Idk about any of you people, but Self Care seems, to me, like an incredible boost to not waste time.
Especially if you can't find another Survivor like IMMEDIATELY.

There's so many things that change this, if he's lost you, he's probably chasing someone else and they aren't on a gen, and you aren't healing so hands are still off.

additionally, losing a killer isn't the easiest thing in the world, if you manage to lose self care you did better than the killer or the killer chose a different target, that's not the fault of the survivors.

    Seriously… I am done here.

Wiki says healing one health state is 16 seconds (I think that's next update, but doesn't matter).

So 2 injured survivor side by side using SC will take 32 seconds and both are fully healed at the same time.

Or 2 injured survivor side by side, one is healing the other for 16 seconds to full health and they switch roles and the other one gets fully healed in 16 seconds. So they are both healed up after 32 seconds.

Can please someone else take over here?

This is like playing chess versus a pigeon.

Don't bother. I gave up arguing with him. This really leads nowhere.

Hes literally arguing that self care heals the same speed as one survivor healing another.

Just proves you don't read threads and just argues against me regardless of context.

Simply no. You are wrong, people explained it to you, but you don't want to listen.

Unequip SC, play solo queue and take the time it takes others to heal you from the moment the killer lost you, until you are healed. Including the time it takes to find another survivor.

It stands in no comparison to SC.

Self caring is still slower than healing from another player, don't bring other numbers and things into this when he specifically states that the two survivors are self caring individually, next to each other, you don't get to make your own rules when you interject into a conversation.

I'm not doing the calculations wrong at all, you specifically state two survivors healing side by side = 32 seconds, while also stating two survivors healing each other = 32 seconds.

How can they both be the same if self care is FIFTY PERCENT SLOWER THAN NORMAL HEALING SPEED. My maths is perfectly fine.

He's saying that two self care using survivors next to each other is 32 seconds of time for them to heal, added together, when he is actually wrong as he thinks self care heals at the same speed as normal healing (16 seconds on the new patch). When infact it's 24 seconds to self care on the new patch, so using HIS EXAMPLE it would be 24 seconds for each survivor, 24 x 2 = 48.

Good god, Self Care on new patch is 24 seconds, I'm not in any way shape or form saying it's 48 seconds, learn to read.

So why do you double 24 seconds TWICE?! if they are doing it INVIDUALLY, you Still do not seem to realise that lmao. Yes you are right it will take 48 seconds if the other person is WAITING for the other to heal.. jesus

    Good god.

I'm using the ORIGINAL example given, go ask him why he used this stupid example.

This is like playing chess versus a pigeon.

Self care heals at 50% of the speed of normal healing.
So, 100% of normal healing (on the new patch) is 16 seconds, 50% of 16 is 8, so HALF healing speed is 16+8 = 24 seconds to self care

Therefore two survivors healing next to each other individually = 48 seconds to heal, while healing each other would take 32 seconds.

and you say I can't do basic maths.

    48 seconds?
Is one waiting for the other one to finish using Self Care before using their own Self Care?

Deny what facts? You're not presenting any evidence for me to deny, yet more spiel for you to tout to act as if I'm biased "BUT UR DENYING MUH FACTS" without presenting any.

No problem. But please stop bothering us with your obvious bias, ok?

I think it's fairly evident I have no bias, this is called an opinion. I play rank one killer, I don't worry about self-care, how is that biased? lmfao.

You could just, not get juked and kill the injured survivor, LOL.

But since this eliminate the need to search for each other is waaaay more timeeffcient and more safe since the killer can only find and interrupt one instead of both and the chance of getting found is smaller, because you don't need to run around leaving bloodtrails and moaning in pain.

1 survivor is injured and gets healed by another person or at double the time by himself, right?

Well done, people heal each other, SOMETIMES. I'm not denying this, I asked for facts I'm denying, please continue...

2 survivor are injured and can either heal each other one after the other or heal each themself. Both taking the same amount of time, right?

Self care is actually 50% slower, so no, this is not a fact, you're just incorrect, other survivors healing you is 2x as fast as healing yourself, good try though.

But since this eliminate the need to search for each other is waaaay more timeeffcient and more safe since the killer can only find and interrupt one instead of both and the chance of getting found is smaller, because you don't need to run around leaving bloodtrails and moaning in pain.

Again, it takes twice as long to heal yourself with self care so no, it isn't exactly more time efficient as healing yourself stops you from doing a generator for twice as long as it would if another survivor were to heal you.

Therefore SC is a major factor for gen rush, since it is important for gen rush to spread out.

Self care is not at all a major factor lmfao, what are you talking about?

Your "solution" to SC is tunneling And the next solution for getting looped will be "don't tunnel".

If you hit a survivor and follow them, that is not tunneling, I've said multiple times I've never had an issue with tunneling, but you can continue to put words into my mouth if you'd like.

I think this is an entirely different scenario, one is making it harder, the other is completely prevent a part of the game, the caveat to a survivor blocking is you damage them, and then there are more injured people, you quite literally can't do anything to a killer blocking the basement.

Although I agree it's a different scenario, I've faced a couple of 4man SWF teams that take turns being hit, insta-healing each other (or healing normally after their supply ends), effectively preventing hooking any of them. One of those teams even took turns while saboing the hooks. They even know exactly where to crouch behind you so the hook prompt never appears.

As with any of the other annoyances of DBD, I had to suck it up and move on, after just getting a couple of hooks in those games.

Most of the time, I would consider blocking the basement stairs highly inefficient, but I already picture a couple of scenarios where it would completely make sense, as in playing versus a highly altruistic 4man SWF team.

I can understand what you're saying, but this is a thing that is happening in less than 5% of matches, and I think that's an acceptable number to have, personally. Sure it's frustrating as heck, but that's the good thing about this game, you can, if you want too, play like that.

We need a penalty for looping abuse then.

Like if a survive is running in circles for more than 10 seconds they get a 10% Movement speed debuff from getting Dizzy, and a 5% movement speed decrease for dropping a pallet. Both for ten seconds.

They are not gonna nerf survivors since they want to keep the majority happy, only killers. We already had multiple bloodlust nerfs one after the other. After which they promised to fix windows and pallets, but that didn't happen yet. cough sacrificial tree loop

Yea, you're right, they haven't been buffing killers and nerfing survivors for the past few months, not at all. LOL

2 - 4 DS isn’t common at all, the sheer fact that guys constantly lie about what you play against really shows you’re not about balancing the game but trying to make it easier for yourself.

And no, as much as you wish it did break the game self care is absolutely fine, it’s a perk I’ve never even considered being angry about when playing killer because I tend to kill the injured ones. Insta heals are much more of an issue that Selfcare ever will be.

Two simple things, DS is VERY common, I see multiple copies of DS literally every other game, believe it or not and I a lot of other player confirm that it is not just my personal bad luck.

No, it isn't at all, the perk is stupid, but it isn't all the common. I posted screenshots the other day and there was one DS in the 3 matches I played, 63 out of 64 perks weren't D-Strike, but yes, it's soooooo common. It's funny because someone touted the other day they only play against 4DS 4BNP teams all day, I asked him for a screenshot within the last month of this happening, guess what? He didn't post any.

I wish the Devs would keep showing stats, but they did away with that, for … some reason. cough

Lol, another person who needs their tin foil hat, yes the Devs are all scheming against killer mains and keep stats out of their mouths for fear of being caught! Ooooohhhhh spooooky.

And if you think that SC "is fine" , you really suck at mathematics.

What, I wanna smoke whatever you're on. Just because a lot of people use it doesn't make it a problem, I perform just fine in the entities realm without every worrying about someone getting away and self-caring because I'm ok at the game, you should try it!

Does pallet looping bother me? Nah, as a killer I know survivors need to survive, and they'll do what they need too, as much as killers would like to pretend they don't have a button to turn invisible at every corner.

Fake killers... good lord, it's almost as bad as the Console Vs PC elitists. I agree with a lot of your posts, a lot of "killers" fail to see their own failures and instead insist on blaming game mechanics or survivor toxicity for their failures.

The same trend follows through to survivors as well, calling killers "tunnelers" or "campers". Instead of realising that sprinting injured in front of a killer is a good way to get slapped upside the head, or that a single whiff of another survivor is reason to not leave the hook.

I personally don't condone camping or tunneling, sure I've done it before but it's a once a hundred match thing I'd do.

And it's the same for killers too, if a survivor is good at chasing and their flicking their little stick at you, or dumping their sack on the ground a couple of times and you play into it and tunnel them for the entirety of 5 generators then that isn't a survivor issue, or a game mechanics issue, that's a you issue.

Move on, learn from your mistakes, and when you die in 2 minutes, or you follow one guy for an entire match try and realise it probably isn't game mechanics and is instead the way that you're playing.

If you really are good at juking the killer, you WILL NEVER GET HIT. And that means that Self Care is a complete waste. If you expect getting hit, then you admit you are not good at juking the killer. You use self care because it compensates for you lacking this skill.

Are... are you high? There are some situations where you literally can't not take a hit,

    M1 Myers
    Hag Trap
    Hatchet Throw
    Wraith Speed Bump
    Slow Pallet Vaults
    Slow Window Vaults
    Falls From Heights
    GOOD KILLERS

MAYBE just MAYBE a survivor and a killer can be comparable skill wise, so while the killer might get the first hit the survivor manages to duke in the second half of the chase.

I don't get why killers bring "juking" up so often like survivors have a button to turn invisible or something, you act as if juking can be done at any and all obstacles in the game, it's ridiculous that so many pallet/healing/chase/looping conversations come down to some killer saying "juke" better, how about you chase better and not lose the loud, bleedings scratch mark leaving survivor?

I am not saying don't use it. I am saying don't pretend it's not OP.

It's not. When you use it you make a lot of noise and gives to the killer a clue of where are you at. Are you sick of that perk? Use Thanatophobia and Franklin's Desmise.

Read the main post. I can work around SC just fine as killer. I analysed it from a survivor's perspective and concluded that it supplements lack of survivor skill. Regardless of whether the killer is skilled enough to counter it it makes the game unfair. You have to face the killer not let your perks do it.

I swear it's like nobody can read anything longer than 2 lines.

I don't think it's a matter of not being skilled enough. There's been enough times that my teammates refused to heal me up that I'm tempted to make it part of my loadout. I normally don't, preferring to use that slot for something more beneficial such as We'll Make It, BT or UE.

Really, it's more of a Skilled Suvivor Perk imo. You have to be skilled enough to lose the Killer for enough time to use it, and it takes a long time to fully heal. Either that or you have to be skilled enough to lose the Killer, or provide a worse target, after an unhook to use it as well. n00b Survivors will mostly have it be a wasted slot since they'll never really be in a position to utilize it.

Overall, I'd rank it in with BBQ, NOED, etc etc. Each one is useful in specific circumstances, but they aren't active the entire match like Whispers for example. Definitely roughly the same in terms of power and usefulness. imo at least.

I know, right? You can't trust your mates, I'm always afraid they will do risky unhooks or some dumb actions. Exactly what you said.

I use it because it's way too often I get pulled of the hook, the killer is damaging another player and the one who unhooks me sprints to the other side of the map.

Keep the hatch and let it spawn closed. Survivors need to bring a key to open it or find one during the match.
If 3 survivors are dead, let a key spawn in a chest. If all chests have been looted, reset a random chest.

This would make keys more valuable, maps more valuable (mark position of chests and hatch once found) and coin offerings more valuable.

Altough a good idea, this wouldn't solve the problem of the hatch standoff.

Survivor has the choice to search the key and the hatch (2 steps) or finish the gens.
Killer has the choice to search the hatch, a chest and the gens.
I don´t think there would be any standoffs anymore, since survivors would have to find the hatch after getting the key.

Imo it doesn't change much from what we have now, it just adds an additional step for survivors, but after the key is found it's all back to the good ol' hatch standoff.

Then it´s just the survivor who wants to have a standoff.
If the survivor stays in a 24 meter radius around the hatch for 2 minutes, the entity gets angry and turns the hatch into a deathtrap. If the survivor tries to jump trough, he/she would instantly die or get stuck until the killer picks him/her up.

This idea has just turned into a "punish the survivor for wanting to survive". Why wouldn't the survivor hang around the hatch to hope the killer wanders off and tries to see if they're doing a gen or something.

    1. Killer doesn't know where the chests are, survivor would find it everytime.
    2. When a survivor finds the key, can they just hop out of the hatch, they would just stand there with the key, thus creating a hatch stand off.

Such anger and toxicity in this thread, it's incredible. Like @Tsulan Said, back on topic...

I don't think that changing the perspective, or limiting it, would be beneficial to the game as a whole. First of all, if they couldn't see directly behind them, and this was a known fact, any stealth killer would simply have to walk straight towards the back of a survivor on, say, a generator, ESPECIALLY if they were solo (in game, or specifically on that action). They would get grabbed or hit, end of story. In order to work against this, they would have to stop working on the generator, turn X degrees, look to what was previously directly behind them, then turn and get back on the generator. That's a bit much.

Also, there's a reason that proper stealth games implement cover systems, especially in first person games. Because it's hard to properly judge where your avatar is based solely on a first-person camera. Not impossible, mind you, but enough so that cover systems are generally worthwhile. I would also like to point out that many games that are played in first person shift TO third person while in cover, particularly while doing stealth. That way you can actually SEE what you're fighting/avoiding WHILE stealthing/fighting. Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided spring to mind.

As far as say, looping goes, the killer has a visual cue as to know where the survivor is, even if they lose line of sight (namely scratch marks, but also blood). The survivor doesn't, but they have an easier time keeping LOS in the first place, due to their different perspective. This is also important to remember that one is chasing, and the other is being chased. If the chased has no way of knowing properly where the chaser is, that's not a great situation. Also, it's ignoring the fact that, like with the generators at the start, you would have to turn your body in order to see them. It's just an inconvenience. A minor, unneeded annoyance.

And finally....Cameras like that, in video games, with limited viewing angles, restricted in the back, etc? Been done. Plenty of times. And every time, it's just annoying. Pointlessly annoying.

Completely agree, with a game like this it's absolutely necessary.

Except, I'm having a discussion with someone else, you interjected into the conversation and try to belittle me, and then cry when I reply back saying I'm derailing?

    You guys are odd sometimes.

Edit: and there you have it folks, he gets called out on his own derail BS and instantly goes into ignore mode like he didn't break the one rule he constantly talks about. Hypocrite.

Might wanna check your own screenshots. 1 DS in all 3.
But you still try to belittle me.

Why am i even bothering answering you. You´ll just find another excuse to feel superior.

Exactly, four matches, 1 DS. DS is annoying as heck but people still make it out like every survivor and their dog is running it.

I mean, you post one game, of a two kill freddy match, where all gens have been done and they're all farming in an attempt to downplay my match, you literally commented "Yawn". You're the one belittling sweetheart.

So T1 Myers is suddenly OP?
It´s not like you could look around or anything.

    Are... are you serious?
In a first person world, with zero terror radius, he would absolutely be OP. An addon where he can see through walls and know that a survivor can't do heck all about it because they can't see him coming.

jfc, how are you not getting that, knowing where you are, and you can't see him and he knows EXACTLY where you are, damn right he'd be pretty OP.

I think survivors should be first person and able to look around while performing actions.

No 360, but maybe 270. Being able to look over the shoulder. They could use this for a hardcore mode.

I think switching between first and third would be quite disorentating.

Where did I say anything about switching? Just first person camera. You can look around (still first person) up to a certain angle while doing a totem, chest, gen, etc.

Just like the camera in any flight simulator. You can freely move your head to look around, but don't do a 360.

Sorry, misread your comment, you mean like peeking left and right, I read it as coming into third person as you're doing actions, my apologies.

I still think this runs into the issue of certain things like, you're still staring at a generator most of the match, some generators are placed where looking left and right would be staring straight at a wall, which would prevent you seeing something like a T1 Myers coming, or the direction that a nurse is blinking.

And this is a bad thing?
The moments where this game shines the most (at least for me) are the jump scares when I get grabbed off the gen by Myers. Or when I run straight into him.
    Or Hag traps...

Yes, it's absolutely a bad thing. Imagine a world where everyone just plays T1 myers and you get grabbed off the generator every time because there's no counter, what a fun world.

I absolutely love the times I get grabbed off the gen because I wasn't paying attention, do I think I would love it if It happened 3 times a game and there was nothing I could do about it? God no.

  • Hey kids, we're back with another episode of "Killer mains say the darndest things".

You and your "ez win lulz" comments. So the answer is "I'm not that smart" then, huh? Though, since you brought it up(and are the only one who ever brings it up because apparently there's only so much room in that tiny little brain of yours) why shouldn't killers get a sweet taste of that ez win survivor life you've been enjoying for the past 2.5 years?

Except, I do pretty well as killer also, this is where your bias shows, clearly. "Hey, I think survivors have been having it easy, but I want to have it easy now, so I want all these op changes". Your comments aren't made to make the game balanced, you clearly just want that "sweet taste of ez" thus proving my point that the majority of killers on this forum just want an ez game, good job on proving the point I made.

Shockingly, you've finally said something worth reading "killer abilities aren't overpowered". Nope, because crappy gamers like yourself make sure killers will never, you know, feel like they're actually in the power role.

You're the one calling me stupid but this comment is literally you wanting killer abilities to be overpowered. OVERPOWERED, do you know what that means in an online game, you want it to be unbeatable. I'd like to argue this, I've never said this on the forums to someone before but I'm clearly just a better player than you sweetheart. I 3K pretty much every killer game, I'm anti hatch stand off and usually just give the other survivor it if I can, and guess what? I don't need to come here and beg for changes because I do ok.

You're right about one other thing, I can move on. From these forums at least. Again, someone asks a legit question and you and your squad of imbecilic douchebags show up and do nothing but insult and derail. Well, congrats this is one less toxic killer main the forums will have to deal with.

Down below is the original comment I made, it specifically states why I don't think first person would work, I didn't derail this thread you came in here insulting people, like you usually do, and then blame others.

I don't think people realise the only reason -this- game works is because of third person view for the survivors.

It wouldn't be very fun for a survivor if they couldn't see where the killer is when they're running in between certain objects, it would make stealth incredible useless, as the only way you can convincingly hide from something is if you can see it.

I wouldn't mind if they tried it, but I really don't think it would make the game better and would in fact make it unfun for the other side.

You and the mods who refuse to keep these forums properly moderated and the other whiny survivor main douchebags can all eat a juicy bag of dicks.

Except this is the fourth or fifth time you've gone into a thread I've commented on where you've personally attacked me for no reason other than we share a differing opinion.

As for "all the whiny survivors" there's literally 10 threads a day begging for killers to be buffed up the booty. Also play killer, so just someone wanting some balance, but as there's so many killer related beg threads you see me in there most often.

That's all we had time for today Kids, I hope you have a happy fun filled day, and don't forget, A Mori A Day Keeps The Entity At Bay.

Maybe the devs should have thought of that before having gens be the primary focus of survivor gameplay. If you don't think the POV system in this game is broken you're not just biased, you're being willfully dense. Not that I expect any less from the likes of you.

My bias stems from stems from a desire for a fun and tense game for both survivors and killers. Where does yours come from? The desire to be a twat 24/7? Trying to achieve some world record for being an obtuse douchebag? Or maybe you're just not very smart.

    Ooft, he's upset.
    I personally think it's more of a

"This is how the devs wanted the game to be, and it's a solid construct as YOURE STILL PLAYING IT". Are you forgetting every time you load this game up you're supporting the mere concept of this game?

If you're so upset and on edge about this feature THAT IS A CORE PART of this game, you can quite easily move on sweetheart, there's millions of other games out there.

The game isn't impossible because of the POV
The game isn't impossible because of SWF
The game isn't impossible because of Camping
The game isn't impossible because of Tunneling
The game isn't impossible if your totem gets broken
The game isn't impossible if you get mori'd within 1 minute

Just a few of the complaints that people would like to act make the game impossible, but are simply a case of the "Get Goods".

The whole point of a survivor is to survive, and juke when possible. If you can only see straight ahead you can't pick a good object to duck behind, you can't get off a gen when Mikey is in tier one, you can't dodge a nurse blinking at you, you can't dodge a huntress hatchet, you can't swing away from a rapid billy chainsaw.

The killer abilities aren't overpowered because they're semi counterable by POV, which makes them fun and engaging to go against when playing survivor.

Lets just take away all the survivor fun because hey, once again, you want the EZ PZ Win.

    Freaking whiners.

  • @ZombieGenesis said:
Someone asks a question, a valid question, in a serious manner and, shock and awe, the usual suspects come out with "LULZ kllurs wahnt ez 4k". Ignore them, they're so afraid that their ez survivor wins may be taken away from them that they do anything and everything to distract from actual constructive discussions.

I think the POV system in this game needs a huge overhaul. The killer POV is so limited and broken that it's become a valid and well-used strategy to actually turn and run into the killer to avoid getting hit. Survivors will crouch at a killer's feet to stymie him because the killer can't see them. At his feet. Why? Because the developers of this game are not good at their jobs.

The fact that survivors have third person mode gives them a tremendous advantage over killers. Which is ridiculous since killers are supposed to be stalking the survivors. This is made impossible by the fact that survivors can see behind them and around corners while doing things like working on gens. It gives survivors too much of a strategic advantage over killers. They can start working on a gen in a well-hidden place but still see around corners, downstairs, or through windows that they should not be able to. Survivors have more supernatural powers than the killer does.

That's not to say that putting survivors into the third person wouldn't require some major system reworks. I think maps could be more interesting/fun with generator placement; do you nestle into a spot that's well hidden but keeps your vision obscured or do you work on a gen in a spot that gives you a decent field of view but also puts you at jeopardy of being seen? These are decisions survivors don't have to make currently. Some perks and things may need to be adjusted as well and we may need to say goodbye to some things like 0 terror radius but it'd be worth it for a better POV system.

Unfortunately, the game may be so far developed with the idea of survivors with their god view and killers having blinders that there may be too many things that need to be tweaked at this point for such a change to take place. It's just something we may have to hope for with the inevitable DbD 2.

I don't think you realise how fun this game would be when survivors are staring at the inside of a generator for half the match, any of these devs would laugh at the prospect of putting survivors into first person because it just doesn't work, your bias is once again showing.

So you should actually create those threads in the Bug Reports section.

You also should check that section before telling me to create another post there.

So don't post it in two places, it isn't hard.

Every day I thank the Entity that none of you are devs.

The entire game would need to be changed and rebalanced for this to be possible. How would you avoid Michael's stalking? How could you avoid the Huntress' hatchets, the Nurse's blinks, chainsaw attacks, or the Doctor's shocks? How would you have any inkling where Freddy, Wraith or the crouched Pig are coming from? You would waste so many pallets, take so many wrong turns directly into the killer.

But that's what these killers want, they want an ez life because putting effort in to achieve a win is just too much hard work.

  • Let people use what they want, simple.

I think it could work, just keep the 3rd person view just don't let them look behind them. If they tested it we could all see how it works and you could still stealth it's just that it would be a little more difficult. It could also upgrade the killers mindgame potential around pallets. It would need lots of testing before actually making it into the game though.

I just don't think it would work, honestly.

You may be right about that but like I said it never hurts to try, and if it doesn't work then they could just abandon it. That's what the PTB is for.

The PTB isn't really for randomly testing new camera modes, I don't think.
