  • She’s pretty bugged atm anyways. Even when you hit a survivor(with your power), it’s not until you hit them a second time they start becoming infected.

  • iirc I think this has been fixed when the update comes out - sure it was in the PTB patch notes

  • You’re the very last person to leave the trial, and not getting hit/changing health states at all? It took me a good while to get this, only managed to get it recently.

i would very much like to know which one did they fix. I know they fixed one of the newest achievements…

It was the speed kills achievement not gaining progress iirc. (Sorry - only check periodically now)

For the trophy cripple them all you have to catch a total of 10 survivors with the bear trap and I’ve been doing the same thing over and over and it’s not counting towards any progress can you look into it

Just to confirm - when they’re trapped, are you picking the survivor up out of the trap? If you don’t - it doesn’t count towards the progress.

  • Bumping this seeing as one of the other achievement bugs got fixed today :)

They would not. This feature only grants prestige levels to characters that could have been prestiged, but weren't (e.g. If you were taking a break from the game at the time and didn't log in to prestige them before the update). Since you can't prestige at level 40, they are not eligible.

Peanits, sorry if this has been answered, but the special portraits, one of my survivors who didn’t have one when the prestige update was first implemented now has one - she’s P7, now P9 during PTB - is this intentional, and if so, what level should a killer/survivor be to gain portraits? Thanks in advance if you have an answer :)

Ok i didnt read all that but i caught a couple things that are off base that i will try to help explain.

    1. Before you unlocked it at level 30. Not only do I have to get to level 50 but they moved it from the 1st unlock to the 2nd unlock so NOW I have to get her to level 50 twice to unlock it.

This is not how it works, instead of unlocking teachables at 30,35 and 40 you now unlock all 3 teachable perks at level 1 on all characters when you prestige for the first time, level 2 for 2nd prestige, and level 3 for 3rd prestige.

Alternatively once you have the level 1 perk you can still unlock the 2nd and 3rd levels through indivudual bloodwebs instead of the prestige system. This is very convenient when new characters come out because instead of buildimg them from scratch if you have a bunch of prestige 3 characters you will immediately get their perks unlocked on the new character at the 3rd level.

    2. Even perks I bought in the shrine are gone #########. Don't even get any compensation for losing every perk I bought in the shrine?

You should not have lost anything you bought from the shrine, if you did you may need to submit a support ticket.

Perks from the shine will work as any other teachable they will be automatically unlocked at level 1 on all characters and can be leveled up through the bloodweb the same as always. You can also rebuy them multiple times to tier them up like the prestige system but it is expensive for shards (probably better off getting the character and prestiging up, but to each their own).

    3. but if I want to play the game on steam I have to start all over from the beginning. After 10 years you can't add progression carryover?

This is a valid complaint, looking at your previous posts i believe i saw your on xbox? I havent looked into this at all myself so i dont know if it works at all, but have you looked at going through the microsoft gaming service on pc, if you have gamepass it would be free to install and check out and since its attached to the same profile might work, no promises, i have no idea, but no extra cost to check it out if you have gamepass ultimate. You could also do this part as its own thread and see if other people have tried that.

I hope that helps clear things up a bit.

Pass the dutchie on the left hand side.

I’ve just moved to PC, moved from xbox. Thought I’d see if windows stuffs moved over as it may be attached, but it isn’t. Not too bummed out though - I like that I’ll be able to play on the PTB etc! Just a shame I gotta get all the DLCs and level everyone, thank god for the grind reduction!

My complaint about this whole situation isn't that David is now gay, it's that we was turned gay just to pander to LGBBQWHATEVER9++, the twitter implies

1º BHV admitting there were no BBQW chars in DBD.

2º BHV due to 1º decided to turn a character gay.

This whole situation wouldn't have disturbed me if this announcement never existed and we just had the lore, or if it just came out and said that David is gay it just had never came up, but having it completelly just worded as "ohh yeah we need more representation so we gay-beamed david" is just insulting for everybody and comes off as pandering.

Character progression is a thing, but this is not that and is in fact the opposite, randomly swapping a characters sexuality as if it were just a level you could pull because for you BHV it is, but irl it's not and the how the message inplies you just did is insulting.

Just a heads up that is sounds slightly homophobic and ignorant when you repeatedly and purposely can’t even just use LGBT+ - I realise there are more letters now, but you don’t have to use them all, just be respectful. 😊

Would you have been okay if it was just in the lore? I feel like part of the reason it was made as an announcement is that not everyone likes the lore, but I’m sure there are, as is clear from twitter and the forums, people who would want to know because they don’t want to play a gay character - some people are uncomfortable playing a fictional character gay or straight - go figure. Others will be excited and will make them curious about the tome lore.

as for turning a character gay - that isn’t what happened, and that’s been stated. Just because he had a girlfriend in the past, does not mean he was straight. Lol. Fun fact, myself, a lesbian, other lesbians, and other gay men - have dated the opposite sex because we either - weren’t fully accepting of ourselves / confused / ashamed / worried about safety or for many other reasons.

Some people never come out, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t gay. A lot of straight people don’t understand the confusion/fear of coming out, and what we may do to try and bury those feelings or how we come to terms with them - everyone is different and experiences things differently. Some of us come out really early, some people don’t.

I won’t go on, but for you to say it was done on a whim, or they just randomly swapped his sexuality is… well. Yeah.

I tried dude. Slugged 3 and one was injured but the 3 downed all crawled apart in tall grass on Red Forest. Just the way it goes I already had about 6+ tough games in a row before that so was questioning if this is fun anymore.

Even the games I got 3k in weren't all that fun either. Too stressful.

Hope I have a better time of it today.

You keep mentioning tall grass but survivors make noise when they’re downed. I also wonder how you know they all crawled so far away from each other if you didn’t know where they were?

Boil over is generally only an issue on indoor maps - hence why it’s getting nerfed. I get they used the offerings, but even after two slugs you couldn’t get one hook?

Maybe just chalk it up to a bad game. I know when I’ve had a few rough killer games and get a little frustrated I start to play a little worse and make mistakes I know I wouldn’t usually. That’s when I take a break, play some survivor or stop playing for the day. No game is worth getting tilted over.

The always do chapter reveals the same day as the ptb though.

Not always. They’ve had chapter reveals after PTB releases too.

  • Claude was my first main, perks were appealing - back when self care was actually decent. Then it was Kate for the longest time, and now Kate/Mikaela.

  • @TheArbiter said:

Weird that the patch notes aren't out yet. I'm wondering if it is going to be delayed.

I thought it was supposed to be tomorrow honestly. Was surprised when I went on twitch last night and Otz had his title as PTB tomorrow, and now today a lot of streamers are saying today too. As far as I was aware, chapter reveal trailer was today, and the PTB was tomorrow.

  • Not everyone, but people make out only SWFs do well against high MMR or strong killers that require good coordination, and that isn’t true. I play both sides a lot - I go against well-coordinated SWFs (I know this from watching the VODs of said TTVs that are in the lobby), who get outplayed due to becoming overconfident or just making too many mistakes. I’ve been rinsed by solo Q. On the flip as a 99% solo Q survivor (and when not, there’s my fiancée and I) - a lot of my games you see the other survivors are actually familiar with the map, coordinate well, work around perks… and it’d be interesting to see how many killers think we were on comms in a 4 person SWF.

just because it isn’t your experience, doesn’t mean everyone in solo Q doesn’t play well or isn’t cohesive within the team… but I guess it comes down to paying attention and being alert at all times, not just “how many gens are left”.

  • @RakimSockem said:

I've honestly been laughing at the outrage of Boil Over which has been a meme since it was added to the game. Like really, there are so few situations where you'll have to drop off a high place to hook someone. But you'd think this is the most toxic and OP perk in the game if you read the forums (when people aren't complaining about Dead Hard which also is just strong but not OP)

That’s the thing though - it says high place, but you can drop an inch off the ground and it grants 25% progress. You have to be SO careful on your mapping to a hook and you’re bashed about so much chances are you’ll hit that little tiny ledge when you’re at top of basement or wherever.

I’m guessing you don’t play much killer to know how little a distance boil over needs to count as a “drop”.

I already answered this two times :

    • I said no one deserves to be treated this way, including survivors
    • I said I am talking about the killer experience because I play killer the majority of my time but if you have something to share about the survivor experience you are welcome to do it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2764172#Comment_2764172

I said Victor was hungry because I was playing Twins. By the way in this game I did not tunneled only used Victor as bodyguard of the basement. But this strategy is already too much for them to handle and led to a mental breakdown when they wish cancer to strangers on the internet I guess.

Tunneling is fun because it means you are always chasing. I don’t want to play a gen patrolling simulator. I would rather have a game where I am chasing for 90% of the time and get only 1 kill than a game where I am chasing for 40% of the time patrolling 60% of the time and get 4k.

It seems that survivors that gen rush when a teamate is getting tunneled, wait for the whole end game collapse time at the gates for the killer to show up (I don’t ever show up, I break stuff instead) and then escape feel frustration and bitterness because they realize how boring it was to hold m1on a gen and not getting chased. DBD is about chasing / getting chase, so if you choose to hold m1 all game instead of saying hello to the killer it’s your choice, don’t unleash your frustration on the killer.

Your play style is, even if you don’t want to admit it, inflammatory in itself. Many survivors don’t like that play style - you tunnelling means you’re playing... well. Especially on one of the two strongest killers (nurse). It also means you could chase someone else if you’re camping - something you say you’re playing for. No, it doesn’t give them the right to say the things they are saying in endgame chat - but you’re adding fuel to the fire and not helping the situation. You’re using endgame perks which means you’d probably get a couple kills regardless - you could camp at the end if you needed to, probably secure more kills with NOED.

it’s also funny you say you don’t want to patrol gens, you don’t have to if you’re decent at finding and tracking survivors - if you aren’t, there’s enough aura reading perks to help you with that :)

finally, you seem to be “poking the bear” in the screenshots you’ve posted. You say it’s affecting your mental health, but you respond until they say something really derogatory? Just don’t engage, especially when you can gauge from the first message or two they aren’t being chill.

like others have said, don’t engage in the chat, close it and ignore it. It seems it isn’t serving any purpose, especially with the way you choose to play.

if you do want to keep it up, and not find different ways of playing, then report and move on. But don’t keep adding fuel to the fire.

  • @calem said:

This thread was brought to you by a survivor main

As someone who plays more survivor now (before it was 50/50 each side), I’ll say COH is a problem. Was playing earlier,

and happened to be against a legion… needless to say they struggled getting a 1k because we were able to mend and heal and do gens. They do need fixing so they aren’t as strong. You factor it in with multiple people using it - which there usually are, and it becomes a nightmare.

I did a killer ritual a few days ago, loaded into the game… 4 survivors running boons, all of them active, one was using all three, 2 using shadow step. Saboteur, breakout, BT, DH, flashlights. Thankfully by endgame they got greedy and three died after one had already been pushed out of the exit gate and I clutched a 3k (2 had been deactivated due to them running me into them, and the 3rd from one leaving). Before that I’d managed a couple of hooks, got rid of a few boons but once they were snuffed they were back up, everyone was healed instantly and I couldn’t do much. (And no, no NOED to help in endgame, or any other perk for late endgame pressure - just their cockiness lol).

  • @gendoss said:

I wonder if the narrative on the forums will ever change from killer's being oppressed. People like Otz and Scott Jund are finally admitting it because there is just so little evidence on the contrary.

EDIT: I realized that I probably made the title a bit misleading. I meant it as more "not as survivor sided as people make it out to be" than straight up killer sided.

I find this funny, especially when I see games where Otz plays against survivors, struggles to get a kill, sees all the DH, DS, BT, and boons, and says how balanced it is (sarcastically) - but no, we’ll then only cherry pick certain scenarios where he plays well and it seems balanced. Because he does main killer, and is efficient on killer, mainly - but a LOT of the time, if he isn’t tunnelling or camping he doesn’t get more than a 2K. And that’s the inherent issue. The game is not balanced when you have to run certain perks on a killer and have to adapt your play style to get kills, which he’s done since SBMM has come into play.

someone who has 8k hours, is a full time streamer and plays this game for a living, struggling to play his main role? Yeah, killers are definitely the more powerful role. And Scott? Not playing killer as much because? Because he’s miserable and frustrated that he isn’t as good now it’s full of sweat squads with SBMM and the win rates aren’t as high and dirty tactics have to come into play. Same as most streamers. You watch enough of them, there’s been a definite shift in attitude and enjoyment. Frustration, anger, streaming because they have to, not because they’re enjoying it so much. People switching to survivor because it’s easier and more fun than killer. But no, killer is definitely more balanced than originally thought…. Lol.

  • @TAG said:

Am I allowed to hold the opinion that Lightborn is both a bad perk and an unhealthily designed one? I think the only reason it isn't as obvious is that flashlights aren't very good in the first place, (IMO) and the perk does nothing if flashlights (or firecrackers or one of two specific perks) aren't in play. But when it becomes an option worth using, it completely neuters an entire item full-stop.

But perks survivors use can make killer powers useless… it goes both ways.

  • @GoshJosh said:

Glad to have just run into a lobby with this same fellow. Same name and character, amazing swift action to ban blatant cheaters by BHVR.

Unfortunately they get so many tickets from players reporting cheaters/hackers as well as tickets for reports that shouldn’t be filed in the first place, and that’s what takes longer to get bans on actual hackers.

i play on xbox, and got accused of cheating a couple if weeks ago - got reported to xbox and I assume, BHVR, I know this because I had messages from the other xbox player. Needless to say xbox didn’t so anything because I wasn’t hacking (I don’t even know you can on console). The reason? No one is good on hag. Lol.

anyway - today, I actually did face my first hacker, clipped it, and reported it. I thought it was a different survivor at first seeing them instantly get up in front of me - but it was obvious who it was as the game progressed… I’m not expecting immediate action/bans, just because of examples like above. People report for the sake of being salty and angry. People send tickers for non-issues. Until people can just move onto the next game and only report when they should be, rather than out of anger, it will take longer than it should.

Easiest: Clown. Many people think he's terrible but he has a chase power that is easy and effective to use, Bamboozle which helps out in chase even more, and decent map pressure with his 115% movement speed and Pop Goes The Weasel.

Most Fun: Demogorgon. I actually bought the Stranger Things chapter recently, and the first thing I did was play a Demo match with his three teachables. I got the adept on that first game. Demo is such a fun killer to play as, very balanced and with a cool power.

Surprisingly easy: Nurse was the last adept I got, I was dreading to play her as she is the "hardest" killer in the game. I had played her no more than ten matches by this point, and failed miserably in each one. However, as I reluctantly hopped in to play her, I actually played somewhat decent with her and got the adept 3rd try. She can be loads of fun if you know how to play her right. I'm thinking of switching to become a Nurse main now lmao.

Surprisingly hard: Leatherface/Bubba. I played 13 matches of him in a row before I got his adept. Not because I lost a lot, nope. Actually, I got a 4k in every. single. match. I didn't get the achievement until 13 tries because the emblem system decided to screw me over and give me 1 point less than what I needed to get a merciless victory. Frustrating stuff.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2562742#Comment_2562742

Not at all. Hours of effort for virtually no reward, but I am a perfectionist/completionism type of guy so the more achievements I have, the better I feel. I have 152 achievements unlocked out of 182 right now, just a little more to go.

that’s interesting to me. I don’t know why but 90% of killers when I was doing adepts I got first try, the one who gave me most trouble was Plague even though I was 4king every match. I even managed to get evil incarnate first try. Blew my mind that was easier than getting adept on plague, lol.

As a person who was a Legion main let me say almost no team can win if you use BBQ, Pop and almost any other two perks. But if you want specific advice for Legion Adept, use his power only until its maxed, it counts against you slightly. Make sure you milk every single hook you can out of the survivors that means play nice, then on death hook take out the best survivor first.

Pop, thana, discordance and a flex spot - I usually put PWYF but it’s whatever. Bbq is an interesting choice. Never really bothered with it since there’s always that one survivor who wants to be at the opposite end of the map to everyone else.

I have, allow me to copy and paste what I said in the comments

"Just to ease the minds of those who genuinely believe it. Plus, it never hurts to be more aware of the situation"

I want to be more aware of the situation and even if they aren't partnered with that company it's still Bhvr's models and I'm kinda curious on how that even happened. Whether Bhvr willingly gave them to that company or the license holders demanded it, I don't know, but it's interesting to hear. Fat chance we'd get an answer on that, but it's still worth a shot to ASK

No, I saw what you said in your previous comments.

it makes me wonder though, why you feel the need to question their involvement if you’ve seen the evidence. I appreciate you mentioning maybe others who possibly haven’t seen it, however, if anyone is aware, or curious, they’d have then been to that company’s site, will see the FAQ and see BHVR aren’t affiliated with them.

the forum was rampant over the weekend with theories and posts about it, but it seems people have researched and realised that the involvement wasn’t there. At least that was my takeaway from it… and I think now this has happened, it’ll die down and those who do see anything, will look or ask and will be told by those who know.

  • You do realise the company who have the NFTs have since released statements saying DBD aren’t involved with them? There’s an FAQ on their site now and it’s cleared pretty much everything up. They’ve said they have PC codes for the DLC, but that’s it. They have voice lines, but they won’t work in DBD. Anyway - it’s all there. You should watch Paulie Esther’s video on YT for all the info and then go look at said information. It’s all there and available.

  • @Yords said:

The reason people are putting it out for people to see is because BHVR won't do anything, even with reports. They are simply spreading the word and hoping that BHVR will take notice.

Although most of them do it so that BHVR will take notice, saw a video recently where one content creator said how funny it was going against hackers, and had a montage of them. I think that creates a dangerous perception and encourages hacking even more so.

No, when you DC as pinhead, it comes up with an error message - those who are in the match when it’s a BHVR error disconnect does not incur a penalty.

normal DC penalties are still on.

  • Also got adept, woth his perks equipped - but no achievo 😪

  • I played a game the night before as nurse - by no means great at her but managed to get each survivor hooked at least once, if not twice, and just missed killing one. Got a nice message at the end saying ggwp ❤️ It’s messages like that I really appreciate. And I will often do it too.

got curbed stomped by the best wraith I’ve seen in a while and told them it was nice to see someone playing wraith with such skill. I know there are many wraith players now, so it was even nicer the fact theu hadn’t BMed, tunnelled, etc. The only time they slugged is if they realise they’d only just hooked that person and let the other revive them.

I never run NOED on bubba or any other killer. If I didn’t play well enough throughout the game I’m not using a get of free jail card. I won’t camp, won’t tunnel, just play fair.

although it should be noted that if survivors are playing toxic and making the game miserable for other teammates etc, they usually die pretty quick and the others are free to go… if it’s all survivors - though this happens rarely, then there’s no mercy. Kill quickly and move onto the next.

I could’ve sworn I read you had to gain maximum mutation 3 times. Now I’m wondering if I read it wrong 😂

edit: just went back and re-read it. I think they worded it a bit jankily. You are right, that maybe they have reduced it to reaching it one time, but the way it’s worded is a bit weird, which is why I thought they’d reduced it by one.

Huh, that still seems pretty off. There was a pretty solid trend of having the majority of dailies achievable in a single game. I suppose you'll have to convince people to play Nemesis somehow (or cycle a new daily :P).

I think he just has a bit of a curve adapting to his power and when to use it, but once you do he’s pretty solid. 3 games still does feel a bit excessive - but Like you said, people will just cycle through if they don’t want to complete it. Personally, for how many games you have to play to achieve it, it should be a 45k reward rather than a 30k to incentivise players.

This is good news. I don't know how it slipped through the radar but I did an audible double-take. 🤣

It’s only being reduced by one game. However, doesn’t bother me as I main Nemmy for the most part now.

DS, flashlights and flashbangs are not 3 minutes. DS only works if you tunnel.

That’s not true though - if you hook the DS person, they get unhooked don’t heal or interact with anything, you in that time have already hooked someone else and find them again - they’re going to DS you. Not tunnelling, that’s their bad luck, or wanting to use DS to waste a few seconds. Same as those who bodyblock with BT when you’re actively trying to avoid the person who’s been unhooked.

what's funnier is that blast mine perk

so you can see where they went by the aura reading

Haha yes… see them hiding in a corner and you pop them, or you see their aura disappear into a locker. Lol.

Shamed for running Lightborn by a DH DS BT Survivor...

Lol I’m red rank and use lightborn all the time. It’s great against bully squads. Funny how quickly some of them DC once they realise they can’t get a blind… Or they’ll keep trying and are all sacrificed with 4, if not all 5 gens remaining.

Almost every Myers I've faced lately is running the Tombstone instakill. It's annoying to load into a match and get next to no BP's. I can't assume every one of these people are going for an achievement. No way to know that

If you’re getting next to no BPs that’s on you and your team. It takes a good while to get to T3 with that add on.

Funny that people call it a broken add on, clearly survivor mains or those who haven’t played Myers enough.

  • Doesn’t have to be about helping, but when someone above has stated last survivor alive has DCed rather than take the L and be killed is being petty.

Wow, I never knew the ban can go up to 24 hours! Does anyone know what the cap is?

Not 100% on the cap but I’m sure someone posted on here that they couldn’t play for 7 days.

To the OP: as for getting DCed 1-3 times a DAY, if that’s been an ongoing thing - you should see what’s up with your connection that’s causing that rather than letting it continue… do the basics like resetting router etc before trying more technical things…because even if BHVR decide to overturn the dc penalty for you, it’s going to be an ongoing issue if your connection is that bad. There’s plenty of things you can do before you call your SP.

Yes, there were few times I saw 3rd survivor just keep standing at Gate, while the 4th injured one crouch near the hatch waiting for him to leave to get the hatch. And that 3rd guy just escape at the very last moment.

I had to blame that guy in post chat, if he wanted to help, just go back into the trial, find the 4th guy and lead him out. Its pointless just to wait at gate.

Leaving is Survivor's choice, they dont need Killer to push them out

Sometimes the person “sitting on hatch” is taking the hatch because the exit gates aren’t an option. Too close to be monitored by the killer.

sometimes the survivor is injured and wouldn’t be able to wait for their exhaustion perk to be able to get them out, or risk not being seen in the short time they may have.

sometimes, the survivors in the exit gate are too concerned teabagging to give a crap about making sure they take a hit so that said survivor can make it out the exit as your expectations believe they should.

Maybe think about why they’re grabbing hatch other than it’s for “extra” points. Sometimes, they just have no other choice. Sometimes, it’s for a challenge. Oh - and finally - none of your business how someone chooses to play a game? Just like if people want to BM at the exit gates, right? 🥱

funny how this community is toxic not only against the role they play against, but also towards the role they’re in a “team” with… go figure 🙂

Your right in wat your saying, but it seems we all forget that we all just looking for some fun in life. If your a good skilled killer and see that your not facing a swf team and can easily catch all survivors, then why not play them a litlle have some fun with them or make them work hard for it....a good killer dictates the game. and could end it when he or she wants. No need to end it when in the prosces people dc or just quit playing. If you only play like your really playing a tournament for life or dead....come on, allready enough ######### going on in the world, no need to end your game with knowing that you made the day of 4 other players worse. We all know there is toxic gameplay, and thats not gonna change, i'm fine with that, as long as i dont get punished for it.

And i dont totally agree with your killer playing his rol correctly and efficiently.....your playing a game with other players, that your good and show your skills is fine....but the how is what mathers, there is a difference between a game where gens pop faster then the speed of light and the games where i'm in...putting on map pressure is not whiping out a team without a gen being done.

So when you’re having a good match against a killer who’s struggling, you let them down you quickly? Stop repairing gens? Let them hook you? Or is this just a one way thing?

the entitlement you have from your posts in here - that you expect every killer to act the same, to let you gain BP, to finish objectives, etc, just won’t happen. You can die in a game and still gain pips. You just have to play smart. I’m guessing you haven’t been playing all that long or you’d have a little more understanding and not be so tunnel vision.

yes, some games do suck, we’ve all had plenty of them where survivors DC, die on first hook, or the killer is so sweaty they slug at 5 gens… etc etc. And when it’s 3/4 games in a row, it gets disheartening. If you’re really having that much of an issue or finding it that miserable, start playing killer. I think that would actually give you some perspective, especially once you rank up and see the majority of games aren’t nice and survivors do not want to let you gain pips 😉

perhaps take on board what others are saying rather than having your opinion and being so stubborn. It’ll just create more frustration on your end and further destroy any enjoyment you get from the game. Once you accept there are gonna be crappy matches, but can move on, you’ll find the game more enjoyable. Focus on the positives rather than the negatives… and if you can’t, maybe move on to something else 🤷‍♀️
