Pig is one of my favorites on both sides. Shes viable and fun. Who wouldn't suggest her?
Nice either way...
You would be surprised

It's because they will most likely be injured and in one of four spots, so easy kill.
Fair enough

Playing one side will help you get better at the other, but I'd recommend just playing and learn as you go. Its frustrating but you'll get the hang of it. And also here's some good killers to main-
Pig- she has stealth, slowdown, and anti loop in her power. You have to be strategic but overall shes a good killer.
Nurse- If youre ok with losing games for a long time to be able to 4k easily, play nurse. I'm a nurse main and I am so glad that i spent time learning her. Plus she's free, and is the best killer in the game.
Hag- Powerful and fun to play. Nothing else needs to be said.
Oni- Pretty easy and powerful.
Myers- Simple and fun.
Ghostface- Best stealth in the game.
Nice to see someone else suggest Pig

I don't understand people who go for trapped survivors. Its literally counterproductive.
I don't understand either...
But for the most part the survivors get the trap off on first or second box so It's not as efficient as I'd like
-
I will only tell you whom I play and why...
Pig: My main, she versatile... using her power right can stall the game for the win (but needs the right build to be consistent)
Spirit: My 1st backup, she's strong and has more variant on her power
Hag: My 2nd Backup, Her power is controlling an area and high snowball potential
Huntress: My 3rd Backup, When I feel confident or just want something different.
My builds for these killers are the same with a few backup perks
Sloppy or STBFL/ CI/ BBQ/ Whispers, Stridor, Bloodhound
-
I'd add in and say to play all the killers you have at least a few times... then pick a few of them and learn them
I do recommend playing the Pig (cause I main her and want more people to play her) cause she's an all around killer
-
I'll accept one or two then start the match (hitting and downing survivors... cause I've already found them)
-
I really do want to see Thana in action... before I reach for an opinion (lol)
Pop is still a really good perk... It takes more critical thinking and decision making ( they didn't change the regression so)
Other then me going through everything and saying that I want to wait and see.... I want to wait and see how these changes work... LOL

Seriously what good is an 8m increase to Cruel Limits when the fundamental idea behind the perk is flawed?
I don't think it's flawed... it was poorly implemented
I read in another thread a good buff for it would be to give it a Tinkerer type of effect...
Like when a gen is 70ish% done and the survivor lets go CL activates and the survivor is forced to leave the area a certain way for X seconds...
-
It's (in my opinion) more of when it happens rather then the act itself...
For example at the beginning of the match slugging is temporary pressure and the survivor on the ground is not in control of what happens after it... thus making the act Boring,,, (but my I add the Unbreakable exists for that reason.... I might slug off the bat to either bait the save or to waste Unbreakable as early as possible)
Another example is "slugging for the 4k" some killer players just can't seem to end the game without the 4k ( I have done this as well)
Also some survivor players get toxic when they escape by hatch throwing it in the killer players face that a survivor escape making that killer player try to get the 4k
It's a vicious cycle that will be in the game... cause it's online and multiplayer with a "winner" and a "loser"
-
Teabag at the exit gates...
But not like obnoxiously... I do it once then leave
Also point at the killer when I see them tunnel someone I saved (safely should I add)
-
Man I here I was going to use Technician in my survivor build
I mean I'm still going to use it but less then I planned
-
I do have fun... until the 2-3 hour mark then it starts to get to me and I find something else to play
-
I have received messages from players playing both DBD and Overwatch
I have been told the get COVID-19 twice so far (DBD player)
I have been told that I was the reason my team lost (Overwatch player)
Not much in COD though

"How long till you:"
Find the first survivor/ start first chase: WIthin the first 60 seconds of a game (assuming they aren't really doing gens at all during this time - some do totems+chests first) without fail so far without Corrupt Intervention. Within 20~30 seconds with CI unless they're a sweaty swf trying to wait it out then default back to 60 seconds.
"Get your first hit/ down/ hook"
Depends on the killer but if I have to M1 (Not chainsaw, huntress, plague etc) then usually within 5~10 seconds. The first down will vary extremely on what killer I'm using and sometimes how good of a looper I've encountered on what type of tileset. I would say the most it will ever take is 60 seconds after the first hit if they are pre-dropping pallets and playing well enough that I just go find a softer target to get my first hit on them instead. Also depends on how many gens went by - if I noted anyone else during that chase and their approximate locations on whether I hook the first guy immediately especially if I can abuse the 20s window slugging him will give me even if he has unbreakable.
"Have the first gen done"
As a killer the fastest gen pop I've personally experienced was about 25 seconds using toolboxes and PT but I've won plenty of matches with 9+ hooks with just 1 gen left so never bothers me. I rarely ever have 3 gens pop for me during the first chase unless I'm misplaying terribly and distracted.
As a survivor at most 85 seconds after match starts I will pop one gen unless I get first chase. It's entirely in god's hands in that case and my RNG of solo queue.
Then:
"Number of hits/ downs/ hooks/ gens complete"
Not sure about number of hits - once again it depends on killer I'm playing and whether they have insta downs or lethal powers etc.
I usually end games with 8~11 hooks if I win and about 4~7 if I lose. I play with the mindset that I want people to rescue and sit there healing one another since I usually play for more hooks if possible with the only reason to hover camp being I dragged the body towards two generators that are at 70%+ while the last one is 0%. I've occasionally seen people die on hook like that and then called a face camper while 1 guy immersed nearby, and they 2 man the far gen from 0->100% instead of running distraction to get the rescue.
"The build you used"
Differs by killer but I generally use Pop goes the Weasel then mess around outside of a few perks I determine to be "core" for certain killers. Spirit + Stridor, Oni/Plague with Infectious Fright, Meyers/Deathslinger + Monitor and Abuse, Blight + Tinkerer's, Wraith + Play with your Food, Huntress + Bitter Murmur etc. I used to use BBQ on everyone for bloodpoints but not as worried about it anymore
"Map played on"
Tend to do better on outdoor maps even Rotten Fields or Ormond over Hawkins or Lerys (Though more Hawkins... Meat Plant is fine for me). As a survivor any map is fine for me except Midwich... thinking again I don't really enjoy it with killer either although it's somewhat easy to play for certain killers
Cool... so would you mind doing something like this with some matches you play
but make it simpler If you need to record the match then watch it back or send it me here and I'll do it...
-
Thanks the simpler the better
Now I need to go though all the YT vids I did and get the stats myself

If we’re going for fastest matches w/o DCs:
Solo match, not sure if the other’s were SWF
Claudie, Megs, Yui... and I was Nea
Phantom Wraith match (possibly AFK)
2 perks: Shadowborn Predator
One was Tier 1 the other Tier 2.
Had add ons, but I didn’t really look at them.
Shroud of separation was offered.
AutoHaven: Wrecker’s Yard
First gen completed immediately, like 80 - 90sec
First 4 gens completed individually, super quick, like one right after another, almost at the same time. Had to have been about 2min or under, total.
3 of us did the 5th gen in like 45sec more.
So probs all 5 gens done in 3min or less.
3 of us escaped thru a manually opened gate, shortly after, followed by Yui. Not sure if she opened her own gate or not.
Match couldn’t have lasted longer than 4 1/2 - 5min.
I have no idea what all perks they had on.
I remember no one else took any items in except me, I had a brown med kit.
My build was InnerStrength, Empathy, SB, and We’ll Make It.
Billy
Again on Autohaven: Wrecker’s Yard
Bbq, Infectious, Discordance, Haunted Ground
No add ons
Dwight1 chainsawed from a cross-map sprint to the highlighted gen where Kate & Bald Dwight ran from. Chased Bald Dwight for a bit, possibly 20sec then downed him. Back to check Dwight1. Haunted Ground goes off (cleansed by the Nea). Instadown Kate as she’s picking up Dwight1. Down Dwight1. Hook Bald Dwight. Nea’s aura doesn’t show. Hook Kate. Hook Dwight1. All self terminate on hook. Nea gets the hatch not more than 25 sec later.
The whole match was possibly over in about 3min if that.
I was the Nea.
That's great but just the numbers is all I'm asking for
If you need to generalize the times I don't have an issue with it
-
I know right...But alas the devs have their hands full with other things
-
Also Survivor players can add in their own Version with:
Unhooks, Any healing, Time spent on Gens, Totems cleansed, Pallets used (maybe), Time spent being chased (in general)
Build used plus other Survivors build

Honestly, in my 2 years of playing this game, I've yet to see a survivor do a gen when their trap is active. Even when it's not, they just go to a box instantly. Myself I'll do a Gen until it activates, then I prioritze getting it off ASAP.
I have... multiple times

And I just realized I have over 1000 posts.... HAHAHAHAh

Why I didn't see your comment yesterday... Hi there! How are you doing? 🐷
It's great to see another main Pig. And actually in this thread seems that there are a few.
I tend to go unnoticed a lot...
HI THERE
-
OG Pig hoodie from SAW
-
I would rather see a camera zoom like M&A
While working on a gen the camera zooms in a bit and gain a repair bonus and easier skillchecks but lose it when you look away or get off the gen also gain the oblivious status effect for the first 10 or so seconds of gen repair
Limiting the survivors ability to look around would only cause more frustration between the player base
-
That was really well done... I like it
When's the next one?
-
Cool... I'll check it out
-
God damn.... that sucks

So now it's obviously not a me problem.
I also play on console... so there's that

Same
-
Did you make it?

It's a playstyle thing... Bad habits rule the world when players are playing killers they aren't familiar with or don't have perks they like
-

Who is it and why?
Pig..... As a Pig main I see all of the mistakes that other Pig players make and it's frustrating
Hag.... Seeing three traps on down around a hook
-
WHAT..... there's another Pig main out there.... HI
Yea her RBT's are extra pressure but only if timed right
The way I go about it is... My first RBT goes on as soon as possible
The second goes on either as soon as I get the next survivor down or After the first Gen is done
The third and forth go on when I find that I losing pressure or when I need more pressure
No camping or tunneling (for the most part) here

Then why not make Rule Set No. 2 better?

LOL.... thanks
-
I approve....
-
I agree with @PigMainClaudette She needs her addons to work for her
Maybe have the skillcheck addons make the check smaller (but I doubt it)
No Rule set No. 2 Basekit...
Have more Ambush addons (either crouching/uncrouching and Dash)
-
Being a low ranked survivor player myself
It's like I see all of the bad habit's both sides carry with them
-
Fair point... @RizeAki
-
I also think that gen affected by Ruin should still regress even after Ruin is cleansed
-
When players break their bad habits
-
I have this before
But the regression rate should be increased but not be the same as progression
That is the reason I don't kick gens much
I have yet to figure out how to articulate a change for regression rates
Plus I would like to see an additional effect on Brutal Strength
-
Oni
I had the game gifted when Legion dropped.... And then was gifted GF after
But then I did buy Plauge... with Auric Cells
And Deathslinger... with shards
-
I am guilty of that (challenge over trail)
But some challenges I can just play the match normally and still get the challenge done
-
Don't forget that negative scoring events
More so on the killers but still
The scoring system is uneven in the point allocations and forcing a longer match for points isn't fun anymore

It's common knowledge that a lot of people on these forums don't like Self-Care. That's fine. You do you.
What I'm doing today is just sharing why I use Self-Care on ALL of my builds that I have the perk available for, outside of custom games with friends.
I'm the type of survivor that likes to have two health states. I'm quieter when at full health, and I'm not immediately screwed if I make a mistake in a chase against a majority of the killer roster. I don't hate Iron Will, but a second health state feels more beneficial to me.
"BuT jUsT uSe InNeR sTrEnGtH oR a MeDkIt ThEn!" Sure, I could do that, or I can also go with a perk that has INFINITE USE, and isn't completely negated by a single perk that a killer is likely to bring after seeing at least two other items in the game. I don't like that Inner Strength is tied to totems, something I hunt fairly often to deal with NoED because you lot won't, and I hate that Med-kits can be dealt with Franklin's Demise entirely.
Both of those solutions also run off a limited resource, which again, I hate having. Yes even as a Pig main that has a limited number of my primary power.
Lately in my main build that I am running, I've also got Resilience, so having a perk like Self-Care that allows me to be at 99% healed, activating Resilience, and being at basically full health because I have eyes, ears and Spine Chill to tell me when the killer is near to pop my healing. Something I cannot do without comms is warn the other survivors of what I am doing. Extremely detrimental as a solo player.
There have also been a lot of times, again as a solo player, where I've had to scramble and ditch the person who just unhooked me because the killer is returning to the hook. No survivors then make contact with me for a solid while, so I'm left alone to heal myself. Even at red ranks. With a lot of survivors also caring about splitting up and "generator optimisation", you're then not always guaranteed to be nearby another survivor provided they also haven't removed themselves instantly.
One thing that everyone covers is the amount of time that Self-Care takes. It's literally the same time PER SURVIVOR as getting someone else to heal me base, and with Resilience it's even slightly faster for me to heal myself if we want to go there. Don't get me wrong though, I appreciate the healing if you're here and going to help me, but you have to actually be there to heal me.
Now something that is also rarely covered is that Self-Care in a split team can also rob the killer of some potential pressure. Let's say that they are a stealth killer, with A Nurse's Calling, and they see me Self-Caring or you healing me. They down me because I can't get away in time because I didn't notice them. If you're there too, they can just slug me and chase you meaning the killer has even more pressure with two of us now removed from doing generator work, where as if I get done by myself, then there is a chance they will leave me. Especially if there is the threat of Decisive Strike. No this will not come up very often, but it's still something that I have had happen to me on both sides. I know full well the risks of using Self-Care against a majority of killers, and I take measures to ensure my safety while I do so.
It's also surprisingly easy to get, especially since Claudette and Dwight are two of the best characters for a brand new player to start with, or at least those are the two that I recommend in a heartbeat. Claudette is base game, where as Nancy is locked behind a paywall of the Stranger Things DLC or Auric Cells, or the luck of the draw with the Shrine of Secrets. Med-kits are tied to the Bloodweb, and for anyone who knows about cycling them for specific perks/add-ons/items can tell you, "consistency" is not a word that the Entity knows.
I'm not here to convince anyone to switch to Self-Care as a healing option, or say that it is objectively the best. Just that this is the how and why of my use of the perk. I don't expect to make any friends by saying all of this and I don't care either way. I'm not an immersive P3 Blendette that hides in a corner all match to heal, since I now main Yui who's also my only prestiged character, but just an average player in red ranks who likes to have two health states and unrestricted perks where possible. I can't trust anyone as is, and usually have a mentality of "I can do it just fine myself" in a variety of things, not just in game.
Use whatever perks you want, but don't demean, harass or make insulting remarks to people who use perks you don't like. If you think less of them, keep it to yourself. Nobody asked and nobody cares if you do.
I'll see you all in the fog.
Again another well thought out post that I appreciate...
Plus I learned something with this... As a Pig main myself and as a low "skilled" survivor
-
Also the survivors don't have a new thing to do while the Blight is new and is something killer players have to learn... It happened to OhTofu
-
Almost always
Either hatch or an open door
-
Chasing one survivor for too long
Not trying new perks and builds (cause when I do... survivors fly through gens and I second guess myself skill wise)
Mindgameing myself a lot
Not playing all killers
Not playing enough survivor
