But then if there is another Survivor closeby... I figured that it'll be fair to give it a cooldown

but if it's activating even when the survivor is on hook, then you can deduce that it's the survivor nearby so it's useful

Fair enough... I agree with that

Whispers should deactivate apon Hooking a survivor for let's say 15-30 seconds (to be fair)

Well it should deactivate for the person on hook tbh

A comedy musical would be the greatest thing. DBD is already serious enough as is, something to kick back and take it up a notch on the fun factor would be a nice gap.

that's why they made the dating game lol

  • they already do this, Myers has tier 3, nemesis has tier 3, ghost face can mark people, hillbilly can chainsaw and instantly down, pyramid head can mori... tho it's not the same as oni, yes, it is an ultimate power beyond the standard m1 swing, so, yes it definitely is exactly that. these powers are meant to be designed to fit the characters that already exist, Myers can't really have an "ultimate"

  • I love Beetlejuice, but.. this is not what dbd needs lmao, it's too serious, the song you provided doesn't really fit the vibe I'd imagine actually... I could totally see a TV show or a movie but a musical would need a lot of development

To be honest, it really seems like BHVR forgot they could killswitch issues with the game. I mean they did it with Clown but like every other issue has just been left in the gutter. Phasing into survivors on hook and survivors not being able to unhook would surely be enough of a reason to disable her, but I guess not.

I hate whenever someone says "BHVR probably doesn't know.... etc." cause like.. they're making the game, they're more on top of everything than any of us, they just can't disclose that they know until a fix is ready to be put out, that's exactly what they stated on the subject of hackers

Perks are the reason I bought the majority of killers (Artist, blight, slinger, pinhead, plague, legion, Myers, Trickster and Ghostface)

If I knew I could just wait for a rotation I wouldn’t have bought any of them thus losing BHVR a ton of money

you literally as of right now, can wait for a free rotation of perks, bhvr literally does not care, plus chapter's cost like 5 bucks, that is not where their money is coming from, it's all skins, skins cost more than chapter's, that's where they make the most money, but like the other person said, you could restrict it so you couldn't unlock teachables aka prestige them on free rotation, just so they couldn't say they'd lose money, seem fair?

You're right that basekit BT helped to reduce usage rates of actual BT, so if that was the goal, the devs accomplished it with flying colors.

But now survivors are forced to run perks like OtR and soon Reassurance instead, so frankly, gameplay is still pretty similar.

I don't know what the stats say, but if the devs think going to 10 second BT is necessary, the stats must indicate that camping and tunneling are big issues. I'm just suggesting we tackle the roots of the problem.

well increasing the bt to 10 seconds is pretty similar to running OtR right? it's not just as long but it accomplishes that goal as well, OtRs main function is actually suppressing your groans of pain, so it's actually a really effective replacement for the iron will nerf

yeah, but you said dunderheads, implying that yknow, it's an indictment on your inability to play a game by yourself. you emotionally stated an opinion, and slanderous complained about the people who use comms yknow people like to have fun btw...

  • @SgtMittens ...you can't seriously be mad at people using discord, like my bad let me just not hang out with my friends, oh how fun :| what

  • @Valaryyn said:

Title. 10 second free BT is not the right solution to camping and tunneling. It's clunky and unintuitive, feels silly with endurance perks, and can be abused by swfs to get free bodyblocks.

Killers camp and tunnel because unhook scenarios favor them. Why patrol gens when survivors have to serve themselves up to you, often in a weak area, to get unhooks? Killers should be incentivized to be near gens, not hooks.

So, let's reduce the unhook animation and extend the hook timer. Also, action indicators that show what survivors are doing would be fantastic for solo players. Maybe a stretch, but how about a limited preset chat wheel with basic messages like "The killer is near me," "The killer left me," and of course: "Do #$^@&#% gens" (perhaps worded a tad more politely).

Remember why this change was added, everyone continues to forget that before, you had to BRING bt to stand any chance against someone camping, and It was your fault for not bringing it, in a way forcing a meta to be formed because if you didn't have it you were a jerk. this is the solution, it's not clunky, it does its job and the stats show that

What questionable act have you committed in the name of getting an archive challenge done?

I'll go first. I had the Escape as the Obsession challenge and after having failed in 4 or 5 attempts I was getting exasperated. When I finally got it there was a survivor on the hook and I was not the obsession. Injured Felix came to me and I used For the People (which made me the obsession) on him and immediately left. I know I could have played that so much better and still had a good chance of getting the challenge, but I did what I did. I'm not proud of it. I still remember how Felix looked at me. He looked disappointed. 😆

No mither challenge: I got so sick after NO JOKE 5 days of non stop attempting the challenge, the next match, I let. everyone. die.

It was no mither... it was no mercy, I slaughtered them, I suffered the backlash... but I got my 50k 😔

I'd think the possibility of leveling up would probably be locked.

Other wise, just lock the ability to aquire their teachable perks. (Just so bhvr can't say "we'd lose money").

I think locking the teachables makes sense, although in multiversus, it's not locked, and I still end up buying the characters anyways lol, but yeah, just so they can't say that as a reason, and it can be purely for testing a character before you buy

  • @Phasmamain said:

Let’s say they did a weekly rotation. That would be enough time to get all 3 teachable thus losing BHVR money

Best course of action is to bring splinters back as a way to test killers before buying them without perks or add ons

The weekly shrine already exists lol, they're not losing anything from people earning perks, and now you're completely spacing the concept of killers, survivors I know are purely cosmetic, but killers they're all unique yknow? you suddenly start maining one killer during the rotation, get really good with him, oh wow I really like this killer, *rotation switches* aw man I really liked him, I'll buy him to keep him, perks don't mean a damn

  • I think that's totally fair to say it's pay to win. dbd needs to feature character rotation, for a limited time you can play certain characters for freerb we only have a select few, limiting new players to practically nothing when they first hop on! which is what caused self care to be considered meta even though it was the worst perk in the game. buying all the chapters also costs over 100$ which I don't think anyone's fond of.

  • Ok but can you really balance dbd? remember it's assymetrical so balancing in dbd is like shooting someone and almost killing them in an fps, but they don't have a gun. and you have to make sure they're having a good time.

you can't compare it to anything! across the board all assymetrical games ex. evil dead, vhs, propnight, currently have unbalanced matchmaking. if dbd were to fix this issue they'd have to get creative such as matching people by perks, the solution will never be matching people based on skill, time and time again that has shown not to work in dbd, or any assymetrical game.

  • @Gorgonia said:

Most killers love the patch. Some don't.

Most survivors don't like the patch. Some do though...

Killers were buffed, yes. That's great. SWF will now have to be careful or they will be slaughtered...

It's not really about the patch itself and the buffs and the nerfs. The problem is you can't buff one side that potentially faces solo Q players 8 out of 10 matches when these Solo Q players that are mostly casual and have average-to-regular skills (well, yes, you can because that's what they have just done). Let alone the ones that are still afraid of the killers and hide in a corner.

Solo Q is BAD because we are four people in a team where potentially 75% of the people is bad at the game versus a buffed new killer playstyle. I can't choose who I'm playing with so I have to suck it up and have a terrible experience or simply play something else.

Casual solo Q players are but pigs walking into a slaughterhouse. And it's not me saying it, it's killers as well.

Jesus christ... you called them pigs getting slaughtered... man chill out you can seduce huntress canonically now

Question of definition I think. I think the "grind ceiling" is how long it takes to get everything on everyone, which now will be a lot easier, especially if you combine incentives with BP offerings.

But the "grind floor" is how much grind you need initially until you begin having decent builds on your characters. And this has in fact risen due to needing Prestige 1 just to get the perks instead of getting their teachables at potentially level 30.

I see ceiling as the complete max, overall grind to get every character to 100, or atleast prestige 9 which is every single reward, that has been raised about 6 levels, the floor implies where you start, and what you can do from the beginning, it's base kit, it's the very bottom

  • wouldn't it be the ceiling rose? ceiling implies the max? so the floor was reduced?

  • @dictep said:

First face camper. I’m done, thx devs

bt is base kit, literally what more do you want?

no one's forcing you to play dbd, don't feel forced

it's only 1 game, obviously not every game goes like that.

  • @Roadrunner said:

Pls punish it by blocking the exit, if a survivor t-baggs in the exit gate. This game is so toxic, maybe do a little bit against it

tbh I think the lack of emotes in dbd is what makes it so toxic, in Friday the 13th it's a lot funnier than it is toxic, I think the solution is not punishment but actually positive emotes

I thought it would be more engaging for killers if they weren't stunned 7 feet away from lockers... to each their own I suppose.

So you think making baby mode for killers makes the game more engaging? at that point why don't we make it so survivors have to hit skill checks for every step they take and if they miss one they actually die instantly, actually lets just remove pallets from the game, cant have our sweet precious killers being stunned at all :( seriously just walk around lockers and pallets, it's easily avoidable

  • @Triplehoo said:

They implemented loadout's in the latest update. When you go to the build menu, you can see three slot on the top that has numbers 1, 2 and 3. And voilà..

that would be a local loadout, as stated here, global loadout thay applies to every single survivor

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

So like the pre-built load out settings where you can set up some builds and if you forget to select one for whatever you're doing you can quickly change to one?

yeah with the prestiege thing, everyone's just gonna end up with all the perks on every character so might as well

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

The point is that you’re on one hit from down at all times, meaning that any power that can properly injure can and will do it. Changing the injury to be exposed doesn’t allow that.

The exposed status comes with its benefits, need I say more.

  • @Marcavecunc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2979769#Comment_2979769

One way I'd fix it, taking your suggestion into account, is make David initially Exposed, but once he goes down that first time, he becomes Broken for the rest of the match. So the killer wouldn't know David is running No Mither until he downs him once. Only having the Exposed status the whole match would make it weird "Why did that survivor go down in one hit? I don't run anything.. ooh he's broken now, no mither I get it"

    wouldn't that just be unbreakable?

  • @Marcavecunc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2979757#Comment_2979757

And that's exactly why No Mither comes with the Broken status effect. Otherwise it's a super powerful perk with literally no downside. People run Unbreakable because getting yourself up once, with no other downside, is better than getting yourself an infinite number of times but being broken through the whole match.

But there still is a downside what do you mean??? you're still exposed the whole match I seriously don't get it. unbreakable only once no downside. no mither, infinite times, downside: instadown, how does that not make sense. I'm not saying no mither is a good perk, personally yes I would use unbreakable over no mither, but I just wanna see it be balanced so it's more of a viable perk to use, in its current state it has to be paired with iron will to even be viable because it doesn't completely silence your groans. Still instadown, Still the exact same perk it was, you can still be injured and use dead hard if you so choose to not get healed by your teammates. doesn't tell the killer you have no mither. that is the bonus. doing the tome challenge made me realize how awful no mither is without any other perks equipped.

  • @Marcavecunc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2979623#Comment_2979623

Just saying, if they change the perk, then David's perks won't synergize anymore. I wasn't talking about the achievement, but the fact that if you play David with only his base perks then one of them will be useless.

And if you don't want the killer to know you can bring yourself back up an infinite number of times, bring Unbreakable or Boon: Exponential. The fact you can pick yourself up infinitely is offset by the fact you're broken the entire game. That's a tradeoff YOU decide to make by picking that perk.

I think recovering from the dying state as many times as you want is definitely not useless, but letting the killer know you have the ability to do that seriously sucks. because then no mither is out right useless on it's own regardless in its current state

  • @Marcavecunc said:

If No Mither was an Exposed status effect rather than a Broken status effect, then you could no longer play Adept David properly, since you won't be able to Dead Hard anymore (or at least, not until you go down the first time and then you'll have to make sure no one heals you back to full)

so letting the killer know you can recover from the dying state, is a more ideal situation than getting an achievement

  • @Zeidoktor said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2979273#Comment_2979273

I've thought the same, permanent Exposed in exchange for the self-pickup and injured sound/blood decrease, though I did just think of something I hadn't seen mentioned before. What about Special Attacks that don't down Exposed survivors? Should those still be allowed to down in one hit or should the normal rules apply?

An alternative idea I thought of:

Whenever to enter the Injured State, you become Broken for X/Y/Z seconds, while broken your grunts if pain are reduced, you leave no blood, and you can pick yourself up from the Dying State. These bonuses also apply if you are rendered Broken by any means.

You play normally, but get stuck in a state where you can't heal for however long.

I think the no mither exposed status, just comes with its benefits such as avoiding m2 attacks as you said. the injured status and the broken status should be left out of this imo

  • @Viskod said:

I suggested this very thing in the last whiny thread about No Mither.

If you're just exposed the killer won't know until they hit you the first time, you don't automatically start the match punishing the rest of your party should the Killer bring Thanataphobia, and people could heal you to "healthy" after you've been unhooked to help avoid that penalty, but you still just go down in one hit no matter what.

    just makes sense right?

  • @Mandy said:

We've updated the wording on this challenge in the recent PTB to make the challenge clearer.

I don't find an issue with finding the Green Glyphs tbh - as totem spawns are places you invariably pass in the match anyway, and are more visible in End Game also.

I appreciate the reply Mandy! that's understandable, I've seen several subforms about green Glyphs, and thought I'd chime in.

  • BHVR's first-ever game I believe was a ds port OF a scooby game, no joke, the team loves scooby doo. But as much as they would like to see scooby doo come to dbd, Scooby-Doo does not. I believe the status was, scooby doo wants to maintain a child-friendly image, and you have to think about things like moris, would they want their beloved characters being gutted by hag or shot through the throat by deathslinger? I would personally, but other companies see it differently

Here are the two scooby games BHVR worked on

    image.png

And if you're looking for the BHVR logo on that art it's that little swirly white thing, because BHVR was formerly named "Artificial Mind & Movement"

  • I'm sorry but ash has just absolutely been through it, in the first movie, he's already gone completely insane, loses his hand in the second, and every person he loves gets turned into a deadite. He's so used to it to the point that he's selfish and doesn't care about the new friends he makes, he'll sacrifice anything for anyone though, and he's tough. Cheryl has definitely seen some stuff, but ash has seen some ######### ok?

  • AS MUCH AS I LOVE THIS IDEA

It just doesn't flow right, I like having a battle between the killer and the survivor, but after the prerequisite has already been fulfilled that's all that's needed, what I do want to see added to decisive, is an actual glass shard stabbing animation, rather than it just being them getting off, just add a little detail. don't let these other comments get to you tho, this is a good stab at bringing light into dbd, and lifting the often dark and toxic mood

  • @Raccoon said:

Fully agree, it's nothing like DBD. That's what makes it so good though. VHS tries to be like DBD and in my opinion, it's becoming the Paladins to Overwatch.

Tbh I actually really like VHS, it actually doesn't feel like dbd all that much, and the same with paladins, it's just sort of this thing where, hey we probably should stop comparing games like this, cause obviously there's battlefield and call of duty that are just 2 games in the same genre. But I totally agree with what you have to say, evil dead is an amazing game, but so is dead by daylight

Did you not read the part of TOTAL chase time? It can still be a last resort getaway. Just have the item automatically put into your inventory once the perk meter is filled and you aren't holding any items. It is not a "Last long in a single chase for this amount of time." That's too weak.

Yeah I read it and I stand by my point, the prerequisite of chase time doesn't work in my opinion, it doesn't flow like it should
