I'd rather not see them. I hated seeing one I really like not win. I don't want to think about what "could have been".
-
When I play Friday the 13th (at least on Xbox) I find full games of 8 players in less then a minute 95% of the time.
It may have less players but at least the ques aren't broken.
-
Meg and Claudette are the female faces of DBD. None of the others even come close to them.
I'm not talking about attractiveness.

Idgaf about the crowns honestly, they make you 1000x easier to see and I don't think I've ever used them once. Try looping as Killer with a shining circle a foot above your head.
If you could put them on any head I think they would be a lot more valuable. But since they're stuck on the default head, yeah they're not really worth it.

The problem with your argument is that the devs are about as consistent as a landmine. The devs originally loved exclusives, they would give them out as codes for all who showed up to their events. You know why those were given to the community? Because people were scamming fake codes and accounts with those exclusive cosmetics, they then went on to say that it was a Christmas gift to the community and did nothing but give a few charms during Christmas.
Then there was the legacy outfits that only pc players could get (reasonably so) that they still refuse to give out. So then what about the event exclusives? You know, the limited time cosmetics that you should only get during the event? Well guess what? Some people's game glitched so they lost them and now they're given to everyone, even though the exact same thing happened to people with legacy and the devs simply said there was nothing they could do about it even if the player supplied proof.
It couldn't get worse you think right? Except after giving away the event skins that didn't cost real money to go out and get the codes and no cases of scams, just a glitch that was the dev's fault, they then go on to say no more exclusives (except for legacy, but let's just ignore that, says the devs), but what about the other events? Let's make them grindy as hell but put the cosmetics in store so you're more inclined to buy it instead of grinding. Also for the 3rd year anniversary, despite saying we were done with exclusives, let's make an entire new event centered around getting an exclusive crown!
Like I respect you for being polite, but you can't use the devs statement as an argument, they've always said one thing then done another. Also I know the devs said the rift pass cosmetics wouldn't be exclusive, but the problem being is that they then went on to wait a year before releasing them without any comment on when they'd be put in the shop or why, so it started seeming more like a popular rumor then confirmed.
I still think the crowns will be re-released. Maybe not in the Store but in the next anniversary event. They already gave crowns to Blight, Felix, Twins, and Elodie in the files. So I'd imagine they're gonna let everyone have a second go at getting the crowns (for every character) in the next event.
As for them being silent about the Rift and it's exclusivity, they did state in multiple streams and on their website that it would take a minimum of 6 months to 1 year before the return of those cosmetics. Meaning it could be even longer before we see some of the items. So I never even once thought that it was a rumor.
I understand your meaning on the devs inconsistencies regarding this subject, but I think we can both agree that in the last couple years the devs have done whatever they can to eliminate most of the exclusive cosmetics. And I genuinely believe their stance right now is to have minimal to zero exclusivity (excluding Legacy and charms).
Right now, the only exclusive items in the Rift are the charms and the singular pieces of cosmetics that aren't part of a full outfit (for now). I think the devs were silent on what would return and what wouldn't because they themselves didn't come to a final decision, but for the most part I think they have now, and we have to accept that. Unfortunately.
-
Let's start with having more diversity in ages. Then we can worry about butts.
-
The devs made this decision under the idea that they didn't want to leave anybody out and have no intention to introduce exclusive cosmetics. That's one reason most of them were given to everyone for free.
The only appeal to getting the pass is getting all of it's items essentially for free, if you complete it. Rather then paying the same amount for just one outfit when it comes to the store.
However, as you mentioned most people won't like every single outfit or even most of them in a single Rift. And a lot of people don't care enough about the charms.
I agree with you. I wish the Rift cosmetics were exclusive, but the devs have made it clear that they don't want exclusives in their game (aside from charms). So we all have to just accept that or not play the game if it bothers us too much. I doubt they'll change their viewpoint on the subject. My best advice it just don't get the Rift if you don't like most of it's items. I do think the devs are missing out on money by not making those cosmetics exclusive. But like I said, I doubt anything will change anytime soon.

@kaeru said:
Let it go. You still have unique charms. And rift unique recolors probably never appear in the store. Only original skins and only after big ass delay.
THe re-colors are released into the store too. The Meg and Hillbilly re-colors were just released two weeks ago.
-
@Zozzy said:
They don't do it because they don't think people will play them.
survivors exist to sell skins. Just look at the lesser used survivors like Adam, Jake and Jeff. when was the last time they got cosmetics? and yet we see a new cosmetic every other week for meg and Dwight
The devs clearly don't care about diversity as much as they say then.
Diversity comes in many forms and one of those is age. If they're purposely avoiding adding in more unique older (female) characters that aren't part of our roster simply because they won't make as much money, well all I can say is that sucks. They're being driven by greed in that regard and I hate it.

In dwight's lore, you can clearly see that he was a highschooler, he was the "scared student" in highschool. I don't think that Little nail biting smol baby could be 25 🥺
Dwight in high school? Yeah no, he literally works in an office and that's shown in his lore. He's at least 25, he doesn't not look young enough to be a teenager.

yeah, it's definitely possible; my friend got just the head using a mouse and ive still only managed the shirt with a controller, it's just really tedious and honestly painful + you need some high sens.
I've done it twice. The first time I got it in 3 tries. The second time took me like 5 minutes. That one was annoying but it's worth it.

It actually does in a way. Make up really makes a lot of difference in some cases. And looking at Davids heads, some really look so different you would think it is not even a same person.
I understand makeup can change the way a person looks but it's still their own facial structure.

LGBT has nothing to do with the survivors looks but ok
I said I want variety in appearance. People want variety in ethnicity, in sexual orientation, in cosmetics. It all just comes down to variety. That's the category I'm basing my comment on.

They don't have to be attractive. The QUALITY of the faces is BAD.
But most people call her ugly and then call for face reworks like they want her to not be ugly anymore.

It's a video game not the real world
That doesn't matter. If most people thought like that we wouldn't have countless LGBT threads.
-
Please no. Not every survivor in the game needs to be attractive. That's not like the real world. And I like variety.

And Cheryl is 17 in Silent Hill 3. I guess she's also 17 in DBD, as she wears the clothes she had during her terrible journey.
I think the devs said everyone is at least 18, even if it doesn't fit their backstory.

Zariinia is in her 40s but that's it. And I guess Jane is in her mid 30s. But they know young sexy women sell to both the duebro crowd and the Twitter stan crowd. Whereas older woman would piss off both groups.
I'll be shocked if we ever get a clearly older woman survivor within the next year.
Is It confirmed Zarina is in her 40s? She looks way too young to be. She looks more like late 20s, early 30s or so.
-
@ShamelessPigMain said:
Well, I don't think they're necessarily focusing on their gender, just exploring different archetypes. The brilliant architect stereotype (Felix) is usually male, but the explorative and brave reporter seeking social justice (Zarina) is usually female. The rags to riches swanky music producer stereotype (Yun-Jin) is also usually female, as is the punchy occult treasure hunter (Elodie).
After all, imagine what would happen if they made a male Feng. Instead of a gamer girl we would have an incel. Instead of the perk Technician he has Ragequit and he sends the killer harassing messages on instagram for rejecting his advances.
In all seriousness, I think there are many more archetypes to be explored, and so I look forward to new chapters' survivors. The obsessed scientist (Can be both male or female), the friendly old lady who brings you cookies every Saturday (Ladies are typically female), the Machiavellian politician who tries to get their way through cunning (usually male), the hardheaded accountant (I imagine this as female just because), wine moms (Female), biker gang members (male), the honor-obsessed soldier (male), the witty treasure hunter (both), etc. etc.
They could at least offer a variety in ages. Not have all of them be in their 20s, early 30s.

Probably only unlock if you bought the whole chapter. Not an individual character.

Right now there's not going to be a new map, but that's not saying that there won't be one for this character in the future - it's not set in stone basically.
I remember in a recent dev stream, one of the devs (can't remember who, would have to look back at it) said the likelihood of the new killers (Blight, Twins, Trickster) getting their own maps would be very unlikely. Even after the map reworks were finished.

The Laurie we have is 17/18.
Also, I'm talking about the most recent women. Yun, Elodie, Zarina, Yui, Jane, Kate are all seen as pretty attractive to most of the community. They're all also in their late teens, 20s and at the most early to mid 30s.

No, people existing is not political, no matter how much certain groups want to make it seem that way. As for the activists, were it not for them, I would not be able to hold hands with my BF in the street. I wouldn't be able to marry him (eventually, I hope). However, we still can't donate blood, among other things.
I'm gay and donated blood in high school. They didn't even ask my sexuality. Is that only for adults?

Some people were saying in live chat neither of them are LGBT. Not sure if they read their entire lore or not.

I mean sure but my comment wasn't being provocative.
Having an LGBT themed chapter goes against what all us LGBT members want: A character who's sexuality is the spotlight and one of their only defining features. We want an LGBT character who's lore is just as subtle as the straight characters lore.

Felix is from Germany. "Felix Richter was born to Janos and Ursula Richter in Coburg, Germany, where the Richter family had deep connections and were among the most respected of its physicians."
I know he is Caucasian, but just to point out he's from Europe! As an additional detail.
Isn't Feng also from China? I can't remember her lore ever mentioning her leaving China.
