  • But can I say that killing two of them is really good (doesn't matter how)

I've dealt with this for about a year (give or take)

  • Maybe at this point it would be best to make that change

they want to make perks as close to their t3 varient as possible while keeping t3 actually worth it so people dont feel like they have to get t3 to use the perk.

Right, but there are exceptions (like Discordance, and Surveillance) that are best at T1

  • Also can I point out the fact that this perks only strength in T3 is range of downing the survivor...

Like they could've added something more to crawl speed (5/10/15) seconds rather then all be 15 seconds...

Also could've done the same for crawl speed in general (10%/25%/50%) instead of all being 50%

Honestly I'd like to see more dynamic perk effects

My advice would be to show him videos on YouTube so he can get the idea of how the killer works.

Ironically I started a youtube channel.... But I don't talk over the gameplay so it's not good enough to say it'll help

Otz made videos for newer players and a good starting build for each killer (I think)

  • Spirit: STBFL, Corrupt, BBQ, Stridor

Doc: Discordance, Huntress Lullaby, TT, Whispers

    Legion: IF, Corrupt, BBQ, Whispers

    Hag, Nurse's, Corrupt, BBQ, Whispers

  • It's useless... just because I said it can be distracting doesn't mean I can't deal with it... plus it helps me out when I hook someone and BBQ shows a survivor on one

I used to play a little of wraith but not much spirit.

So go back and forth between the two and learn how Spirit plays VS. what you know know with Wraith

Also FYI their powers are different enough to warrant to learn timing and survivor actions (and reactions)

  • I have yet to purchase PH yet so my opinion isn't formed completely yet... but from what I've seen it's best to not see cages

Game sense is important to make a killer like PH work (and I'll most likely have a hard time learning cause I'm late to the party... as usual)

But I play a lot of Pig and it can be a distraction to see the Jigsaw Boxes on top of gens and whatever else is in my FOV

So it there a build I should look for or is it better to learn what to use?

  • Have you leveled them up at all?

  • To me... It's less stressful to play killer(s) that I know

rather then solo survivor and being hung to dry

Im not sure if this has been discussed in the past, but it probably has. I think it has alot of potential though and needs to be discussed .

What would you think if comms were proximity based? This could be something where when talking near the killer the killer could get a notification. It would be a way to actually balance comms and talking too much could be detrimental. There could be comm based perks, but that wouldn't be essential. Still though, think of all of the possibilities...further range, closer proximity for the killer to get notification, etc.. Use your imagination. Like i said though the perk idea wouldn't be essential. Most of the blow back I've heard about why this would be a bad idea is based around it being an easy way to bully the killer or other players. The simple solution to that would be an option to turn it off as survivor and play as is now if those problems occur when playing survivor. When playing as killer there could be just a simple notification when people are on comms and within a pre-determined proximity to you. This is something I think the devs would be able to work out to find the best balance. Then there would be no need to worry about bullying killer, as killer can already be bullied in the same ways using notifications and other interactions that are already in the game and the comms idea would add no new interactions outside of the notifications and how they are already in game.

Another knock against this idea is that "people would just play comms the same way they do now." which is a possibility I don't deny. If the game had no way of muting the mic when one was connected to the game system it would also solve this. So, if you are playing DBD and have your mic on, you would be subject to this, even if you were also using a third party comm software. People would essentially have to have a comm system not connected to the console or PC to get away with it and that would deter that type of thing. If using a 3rd party comm system, yes, they would have unlimited range, but the killer would still get a notification when near someone speaking into their mic. That wouldn't change, and there is a way to do that. It would be a little more powerful for survivors using current comms then the idea I'm posing, but that is already available and having a notification for killer WOULD add more balance anyway you look at it.

I just ask you to think about this, and please behaviour, do the same. The idea may need some tweaks, Im not suggesting it is perfect. There is a ton of potential for growth with this though... including: ideas for perks, ideas for killer types (adds a whole new dimension on how new killers could be designed and I have some great ideas here for licensed killers using this), more balance, more fun.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am sorry if it is long winded, but it is something I have been thinking about for a while and I wanted to hear what others thought about it. Please, I ask you, when playing as either killer or survivor, think of the possibilities of something like this and how it could add to the enjoyment of your game play while also thinking of possible applicable areas it could be used and post them to this thread. I would appreciate hearing all of your ideas. If you have problems that would occur with this, also post them. There are no bad discussions on this.

    So like a walkie talkie...

  • My Pig build is:

    Sloppy- longer healing times overall

Corrupt- so the first gen isn't done in my face or at least for the first minute (but will still have games in which a gen gets done while corrupt is active)

BBQ- extra BP, and aura reading to plan my next move

Whispers- To know where survivors are at the start and near the end of games

My Deathslinger builds isn't complete yet (I know he been out for a while but don't play him all that much)

Huntress Lullaby- gen regression and it's hilarious with 3-5 stacks and gen blowing up all over

Retribution- just cause I have nothing else

    Sloppy- (I think)

    STBFL- (I think)

  • And only a quarter of them are used... and half of them are "meta"

  • probably due to the size of the update... They combined 4.0.1 and 4.0.2

  • @Sadsnacks There are addons to make the wind up faster (I just can't remember what they're called)... But personally I go for the cooldown after the throw

And here comes my barricade of text

SS: I'll differ to you cause I don't play those two much

S: I don't have PH yet (LOL) and GF is reliable enough to me (mmy first ever game with him was a 4k)

A: I'm a Pig main so you don't need to worry about not playing her enough I (we) got you, as for Plague she can be hit or miss like Huntress or Deathslinger but terrifying if play good

B: Billy's by far one of my weaker killers, I don't have much XP on Oni to say much, Micky.... is just Micky, Wraith is held back by his own power

C: LF is inconsistent IMO, Spirit is one I'd have an issue with (but you stated that this is based off of your play so I digress)

D: Trapper is stuck in the past (Needs a "makeover" lol), Hag is another one that I shall digress on as well (I can play a mean Grandma), Nurse is okay IMO I miss some I hit some, Demo I don't have either so..... next, Doc is another one that I find enjoyable (But alas I shall digress), Legion.... Fair enough

My barricade's complete... Now I'm going to jump over it... Until Next Time

  • well it's not as easy as use perk and profit...

Whispers gives an auditory notification to point you in the right direction... but survivors have gotten used to it and Spine Chill does the same thing (generally speaking of course... Whispers lets you know that survivors are in the area but Spine Chill lets you know if the killer is looking at you within an area)

I tend to use it on Doc to let me know that I'm in the right area

I combine Whispers and Infectious Fright on Legion as a back up

If the Whisper says "No" then the survivor isn't in front of you "Yes" means that there's a survivor in the direction you are facing (but again the survivor may be on the move already so it's far from accurate)

  • I played 3-4 games (1 solo survivor, 3 killer) "Sorry guys I'm a Pig main"

My survivor game was me R13 and a R17, with two R19's... against a R1 killer (legion)

My killer (R3 now... god I hate myself) games were almost the same 1-2 double digit ranked survivors. But the last game was all red ranks (and a message saying that "he owned me the entire game" but he died so... IDK what the point was)

Anyway the point is they blew up MM to come up with whatever is next... Also the MM now is less focused on skill and more focused on connection

  • Finally someone who believes The Pig is upper tier... you have my respect

Also, may I ask your thoughts on how you came up with the order?

  • I play on console and found the forums to be useful...

I feel like the ppl here are accepting of all feedback or opinions

At this point everyone knows that this perk is run across almost everyone who either plays solo or in a group.

The perk is supposed to 'counter' tunneling, but sometimes it is used in aggresive way such as baiting a grab and stun, and I don't think it should award such playstyle.

Personally I think the perk is balanced in terms of countering the effect, but there are scenarios where I feel like the effect lasts too long, and you are sometimes forced to eat the stun.

So here are my suggestion to balancing it:

    Decisive Strike:

    • Now lasts 30/40/50 seconds
    • Does not activate when you get grabbed off a vault or locker
    • (optional) When in effect the survivor holds a piece of glass in his left hand

Thoughts? How would you tune the perk?

I like this but also add in the timer stops when in chase....

  • The debuff for having multiple survivors on a gen seems to have not been enough... How about greater chance for smaller skillchecks when 2 or more survivors are on a gen, failing a skillcheck regresses the gen by 10% and all survivors working on it flinch

Switch is underdog! More πŸ’° if you bet on us! πŸ˜„

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Not to mention the new Atari could potentially make a run into this... imagine all of the consoles (Xbox, PS, Nintendo, Sega, Atari...) we need them all

Crank up the war to epicness

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Sounds like fun. Im down. Me and @RaSavage42 could probably do work as survivors

I doubt it... I'm more of a decoy then an actual survivor

    @Buttercake said:

This idea is a pile of crap. Why isn't Switch part of 'console' wars? 😒

Cause most ppl have written off the Switch... BUT let's go a three way battle

  • Sure why not... Would it be a team of 5 (4 Survivors, 1 Killer) or just 5 players

  • Killer: Sloppy, TT, Gearhead, Enduring/Brutal Strength (Pig)

Survivor: Kindred, Bond/Empathy, BK, Streetwise (Feng Min)

  • The game has evolved in the 4 years it's been out, players are more skilled (in general) and have experience dealing with (most if not all) what the game offers

at this point it's up to the devs to take a harsher look at how they design and change their game

  • @Mookywolf said:

i like that better actually, thats pretty good. keep a bit of the game stall she had but still change her power quite a bit.

    Started with your idea

    :)

  • Survivor: Feng Min, The only survivor I have level 50

Killer: The Pig, I am a SAW fan, besides that I played her first

  • @Mookywolf said:

Pig - Amanda's Rule Set - the pig no longer has reverse bear traps, and jigsaw boxes are no longer on the map. instead, there are 6 traps around the map that act like special hooks. when a survivor is carried to this traps, the pig locks them in by shoving a metal into the survivor's chest. the only way for a survivor to be freed, is for another survivor to come by and grab the key from a jar of acid next to the trap. both survivors will be injured upon untrapping, however the trap will be rendered useless the rest of the match

i dunno, just something i came up with based on one of the traps from SAW 3. thought it would be interesting to kind of do a Pyramid Head thing. im sure theres a million problems with this idea but i wrote it for fun

An idea I have is to leave the boxes but have the saving survivor complete the box get the key and "unlock" the trapped survivor...

Have the boxes spawn next to the trap... The saving survivor is affected by deep wounds at the start but is unknown to The Pig

I have a ton of ideas for her...

  • I recorded a match on Hawkins Lab as Pig... Want me to try to send it to you?

  • I reread my comment and figured that would be the problem... I have had games where I'd get 2-3 hits before a down and it doesn't affect me as much...

But I guess that shows how versatile she can be

Disagree with point 2, but the rest is fine. You need that first down really quickly to apply pressure with the RBT.

I think you've misinterpreted what I was saying...

Only using ONE as soon as you can is what I was getting at

If you use any more you have less stall potential later on...

Some survivors have waited for all RBT's to be used then pop 3-4 gens within 15-20 seconds (give or take) of the last person removing their RBT

This actually gives me an idea to keep track of match times for my stat tracking in the future. (I'll probably wait until Crossplay, though.)

Oh really... I've been (trying in vein) tracking my games (To an extent) and recording them

I also started a Youtube channel to help (it's only gameplay right now)

I've wanted to gather stats to compare all different killers and builds and respective skill level (Not going by ranks but what happens from game to game)

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Over the last month ive been tracking my stats with different killers. Pig outperformed Freddy and Doc:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0L7A8JAGL4G6/20200629-113924.jpg

(Ignore the totals at the top the software is adding the averages together, the averages next to the killer are whats important).

Theres a few variables to consider like the average ranks of the survivors were slightly higher against pig so the survivors werent AS good and then theres the builds to consider (fred i was running end game build so nothing slowdown) but even with those things taken into consideration I think this highlights just how underrated she is. And I can tell you while actually playing the games I felt like she had a little more consistent control and I could make plays (like ambushing people i saw going for the unhook) I couldnt do with the others. Even just look at the average match length, hers is longer.

I did 15 games per killer and used the same buikds for that specific killer for all 15 games including add ons.

    So where is my copy...............

  • First @PigMainClaudette can you point out anything I say wrong (seeing that we have different playstyles)

    1) Trap the first survivor you down. Then don't worry about that survivor unless you see an opportunity or they get the trap off... Survivors will likely have another gen near competed as well

    2) Don't use all of your trap at the start use that one ^^^ then wait for a gen to be completed then trap the next survivor... don't be afraid to hit all survivors before the first down. That'll help you out even more in the early game

    3) DON'T CHASE AN ACTIVE TRAP... at all... but if you can get a hit/ down it's fine

    4) Be sure to use all yer trap before the last gen is started... EGC has taken her down hard

    5) Perk builds are also important use perks that cover some of her weakness

  • I recorded a game yesterday... 4k on Hawkins Lab

    But she's my main so........

I think she can be upper tier if played right (Yes, there's a right and a wrong way to play her)

  • I started my Youtube channel, But I'm still learning how to do everything... and it's harder seeing I play on console

  • It's a bad tactic that players use to secure a hook...

  • It's inconsistent at best

6m range is not big enough... of they made it 8m or 10m it would be so much better

but it works when you are carrying a survivor... getting the hook is more important then looking around for survivors around hooks

  • Well yes She can be a good killer... but suffers with early game pressure as in early chases, hits and hooks

Addons don't help that much either

  • So I got a microphone... one step closer to starting

  • Also my first ever kill was a RBT activation :)

  • I play a fair amount of Pig... on Xbox

  • Who's the principal?

Where's the rest of the students?

    Who teaching the other classes?

Please guys... My parents are threatening me with home school

    Are you accepting transfer students?

  • The devs would have to implement the new MMR system first so we can figure the time table for it then

I wouldn't mind being part of one if it could come together well.

I can't say for certain that it'll be an instant thing
