I understand it works like other game passes and it makes players to play the game as much as possible, but what does this leave for new players? Isn't it more logical to keep any/all game content to encourage new players to try the game out? Like maybe the Rifts can be permanently tied to the Tomes or with/without the fragments gained from challenges and the auric cells removed from the tiers. At the very least, you should be able to keep it if you payed for premium. If not, they should be added to the store, charms included. And not everyone has hours of free time to play the game daily.
Cosmetics will be available in the shop 6-12 months later.
What is so wrong with time exclusive cosmetics anyway?

The change needs to come with a white ward rework, if they keep it.
Why?
Because White Wards make you lose the item IF YOU DROP IT anyways.
So if you have an event item, and someone wants to grief- bing bong, your item is gone.
There is no way, if you are getting chased, that you are getting that item back. Unless you're with friends and ask them to pick it up for you.
How about use a brain and jump into a locker if you value an item more than playing that round... You already used a silly offering to save your items, thus you think you are going to die anyway, jump in the locker so the killer cannot hit you.

You know you could always just mention me with an @. instead of calling me a boosted survivor main and tell me why I'm wrong that way ;) But stealth should not be promoted in DbD, imo. If you wanted that kind of experience, single player horror games have that in droves.
Dang it, hoped you wouldnt read it! My great plan is now ruined thanks to you!
Honestly, I am on mobile right now, thus I couldnt be arsed to suffer through more than basic editing, thus went eith something more eye catching.
About stealth, dbd was advertised as such back in 2016, before it even released, as. Day 1 player I hunger for stealth, as I find juking and avoiding detection to be much more engaging and fun than looping. To each their own.
But one playstyle shouldnt be nullified because someone finds another one to be more "fun" for them, both should be viable.

Because the devs tried to make FOV a game factor instead of just giving everyone better FOV like every other game in existence, it's a neat idea but poorly executed imo and I truly believe it should be taken out of the game in favor of an actual setting
Disagree, as someone who loves good fov, the limited fov of killers is a balancing thing and it works nicely, it is also one of the least invasive small fovs that I have experienced (I still prefer the release version of killer's camera than what we have now).
Some boosted SWF survivor main complained in this topic that stealth a d hiding is boring, to which I say, eat a poop and go towards a light (in a virtual world, because sjw). People have fun in different ways. Stealth should be more promoted than what extremely boring meta we currently have.

I wanna know what drugs you're on to think Billy will be anywhere near as good as he once was after this. He's gutted hard and you're either insane or bad at the game to think otherwise
Never said "He will be as good as pre change", so you better give me the drugs you took instead.
All I said, he will still be fine and change was deserved/needed to put him in a place where mistakes are punished, similarly as how Nurse needed a cd between her blinks so they are not spammable.
Thats all. Length or speed of overheat may or may not require a change, havent played against good survs as him yet in ptb, but those who I versed not much has changed in how I play him. (dont use addons on live Billy nor on on ptb one, I play mostly addonless)

Add ons can be fun ways to change a killers ability and have different synergy with different perks. Hag and some of her add ons come to mind, plague has good add ons etc. I don't use them a lot of times either but I do like to switch it up at times and don't enjoy the meme add ons they are making recently. I'm sure they will but i'm hoping they don't rework spirit. She is the most fun killer to go against imo as it makes you think outside the box.
Most addons that see the daylight (are often used) are the ones that straight up buff the default power of the killer, they don't change up the gameplay, they just make it easier to achieve the same goals you would have to "work" for. Best examples of such was the instant saw billy or old and already nerfed spamtress, with virtually no windup time; there are many addons still in the game that make default power easier than they should be. How many times have you seen the No Blink nurse with her Iri addons? How many Hags with her traps that block paths but can't port to? How many...oh, wait... there are no powers that change the way you play killer for rest of the rooster, besides the Zzzzreddy.
There are also killers that are "addon dependent", such as Trapper. To be of any threat in reds, in most cases you need a bag for 1 more trap, otherwise being limited to a single one is SUCH A HUGE DOWNTIME, no other killer has such a massive downtime as Trapper with vanilla amount of traps. It is baffling why it wasn't buffed up to 2 yet.
About the spirit, she is unfun to go against and the only reason you have any kind of FUN against her is if you like gambling, as that what gameplay against her is. You gamble, there are no "mind games" that people seem to call "standing still". Even a braindead monkey can do that kind of "mind game". She needs her power to be either reworked into somewhat more engaging one for both sides or have much more information regarding the use of her power "mid chase" to be given to survivors and/or decreased tracking capabilities mid phasing (omnidirectional sounds for an example).
Spirit is literally the "I can't play the game but I still want to win and my 15$ headphones will guarantee it. Oh, to make it more interesting lets use addons, because "mind games" are hard to pull off".
-
Who cares about addons? Barely ever use them, unless using killers that quite frankly need them to have slightly better chances on reds and they barely ever are of higher quality than yellow.
If you need them to make a killer to be viable in reds, killer sucks balls and need to be buffed/tweaked.
If addons make killer broken, they need to be nerfed.
Billy was too strong for how little downsides he had. Cooldown/overheat is completely fine. Adapt, skill floor is a bit deeper now (bad players will do worse), nothing more has changed.
Cant wait for a spirit rework though, hate her as much as any forced in loot box mechanic in any game.
-
I just never go to the gates if that happens. Brutality is probably maxed out in 99,99(9...)% of my games if they manage to repair 5 gens.
I just either afk or farm last points of deviousness in case of me not having it maxed yet.
Not willing to let them get extra bp for escaping a chase.

He literally has the same concept but weaker.
Thats the issue with Freddy on one hand and Clown on the other hand.
Freddy needs more down sides to his power, in overall decreasw all aroundness of his power.
Clown needs small tweaks to make his chase potential to have less downtime and bottles have stronger effect. "He is underrated".
-
Have you heard of these two terms?
FUN
CHALLLENGE
No?
I can see that.
-
It was introduced back in 2016 to fight people cheating by editing the save file that was locally saved on your drive.
It was that easy.
Besides, they introduced another bp "bak" for Dev issued gifts and conpenstations.
The counter of the BP you see in the upper right corner is a sum of your normal, 1 milion bo limited account and the unlimited gift one.
You can have over a milion in a gift account and you will still be able to gain more as long as your limited one isnt capped at 1 mil right now. In case of your screen, you have 1 milion in your normal storage and 444,444 in the gift one, which equals to a sum of 1,444,444.
Also, as far as I know, if you start sending bp it first takes the bp from your normal storage then if you delete it, it takes from the gift one. This was done in case of receiving 50+ millions of bp, back in the day as compensation for lost saves, thus you wouldnt have to spend all sum before you could play again without losing on bp gain.
-
But they should also give a way to allow the entity to consume you on the struggle phase.
-
I just want more gore. Horror never works in multiplayer games anyway.
Also, some people find gore as "scary". My gf is such, she sees a simple cut with a knife in a movie and she covers her eyes due to blood and stuff. Mean while Im here eating some fast food and watching guy being ripped aparat and sitting himself and thinking "could use a bit more gore".
DBD for me is extremely... Low on any kind of bloody content, even call of duty has more gore than dbd... .

For most of these you'd have to play differently to get the most out of them:
Dying light: Even if the obsession has the survival instincts of a lemming you can't get them out of the game or you lose your perk(Normally this is an advantage to get rid of a weak link).
Sloppy: Killer dependent if it changes your play-style as if you;d want to use it on huntress for example you'd have to force out melee hits which isn't easy.
Nurse's calling: Killer dependent again but best used by going out of your way to damage everyone instead of going for downs immediately.
BBQ: Try playing billy/spirit with this and tell me it doesn't change how you play them.
Pop: Encourages you to kick in situations where kicking is normally useless such as survivors being nearby and overall makes you kick vastly more then normal.
Coulrophobia: Its run in anti healing build which for an obvious reason require you to change how you build/play.
Infectious: O come on this is the posterboy of rampage builds for Michael,Plague and, Oni and requires you to play differently(Aka 2+ man slugging) to max out its power.
NOED: It requires you to suck/Play against SWF gen rush squad but more relevantly its used nearly end game build to get.
Not only that, but all of these perks in some degree reward the killer for doing their objectives, mean while the survivor meta is all about fixing their mistakes and removing killer's progress for playing correctly. That is the main issue, not passive nature of perks.
-
It couldnt be swapped. Just look at the pieces and co parę them with other outfits in the game. Proportions are different. It is logical and fine, even though I prefer single pieces.
Legs are much higher waist than general clothes. Hoodie would cause so much clipping, it is not funny (I know generic red SWF premades would love it, as they enjoy everything that smells as rancid as the game balance around swf).
From DBD's technically standpoint, it is not possible to keep en seperate, just look at the abomination that feng's bunny is when not worn with the rest. Disgusting.
-
Kate's booty.
-
It cannot be mixed, due to different proportions of each body part on it. Pants go way higher than any other of her outfits, also misalignment of her hoodie without her body would be disgusting to see (beloved by SWF parties who are heartless anyway).
It is fine.
Skin actually looks really good and removes the biggest penalty Nea has, her ugly face.

No, i just deleted duplicate comments and left the rest on my profile, same as any other salty comment someone left on it.
I treat them as a trophy and my friends who dont play dbd ask me "what are you doing to those poor people who course the living hell out of you?" which also drops another perspective on how angry and toxic dbd community is.

I think you need to get over this. Some people like playing DS and just because you don't like it doesn't mean it NEEDS to be changed
It does need to be changed. Just because you love it doesnt mean it is fine. Your or mine emotional status towards ds has nothing to do with objective point of view on it and how it is treated and abused by players who know whats going on.
Keep your feelings away from speaking about balance.

DS is a waste of a perk as you can only use it once per trial
And so is adrenaline, corrupted intervention, deliverence, also medikit with syringes and styptics (especially old ones), Unbreakable, list goes on.
Guess what... They are freaking commonly used on reds, in SWF parties (deliverence not so much) and they are often considered meta.
DS needs to be nullified if someone else is hooked, they work on a gen or do any other active action or it is EGC, no ds should work there.

DS is an easily abuse able perk that was always in the survivors meta since its disgusting release.

Holy God damn, thats even more broken than it is now. Basically a big buff to the ds and we dont need the immunity buff but the anti tunnel buff.
Try again.
-
You need to think about EGC + deliverance or just general EGC time too.
Imho, during EGC no ds should work. Only during typical trial.

The bigger ping you have the better for you, mostly as the killer because hit is verified client side for some stupidly unknown reason that even first year elementary students cant understand.

I literally deal with this every fuking day, mornings, afternoon and nights.
Goood job devs, very fun challenges and very hard for huntresses hvang in mind she oowns this kind of addons, at level 4 of the tome agreed.
Also lol imagne calling the killer to suicide the second u see she has iri heads, not even playing for extra 203% points lol.
Who cares for the extra bp if it is extremely unfun game to play in?
Same goes for bonus bp against SWF as being auggested by so many.
About killing yourself on the first hook, if for some stupid reason they would introduce a penalty, people who did that would stop killing themselves asap but they would probably either afk or try to get hooked again so they can die on 2nd hook or wait through 2nd phase as soon as they reach struggle by trying to kobe 3 times asap.
-
@MusicNerd_TC said:
It's only really good at the start of the game, but when you start hooking people it's useless.
Not true. It is good at the start, Yes.
But it is also great as less survivors are in the game also allowing you to more easily patrol gens on bigger maps especially if your killer has weak map presence or is weak at finding hiding survivors.
-
13 FPS?
In menu?
Holy crap dude, what the hell are you running dbd on?
-
The only annoying killer to verse is spirit, because even a rotting corpse of a monkey can play her and easily 4k, due to how easy she is, if I would want to gamble, I would play some stupid Casino game or be a moron that buys cases in csgo.
-
@Rivyn said:
It really depends on the killer. I like to use it on my Pig, paired up with M&A. Since M&A shrinks her TR to 16m, and Whispers is almost twice that, I can save a lot of time running around, crouching only when it lights up.
On most killers, though, I find it a waste of a spot. I suppose it could work on Huntress, though.
I think you are typing from the past. Pig has 32 meter TR for ages. M&a powers it to 24 meters, not 16.
@anarchy753 said:
I personally don't like it, and I think a lot of the people that find it useful have just used it for so long that they're used to the information it gives so consider it more useful than it already is.
We have an array of perks nowadays that give much more precise and useful information with auras, gen highlights and everything else under the sun.
I'd take Discordance over Whipsers any day of the week.
Funny, as Discordance can be easily countered by doing gens in a faster, more efficient way, which is solo. It is still a great perk and I personally use disco over Whispers, but Whispers is actually superior tracking perk. Disco is more of an emergency alert that either tells you where 2+ survivors are right now and adjust accordingly. As I said, disco can never go into a play if survivors wont group up on gens, which is quite rare (mostly due to bonus b from coop), but if they split pressure you and hide well, Whispers is much superior.
-
Do I just suck at utilizing this perk? Or is it overrated for what it is?
Yes to the first point.
Whispers can work in 2 ways, either pin point the location of a survivor or to give you an idea whether waste your time in this part of the map or not.
Pinpointing requires you to visualize the circle of whispers (it is a terror radius of survivors), then by finding to edge/border points you can triangulate the exact position of the survivor.
Other way is it being a perk that tells you to not waste your time in this area of the map, as no one is there.
Meta shifted from hiding to just pure looping, thus Whispers isnt as strong as it was during immersed p3 Claudette times, but it is still one of the best tracking perks that cannot be cpuntered by survivors.
-
They need to balance it around rank 15 players, so they dont get confused as to why it works as intended instead of being bugged like the rest of the game.
-

Id like to counter with Inner strength even on max ranks take less time to do a complete full heal than SC does. Self Care takes 32 seconds 40 if sloppy. Max Rank IS takes 22 and 20 on lowest I believe.
Add in a need for locker, which may take you additional few seconds to get in also IS doesnt start as soon as you initiate the locker animation anymore, so another 2 or 3 seconds, then exit animations if you do it slowly.
SC can be done anywhere you want.
-
Rancor meta, lol?
Survivor, I barely ever use strictly meta perks anyway, so slightly adjusting the perks:
1) Autodidact, Solidarity, Empathy, Calm Spirit.
2) Lightweight, Quick&Quiet, Dance With Me, Bond
Killer, that strictly depends on the killer itself, but general build:
Thrilling Tremors (it is meta btw), Brutal Strength, Surge, Survilence.
Discordance, Surge, Survilence, Thrilling.
-
@Erk said:
He probably has surveillance. Its a bug with the perk
Dont worry, as all bugs that improve the gameplay and balance, this one will also be "fixed".
-
Killer:
1 or 2 kills is a loss.
3k and 1 escape through gates is a tie.
4k or 3k and a hatch escape is a win.
Not getting 4 bbq stacks in any of these options is an instant loss.
Survivor:
Death without finishing my ritual or challenge is a loss, if I do finish them and die even with subpar score, it is a win.
Escaping is a win, but not finishing my main objectives (ritual or challenge) is a tie/loss.

Just don’t tunnel the person off hook then you won’t have to worry about ds and you won’t have to worry about slugging because of ds...then they can’t use unbreakable.
im pretty sure the devs have said that they are looking at ds so I suspect it will get a nerf at some point
Once you get out of green or purples and start playing against these decent ones that sometimes pop up on red ranks, you will understand how stupid your response is.
The ds user that has it active will try their best to make sure you actually do go for them, such as either trying to take the aggro, by unhooked hiding, they will take you on a ride that either ends with them being slugged or in a locker or they will repair a gen in your face knowing you cant do anything to their 60 seconds of political immunity backed by Unbreakable (lose lose scenario).
DS as anti tunnel is fine. 59 second ds after 2 other people were hooked in the meantime is completely bullcrap.
Not to mention chaining DS and BT during EGC.

I hate when survivors bring keys and flashlights...
Tf you're talking about
Jeez, in every post there's a crying surv
The hell are you on, drop it, as you are 24/7 affected by Oblivious status effect.
Not only you assume stuff out of your poopy hole (I'm not maining any side since late 2017), you also completely misunderstood the analogy. Way to go.
-
Seen a lot of people liking new map?
Sure, I saw a lot of people having a blast playing as solo survivor against iridescent head Huntress who also brought an ebony mori, and tunnels people off the hook, slugs all four survivors and moris them when they are about to bleed out.
New map looks great, however gameplay and overall map design layout wise is horrible and completely unfun to play on.
-
Both sides can abuse high ping. Dedicated servers didnt help at all, there is just another middle man who handles stuff that you cant see how laggy the game actually is.
Killers hits will have priority, thus you can be hit from 25 meters away by an m1. Also a survivor on whose screen your trap isnt set yet can easily run through, even though it is set on your screen.
Peer to peer was much better to avoid bullcrap on both sides, the issue was laggy killers being hosta (i.e. Any russian player hosting a game as a killer in European zone). But even then, if I saw 200 ping killer I knre how to handle stuff, now I get a server with 60 ping but the killer has 200 ping, in total there is 260 ping in play, because basically... NOTHING is handle serverside that actually matters the most for us.

Back in 2016, when nurse came out, I played as a nurse (addonless), I killed a 4 man premade, they were russians. It was one of mu last game that night and went to bed. Game wasnt anything special, just generic nurse match with a bit of slugging.
They posted over 100 comments on my steam profile over the course of the night. Most were short and matched the theme of "#########".
Trust me, people will go off their way to spread their salt, especially if they are group players, due to mob mentality and probably low Intelligence, they are more prone to doing that.
Ive got hundreds of comments on my steam profile from salty survivor mains.
It is really nothing special when it comes to online gaming.
-
For solo it is fine, could be tweaked so it is actually a double edged sword (obsession is always visible, even if not looking at the killer directly). Right now it is meh risk, high reward perk if you know what you are doing.
SWF however, it provides too much info and swf being SWF, it is completely broken.
SWF should have auras of killer, killer's belongings and entity placed things be disabled (just hatch aura tbh) , the only auras for swf that work should be seeing each others, so stuff like bond, kindred minus the killer's aura, etc.
-
@supersonic853 said:
Its a bug but it actually makes the perk good.
Yep, basically bug balances the perk in the way it should work in the first place.
Same as back in the day with lullaby, where it wouldnt show survivors that they are affected by any hexes to begin with, making skill checks more hectic without hud warning them. Observant survivors caught on it very fast, and boosted potato swf meta followers were feeling the pain of game not spoon feeding them.
Sad it will be hot fixed as it negatively affects survivors.
-
No.
Best suggestion was already provided 4 years ago.
Forcing a survivor's head into a bear trap is the only mori he needs.
-
Spirit is a no brainer killer.
Headset is all you need. Want to be an arse, use stridor too, now nothing can escape you, you literally can play this game with a brain disability and still win, as countering spirit is literally a gambling game for survivors, they have barely if any way to counter anything you do.
You can even win by standing still for few seconds, survivors will gladly go up to you and let them hit you, because you used your 300 IQ move on them and they know you are a superior human being and they cannot match you.
Thus, generic killer build is all you need.
Pop, bbq and Thrilling or Discordance. Stridor for being uncounterable.

Sorry for the double quote but does that mean blindness also doesn't work against perks like bond?
I never run into blindness when i play survivor so i actually have no idea
It does hide Bond auras.
It SHOULDNT hide any white auras, which are often reserved for killer powers.
