You also have 2 gens of console playing the game as well on x box if you have game pass you can play it there
Also on PSPlus again, I believe.

There is a limit on SWF....A LIMIT OF 4 PLAYERS

For real, though, how was 4x Reassurance? I've only played vs a 3x myself, haha.

Yeah, if the killer is camping, you can get gens done and escape if the remaining team actually tries. If not, then it's every person for themselves 🤷
In solo queue, I'm always M1ing until I have a reason to leave the gen.
-
@My_Aespa said:
Idk why people haven't learned by now that if a killer is face camping and is not moving... they are literally giving you time to do gens. Stop giving the killer an opportunity for more kills. Camping's not gonna go away anytime soon so idk what you think these kinds of posts are gonna do now that they haven't done in the past few years.
OP deserves credit for M1'ing TWO!!! gens in that clip compared to his teammates' ZERO T_T

I actually use WoO in my builds, makes life so much easier cause it lets you know if you are running into a deadzone or not
Yeah, it's great.
Totally unrelated to this thread, but I'm starting to have a newfound respect for users that understand the game/can at least participate in intelligent conversation regarding various perks/mechanics/etc.
Seems to be a rare breed, these days.

One of the issues I had prior to the update is if I needed to wait before unhooking or if I had to do something before unhooking, which is what this perk has gifted me with as instead of hoping the survivor I am gonna unhook happens to have Kinship/camaraderie, my only issue is that I have to be in stick poking distance of a survivor to use the perk, my only hope is that it gets a distance increase or something
Yeah.
The trigger range is a bit lame, I agree.
I don't know how they'd be able to fix it without buffing 'drive by' plays (currently the perks best use, as alluded to in your post) out the wazoo, though.
Glad you're finding success with the perk, too.....it's far from bad, despite the narrative you'll see here.
Then again, people are still sleeping on WoO despite its absurd utility and pick rate.

This just isn't happening anywhere except in survivor hypotheticals.
All 3 of my last three survivor games were:
Freddy (fair match but weak killer)
Nurse (rip)
Plague (no tunneling or camping but still slaughtered us because excellent in chase)
I don't get these games 99% of the time, either.
Maybe we are just lucky.....99% of the time.

who said it's 2-4 minutes. If the killer wants to, you will stay in the game, as long as he wants to keep you there, if you refuse to play. A slugged survivor can be picked up. a picked up survivor doesn't bleed out, he can just release him if he struggles, let him run a bit and still look for you again. Basically by not doing your own objectives, you will waste your own time, if the killer decides not to allow you a free escape.
My bad!
I thought you meant that killers can waste an indefinite amount of survivor time on a whim in scenarios like this ('keep you there if you refuse to play'), which is a bannable offense.
As your future responses seem to rebuke my interpretation of these events, can you tell me what the intended point is and how it relates to the discussion of slugging for the 4k?

Probably best not to bring bannable offenses into a discussion about gameplay mechanics.
-
LOL - Forums have been hilarious this week!
Feel free to crawl towards the other survivor or throw yourself at the killer asap if you want the game to end faster.
If you want to get an attempt at hatch, feel free to stealth for 2-4 minutes.
Gotta be honest - I don't care about other people's time when I'm playing...I just play each match and move on to the next.
If the possibility of being hooked for 2 minutes or slugged for 4 or tunneled or...any other common game scenario is too difficult to deal with, there are lots of other games with more forgiving gameplay loops.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3162754#Comment_3162754
I'll tell you.
The way the MMR is calculated for killers you've never played before is baffling.
According to some sources, it's pegged just below your highest MMR killer. Others, it's your average MMR.
Yes.
On a killer you've never played before and likely don't have many perks or addons for yet.
So people go in, get clobbered and switch to a simpler strategy.
Killer still has agency and the ability to remove people from the game.
More changes are needed.

you guys are throwing the term "killer perk" around way too much. self-care is a killer perk, it wastes time in a way that mostly benefits the killer. bhvr's weird mettle of man change last patch was a killer perk because you couldn't do anything without losing it and the killer knew it.
reassurance is just a quirky situational perk.
Hi!
I see you are new here.
I'd really recommend looking at the various post histories of certain people in this thread before engaging.
Certain users are simply very biased, unknowledgeable, or a sad combination of the two.
You'll notice it is the same people complaining/saying the same things over and over upon a quick review of said histories.
Whenever a topic has an actual discussion/contains useful information, it will really stand out/pop off on the forums.

New Reassurance will still be good. I'm sure in a few weeks/months Otz will make a video about it and suddenly everyone will be all like "oh yeah man i knew it was secretly amazeballs this whole time bro"
I don't know in what universe this perk is not good. It's kinda like a survivor Deadlock of sorts, albeit it has a risky manual input. I genuinely can't wait to tinker with it.
I'm beginning to think that most people aren't as good/knowledgeable as they think they are at the game, particularly with regards to certain perks and solo play.

But I mean... Considering all of us in the SWF reported the Claud, wouldn't it be us against her word? We claim she gave us op vigil everywhere on the map (and it's very clear from a recording that there is vigil), she claims we were hacking exhaustion.
I sincerely hope that this encounter will only end in that person's ban.
Who knows?
The client certainly does not know who was cheating.
Hopefully one of guys filed a report.
This also makes me realize how easy it would be to 'set up' randoms to make them look like they're cheating.
-
I'd hope not, but BHVRs apparent inability to identify cheats in their own game without video evidence makes me paranoid about scenarios like this.

Kind Killers,
Please give up your double pips, your 2500 No One Escaped Bonus, and Chase/Hit/Hook points from survivor #4.
Worry not, for they may offset your loss by getting 7k from the Hatch!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd totally be down to ignore/not care about survivor #4 getting the hatch at all times if I was awarded any missing scoring events I could get from them any time that they do so...
If not, I'm not really about handing out freebies at my own expense, sorry.
Of course, if the last survivor wants to maximize everyone's time efficiency and walk into my swinging weapon to end the game, I will certainly respect their decision to make the most of their own personal time and end the game ASAP.
-
@cyniChris said:
It amazes me how most survivor mains are completely ignorant to the fact that the perk can be abused against non-campers.
Someone hides near the hook, pops Reassurance, goes back to their gen. The next person in chase runs to the hook, pops their Reassurance, and keeps going. There is no threat to the hooked survivor's life and the survivors not being chased can finish gens. The killer is not camping, but they're being punished for camping.
If you think scenarios like this won't happen, look no further than base kit BT and OTR - both intended as anti-tunnel measures, but both often used to body block for rescuers or other teammates. Remember how often old DS was used aggressively and had to be nerfed into the ground? Just because something is intended to be used one way doesn't mean it won't be used in other ways.
And this is without even taking into consideration the fact that it can be abused to hold a survivor hostage. Can't wait for the 3-man SWFs to run past the poor solo on hook just to keep them there.
Most people seem to be unaware of the usefulness of 'drive by' Reassurance in resetting pressure/setting up survivor plays.
You really need to lower your expectations here and save your keystrokes.

The DBD community is a great way to test my daily resilience to people telling me to self-terminate.

Depends from day to day. As killer, some days I've defeated competent and skilled 4-man swf, and others I have been scratching my head wondering how my killer managed to 0k against survivors with little to no perks (even now I cannot understand that battle).
As survivor, I survive probably just below 50% now, but that fluctuates lower at times, but in the vast majority of games where I do not survive, I'm normally in the last 2. Today, I managed to be the sole survivor twice in 4 games, with the other 2 dying 3rd and last.
I'm a better killer than survivor, but my game usually goes in line with what my team mates are like, so morale definitely affects my performance.
I've literally been run for ages by a perkless survivor that was just really good/knowledgeable.
-
Ah, trying to kill someone as fast as possible must mean they were toxic or that the killer is a tool!
I knew I was missing something....I just assumed it was because eliminating someone in a game where elimination is possible and the killer is outnumbered was just the best way for them to win.
Thank you, kind sage.

A lot of people have trouble accepting advice/changing opinions about perks/etc.
If you keep an open mind and have decent mechanical skill, you'll probably end up better than most.

I feel one of your numbers may have a slight bias, but you're still a good Demo Dog ;3

Solo que is always a wasteland. Maybe try finding some people to play with. It's not that hard of a concept. You want to have a good time playing survivor ? Find like minded people.
Solo que is not a good gauge for strength of a perk. They made a right decision on it. Especially from a balance perspective.
There isn't anything they can add that isn't game breaking. That would help BAD solo que team mates.
Solo is literally where I have 99% of my fun, if I may be honest.

A perk that makes all solos with it go to the hook and stop doing gens, and the killer wait at the hook to these survs to appear it’s a trash perk if only give you 30 secs at Hook. And it’s also a perk slot lose
Ugh.
Those dastardly solos!

Remove all survivor perks and make No Mither base-kit for survivors. Without unbreakable ofcourse.
Yeah - All these Sprint Burst topics are cluttering the front page.

@dictep said:
With the massive nerf now you’ll get all survs with this perk running to the hook to use it, so nobody doing gens, and giving the killer a new surv to chase for free, without needing to find him or moving to anywhere. Add to this you remove a perk slot to survs who use it, and it’s a very strong killer perk now
Classic Dictep!
Good one!
-
If someone is bodyblocking/the team is legit coordinated, tunnel them out of the game as fast as possible.
There's nothing wrong/bullying with bodyblocking....or removing the problem asap.
-
I'm currently using:
Self-Care/Botany Knowledge/Overcome/Bite The Bullet
It's a pretty fun/silly build.
-
Nice of the killer to throw the game with two survivors left (1 on hook).
It's the only explanation I can gather, as there's 1 gen left in the preceding picture.
Weird how such a scummy killer didn't camp that person out and somehow lost a gen on top of the kill.
Maybe I'm just not good enough to understand the game.
-
@Marigoria said:
Because you deserve it for running it. Sorry not sorry.
If I see someone self caring you're making it a 3v2 and I'd rather to let you die on first hook than have dead weight still around.
So many healing perks + medkits and you decide to run one that is basically a killer perk at this point. Your fault.
LOL
-
I'm using Self-Care/BK/Bite the Bullet/Overcome and doing great.
