Thats his antiloop but after uptade they will ( many bad maps even some good ones like asylum get more paletts and less dead zones) and with good read on killer survivors can get some more seconds or rounds around loop even sgainst clown plus he is realy bad at deffending gens with his non existent mobility.
Crotus Prenn is getting two god pallets inside of the building removed in exchange for edge-map tiles. That's hardly a buff.
That contradicts your earlier point, where you admitted that pre-dropping is the defense against Clown, as he currently makes most structures unloopable.

On the one hand, Tombstone is objectively bad design.
On the other, it's one of the last remnants of the DBD of yesteryear.

Do much hate for c-tier killer, all that changet is he is way easier than before but after current ptb comes live he will be around same power and skill level as before but Idk why so much hate for clown all you hace to do and most survivors do it naturaly is predrop and do gens.
Easier said than done lol
Some maps don't have enough pallets to support that sort of playstyle

Angiloop only on unsafe paletts and stealth is good only if survivors arent looking around on open map he looks just like wet predator while he is cloaked and the vaulting part is just the fact you can do it to every killer but wraiths the one who cant hurt survivor when cloaked so it effects him alone and thats just like it works who has better conection vaults first if the both players preassing space repetiatly, mastering wraith isnt hard all he has are uncloak mindgames like 99% few times and watching survivor reaction and then trying full unvloak and getting hits, bodyblocking and positioning to cut survivor from safety etc.
He isn't top tier, but he isn't some ineffectual and easily bullied Killer.
He's solidly B-tier.

Lightburn was total crap as billys overheat mechanic that effected nurse with not great effect and totaly destroyed wraith with long stun because survivor had just flashlight another reason why he was so byllyable back then.
That's why I said he's better now that it's been removed.

He is mediocre killer, pure m1 with solid stealth and good map mobility which makes him very adaptive for every map and not dependent like some other killers such as trapper. He is easy to play asand in my oppinion easy to play against with his power which is easy to uderstand for both killer and survivor but that doesnt change the fact he is very bullyable with survivors vaulting dropped paletts and windows ove and over and all of that depends on who has better ping (if survivor has 20 ms and wraith has 40 ms then its almost impossible for the wraith do any breaking or vaulting action when he is cloaked if survivor isnt bodyblocked from side which is hard to do and not reiable or survivor makes some delay in spaming space thats just fact which every wraith main knows), he is m1 and these killers can be bullyed by survivors with items and perks quite easily.
That is certainly not the case.
Wraith has excellent stealth and decent anti-loop. Likewise he has excellent mobility and even better map pressure.
He is relatively easy to play, but does offer quite a bit after the removal of lightburn.
I'd say that people who say he can get bullied easily just aren't quite mastering him yet.
-
@Abbzy said:
Another fact is wraith with trapper are probably most bullyable killers from begging till now.
Definitely not.
Wraith is actually pretty good.

So they created comms imbalance consciously...
Well. Another day of another great balance in this great game
Least you know that it was intended.
Voice chat in DBD would probably not work, especially at the time.

Do u have some devs comments about it? Like their intentions towards SFW from the start?
If it is really like this, am I wrong or devs consciously considered that solo would always get such an unfair treatment and suffer from comms difference? Like really, their view on SFW existing alongside with third seal existence?
May as well be stickied at the top of the Forums for how often I hear this myth. SWF was always intended, as was the expectation that people would use Voice Comms outside of the game.
-
@tes said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4003613#Comment_4003613
When? If it was, we should have the possibility to fully interact without 3rd part software for communicate. The way how DBD imagined existence of SFW were extremely limited. I know they have some concepts of voice chat in their files and codes, but it never was approved.
Moreover, majority of in game aura perks since the start of the game like bond or empathy, or killer perks that applies blindness (I look at you, third seal), were clearly created with intention of solo majority. Actual SFW we see now wasn’t supposed by devs.
I admit that tunneling and SFW were always sidely encouraged by DBD - due to pre lobby existing or for example, existence of killer who has a feature that implies tunneling (pyramidhead), but still, it is more a thing that came from player base rather than devs.
From the beginning. They arent required to add in VC. External voice chat was always expected to be a part of the experience.

Except it's not a 'gamble' if it's the only way to win. At that point, it's just plain playing the game. To call it a gamble would suggest that it's a risky option to take, but apparently there is NO risk.
It is still a risk. Because u may have not to be able to tunnel at all and it’ll be denied. U may be got unlucky and choose the hardest target for tunneling. U may have lack of time as source. Or not. It's an actual mix of play sense and gamble. When we talking about good players… U gambling with level of difficulty u set up when choose specific player for 1 vs 1. Because u don't know their perks, their skill, and u can't be sure in what position u’ll start the chase.
Why create anti system rather than playing around it? Just because it's a simple answer(not) on difficult question? Look at ptb, it showed how such phantasy turns to a tragedy with mass rant and more tribalism. U don't have simple answer on tunneling, because it never was a mechanic introduced by devs and it never meant for being adjusted by numbers. As well as SFW never were meant to be, but we have them in the game. Naive thought that u can get rid of player’s perception of game that they brought themselves here and it had a set up of 9 years. Even in era of hide and seek media of dbd were obsessed with this two themes.
U don't even deny that tunneling is a necessity on a top level. But u still want to get rid of it completely on this so called top level (because on low level tunneling will be cheesy anyway, even with approach that came from PTB). So the issue will stay the same and even sharp itself. Killers will be more toxic to low skill survivors or solo Q, they’ll find way to abuse in this game anyway, but they wouldn't be able to actually compete against players on high level no matter their skill. U wish to see this? What’s the difference then?
More efficiency will boost tunneling, but it will make tunnelling harder for killers who playing bad. Aren’t u satisfied? Only when u aren’t able to compete with this strategy at all maybe, but it’s personal issue I bet. I’ll say it out loud - being unable to dodge tunnelling at all with so many perks for it now and when killer isn’t S tier is the same skill issue as players who play same S tier through 4 aura read/slowdown and call it valid. Complete lack of self awareness, tribalism, and desire to avoid any challenge. I’m not embarrassed to say it. When u have answer on case of tunneling - no matter, is it u or your teammate in term of perks and still fail, it either skill issue, either unorganized play. Game can make it easier and less stressful by good RGN, better UI and contributing actual learning of mechanics.Game can ban specific perks on specific killers and can stop creating characters like Ghoul. Skill issue must to be fixed by players themselves.
SWF was always intended, wish we could stop spreading this misinformation

I would suspect it was the outcry.

Ohh no you don't, no dodging what you said:
Oh wow—how new are you that you don’t know aura perks all have range/duration/trigger limits and hard counters?
Aura is ultra limited and not a big deal during a nrmal chase.
You think the "trigger" on these is hard? You think you can "hard counter" the likes of "I'm all ears" and "predator" on a whim? We weren't even TALKING about "in chase" we were talking about "good stealth". Your words, We'll highlight it in bold for ya:
And there’s still plenty of good stealth: break LoS, do short stealth cuts behind structures, little fakes/mindgames at tiles, walk-tech — all stuff that buys distance and seconds.
Edit: the idiot hit post before we finished the whole thing
Also, these aura perks come with heavy cooldowns and/or conditions (lose chase, fast vaults, kick the gen, etc.), so mindgames and short stealth windows are still very doable — especially during those long downtime phases.
Yes cause those "conditions" we could ohh so obviously work around when trying to stealth. And no, not just chase, STEALTH. Want another thing to try? Phantom Fear. You look at the killer at the wrong time your revealed.
Well?
I'm gonna be honest, I think we've just been arguing against an AI.

Actually, there is something that can be done about bully squads. BHVR can make it more difficult to do excessive hook denial. And BHVR can make it more difficult to do excessive blinding and excessive stunning.
But that's just a symptom.
The issue is the mismatch in skill. Similar skill opponents prevents this from happening.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4001998#Comment_4001998
That doesn't make sense. Bully squads are even more unacceptable than tunneling, because they literally revolve their gameplay around ruining the fun of the other side.
Tunneling is an actual game strategy that can help killers win games, so there is an actual valid reason for killers to tunnel.
There are zero valid reasons for bully squads to exist.
I mean, you can use tunneling for the same purpose. Bully squads are rarer, but there's genuinely not too much you can do. They are only really effective when there's a massive disparity in skill between the sides. You can fix the matchmaker, but that's really it. Its just a poor sap being thrown to the wolves, but the wolves decide they want to mess with the poor dude.
But let's be clear. If you use in-game mechanics to specifically ruining other people's fun, you're an #########, full stop.

Nope. You just keep sticking to your combat term and move the goal post. And "face camping" has always been a stupid strategy unless, the survivors played STUPID. If a killer is camping the hook, just punch gens. Any camper getting more than 1K, is bad plays by the survivors. Stop blaming killer,.
Realistically, you could get a 2K quite consistently, possibly more if the Survivors didn't immediately realize it was happening.
Corrupt, Deadlock, NWO and NOED guaranteed two kills, with a possibility of three.

Than call it something else. "Shifting the definition" is like moving the goal post.
"We want A removed."
"Ok, we removed A."
"We want A removed."
"We already removed A."
"No, A has changed, so we want it removed, again."
I don't think any of us call Mori's something different just because they don't function the same as they used to.
"I'm getting mori'd" used to mean you got downed. Then it meant you got tunneled off of first hook. Now? Doesn't really mean anything.
Just a weird hill to die on.

From the start i have been saying, that i dont think we can balance the game around "pro players" that are so much better, than the average player.
Yet found Wille who is not near any average players, but ok ill play along 200 is far from 1000+.
I have also said all the way, that you cant compare S tier with D tier killers, but you really sound like you think all killers are S tier?
Ignoring that you never specified, originally, WHEN the streak needed to be from or that it needed to be from people you approved of….

It's the uncertainty that's the issue, the fact of the matter is that we know in a match with comp rules(which heavily favor the Trapper) that Trapper can never hope to get anything more than a 2k.
Why would we care about comp over pubs?

I don't like when people cite winstreaks when discussing balance, so many factors (time of day, playstyle, MMR, or the random gamble of getting 1000 bad teams in a row) can change everything.
I mean, at a certain point, it becomes virtually impossible to be luck

lol no Pig is not stronger than ever, even the dead hard streamer that made a living from streaming pig games, switched away from her because she have been nerfed that bad, the world records he set on her, can not be beaten unless she gets a buff.
The winstreaks are as you admitted out of date, and are not up to pair with current game balance.
Yes there are some killers that are very overpowered, but please try not to get every killer nerfed because Blight is too strong...
But let me ask you the same question i asked someone else, they provided me the numbers for survivor winstreak to be 200, should we base survivor gameplay on the fact that everyone can do a 200 winstreak ?
I have no idea who you're talking about. Pig has been getting buffed for years.
Pretty sure OnePumpWillie has a 210 streak with Trapper that ended recently, iirc. No gen perks either.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjLUD1sW2M4&msockid=837ede1291bb11f0a547e4a47a5f264fSeems like even the weakest Killer on the roster can do pretty damn well for themselves, even when you have people who move the goalposts to fit their narratives.
Winning 200 times in a row should not be possible. Let me flip the question, should we address the minor inconsistency or the massive inconsistency first?
Because 200 is a lot closer to 50 than 2000 is to 200.

Lets just agree to disagree on that, game mechanics have changed in the past 2 years. Lets take Pig as an example, do you really think she is stronger than she have ever been?
Also you seem to keep ignoring this question, let me ask a 3rd time.
What is the best winstreak you have seen with Trapper, Pig or Ghostface? recently, not 2 years ago. Is it close to 1000+ ?
If not, why should they be nerfed harder?
You moved the goalpost, so I will not be moving my answer. I gave you winstreaks, but that didnt fit the narrative you wanted to construct. I'm sure you can find some on your own.
Yes, Pig is stronger now than she was years ago. She's had a lot of excellent QoL.

That's not correct.
This would be like someone complaining about Billy being weak before the rework, even though he is already reworked and is eextremely strong. Killers are stronger now, not weaker. As you pointed out, Clown specifically was even weaker back then, but now he isnt so bad.
Ergo, we can assume its even easier to hit high streaks.

Do Trapper, Pig, Ghostface go on 1000+ game win streaks?

Funnily enough, I actually started playing DBD on my new gaming laptop instead of PS5… and I hit a revelation... I now understand why people say gens are boring...
Good God, skillchecks are so damned easy on PC, I feel like a kid who grew up on gruel and tried chocolate for the first time at the age of 21. It's mind blowing... you literally just click when the line goes over the crit bar... there's no need to time anything at all, you just follow it with your eyes and click... they are so trivial it is embarrassing xD
On console skillchecks are actually hard... you've gotta stay alert and really time it right to hit a great, and the dreaded 4 o'clock skillcheck is brutal. I've had so many close calls and near misses on those skillchecks, I've genuinely breathed sighs of relief when I've clutched an important check... especially when using something like Fast Track or Specialist. BNPs? Butt clench moment every time. Sometimes even Decisive Strike an be an arse.
You put Huntress Lullaby on any of that, good sodding luck...
If people wouldn't get so mad about it, I'd genuinely suggest putting the input lag on consoles as standard for PC, cause I had to stop playing on laptop for fear it would mess me up when I go back to console xD
I found it too hard to switch, honestly.

there are plenty of vids and gameplay breakdowns out there (and, like I said, with heavy perk/item limits on the survivor side for the most part).
This isn't data or proof? This is, what, 100 players maximum?
There are probably millions of matches of DBD played every day. You cannot use such a tiny, significant and cherry-picked sample to dictate what the rest of the game should be like.

there’s plenty of tourney/scrim footage where survivors win often and consistently (even with heavy perk/item limits on the surv side). my own escape rate is ~50%, but i mostly play solo/duo and don’t sweat escape—I’ll die for endgame plays or for good teammates. tbh, sweating my personal escape is boring; in a lost game I’d rather take a juicy last chase than hard-camp exits and pray the gates spawn far. if I cared more about the stats (and ran full SWF), it’d be different—as long as the team actually agrees not to sack themselves for nothing (though, endgame plays are fun) and we always secure the 2/3-man out when it’s there.
so y.. sounds like a you problem.
If I played purely for escapes and stats, my rate would be way higher. I don’t, though—endgame plays are fun, risky plays are fun. (and i don´t play much second chance perks)
Soooooo, you have no evidence? You have "tourney and scrims" but you have no actual empirical data. Nothing of any meaningful scale or contribution.
You are the one making a claim. Provide proof? If you can't provide proof, you can't expect anyone to take you more seriously than the guy who thinks BHVR has it out for Killers.

Spawn logic can be broken. Any half-decent squad spreads to key gens (not the spawn gens), and the first chase is routed away from teammates/key tiles into irrelevant space. If the killer commits, he bleeds time; if he doesn’t, he still lost time rotating. Holding two survivors in one zone at start only works if the team is unorganized—it happens, you take those, but it says nothing about overall balance. Anecdote ≠ data.
You keep circling back to, “KR is inflated by bad survivor play” as if that somehow makes it irrelevant. If the average outcome across hundreds of thousands of matches, even at the highest level of play is still Killer-leaving, then the practical reality of the game is that killers are succeeding more often.
You can’t just hand‑wave that away by saying “Well, if survivors played perfectly” because that’s true of literally any competitive game. Perfect play, or even consistently good play, is purely hypothetical. In a real game, players make mistakes without even knowing.
And again, we do have segmented data for high vs low MMR, solo vs SWF, even some killer‑specific numbers, iirc. Those still show killers outperforming survivors in most brackets. If your position is that survivors are the real power role against most killers, then the burden of proof is on you to produce any real evidence of that.
Until then, KR remains the only empirical, game‑wide metric we have. It really isn't perfect, but it’s a lot better than, “I’ve seen good survivors win when they play cold‑blooded.” That’s completely anecdotal. As of right now, the actual data says Survivors aren't winning nearly as often as Killers, even when you filter for the high end of play.

Large-scale dashboards would be great, but you don’t need them to see the pattern. Get yourself into high MMR (or watch verifiably high-MMR VODs), record 50–100 matches, and code the rounds. Tag opener quality (spawn spread, first two downs, hook stacking), SWF vs solo, reset timing, 3-gen states, trade calls, people throwing and when, /endgame/over commitment
That tape tells you the why KR can’t: a lot of 4Ks come from early macro errors and refusing a 1-for-3, and a lot of escapes come from soft openers. KR without round context is a blunt instrument.
Record it. Just analyze high-MMR matches. See where it breaks. It’s not that hard. You should be doing this anyway if you want to improve.
Yeah, here's the thing. If there is truly high-mmr, I'm already in it.
Considering that I've been playing the game at a high-level since, I'd say probably 2019, I think I might know what I'm talking about.
You are acting like Survivors have all the agency, and Killers are purely reactionary. I am perfectly capable, as a Killer main, of putting Survivors into situations where no matter what, I get a favorable outcome.
For example, spawn spread can be annoying, but I know how to deal with it. If four Survivors spawn separately, if I find one, I know where the others are via spawn logic. I can chase one into another and hold them both in an area, thereby negating some of the damage.
Another example, first chases and quick downs matter less than you think, especially today. I find that even if I don't get a quick down, removing strong pallets is almost better. In yesteryear, there were a lot of strong pallets. Too many to burn through quickly. Now? Maps may have 3-5 strong pallets. I can get through those and make my mid to late game laughably easy.
Implying that I'm not knowledgeable (or good) enough simply because I have a different opinion is a little silly.
