Ehhhhh. When blight came out, majority of people thought he was garbage. Very few people actually stuck with blight in the early days. Nobody knew of his skill ceiling yet.
Because he was broken on the PTB and he was garbage.
Regardless, as soon as he came out, people knew those add-ons would be an issue. Over the years, other add-ons have become issues as well.
-
Literally since he came out.
Everyone knew Alc Ring and C33 were gonna be issues almost immediately.
-
Coordination, essentially.
You need to chase near Turrets that either force him to break them, force him out or force him to take weird paths.
If not, it's essentially a straight upgrade to Nemesis' Tentacle.
-
Very based post.
I agree and will be relaxing quite a bit.
-
this comes off as extremely entitled.

@Coffeecrashing said:
Turrets were overall buffed, as the main anti-turret perk got double nerfed, and none of the turret nerfs affect how quickly or easily a single turret can knock Xeno out of crawler mode.
The stacked turret nerf is a fake nerf, because Xeno will still lose crawler mode to stacked turrets, even if the damage doesn't stack.
The other turret nerfs only affect Xeno's recovery if it doesn't get knocked out of crawler mode, which is a useless buff. The only important part about turrets is whether or not they knock Xeno out of crawler mode.
Should they not knock him out of Crawler Mode?
-
So instead of fixing tile generation and spawn logic, we've nerfed a perk that helps Solo's and new players.

Frankly, the Endurance is the least offensive part of the perk. Most maps are safe enough without having an extra 20% distance made on every meter you have on the killer. Not to account for all the extra loops you can make around pallets, forcing lose-lose for killers.
Not quite true, elsewise we'd see far more escapes than we do currently

And killers using Blight/Nurse with strongest addons/perks lose all the time. You can use the most busted stuff in the game but you can't fix skill issue. I'm not here making a case for Alch Ring/Crow being balanced because I once juiced a Blight for 5 gens and 4-outed at 0 hooks. We're discussing cases where people are moderately decent at the game. On anyone halfway ok, MFT makes up for so many mistakes and allows for ridiculous extensions to chases. There is absolutely no excuse for this perk to continue to exist.
Hmmmm, I disagree.
I think the Endurance should be removed and then we should see what happens. Killing the perk would be a mistake.

I can't speak for all Killer Main but I know I never complain about SB or Lithe. In fact, to this day I still prefer to go against a lobby of SBs and Lithes rather than DHs or MfTs. SB and Lithe I can play around and make choices. What choice do I have when chasing an Mft survivor? Shoot I don't even know if someone has MfT till at the end of the match so I cant even play around that info since I dont have it to begin with.
I do empathize with not knowing who has it. It can be very difficult to tell.

MFT is straight up overpowered. It's not a crutch. A bad player using it holding W will be hard to catch. A good player using it will be impossible to catch.
And yet, people with MFT die all the time.

Punish people for playing killers?
Where are we doing that?
I don't see any de-buffs applied to players for playing Blight.
-
Punish people for playing with their friends?
-
I dunno, that hit show Stranger Things would be pretty cool.
I'm still holding out hope for a Dio.
-
I do not envy new Killers. So much to learn and they don't have the luxury of time like I had.
Best thing you can do is to not take it serious.

Can you please explain how Chase Merchant (so M1 Killer who can at best gain some extra Haste, but you still have to chase normaly aka loop her) is oppresive and annoying?
It's like saying Wraith is overpowered because he also goes fast and invisible and he is M1. I don't understand. She is just M1 Killer with info power and bit extra haste.
Same thing, fundamentally, as Knight and Artist.
Stay at loop = dead
Leave loop = live
Providing the other side with only one possible counterplay is rarely fun

I suppose they are using them, however MfT substantially changes how those powers are effective, for example doctors shock ceases to exist, singularitys overclock you can pretty much ignore, night guards are just lmao, slinger/huntress can catch if you severely misplay a tile, if you don't dw you are safe, pig its pig dont have high hopes for her, trickster might as well not have a power against MfT, legion is just an m1 character so he just has to deal with it , same with plague (if she has no corrupt purge), GF and myers you probably can stop healing so exposed doesnt matter and use the speed boost to keep looping them (ghostface might be an issue since he can sneak up on you if you are distracted), freddy is a joke so idk if I would discuss him.
So yeah many killers can counter MfT, that is very true, and its not excludive to their strenght, for example clown absolutelly dunks on MfT and clown is honestly a free 4 man escape if your team is semi-decent, however that doesnt make the original comment I posted any less true, nurse and blight get way more value against MfT than any other characterbin the game brcause they frankly do not get affected by the perk.
I think with Range and Detonation, Doc is actually okay against MFT.
Also, I often use Knights Guards for stalling and occupying multiple people at once. Imo, if you're expecting Knight's Guards to get hits or downs on their own, you're playing him wrong.

just go to a Exit Gate and stay AFK there is nothing u can do against this vombo except u are Nurse
MFT Broke the Game and make most strong loops to a infinite and the Devs still dont see the Problem
Have you considered the possibility that there may not be a problem?
Not saying who's right, just asking if you've considered it.

I know that.
I would like to remember you that a survivor with made for this reaches shack from any position on the grim pantry. Just one example.
I know how to play. I also try to stay realistic. I have to sometimes chase people in unfavourable situations. Otherwise i wont get a down.
This is killer specific, but as pig, i have nothing until my first down. If i leave my first chase too often i WILL lose the match.
And a majority of Killers have mobility to counter that and if they don't, they have some way to shut down loops or to make being injured a risk.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3525775#Comment_3525775
Sometimes you have to.
Sometimes you dont.
There are few times in a match against normal players where you HAVE to chase in an unfavorable position.
It's one of the most important things to learn as Killer. Don't let Survivors dictate where you chase them at.

Nah I had 4 hooks at the end of the game. I mixed once, which obviously was a mistake, I should have tunneled from the start to secure or had a chance for a 2K at least.
Maybe. It's very difficult to say without seeing the match.

@ThatRedPyramidThing said:
No point in posting anything like this here. The survivor mains are just going to gaslight you.
Killers aren't allowed to express their frustration here brother. I'm sorry and I know how you feel.
But just so you know you aren't crazy. Killer is absolutely at the weakest it has been since the very beginning. The only worse time to play killer was year one. And survivors are faster in both gens and chase than ever.
Come join me in TCM for awhile. Take a break.
This is literally not possible via the very logic of the game.
This would require beyond perfect RNG and the Killer not interacting with any Survivors for the entire match.
It's either that or someone was cheating, in which case you aren't supposed to compete, so OP shouldn't worry about it.
-
I mean, if you really did chase someone for 5 minutes that is an error on your part.
Disturbed Ward's biggest issue is how large it is. It suffers from the Storehouse Syndrome where it has gens in far off corner pockets that you can't reasonably patrol and if you chase there you are gonna lose the game.
-
Don't chase them when they are in a strong position.
-
If they're a decent or better Xeno, they'll probably be alright.
Hard to say though, considering the Killer hasn't released yet.
-
I don't know if I like it, considering I quite like how Knight plays right now, but I have to absolutely commend the amount of effort and detail that went into this.
You clearly care quite a bit about this and it shows through your excellent and well thought-out suggestions!
-
Not really, it just means they put points into a character.
Like, I've P100'd Steve, but I don't play Survivor often nor am I good

I don't care about winning or losing. if the survs play too weak, i will let them go. but I don't want esports every match against a full squad. I want to play at a slow pace while having fun and doing silly archive tasks. so i dodge p100 cause i know what's going to happen next - 5 gens in 4 minutes and t-bagging at the gate
P100 doesn't mean they are skilled.

Nope, I've just been here a while.

Perhaps it should only be available with Leatherface and occur in his lair?

I mean hard to say since you can't see it but probably anywhere from 25-110 if I had to make an educated guess.
Right, it is pretty hard to say, sure wish we had a ping counter for Killers too lol.
Anyways, 45ms of Ping is equal to the same amount of time Resi shaves off of a vault, .045 seconds. I'm pretty sure that if the Killer has more than 45ms of ping more than you, that completely cancels out Resi.
-
@Xendritch said:

Probably around 32-54
Right that's about where mine hovers as well.
What would you say that the average Killers ping is that you play against?
-
@Xendritch said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3523037#Comment_3523037
I've seen a lot of top survivor players say resilience is more of juicer perk than MfT and from my own experiences I agree. You make so many more vaults you wouldn't otherwise with Resilience and it's very noticeable in game. Again saying "smol number" is meaningless when you can see the tangible effect it has in game.
Okay, here just humor me for this.
What's the average ping you get in DBD?
-
@Xendritch said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3522996#Comment_3522996
When it's the difference between a down and a chase going on another 20-25 seconds or more saying "look number smol" doesn't really mean anything.
The odds of less than .050 of a second making a difference is low, ESPECIALLY factoring in ping.
Like even MFT I GET the complaints for. The perk is STRONG and just via its numbers, you can tell. It gains you a lot of distance on pallet break and that's probably the main strength for regular players.
Resi isn't like that. Its strength isn't its .045 faster vaults. It's the action speed increase. Exit Gates, Gens and Healing. It's not strong, but it is good.

@totallynotamegmain said:
Maybe the solution is to remove Emps all together? The killers who have direct mechanics to counter them are usually the weakest or least fun to play. The downside would be that they remove the invincibility maybe 🤔
Yeah, no.
He would be absurdly broken without EMPs.
@topic, make it so that EMP's fire immediately once charged, reduce their range slightly and make cleansing another Survivor require you to be within 2 meters of them.

@Xendritch said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3522974#Comment_3522974
So we can buff killer speeds across the board by 3% right?
That's such a tiny percentage.
Iirc, Resilence boosts vault speeds by .045 seconds.
I don't really think ANY movement speed bonuses are comparable to such a small boost to vault speed. You'd have a better time arguing the gen speed aspect of Resi
-
Resi is such a tiny percentage iirc

That would be a dream match today. No camping, no tunneling. Just a Blight that constantly switches targets. Imagine that!
On top, Ruin had no effect when a survivor worked on a gen.
It's rather naive to think that Blight wouldn't still tunnel.

Yes you could break the pallet at least. Maybe you have 0 chance against comp survivors, but he's not playing against those, just look at the video, Cheryl wasn't even using the window, she tried to vault the pallet. He could mindgame the pallet here.
And if we assume comp level of play then it's also fair to assume a comp Bubba also have Bamboozle and could break the loop anyway.
Some comp Bubbas are absolutely psycho.

Which maps are that? Honestly curious because I can barely think of any. The only map that I can think of that has too few pallets now is Rancid Arbattoir. Most maps have pretty decent pallets overall.
I mean, a map with a lot of really bad pallets doesn't necessarily make it OK.
However, Suffocation Pit, Wrecker's, ARP, Sanctum and Shop are all at the forefront of my mind for low pallet counts.
-
@MrPenguin said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3522370#Comment_3522370
LOL I wish there were at most 10 pallets on a map or ever just 8. I loaded into a few quick custom game with Zanshin on a few maps just to check.
On average there's 17 pallets on a map. Saying "8-10" is some strong survivor copium/bias. It's roughly double that. That's not even including maps like Cowshed, The Game, RPD, Garden of Pain, or Borgo.
Numbers for those who care:
- Ormond - 18
- Suffocation Pit - 14
- Wreckers yard - 13
- Badham - 18
- Lampkin - 13
- Midwitch - 25
- Gas Haven - 14
- Chapel - 16
- Dead Dawg - 16
- Eyrie - 15
- Temple - 19
- Ironworks - 24
- Sanctum - 12
- Residence - 13
- Ward - 20
I'm going to check because some of these are far too high.
And, even if it is true, the quality of pallets matters. Admittedly though, that'd make my 8-10 claim incorrect.
-
Yeah, I'd say about that many on average. RNG is a cruel beast at times.
-
@MrPenguin said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3522329#Comment_3522329
As someone who's played since Clown was released (roughly), yes maps still generally have too many pallets imo.
8-10 pallets was likely too conservative.
10-14 pallets with half being bad is still easy to deal with as killer.
-
Some people would not survive in old DBD.
Other than Borgo and Garden of Pain, I've generally found maps to have too few pallets more often than too many.

This is highly subjective though and why is a high skill ceiling a prerequisite to a killer being valid?
Should Wraith be deleted because his skill ceiling is very low and once you figure out how to body block with him you've basically mastered them?
It's not.
I was merely pointing out that other Killers who have the boring "place power at loop, Survivor must leave or die" usually have some other thing that they can do that's somewhat skillful as an alternative.
SM doesn't. Her boring "place power at loop, Survivor must leave or die" IS her alternative playstyle.
