80 seconds when you can get 1000 points just holding M1 for 16 seconds? I get that boldness is probably the easiest category to fill but still lol
Well the issue is doing gens opens the gate.
Doing bones doesn't.

You could be right, I don't know. But I don't get too many crossplay players in my matches so I would think it's not a big deal.
Unless the algorithm is screwed up due to including crossplay in the matchmaking pool.
But your explanation is as good as any, I never had issues finding survivor games back before crossplay. I used to get survivor lobbies instantly. These days I get a game in about a minute, 5 minutes during peak time. I'll try disabling crossplay and see how it works out.
-
The story of DBD really. The devs likes to use perks as "fixes" for issues. DS is a fix for tunneling, BT is a fix for camping, yada yada. We all know it's a dumb idea but it's been this way for years.
-
Some people need bloodpoints -- either they're new to the game or a new killer/survivor came out and they want to get lots of BP quickly. I get it.
When I was less than 100 hours into this game I was happy to get a farming killer, and I would farm as killer with survivors every now and then.
Today I just finish the game asap and leave quickly so I can move on to the next game. But that's only because I don't need any more BP and I play the game to play these days instead of grind.

The constant vomit i think is a bug. I’ve gone against plauge many times but I’ve never thrown up as much as I have now so I’m positive it’s a bug. It also was just happening to me and not the other survivors in the match.
Yeah recently I think sometimes it bugs out sometimes.
I fought a Plague last week I think as Steve, I was doing gens and he was literally non-stop puking it was hilarious to watch. I never saw that before usually there's a long interval between pukes.
-
Hag is faster than survivors. She's not the fastest killer (she's one of the slower ones) but she is still faster than any survivor.
Even with buffs like Blood Pact or Hope she is still faster than any Survivor. The only killer that is slower than survivors is Nurse.
Something must be wrong with your settings or your controller or your game.
-
If you were in the chase long enough for Bloodlust to trigger you already won. There is no need to counter it.
You bought enough time for your team to do gens. Having a chase last 30 seconds generally is good enough in this game. Any more than that is just gravy.
Now if you are playing with potatos that's a problem but that's another matter.
-
It's fine dude.
I don't find the game fun to play as Survivor if I'm not using Iron Will. So I always use Iron Will in almost every build.
-
I have seen Wraiths body block the hatch in stealth.

When you look at the "why is X killer so good" Other then the overhate of Gunslinger, Freddy is probably the most commonly complained about killer.
I play him when I need to farm BP as killer because it is absurdly easy to play him and do well. Sometimes I want to watch TV/read a book/ while playing and still want to do good, and Freddy is a good killer for that scenario.
People hate Gunslinger? I thought he's fine. He's also pretty fun to verse. He can easily stomp but he's not boring or annoying to fight against like some killers like Freddy or Doc.
@pseudechis said:
I never understood why he's not that fun to play against. He's just an M1 killer with some mobility shenanigans.
That's like saying Hag is just an M1 killer with some mobility shenanigans.
-
Freddy is just overtuned. At high ranks a lot of people hate playing against him because he is very oppressive. Especially if he runs gen slowdown AND Undying Ruin Tinker on top of it. I get Freddy getting 4Ks without a single gen done sometimes when he runs this kind of build.
-
Trapper is probably the only killer who suffered because of the brightening of the maps.
Every other killer has an easier time because it's much easier to spot survivors now. But for Trapper his maps stick out like a sore black thumb on the white ground. His traps are significantly easier to see these days.

i think you're missing the point. they randomly picked hillbilly to nerf. he was completely fine for years before the nerf, no wonder players are going to be dissatisfied. hillbilly is not harder than before, and that's not why players find him ruined now. the animations were changed for no reason and a boring power gauge was pasted.
saying people are finding a killer unfun because they can't be bothered to put in effort is wrong. i love extreme difficulties in games that i like because they reward skill, effort, and time. but this game doesn't actually reward skill as much as, for example, sekiro does which is why i don't want to put anymore effort to learn anything in this game as long as the survivor side doesn't have to do much to win. even if i spend 1k hours mastering trapper i will still lose to bunch of scamps holding m1 and pressing space for 90% of the game. sorry, not worth it.
Billy nerf wasn't really random. A lot of survivors were complaining that Billy was OP especially with BBQ.
-
Graphical bugs like that are pretty common in this game and have happened on and off for years. There was a time my survivor would be bald in the post game running screen, his or her would disappear. I've also seen my entire head disappear on hook sometimes.
-
I wouldn't know I ran away from the gen to do something else.
-
Is this intended or a bug? I can't imagine it's intended.
-
Wait I just had a brain fart hahahaha. You're right
I was thinking there were 8.
But why was there only 2 on one side. There should be 3 on each side.
-
Nah, it's always been bad. I can't remember a time when it was ever not broken and I've been playing for three years. Maybe during first launch, I don't know much about those days. But they changed the matchmaking and ranking system from back then because it obviously wasn't working.
The reset helped a bit but even during those days people were complaining about matchmaking left and right, and I still remember a lot of seal team survivors kicking the turd out of my rank 20 killer back in the day.
-
Matchmaking is just broken, always has and always will be. BHVR will never figure it out.

In an active chase sounds like footsteps, grass/corn, and breathing are usually masked by the chase music. If the killer isnt in an active chase you would be surprised by how much these sounds stand out.

I don't understand it. I've found hex totems next to generators that are almost done and the person will be repairing the generator on the side right next to the totem. I've had so many matches recently where no one will do gens or cleanse the ruin and only 2 generators will get done because i did them.
This is the problem actually.
Unless you're in SWF, Undying just breaks the game because solos can't coordinate properly to ensure they aren't wasting time and throwing the game. If everyone is doing totems and nobody is doing gens, you will lose If everyone is doing gens and nobody is doing totems you also lose.
One of the reasons why a totem counter is needed for survivors. The devs don't want to remove SWF, but are also hellbent not to bridge the info gap between SWF and Solo Q.

Its supposed to be this way.
Killers are meant to rely on audio cues and crows if a survivor isn’t leaving scratch marks.
It’s what separates the amateurs from the pros.
If this is how it's "supposed to be" then it's ridiculous. He was about 10 meters away and still heard me? While I was sneaking, not leaving any blood trails, no aura, no grunts? And he was even in a chase while I was healing up the tractor, yet he still heard me and made a beeline for me.
That's completely absurd and ridiculous.
@Heartbound said:
To be fair when I'm playing killer I try as hard as I can to make the survivors stop breathing as soon as possible.
To give a serious answer, he probably heard you moving through grass or your footsteps. Yeah he said he heard you breathing, but...I don't think so. I really think he must have heard something else. (Like his own breath.)
If he heard me in the grass (there was no grass) why would he lie about the breathing? Still there was no grass and I was in the tractor healing, he came by chasing a Nea when I was about 70% done healing and he still broke chase with Nea to head straight at me. He heard me and he was pretty far away. Think I'm in the middle of the tractor top and he wasn't hugging the bales or the railing on the side. If a killer can hear your breathin from that distance no wonder stealth doesn't work.
-
@Eleghost said:
Because if you sprint at all your character takes a few seconds to catch their breath. It doesn't happen all the time that you'll find someone because of breathing. Must have had a really good headset.
Was using Urban Evasion to slink away in the corn. I was not breathing at all on my side, not that I could hear anyway. Build was Iron Will, Urban Evasion, Off the Record and Lucky Break. Entire build dedicated to stealth, can't even hide from a killer while completely out of his line of sight.
That is just wrong.

Forcing survivors to bleed out has never been bannable.
Let them bleed if the kill matters that much to you.
-
I disagree. A kill/escape-based ranking system makes far more sense. It shouldn't the simplistic one we had before but if you want matchmaking to ever make sense you have to base it on what actually matters when measuring skill: surviving and killing.
The original system was bad because it didn't weight kills and escaping properly. Here are ways to do adjust it so that it makes sense, so killers who are good at killing are matched up against survivors who are good at surviving. Alternately you could make it about chase times. Because let's be honest the one thing that matters in this game is how fast/long you can end/extend a chase. That along with the metric for winning chases is probably the single most important measure of skill in this game, and it's what determines if killers kill everyone or people escape.
Whatever it is the current emblem system has to go.
-
I don't mind it they put it in as long as I have the option to mute it out.
-
Ah I get it. And I am assuming these linked cosmetics are on the Battlepass at way different ranks?
-
But rank isn't a good measure of skill either with he current emblem system.
When are we going to go back to a kill/survive-based ELO?

I see no reason why a Killer whipped as soundly as he was should continue except to stroke Survivor ego some more and pad game scores. He clearly can't get them, and they know it.
His options here are pretty limited.
It's called being a good sport.
Killers get all angry when survivors DC. This is exactly the same thing. You are throwing the game. Nobody likes throwers and actually throwing the game is against the rules and is even reportable. The survivors are being jerks about it but so was the killer. Maybe if you didn't throw the game they wouldn't harass you.
This isn't about stroking egos that's you projecting your issues on this topic.
Also a lot of killers do the same thing, they will play IF Nurse and slug you all before a single gen is done and will leave everyone on the ground and let them bleed out while doing head nods over your dying corpses.

There has been competition before. Last Year, Hide or Die. They failed. Things would more or less stay the same unless the game was very, very good. DbD already has a fan base, licenses.
There's more to why DbD has persisted when games like it have not. It's known, people are comfortable with it. That won't change unless BHVR really messes up.
There was also the Chinese one, F13 the mobile one something-5. And there was also one that had a name that had something to do with sound. As well as this kiddie one wiht a pumpkin villain. I can't even remember their names. None of them made it big and all of them are pretty much dead. The Chinese one was the most DBD-clone like.
