According to dictionary . com:
(in computer graphics) a technique used to add greater realism to a digital image by smoothing jagged edges on curved lines and diagonals.
Basically the image posted by somebody else above me. Antialiasing would make a grainy or pixelated image look much more fine and crisp I suppose, though I will admit this is my first time hearing about it...
Regardless according to some developers who responded to a thread about it, it's been disabled because they don't like it when you mess with the in-game files. Even if it's for harmless graphical or UI changes like the different perk icons people like to tote around. So it hardly matters anymore

Ah another Ghostface main. A pleasure to run into you.
Heh, yeah. Hiding in plain sight you could say
-
It's because people are stupid in low ranks, and don't know how to go about properly and safely rescuing their fellow teammates. I wouldn't harp on them too much though, they don't know too much better, but they'll get the hang of it eventually.
In the meantime all you need to do is work on your own personal performance to keep yourself doing better no matter the situation you're put in. Improvise even if you're dealt a bad hand, and if you really know what you're doing you will eventually pip enough times that you'll reach higher ranks. Your reward for that is better teammates who won't pull that kind of crap as frequently, but also increasingly more competitive games where some people will get really sweaty especially when you hit the highest color: the infamous red ranks.
As for what to do IN the moment? I would encourage you to run what I call self-preservation perks, the best of which is Kindred, the god-tier perk for any solo player. It gives you information when someone else is hooked, and it gives other people information when you're hooked, hopefully they use that information effectively and are more easily able to avoid / stealth around a killer. This also works well with your style of play being the "radar" of the team. You could also run Decisive Strike but this is a highly controversial perk in the community, and tensions are always high when people bring it up when talking about balance. Don't let anyone ever tell you what you can't do, anything in the game (that's not cheating or griefing) is permissable gameplay wise, but I wouldn't get too reliant on a perk that may be getting nerfed in the near future.
Outside of Kindred and Decisive Strike, other Self-Preservation perks that could help you out are
- Adrenaline (heals you and boost of speed when last gen pops so good if you're on your heels running with little hope while injured. Saving grace / last chance perk that has helped me out in many a bad situation)
- Any exhaustion perk, most status effects reset after being hooked so you can use this to your advantage for a speedy getaway. Sprint Burst, Balanced Landing if you're hooked on a hill, Lithe if you've got a jungle gym or window of a central building next to you, Dead Hard to avoid a hit, etc.
- Camaraderie - really underrated perk in my opinion, especially in low ranks where your teammates are probably all d*cking about, it can literally save your life. Even though I don't run it often I have a soft spot for this perk, as it has kept me alive for long after I should have been dead
- Breakdown - off meta pick, not actually all that viable but if you're finding you're constantly being hit straight off the hook you might have a use for it. Breaks the hook you were hooked on immediately when you are unhooked so the killer can't just hook you on it again, he'd have to take you somewhere else. Used in conjunction with perks that let you wiggle faster or help you out while wiggling on the killers shoulder like Flip Flop, Boil Over, (the aforementioned Decisive Strike, but not entirely encouraged) could get you somewhere
That and just hold out, and keep on trying my guy. Hopefully you get better teammates, but at the end of the day glad you're enjoying the game.

Some people just dont get it I guess. The devs have a lot on their plate right now without catering to greedy spoiled brats.
Out of curiosity, what side do you main? Your language and tone suggests an intelligent survivor main, but I could be wrong of course.
I play both sides equally, though at one point in time all the way back in 2016 when I first started playing I did play survivor exclusively. Nowadays I probably play more killer than survivor, but Hillbilly and Oni are not my top picks for killer, they're somewhere on 3rd - 5th picks give or take. I main Ghostface and secondary Freddy (rip Wes Craven) and when playing survivor I main Ace. Hence the icon.

In that rant of yours, there's one simple thing you didn't take into the equation: Did the actors from the show even WANT to voice the characters here? Your rant seems to act as though they were never contacted, but doesn't take into account that Joe Keery and Natalia Dyer could've been contacted about it (they would have had to have been contacted to acquire their likenesses) but simply have chosen not to reprise their role due to a smaller wage (voice acting does not pay a lot) or conflicting schedules rendering them unavailable. Hell, Netflix could've also told them not to as per some contract deal.
I did mention this. The third point or "blame" in my larger paragraph.
And it goes without saying, this is why I provided the comparison to Bruce Freakin Campbell. The guy has an infamously longer list of credits than Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery COMBINED and he still took the job, even if it "paid less"

Ouch. Im a console player, this hurts.
But, they have a point. It makes these two killers practically unplayable and it needs addressing. And, yes given the devs track record, killer bugs are always fixed months later. However, since this whole update just made killer more enjoyable to play, I think itll get fixed pretty quickly.
Exactly. This is the answer. It will be fixed because this is a live frickin project that receives continued and ongoing support, and if the problem is really that bad you know the devs will work even more quickly to put out a hotfix for these killers.
But it also goes without saying, we are in the midst of a ######### Pandemic, and the devs no longer are able to work in their offices with easy access to company resources and the rest of their team. Sure they have the benefit of having a job that deals mostly within the bounds of technology, so I would expect they all have at least some decent personal hardware at home, but that still doesn't mean you should be laying into them as badly when they quite literally are no longer in the same place they were. Literally, physically, metaphorically, and what have you.
Games like Dead By Daylight now provide a steady stream of entertainment for those of us who are stuck at home and that makes blunders, mishaps, and any muddling with that all the more evident. But that doesn't mean you are allowed to forget the situation we are in, that the people who work on Dead By Daylight are exactly that: people. Who suffer all the same problems as us, possibly struggling to get groceries from stores that are all sold out because of hoarders, toiletries and other necessities they may require. But all you guys can think and talk about are the actual tolerable issues by comparison to what's going out in the world right now. And because we are the customer and they are the company they have to suck it up and keep their heads down while we talk all the sh*t we want.
Absolutely MAD PROPS to the developers of this project who have been doing this for almost four years now. The community can be so absolutely insufferable it is beyond ridiculous. I don't know why this is getting me riled up now all of a sudden but it is, and there is very clear reason to be. The devs make mistakes, but they also FIX them as well given time, and people should recognize that a lot more often than they do. Have patience or play something else... I hear Civ 6 is fun.
Of course it's not a free pass for the devs, but it is an acknowledgement of the situation we are in, and providing those working people with the benefit of the doubt.
-
No. Prepare for my rant Behavior, your shenanigans have gone too far this time.
The voice has not grown on me in any meaningful measure or capacity in the absolute SLIGHTEST. It bugs me so much and will always be my #1 reason for why I don't play the character (#2, his teachables aren't the greatest, but I main Ace so it's not like I can't tolerate that). The high pitched teen voice they gave him feels so off pitch it's absolutely bonkers. It takes me out of the character so much every time I'm hit, hooked, scream, whimper, etc. and since that's literally all DBD is, that is literally all the godd*mn time.
It drives me nuts wondering how they got Bruce Campbell, the legendary face and voice of Ash Williams himself, a reputable, distinguished, and respected actor, and they couldn't get two young adults who are probably more familiar with video games than he is and had their careers boosted by Netflix just 4 years ago. Like, who do I blame here? BHVR for being stingy and not reaching out?? I mean they worked with Netflix themselves so how is that even possible?? Netflix for being restrictive with their license and not allowing the voices of Joe Keery and Natalia Dyer?? Natalia Dyer and Joe Keery for being pompous and full of themselves now that they have attained celebrity status and refuse to work on projects that aren't on "the big screen"??? WHO do I blame here, I've ran myself in circles trying to puzzle this out and I simply cannot fathom a good reason because it feels like the stars were literally aligned for this chapter. I mean they look like the characters, both have received numerous cosmetics so it's not like the license was restrictive, they even got small details like the hair for Steve down so why the hell did they not use their voices????? 🤔🤔🤔
Steve needs a voice rework as badly as Quentin needs a face rework, and that means DESPERATELY. Otherwise it's not Steve, it is just not, no disrespect to whoever did the voice acting who I'm sure that voice could fit for any other character, but that is not the voice of Steve Harrington.
I focus all my energy on Steve because it's not as obvious with Nancy's voice, although it goes without saying, if Joe is brought on to voice his own character shouldn't Natalia also do the same??
-
This is just blatantly misleading. The devs put out a really good update with numerous map changes that decrease the strength of particularly problematic loops around central buildings, decreases overall map size, changing tile spacing, fixes tons of bugs, etc.
And when an obscure bug hits PS4 (not even PC where most of the playerbase is) you spit back "KnOwInG ThE HiStOrY oF dBd? i ThInK yOu CaN AnSwEr ThAt YoUrSeLf"
You people make me sick. Why are you even here? If y'all just constantly give the devs flak for hardly good reason then just get lost. Play and enjoy the game, and if you don't, DON'T. Simple as that.
-
I don't know why people don't get this.
NOBODY ever said that Gen Rush would ever be solved in the 3.7.0 mid-chapter patch update. NOBODY. Not the devs, not the overall community, no such claim was ever made by anyone. If you expected the issue to be solved that is your own fault and I honestly have no idea what to tell you, except that you might be delusional. Sorry to be so harsh, but I'm just spitting the cold hard truth, and the truth hurts sometimes.

"when teens get involved with an impulsive mastermind, they discover an addicting kind of freedom"
"a dark impuslive took over frank"
frank was the one who made them all turn into murderers
also when the dlc came out in the in game store there was more description about the impulsive mastermind and teens that made me believe frank was the mastermind but i forgot that was over a year ago
Yeah, but I would never describe Frank as a mastermind. That's definitely far too colorful grandiose language for a 19 year old who is no smarter than the rest of his crew, which is what a mastermind is an adjective for. It describes someone of "outstanding intellect" Frank is just the head of a gang of friends who become killers, there's nothing to indicate that he's any smarter than anyone else or that he has some kind of knowledge others don't have.
The entity on the other hand, is literally beyond Human comprehension, and it is making pawns out of killers and survivors for reasons that are for the most part beyond us.
-
I wouldn't expect you to. Nobody ever claimed that the 3.7.0 patch was going to be the update to end gen rushing, not the Devs, not the Community, etc. If that was ever your expectation I just don't know what to say
-

frank because according to the old store page and spotlight videos he is an "impulsive mastermind" and the others are his "group of teens"
I'm fairly certain that the line "impuslive mastermind" was a reference to the Entity? The group of teens referring to all four of them as a whole and the Entity who now controls them and masterminds their actions. At least that's how I always interpreted it from the spotlight video
Although it could be a double entendre.
-
It's some cool symbolism regardless if it was intended or not.
Nice thought

As the group stared at Frank in shock, he ordered them to finish the job. Joey clenched his jaw, grabbed the knife, and stabbed the bleeding man in the ribs. Susie didn't want to do it. Frank shouted at her; they had to finish what they'd started. Julie closed her eyes and slid the knife into the man's chest."
But in the cinematic we see that julie killed him by stabing him in jaw. BHVR #########?
I haven't seen the cinematic myself, I prefer not to spoil them and I'd rather earn them the traditional way, but I wanted to point out that being stabbed in the Jaw isn't typically a killing blow...
It could be that was something that happened beforehand and after she stabbed him in the jaw in self defense and then Frank stabbed him in the back and everything else played out as described in the bio for the Legion. Just thinking is all

Would have voted for Trappers Rogi, but Trapper already has some of the most cosmetics right when you launch the game that players accumulated over events, anniversaries, etc. that this wasn't what I wore all the time while playing him.
Where the Hillbilly saw none of this, so I was running the Scarecrow outfit all the time until Tome 1 brought a premium outfit set for him that I wear all the time now.
I like both though

Poor CLOWN bro! The Big Belly Boi has Been Beaten and Bullied for YEARS.
He needs a full rework, the slowdown just isn't drastic enough to have an effect on most loops and sure the devs may have answered this indirectly through the map reworks we will get to see literally today in about an hour or two (as of writing), when the mid-chapter patch goes live. But this still doesn't make Clown as interesting to play
I wish, wish, wish, wish, WISH there was some more nuance to his ability but there really isn't. It's a 15% slow, survivors in the haze get dazed, can't perform fast vaults, and cough, that is literally about it that is all he has. It sucks because I love the character: his lore, his aesthetic, his theme, he has some pretty great cosmetics (especially Mr. Puddles) but I can't enjoy any of them because he's so awful. Plus he's literally a Clown, clown's are ######### creepy as fuc and if I saw that in real life I would literally be booking it in the opposite direction. There's so much to like about this character, but his power is so woefully ineffective, and the gameplay isn't unique enough to set him apart from an m1 killer that these two reasons alone dampen the entire experience. I would play him so much more if he was better than he is now
Because the Clown is one of my favorites I took the liberty of creating / putting together a few ideas because a lot of people don't know what to do with the Clown when it comes to reworks.
Solutions for Big Boi Clown
- New Secondary Ability: Funtime Gas Trap - A small but brightly colored circular piece of equipment which the clown twists and winds up, with a very sensitive trigger mechanism. Upon activating the circular object pops up and opens, violently erupting with a loud sound and ejecting a large cloud of the Afterpiece Tonic's Gas which covers a large area (24 meters) causing survivors to scream revealing their location and suffer from the effects of the afterpiece Tonic. The Funtime Gas Trap is activated when a survivor walks within 4 meters of it, it can also be attached to generators, where it will trigger as soon as a survivor begins repairing that generator. Only two Funtime Gas Traps can be placed at a time
- The intended use of this ability is to give the Clown a bit of awareness when it comes to the movements of survivors, it provides him a bit of Map Pressure that he previously lacked, and can also be used in the middle of a chase. If a survivor is abusing a certain loop to its fullest extent, say the killer shack, the Clown can quickly set this down and if the survivor stays and continues to loop it will trigger and cover the whole area with gas making looping that jungle gym, or pallet, or central building much more difficult. This change also works particularly well in conjunction with solutions 2 & 3 which would allow the trap to be better in chases or halting generator progression.
- This secondary ability might operate similar to the Doctor, starting on a cooldown and after about 60 seconds, or alternatively it can be charged up depending on how many full reloads a Clown has completed. After reloading 3 times the Clown gains access to this ability. Unlike the Doctor however, these Funtime Gas Traps can picked up and placed somewhere else, a Funtime Gas Trap cannot be picked up when the Clown has one already charged up. After a Funtime Gas Trap has activated and fully ejected its contents it will fall apart (and probably eventually disappear to save resources)
- A second concept of this ability that I didn't include is that any survivors who are in close vicinity of the Funtime Gas Trap when it goes off (within 8 meters) are splattered with brightly colored paint or possibly brightly colored dust which would either wear off or a survivor would have to perform an action to clean / wipe off. This makes survivors who triggered it and anybody else nearby much easier to spot, especially those wearing dark clothes (IE Blendettes) and more difficult for them to hide after they've activated the trap. This version of the Funtime Gas Trap also cackles and laughs maniacally after being activated. I scrapped this idea since I felt it might be a bit too extra even for the Clown and not fit the intense horror theme of Dead By Daylight, I feel the intense explosive nature of this piece of equipment would be enough for a jumpscare and the cackling might detract from that depending on how it was recorded / if it was distorted, etc.
- Create a progressively increasing slow - As it stands the Clown's current 15% slow is simply not enough in most cases, especially around pallets loops particularly rather than window loops because a survivor can still just drop a pallet or fast vault a pallet that's already been dropped. The idea here is that the longer you stay in the gas the more you are slowed down.
- This can start at the current 15% slow and grow by 1% every second a survivor is intoxicated, since a survivor is hindered for 2.5 seconds this guarantees an extra 2% slow just for getting intoxicated at all, however the longer a survivor stays in the gas cloud the more they are slowed (IE the more they run the same loop which presumably is covered in gas). Up to a set maximum of say 25% slow.
- A different idea is that survivors who are hit by the intoxication of multiple gas bottles are slowed by a stacking 5% for each new gas bottle they inhale. So say they are running in a straight line (toward a loop or whatever) you throw 1 bottle they get slowed 15%, a second bottle and now they are slowed 20%, a third 25% up to a set maximum of 25% let's say
- A third idea is that the hindered effect itself lasts longer, currently, when a survivor leaves a gas cloud they remain hindered for 2.5 seconds, the change here is the longer they stay in a gas cloud the longer they remain hindered after leaving it, for 3.5, 4.5, 5.5 seconds and so on and so forth up to a set maximum of say 6 seconds or something.
- If the progressive slow ever becomes too powerful because of how high it can stack (I chose a "relatively" low number of 25% maximum) you can nerf the base immediate effect down from 15% to 10% so there's more room for survivors to gradually become slower and more sluggish. And look, we can sit here talking numbers all day, numbers are probably the easiest thing to change and tweak but the core idea remains the same the longer you stay in the gas the more potent its effects become. Encouraging survivors to leave the area ASAP rather than just ignoring or tanking the full force of the gas.
- Limit survivors actions while intoxicated - "Disables Survivors' ability to perform any Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Searching, or Cleansing interactions" until they are no longer intoxicated. The impaired vision effect lasts for 4 seconds after leaving the tonic's area of effect, so this when one could be considered no longer intoxicated. For those wondering, this is the exact effect The Doctor creates when tier 3 madness is applied to a survivor. This forces survivors to move off a generator since they can no longer repair it, and allows more skill on the part of a Clown since he can now throw cross-map bottles to slow the progress of a generator that may be at 90%. This change is intended to give the Clown more map pressure, something that has frequently been cited as one of his major weaknesses.
- NOTE: This change allows the clown to apply more pressure by interrupting actions such as repairing generators, multiple survivors healing as a group, preventing a totem to be cleansed, etc. BUT DOES NOT prevent critical actions such as saving a survivor from a hook, or opening the exit gates.
- It always bugged me that survivors seemed relatively unaffected by what is literally a toxic cloud of gas, that they could heal grievous wounds and injuries or repair complex machinery only coughing slightly while they did it. This changes that completely, making the afterpiece tonic a far more powerful substance that can't be taken as lightly. It also allows the Clown to interrupt
- Reload individual bottles - The change itself is quite simple: every second a Clown spends reloading he gains a bottle, the time to reload completely is not reduced but he can stop after say three seconds and use the three bottles he reloaded. This is similar to how the Nurse's ability operates post rework where her blinks now recharge individually rather than being able to spam them all at once.
- This idea is actually not my own but something I've heard echoed across the community as a change that makes a lot of sense. Currently it takes 5 seconds to reload his bottles and that reloads them all at once, however, this slows the Clown immensely allowing a survivor to gain a significant amount of distance. It makes his chases much more difficult than they should be, because eventually at some point you may be forced to just operate as an m1 killer without a power because you don't want to lose that distance.
- Increase base capacity by at least 1 - This change is fairly self-explanatory. The current four bottles can be used far too quickly forcing you to reload much earlier than you probably should have to, especially when it frequently takes more than one bottle maybe even three to slow a survivor significantly enough to hit them. Leaving you with only one bottle to work with for a second hit or down
NOTES - I'm not expecting all of these to go through at the same time, if they did the Clown might be unbalanced (or maybe not, maybe he could just be a powerful, viable killer who knows) this is merely a list of proposed changes that can be made that can be picked from or chosen specifically to stand on their own or in conjunction with one or two of the others.
If I were to chose a single idea from my list, I'd have to go with #3, I feel this is legitimately the most important change that should be made to the Clown because it solves one of the most important problems he has. Lack of map pressure. As a killer with no means to move any faster or apply a large amount of damage at one time (through injuring multiple at once or instadowns), the ability to interrupt and briefly halt survivors who are healing, or repairing a generator at 90%, or cleansing an important Hex: Totem from a distance I think is an incredible idea and truly a saving grace. This allows the Clown to cross distance and close that gap without feeling hopeless that he can do nothing before he actually gets there and that his gas does nothing.
I deliberately left the reloading "solutions" for last because I think they are the most boring changes we can make to buff the Clown, and I also think they're the most well known / talked about ideas. Don't get me wrong, those changes probably would help if his core ability wasn't changed at all (meaning nothing from changes #1-3) but I think even with changing how quick the Clown reloads the core issues of his ability not having a big enough effect or impact on the survivors remains. If only the reloading / base capacity changes were made (which I think is the bare minimum of what you would want to do and this killer deserves more than the base minimum) he would still be a lower tier killer. He needs a solid rework with significant changes to be made to be both more fun and more viable, which is what solution numbers 1-3 are for.
TL;DR - Clown needs some big changes. His power has very little impact and effect on survivors who are completely unafraid to simply ignore or tank his gas clouds at face value, on top of having hardly any map pressure this means he doesn't even succeed in the chase like he is originally supposed to. If you would like to see some of my suggestions I've put them in a bulleted list and bolded them, the following paragraph explains the change, and sub points go into greater detail behind the mindset / reasoning and other pieces of extraneous information that you don't necessarily need to read to understand. The bolded title of each change should give you a rough idea of what I mean and the explanation that follows paints that picture well enough.
This comment also became way longer than I intended and because of that I'm going to copy and paste this into a new thread / discussion for people to talk about the Clown specifically.
Only two Funtime Gas Traps can be placed at a time

I voted Joey just because I think since Frank is the leader (and our main character for the Legion) and Julie is his girlfriend - they have a Bonnie and Clyde thing already going on, they're the two playable members that you can use straight out the gate, so they'll be the members of the legion we know most about or will know most about probably in the future. So I'd like to know more about the other members, Joey and Susie
Also, Dunno if anybody has heard, but Dead By Daylight Tweeted out earlier today just about an hour ago ish talking about the Tome and mentioning that it will feature Julie (from the Legion). So there's your answer for that, no need for the Poll. The trailer linked within the tweet mentions the title of her story: "Soldiers of Mayhem".
https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1254879034506383360Also want to point out that they replied to themselves correcting the original information sent out in this tweet, the mid-chapter update goes live tomorrow, and the Tome releases a day after on Wednesday, April 29th.

bhvr surely has a lot of those requests in a big drawer, very, very, very, VERY big.
(Also, pinhead is not an executioner, he is a judge, and I don't see him punishing innocent people. I see you baby dwight!)
I won't lie I haven't watched the Hellraiser movies myself, however I've watched a bunch of content that covers the lore behind it and the plot as well (so I guess I spoiled it for myself more or less) and I'm fairly certain this statement is only true for Pinhead in the earlier movies. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the cenobites originally were kind of like Jigsaw from Saw in the sense that they punished evil people who did bad things, but as the franchise went on the characters became saturated exaggerations of themselves and grew less concerned with distinguishing good and evil and in classic horror fashion just killing everybody.
-
We all get it, everybody had this theory before the Legion came out and yes everyone agrees, it is a far more compelling idea for a character to suffer from split personality disorder. Chalk it up to a missed opportunity, however, the current fantasy surrounding the Legion and them being 4 different killers who all share the same style isn't bad imo, people just love hating on the legion and legion has always gotten such an extremely bad rap for just being an overall mediocre killer. The amount of flak Legion gets for no good reason is just absurd
It's mentioned in the lore that "His powers were tempered in some ways and focused in others." when he was taken to the realm of the entity. Freddy lost his power to warp reality completely and utterly as he saw fit in the dream world, but he retained certain other capabilities... such as that to be invisible, teleport, create illusions of things that don't exist, and somewhat uniquely: create pools of blood that contain souls of the damned (perhaps his previous victims?) which claw and grasp at whatever passes by.
We got some new bits of lore in the form of animatics when mobile released in regards to the killer perspective: "They know something's wrong, something's not like it used to be, and yet, they don't care. They don't care because it's better. Much better than it used to be. Better because they are free... free to make merry hell so long as they serve... the Entity" this isn't exactly new information since much of it has been implied before or if you paid attention to the dev streams they probably mentioned this somewhere down the line after launch. However, this is probably the first time it has been so blatantly stated in an official animatic or piece of lore.
Certain killers might fight back against being put into the servitude of the entity and being made pawns in its grand scheme, these the entity tortures cruelly, forcing them to bend and submit to its will. The evidence of this exists on their bodies, scars and injuries sustained proof of that on characters like Trapper, the Doctor, etc. and the Entity is patient, time is not something that exists in such a place so there can be no end to a killers suffering unless they choose to serve. However, other killers only need slight persuasion, a nudge in the right direction to do what the entity wants, these killers hardly change. Freddy, Michael, Ghostface all look about the same as they normally do meaning they weren't tortured, they chose this willingly.
The last thing you mentioned is a nice idea, we'll just have to wait and see on that one.
-
I like these ideas, but you put onto the lore the lore section so it probably won't get more attention
-
Gonna throw my hat into the ring to answer this by saying I always thought the humming was intended to be a kind of cruel or horrific irony, she hums this really calm soothing tune which stands in extremely stark contrast to the brutal violence and killings she is committing. In a pretty savage way at that, by using a fairly hefty and heavy Broad Axe to chop down survivors slamming it into their skulls, and lighter hunting hatchets which she can throw from any distance straight into the backs and legs of survivors to disable them. She continues humming, constantly, as if sardonically trying to quell their fear and nonverbally saying "shhh... let it happen" while taking their very lives.
It's honestly a creepy thought, and I'm fairly certain this was the intention.

Hi! I just updated the post to include a screenshot I found in my gallery from when the skin was new, showing it has changed a little bit. And I didn't know about the graphical update, thanks for letting me know! Hope they do it!
Looking at the new screenshot you updated if anything I would say it looks better, the former screenshot kind of has that really weird wispy thin kind of look that Quentin's hair has (Quentin desperately needs that face rework for real) whereas the first screenshot you put looks more full like an actual beard. But of course the screenshots are only single angles and we can't see what the full 360 degree difference looks like, but that's just my opinion about the difference I'm looking at from what I can see.
If you didn't know about the survey before, and you want to see a graphical update for the game you should take the time to complete the survey, they bring up a lot of interesting ideas and it's really just to gauge the community's interest in certain possible changes, updates, or future content. These surveys from the dev team itself have led to real tangible changes and updates like the Archives / Rift we now have so if you really want to see a graphical update let them know through the survey that this is something you and other members of the community are interested in, would like to see come to the game, and further supported. Here's the link:
The Dead by Daylight team would like your feedback in a Player Satisfaction survey. -

Either the effects need to be negligible at best or Survivors are gonna need some spicy buffs. Neat idea though.
Yea, I won't lie this is at least pretty close to a realistic answer.
Obviously survivors can steamroll most killers anytime they want if they really feel like it (by going into a queue with friends in SWF) which isn't good but there are a lot of other changes that are being made right now to balance the game to be more fair for killers already. Reworks for many problematic maps are coming out, breakable walls are slowly being implemented across all maps, there are probably a few more buffs / reworks at least in conceptual stages in the works for really terrible killers like the Clown, The Pig, Leatherface, etc. (the Clown especially, please buff Clown), so I don't think a big move like this where you implement a whole new mechanic like the Killer Shrine would be necessary, at least now.
Like the devs said in their latest stream, you don't want to change too many things at once because then it becomes more difficult to distinguish what is having an effect on what or what's creating a problem or is a really good change they made, when they've introduced like 5 new really big changes at once. As it stands there are a lot of new things happening right now at least
But I will agree it is a neat idea. I'd like to see new unique mechanics on par with Hex: Totems which were introduced oh so long ago in 2016 to be introduced now to shake up the meta a little bit more than the average killer rework or new killer does.

It doesn't look like its changed to me?
I mean I'm just not personally a fan of this outfit to begin with so I never bought it myself to begin with to wear, but I see it every now and then in lobbies and in the store when I'm looking at Jeff's other cosmetics and it doesn't look like it has changed to me.
On a slightly separate note though, if the devs do ever decide to do a full graphical update / overhaul to the game that they mentioned / suggested in their most recent poll, everything would look better including the small details like Jeff's beard.

jason skin for trapper since trapper is just discount Jason. Buff trapper first though; :/
No hope for Jason himself to make it into the game?
I'm not sure how far that would fly considering there are a lot of people who still hold out hope for Jason himself to be a killer in the game. And I mean their hopes aren't that far misplaced because the lawsuit that puts his license in dispute isn't a permanent thing, it will end eventually and when it does the devs might be there to secure one of the most popular licenses in all of horror. Maybe, he does have his own game so who knows.
But I'm pretty sure licensing negotiations for cosmetics as well as characters are the same thing.. you're working toward being able to use someone else's licensed property or ideas in your game. So if they had the license to make Jason a skin, that would also mean they have the license to use as an actual character as well so I don't see why they would opt to just make him a reskin instead. I think that would disappoint a lot of people
I get what you're saying, Trapper was directly inspired by Jason Voorhees as a character, but Trapper is his own individual character with his own creative lore that gets fleshed out constantly being the mascot or face / mask of Dead By Daylight. Not sure the devs would want to change a core character like that by giving him cosmetics that change who he is completely just because he's probably (technically) the most important figure of the game. More important than even the 4 original survivors I would say who don't appear too often on promotional art in comparison to Trapper

The same way Nea and Meg run with huge ass camping backpacks on their back, Kate runs with tools hitting her coochie ever .3 seconds, There's along about cosmetics that don't make sense. Kate running around in dairy dukes, Ash able to do gens despite having a hand puppet, Jane being able to move in a suit as well as she does. You act like you don't know wedding dresses don't come with petticoats attached.
And I don't care about being selfish. I made this thread about CLAUDETTE and how I am PERSONALLY unhappy with most of her cosmetics. Coming here and saying that is like saying stop being upset that you ruined your favorite shirt people there are people dying in car accidents. It's annoying. I made this thread because I feel that Claudette constantly receives outfits that don't relate to her personality nor story while many other survivors do. And the survivors who dont have many cosmetics are licensed and the legal tape to get things made for them is hell so therefore they don't get anything. Ghostface is an exception because there are literally dozens of Ghostface designs to pick from. Same thing with StrangerThings when it comes to Steve and Nancy.
Like IDK what you want form me. Do you want me to not vent my frustration about one of my mains because my other mains exist? Does she have good PARTS of cosmetics? Yes. But my whole thing is there is never a good COMPLETE Claudette outfit. Like the make up? Hair is ugly. Like the hair? The color doesn't fit her skin tone. Like the shirt? It doesn't go well with any of the pants. Like the pants? The design of the shirts fit but not the colors. Have I mixed and matched until I found decent combinations? Yes. Is it possible? Yes. But do her cosmetics fall flat in comparison to other survivors especially the females? Yes. Quality over Quantity and you can have 900 shirts but if all of them have holes in them what's the point of having 900 shirts. I would literally trade every single skin Claudette has for one GOOD one that FITS her personality and LORE for all these half assed skins they keep giving her.
Even for my Mikey. He has one cosmetic but I love it dearly because it fits him so well.
I don't know about you, but I can sprint with a backpack on, were you never in high school and had to book it from one end of the building to the other?? Especially if that backpack is clipped and secured from both the chest and waist like the Backpack Meg is wearing, as for Nea her backpack is nowhere near a camping backpack it's a small backpack meant to carry a few small things in this case since she's a grafitti artist it's: "a backpack loaded with paint" there are even two spray paint cans on the side of the pack indicating what is inside. The same applies for tools on a belt, how does that impede you from running???
None of your examples are apt comparisons for a 20 foot long wedding dress like the fan art you posted, it is not feasible to do anything more than a light jog in something like that. Especially in an uneven environment filled with rocks, strewn debris, not to mention trying to push through corn fields or vaulting a window at all let alone fast vaulting. You make it incredibly difficult to sympathize when the most prominent idea you bring up is just terribly unrealistic given the setting of the game.
Not to mention, who would she even be marrying from a lore standpoint?? I'm not saying Claudette can't get married but her bio never mentions her being in any kind of romantic relationship, and since her whole archetype is being the shy nerdy girl who keeps to herself the implication is pretty obvious: she's single. That's nothing to be frowned upon since in fact no survivor is ever mentioned to be in an active relationship. I bring this up because you yourself have put an emphasis on giving Claudette cosmetics that "fit her" but since her character is clearly an introvert who prefers solitude she's less likely to be in a relationship, so a wedding dress wouldn't fit her. Her bio literally says: "Claudette is not the outgoing type. Her brilliance provided her with a social handicap and she has fled the real world for chat rooms and forums." obviously you can be an introvert and be in a relationship, but it says she deliberately "fled the real world for chat rooms and forums" so it doesn't make sense to me that she would all of a sudden be getting married out of the blue, it doesn't fit her character, which again is something you yourself have repeatedly emphasized.
And listen I'm not saying you can't be selfish, you can want the best for the character, all I'm saying is that you should have a little perspective for the characters who need far more attention than Claudette does. Your second analogy doesn't work as well since we're talking about the same subject matter and your analogy consists of a shirt and something completely unrelated when we're talking about two shirts for two characters. it's more like you shouldn't be as upset because your favorite shirt was ruined because of a small stain, because a person in the same place had their favorite shirt absolutely demolished because it caught fire.
I'm not saying you can't be upset, I'm saying you should have a little perspective for the people who have it worse because their character mains are far less supported than yours.

The 3D model was removed because ALLEGEDLY (Please don't come for me DBD) the creator was asked to remove the 3D model as it would give people an incentive to modify game files which BHVR slaps as a no no. In my OPINION (again please don't come for me BHVR) from what I've heard around the artist mill it does seem believable as despite the games success and engine used to create models there is a chronic lack of 3D models for DBD outside of certain SFM animation channels and there were are not only any models available in the in Niconi Solid Pixiv or Art Station community (unless they are the official creator on behalf of BHVR) community but many 3D artists and modelers make it clear they do not take and DBD related commissions because "it's too much of a hassle". (Which is SUPER weird IN MY OPINION since the popularity of DBD in Asian countries is insane and compares to MOBAs and MMORPGs)
I can provide you however with the artwork (Because 2D artwork is perfectly fine) that was the inspiration for the model. And while the artwork is wonderful it however does little justice to that dress model I once saw that had been tuned to have grit dirt and blood on it and really sold the "run away bride" thing. I can ask around in my 3D communities to see if anyone managed to save the files for it though before it was removed.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/960/6KKY977X9OVA.png
Oh yeah and HD Renders are okay as long as they don't modify the models is ANY way. Also "what they look like renders" but that's an iffy grey area and I wouldn't suggest getting into that.
Imma tell you right now that you really be complaining about Claudette having cosmetics that fit her, but then you go on to support her getting a whole-ass WEDDING DRESS as a cosmetic.
Tell me how tf you gonna run away from a deformed hillbilly or hulking Oni moving at 300MPH in a ######### Wedding Dress. Explain that to me right now.
Cosmetics that I do like for Claudette:
- The Lab Intern from Tome 1 in the archives looks really nice imo and though I hardly ever play Claudette I think it's what I wear regularly for her. She wears "Comfy clothes to keep [her] warm while collecting samples in the wild." and "Loose jeans with wide pockets and a utility belt to carry all her equipment around.". If that doesn't fit her character I don't know what does
- Shrub Scholar cosmetics (there are three) all look pretty cute "A fun, casual combination of sweater, skirt, and boots. Perfect for checking out some plants and lifeforms."
- Elegant Scholar cosmetics (there are three) also look very nice "An elegant outfit for an elegant botanist. Chic and casual, yet professional and smart."
- Vigo's pupil is also a very popular cosmetic, although that's probably mostly in part due to the lore behind it and the whole fantasy of the Hallowed Blight, Visceral Cankers, and Putrid Serum. Doesn't mean it still doesn't look cool though "Formally owned by an apothecary who used alchemy to obtain chemical and herbal ingredients into a prime material."
Although looking over her "very rare" cosmetics which are supposed to be the premium really good looking ones, I can see what you mean she doesn't have much that looks that great or "fit her" so to speak. The Frosh Week Fanfare and Roving Healer (part of the Fog Travelers collection) are probably the best of the bunch, but the Winter Gala, Spring Break, Belle of the Ball, and Open Day Student (Japanese theme) all look out of place I agree.
Still though, I think it's a bit selfish considering Claudette still has a crap ton of cosmetics because she's one of the original four compared to everybody else. Jeff Johansson and Adam Francis have literally absolutely nothing, they have maybe on or two really nice cosmetics and the other ones are locked behind a paywall. Or even worse those one or two really nice cosmetics are locked behind a paywall on their own. Compared to these two, saying Claudette has no good cosmetics is just being flat out nitpicky

Oh I just want that Nancy Halloween party outfit.
A lot of people like this outfit, and it seemed like one of those no-brainer outfits that these characters would have in-game when they first released, or at least it seemed to me at the time. Just because this was one of the most memorable outfits from the show (because it was literally a halloween party [and also the scene where Steve and Nancy broke up T_T])
I think it's possible that the devs are just waiting for next Halloween to negotiate with Netflix or just to release the cosmetic at the appropriate time of the year.
They look cool and I know I like them as some of the most iconic wear of the show, but I'm surprise they've exceeded the votes for characters that don't have any (or many) cosmetics yet all the way tied for first with Freddy Krueger himself. I guess chalk that up to how popular Stranger Things is, which is no secret, I'm more than sure that they'll get more cosmetics down the line whatever they may be.

Old BT had this really cool black and white effect that I liked, whenever it activated your whole screen would become black and white and it looked pretty cool and really made your dire situation super evident (the bleedout time was also much quicker if I remember than current Deep Wounds which takes over 30 years for you to bleed out). But as it stands new BT serves an actual purpose in the 3.6.2 climate of the game.

I think it would be super cool if one particular dev stream when they're introducing a new chapter, and everybody's hype for the new (licensed?) killer, survivor, map, etc. and the devs go "and we also have a few new perks we'd like to introduce..." and they bust out with some 5 or 6 brand new perks to fill the general perk pool. People would lose their minds
It would be dope, but I bet you some Dev or Mod who is reading this is sweating bullets because of how much content and work that is to produce and release.

I think most people wish they could play nurse, but my god i'm done embarrassing myself trying... survivors standing on the opposite side of the pallet while i just continually bump in to the bstard thing :D
I'll probably end up trying again at some point in the future, I've already embarrassed myself while playing killer so many times it doesn't even matter at this point. IE when I was working to get every killer to level 40 for their teachables I decided to play every killer for those bloodpoints, and needless to say I did not have any fun with killers that I suck at. Pig, Leatherface, Plague, Demo (who wasn't as bad, but still not great with) were all not good times. Although I did get better with every killer in the process, and learned more about my personal preference and playstyle, and massively grew and improved my tolerance for toxic survivors, me being awful (on awful) certain killers, etc. still was not a fun time.
I think the end goal / reward for embarrassing yourself trying to learn the Nurse is well worth it. Plus she has some pretty cool looking cosmetics I won't lie
-
People say that it's impossible but really I just feel like they aren't doing it right :/
According to the Dead By Daylight wiki: "Survivors need to see at least 20 % of Ghost Face's body within the centre 26 % of the Player's screen for at least 1.5 seconds to reveal him."
This means if both conditions aren't met, you're not busting him out of his power. He can't be on the left or right sides of your screen he needs to be in the dead center, and a certain portion of his "hitbox" needs to be seen. The hitbox is minimized / is made smaller when he's crouching so you need to account for that, and if he's "hiding" behind anything, even if it's tufts of grass that are obstructing your view. I think the reveal also depends on range, how far you are away from Ghostface, but this isn't directly mentioned in the wiki, however you can infer that the farther away you are from something the smaller it looks / less pixels it takes up on your screen.
I say all this just because most of the time the system works fine for me, I'm almost always able to break him out of it, I just say it works fine without saying it works perfectly because there are a few kinks here and there that should be improved but for the most part, yeah it works. To say it's impossible would be a gross exaggeration, just as it would be to say it's super easy.
But that I think is more a problem of the poll itself and the language OP decided to use, there are probably people out there who don't want to say it's fine but there is no other negative option besides "it's impossible" which is a far left field, all the way to the end of the spectrum kind of response.
-
Yeah
I don't know why I'd be frequenting the forums, paying attention to most DBD news outlets, leaks, and coming up with insane conspiracy theories for why Candyman, Pinhead, and Pennywise are the top three contenders for the next chapter (though really, they aren't all that insane).
-
It's kinda funny because this entire poll is basically every killer EXCEPT the ones I play most often...
I'm a Ghostface main who secondary's Freddy, but also plays a bunch of Trapper, Oni, and Deathslinger and Hillbilly to a slighly lesser extent. So obviously I went with Freddy out of the options available.
But killers like Bubba, Piggy, Plague, Demogorgon, Spirit, Myers (to a lesser extent) just don't jive with me imo, I'd like to be better as Nurse but as of now I suck (and it would be super difficult in the ranks I'm in).
-
A lot of new players mistake the wiggle mechanic's purpose to be able to wiggle out of the killers grasp. It's actually not, the main purpose for wiggling is to make sure that a killer doesn't take you all the way across the map into the basement since that hook is the most disadvantageous to be placed on.
If a fellow survivor sabotages a hook or you + a teammate are running perks like Flip flop, boil over, Breakout, etc. it may be possible to wiggle out of the killers grasp far more frequently especially if they don't realize what you're doing and aren't running perks like iron grasp, agitation, mad grit, etc. But it's really not all that reliable.
As it should be, because if survivors were able to frequently wiggle out of the killers grasp (especially just because they hit a couple of skillchecks) killers would hardly ever be able to hook anybody unless they were extremely close to a hook.

So... what about Dwelf then? Or is that allowed because it fits the theme? : /
There could be a lot of cosmetic choices people say are silly and dont belong, yet they are here to stay. Ugly sweaters are another good example of this.
No need to write an essay for what is clearly a joke.
Except they aren't jokes, if you read my paragrah on the Clown you would see that, or did you ignore it? I can take not only Dwelf, but every cosmetic that Dwight has that might seem "funny" to some people and explain all of them because of the context of his character.
Dwight Pizza Delivery Boy, Chute Malfunction, & Mr. Elf cosmetics -
If you look at Dwight's character he's very clearly meant to be a loser. Not even an underdog, just a straight up social outcast who has been ignored most of his life and because of that there's a bit of sadness to his character. This is reflected in his cosmetics which feature him wearing clothes from many of the different odd jobs he's held such as in pizza joints as a delivery boy, or working long overtime hours over the holidays in a ridiculous elf outfit at the mall. This also provides a kind of motivation or reason for him to wear the Chute Malfunction, since most of his life is ironically lifeless he might want to get involved in something quite the opposite, an extreme sport like parachuting. However since he has no aptitude for anything or just has really terrible luck his chute failed and "Dwight's stuck in the woods. What's that noise?"
The Mr. Elf costume isn't some quirky, fun outfit Dwight likes to wear for the holidays he very obviously hates the thing from descriptions of it, and rightly so believes it to look utterly ridiculous. "Dwight hated every single minute of his new job and the irritating fake ears only amplified his frustration. ... To him, the only good thing about this sparkling sweater was that it was highly flammable. He wished he could burn it with those ridiculous fake ears ... Just when Dwight thought things couldn't get worse, he ripped his tights. He had to borrow this pair of weathered, second-hand tights for the rest of his contract." so while everybody is laughing at how Dwight looks, the character himself feels properly miserable, a very gloomy and depressing tone which is fit for a horror story of a character who struggles to pay rent, make ends meet, constantly jumping from job to job etc.
It's really easy from here to see how Dwight delivering pizza late at night in a suburb like Haddonfield where he is stalked by a maniac with a knife, or, after a particularly long shift at the mall in his elf costume (work clothes) on his way home a group of teens in masks with knives start chasing him down the snowy streets, or stuck in the forest separate from his parachuting group and completely alone save for a tall woman throwing Axes his way.
This same kind of logic can be applied to basically any cosmetic for any character in the game
I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade here, but at the same time there's no need to roast me because I like to read into lore and analyze. Even if our viewpoints differ, I'm of the mindset DBD is a serious game and it should be treated as such, the devs themselves a long time ago said they also wanted to keep it serious despite what some people view as "dubious more comedic" additions to the game.
Also, P.S. I don't see how the ugly sweaters are comical, people wear sweaters? and each of the sweaters are custom made and tailored specifically to those characters and their backstories, so 1. they fit the context because they're character specific and 2. again, they're sweaters.

I must have missed it... but I would have noticed sunglasses Freddy. : D
Like I said, I didn't include everything but all ideas are welcome. :)
On a personal note though, I'm not a huge fan of Joke cosmetics, I mention a few of them in the polls because I know people will talk about them regardless of my opinion on them so I might as well include them in the polls to begin with, but I'm not the biggest proponent for the integration of cosmetics like Sunglasses Freddy, Derp-Face, and Speedo Quentin. This is why none of them appeared as images in the poll, and Sunglasses Freddy didn't show up in the poll options because I think this is one of the lower priority cosmetics people want to see just generally speaking out of the whole history of the character.
These cosmetics don't fit in the game because they don't push forward the horror thematic that Dead By Daylight largely strives to achieve, even if those of us who have played for hundreds of hours might find a kind of humor in the game that's mostly due to desensitization rather than anything else. As for the idea that "the devs have already implemented Joke cosmetics, look at Elephant Clown or shirtless david!" well, that's not entirely true because those cosmetics fit with their characters.
In-game examples explained
David
David is an aggressive athlete who loves to get into bar fights and brawls, he's described almost like a bully or a bit of an ######### so it makes sense that he would show off his physique to not only gloat but be condescending or intimidating to others. Those same cosmetics sport generally sport hand wraps that have blood on them because of the fistfights David gets into and if there are no hand wraps you can see his knuckles are actually bruised beneath. In different variations of this cosmetic we can see all kinds of bruises and scars that cover his body because of the extremely intense fights he likes to participate in. This makes sense because of his lore and his character
The Clown
Likewise the Clown dresses up flamboyantly and vibrantly in order to lure in his victims and lull them into a false sense of security. A very clear and intentional contrast to the disturbing individual beneath the exuberant makeup and flashy clothes, once isolated and alone he drugs his victims with the afterpiece tonic he's personally concocted making it even easier to overpower his victims on top of his naturally big size. The Elephant Clown cosmetic is made even darker and more sinister if you consider the fact that this is tailored to look like the exaggerated mascots of characters from Family Entertainment Restaurants like Chuck E Cheese. Meaning "Mr. Puddles" as the name of the cosmetic is called, might have been made to lure in much smaller prey, which wouldn't be outside of his character because he likes to collect Trophies of all kinds. "Men, women, young, old, he didn't care. The essence of a good collection is in the variety, in the memories and stories they evoke." and this is basically confirmed in a separate cosmetic which is literally titled "Children's Parties"... that doesn't leave much to the imagination. Even if he's not going after children are you really going to tell me it wouldn't be terrifying to stumble into a huge man wearing a bloodied elephant costume in an alleyway at night? Viewed from this light, the "Mr. Puddles" cosmetic isn't so funny anymore.
Joke cosmetics and context
On the other hand, the proposed Joke cosmetics that people want to see don't fit the themes of their characters. The version of Freddy we see in Dead By Daylight is a much darker more serious version than the self-parody that Freddy fell into after the fourth movie was released, and even if we did get a more lighthearted version of Freddy if we secured Robert Englund's likeness the cosmetic still wouldn't work because there wouldn't be the proper context to fit the cosmetic.
Sunglasses Freddy
Sunglasses Freddy works in the movie because of the context of the scene, in the movie he appears in the Nightmare of a Woman relaxing on a perfect day at the beach. Freddy mockingly fits on a pair of sunglasses for the occasion, not for no reason, but to ridicule, deride, and mock her in the setting. When she runs away she is quickly caught stuck in quicksand and with the sunglasses on he kicks her over and over deeper into the quicksand and then laughs as he relishes the moment. But taken out of context as the internet often does, it quickly becomes memeable, and nothing more than just an iconic horror villain looking funny because he has sunglasses on. This doesn't work in Dead By Daylight, because the context doesn't fit, there is no beach, no hot sand or water in sight, and hell there isn't even a sun in any of the maps save for one singular location. It doesn't make sense
Speedo Quentin
Likewise Quentin Smith in his story is on his high school swim team, it makes sense for him to wear a speedo when he's trying to do fast laps and be as efficient as possible in the water. When he's pulled into the dream world very briefly due to micro sleep because at this point in the movie he's been awake for many many hours he's understandably scared. Confused as to where he is, and looks and feels completely out of place because he's wearing a speedo in some kind of factory yard. He's wet, and terribly cold in his new surroundings and how he holds himself tightly reflects that. Since I can't imagine the devs would create entirely new animations for a single cosmetic, all this uncertainty that the character exudes in the moment is washed away, because the context is no longer there and it just becomes a guy walking around in the dark in a speedo.
Derp-Face
Derp-face isn't even an actual mask Ghostface ever uses in any of his actual FILMS. It's a mask very briefly used for a joke in "Scary Movie" a parody of the original Scream movies and very obviously a Comedy not a horror movie. Ghostface in Dead By Daylight is not the same character in either Scream or Scary Movie but a unique original one from BHVR that retains many of the horror elements of uncertainty and "who is it beneath the mask" of the original character. He's a proficient serial killer who actually enjoys what he does, he literally does this ######### for fun unlike most of the other killers here who were forced, coerced, or persuaded by the entity to do its dirty work he welcomed the change in scenery and needed absolutely no incentive to track down and murder anyone he found in the fog. His mind isn't broken, he wasn't wronged in any way and is out for revenge, he is fully aware of his surroundings and in complete control of his actions but he doesn't care, he is entirely willing and this arguably makes him the most evil character in the game. He takes pride in his work and is even shown to possess a dark sense of humor taking selfies with dying survivors in his mori who are bleeding to death in the photo. But this dark sense of humor is a very far cry from the purely comedic "derp-face" mask which doesn't fit contextually in any horror setting.
TL;DR "Joke cosmetics" such as the big aforementioned three don't have a fitting place for the aesthetic Dead By Daylight pushes forward. While many may find some dark sense of humor (or just straight up comedy) from certain existing cosmetics in the game, they still work because they properly fit the context of the character they belong to. Likewise, many of these proposed joke cosmetics (the aforementioned big three) only work because of the context of their source material, context which just doesn't exist in DBD.

Not even perks that close the solo swf gap or that add a second objective for survivors?
Yes, not even those. Perks are good on their own to fulfill the intended mechanic that is their purpose, they would be absolutely broken for either side ESPECIALLY the suggestions people have in mind. Ruin is still a top tier perk even after it's rework, and the pressure good killers can force would be insane. Kindred also gives an incredible amount of information to survivors that a lot of the time they don't normally have access to. New players would be able to make perfect plays that normally they aren't skilled or knowledgeable enough to pull off otherwise, and low rank dynamic would probably shift drastically. Rather than having to learn that on their own themselves like everybody else had to do when they first started playing survivor
The gap between Solo and SWF should be bridged in other ways, but making perks base kit for either side is not one of them.

So I've written about the issues with 2v8 before (I'll link the post if anyone's interested) but one thing I noted was that a lot of killers are, lore-wise, not inclined to cooperate. So I'm gonna break down which killers would do well in 2v8, lore-wise.
Trapper: Fine. Might not like Wraith for being a proletariat immigrant.
Wraith: very good! For a lot of these other killers, it's "out of sight, out of mind". Although he does have morals, and apparently a temper, so he attack someone like Freddy if he got mad enough.
Hillbilly: here's where we start to have a problem. He has no positive experiences with humans, it's unknown if he can even talk. He would likely see other killers the same way he sees survivors.
Nurse: Nurse is a wild card. Her ability would cooperate would probably depend on how broken her mind is, and a certain amount of luck.
Huntress: She would simply not cooperate. This girl hunted soldiers for sport, she'll just roll her eyes at The Hag or The Legion. Actually, she might try and kidnap Julie or Susie...
Doctor: He could probably be convinced not to hit other killers, if for no other reason than to not give them a reason to kick his butt. But if his static field (soon to be static blast) can hit survivors he doesn't know is there, it might very well hit killers too.
Myers: Maybe The Entity could convince him not to attack killers. Maybe he'd kill them like everyone else. I don't think we know enough to say.
Hag: She'd just try and eat them.
Leatherface: Since he looks at The Entity as a protector he wouldn't kill what it doesn't want him to kill.
Freddy: He probably wouldn't attack anyone. Not physically, anyways.
Pig: She'd keep things professional, I think. Probably see them as fellow disciples of Jigsaw.
Clown: He'd cooperate. But he wouldn't like it.
Spirit: Nope. She's a killing machine. Doesn't matter who.
Legion: The problem with The Legion wouldn't be that they wouldn't cooperate with the other killers, it's that they'd be afraid of them. They're just a bunch of punks who stabbed a janitor. Imagine them meeting The Hag or The Demogorgon.
Plag: I'm gonna give her the benefit of the doubt and assume The Entity will give all the others killers plag vaccines, so when they don't get sick she'll probably see them as something akin to an angel.
Ghostface: He wouldn't be aggressive, but he would probably be passive-aggressive. He works alone.
Demogorgon: REEEEEEEEE! But really, probably not cooperative. Idk how intelligent it is, but regardless, meat is meat.
Oni: The only person The Oni would respect is The Spirit, who ironically might hold a particular grudge against The Oni since she doesn't have a great relationship with her male progenitors.
Finally, I'm thinking of writing a fanfic with 2v8 trials focused on exploring killer relationships. Would that be interesting?
I feel like the description of the Legion is a bit of a disservice to those characters.
In the Darkness Among Us Chapter spotlight they are described as follows: "The raw cravings and impulses of adolescence are incredibly powerful, the desire to belong can be just as strong, when teens get involved with an impulsive mastermind [the Entity] they discover an addictive kind of freedom. They spiral out of control and become the wrong kind of crowd, The Legion, which leaves no rule unbroken."
This kind of follows the line of thought or thinking that teens believe themselves to be more or less invincible, that nothing really bad will ever happen to them. As such I believe that's more or less how the members of the Legion would react upon being placed in a trial with any of the other killers. They'd just scoff, completely unafraid and defiant of whatever monstrous figure stood before them and maybe even talk some mad ######### / smack talk.
Here's how I imagine some of their interactions would play out:
Trapper: "Some big spikes sticking out of your shoulder, compensating for something?"
Wraith: "Whatcha gotta hide for??"
Hillbilly: "You are one ugly motherf*cker"
Nurse: *Mockingly waves hand in front of head* "Can you even see anything through that pillowcase?"
Myers: "Nice jumpsuit, dressed perfectly to clean up Mount Ormond Resort... you know I killed a Janitor once"
Pig: "Another piggy to send to the slaughterhouse, I always liked bacon"
Clown: "Heyyy~ nice hustle tons of fun! Next time eat a salad."
Spirit: "Daddy issues? Or just that time of the month?"
Plague: "I wanna throw up just from looking at you"
Demogorgon: (After demogorgon roars right in Legion's face) *pins index finger and thumb over mask, mockingly* "Your breath stinks. Ever brush your teeth?"
Oni: *slowly looks upward from feet to chest to Oni mask* "What do they FEED you!?"
Basically teens talking a big game as per (sometimes) usual, considering their relationship with the Entity I don't think they'd let themselves be intimidated by anyone. At least that's how I'd imagine their characters to respond

There are absolutely no perks that should be made base-kit for either side. There really is no other way to put this

But this one streamer with 3000 hours in the game who plays dbd for a living can easily 4k with the clown! That means that the clown is balanced and doesn't need any buffs or tweaks! The game should be balanced around the top 1% of players who can run the killer for five gens or 4k with no perks no addons nurse every game!

I'm surprised I know the answer here
The campfire itself is one of 6 known sub-realms to the Entity's realm in Dead By Daylight, while the survivors return to the campfire itself whether they escape or die so do the Killers. The Killers are stalking the Survivors from a distance, also awaiting the next trial, but without engaging with the Survivors. It is also where both Survivors and killers burn their offerings to influence the Entity during the next trial.
This is basically directly seen and represented through the lobby / queue, where the four survivors about to enter the next trial are placed together briefly, and from the Killer point of view: he / she watches them from a farther off position where they (the survivors) can't see them (the killer[s]).
I think this can probably be inferred in two different ways, it could be that the Killer simply lurks just beyond the light provided by the campfire in the shadows between the trees and brush, or a second way is that the killers wait in a darkness farther beyond the campfire and they are provided a kind of far-sight or window to see the survivors there.
What I'm fairly certain about however, is that the Killers are isolated, unlike the Survivors who are grouped together and can interact and talk (supposedly?) with each other the killers are completely alone. I can't remember exactly what stream but I'm more than fairly certain the devs said this once upon a time in one of their many streams. So they actually don't interact with each other, but I think they said it was an interesting thought whether or not the killers ever meet with each other, whether they are aware of each other's existence, how they would act towards each other (cooperatively, apathetically, or aggressively), and whether or not they could possibly meet in the future. As it stands we just don't know this information
Most of this info comes from the official Dead By Daylight Wiki:

I'm surprised Wes Craven's New Nightmare isn't here. It would be an interesting look. And of course, Sunglasses Freddy!
I didn't put the image in, since I wanted to give every character 2 images each to avoid over-clutter (save for a few exceptions like Steve / Nancy who were both grouped into the same poll option so they got 3, and characters who I just for the life of me couldn't find many options as I described in the thread itself AKA Quentin, Detective Tapp, The Pig, Demogorgon [who didn't see any images in this thread] etc.
However, I deliberately mentioned "Trench Coat Freddy" in the poll option for Freddy Krueger. This is the exact look he sports in Wes Craven's New Nightmare since a Trench Coat (more or less) is added to the classic Freddy Ensemble as well as a slightly different burned Face, different claws which are now attached to directly to his fingers with the noticeable addition of a fifth claw attached to his thumb, etc.
So I actually did include Wes Craven's New Nightmare, here are some images of what I was talking about when I mentioned "Trench Coat Freddy"
Keep in mind that I may not have mentioned every idea through the images provided or within the poll options themselves, they are merely just some cool ideas I thought would make fine potential additions. The overarching poll question is what licensed character do you want to see get more cosmetics / support.
-
I highly enjoy the idea of creating different stories tailored to each individual skin that every character has. A lot of people don't think about it and they just prefer to laugh and think of them like jokes, but almost every skin or cosmetic that exists can realistically be tailored to some kind of story or moment in time where that character would be wearing those clothes. Because of this element of practically / true-to-life nature of these outfits you can very easily put in a circumstance where they wearing these in an actual terrifying moment, something out of a horror movie.
For example using Dwight as an example:
It's really easy from here to see how Dwight delivering pizza late at night in a suburb like Haddonfield where he is stalked by a maniac with a knife, or, after a particularly long shift at the mall in his elf costume (work clothes) on his way home a group of teens in masks with knives start chasing him down the snowy streets, or stuck in the forest separate from his group and completely alone save for a tall woman throwing Axes his way.
This same kind of logic can be applied to basically any cosmetic for any character in the game, and you can come up with some pretty fun and creepy headcanon stories that flesh out those hypothetical scenarios. But just to briefly mention a few other key ones:
Nea - Modern Rebel: A very modern neon look that would fit in basically any Rave or Club setting, with plenty of unsuspecting victims distracted dancing on the floor and plenty of drinking and drugs to dull the senses of those who might be more aware... making it all the easier for the killer who stalks the edges of the scene, or perhaps hides among them?
Feng Min - Happy-Go-lucky (bunny feng min): Your average gamer who dresses for comfort more than anything else, wraps herself up in a soft hoodie with bunny ears.. wait, did that sound come from the speakers or from inside the apartment?
Clown - Mr. Puddles (elephant clown): Kenneth Chase often disguised himself to perform at children's parties, but he upped the ante when he found a dirty mascot costume in a garbage, he could patch it up, glue some buggy eyes on it... perfect. Picking up his favorite knife he entered through the back door of the "Family Entertainment Restaurant" oh he'd entertain alright.
-
If there was a vote option for "Almost never" that's the one I would go for but "Only in extreme cases (awful or wonderful games)" comes pretty close to that.
I ignore it most of the time except for in rare instances where I had a really nice game and I decide to vote for how fun and quality it was. If I had a very frustrating game, more often than not you'll just see me leave right away to hop into the next game (or maybe get off).
It's a largely ignored feature though, at least for veterans I think. For new players who have seen that ever since they started I think they use it more than anybody else, because they think people actually are supposed to leave feedback lol. I know my friend who started playing again recently on his own in brown ranks was actually leaving legit answers

I still don't understand why it would have been so hard to say "I don't think that your worries are realistic" or "Let me explain why I don't agree with your argument". Both say the same as "I think your idea is dumb" but they do sound nicer. I understand that discussions can become heated and it would be a lie to say I'm always nice to people in a discussion but I didn't even replied to you, we weren't in an already heated argument, you started the discussion with me while using rude terms (even if it might not have been your intention to be rude) and I think starting a discussion with rude terms kinda sets it up to fail.
As for dumb players being responsible for their actions: Yes, they obv are but I'm not responisble for getting matched with them. I recently faced a Rank 1 Doc while having a Rank 17 survivor in my lobby because he queued with a higher ranked survivor. If I would have been able to see his rank in the Lobby I would have dodged, but I can't see that.
And believe me if I see someone selfcaring in a corner instead of saving I'll ask him in the endgame chat what he was doing but I don't think that that will make him change his behavior.
I don't see how that change makes the game more skillful though when a significant portion of players will ignore it because they are playing as SWF. And for Solos luck will still be an important factor when fighting with the change, depending on map size and where the player gets downed.
If the Devs said: "We heard your complains about gen rush, failing a skillcheck will now give an extra x% penalty" wouldn't the reaction be: "That's a useless change, the people that frequently miss skillchecks aren't the ones that genrush"? That's how I feel about the proposed change, I think it is aimed at the wrong people.
Your second point is about something else entirely, matchmaking is its own a completely separate and very complicated issue that will continually need to be addressed into the future. Ideally we shouldn't see major crossover like that with reds being in brown lobbies or vice versa, and thus the balance decisions that the devs make shouldn't be with broken matchmaking in mind, because sometime down the line we won't see these matchmaking issues anymore, it's not something that's meant to be permanent.
Also the example of having an extra penalty on skillchecks doesn't exactly work because that's very clearly a change intended to punish the capabilities of survivors, whereas the blindness changes are very clearly a change intended to increase the viability of strategies and builds outside of the current meta.
And bringing this back to the poll itself which I haven't brought up thus far but I think needs to be mentioned, while I appreciate this back and forth and you putting greater detail into your opinions and thoughts, you are very clearly voicing a minority opinion by a large margin. Currently over 80% (almost 30 people [27 specifically]) have voted in favor of this hypothetical change and only 15% have voted against (5 people). I'm not saying that this means people should ignore what you're saying, but that doesn't mean we can ignore the 26 other people who have voiced their opinion by voting the way that they did.
It's pretty evident this is a change people want to see.

A long time ago I made a poll that pitted every single Licensed character against each other for who wanted to see cosmetics for different licensed characters. Although I did supply a few ideas and images the main question was what licensed character do you want to see more cosmetics and support for?
Taking the current results: this outfit specifically (as well as Leatherface generally speaking) came out tied for second place I think, between two other characters: Freddy Krueger & Stranger Things Nancy Wheeler / Steve Harrington (I grouped them together in my poll) all with 5 votes each. With Michael Myers pulling ahead for first at 6 votes, and Ghostface pulling up just behind in third place at 4 votes.
Here is a link to that poll if you want to check it out:

Licensed characters sport plenty of cool looks that we haven't seen yet in Dead By Daylight, but that doesn't mean they'll never happen. What do you want to see next?
On a personal level, I was extremely hyped when rumor was going around that Ghostface would see a new cosmetic and I had high hopes it would be Scarecrow Ghostface which I think would be super creepy to see stalking around one of the Coldwind maps, or even the Grave of Glenvale. Though it turned out to be the Viper Mask and Crimson robes, (Still cool but not what I was looking for) I still hold out hope that we'll see Scarecrow Ghostface in the future.
Although I will say that the Red Leather Jacket that Ash is shown wearing throughout the Evil Dead show is absolutely dope, so it'd have to be up there on top choices for me.
EDIT:
Unfortunately the cap is 10 options and there are 11 licensed characters (if you squish Steve and Nancy as one) so I had to sacrifice one :( . If you were hoping to see Bill Overbeck in the poll options just comment your support instead
EDIT 2:
Of course keep in mind this question extends beyond the suggestions and images that I myself provide. The real question is which licensed characters do you want to see supported by more cosmetics and if you have any ideas of your own, please mention them below.
(For example I had a tough time figuring out alternate outfits for the Demogorgon and The Pig, this is because for the most part their cosmetics which have been released so far came out of the minds at BHVR, rather than only how they've appeared in the source material or other pop culture material like artwork, collectables, and halloween related products. The Demogorgon especially because Stranger Things is still relatively new and only has 2 seasons so far with a third on the way)
Here are a few images for the ideas:

BONUS / Honorable mention - Bill Overbeck:
Obviously these polls are technically always ongoing, so you could put in your own vote and express your support.
EDIT: Leatherface is now tied for first with Michael at 6 votes
Obviously it would be super cool to see cosmetics for characters who don't have cosmetics yet. That's basically a given, so it goes without saying people want to see something like this for Leatherface, and something for Freddy Krueger, as it stands though that is completely up to the licensed holders. Who knows though, DBD has become hugely successful and a popular place for really cool Horror licenses to take up residence so I think it's fairly probable somewhere down the line these characters will get something.

It might sound cliche but I swear I had these thoughts independently months apart, but I'm really looking for a Water / Fire themed chapters.
The water themed chapter title would be "Tide of Terror" and would feature a killer fisherman armed with a long fishing spear, or what I like better a killer in an old-timey Dive Suit - the ones with the heavy metal boots and metal helmet with porthole windows to see through who would also be equipped with the same weapon. The map for this kind of killer would be something like an old ship yard or dock, or possibly some isolated island with a lighthouse, or maybe a giant Shipwreck of a huge ship that has multiple decks. The overall feel and tone of the chapter would be very melancholy and filled with tragedy featuring a killer with a tragic past or backstory for lore (probably drowned, perhaps the diving suit malfunctioned and there's a hole in the back of it where water flooded into the helmet). To see how this old timey dive suit has been adapted for a horror aesthetic look no further than the Big Daddy's of the Bioshock series
The fire chapter would be the exact opposite and feel very high energy potentially inspiring emotions like rage, actually isn't my own idea, but something I heard from HybridPanda's YT channel awhile back, the chapter title is "Rise from the Ashes" and features a Firefighter for a killer who used to protect people from fires, but after his death / disappearance after the last intense fire he responded to, now uses those same fires against his victims. "The Phoenix" uses a combination of fire and smoke to burn and debilitate the survivors, dressed in full fireman equipment with an oxygen tank strapped to his back, a fireman's Gas Mask strapped around his face and a helmet over his head he wields a fireman's axe.
The Fireman's Axe would look different from the Huntress axe because it has a sharp point sticking out the opposite end (potential use in a Mori) but if it still felt too Huntress-y I had this idea that he could wield a Fire Hook instead, which the kind I have in mind is a kind of Forcible Entry Tool that Firemen can use that could probably be repurposed to be a pretty cruel looking weapon to swing around as a killer. I think the map for this killer would probably be the last fire he tried to put out, maybe it could be giant burned forest which is still smoking and it turns out he was fighting a forest fire before he disappeared or it could be a burned yet still standing building kind of like the asylum but much more visibly burnt, a skeleton of the former structure.
Horror Firefighter concept images 1
Fire hook & Horror Firefighter image concept 2
HybridPanda video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OHL95eQaAIJust some wacky thoughts I like to think about, obviously the Fire themed chapter is more developed than the Water one because it's not my own, and has a whole video dedicated to it, but really I'd love to see both pretty equally. I think I'd like to see the water theme a tad more because there's a lot of room to make something really cool for that map-wise the devs just started to change the background beyond the walls of the map with the most recent Dead Dawg Saloon location where you can see rising mountains and a sun just beginning to rise after a gruesomely chilling night which isn't quite over, if we could see something like that, but with crashing waves and rain that would be pretty cool.
Of course let's be honest, we're all looking for the next licensed killer chapter which could be Pinhead, Pennywise, or Candyman are the top 3 likeliest candidates imo. Pinhead theme would be something about sin and purgatory type deal, Pennywise is all about your inner fears (and killer clowns), and Candyman has his whole shtick about being an urban legend (and a lot about bees). Would not mind seeing any of these three at all
