Someone said this earlier so I'm going to use it. Why do killers need to get merciless for the adept?

So basically you're using a fallacy? Since you can't prove a point you move the discussion into a different direction?

What is unfair remains unfair. It's like saying moris are unfair and you say "And keys are fine?" no one talked about keys, the topic owuld be moris.

  • @Waldbeere said:

I think it's a pretty good decision that the killers will get it without any problems. Think what will happen, if he needs an amount of kills. The matches will end with camping, tunneling and moris. Now a killer has the possibility to be nice to other players. I like the idea. Spread more love and humanity in this game ♥️. Additionally killer gameplay is stressful enough ✌️.

They already do it. I just had a match where the killer decided to camp and tunnel me just because I have found a crown.

  • First of all, don't derail the thread. OP is asking something and you clearly are derailing it.

Second, no. If they do a happy pride outfit, you will need to purchase it. LGBT are not a merchandise, that's what some people can't see.

Every company when says about pride or saying "look, we made a gay/lesbian character" then LGBT members buys it a lot saying "Oh WOW. Such an amazing comunity filled on love. I am going to support them. #lLoveislove" and NO, they are selling you. You're not a merchandise, if you're proud to be gay, such as myself you know your value and that no one should treat gays as something they can sell or get profit for it.

Third. Being homophobe is like being aracnophobe, you can't force someone to like something that they dislike, that's being open minded, knowing that not everyone is going to agree with you and that's fine. Thing is, tons of LGBT members think that everyone should love them and when someone says he/she dislike then you say he/she is an homophobe and perhaps some mean things to them. Probably they will react bad, because you said some mean things to them and that doesn't help for them to open their minds.

  • Can we stop with the main stuff nonesense and do a constructive argument for once? Or are you going to call names about how entitled you are?

Pyramid Head is not that strong but, not being able to see where the cages are wouldn't be a "punishment" or a nerf, I mean when I send someone to cages I keep patrolling like normally, stop saying that OP is an entitled survivor main when actually it doesn't affect at all.

"It does give you map awareness" , no it doesn't, because you're not going to the cage area because tunneling is not efficient right? You don't receive a notification so you don't know at all if the caged survivor has been rescued, unless you see the cage aura and proceed to tunnel indeed.

"But you will know where the survivor are going to go", no because tons of survivors are selfish so you won't know at all if they are going to be there or not.

"Bro, the cages spawns at the other side of the map, tunneling recquires to waste tons of time" , that's wrong, there where times in the new map where I spawned in the stairs and pyramid head appears like less than five seconds later. Besides... What's kind of point is that? It's like answering to a post who says "camping is not fun", and you say" camping is not rewarding in BP gain and you will depip"... So? What's the point you're trying to make? That's derailing the thread.

  • Matchmaking is bad but you're the one who decide how you want to play. It's pretty easy to know if a player i new to the game.

Sure, but its still a part of the game and remember you need to have "successful" chases to get the points to rank up meaning that if you keep losing chases very fast the amount of points you get wont be enough to even keep your rank.

Chases are part of the game, loops and windows are as well. Now, a survivor being able to run the killer for 5 mins it's not fine.

You only lose ten points and a pallet stun already give you 50 points. That without counting that you get a proximity value in th emblem so perhaps you won't be able to win an iridiscent emblem but sure you can get enough of an emblem to pip.

Really too bad. I play daily and I never see legacy anymore. Idk what the point of legacy ever was if it's so rare it's practically non existent. Especially after the embarrassing bug that caused so many to lose theirs.

Legacy was a reward when prestige characters was way harder.

  • Well, I think the game is supposed to make the killer the power role, so standing a chase like forever is not the original intention of the game.

Ds is an s tier perk that if anything needs a nerf. You could go in a locker an if you have inner strength and possibly head on, for 60 seconds you are literally invincible. And to play around it you are wasting 60 seconds of your time if you are just waiting on their body. This would leave like 20 seconds on 2 gens if the other 2 survivors are on separate gens. And this assumes they get on the gen as soon as you start slugging. It is a low risk high reward perk. Either way it will waste the killers time or remove any map pressure they have.

LOL, if they have 60 seconds, sorry but you are tunneling indeed. With inner strength you spend 8 to 10 seconds in a locker, assuming they have head on you will need three seconds more 8+3 =11 so 60 - 11 = 49, meaning they still have 49 seconds left IF you decided to go after that survivor and down them then you tunneled.

Most of the time, DS has 20 seconds left or so if you suddenly find the same survivor. Thing is most killers "I went back to the hook place after him/her was unhooked, and I found and downed him/her but I didn't tunnel" and focusing on a single survivor, it's what called tunneling.

That being said, DS is not an anti-tunnel perk, the devs have stated that it will be useful against tunneling, not that the perk is mean to be an anti-tunnel perk.

  • No one can force you to stay although sometimes I have been able to save someone camping with NOED. And if you find the totem then great.

  • You can place rites of judgment next to gens/hook. The reason why it's not too long, it's because two elements can't coexist very well in the same place.

  • Well, I understand that at first I got very lost but actually, if you have played Silent Hill, then it's almost the same. I just have issues while I play killer since I don't get used to it and perhaps that is a big map. Also, Am I the only who noticed the double pallet on the tower?

  • Seems people talking about camping cages are forgetting that Pyramid Head can only send survivors to a cage if they are tormented. In order to avoid being tormented just don't walk into his trails. Easy!

  • @PGJSO said:

He is like a doctor if the shocks would injure you! (Imaging a huntress throwing the entire locker through the wall).

    P.S. Killer Main.

Nah, the doctor's shock is ranged. Besides, before Pyramid Head leaves the trails at 110%, he moves like Nurse for a while and if he fails, he is severaly punished from it.

  • Also, Pyramid Head destroying red ranks doesn't mean he's the strongest .Only shows the fact that those red ranks are relying too much in looping and they are in red ranks just because they know how to loop, not because they are good at the game.

  • Pyramid Head is balanced. If you run like crazy and try to loop him without looking at him... well, you're digging your own grave. He's not even that powerful, if you see a Trail while Pyramid Head follows you, then you run to another tile.

  • Well, first. I don't see how camping and mori mean they would change something about Lisa, I mean, camping and mori is used by tons of killers and it's a playstile (even if it's a not cool one).

And second yes, you're right about the Lisa skin being expensive. Now, to stay tonopic (I didn't bought her, by the way):

"It's just five dolars more than any cosmetic" It's not a cosmetic, it's a "entirely different character" (Behaviour words, not mines) so yes, you're paying five more dollars for a "different character", as different character one think different voice and model. Jesus, they could even make some unique animations for her.

Think about it, purchasing Lisa is more expensive than buying Pyramid Head and Cheryll by themselves and those two are two models, with 3 perks each one and two different backstories, so yes, they should at least use a different voice because when they said Lisa was coming, they had the license for her, so they could say "you can make Cheryll looks like Lisa" instead of "it's a entirely different character" when it just only looks like another character.

Second point, a person can complain if he/she purchases something. It's not ok to say "don't like it, don't buy it but don't come here crying", a person has the right to complain, specially if you're a costumer you can complain about the quality of the product you bought.

  • @twistedmonkey said:

Always remember licensed content can cost more due to profit sharing. Its also down to the licensee what they can and cannot do.

To give her another voice could be more expensive as its another character not just a skin which could mean a different deal made.

Skins are also an optional. If one doesn't like it you don't have to purchase it.

I didn't bought it but... remember what BHVR said "You can play as an entirely different character", Legion with Nea clothes is still legion... just saying.

They said it when the PTB started, that excuse would work if you are intending to buy X license, if they said a year or so ago "we are planning to get Lisa's license so you could play as her" and then along the way they couldn't do what they planned, then sure, that's ok BUT... they actually had Lisa when they told people about it.

  • @Eightball_uwu said:

He has two moris - his one with the barbed wire and metal wrapping around the survivor is his regular mori (offerings, devour hope, rancour ect) and a base kit mori, useable if a survivor is on their death hook and downed when affected by torment. this is much faster with a single strike to the survivors back

    Ohh, thank you!

Ask the devs. I actually can’t find the statement now, it was a while ago, I don’t even know exactly in which form (possibly a Q&A?)

even if it was not stated, we have chars with confirmed hetero relationships and we have many more chars without any mentions at all. With the tomes and actually news backstories they expand the lore even more and ever deeper. Not mentioning any non-heterosexual relationship at all would be creatively very restricting and also feel very unnatural.

It's not unnatural at all. The games until now have pretty much had most or every character in a heterosexual relationships and that's not weird.

  • Well. Personally, I dislike clown nor I am good with him. But here you have my tips:

Clown: His power is used more in loops, so try to throw the bottles where pallets might be so he will get a speed penalty forcing them to throw the pallet earlier or allow you to catch up on the survivor

Plague: Well, this killer is not bad for me If you started infecting a survivor, you either keep infecting him or if you see a chance hit them, as another users said don't be afraid in hit them or down them even if they are not broken, sometimes it's better that way.

If survivor doesn't want to clean... well, they will be at one shot all the match, it's like a free noed.

Remember: You don't need to fully charge the vomit in order to infect survivors nor down them, sometimes it's better infecting them bit by bit than failing a "big shot".

Freddy: Use the snares on places that you know survivors will run into, like closer to vaults or closer to a pallet. Placing a snare on a pallet, might not be the wisest of the uses.

  • But it happens, it's not that big, that's why it's hard to notice but it has a boost.

  • @Freesham said:

Saying that Huntress takes no skill is a pretty disingenuous thing to say.

He is just saying that on bad ping. Wich is partially right. Huntress take skill to aim, to know when to shoot and when to fake a shot. But bad ping makes easier to play her, and harder against her. The same goes with the windows hit, with a high ping you as a survivor could be 2 meters away but still get hit.

If you think she takes no skill then you haven’t played against good people, if you aren’t skilled then you’ll get destroyed.

@op, What about when my hatchets go through people? She feels extremely fair to play against imo.

OP is talking about bad ping issues mostly. And I agree, Huntress with bad ping is easier than Huntress with good ping. Since a Huntress with bad ping can throw a hatchet where a survivor was a moment ago and no where the same survivor is in real time.

I'm calling Elvangulley a troll. If you view their profile you'll see why.

And yeah, some people can be bullies but I don't think thats particularly an SWF problem, thats a player problem. Solo survivors can bully just as much, only difference is it could be a whole team of friends doing it to you - either that or you're extremely unlucky and get 4 solos who happen to be jerks.

Thing is, it depends on what you class as bullying. Flashlights maybe, but if you're not trying to prevent it like facing walls or baiting them out then you're welcoming them to do it. T-bagging can be pretty mean, especially after pallet slamming you and at the exit gate. Sabotaging hooks is pretty toxic too, but unless they're really coordinated no gens are getting done in that time, but its still annoying nonetheless. I can't think of anything else other than messages, but again it doesn't have to be a team of 4. 2 people can actually bully the killer pretty well too, so this "balance" won't actually do much and overall is such a bad idea. There are plenty of other ways to make both sides happy, and this one doesn't even do that.

Flashlight saves are hard to get and I don't think they are toxic specially having perks and that can be avoided, but fast clicking it's annoying. Or performing a fast action, like exiting lockers, it is toxic just to draw the killer attention, we need to say this game relies too much on sounds, trying to track a survivor while you hear a constantly blam, blam, blam it's difficult. And well, T-bag is indeed pretty mean, unless you're doing it as a survivor with a friendly ghostface just to troll around.

I know 4 solos can be annoying but, they lack of information between them, that's why a SWF is more of a problem. I play most survivor due to queue on PC, one time I got paired by 3 SWF and I was a solo (I never play as SWF because I have no friends LOL), the killer was a newbie nurse, if you looked at her, you would have notice it, she was bullied into oblivion for the three, in the meanwhile I did gens, at first I didn't know they were bullieng her and at the end I needed to escape from the match but didn't want them to escape thanks to me so I let nurse kill me. In the tally screen, she was rank 20 and the post chat "gg izi baby killer".I felt so annoyed at those people.

  • It's not a troll, it's a reality. Many people, like my brother got tired about bullies so he's not currently playing. People actually leave the game for it, the SWF that bully the killer is going to say "it's fun" and yes, it's fun for them but frustrating as killer. Not because you want 4K but because you want a chance to actually do something in the match.

    Ah I see.

I'm sure I did read this before, however I love coming up with theories and when I researched about the Erinyes I couldn't help but compare it to the Spirit.

    Thanks for showing me though!

You're welcome. I do like to read about supernatural stuff, I find it intriguing another cultures beliefs or what they used to believe. History as well.

So it was interesting to read this post.

  • Spirit is an "Onryō" wich is a Japanese vengeful spirit

In Japanese traditional beliefs and literature, onryō (怨霊, literally "vengeful spirit", sometimes rendered "wrathful spirit")[1] refers to a ghost (yūrei) believed to be capable of causing harm in the world of the living, injuring or killing enemies, or even causing natural disasters to exact vengeance to redress the wrongs it received while alive, then taking their spirits from their dying bodies.

i remember that the perk was always ment to be broken status effect. in the ptb at least. i dont know why ppl think the oblivious effect was intended

Because they said it two times and excuse me but broken and oblivious are such different states that it's hard to believe they confused it. And perhaps they made a mistake the first time, but making the same mistake twice in a short time it's hard to believe.

  • The idea is nice. People playing with friends is not the issue, the issue is bullying the killer, meaning just trying to get on your nerves. Of course, with time you learn to ignore them but Do we need to ignore bad behaviour? No, I have been crushed by a SWF today, Am I angry? No, because they weren't bullies and played very well. In the end I said gg and then said well played back. But when someone is a bully with you... this is a game but you shouldn't be bullied.

And yes, tons of people will tell me "you need to grow a tick skin, it happens in tons of games and DbD is not an exception" but that's not the way it should be. It shouldn't happend at all, not in the real life and not in a game either.

  • Well, I don't think this one is so unpopular

Adrenaline is not fine, yes. Playing as solo might be good, but as SWF you know when it will become active and at difference from most perks it has no downside and two effects (No Mither as an example has two effects but a downside as well).

Sprint Burst needs its effect to be shorter, I mean seriously? Sprinting in real life lasting three seconds? Or at least make it so the speed gain is not that much, like 3 seconds where you go at 130% wich is still faster than killers but you won't get that much of an advantage over him.

  • I do use self-care just because there are way tons of people who won't heal me.

I should run Med-kits instead you say? Franklin's Demise want to say hello to you.

And no, I don't run into a corner just to self-care, that's silly and lost tons of time.

Why are you self-caring instead of saving me? I am not that good to outsmart the killer, so we will probably end on the hook together, besides if the killer is camping you at least I will have another attempt. Although if I see you dangeriously close to the 2nd phase or the end of the second then sure, I'll run to you.

  • Legion might not have the "strongest" power, but most of the people don't know how to play Legion properly. Most of them stab you in Frenzy and choose to finish Frenzy, but that's not optimal since Legion has a 4 second stun.

Legion is my main and it's such an amazing killer in good hands, and terrific in great hands.

  • Lol, there are times when I end in 4K because I went to the bathroom and they want to farm with a cloaked wraith, since while standing still you're invisible they never were going to find me. They didn't even try to open the door nor clean a single totem.

  • It has many downsides.

A lot of people run self-care and even if you unhook them, they start self-caring for 0.5 secs, wich means the perk won't be active.

If you're chased the first then the perk use get reduced to one, if you're being camped or tunneled then you won't have any use of it. Since you only had two times to use it.

Even if you get unhooked, there is a small chance that you will run into the killer in less than 30 seconds. So if the killer downs you in less than 30 seconds, the perk becomes disabled.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

Perks like DS/BT/Unbreakable are meta because play styles like camping/tunneling/slugging are "meta". As long as those play styles persist as the go-to, those perks will continue to be top utilized regardless of how fun or cool other perks are.

    This.

There were matches were I didn't use DS or BT and no one did in the team and the killer instantly camp and tunnel since he wouldn't have any "punishment", right now the reason why some killers don't do that it's because they're afraid of the punishment (like DS 5 second stun).

  • I do believe that we don't need old insta- heals because they were extremelly powerful, specially on SWF but If we changed the time for the syringe from 16 to 8 seconds that wouldn't be broken. Would it?

Personally I love playing as Pig. I don't see her often, well, I don't see her at all wich makes me sad because she is not a bad killer, she does need a huge buff although.

I don't camp or tunnel with Pig because that's simply not effective, and since there are no many pigs, most of the people don't know how to play against her and underestimate the reverse bears traps wich causes them to die by it.

I do need to agree that if I receive a notification with someone failing a skill check in a jigsaw box like two or three times, I am going there. I don't know if that can be considered tunneling.

You guys know you can pick a fight with the killer right? Just go jump in his way a few times. If its going as badly as youre saying hes probably not going to kill you. And even if he does youll probably still pip. What it sounds like is youre more concerned about escaping than pipping. Which is perfectly fine and legit but thats not how pips work for a reason. Its tge same reason killers only safety or possibly even depip if they kill tge whole team to quickly.

Of course im not saying pipping system is perfect but it genuinely is to easy to rank up right now. Ive played against people in red ranks that legit should still be in yellow.

Actually, you don't get the chase indicator with a cloaked Wraith so, you can do totems, search chest and do gens but you will depip since there were no chases, and you have not altruistic possible scenario.

And going AFK with a cloaked wraith is more common than it seems. Not like "annoyingly common" but it is.

Also people who say "you agree"... I didn't know dead by daylight was a job application... I agreed to follow the devs rules, nothing else. If you want to make your own rules like "if you're being camped you shouldn't suicide" or stuff like that then go ahead but unless you are a dev you have no saying in how I should play the game.

  • In game chat it's such a pointless addition ... This is an horror game where you don't know what your teammates are going to do. What's the point in saying "Save me, I have DS so I can escape if only someone free me"? SWF already exist because tons of people asked for it and see how it breaks the game.
