  • They're the real victims, projecting their insecurities. Probably suffered (or still suffer) from horrible bullying so now they enjoy not being on the receiving end for once. Even some streamers do it obviously, you can tell they got bullied and lack any social skills apart from entertaining online - by bullying and making fun of other players. I don't know if you can really blame them for it, maybe they need help?

They're the same trolls leaving negative comments on a 30 minute video just 30 seconds after it has been released. How can you judge a 30 minute video after watching 30 seconds of it?

It's like they collect some immaginary online currency for being an ######### to other people. That's really how I feel about toxic people, like what other reason is there to be an #########? You know face to face those people would not dare to open their mouth but behind their keyboard, while being anonymous, the turn into the biggest #########. That's todays society and our future.

  • To all the players suggesting to "Just use Whispers" as the solution...

Whenever you feel upset because you get camped, slugged, lobby dodged, tunneled, sandbagged, farmed, trolled or when you constantly face Nurse, Spirit, PH or any other Killer you dislike:

    • just use basic cosmetics
    • just don't use items
    • just open your steam profile
    • just don't play with friends
    • just remove all your friends
    • just create a new account to reset playtime
    • just use Decisive Strike
    • just use Borrowed Time
    • just use Unbreakable
    • just use Adrenaline
    • just use Deliverance
    • just use Dead Hard
    • just use Bond
    • just use Iron Will
    • just don't get caught

    Or to put it simple:

Simply CONSTANTLY use EVERYTHING mentioned above just in case you ever come across a sitation where it would become useful! That is the simple solution to a broken situation! EASY!

Feels like this is how the majority of the playerbase and developers handle a problem: They look at it, find an ineffective bandaid fix and check it as "Solved"!

  • Killer perk:

    Rat trap

Allows the Killer to trap an exit gate. When a Survivor tries to open the trapped exit gate, a anticlockwise overcharge skill check will appear and put the Survivor immediately into dying state if they fail to hit the skill check. If the Survivor manages to hit the skill check, the trap gets disarmed, no one gets harmed and the Killer wasted a perk slot.

  • Fun fact:

Survivor is easy even if you don't know how to loop.

    well

i mean DBD's survivor is a team game.

if you got 4 potatoes teammate in LOL you lose.

    Same to dbd.

futhermore you don't need to escape to get pip.

so even you been killed by your teammate oftenly.

with the time pass you would still rank up to match with not potatoes teammate.

killer should not been punish because your team is suck.

Dbd is a 4v1 but that doesn't mean it's a team game. I copied this from the steam description:

    • Survive Together… Or Not - Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish. Your chance of survival will vary depending on whether you work together as a team or if you go at it alone. Will you be able to outwit the Killer and escape their Killing Ground?

...but I agree with you, Killers should not be punished simply because there were a few potatoes but unfortunately, that is exactly how the game is designed. The whole ranking system is designed in a way that punishes the players if their opponent performed poorly, which is pretty ridiculous.

I'll just give you one example. I came across a LoL player with 5000 games. He was Bronze 4, which at the time was only one rank above the very bottom. This guy has no business being put in matches any higher than Bronze 4 despite having multiple thousands of hours in the game.

Yes it's only one datapoint, but it illustrates the problem. Playtime cannot be used for matchmaking. Matchmaking is never going to be exact, but playtime just doesn't indicate anything useful about a player in that regard.

Experience should be considered when rating a players skill level but only to some point. Experience alone doesn't make you a good player and there are many streamers that prove this but an average player (skillwise) with 1000 hours in most cases will be better than an average player with 100 hours.

It doesn't matter if you have 2000 hours or 4000 hours but it matters a lot if you have 20 hours or 500 hours.

  • The hatch exists so that a Survivor that ends up getting matched with 3 potatoes can still escape without having to rely on their incompetent teammates.

The problem is that the devs didn't consider the players with too much freetime, those that have no problem UE / locker hopping for 2 hours to get it.

  • A few things to consider:

    • Regardless of the Killer and perks you use, it should take roughly 20-25 hours to get from Rank 20 to Rank 1 if you know the basics so in other words; you either reach Rank 1 or you don't and ironically prove that Spirit is not OP.
    • Pips do not represent skill or good performance of a match, they're handed out solely based on the quantity of actions you did rather than the actual quality of your gameplay.
    • If you don't record / stream your matches, your "experiment" will be useless.
  • If that's for real and those two Survivors were in the match for two hours constantly moving around to not attract the crows... Then they must be mentally handicapped - that's for sure.

Surely sucks to experience this but I kinda feel sorry for them and their lack of brain power to make rational decisions.

  • I'd rather put the Survivors in first person perspective! Imagine the jumpscares.

  • funny dude lul

Here's a pro tip that requires no skill at all: Repair gens & loop him

  • Would be interesting to know what they smoked when they came up with that!

Self Care isn't a bad or selfish perk. Those who say it takes too long or wastes a slot fail to realize that healing with someone else still takes time and you have to find the person. Or when they say you could just bring a med-kit... well, those have limits too.

Self Care actually requires just as long as when you get healed by someone. You need twice the time but only 1 player is busy, so in certain situations it's actually much better to Self Care so that the other player can do more important stuff such as Unhooking or healing a slugged Survivor.

Pretty annoying to hang on a hook watching the other Survivors healing each other up in a corner.

  • Unpopular opinion:

Casuals turn(ed) this game into an unbalanced piece of #########.

  • Where do you see these threads? Haven't seen such in a while and I generally only rarely see people complain about Pig so really not sure where you're coming from?

  • I always thought console Killers are more toxic because they're at a huge disadvantage? But anyway, tunneling is not toxic. If you consider tunneling to be toxic, you're also toxic for looping.

This Oneliner would make sense if

    a) You would know before that the Killer is Spirit

    b) Stridor would not be a thing

Other than that "Just use Iron Will" is not really a counter.

It still makes perfect sense. Iron Will is an allrounder perk, helpful against every Killer.

    If the Spirit uses Stridor, that means two things;

    • she wasted a perk slot in case no one uses Iron Will
    • she successfully countered a perk she assumed would be used

Either way, she had to sacrifice one perk slot to counter a survivor perk that may or may not even be used.

  • Just do bones, it literally requires 0 skill.

  • Where in this sentence:

"Toxic" SWF groups and how they "ruin" the game for the killer."

Does it say "All SWFs are toxic"?

Maybe try to understand what you're reading intestad of interpreting nonsense into it? No one says all SWF are toxic, it's about SWFs that ARE toxic.

  • Just camp / slug them.

  • 12 hours for a 3 minute challenge? That is solely because of your incompetence then.

It took me 3 matches to get it done and it surely could've been done in 2 or even just one match if I tried a bit harder.

  • I just wonder how so many people manage to get facecamped and tunneled at the same time.

But anyway, seeeee yaaa because your addiction won't allow you to stop playing DbD.

  • I don't think it's a PC exclusive. Survivors in general DC very often, typical crybabies.

you didn't address any of my other points and instead chose to nitpick one thing i said. incredible. really tells me a lot about you

What's there to address? You believe that Survivors are not in the power role anymore, that tells me more than enough about you. Git gud

  • The Dead by Daylight community is probably the only community in existence that actually supports ragequitters // is against DC punishment and that means something. It's also one of the most toxic communities, coincidence? I don't think so. Just toxic people being toxic.

  • If everyone would get banned for that stuff there wouldn't be any Survivors left lul.

..but seriously now, they don't even ban streamers when they flame people and start witch hunts live on stream so why would they bother when some random player insults another random player?

People do get banned from time to time but it requires A LOT. I know people that flame others almost every single match and they have never been banned over the past 4 years.

  • @Milo said:

Okay but also let's say it was implemented.

How would it work? Would it be random? Would it take most used perks per week - which then would result in probably the same perks being banned every 2 weeks -?

Nah I was more thinking about random perks.

Or as I see banning would be a bit too tough for most players, maybe more like the least popular perks of previous week get bonus bloodpoints when used. I don't really care how they do it but if BHVR thinks it would be good to give players a reason to change perks and bring some variety, it's their job to come up with some good ideas ;-)

  • Just do bones, it takes literally 0 skill.

the fact that you blame everything on survivors as if this forum isn't filled with a bunch of whiny baby killer mains is astonishing actually

You literally quoted me in a post where I didn't blame everything on Survivors but the Developers aswell?

The forum is filled with people that lack reading comprehension, mostly baby survivors - it's asonishing actually.

Love the baby killers that think survivors genrushing = sweaty try hard

    This is also true.

Love the baby Killers that complain about looping and gen rushing.

Love the baby Survivors that comlpain about camping and tunneling.

Problem is that all the baby Survivors complain about camping & tunneling while they loop and gen rush. Which I'm totally fine as long as they shut the ######### up. Damn hypocrites.

  • imagine thinking a single instadown hatches is OP.

  • Pretty sure they cheat because they're jealous of other players skill and frustrated because of their lack of skill/patience/dedication. Instead of taking responsibility and getting good at the game, they start to cheat as a temporary solution.

It's a bit like liposuction if you think about it, people that are too lazy to work out / go on a diet. We all know it's just a matter of time until they become bigger again, mainly because they never learned how to actually have a healthy lifestyle - which is the most important part when trying to stay in a good shape.

  • Nice to analyze the matches! Maybe even let the match play from different player perspectives.

It would also help when reporting players, which to me is the main reason why we need it.

The current "report feature" is an actual imposition, having to video-record a cheater, upload the video and then send the link to the devs, what the ######### is this? I think it's fair to say this is the worst report feature I've ever seen in a modern multiplayer game.

  • I'm very happy with BHVR, a dev studio that openly communicates with the community and always informs their playerbase about matchmaking updates, issues, plans and ideas.

They never disappoint when it comes to this, truly an inspiration for other dev studios that barely every communicate with their customers.

Well if you’re trolling low tier killers idk what else to tell you other than that’s pathetic.

You truly believed Survivors only played toxic when the Killer played toxic? You're either very naive or very stupid. In 4 years of Dead By Daylight I have not seen a single person claiming such a bullshit.

Check out OchiDo so you get an idea of toxic Survivors before you talk such nonsense again.

It’s a gamertag chill dude, and also:

•the devs create good killers but since Killers can’t get their precious 4K with them all the time they play spirit , nurse, and huntress

•Hmm when’s the last time these forums were filled with requests for a killer nerf? I haven’t seen any in a hot minute

•only time survivors troll the killer and be toxic is if the killer is toxic first like shaking their head no like if they’re good for no reason.

The content of your post is either irrelevant of total bullshit.

    • I never said there are no "good" Killers, I said there are only a few Killers that are viable in HIGH SKILL so naturally you'll see those more often.
    • Here an example: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/176646/huntress-next#latest
    • flat out lie of yours and I can tell that from first hand experience as a Survivor main that has trolled countless of low tier Killers for no reason other than looking good for my "friends"

^this. I´d also love to see a larger variety of Killers that can hold their ground on high level play. I´m pretty much always rank 1 with Myers, Trapper, Clown, Ghostface and Oni but I do feel in the minority here,

I would love to be able to play low tier Killers in high rank but the problem is, the outcome of the matches mostly relies on the (in)competence of the Survivors rather than your own playstyle & skill. And that makes it really frustrating sometimes, to the point where I just completly avoid playing certain Killers.

  • @Babyyy_Boyy said:

Yes call me a baby with 3K hours on the game that has not played against these killers for over a year.

...you're literally called baby boy so yes, I call you baby.

You can blame it on these things:

    • the Devs for creating so many unviable Killers for high skill matches
    • the Survivors for constantly asking for unjustified Killer nerfs
    • the toxic Survivors for trolling every low tier Killer they come across
  • No, I say the overall skill tier of console Killers is "potato" compared to the PC Killers.

That doesn't mean all console Killers are potatoes but surely most of them perform much worse with a controller compared to mouse & keyboard. Got that now?

  • Love the baby survivors that think a Killer trying to win = sweaty tryhard.

If you want easy games go play KYF against your buddies.

  • Console Survivors will for sure disable crossplay simply because beating console Killers is so much easier.

Just think about it, you have 4 players pools of different strength:

    PC Survivors -> normal players

    Console Survivors -> normal players

    PC Killers -> tryhards

    Console Killers -> potatoes

Now you let the Console Survivors decide if they want to face "tryhards & potatoes" or only the "potatoes".

What do you think will happen?

  • @LetsPlayTogether said:

Dont know where you play but i have still 1-2 min lobby times as survivor, which means there are much more killer players in relation to survivors. Whch means survivors would need a buff by your logic.

Your 1-2 min Survivor lobbies don't mean ######### when it comes to Killer / Survivor relation, you realize that right? It's the long queue times that indicate a surplus of players queueing that role.

  • This will get much worse over time. What Killers do you think will be played the most in high MMR matches? Prepare to face those Killers 24/7.

It's a common problem with skill based matchmaking, in high skill you will face the same opponents playing the same characters and builds all the time. You're top 1% of the playerbase so now you're stuck with the same 50 players in your area for the rest of your playtime. Have fun!

  • It's the new meta excuse ever since lagswitching isn't plausible anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Survivors themselves used VPN and then try to blame it on the Killer.

  • Lmfao just pathetic how far people go to get an advantage. Best part is that these players always claim that it's not competitive and "jUsT fOr FuN" but then you check the streams and see the sweaties tryhards that exist and they don't even realize it.

It's also 99% of the time Survivors doing it for some reason, ######### hypocrites.

  • I've DC'd maybe 10 times in over 2000 hours of playtime and whenever I DC'd, I was done with Dead By Daylight for several hours if not days.

So I agree with you; If people get so upset that they regularly DC only to get right into the next match a few minutes later, they really should take care of their addiction.

They're clearly not enojoying the game so why are they playing it?

  • What does this mean?

    Is he ded?

    Is he OP?

Oh wow, they nerfed him even further. I wonder what the ######### are these developers smoking to constantly come up with such poor quality updates.

  • @BillyMain77 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1525598#Comment_1525598

Whats even better is when a killer face camps the whole game and get gen rushed then an expericed swf team comes in and makes the save and everybody gets out in front of your face.

    Even better lol

Not sure what's better but both are classic "IN YA FACE!" moments.

Like when you face a sweaty slugger and you're last man standing and manage to heal them up mid-chase and it snowballs into a 4x escape because the Killer was too greedy for the 4k. I love situations where you're forced to play flawless or else everyone dies. They pressure me but when I succeed it's an incredible boost.

Yet otz did the noed camping combo for 8 hours and only lost to a 4 man stream snipe with maps and small game. So if this combo works that well even up there theres some variable that were missing and peanits confirmed they were looking at the noed bubba combo for that reason. Probably because your guaranteed at least a 2k with how camping is and noed being a instadown for free at the end. Which a 2k is a win in the devs eyes.

2k is not a win and has never been, it's what the devs consider "balanced match" and that's it. Even back in the days of Victory Cube it took more than 2 kills to pip. Now 2 kills by camping lead to a depip for sure so that's not a win - no matter how you twist it.

Is there a VOD of that available? When did he do that? And what were the win conditions?

BTW: Otzdavra has roughly 6000 hours in Dead By Daylight. I would assume most of his opponents are potatoes in comparision so surely he is able to end chases faster than the regular "facecamping NOED bubba". Let him try that against four 6k hours Survivor mains and see how it goes, I'm sure they won't go down that quick.

1 2 3 4 … 7
