The devs have said twice now that hook death rates didn't increase after the DC penalties were added.
-
Yes, lets make the pool of usable survivor perks even smaller.
-
It's kind of like complaining about movies using well known actors.
People respect and see things like Myers/Freddy/Silent Hill and see that other companies have put their trust in BHVR to create something that is similar and comparable to what we already see from said franchises, it brings in customers, and with this game allowing you to chose to play those it's almost more fulfilling than watching the movies they're in.
-
Doesn't take anything away from the game, only gives people more things to connect with, don't see how his can argued.
-
It takes nothing away from the game but gives people something else to connect to, maybe a Trans person, or a Gay person, or a Lesbian person has nothing to connect to, they're sometimes outcasted from major communities, or find it hard to connec to something, so finally having a definite "this person is gay/pans/trans/bi" is something to connect with, and if something added to a game can make someone smile and feel apart of this community, then I'm all for it.

LOL dude, most of my games in red ranks are against swf.
LOL Dude, most of my games in red ranks are against tunnel ebony mori killers.
Just because i say it doesn't make it true, I have however been accused loads of times of being SWF while soloing
-
Looking at your steam account it was created just today, which seems a little... odd.
What I'm assuming has happened is you were banned on main, thought you could get away with using an alt account and ended up being banned likely due to a HWID ban.
-
It's not even hate dude, it's just a lot of the members here even when playing solo have been accused of SWFing, it happens all the time and while you're making your life easier which is fair enough the majority of the time you're just tunnel mori'ing solo queues so good on you, lol.

I report hackers and never get an email.
Because you're not reporting hackers with evidence to - https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
This is the only way you'll get an e-mail, all the other times you'll just have to assume they have banned the players.
Notice how the player was banned 16 days ago and I was replied to 16 days ago. I'm honestly getting sick of people assuming the devs aren't banning people when they very obviously are I just don't understand what you expect to see as proof they're banning people? They're getting thousands of tickets weekly, and probably tens of thousands of in game reports daily too, it's a lot to go through.
-
If you're DCing this implies you're basing if they're SWF by the way they play in games, so are you really telling us you DC based on if survivors bodyblock or do good flashlight/pallet saves?

How do you know they got banned?
You report them, you save their steam profile, then the devs e-mail you like "we're looking into this matter" and if you go to their steam profile thye usually have a "1 game ban on record, 0 days ago".

*If your the obsession*
If your not the obsession then it was a buff(required reaching 30% wiggle and being dribbled denied it entirely now it only requires being unhooked) so given that there's only 1 obsession in the game having it being buffed for the other 3/4th survivors out weighs the obsession part nerf.
30% is not much at all, imagine coupling that with people on your team running breakout, or you know, just not being near a hook lol.
-
and the perk was also made weaker by having a requirement to activate, so the longer stunned stayed. Isn't the hardest thing to figure out in all honesty.
-
You already get temporarily banned for DCing, they aren't going to add any sort of bans on top of an existing punishment system.
and also for those of you saying to report for DCing, please don't you bog up the report system with something that is automatically punished for, you're just making it easier for hackers to get away with stuff for longer by making their reports go unseen.
-
Soon™
-
Not even by a long shot, Iron Will is by far the strongest survivor perk in the game.

Slugging is the counter to DS. It is not fun for Killers to get stabbed by DS, especially when a Survivor gets on a gen in their face.
You don’t like being slugged? Get better at looping, run Unbreakable or do both!
Killers still slug when there isn't an obsession, it's never solely been about DS, ever.
For what it's worth, I have no issue with slugging but to say it's about countering DS is entirely false.

I did. Again, I intended for people to focus on applauding the mods instead of the story itself, that's why there are so few details.
I honestly read "Here's to the mods, for their work in dealing with these people" as sarcasm, so that's my bad.
-
Just report them dude.
The devs definitely ban people, and if you report this person, and then another person is just as awful it doesn't mean the first person wasn't banned.
-
I feel like we can all agree holding M1 is not the most enthralling of actions, but to then force survivors to look at the same object for 90% of the game does not sound enticing or something beneficial to gameplay.
-
Yea ignore the people in here saying this isn't survivors doing this, this is very much something a survivor can force if they have the right tools installed.
I've seen people have games where they hook everyone just fine except a single survivor who would consistently wiggle out because the hook action would do this.

@Peanits said:
Nope. The game's definitely not dying, first of all. It's more alive than it's ever been. Beyond that, it wouldn't make much sense to switch to dedicated servers and do a complete graphics overhaul if you were planning on dropping support; dedicated servers cost money to upkeep.
At The Game Awards in December 2018, we announced that we would be supporting the game for at least another five years. That still stands. As long as people still want more DBD, we're ready to keep making more DBD.
Do we know if we're getting a solid road-map like the last two year? Or are you guys being ambiguous about it so the community doesn't hold you down to dates that could be missed due to unforeseen circumstances? Thanks for any reply at all.

Tru3 constantly claims everytime he plays killer, the survivors are "optimal" while everytime he plays survivor, his teammates are potatos. Also everytime a survivor 360s him and he wiffs, it was "Dead 'ard", which apparently they must be hackers because they can often times use it several times per chase, lol.
Can we not turn this thread into a hate train for someone this is so unnecessary.
-
But their aim is to P3 + All Perks, most people aren't P3ing a character to never touch it again.
-
I mean, it's ok to dislike a perk but I feel we should refrain from telling people how to play or what to use.
-
Fantastic post, thanks!

Reporting system in this game does literally nothing.
I can promise you people get banned
These are accounts I have saved and looked at after my reports and the majority of accounts that I check up on after I've reported them are banned.
Please please please report people breaking the rules, people saying the system doesn't work are just wrong. Tickets are sequential, the last report I did (today) was #530050 they get hundreds of tickets to go through with a team of about 10 people, it takes time.
-
Just report them for unsportsman like conduct, it's in there.

It's because of latency, from what I read everyone is correct in this thread we are just talking past each other. When he tries to grab, the survivor runs away and the server sides with the survivor. It can happen 50+ times in a match someone just needs a really bad connection and a killer that wants a grab. Because as long as the survivor client doesn't see a grab the server will never acknowledge the grab even if the killer tries 100 times.
See, you're not understanding.
This killer has really bad net, have you ever tried to grab the same person twice in the same animation and it fail both times? I haven't, when I fail a grab the survivor is already running away, watch the video again, he somehow manages two false grabs on the same person in the same locker, which I've personally never seen happen

Your right, it is 100% latency. The thing is the server sides with the survivor in latency issues regarding grabs. Grabs require both clients to acknowledge the grab (locker grabs, gen grabs, ect) but if the survivor client doesn't recognize the grab while the killer client does then the server is biased towards the survivor and decides there was no grab.
So in a way everyone in this thread is correct.
Why is it a thing? I'm guessing so survivors don't feel cheated. They let go of the gen, they are running away then suddenly are teleported onto the killers shoulders. Of course this comes with the issue that killers feel cheated.
I'll say it again incase you don't see my above reply, I know all about faux grabs, but have you ever faux grabbed someone twice from the same locker, or the same gen? I've personally never seen that, but this guy somehow faux grabbed twice on the same person with the same locker, I've NEVER EVER seen that.

My Internet is fine and this still happens to me more often than not, especially when I'm Frenzying as Legion.
I think what's happening to you is different, you get denied a grab once, this guy got denied a grab twice, have you ever seen that before? Because I've definitely seen faux grabs but not two faux grabs on the same locker.
-
@Nos37 said:
It's not entirely about latency. Why does the Survivor's input-spam have priority over my input-spam even though her previous action is still finishing up?
IT can be about latency, on her screen she was probably well away from the locker before you even got to it.
-
If this is happening often, across multiple matches, and you'll probably argue with me because everyone does when their internet is called out, you probably just have a bad connection tonight.

I don't play a lot of survivor. Mostly challenge only. I tend to watch a lot of killer streamers, though.
I slug, when it's necessary to slug. Like, 3 gens popped and I need to put on some pressure. Then I'll slug. But I do think when I watch a killer go into a game with Nurse/Billy/Oni with sloppy/knockout/infectious, and just slug everyone early on, it's a problem, and something needs to be done about it.
I'm not talking about unbreakable - it's one time use, and doesn't remedy the problem. No mither doesn't remedy the issue either. Just like a lot of things BHVR does, it's not well thought out.
I feel like an option should be given to just accelerate the bleed out. Maybe do something like the 4% hook escape; but make even make it less than 4% where you can attempt to get up yourself and have a 2% chance, but if you fail you just bleed out. Either way, BHVR rambles on and on about the "new player" experience; well there ya go. No new player will stick around to sit on the ground for 4 minutes.
There's only 3 perks I currently have an issue with and it's Pop/Infectious/OoO.
I think for killers who have instadowns/fast at downing in general it's so easy to pop infectious on and slug 2/3 people at a time leaving one person to save everyone or the survivors hopefully having Unbreakable on.
The way I see it, if survivors ending matches in 5 minutes or less is a problem, so is killers doing it. But then you get the "if survivors are down in 5 minutes they made mistakes" it can simply be in the wrong place at the wrong time and being caught in that infectious fright that ends the team.

You're not a killer main. Lol
There are so many advantages that survivors have over killer.
If you really mained killer you'd know this, and wouldn't be trying to nerf killing strats.
Why would it matter if they're a killer main or not? Points can still be valid without having to commit to one side, and I've seen a fair amount of Frankies comments and they certainly aren't someone to side with survivors.

Would that have made a difference?
If the killer disconnected the survivors would lose the items they had and all BP they may have gained. If the killer just goes AFK the survivors can still get points and keep items.
Why does it matter AFK/DC if there is a serious matter you attend it really does not matter - no one is against that, this whole thread is about people wanting killers who are intentionally AFKing from the beginning of the game.

Fair enough i suppose. Also well put may I add. Still think leaving games to be played by people all over the world is bound to have issues. Me squading up with a guy in China is BOUND to cause some ping.
yes but because the servers favour the killer (at least that's what the devs have said) they get compensated, when I play with my NA friends I know I'm gunna get hit through pallets often because I'm so far away, and I'm ok with that, the issue arises because people are using VPNs because it mitigates the benefit because the server thinks you are where the VPN is when in actuality it's taking longer for the data to be sent.
-

Really dont see how its any different though than survivors joining SWFs groups from around the globe. Was playing the other day with a guy from Germany while I myself live in the US. The game allows me to invite him into my SWF squad and that would surely lead to the killer having some...interesting experiences on at least one of us depending on which region the game managed to pull the killer from.
Between the player and the VPN there’s about 80ms, then between the VPN and the server there is another 50, then between the server and the NA player there is about 50ms too so that’s like 180ms, but then all that data has to be sent back through it all so it end’s up being 360ms, but the server doesn’t know that because it only cares about the ping between the VPN (because that’s where it thinks the EU player is) and itself. So the data takes way longer to send which makes it harder to compensate the side that's being treated unfairly, unlike when you play with someone from Germany, it knows where that person is, that's WHERE that person is and it doesn't have to jump through a bunch of extra connections for the data to be transferred whereas with a VPN it does, that's why they're different.
-
I likely think these graphics changes will come with an option menu overhaul, the developers know it's long overdue and only being able to select low/medium/high/ultra is far too simple especially with these new graphics coming.
It would be nice if someone could let us know if this is the case and put those people with lower end hardware at peace @Almo @Peanits @McLean

That takes a deliberate few seconds to do. In the moment of an emergency no one would ever be thinking "oh hold on honey you're in pain but I gotta log off first."
ok but nobody is trying to get anyone banned for afking halfway or towards the end of a match, only people that are afking during and entire match.
-
You can look at the content you can earn and decide whether it's worth it to you or not, you can also still earn the free track, and if you get to day 69 and decide buying it will be worth it you can do so and get all the stuff you've unlocked so far - you are not obligated to purchase the pass and it's impossible to please everything with something like this so being annoyed at the tomes is fine and completely reasonable.
I do think it would be fine to fill empty slots with BP/Shards.
-
I think we have a high chance of getting characters that play a large part in original characters stories, I think this could be gender swaps / race swaps if it made sense.
-
There are two different "3 Gen" approaches, and one of them does indeed land you in trouble.
- (non bannable) - protecting 3 gens, committing to chases & killing people with hooking
- (bannable) - hitting people and leaving them injured and kicking gens with unnerving etc on, making it impossible to finish gens, if someone is downed you then pick them up and drop them constantly so they don't bleed out, shocking people off gens to kick them works too, this is essentially taking the game hostage as it's unreasonable to expect survivors to constantly hit tiny skill checks that regress the gens massively.
-
The Red Forest is my favourite realm by a long shot, I'm very excited for those to be redone.

@DrDeepwound said:
I had an instance once where my daughter fell off her bike while playing in the backyard one time and I had to go afk as killer, it sucks if something like that happens and we get banned for it.
In this case you should disconnect, this is a real life situation, i think the biggest issue is people AFKing from the start of the match, and I don't think people are looking for one afk = ban, it's obviously if you're boosting your shards or deranking and being afk over several matches.
-
Do you have any ideas to what could be changed?
-
Claudettes Mother
Dwights Boss
Evans Father
all the super influential people in these characters stories would make fitting legendary characters, they also mentioned that they're bringing new prestige rewards at some point, it would be great to be rewarded with legendaries for P3ing survivors imo.
-
Merge Accounts is usually a One All, One Way System, you usually have to pick which account you want to pull ALL your characters from, trhis said on the stream they are trying to work with partners to enable a cross progression system, so it may not come at all if there isn't an agreement made (likely due to BHVR wanting to keep clothing tied to the account and trying to get the licencees to agree to allow you to not have to double purchase cosmetics,)
