The skin would have to have a completely new model then, I wouldnt call that a skin really
That's what legendary skins are. A completely new model.

Lara croft is white...
Why would the race of the original character matter? That's like saying we couldn't get a Detective Matthews skin for Tapp because they're not the same race. Ridiculous lol
-
They'd probably pick the Hammer, Jackel or Juggernaut, and William or Shaggy for the survivor, forgot his character name lol.

And this is the problem I have with it. I want to see how well I did compared to the others in a match and how potato/good I am in total. In Deathgarden (another game of BHVR) they added a little leaderboard which I really liked. You could see your positioning and (in %) how good you were in total.
And I would like to see the others' score. I want to know If Matchmaking was evil.
You'll still see everyone's game score that they got in a match. You just won't see their "rank".

Amanda Skin for Tapp
That wouldn't work as we have A Amanda as a killer already. Guarantee the devs don't want a situation like that.
-
Probably just unique lobby animations. We don't know about the voice yet.

Yui has the absolute worst hair, it looks so fake.

Last time we had hair physics, Kate had windmills that took up half the screen.
If they can can make Janes hair behave just fine, then they can do the same for Kate. It doesn't have to act like it used to.

They hardly bounce at all for me. But then again, I don't really run that much.
There has also been coding issues before, like with Kate's hair and aura readings. If it was coded to be realistic, then we'd be seeing Kate's default hair flying into her eyes quite a bit. Same with Yui.
My guess is that it'll stay the same way for the foreseeable future, as it's easier to manage a more still-image version of the hairstyles than the more active, free-moving ones.
All I want is for the hair to have the same physics as Janes rift hair. If Janes rift hair can move as good as it does, why can't the others?
-
I agree on the ponytail. In real life, a ponytail like Janes would be bouncing when you're running. Not be stiff like a twig like it currently is.
I would love a happy medium. Just look at Kates default hair and compare it to Janes Rift hair, you see a big difference in movement. At the very least ponytails should be more flexible just because it's simply more realistic. Although I don't think they have plans to change it unfortunately, at least right now.
-
Can he just be his own survivor with new perks please?
-
I really like the nectar vial and Kates guitar. Also like Janes award trophy.
-
Unfortunately, the devs already admitted that they have no plans to do this as its too much work.

The question that matters the most is how expensive they'll be. It's already a paid game with paid dlcs, paid cosmetics and a paid battle pass. A 20 dollar skin does not belong in a game like this, it's starting to look like a f2p business model, except that the game is not f2p :v
I can't see it being like 15 bucks or more. Especially if they did extra voice work.
-
Probably not. Legendary skins will likely cost more then any other rarity. You also won't be able to customize legendary skins, unlike Susie and Joey.

Because nobody wants all survivors to be black and all killers to be wheelchair bound? Trans people might be a thing in the future, though. The game is quite diverse. It would also help to clear out some of the more toxic players.
I'm 90% sure they weren't being serious lol

My point was I didn't say YOU called anybody out. But thanks for the condescending tip.
I wasn't being condescending at all. It seemed like it was more a direct statement as opposed to an overall one.
I don't have problems with people asking questions. I'm just going to state weather I agree with them or not. I was not at all trying to be "superior" with my statements, nor do I think you were.

Seeing as they are intended for licensed characters it's kinda obvious they'll be AC only. I hope the pricing stays the same though as you can't mix the legendaries with other outfits like you can with every other existing cosmetic. Then again, if they have their own voices maybe the price will be higher.
I just said AC only as it's not 100% confirmed to only be for licensed characters. I believe it will be, but there are already tons of people asking for legendary outfits for original characters.

There's nothing wrong with asking the question so there's no need to call someone out for doing so.

Why not? So far we have one example. A white woman becomes another white woman. It's a fair question to ask.
Ehh I don't agree. Gender makes sense depending on what they do for the voice but race? Why would that matter?
"Oh the base character is white so we can't have any other ethnicities in their place" Um what? What sense does that make? I would even argue the voice acting aspect wouldn't matter as long as it's the same gender. I mean Claudette is voiced by a white woman and Meg a black woman so...

@Dehitay said:
The game already has legendary skins inside of it. People have mentioned Legion and that's exactly what Legion is: a collection of legendary skins. I would expect the 3 additional models of Legion to be the basis of what you can expect for other legendary skins.
Except I'm sure legendary skins will cost more then very rare ones and will be AC only. I'm calling it now.
-
@TheRockstarKnight said:
I don't see why not. Same with the new voice/grunts questions.
Honestly it seems like a waste of the concept if they didn't - what's the point of adding a completely new outfit type to let you change the character if all it means is that you're just going to give them a different face?
Yeah kind of agree. However, with all the voice work that they need to put in, I just don't know if that's something they're willing to do considering the potential amount of legendary skins we could get.
If they didn't do it for Legion, I can't really see them doing it here. I could be wrong though. I guess we'll find out in 3 weeks with Lisa.
-
Yeah the only problem would be the voice. They didn't use separate actors for the Legion so I'm not sure if they're willing to do the voice work for all the legendary skins. I kind of doubt it but I could be wrong.
-

I agree none of them are as bad as Quentin (everybody talks about Quentin's face but I think it's the super stringy looking hair [especially on the forehead] that bugs me the most), but to be fair he's not wrong, a lot of the faces in DBD could use some touching up. I think this image explains it all:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NIXN4QKW8H0J/image.png
Even a really small touch up like they did for Bill's beard, something that nobody asked for or knew they wanted, but made a HUGE difference after it was done.
Plus the devs did say during the 4th anniversary livestream that we can expect a massive graphic update / overhaul for the 4th year, to help DBD keep pace with all the new next gen. stuff that will be coming out soon. Hopefully this also means not only just updating the maps, special effects for killer powers, and animations, but also character models as well.
It might be really weird to have a full graphical shift in DBD and then the character models stay the same. So here's hoping
I can't be the only one who thinks the Tapp we have now look way more like the actual character then this rendition.

Huntress skin and Yui should've won. That jane one had no place near the top 1000, let alone top 5
Hey now I loved that Jane skin. Much better then the Claudette skin imo. But maybe I'm biased as a Jane main, although I definitely don't like all her outfits.

Am I the weird one when I want a xmas collection of costumes? Or a metal band one? Or a medieval time one?
What's the fun in keeping everything the same kind of stuff?
It's just immersion breaking. I don't want to see all the survivors running around in Christmas costumes. This is SUPPOSED to be a horror game.

Yeah I don't like the Dwight elf skin either. Hopefully it was a one off. They shouldn't go too over the top with season stuff either. Jumpers should be it.
This is a game which involves horror, so it would be a real eye-ball roller to have 'Bobby Banana' or some other goofy skin mincing about the map. This is a DBD, not Fortnite.
"We want shirtless Myers!" Stop. Stop right now.
Exactly, made it even worse they made it avaliable with shards. At the very least make those silly cosmetics auric cells only.
-
@Dr_Loomis said:
Even though the Claudette skin, with the exception of the thong, is pretty meh, I don't think we should go down the full silly route of having Survivors dress up as frogs and alike.
Whilst some season skins, like Dwight's elf costume, are acceptable,I think it would take away from the game's atmosphere having Jake dressed as a hotdog, Meg running around as a dolphin and Adam doing gens clad in a cactus costume.
The Clown's elephant skin is great because it fits the character. The new Legion bunny skins also have a macabre comical element which actually works.
I think the dev should rein in on having too much 'fancy dress' elements with Survivors. It'll end up looking like a New Year's Eve parade rather than 4 condemned souls desperately trying to survive.
I agree with all of this. Except for Dwights elf outfit. I hate it and will always hate it. Way too silly to see someone running that and immersion breaking for me.
The other stuff you mentioned, yes makes total sense, like elephant clown. But elf Dwight is something I can't get behind and I hope they never release anything like it again.

Shirtless myers
Clown in his prime without makeup, loss of hair, gut, or smokers cough
Cone Head pyramid head either painted as a traffic cone or the head itself being a traffic cone
Patchwork legion just amalgamations of legion outfits as one
Demogorgon fingerpaint where he is just covered in fingerpaints as if he was the fun teacher at a daycare
Trapper angler fish with the mask with angler fish looking teeth as well as a bio-luminescent orb hanging off in front of it with juggle physics
Ace visconti open faced robe with tiger boxers underneath
Soldier Deathslinger with a full ammo bandier
And Finally Hag All dressed up and snazzy
None of these are legendary cosmetics. Legendary cosmetics completely change the character you're playing as, not their outfit.
For example, Lisa Garland is a legendary cosmetic for Cheryl Mason.

I wouldn't really say any of the outfits are canon. Vigo's Marauder, Vigo's Apprentice, and Vigo's Locksmith most likely are. Anything seen in the cutscenes is as well, but nothing else.
Ehh some are. For example Janes recent fashion icon outfit suggests that she launched her own positive body image clothing line. That's totally something I can see her doing before she was taken by the entity.
That's just one example from a Jane main, I'm sure there are more with other characters. Obviously not every outfit, but some.
-
Their own portrait is very unlikely, I could even see Lisa using Cheryl's voice (the Legion share one male and one female voice).
The most likely thing to me is the name change, but that's the most I'm expecting. If she gets her own voice too, awesome. I'm 99% sure they won't get their own portraits though.

I like both Skins. Cant wait to see them ingame, hopefully the Claudette Skin will be able to be mixed with other Skins, because Claudette seems to have a big problem with mixing Skins so that it looks good (at least in my opinion).
I am only a little bit disappointed about the Legion Skin, it looks great and is a well-deserved winner. However, Legion has already a lot of awesome Skins (possibily the Killer with the best Skins), and seeing something like Plague as the Winner would have been great (like Plague has some nice Skins as well, but they look very similar IMO).
I really wanted that Medusa looking Plague to win if you saw that one. Can't believe it wasn't even a finalist. Or the lifeguard David.

The only played licenses I really see are Nancy & Steve, I just don't see people buying these legendary skins for characters they don't even level or care about

Oh I know, I'm just thinking it's a missed opportunity to restrict them to only being with licensed characters, they could have 0 planned and we'll rarely see them, you know?
I only say that because I just don't think it would bring as much hype. Legendary cosmetics are likely gonna cost more then Very Rare ones and I just don't think they would get a lot of sales on original characters ya know?
-
@Seanzu said:
Yea I was thinking it would be cool to have a legendary skin that turned Claudette into her mother because she played such a prominent role in her lore, or even Evan turning into his wicked father.

Agreed. In what world is sweatpants and a tank top with a jacket "orginal"?
-
@indieeden7 said:
I have to agree, no offence to the artist but when the devs said that the entries would be judged on originality, I didn't expect a cosmetic that consisted of sweatpants and a hoodie to win.
Highly agree. Hell I would argue that the Yui and Jane outfits they showed were way more original then this one.

I forgot I can no longer comment on it. But it's in the Design your own in game cosmetic page and it's on the second page. It's called "Legion - Frank, Never stop slashing" and had 9 pages of comments. Check it out.

You'd have to look at the entry itself. The creator even made a video showcasing the animations. Happy when stabbing, mad when getting stunned, crazy when performing a mori. Looks a lot cooler then the way I'm describing it. I'll try to tag you in the entry if I can find it.
-
@Peanits said:
It's a way to have multiple characters from a franchise without needing separate sets of perks (and separate progression) for each. You're visually a different character with different animations and all, but that's it. You don't need to level them up again, and there's no additional perks attached to it.
Are you guys willing to share if each character will get their own voice? And are you willing to swap genders in these cases or are you going to stick to the gender of the main character?
-
The only downside is you won't be able to mix and match legendary characters. You're forced to use their outfit according to Not Queen.
As for the voices, they're probably too lazy to do that but who knows.

Legion already has a skin that looks very similar. That was the first thing I noticed when I saw the submission.
But hey, this is BHVR we're talking about.
Ignore the safari hunter Deathslinger or wooden clock Wraith skin and choose the recycled skin instead.
Looks similar yes, but doesn't have a face-changing animation, that's what makes this one more unique.
-
Probably not as Legendary outfits will likely be more expensive then Very Rare ones.
