This game will die for one simple reason: devs do not care for survivors. They only care about two things (as is evident by their last survey):

    1) what do streamers think? They bring in the money.

    2) do killers have a "long" (subjective) wait time.

Now that killer requires zero effort for 4k and streamers can punish swf, the devs don't care. At all.

We'll see how that works out for the streamers when they end up in 10 minute killer queues because solo queue survivors aren't around for them to stomp.

  • Yeah I don't think DBD has long left ngl unless a lot of things get changed and quickly.

Still a legion main, still going to run thana 👍

Then when Legion gets the Spirit & Freddy treatment.

  • Need the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game to come out soon.

  • Will happily be throwing every Legion game I have the misfortune of having. Definitely not playing against that killer again lol.

  • Just saw a clip the other day where a Nurse found and slugged everyone on Ormond in 45 seconds with Haunted Grounds. Every time I see a comment defending her I genuinely can't help but laugh. Nurse's time will coming eventually.

    Says the blight main

nurses and blights rejoice, they’ve risen a tier to SS+ tier

Yayyy. The two strongest killers get stronger. Can't wait.

  • I've gone against so many more Oni's lately because of this bug. Which is great because normally he's one of my favorites to go against. But this bug makes him more of a pain than usual.

  • Get rid of hook grabs and stop Bubba from being able to rev his chainsaw when he's near a hooked survivor for too long. There. Face camping is fixed.

Idk. I put Kindred on and have no problem with solo queue.

As long as the killer isn't hook camping/farming purely for the sake of ruining another individual's game AND my teammates are not collectively doing nothing while that is happening... I can find something to enjoy.

I've got a lot of gripes with DBD, but I take no bigger issue than a buzzkill killer and 2/3 teammates who don't know how (or simply refuse) to punish that behavior by slamming gens.

Edit: ...if this post was your roundabout way of asking for fun build recommendations:

Try: Balance, Smash Hit, Dead Hard, and Head On

With the goal of activating each perk at least once while in chase. Killer will lose his f'ing mind.

I run a variant of this build with Vigil instead of Head On quite often now, only because Head On is difficult to see value without Q&Q

Just tried this build. Shockingly enough the only perk I got value out of was Head On. Never in my life have I gotten a stun from Head On without Q&Q

    Will return after another attempt

  • Distortion, Lightwight, Fixated, and I would run Calm Spirit if they didn't add that downside of opening chests and cleansing slower. But we'll see. Probably Kindred or Dark Sense will take that last slot.

  • You answered your own question. Because solo queue in particular is suffering this update. Killers are getting stronger, which is fine but solo queue doesn't have any of the quality of life updates it needs. Which is just going to knock the solo experience down even further, which is tragic because it's already at the lowest possible tier when you compare it to SWF and killer. And camping actually hasn't been addressed at all. Bubba can still just camp you with no consequence at 5 gens. In fact, camping will reward killers even more because gens are slower. 5 seconds of BT isn't actually going to stop people from being tunneled.

The only thing I would argue that has helped with tunneling in the new update is Off the Record and maybe 15 second BT. But again if the killer is actually determined to tunnel, that's not gonna help.

Overall the changes in the new update are fine. But the solo queue experience continues to suffer.

I don't play to escape. I play my favourite perks and items / fun perks and aim for some small personal goals. Like cleansing all totems, using maps, resetting pallets, messing with hooks, bringing a key for the slim chance hatch spawns etc. It makes solo queue fun for me. If i don't escape for 5/10/15 times in a row i generally don't care anymore. I just switch up my loadout and have a blast. Same goes for when i'm playing killer tbh.

Same with me with the totems. If I can manage to cleanse all 5 totems It feels good. Sorry to the boon users.

  • This makes me miss low mmr survivor matches. Oh it won't be relaxing once you get nurse and legion every other game. So enjoy it while it lasts friend.

You know, I was actually thinking about solo-queue and self-care. In all honesty, if I play solo-queue, I'm still going to have to run self-care, like everyone else that plays solo-queue.

I guess when the developers see that solo-queue has a 0% escape rate, they'll buff self-care again. (If solo-queue is even left after this update).

I'm going into the mid-chapter with the expectation that I will not be escaping most of my games whatsoever. Just gonna focus on attempting fun builds and trying to have fun where I can. Despite BHVRs attempts to make solo queue as unfun as possible.

  • Why do some of y'all always act like survivor takes no skill...

Like does it not take skill to learn how to chain loops together and loop efficiently, as well as know when the killer is mindgaming and how to react to it (Not that there's much mindgaming when most killers just hold forward until bloodlust 3.)

Like if I compare how I played when I first started vs 3k+ hours later...I'd like to imagine I've gotten SOME skill.

  • That's the whole point.

Solo survivors are about to be the Skyrim villagers not smart enough to run indoors when the dragon inevitably attacks.

As a solo queue gamer I fully expect to not escape any of my games after the update ngl.

  • I just find it tragic that not only is Thana getting buffed, but the gens are ALSO getting slowed down on top of that. Games are going to be so long.

  • Well we had a nice break from Spirit at least. At least this means we'll get some variety ig.

  • This is literally what they're doing when they add streamer mode. You won't see the player's name, just the character's name. Example: "Claudette Morel"

But if you don't want killers to see TTV in ur name, why put it there? Why not do what most other PC players do and just say "Hex: Butts" or something completely unrelated to you.

  • Most survivors are lucky to get 15k a game depending on how the killer plays lol. I mean, Survivors have 2 objectives. Gens and totems. And most survivors only cleanse totems when they know there's a hex because that's most efficient.

I feel like ppl throw around the term gen rush as if survivors have anything else to do.

  • oh god that guy

I do wish there was something else that other people could actually see. Or at least some kind of detail on the Prestige icon that showed I had gotten to P3 before the update.

So basically what BHVR said in the anniversary stream, cool.

    Did they?

  • Legion has ALWAYS been boring. That's just a fact.

The only reason we're noticing it more now is because even more people have started playing them after the buffs. And we're going to be seeing more Legions after the next update.

The only thing that could possibly make Legion "fun" to play against is a complete rework.

Or at least make them tolerable by doing the bare minimum and removing the mending mechanic from their power & nerfing Thana.

Better question: do you think the portraits are good enough after what bhvr said about having a character to P3 before the update?

I think it's okay. I like the updated portraits (Hated the yellow glitter.) but I do wish there was something else that other people could actually see. Or at least some kind of detail on the Prestige icon that showed I had gotten to P3 before the update. (Besides just the extra Prestige levels.)

  • I finally did it. I got every survivor to Prestige 3. Was it worth it? No. Do I feel a sense of pride? No. Am I glad it's finally over? I guess. But I did it. Now begins the journey to get Claudette to Prestige 100. THE GRIND NEVER STOPS.

  • Bold of you to assume MMR will work well enough to keep us apart 😈

  • @Grigerbest said:

Due to my knowledge and expirience with all killers, here's my conclusion...

    1. Survivors love chases. They don't like other mechanics that some killers have (traps, range hits, blinks)
    2. Survivors love to play against M1 killers, insta down killers (aside from bubba), stealthy killers.

The most favorite killer to play against for survivors is: Ghost face. (Yes, it's not Myers guys).

The most HATED killer to play against for survivors is: Hag.

So why Ghost face? He's funny from survivor point of view, he's not very strong (basic M1), he's stealthy killer who can jumpscare for even more funny situations, he can teabag (sorry), and yeah. The match for survivors against ghost face is usually not that stressful.

So why Hag? She has "Anxiety" abylity, which is traps. She is the killer who constantly camping a hook (even within 35m away from, and yes, survivors don't like campers) hag has only 2 counterplayes, which she can counter with 1 perk and 1 addon, she's not a chase killer (for most survivors it's boring), she feels too cheap to be that strong (i'm not even kidding, you just placing traps and spamming "ctrl" or other button), and for last... She is the only killer, I have constant DC's from survivors in maybe 8 matches out of 10.

Hag would be OKAY to go against if she couldn't place traps around hooks.

  • Yeah as someone who occasionally plays killer on console, spins aren't that hard to deal with. Just stand still and let them spin into your hit.

  • Jeff Mains when one of their fav's perks is finally good: ☺️

    Killer mains: Nerf it 😈

    Jeff Mains: 😰

  • Distortion is fine please. My fav perk finally gets a buff (Which was much needed considering how many aura reading perks there are...) and I just knew someone would complain about it eventually. Plz let me live.

The perk was ok before, but it NEEDED a way to earn tokens back. With perks like Undying, Lethal, that Dredge locker perk, etc, your tokens would be devoured before the game was even halfway over. Idk this was just a necessary quality of life fix imo.

  • @ArchAbhor said:

You shouldnt be trying to get out of a match. Just ruins it for everyone else you’re playing it with. I personally dont mind legion.

i cant stand nurse and blight. After this patch blight will be more tolerable since he cant hold down a match with the typical blight build. Nurse is just busted as poo and im solo q with higher mmr so if its a nurse shes likely good but my teammates not so much.

A lot of bubba players play bubba like turds so hes kind up there too but a good bubba is ok to face.

i like messing with hag and trappers traps so those matches are usually fun unless they are planning on just camping a hook.

I also like stealing pokeheads box. Idk why but I find it amusing.

Wraith clown is a bit boring to face.

i actually am not a big fan of PH because if hes bad it just feels like im picking on someone trying to practice their m2 and if their good they’re oppressive. Half of the good ones like to hard tunnel too.

I like huntress because if she smokes me its impressive but if shes unable to its fun to mind game her.

"You shouldnt be trying to get out of a match. Just ruins it for everyone else you’re playing it with."

yeah yeah yeah yeah I've heard that one a lot. However, I'm not sitting in a 30 minute Legion match playing mending simulator. And after the Thana buffs and slower gens in the next update? Lol. Sorry to the ppl I'm playing with ig but I will be getting out of those matches ASAP.

Least: Legion, boring games that last forever

    Favourite: Sadako/Ghostface

I love Sadako because she’s spoopy and Ghostface because most of them are super chill, makes me laugh seeing them creeping round a corner.

As a Ghostface main I approve this message.

Because blight is the standard for what add ons SHOULD be. Useful, and strong. The speed add ons that people hate are fine. If you're playing against blight correctly. They arnt getting that hit basekit or speed. Adrenaline Vial is strong and has a fair trade off. Have good logic, or suffer.

You're not going to find anyone who is being realistic. That says alch ring and c33 are ok. In fact I keep making the argument that blight has surpassed nurse as best. Rather it's basekit to basekit. Or CURRENT add ons to CURRENT add ons...As far as hug tech. I'm not sure why people fight for it. Maybe it's because they haven't learned how to use his power at all areas yet.

As far as you feel you had a better chance against blight. I'm not sure what for blights your facing. But there's maybe 2 tiles that are safe against blight. Less depending on where those tiles are on the map. I'd argue nurse has more counter then blight does TBH

Nurse having more counter than Blight? Is this bait or

  • @Ayamir said:

This thread is supposed to be dead but I still don't understand the hug tech removal it is a fun mechanic for both sides and a risky one that can be easily avoided playing Blight with bump logic is a way better and efficient way to get downs but it gets really boring there are alot of tricks and techs to playing Blight that's why he's one of the most satisfying/fun killers to play in the whole game.

If you want to nerf Blight this is not the good way to do it you're just making him less fun to play as and to play against.

I am sure most people will agree that Blight needs some of his BS add-ons nerfed/reworked C33 is busted and braindead I have no idea why this add-on is still in the game basekit Blight is fine just need to nerf some of his add-ons.

Please BHVR listen to the players who play both sides and actually know what they're talking about there are no reasons to remove hug tech Blight will still be strong but just less fun to play as.

It's literally an unintended bug. Why should they keep it when it's not intended.

    @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2952576#Comment_2952576

Eh. The funny part is. People really think removing hug tech and reducing add ons will stop blight. Blight is much less impacted by add ons then nurse. Nurse without range is basically trickster. Strong chase power, no map presence. Blight with no add ons is capable of map presence, and getting the same exact hits he can with speed, or anything else. I rarely. If ever use hug tech. People are going to be in for a rude awakening. If they think blights will stop dunking on them

Fun fact, Blight is one of my favorite killers to go against. Unlike Nurse, I feel like I'm able to actually do stuff at loops other than hold w and pray. If the Blight has a better gaming chair oh well, I still find him fun. Get rid of his busted add-ons and the bug tech. Is he going to suddenly become F tier? No. Does anyone want him f tier? No.

When I'm in a chase with Blight, I have options. I can actually apply what I've learned in my over 3k hours of playing and Blight plays loops in an engaging way. Nurse takes everything you've learned about the game and throws it out the window. Taking what should be the most fun and engaging aspect of the game (The chases.) and making them a snoozefest.

Nurse and Blight shouldn't even be comparable because Blight is actually fun and engaging for both sides.

But my question for y'all is: If Blight is so good without add-ons or hug tech...why fight so hard to keep the add-ons and hug tech? Like yeah, Blight is clearly very good without those things. But I'm getting so many mixed messages in this thread.

"I don't even use hug tech. Only rarely. Blight doesn't need it." "Plz bhvr plz listen to us it's so fun and has a high skill ceiling it absolutely needs to stay."

  • @Impailer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2948551#Comment_2948551

Having the hug tech increases the blights skill ceiling, I don’t see why you would have a problem with rewarding skillful play that took extra time to learn. Unless, survivor main bias? Also, your gaslighting won’t work on me bud.

Buckle Up is still the most useless perk compared to WGLF.

I really wish that Keys had aura reading of the hatch by default. There have been a few games where I've found the key in a chest, but cannot find hatch and die to end game collapse. Keys are meant to show auras, so let that be basekit.

I honestly think keys need to get buffed in general. They changed the main issue which was the hatch mechanic, but I feel like I have no reason to run a key over other items.

"Actually I got a 4-man escape against Nurse, so she's actually fine." -the person with a nurse pfp. Who I totally do not think is biased at all. *wink*

To repeat what I said: That doesn't magically change what's wrong with nurse.

I could just as easily go into a game against a Pig, throw it, show she 4k'd and say "So, as you can see here this Pig just got a 4k. Clearly she needs nerfed." But knowing BHVR they'd actually nerf pig.

  • Ppl who refuse to acknowledge the problems with Nurse are kinda funny to me.

why should an average player be able to best a better player?

I mean, you don't have a problem when a killer is bested by better survivors, do you? I think it's fair that a worse player loses to a better player, that's why MMR system exists to sort them out.

Are they a better player, or are they just playing Nurse lol.
