Window techs are probably one of the only few current techs that are based on bugs. I'm not sure why the killer loses collision for that millisecond. However, I'll have to say that it's extremely difficult to hit them and they aren't too hard to counter.
But why do people mind CJs and 360s? The former is easy to expect and super easy to counter and punish and not a bug, while the other works once at best.

Who were the 4 survivors and which ones were killed? I'm assuming they were making a "joke" (?) about which survivors were killed. Sounds like a very mature individual.
One Yui, one Yun-Jin, and two Claudettes. The latter played together 90% of the game and got chased, of course they died.
I'm not sure what that individual meant. Were they salty? Were they joking? Were they just weird af?

Whilst all the suggestions of the perks are great, individual playstyle really does need to be taken into consideration for this type of challenge and perks that work with that playstyle are likely to be better.
Whilst yes, there's definitely perks that help you avoid the killer - there's no point in using those perks if you're not going to play super stealthily (I can't play stealthily for example so I use perks that help my particular playstyle). Organically if you are losing that many matches, your MMR will drop and you'll find yourself being matched against (and with) players more of your skill level which will give you more opportunity to escape your matches.
Regarding your last statement with how the MMR will lower for your skill: it's really not like that. Even if you are a good player, the lower your MMR is, the harder it is to win. This is because in low MMR people are so bad, that even if the killer is a first timer, you are still dying because no one does anything or everyone feeds. This way you just dip into an MMR hell, where you just can't win.
Individual skill cannot be measured by only wins. This is especially true for low MMR, for the reason I've stated.

Fun fact: if 3 people play one character and all of them 4k, the average kill rate is 100%
Does that make the character strong, or is it just the fact that so little people play them, a single match can switch the balance by a mile?

Tbh most female survivor headpieces in DBD look terrible. Idk why, but they always seem to give them 300% volume to their hair, to the point it just looks like the hair is levitating above the head.

We appreciate the frustration around Cross Progression with the Switch as this was something announced some time back, yes this is still being worked on and we will update with more information as we have it.
With regards to other platforms, there's no further update if Cross Progression will be added I'm afraid.
With all due respect, it seems BHVR just doesn't care at all for Cross Progression any more. Dbd is one of the biggest names on the market. MUCH smaller names already have cross progression since ages (eg Paladins. It's playerbase is ten times smaller, yet they have cross progression except PS).
I don't understand how or why switch cross progression would take more than 2 years already. I'm personally not affected by cross progression not existing, but it is infuriating to see how BHVR does nothing towards it. There is no way this game, one of the biggest on the market, can get all liceses ever, while something as plain as cross progression that even some 10 players playerbase games have isn't possible for DBD.

The passive agressive tone from her sure gives a good look.
Kind of like they aren't the ones in the wrong here.

I personally believe these outfits will be like in OW1, where event related outfits were only available for purchase during events, and the new ones were more expensive (for dbd, new ones are auric cell only, old ones are iri sharss available too).
Still pretty terrible tactic, but not as bad as exclusives.
It's the same with legacy. Such an amazing thing to prestige during the old system!
The only exclusive I'd like to have is an anniversary shirt. On your anniversary of playing the game, you get a new shirt on all survivors and a charm on all killers with the number of years you have been playing for.

Literally a few days ago 1500 hours me playing alongside a 0.3 hours Dwight who didn't even know he had to do gens.

I feel like the exact opposite. With plague, you really need some good decision making making and aim. With Spirit, all you need is to ruin you hearing by using a headset to the max.
I don't have a headset so I'm biased. I literally can't play spirit at all.
Edit: to add further explanation, while Nurse is my main and definitely my favourite killer (I just find her fun, it's not about strength), her power is also very stale and it's easy to get bored of it after a few matches.
I think that killers with very straight to the point powers are easy to get bored of. But that's just my view.

As much as GannTM will hate me for saying this, Spirit gets stale fast.
Go for Plague. She also has some amazing perks.

Yes, Mandy mention it’s something like you start at a below average MMR like 800 out of 1000 with a new account or new killer character unless you already have a killer character at the 1600 softcap in which case you start new killer characters at 1200.
Also in addition to the comments above about swfs and backfill, keep in mind sometimes people make new accounts who have played before.
I really don't understand why new players start so high. This way, if the MMR bracket is too relaxed, situations like mine always happen.
Also, giving new players 5k hours killers and 5k hours killers new survivors shouldn't be a thing only because of smurfs.

That’s a terrible system, it would end up just having this massive clump of people all at about 0 who just win or lose against each other kind of randomly.
Well the current system where a 2016 player gets matched with someone who doesn't even know what the win requirement is doesn't seem better either.
-

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3215651#Comment_3215651
That doesn’t work because what if, for instance, you are at 0 and lose a bunch of times in a row because you’re actually worse than the typical new player? You’re MMR needs to go down as you lose so it can’t just be at a hard cap floor.
It stays at 0. That's what happens. You will be faced with completely new players untill you get the hang of it.
The game can't entirely hand hold you. You only need a few games to get used to playing, then you'll win too.
-
@Carmina_is_cute said:
Forgive me if I got something wrong, but don't all players start with a baseline MMR, and after a few matches, the game adjusts the MMR accordingly? Wouldn't that cause new players to go against experienced high MMR players?
That would be straight up stupid. It should definitely be 0 MMR, then you grow.

Thing is, I don't think it's even about SBMM anymore. With the incentives, they just match anyone with anyone for the sake of queue times. I used to like incentives, but I'm really starting to see them as an unnecessary evil.
-
@c0gnu5 said:
Well, matchmaking is based on MMR, which is based on your performance and not hours in game, so...
But for real maybe there was no survivors available in this MMR range, someone left the lobby, and the game had to quickly find someone else. If there are enough players with simillar MMR they are matched together, but if there are not enough, well, as of right now there are no bots in normal games so it have to be someone.
Thing is, it wasn't a one time thing. Ever since incentives hit the game, I'm just matched with all kinds of people. Sometimes I get a 3k hours survivor against a 2 hours killer. Sometimes it's the opposite.

Over 60% of my total playtime was before Player Levels became a thing.

It didn’t last long in a chase before he kind of meandered off, presumably due to some other trigger. It was weird - not as precise as I would imagine a bot would be but not super random either. Looking back I still have no idea if it was a person.
Yeah, that's right.

Devour Hope is kind of net neutral. You can hook the survivor for instant kill and get value out of hook related perks.
Rancor is just bad. The only reason to use it was for the mori effect now it doesn't do that. Exposed doesn't mean much honestly because you could always run noed which also works on hatch close.
Current devour is down-kill.
New devour is down-flash save, pallet save, sabo, no hook nearby, hex cleansed before hook etc.

I wouldn't call Judith's balanced tbh.
I think both tomestone addons suffer from the same problem of being rather uninteractive addons that can remove a healthy survivor from the game. Things like Pig RBT and Sadako Condemn offer a way to kill a survivor outright in a trial, but at least require a level of interactivity from the survivor to prevent that.
Just because Judith's is not as strong as piece and require more set up (gen stall, play with your food, and tuft of fur) doesn't mean it's a healthy perk to keep the way it is.
The addons just need to be changed fundamentally. Conceptually they are fine to still be Mori addons, but there just needs to be some other factor besides hitting T3 to determine when a survivor can be mori'd.
Judith tomsbtone at least isn't extremely unfun to face or op. It's rather fun in the sense of shifting the feeling of the game. I'd like for it to stay.
T.P., on the other hand, just provides with an easy kill (considering it's easily stackable with stalk speed addons) which provides in turn a deadly snowball.
-
It isn't a horror game. It's futile for it to try to be. It evolved to be something different.
But still, people just entirely ignore (even after I put a huge disclaimer on the post) my point with only tombstone PIECE being strong. J. Tombstone is extremely fun to face. Not the piece. That is simply stupidly OP
-
@TMCalypso said:
IMO, Tombstone Piece should only allow you to mori someone who has been stalked to the red while he is Tier 3. Maybe add in an effect like, once the mori is used you can no longer get to tier 3 that game. Or possibly make it an obsession based perk and only the obsession can be mori'd.
I dunno. The mori aspect of it is fine...it just needs a good negative effect and/or limitation to using it considering how strong it can be.
It just needs to not exist. We already have J. Tombstone which is perfectly balanced. There's no need for 2 mori addons.

The game changing over time doesn't immediately invalidate some mechanics. 2019 or 2022 is kinda irrelevant.
Then I guess he played well and earned a kill on you better luck next time.
you miss the point, there are all kinds of mechanics you need to account for on both sides.
Yes tombstone piece is probably a lil OP given how much of a snowball effect killing a survivor early can have, but the goal is not to feed him stalk. Accounting for opponent powers and altering play based on what killer you are facing is part of the game.
The game changing over time doesn't immediately invalidate some mechanics. 2019 or 2022 is kinda irrelevant.
That is simply not true.
I'm not sure when you started playing, but as a 2016 player who saw the release of Myers, I'll explain.
Back in 2016, the game was balanced around extremes: both sides had extremely stupidly OP abilites. Survivors could instantly repair 4 gens (like INSTANTLY), they could jump the same window with only fast vaults infinitly, there were pallets everywhere, DS worked on first down, but MOST importantly, moris worked on first down.
Since you don't seem to get it, I'll explain it like to a baby: back when Myers was released, it wasn't unusual for a side to be able to instantly finish the objective, be it insta gens or first down moris. Considering the latter was still a thing back then, tombstones weren't something unusual.
But now, the current day dbd is balanced around neither sides having uncounterable strategies or being able to quickly end the game; it's exactly the opposite. Current day dbd is centered around everyone being able to last as long as possible in a game.
Tombstones are just a remnant of old dbd. They have no place in the current balance take.

- It really isnt your over thinking it.
- Yes if your team feed him stalk and get away then there is a chance you could be the target of the tier 3 attack. Try to evade Myers when in T3, bold players get killed yet people still play bold and complain they get killed.
- This is true, eliminating a player early is a major boost to killer outcome and probably the only valid point about tombstone piece. It’s why you try not to feed Myers stalk in the early game.
- If it’s Myers you gotta assume he may have the piece then you gamble on that it’s part of the game. Same as a killer may have noed, survivors may have DS, UB etc etc. Don’t expect the game to spoon feed you every piece of information about your opponent sometimes you’ll have to use your head and think/plan/predict you will get it wrong sometimes and that ok.
So you weren’t paying attention to your surroundings when he stalked you and then didn’t get away when you heard the terror radius? How dare that Myers not let you play obliviously!
1. No, "my" not overthinking too much. The game was entirely different, with different strategies, different perks, addons etc.
I paid attention to my surroundings. He simply hid very well, stalking behind a gap.
But please tell me which other killer insta kills you without a warning, TR, etc.

I love the “it doesn’t belong in 2022 dbd” like it’s some completely different game in 2022.
What does that even mean really. It’s BS.
As for tombstone piece in general it is strong but if you die to it to first time you see Myers that’s on your team for feeding him stalk.
It’s also costly to Myers to kill a player who still has full stalk left.
Evade him and jump in a locker, force the grab and hook over the mori. It’s not like he can pick you up off the ground and mori you.
1. Yes, 2022 DBD is an entirely different game. Medium vaults exist, windows get blocked, insta BNPs aren't a thing and most important for my narative, first down moris aren't a thing. Which is what exactly t. piece is.
2. "That's on your team for feeding him stack" - that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
a. In solo Q, I'm not responsable of my team's doings.
b. Does this also mean that Myers should never T3? What's next, a gen getting PGTW is our fault for getting downed, like it isn't a natural part of the game?
3. No, it's not costly. Get a survivor out at 4 gens, the team is pretty screwed. By that point, if you quickly down someone, at least 2 people will be busy, leaving one person to do 4 gens.
It's not costly for any killer to get someone out in the first few minutes, regardless of how it affects their power.
4. "Evade and jump into a locker" - May you please explain how the first person getting mori can know he has t. piece? There are very few people who know about his open hand, but the fact that no one in my team knows that affects me very much. I still lose one teammate early game.
Also, have you considered the situation where, as I said, he stalks you out of the TR (it's literally 16m), with stalk speed addons, and then he jumps with T3 on you? I played on Dead Dawg, and I was doing a gen on the cactus side of the map. How could I have done anything by the point he T3d and jumped on me from nowhere?

Im talking in general.
But let me get this right.
You want to get an addon banned because of 1 single event that happned to you?
When im survivor i ALWAYS make sure i have a view to potential roads to the gen where the killer can come, and i always run 1 time too much than one less. (i am playing SoloQ most of the time).
I really dont remember the last time i was toombstone killed by a myers, and i dont think its a problem.
If you had met a scratched mirrors myers, would you then have mirrors removed because they give an unfair advantages?
Mirrors and Tombstone/Tombstone fragments are the only reasons i bother playing myers. If you remove any of them, then you might aswell remove the killer.
I LOVE facing ANY Myers, except tombstone PIECE. J. Tombstone? Great. Infinite tombstone? Great. Infinite T3? Great. Scratched mirror? Great etc.
But there is nothing fun about the piece. You literally have no clue it is in game untill someone dies. It brings close to no downside, so the killer just gets easy kills.
But nice assumption argument. I say I don't like t. piece, you assume I don't like scratched mirrors. What's next? You assume I don't like waffles if I say I like pancakes?

By slowest in history....Do you mean fastest ? Right after they increased gen times. They made it ######### possible to solo a gen in 47 seconds.
The fastest solo gen in history was as fast as you could press m2 and space. Which wasn't longer than .5 seconds.
-
I really don't get the thing with gen times.
"Oh no, the game is in such a bad state right now, because of BNPs" – dude like, you played the game back when BNPs were insta gens.
Gen times are at their slowest in history.
Keep nerfing all speeds, but don't buff solo Q.
Gen times are NOT a problem. SWF is the problem.
When playing solo q, you have to be lucky to see 1 gen pass. Let alone 5.

Imo, they should make it so after you use self care, you are incapacitated for 45 seconds. This way, using self care will take you one whole gen.
Will that stop Claudettes from using it? No. That's why it would have to be reduced to 10% healing speed.

The last one may need some range, or its a better Make your choice (it has 40m to trigger to gives Exposed a chance to hide).
Perhaps it only apply on a random survivor who is 40m away, and the aura should changed with they're screaming showing bubble instead. Just like how Make your choice work when unhooking.
You may not need to down them to get the value of the perk, the fact that they just hiding because of Expose already give benefit.
Thing is, this perk is a BBQ alternative, that promotes not tunneling much better.
Also, it works only when hooking the obsession.
It's really not similar to MYC.

The last one you mentioned is really interesting! I really like that.
I was actually super happy when Pinhead came and he had Plaything. I literally felt like my perk idea came into the game in one form. I think that a good change to make my perk different would be for it to cause to obsession to share all of its bad effects to all survivors in the effective area.
