Alright thanks! I didn't think of doing that😅
Omg! You realized that as well? Good to know someone’s acknowledged it!
so how is spirit faring for you in-game?

They just said she had the biggest strain on performance probably on low end PC’s and Current gen consoles. Her animations and particle effects are probably the reason for that
Huh. Yeah I’ve noticed her husk stops doing the “ regular “ animations she makes when phasewalking so maybe that but thanks for your reply anyway :)

I think 15 seconds is too much to be a passive effect. Especially when compared to other addons, and perks that have a more prep work involved like bloodecho to get more value
Though, i think the point of this perk is:
No deadhead allowed.
And like... does spirit and nurse really need help?
Correction : Blight* and Nurse :)

I’d make Spirit 100% undetectable while phase walking ( meaning spine chill and premonition won’t proc ) and make her go through walls and objects.since you know she’s a spirit
but this is all hypothetical lmao

"As a survivor you cant avoid something that is not only moving at double your speed, but can do so repeatedly in less than 10 seconds."
10 seconds is an extremely long time in DBD. That is plenty of time to make a play.
"If you could then why are there Survivors with thousands of hours sharing their experience and saying the same thing? You cant rely on reads alone."
Not all of them are saying that. Many of those also only play survivor.
"of course Im gonna see it from the Survivor perspective, because to them all they see is a Spirit standing still! Nowadays they can hear the phasing, and provides feedback for the survivor."
When I say see, I'm not literally meaning see with their eyes. I mean see as in understanding the feedback each player is getting in the interaction and yes I said feedback, there is feedback each player is getting, the survivor is just initiating the loop instead of Spirit.
"But at the end of the day shes still a killer moving at almost double your speed, and you cant avoid that forever."
You should never be able to avoid any killer forever, period. That's a superfluous statement. If you even last greater than 30 seconds you have won that chase. Chases over 30 seconds are losing the killer the game. She may be double the but you've also got a loop for them to go around, that makes up enough time for a pallet throw, window jump, or walk away juke.
"Also Im not saying Spirit requires very little skill, she requires a lot more than people give her credit for, but its still only a fraction of the time needed to learn Nurse, yet you still get basically the same result as Nurse"
You get much less results with Spirit than you do with Nurse and while Nurse does require more skill it isn't by a lot.
Jeez blueberry... are you my thoughts on spirit speaking? You think exactly like me when it comes to spirit, this is unsettling to me LMAO

It’s not terrible but yeah it does feel a little weird.
Hey just swing at the start of the match before phasing ( once ) and you’ll be good for the remainder of the match, you can do this in every match :)

if you're having trouble, pair MDR and dried cherry blossom and you're good to go :)
MDR on its own is fine, it’s the fact That it becomes insanely strong when paired with the DCB
basically you move really fast ON TOP OF having killer instinct... you see now? Mdr is fine but nerf DCB so it only works on silent survivors ( Tier 3 IW )
-
exactly, the amount of times i’ve kicked a gen, found a survivor, chased and then injured them only for them to , in my face , tap it while i’m in the cooldown animation... zero risks, how fun! :)
-
Aw, that’s so sweet of you :)
-
So basically if survivors are within the spirit’s husk’s breathing range will hear a directional audio cue ( assuming the survivors stay within that range or less not more), beyond that it’s all omnidirectional
and if a spirit happens to phase beyond the breathing range ( her moans you hear normally when she’s walking around outside phasewalk ) AND if someone happens to get close to it they will hear a directional audio cue if the spirit is still in the area ( meaning she’s not beyond 24 meters )
i’m so terrible at explaining but i really hope it helps clear it up for you!
personally, i feel like it should be omnidirectional in all distances ( outside TR, inside TR so she doesn’t fake it ) but make her footsteps audible and make her interact with all types of foliage ( but only if Furin is equipped ) cuz the normal directional sound you hear without it is enough but oh well

I will miss the gen grabs, but the changes were fair. I’ll be playing her a bunch when the midchapter releases.
those are so easy to avoid as survivor omg! Just let go of a gen or totem ( hex mostly ) and take cover behind something and voila! You’re safe 🤷🏼♀️ I don’t have high hopes Playing her against good survivors , ( obviously she’s no longer a spirit XD just an invisible wraith with a constant directional audio sound ) , no longer unique :( but i do like the chase music A LOT and really would’ve liked it even more if they went ahead and added a unique vaulting animation for her knowing she won’t be touched for a long time ( probably ) Anyway, we’ll see how she fares the more people get accustomed to adapting the change(s) ( if they add the dust thingy )made to her.
-
Agreed but we’ll see on the live release

Yes, I’m upset but it’s just a videogame so I keep things in perspective.
Your wording in your OP leads me to me believe you have strong feelings yourself and are the victim of many ass kickings delivered by Rin Yamaoka. 😊
😂🤣👍🏻. Nice comeback! I salute you 👌🏻

She's one of my most played killers. A few tips:
Spirit is as much visual as she is auditory. Survivors kick up dust on pallets when they vault. You can tell which direction they vaulted by the dust.
There are lots of subtle audio cues to go off of when survivors perform slow actions. They grunt and stomp their feet when they slow vault, for instance.
Understand how Spirit's idle animation cycle works. Simply standing still will work 99% of the time. But 1% of survivors will be able to tell when you phase because of Spirit's idle animation reset. You can proc the animation reset by tapping and letting go of the phase button while you stand still. This is the omega standstill mindgame.
Be patient with your phases. You don't need to rush into a phase immediately. Take a second or two to stand and watch the survivor and gather some intel as to how they're going to try and juke you. Are they running in circles? Running randomly? Are they charging forward and thus predictable?
Identify whether or not they have Iron Will immediately after you injure them. Iron Will can be a pain, but IW users can be pretty predictable because they completely rely on the perk. They typically double back in some fashion. I like to stand and wait for them to start doubling back, then phase and intercept as they crouch walk over to a bush or something. Remember to proc your animation reset when you do this to fully sell the fake phase and get them to start their juke while you watch. If an Iron Will player is causing you a ton of trouble, focus down those that aren't running the perk and deal with Iron Will later in the trial.
Stridor is still useful because it will help you land healthy phase hits. Crouching reduces survivor breathing sound by 50% healthy or injured. Stridor can absolutely let you hear healthy breathing from immersed survivors.
as a dedicated spirit main that has practiced a lot in custom games and learned as many details/info about her power as i could, i can confirm that just charging up the power a bit ( not fully charge it ) will not cause the animation reset. ( you have to actually charge it all the way up meaning the MOMENT you regain total movement in phasewalk, is when the animation reset happens.

The footsteps bug has been fixed, what about the other ones? Are they still there?
-
Wait seriously? I thought the bug only affected footsteps of all kind ( crouching ,walking and running ) but dam that’s brutal 🤦🏻♀️
-
Oh god this same thing happens when Phasing as Spirit or dashing as oni... ridiculous 🤦🏻♀️ When will it be fixed? Everything before the RE chapter was running fine... i hate it so much...gosh
-
@landromat wait doesn’t stridor cancel out no mither? Since it’s only a 50% reduction to grunts of pain and not 100%? With the most recent update IW at tier 3 will remain unaffected by it and other tiers of it and/or no mitter will still be affected by Stridor, right?
-
Yeah i already reported it and it says it’s been “ acknowledged “ but idk what it means btw it’s affecting all platforms not just PC
