Agreed.
Also when BHVR "fighting" against toxicity why bots keep tbagging into my face? Maybe it was fun at start, maybe it is fun in a custom game. But definitly not fun after x trials when you got bullied already, then even the bots want to ######### on you
They click flashlights too. Must be part of the machine learning that mimics actual player inputs.

You realize there is no point setting up traps in advance with Waterlog shoe right?
They slow survivors down, you can set them up on loops like Freddy.
-
You don't get a choice as to which perk you use to recover. If you have Plot Twist and you recover, you are recovering while using Plot Twist.
-
She's not supposed to be played the same as Clown, she's a setup killer not a chase killer.
-
The proximity indicator was added as a bandaid fix accessibility option for the hearing impaired. As we now have the visual heartbeat, Sprine Chill was reverted to how it used to work.
-
Agreed. 4 survivor DCs should count as 4 kills. The same way a killer DC counts as 4 escapes.
-
That's intended. Plot Twist says when you recover from the dying state yourself by any means, you gain haste and Plot Twist deactivates.
-
It's already a huge buff to be able retain your item when picking up a killer power. If you need to use it just drop the special item.
The fact that certain special items despawn when dropped, such as EMPs, is by design. If you could freely use either item at any time it would be a big nerf to Singularity.
You can always grab another Tape/EMP
-
Spine Chill still hard counters stealth killers. Particularly the stalky ones.
-
I don't think it's necessary. With the HUD icons you can see what everyone is doing and who is being chased.
With the anti-camping coming later, that could gain HUD indicator too, such as an icon to show a survivors sacrifice meter is slowed, indicating the killer is within 16m.
Any aura effect is pretty strong, better than most SWF comms can be. So basekit auras shouldn't be a thing imo, except for when the survivor is powerless like the current aura when dying/hooked.

I wanted buy him, i am not buying because of how BHVR forcing me to buy costume. Is it really so hard to understand for you?
If it's such an easy decision to not buy him because he won't be listed in your steam library... what that says is you have no intention of ever actually playing him, you just want to complete your steam library.
Sounds like you've spent a lot of money on filling out a checklist.

Unless that lobby is also dodged and now I'm the backfill.
Better to roll the dice than to accept an almost certain missmatch.
Which is why I don't understand why you would want to prevent lobby dodging when you also want the PC penalty removed.
That's just going to result in DCs every single game.
Ultimately lobby dodging has to be an option as long as the lobby exists at all. The freedom to choose not to start a game has to remain as long as quitting a game in progress is discouraged. I could maybe see doing away with the lobby entirely and just loading straight into a match, but that still has some of the same issues.
I would rather have open and DC penalties, than locked in lobbies with no DC penalties, and you can't have neither, or nobody will play at all.
Besides, SWF cherrypick their team mates just as much as someone who dodges lobbies based on their matched lobby.

@caramelpudding said:
I will never understand why so called team mates have to play like jerks. How unhappy do one have to be in life to find happiness in giving another player a miserable time?
Yes to showing perks of your teammates at the very beginning if lobby dodging stays a thing (to avoid people running certain selfish perks...), yes to hiding prestige levels, yes to hiding names until the end result screen (and though it wasn't listed here, yes to removing Fart Merchant from the game).
Can we just delete these 'selfish perks' instead? If no one is allowed to run them.
I personally like to run Sole Survivor occasionally as an insurance policy. I don't play selfishly but I end up the last remaining survivor often enough that it can be beneficial.

She got backfilled in after the 6th Killer dodged and the original Survivor had enough and just left the lobby.
So the problem is backfilling.
If you get dodged and don't want to risk a missmatch, dodge yourself, so you get a fresh lobby.
-
Maybe it's so the survivors frame better matches the hitbox when running. Survivors hitboxes are above their ass, their head is actually collision-free.
-
The big difference is that the killer has to go out of their way to reignite the hexes, and survivors can counter by not cleansing Plaything.
-
Reasonable. Although from what I've seen, it seems to be way more than 50%. Nearly every Nick Cage I faced yesterday screamed twice.
-
None of those challenges are gating anything. There's a viable route to all other challenges that doesn't go through these.
I'm not sure how this idea would work in practice. What if you selected the challenge but refused to complete it? Infinite free use of licensed characters?

"I don't see the fuss about Hangman's trick" Okay,so you see nothing wrong with them making a terrible perk design, publishing it to everyone for 3 weeks, seeing tons of feedback it's terrible and doing a last minute extremely minor numbers change that cant even make it to live in time?
No, because the old version of Hangman's Trick was already awful.
Slightly less awful is an improvement.

If license restrictions didn't exist: all of his movie outfits
Realistically however: None of them because the license is for Nic Cage and his own clothing only, every movie outfit he's ever worn is owned by other companies and isn't possible to include.
I wouldn't say it's not possible, but it may require juggling multiple license deals and that may price it out of the typical model. Ultimately depends on how much these movie license holders want for them.
Mandy for example is owned by RLJE Films, who distribute a load of niche horror, including other Nick Cage films like Color out of Space, Prisoners of the Ghostland and Sympathy for the Devil. All films that definitely match the DBD vibe.
If they ever got a deal with them, something similar to the Crypt TV deal they had, then it could easily include new skins for Nick.
-
Is this automatic?
I've got most of mine on PS5 but I may have a few adepts on PS4.
-
The killer's scored a free down. Either they've hit you and you've gone down immediately, so you get hooked. Or you're running No Mither and essentially spending 2 perk slots to counter the chance of an off-meta perk while making yourself easier to kill.
Either way, the killer's not put out.
Most killers don't use Corrupt well anyway, they either rush for a down and disable it themselves, or they spend so long looking for survivors that they don't build any pressure before survivors find an unblocked gen anyway.

Being tunneled and camped is not the cause when they have only been hooked once and are not being camped. They try to unhook in seconds. These are the main ones I'm talking about. I was literally feet away once and someone did it.
I've been tunnelled and camped to death. I did't rage quit like a baby.
To those saying remove DC penalty. Let me spell it out for you. Player goes against an unpopular killer and DC's. Another team mate DC's. Player ends up against bots and DC's. Game ends. Rinse and repeat.
Oh and unpopular is subjective as I've had multiple DC's against a huntress for example. lol
Ques are already bad at times I don't think people want to waste their time over and over.
So the reason for these cases is simply selfish and sulky acts of game sabotage.
The number of Plague and Pig games I've had where a survivor DCs the moment they spot a Fountain or Jigsaw box is ridiculous.

Again, please enlighten me:
How do you turn off a TV that is constantly turned off?
You all just say "turn it off", but seem to ignore the fact that it's literally impossible in certain scenarios. I know proxycamping is a legit strategy, I'm stating that no other killer can do what she is able to do: Disabling her TV herself, on cooldown, next to a hook.
It might be niche but I don't think it should work that way. (Migraine makes forming sentences impossible rn.)
So you just happened to be unhooked in the 1 second each minute that the TV was on before Sadako instantly teleported back to it?

You're forced to spend more money than you intend in order to have the DLC listed as owned in your steam library.
Buying him with auric cells doesn't list the DLC as owned or gives you his recolored base piece.
For 8 years BHVR sold the DLCs at the normal pricing but right now you're paying extra for something BHVR did for free.
This is just greed, a way to exploit ocd/compulsion/whatever and good for you that it doesn't bother you.
Why do you need it "listed in your library"?
You're still getting the same product when you use Auric Cells.
First world problems man.
"My receipt isn't in the usual format, this is an outrage!"
-
Well you don't scream when you go down. That should be enough.
-
When was the last time you let the killers have fun at your expense?
If waiting 5+ minutes for a match is too much, play killer instead? There are way too many survivors playing right now. Frankly if you're not playing Nick Cage or any of his perks tonight you shouldn't be complaining about queue times.

There's also family sharing as well, the DLCs bought on steam carry over but I don't believe the ones in game do (Which, again might also be a reason why they price hiked it)
This doesn't seem like it should be a thing to start with. Are they supposed to carry across to different accounts on Steam? Console stores don't do this.
-

All I wanna know is why they felt the need to remove an option that was always there. I don't think that's too unreasonable of an ask?
If you have an answer for me I'd be happy to hear.
Because they wanted to offer a neat discount deal, and because they can and do price each of their DLC packages differently? Some have 1 character, some have 2, some have 3, some have 11, some have different cosmetics and charms thrown in, some are discounted further already, etc.
-
I guess the challenge intends for you to pick up an item, as in go through the effort of finding one, such as via chests.
Have you tried dropping the item and picking it back up again?

How is it a discount if there's no alternative for buying the DLC on my prefered platform (steam)?
Jesus dude, you already have TWO different purchase options. That's twice as many as most things have. Just buy it for $5 like everyone else, or don't buy it at all. Talk about first world problems.

Fella I've bought auric cells before, the issue is that you are FORCED to buy auric cells if you don't want to get ripped off. How do you not understand the issue of taking a previously well established choice for a consumer away?
Because it doesn't effect you?
Because in your mind there's no difference, yet you can't explain why the change was made in first place?
Like genuinely, I don't get what you stand to gain from defending this in the first place, you clearly don't care about it - which is fine you don't have to at all I respect that.
What I stand to gain from defending this is the satisfaction of calling out irrational complaints, and the possibility that you might see sanity.
-
It has different lobby music? What? Since when did cosmetics do this?

@Brokenbones said:

Yeah nice argument, I can do this too
"Hey, instead of letting people buy the DLC for the usual price - let's bundle in a cosmetic they might or might not actually care about and hike up the price! That way they either have to buy OUR currency auric cells or they have to pay us extra to have it on steam! It's a win win! We also screw over those dirty family sharing freeloaders!"
Proves nothing, though lol.
I still don't understand why you can't just buy it with Auric Cells? Get over your irrational fear of Auric Cells, it's exactly the same price.
-
"Hey, let's offer a half-price cosmetic. Surely no one can complain about that..."
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492848#Comment_3492848
I still don't get your point
If people want to buy the chapter on steam, they can't do it without paying extra for content they might not want in the first place, hence why it's a ripoff. Every other chapter before this was available for purchase on steam by itself, why should this one be any different? What's the reason?
Why do you need it on Steam? It costs the same anyway?
Usual price of single character on Steam: $4.99
Usual price of single character via Auric Cells: $5
Usual price of single character and a rare cosmetic via Auric Cells: $15 minimum
Cost of Nick Cage DLC with rare cosmetic on Steam: $9.99 ($5.01 saving)
Cost of Nick Cage via Auric Cells: $5 (exactly the same as every other single character DLC)
No one is getting ripped off.

???
Nicolas cage DLC is £7.99/$9.99 on steam and there's no option to buy it without the added cosmetics which are the reason the price was hiked up
What are you talking about
You know exactly what I'm talking about but I've edited to help you understand.

@Brokenbones said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492836#Comment_3492836
No, I am complaining because every other DLC you can buy on steam for the same price but now apparently that's not the case
Why? Greed. Unless you can offer a reasonable alternative explanation why the consumer has had options limited when it's completely against how it's always been. Every other solo character DLC was sold for the same price, on steam without any added costs so...
Why?
Steam: $4.99 usually
Auric Cells: $5
Oh no, one cent, such unfathomable greed.

If there's no difference, why was buying just the DLC for the same price on steam option removed?
Why should we be forced to buy a third party currency if we don't want to be ripped off?
These are questions I'm holding out on getting an answer to.
You're not getting ripped off. You're getting exactly the same deal for exactly the same price. You're complaining that your receipt is printed on a different colour paper.
-

I wanted to buy the DLC on steam and I can't do that without paying for content I don't want
Doesn't seem like a discount to me, seems like a ripoff for the sake of extra profit
So buy the auric cells? What's the difference?
It's not like there's an awkward amount. It's $5 for 500 AC, which is the cost of the character.
-

You get to teleport LESS as it used to be instant and the only downside was the tvs being turned off but you could fix her to be good fun using her iri add-on to get around that. I had an entire dedicated build around her strengths that no other killer can pull off using floods of rage, lethal pursuer, make your choice, and shadowborn.
A complete, no slowdown build that was actually effective while just fun to use and comfortable to play (with shadowborn). The cooldown not only ruins that but makes her feel more clunky and slow to do what you want. You have to commit to slowing the game down directly now using the condemned teleports and gen defense.
There was never a reason to teleport instantly unless you teleported to the wrong TV. 10s is nothing for the massive cooldown reduction on TVs themselves, considering you don't need those 10s in the first place. And not needing to use an Iri add on every game is a huge buff.
-
This isn't a flop, or a chapter.
-
If you don't want to use your mori power, it technically is a buff, you get to teleport more.
But the mori is unique to her, without it she's just a weaker Freddy.
It would be nice if her mori was more like Pyramids, in that it was more reliable to use instead of a third hook.
Maybe each hook should 'lock in' 2-3 stacks of Condemned or something.
-
That's way too powerful.
Run the killer for 60s then gain 2 BNPs?

I recognize the purpose of this idea, however I feel without more limitations it would be a free second chance for losing.
Chances are there's no real comeback from this scenario, unless it happens when the exit gates are already open/99. The vast majority of cases it will simply allow one survivor to escape through the hatch, or allow the game to go on a little longer through active engagement and earn everyone more BP, and that's fine. And where the survivor does manage to pick others up and make a comeback, chances are the killer still has the upper hand through pressure.
You could add a cooldown or limit the number of times it activates maybe? Either it can only activate once per minute, or only once per survivor. So that killers who can knock down the survivor who got back up don't have to play whack-a-mole, meaning survivors have to be more thoughtful about when they pick up.
Or it can be disabled during EGC.
-
That's literally how the perk works. How can anyone prove you wrong?
Renewal also has a similar activation, well it requires a heal not an unhook, but they typically coincide.
Neither are 'bad' perks though, just because they don't work 25% of the time if you don't take care to mitigate that chance. Though if you do play carefully at the start of the game and ensure you're not hooked first, you win.
There are a lot of perks that simply don't work X% of the time. Adrenaline for example, if you die before end game, but that's meta.
-
Spine Chill: Currently it indicates when any killer is in proximity, but it's soon to be nerfed. It will still light up when a killer is nearby and facing your direction. This bypasses Undetectable.
Distortion: Stealth killers gain a lot from info perks, so aura reading is particularly valuable to them. If they know where you are without line of sight, then they can approach you without making line of sight. But if they can't see your aura to begin with...
Similarly; Iron Will, Quick and Quiet, Dance with Me, Lucky Break, Off The Record, Sole Survivor and Low Profile will make you harder to find/track without line of sight, thus making them less effective at stealth.
