How can you tell it's in the past 2 weeks?
The "Recent Activity" on Steam profiles is based on all of their game time in the last two weeks (in all games), if you have another method of knowing, I'd love to know.
Edit: Also if they're very good and /actually/ putting in 200 hours a fortnight they'd probably have high MMR anyways.

DBD bans aren't necessarily vac ban, right?
No VAC bans are for games with VAC enabled servers, which is not DBD.
Other games (like dbd) show up as a "Game Ban" on the profile of the user.
-
Temporary bans do not show on steam profiles, this is part of the reason why people think BHVR don't do anything, only permanent game bans will show.
-
Most people don't believe the in-game reporting does anything so a lot of people just make joke reports, especially for content.
-
Idk man, when I play killer I get "gg ezs" or "you played like crap" etc... when I get toxic killers I get stuff like this lmao, this guy even 4K'd me and the people I got queued with, I just complained because he spent the entire game tunneling me and hitting me on hook for genuinely the entire game so I had a little moan that it was boring, then he came to my stream and... lmao
At least Twitch dealt with his channel in about an hour.

no threads got deleted. We merged some threads into one - for a couple of reasons, the main ones being that it makes it apparent how many people are affected by an issue and two, to keep track of everything for the moderators.
But no threads on this topic were deleted.
The moderators do a good job here, but I think the merging could have been done slightly better.
I made a complaint thread about the skin, which had 11 upvotes within about 10 minutes of being made at the time, and it got merged with a thread from a few hours before mine that was asking what the skin was, it made no sense and honestly a lot of people felt like the complaints were being hidden.

I...are you sure you know what 'intent' means?
I'm honestly not sure.
I'm saying that both of these things are intended to make someone more frustrated and unhappy after a bad game - someone is trying to extract enjoyment from making someone else miserable.
Also - what the hell football games are you watching? Because, even at the college level, you'd probably get a fine or a suspension for being unsportsmanlike. I remember one of our local players got benched for several games because he refused to shake hands after the match.
Kids sports - I've seen players and even parents ejected for far less.
Yea telling someone to kill themselves is disgusting and supposed to actually harm people, saying gg ez is nothing like it means nothing.
You genuinely don't think players in scrums are trash talking each other on the field? 💀😂
Dbd isn't a professional setting, and that's something you're clearly missing.

No...no I did not. And the fact that you're saying that...why strawman?
I'm saying that being nasty isn't a good thing, and when you're nasty the fault lies on you to fix yourself, not on people to ignore you. Because that's not how human beings work as a species.
My comment started with "death threats are not the same as gg ez" and you opened with "the intent is the same". You're implying they're similar in meaning.
Anyway I'm not having this conversation with a bunch of people that get upset over things I've heard said at a children's football game.
"GG ez"
"Noob"
"My 4 year old sister plays better than you"

Ok so now it's op's fault for not quitting the chat. Unbelievable.
Uh no, it's both people's fault but op stayed there and argued with the person instead of moving on which would have taken 0.5 seconds to click the leave button.

The two fora have different standards. Yes, it can be a touch silly that you can say anything short of hatespeech ingame and be safe, but get actioned on the forums for using the word 'jerk' - but it is what it is.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142058#Comment_3142058
It's not the 'slight digs' that are the problem.
'Get over it'...ugh. See, this - right here - is the attitude that annoys me. Because you're shifting the blame from the person going out of their way to try and make someone else feel unhappy, and instead blaming the person for reacting like a human being and not being numb.
People are supposed to feel bad when someone says something like that. Of course, there is such a thing as being oversensitive, but having no reaction whatsoever when someone is a butt after a fair, hard fought game - I'm not sure if that's healthy.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142515#Comment_3142515
I...don't know if 'please sir may I have another' is a healthy response either.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142362#Comment_3142362
The intent is the exact same.
You're using the protection of your monitor to lob nastiness at other players in the hopes that you can upset them, and make them enjoy the game less.
This almost always comes from a position of hate - and why certain forms of hate are tolerated and some forms aren't...that's a bigger discussion.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142484#Comment_3142484
What you are describing isn't toughness.
Being 'tough' isn't being inhuman. Tough people aren't unfeeling, they can just push through.
Two things though.
- What you are describing is being numb, to the point of masochism.
- Why are you focused on the person being insulted 'toughening up', rather than focusing on the person doing the insulting?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142492#Comment_3142492
If you're feeling guilty, it's generally because you know you've done something wrong.
Saying 'you're at fault for making me feel guilty for doing bad things' is something I'll never be able to get behind.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142447#Comment_3142447
I...think you've misunderstood something important here:
- Trash talking between opponents who know each other generally stems from a rivalry, and a rivalry inevitably involves mutual respect.
- It's almost always played up to the Nth degree for publicity's sake too - very seldom is it genuine.
- There is a massive difference between banter within a rivalry, and being nasty to a stranger. Esports organizations absolutely have suspended or penalized players for their behavior on Ladder - because they understand this difference.
- Other Esports organizations also do suspend or penalize players for trash talk in or after a match. Nina, for example, got tournament banned for trash talking PartinG - and this was widely criticized for being too lenient. Again, because there is a difference between some banter and being obnoxious - and people can usually spot the difference.
- The difference being - one is designed to 'play up' a certain kind of relationship, generally for the sake of publicity and drama, and the other to upset or disrespect an opponent.
- Trash talk after a game, especially involving strangers can only be the latter.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3142515#Comment_3142515
Human beings don't stop being human beings just because they are behind a monitor, or an avatar.
Did you really say telling people to kill themselves is the same as "gg ez" 😂💀

Toxicity and respect are not just a forum thing. I don't care if you are my opponent in a videogame. You shouldn't be allowed to mock anybody. Forum or not.
Y'all get so pressed about anything really, dude could have gg'd and gone next yet sat there and replied back to them just to come to the forums and moan about it, banning these people wouldn't make the game any better, hide chat if gg ez is upsetting to you. I think every time I've seen someone complain about EGC they've sat there and argued with the other person and then screenshotted it, you'd have a better experience if you just moved on.

i STRONGLY disagree. Lack of respect is something that shouldn't be allowed in the 1st place. for that logic then you can disrespect everyone just because yes, but i was forgetting that we are talking about a company who put a censor filter in the endgame chat that won't work correctly (a lot of normal words will be censored for no reason, and for that people can misunderstood things) and do more harms than benefits, we are talking about a company who doesn't ban people for extremely bad insults and mean things said in the endgame chat (did various reports in all my hours on dbd both in game and in the official site, mostly death threats, wishes that me and my families die of cancer, racism, etc etc) but guess what? noone of those players was banned (a couple of them were also streamers so it wasn't difficult to see what they were doing). If you are convinced that this is normal then you won't have troubles to have people keep insulting/mocking you all the time... well, good for you i guess
Death threats are a little different to "gg ez", and yes death threats should absolutely be actioned on but terminating someones account over GG EZ would be ridiculous.
I give you props for trying to imply I would want that kind of language to pass by simply because I don't think what's in OP should be bannable, also I literally have a recording of a streaming going live and getting banned after I report I made, do you know what they said in EGC to get banned? "I killed your friend because they're gay". They were given a 3 day suspension, afaik BHVR work on a 3 tiered system, 3 days, 1 week, perma'd. So just because someone said something to you and wasn't immediately banned does not mean they were not punished for it.

So, let's say I write this kind of things in this forum too... Am I allowed to do this without getting moderated?
End game chat and the forums are two different things, there is no competitiveness on the forums, a match isn't being played, literally every video game allows slight digs at people, considering this game is for like 16+ I think we can get over someone calling us bad or saying their 4year old sister could play better, lol.
-
Oh, killers are having queue problems? I guess every survivor has just quit the game. 🤭

...How do you think people prevent killers from reaching a specific hook? protip: it doesn't require saboing the hook, just that they're not running a perk like mad grit.
Hell, with the amount of endurance effects added to the game now, its easier than ever.
Are you implying people only body block if a scourge hook is in play? lol
-
@Ryuhi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3138424#Comment_3138424
You don't get bodyblocked on indoor maps very often then, i take it.
Autohaven? sure. Midwitch? The hook spawns can be rough to begin with regardless of even trying for a scourge.
And what has body blocking got to do with scourge hooks?
-
@Ryuhi said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3138391#Comment_3138391
You ironically just described how bad the scourge hook mechanic is for killers.
Not really, killers can see the hooks pretty easily and can decide if they're going to try and go to their scourge book before hand, survivors have no idea what hook the killer will be going for until they head in the direction, it's incredibly easy to get survivors onto scourge hooks, it's a lot more difficult to preemptively be in the position you THINK the killer is going to go.
If it were so bad killers wouldn't be running it, right?
-
Sabo is pretty useless as a counter, once you identify the hooks you have to be near them all the time counter, two might be next to each other or in opposite corners of the map it's just not feasible to babysit these hooks all game to prevent is activating.

Bug fixed don't count.
Sadako was buffed? You mean the 0.5/1 second (can't remember the actual number) decrease on manifesting/demanifesting? That's barely anything. Did she get any other buffs on her release?
Let's go over a few of the Killer nerfs that we've gotten over 2 years:
Wraith got absolutely deleted, Deathslinger got absolutely deleted, Nemesis was made even weaker, Twins got nerfed hard, Pinhead got nerfed for no reason.
All the significant Survivor nerfs either came from 6.1.0, which weren't as disastrous as most people make it out to be, that one DS nerf and the plethora of CoH nerfs. Other than that, Survivors barely got touched
None of these killers were "deleted" This post is about nerfing wesker on release yet you're having to find minor changes to certain killers that have nothing to do with their release, what tangent are you going on right now because it's ridiculous lmao.
Me - "Most killers are buffed on release"
You - "ACKSHUALLY LOOK AT THESE KILLERS THAT WERE NERFED WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR RELEASE DATE BUT I SHALL LIST THEM ANYWAY BECAUSE KILLER MAINS ON THE FORUMS WILL UPVOTE ME BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CONVERSATION TOPICS"
Sadako Changes btw:
- Decreased max visible range while demanifested to 24m (was 32m)
- Decreased Terror Radius to 24m (was 32m)
- Decreased the amount of Condemned removed when inserting a tape to 3 segments (was 4 segments)
- Decreased time taken to passively gain a condemned segment while holding a tape to 25 seconds (was 30 seconds)
- Add-on: Yoichi’s Fishing Net: Decreases time taken to passively gain a condemned segment while holding a tape by 12% (was 20%)
Survivors nerfs directly affect every single survivor player, nerfing a small number on one killer does nothing to the rest of the cast, they aren't even remotely similar, survivor nerfs are always more impactful than any single killer change.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

Pinhead basically got nerfed upon Release, Artist got nerfed upon release, Sadako hasn't been changed at all, Dredge also hasn't been changed at all.
Can we stop making stuff up and actually use facts? Like... lmao
You named two killers in two years.... Good job buddy!
(Sadako was buffed on release, so good job bringing her up) Dredge had some fixes that made him more powerful than ptb, only one making things up is you.
-
I swear like every killer for the past two years has been buffed upon release but yea, developers are "survivor sided", I also think for like, the past 2 years at least one survivor perk has been nerfed on release as well... lmao.
-
@SOULWARRIOR71K said:
I love when people say “it’s not that good”, yet we see the perk almost every single game now lol. It’s not that it magically got better, it’s just that most people weren’t running it. Now I see 2 survivors on average with it.
Yes because gens times were increased + killers are running another slowdown in place of BBQ.
Survivors could have been doing this before all these changes and yet they didn't, seems they swapped out one of their "second chance perks" to make gens slightly faster if multiple people are on it, you could say... they adapted to the changes.

So we wont have 50 post of it thats why got merged.
My post was complaining about the loot, yours is asking what it was, my post had 10+ upvotes and they put it inside your dead thread. Makes literally no sense to merge a complaint thread into a thread asking what the loot was and then hiding it inside feedback.
-
Why did my thread get merged, one was asking what the loot was mine was complaining about the loot, good way of getting rid of an irritated post I guess.
-
As it's a return of a rift skin, not even a recolour, thanks bhvr 👍
-
Blocking people was never meant to block people from queuing against you and I would argue you are the reason why the system isn't like this, blocking someone because you don't like the way they play is a slippery slope to heavily cherry picking your matches. I would suggest sucking it up and take the losses with the wins.
-
DBD was scary when everybody was new, or you're a new player - killers aren't supposed to be ultimate survivor stomping machines, nor should they, both sides are supposed to be able to win because this is a multiplayer video game in 2022.
Killers being more brutal and killing faster doesn't make the game scary, it makes it tiresome and less enjoyable over longer periods of time.
-
You can press the little icon in the bottom right of the text box and you'll never see it again as it saves state between restarts, I'll be honest I have a lot of positive reactions in end game chat so I'd like to keep it.
-
With the amount of maps they have they could easily block the last map each player was last on to prevent anyone ever seeing the same map twice.
-
Is the game playable right now? Yes
Will the game become unplayable for those after the DLC releases? No
therefore it is not pay to win.
-
Sort of, I have a button I can press that will grab the last 10 minutes played, I could make it longer but I usually only need to grab 10 - 30 seconds of the match.

It matters not. Tunneling is the survivor strategy and the killer strategy too.
If you want to win you tunnel your objective.
Lmao someone's been reading someone's tweets.
And what would you like survivors to do? I swap gens if the killer comes near me in chase etc, what should I do in the mean time, killers cry if I try and go for body blocks or FL saves like anything else I do they complain about it.
-

and M1 killers which there are a lot of them still have to waste time looking for the boon to actually remove it, which is a giant waste of time when the killer has to use their time so preciously
and boons are still a giant bad idea either way, and not everyone will waste a perk slot on a perk that could or could not work depending if the survivors even bring a boon, nobody likes a perk just sitting there teasing them
Ok and? You have a perk to deal with it and that fixes everything.
-
Killers aren't allowed to complain about boons because they added shattered hope.
-
So when they add gen regression perk 30 are y'all gunna stop complaining about gen speeds and gen rush?
This argument holds no weight.
-
They already are, you get substantially more points hooking multiple other survivors and killing more players.
-
Gen speeds have been increased, now gen rushing complaints needs to stop... Oh wait 🤭
