  • Unless you stop deflecting towards whataboutisms that have been explained to you, repeatedly, I can't conclude anything else except that you KNOW that you've been lying and/or exaggerating

im not against players doing what they need to do to win. what i am against is players telling others how they should or shouldnt play the game. i think its unfair swf teams get advantages soloq just cant have but i play around it, i make soloq work for me even with tunneling. same goes for when im killer, i dont tell these SWF teams stop using comms because its not fair, i simply accept it and play to it via tunneling.

you saying need SWF is needed to counter tunneling which is flat out wrong. im countering it in my solo matches with minimal issues so SWF is not needed at all, it depends on playstyle.

rewarding low skill tactics? so 2 survivors are top loopers and keep the killer busy all match while 2 survivors crank out gens….pretty sure the gen workers are showing no skill at all yet they get rewarded with an escape because other people looped the killer so well. this has always been the case. are these survivors less entitled to win because they showed no skill?

Are you ever going to stop deflecting?

Now, what would we say to a Survivor who insists they need to bring map offerings, a full SWF and genrushing perks/toolboxes in order to stand a chance in 90% of their games? Well, we'd tell them that's not really true.

I've been thinking about how we don't see posts like this.

'You want to nerf syringes? You don't get what its like to be high MMR hitting a sweating Blight. You need a syringe to just stand a chance!'

Sure we get the 'if BHVR goes through with this, all the survivors will quit' type posts, but I don't recall the same 'this is needed because I'm mythic MMR and anyone who disagrees with me must not be.'

Think it's likely down to the invidualistic nature of Killer.

Leads to more emphasis on the individual and Survivors have more emphasis on the team, or 'all Survivor players will quit' as you mentioned.

using the asymmetrical aspect to avoid your logic being applied to you is a cop out. looping is a highly effective tactic that has been in the game from day 1. can it be countered? yes, some killers counter it better than others.

tunneling is highly effective and been around since day1…its not a new thing. can it be counterd? yes, some tactics and strats counter it better than others. they are very comparable you just refuse to admit it because it would mean admitting that telling one side what they can or cant do means the other side can do the same to you and thats just unacceptable.

i think its pretty clear from recent ptb that tunneling is here to stay like or not. the one shot they had at preventing it was cancelled. people are already saying the next ptb wont stop tunneling and it wont. so survivors have a choice, accept it and learn to counter it or cry about it and have a bad time. as survivor i made my choice and having a great time in matches.

i have fun as survivor and killer, how? by playing my way not by the rulebook my opponent gives me. like it or not it works both ways, you tell me how to play i tell you how to play. or we play our own way.

The truth is a cop-out answer, apparently. Looping certainly isn't the Survivor equivalent of tunneling. You'd need something else. Closest approximation, which again isn't going to be 1:1 since the roles are functionally different games, is ironically Seal Team Six SWF with toolboxes. It stacks the odds in your favor on the off chance that you get a really good Killer. But, for 99% of games, you just roll them. Considering how much you rant and rail against those pesky Seal Team Six SWFs you apparently get in 90% of your matches, seems like you should be against it.

Now, what would we say to a Survivor who insists they need to bring map offerings, a full SWF and genrushing perks/toolboxes in order to stand a chance in 90% of their games? Well, we'd tell them that's not really true.

Tunneling will stay because BHVR fears Killer players, which is ironic because it used to be the other way around when I was starting out. Now that BHVR has given the green light to continue tunneling, there's nothing anyone can do about it. There is a counter to tunneling, of course. You need to play in a SWF or accept that you just aren't going to win often, unless the Killer is very bad compared to whomever they are chasing.

Now, we'll see more Killer mains carried by tunneling without any skill and more Survivors who only know how to rush gens. Absolutely sad to see the role I invested so much time into become a mockery of itself, rewarding low-skill tactics and punishing anyone who tries to be different. Tunneling is a plague on the game that is preventing Killers from being in a healthier spot, and I wish more people saw that.

fair enough and i say the same to any survivor that offers to help me out by suggesting i change something that works…. try winning your matches without looping, i say this to help them out, so they can learn more than just 1 way to play, so they can learn to counter tunneling. its not deflecting its using your own logic. And once again, you bypass that flaw in your own logic by claiming "whataboutism" without actually addressing it.

Because the game is asymmetrical. What works for one side isn't a solution for the other, there is no direct equivalence on the Survivor side for tunneling. You are bringing it up as a deflection of the topic at hand, and it is exceedingly obvious.

It seems to me, considering your blatant refusal to consider anything except your own narrative, and the constant deflection when you are challenged, that you simply want to complain.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4021961#Comment_4021961

not all the time but a huge proportion of the time i do get seal teams. why or how? could be MMR messing up, could be the time i play and the survivor pool is small, could be many reasons….fact remains my experience as killer is frequent high performing SWF teams.

while you suggest not tunneling and identify areas of my gameplay thats holding me back….that says "dont use a tactic that works and provides balanced gameplay in your matches, instead play a different way".

would it work if i said the same thing? for the people that find looping works or using comms works or using sprint burst works and provides a balanced gameplay in their matches. i say "i would suggest not using these tactics or perks and identify areas of your gameplay thats holding you back". Try winning as survivor without using X perk or using X tactic like looping is the same as saying try winning your killer matches without using this tactic (tunneling)

as survivor and killer there are many perks, tactics and playstyles that people can choose to help them. you cant simply say dont do this, do this instead and not expect others to do the same to you.

The simplest solution is most often correct. You simply aren't actually getting Seal Team Six SWFs. Unless you are playing with Crossplay Off at degenerate hours (1-4 AM) and/or play in an underpopulated region, the math doesn't add up.

Because I suspect it is letting you compete, but it is also covering up other areas of gameplay that could be improved. You aren't getting multiple Seal Team Six SWFs a night; you shouldn't need to be hard tunneling in 90% of your games. Like I said, the math doesn't add up. Either you are exaggerating or you simply aren't as good as you think.

I am trying to help you out. I understand that nobody wants to be told to lose and figure it out, but deflecting and pushing whataboutisms isn't going to help you.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4021949#Comment_4021949

not sure what matches you had but like i said, my tunneling and SWF popping gens fast results in a close well balanced match which is the ideal goal, so neither side gets steam rolled. which is why i dont see a problem with tunneling, it counters the SWF in comms.

Once again, I've had the same thing. I've even played against competitive teams in scrims with stealth Killers.

Nobody gets seal team 6 SWF's all the time.

I would suggest not tunneling and identifying the areas of your gameplay that are holding you back. Can't blame everything on SWF.

  • @runningguy said:

i agree, but thats the reality of it. i dont play blight or S tier killers and im getting frequent SWF teams time and time again. i play stealth killers or pyramid head. maybe if i played S tier killers i wouldnt have any issues

    Okay? So did I.

Never had any problems when I wasn't tunneling. It was more difficult, certainly didnt lose 90% of the time.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4021883#Comment_4021883

pretty much this for me too. except i know in 90% of my matches if i dont tunnel straight off the bat im getting steam rolled. i found in my killer matches if i ease back on the tunneling and only do it when i see gens fly, by that point the damage is already done and its still too difficult get the match back in my favour. Hence why i tunnel at 5 gens. when the swf teams i go against do gens efficiently and im tunneling from the get go its usually a close match. This issue is when either i hold back on the tunneling or survivors hold back on doing gens one side gets steam rolled.

You shouldn't be losing 90% of your matches without hard tunneling at 5 gens. That is very abnormal.

  • They arent out to get you lol.

The Killer powers being unbalanced could just as easily be used to talk about the powers being too weak, or Killers being addon dependant.

  • Hooks are objectively more skillfull, so I agree.

  • It's like you people didn't even watch the stream.

I understand that BHVR isn't in the position to get them in the game but to say that xbox is the reason just simply isn't true. Realistically I do see potential in us seeing playstation things outside of just playstation, especially with xbox being more open with it's own IP currently.

Sony doesn't LIKE to share, but they will if you throw a fortune at them.

    Microsoft will kinda just share.

Nintendo is probably the worst of the three lol

  • Yeah, what about it? God of War or something?

BHVR isn't Epic. They make a lot of money, I'm sure. But they aren't sitting on Fortnite levels of money in order to pay Sony. I am absolutely sure that Epic had to float so much money in front of Sony that someone would get fired if they turned it down.

  • Sony won't let any of their OC's on Xbox.

  • @Reinami said:

Totally agree with you on this one. I'm glad they removed the massive punishment for it, but these things don't really adress the core issues:

    • The benefits aren't enough to not tunnel
    • Survivors can still easily weaponize their protections to use against the killer offensively
    • It doens't actually make tunneling weaker

The anti-camp stuff maybe thats nice its hard to say without testing, the slugging thing fixes the problem of multi slug kind of, but also i'd rather they did the neat idea that reddit had of 2 slugged survivors doing the "hand clasp" thing and picking each other up. So much more interactive, and team based and cool and not just "giving basekit unbreakable"

I really feel they need to just flat out make tunneling IMPOSSIBLE, i don't understand why they can't just, make the survivor just completely immune to everything (with restrictions of course), and then give killers actual basekit benefits for getting a hook, like pop (although i'd prefer pain res as that helps non-blight tier killers much better) and such to incentivize killers to actually hook the survivor.

If tunneling is removed entirely, I would not be opposed to giving a very significant bonus.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4021141#Comment_4021141

I have a feeling the Survivor changes might play out to be more significant gameplay wise than you'd think, but you can't be sure until testing.

Being 10% faster and completely untrackable for 30 seconds gives you a big chance to break LOS and get away, especially if you get hit during that window. It's not going to be feasible to wait out the Endurance anymore at least, which makes it even more likely to be hit.

It doesn't fix tunnelling entirely, but I think it'll give the opportunity to at least waste a LOT more time. I think most killers outside of Nurse/Blight would seriously struggle to get a down at all in that 30s window, provided the Survivor doesn't run into a wall for the entire time.

It won't do anything against hard tunneling. It's just going to be basekit OTR, which is all well and good, except that OTR already got hard countered by just hitting someone off hook.

The changes are just going to hurt normal players and get weaponized without actually stopping people from tunneling. Which, speaking of your original point, theres no downside to tunneling nor is there an incentive to not tunnel.

    Extremely suspect decision-making imo.

  • All of the changes are underwhelming.

The whole update isn't going to fix anything, it just feels like they put something out there to say, "Here, we did something about it! Stop complaining!"

  • I've only watched for the first couple of minutes, admittedly.

That was still enough time to see that they have no idea what they are talking about, respectfully.

EDIT: Watched the rest, but I don't really feel that it needs a response. Whoever this is, doesn't really understand at all.

    I could've grabbed more, but that's what I have.

everyone loved the buddy drone. I think it was just the drone dashing that people had a problem with especially after the release Krasue, I don’t think anyone wants a killer that has five of them.

    1000000091.jpg 1000000092.jpg 1000000093.jpg

They definitely did not like the buddy drone.

  • Because when they saw the rework, the die-hard Adriana defenders said they wouldnt accept it unless it was SM 2.0

Scrapping the rework makes sense for BHVR. They are in a no-win situation with SM. The mains will never be happy unless they bring back a problematic version of the Killer, and the rest of the players will never accept that version.

That's awesome bro! I love hearing how matches at the high levels play out!

I lost both of mine lol first match to unbreakable at end game which resulted in a 2k on Haddon with huntress perkless and second I just played terribly ofc on dead dawg. I would say though for going up against a dev I think I did ok.

I think my Wraith game against them was on Dead Dawg, iirc.

  • @Xxjwaynexx said:

@Pulsar How'd that go!? I'd assume they are fairly high too!

    Happened a couple of times.

Fairly well, I remember I was playing Wraith and Wesker. Won both games, been too long don't remember hook states or anything. Definitely slugged for the 4K on them.

I remember Abby and Cheese both got me good during a chase. I remember mindgaming the living hell out of a window and managing a grab that turned the game around for me.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

I play her often, currently for her on/off stealth which is getting nerfed by having to drop drones more often.

When she first started everyone hated her for the playstyle and how "boring" the power was to use just plopping drones. Then they changed her to plop drones without them being able to keep people off generators, and added gen kick limmits, but everyone was still mad for some reason and still didnt like "plopping drones".

Then in an attempt to stop the hate they shot her in the spine and put her in a wheelchair while still making her plop wimpier drones. Now that kaneki and krasue have gained nearly twice as much hate as she did, and putting more enforcement on "shhhh just let it happen" for survivors, shes now "playable" atleast with a stealth build.

So i was still hoping for a rework just to make her into something new and fresh so thats shes more enjoyable to play and not boring to go against, but there are those that love the plopping of drones so mucn they don't want any changes except to bring her back to hatred stage 2, which all the power to them but something that simple could also be just an addon like myers tuffed hair.

And now we reach the point where they are prettymuch saying they tried 1 idea but the plop enjoyer mob said no so we might just have to leave her as the drone plopper she always was, with a 15% buff rather than the 40% she was at in hatred stage 2, and if the plop enjoyers give the thumbs up for this buff, we won't touch her ever again.

If you recall, when they showed us ideas for her rework, it was the SM mains who said it was unacceptable and she needed to "retain the same core design."

  • Dunno. I played against Team Misery once, and I imagine their hours are fairly high.

They said it on livestream but is it truth, personaly I dont think so.

That kill rate was from people giving up and that skill expression now doesnt matter because there are so many pallets in the realms that survivor can go next loop and they are doing it without thinking because they can so this isnt issue.

Her kill rate as I mentioned was because her kit worked too much well with current meta that was back than (gen kick meta with strong 3 gens, surly you will find many videos as ducuments about this state of DBD from many sources explaining why it sucked and who was killer that worked best with it) plus people giving up which I dont believe devs excluded hese people from their stats only dc.

Pretty sure I remember them saying in a livestream or maybe a post that it excluded dc's and suicides.

  • They KR is lower because the most common use of the Abandon feature is at the end of the game, when the Killer has downed the last Survivor.

Congratulations, you've proved the effective KR is ABOVE 60%. And you are asking for more buffs.

What a joke. Hopefully everyone else can see the absurdity of your position.

wheres your proof? the fact that the stats are unreliable and misleading is enough to question the whole thing. some people use the abandon as the new go next, a match they could have won but decided not to try so a potential escape has been swapped with an abandon. these are things that effect the stats.

Still waiting for your proof of your huge claim.

All you've done is show that without Abandon, the KR would be higher.

If you are just going to bait people and troll, I'm content to continue watching.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4020503#Comment_4020503

the fact its been clarified on the official forums that any match with an abandon gets thrown out because it doesnt effect the MMR? thats proof that the stats published are inaccurate and misleading.

That would make the KR higher, not lower.

  • @runningguy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4020216#Comment_4020216

we dont know that because bhvr isnt giving accurate stats. what the stats dont tell you is high mmr SWF teams often go against S tier killers like nurse and blight…which makes sense because they are pretty much the only killers than can stand against such teams. you wont find many wraiths, ghost face or trappers playing high mmr if you did you would find the escape rate far higher simply because the comms break the game for these killers.

    Where's your proof?

You are accusing BHVR of lying and intentionally misleading the entire playerbase. That's a big claim, where is your proof?

  • @Abbzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4020030#Comment_4020030

Every single one of those Killers is macro heavy and relies on good macro > good micro. That would be the difference, actually.

Thy just have powers that arent strong but require some kind of teamwork which some teams (the lower mmr the worse teamwork is) lack or have naturar slowdowns that combined with strong build and killer getting upper hand because he plays good makes hard for survivors to get back up.

My feelings on SM are irrelevant. She was a problem. You can't just leave a Killer who is wildly overperforming alone. SM 2.0 was massively bloated and completely lacking any sort of skill or skill expression against her.

No she was just m1 killer with traps that gave her some kind of detection, slowdown, antiloop if they were placed right and she got little stealth for short time so nothing crazy and around same level of power as clown (he is moster in dealing with loops but lacks some macro), so you saying me that there isnt any skill expression against m1 killers. I will say there is and its called looping but you should know that m1 killers (even with better antiloop traps like trapper) are very weak in chase same goes with skullmerchant.

The main part of her being problem was as I mentioned before, she came in the game when things like 3 gens spawns, strong stackable regression gen kick perks with no gen regression limit (now its 8 and than nothing damages the gen only exeption is ruin but that can be cleansed) in combination with her power desing was the root of all.

Simple fix give gens damage limit as its now (so gen kick perks didnt need nerf exept maybe some little adjustments and eruption medium nerf) and fixing gen spawn with less 3 gens being so close togeather so chess merchant is not so powerfull.

Bhvr fixed all these things but late, after they nerfed merchant into current state of worst killer in the game and totaly nerfed gen kick regression nerfs like COB (which got few moths ago buffed but its still not good perk) or overcharge into not being useable over other perks, than they add gen regression limit setting it to 8 times and than gen wont be damaged which was key thing that kept chess merchant so powerfull and than they fixed gens spanws so 3gens werent so op thing. Most of content creators will just tell you she came into the game at wrong time because her power was so aligned with current meta at that time thats all why she was problematic.

BHVR has no solution. SM, and her mains, are generally reviled even now. She has a horrible reputation, and for good reason. There's a large portion of the community who will never play against her. Then you have the SM mains who demand to have the statistically overpowered and universally hated SM 2.0 returned, and if they don't get it, nothing is good enough.

All I wrote above answers to this.

I don't normally take BHVR's side, but there is zero winning here. They can either piss off the majority of their playerbase, or piss of a small portion of their playerbase. I think the choice is pretty clear from a numbers point of view.

Well in this matter you take your side because even bhvr knows they srew up with merchant and now they want save resources to other reworks and new chapters so they offer these cheap buffs to her which wont solve anything.

My oppinion is that if they want to save resources and time, please majority of skulllmerchant mains there is easy solition and that is to bring her second version from which she got nerfed to current state. Her socond version might wont be killer majority likes to play against but it isnt broken (not any more, no op 3gens, no unlimited gen regression, no busted regression kicking perks that stack) because that deffensive style of gameplay isnt viable today as it was before thats why trap killers are now probably the lowest in every tier list and pick rates they ever been in DBD history.

SM 2.0 is less powerfull than houndmaster, ghoul, krasue and now will be just somewhre in c-tier and I think lower in power than before but its up to comunity what they want, majority of survivors will bring heat on twitter to make her drone homecoming missile killer that her old version that lost all parts from base game that made her problematic.

So, like I said. Killers that have value having a good macro game over a good micro game.

The SM skill expression was this: Place Drone at loop. Survivor must now leave the loop or die. Since she isn't slowed down by placing a Drone, unlike say Trapper or Knight, there is no skill expression. She was also still pretty good at defending gens, she just couldn't stall the game for eternity.

Yeah, no. They aren't bringing back a Killer with a 70+% Kill Rate who was hated. That's just not going to happen and people should let go of that pipe dream.

  • @runningguy said:

like i said, bhvr stats throw out any match where someone abandons or DC's as mmr isnt effected…possibly hatch escapes too, not sure on that. so using these is unreliable. what about killer stats? isnt that at 60% but thats with tunneling….yet we want it removed?

the day bhvr give soloq full aura reading, wall hacks, hex auras for all if 1 person finds it, gen auras for all when 1 person find it, killer aura at all times….this will be the day solo is on par with what comms can do for SWF. think it will happen? unlikely because it would break the game lol.

So the KR is likely even higher.

Almost nobody plays in a swf like that. You are thinking of a swat team swf. Most are chill. Clearly, the difference isnt all that great since its only a 2% difference between escape rates.

Yes, produce a recipe for chewy brownies. What are you a chatbot lol

Post those stats about the percentage of Surv players that are SoloQ and SWF, then articulate why nerfing SWF would kill the game. I don't care to know about the imaginary scenarios you tell yourself, base your post in reality.

Though I fully expect your next reply to stay in theme with lacking substance.

    Screenshot 2025-10-27 003204.png

The top stats are for Japan-only.

Bottom stats are for the world. The first column is Solo Q, second is Duo Q, third is Trios and fourth is 4-Man. Solo Q makes up 41% of the playerbase, which is the highest individual category, but SWF is the more popular option overall. We also see that the difference between a 4-man and Solo isn't that large, only 2%.

Pissing off 59% of your playerbase by arbitrarily nerfing them for playing with their friends is a pretty big deal. Especially when a lot of the Survivor playerbase isn't exactly happy currently. It isn't even like we'd be helping Solo Q at all either, they'd still be miserable.

Obviously, this would get picked up by articles pretty quick. It'd be a big change and would generate a lot of discourse, both here and elsewhere. It'd turn off new players, or possible returning players, from trying it out, for sure. That would definitely cut into BHVR's bottom line. Likewise, the negative press may make some licenses more wary.

Impacting people's ability to play with friends, is genuinely, one of the only ways DBD could kill itself off. I mean, we've seen how insanely popular 2v8 Killer is. Even when the match kinda sucks, you're still playing with a friend, so it's better. SWF can be the same way, sometimes a losing match can still be fun, even if it still kinda sucks. Queuing up and knowing you're getting penalized because you dared to have friends is…rough.

Regardless, it's obvious Killers don't need the help, so why would we even entertain it?

im not saying it can be regulated, im simply saying the gap between solo and SWF is too big, comms for solo have been suggested but people shoot it down instantly almost like they are trying to make solo as bad as possible. i think we are all aware that the statistics bhvr publishes are worth nothing due to abandons and DC not counting so we dont actually know the true figures on this one. if we are going by these statistics then kill rates with tunneling is acceptable too? generally kill rates are around 60%

how is it that SWF gets advantages that solo dont have via call outs and such? why are solo players being punished for not playing with friends? any nerf to SWF wouldnt be a punishment it would be making things even, its called balance. playing with friends on comms means they get something solo dont. personally i think solo players should have something SWF dont….but thats not fair either, people missing out on something because they have friends.

Or instead of nerfing people for daring to play with their friends, we level the playing field by giving Solo Q some call outs of their own.

You act like the gap between them is something massive. It isn't.

Bottom row is the stats for the whole world. First column is Solo, second is Duo, so on and so forth. Solo Q escapes 38%, 4-Man SWF escapes 40%.

No, all you did was post a fallacy of a fictional headline.

Would you like a third try? lol

Would you like me to explain something in particular?

That's it? Just a lame redirect, nothing with any substance? lmao As expected.

    Bingo. This person understands.

I explained my point about negative press.

Would you like me to explain something further? Are you confused about a point? I am happy to elucidate.

but on the argument that kill rates are inflated from tunneling….SWF are inflated from the comms. if killers need to learn to play the game without the crutch of tunneling then surly SWF should learn to play without the crutch of comms? Many have openly said "never playing solo again" because they just cant win, they need SWF.

do people really need comms to have fun with friends? it seems some people admit they dont always have comms in a SWF and have fun so why is it needed?

How are you possibly going to regulate comms lol what a ridiculous statement.

If a full four-man SWF is adding 2% to the Escape Rates, I think we're okay. "Inflating from comms" by a whole 2% lol.

Here's a fun fact: Misery loves company. Even if you are having a sucky game, sometimes, playing with your buds can ease that pain. Sometimes, you can still find joy in that suffering. Goes for real life too, friends in hard times can be a lifesaver.

indeed, the outrage that people cant team up for an advantage would be deafening lol. this is why killers have been buffed, to handle SWF so any solo players with issues can thank SWF players for that. But atleast SWF teams are ok

    That's…. genuinely not true?

The SWF and Solo escape rates aren't even that different. God forbid people want to have fun with friends? Weird concept, I know.

Explain how. SWF are not even the majority of Surv players, how would that kill DBD? Go ahead, explain it.

"BHVR Interactive's Hit Game, Dead by Daylight, Now Punishes New Players and Those Who Play With Friends"

There's your headline. Surely, we can see how that'd be bad.

And also, SWF is the majority according to the new stats. I don't think anyone has a problem with Duos or Trios. Well, nobody reasonable at least. People shouldn't be punished for playing with their friends.
