We already have that. It's called not unhooking in the killer's face.
-
I'm just not seeing that this version of 2v8 is survivor sided as some have been claiming. I've escaped only a few times and a lot of my games end up with all 8 dead. That being said, I haven't been playing as much as a lot of others who frequent these forums.

Cool so we all gotta sacrifice a perk slot for an eternity because we can't understand in any other way who might be going for unhook and who is camping. Amazing very good game design.
I'm not a dev. I'm just pointing out what we have in the game to work with atm. We have kindred or being in a SWF on comms being the best way to know. I should add the HUB can be a fair indication too if camping is going on.
People have been kicking around the idea of basekit kindred for years. Maybe one day they will implement it.
BTW what are your must have perks that you run that you can't give a slot up?

I have beeline for the hook also but that's because I need unhooks and the other players won't let me get it without having to race to it
Well unfortunately you aren't helping if you are going to race for an unhook too because you want to get a challenge done. As @sanees wrote, keep Kindred equipped. The added benefit is you can see if someone is going for the unhook. If they are don't go too. It's a waste of time.
Edit, I see you mention you have been playing for years so you probably know all this.
-
What role do you play and what map offerings do you usually bring?
-
I thought they fixed this. I remember when bots first came out they were constantly missing skill checks. I got to the point where I never went on a gen with them. I haven't seen one miss a skill check in ages. To add realism I think it's fair that occasionally they miss one but on release they were just taking the piss.

Not sure why you hide the Chat, you probably were not nice yourself?
Not doing Gens is holding the game hostage. But being AFK (what you did) is also reportable and you were also not participating in regular gameplay, so it would be a bit hypocritical to complain, but you do you I guess.
When it comes to Locker Saves - this only applies if the Killer pulls the Survivor out of the Locker. If the Survivor leaves the Locker and the Killer grabs them, then Flashlight- and Flashbang-Saves are possible. (It does not make sense IMO, but this is what the Devs went for)
"Not sure why you hide the Chat, you probably were not nice yourself?"
There is no excuse for someone using that slur against another player regardless of what they wrote. Now, if the OP was using slurs too well they should be up for a ban too.

- Some slugged survivors purposely crawl away and hide, to spite the killer.
- Some survivors purposely wait at exit gates, or on top of hatches, to spite the killer.
- When the surrender option is added to the game, some survivors will purposely not use the option, to spite the killer.
"When the surrender option is added to the game, some survivors will purposely not use the option, to spite the killer."
Damn right I won't. Why should I have to surrender because you won't hook me. You want the kill hook me, mori me or watch me bleed out.
-
How come my comment was deleted? It was a tongue in cheek reply. I've seen posts that right out slander BHVR not removed but an unoffensive comment made about BHVR in jest is removed?
-
I understand where you are coming from. When I read anti-Slugging, anti- Tunnelling and anti-Camping. I thought "Here we go" Killer won't be able to do much. But I was worried about the AFC would wrongly impact players who didn't do that. Well that turned out to be a nothing burger.

Despite your claim that it's "common sense," I've given examples on it not being the case, which is my entire point. Something YOU or even the developers think as an "all encapsulating" system would wrongfully punish players who inevitably do things that were outside of your predefined "acceptable" criteria.
If a survivor is allowed to surrender, it may dissuade them from going next, as they now have a valid avenue to leave the match. It's really that simple.
The part about punishment systems is that most do not give a verbose reason as to why action was taken, and especially so if your action did not have the intention of "going-next." "Jumping the metaphorical shark" is wrong. I simply asked if you would like it if this system wrongfully punished you. This isn't an exercise in the system's implementation, but the outcome.
I think your concerns are very valid. I'm always wary of systems that punish based on interpreting behavior, motives and intentions. I think there is a lot of room for error and people can get caught and unjustly punished when they weren't doing wrong.
I know we have very little information at this stage and I don't think it's time to be a Chicken Little about it but I'll be honest I also don't have the faith in BHVR to get it right. Hope they prove me wrong.

The prestige skip functionally reset all of my characters. The old perk grind was approximately 14m per character. There was no difference whether or not you had all perks unlocked (I did.) There was no difference whether you hit P3 lvl 1 or P3 lvl 50. There was no difference whether your inventory was empty or had thousands of remaining consumables (My Quentin alone had about 20k consumables.)
Since the prestige skip did not take account any of my perks, nor my consumables, I took minimum 5 prestiges wasted, with some characters losing 200m. This means that I have approximately 1b bp that's just lost to time.
While I recognize that I am a minority in the community, I am a Devotion 88 player and when P100 dropped I was incredibly hurt that nothing was taken into account. Players that played the anniversary of the same year could of potentially had the exact same amount of progress that I had after 6 years. Especially since the P100 reward is simply a number on a crest, it's very disappointing how stingey the prestige skips were. Mileage of disappointment will vary, but there is no doubt that regardless of hours the P100 rework ended up as a loss of progress for 100% of players
I understand what you are saying now. I thought you were saying nothing happened at all. I was not a huge fan of the change. It screwed me over too.

@Dark_Vorahk1 said:
I used to have every character P3 so that I'd felt the game was "complete." But since there was no progression bonus or backpay for veteran players I now have only 21/83 P100. I am at a constant uphill battle against new content and regaining lost prestiges that I will always slave away to whatever role has the biggest incentive until I eventually catch up or the game shuts down.
What do you mean? They did do a progressions bonus. Maybe I just misunderstand what you mean.
-
While we are on the topic of Legion in 2v8 Deep Wound bugged? I was being chased by Legion while in deep wound and the meter continued to go down.
-
100%.
I'll more often than not pick which ever side has the incentive. I'm only at P75 for my survivor main and and after that I want to get another survivor to P100. Every other survivor and killer I would like to be P10. I'm still bitter to this day I didn't get everyone to P3 before the prestige changes a few years back.
-
They are trash but that being said my last game both times I was put in a cage it was the same bot that saved me. None of the human players even attempted the save. So my hat goes off to that Haddie bot!
-
If you are playing normal just bring a map. As for 2v8, it's pure luck. I haven't seen it yet either.

@danielmaster87 said:
It's true. Almost every time I lose, it was an obvious SWF. The problem is every time I get on, I face almost exclusively SWF. See the correlation? They don't play that well either. It's advantage over skill. I can just list off misplay after misplay they make as I play, giving me really good chases and gen pressure for free, and they still have multiple people get out all the time.
You'll see how the handholding majorly boosts bad players too, especially in 2v8. If you or your killer teammate is even slightly inefficient or makes a mistake, game's over. The players who couldn't play for nothing walk right out the exits, because you had 5-7 minutes to get 24 cages. And then the herbs give free heals and cage states.
I agree with a lot of your takes but I just can't agree with this. I'll admit I haven't played a lot of 2v8 this time around but I've played around 20 matches. I've escaped 3 out of those. I would love to see your game play where these terrible players are all just walking out the gates. Sure, a number of my games have been with terrible players but they have all be sacrificed and not escaping.
-
I won't lie, I get dirty when caught out by it. I suspect that's where most of the negativity comes from. But NOED is fine.
The only times I really see it get value is if someone goes down next to or or you get silly survivors all go in for a hook save before cleansing it. It might be different for others but every time I see it pop the killer will just camp the hook so unless it's right next to the hook you always have time to cleanse and then go for the save.

Because when survivors know what they're doing, they're unstoppable, especially 6 or 8 of them.
There a rare breed in 2v8 (for me). I often like to paly a few games before work. This is between 5-7 am. I find usually the survivors I play with are really good at this time of day and that's why I like playing at this time. In 2v8 no one seems to even touch gens.
-
Just because you don't enjoy something it doesn't mean you are necessarily "upset or triggered. It often just means it's not for you. I'm just not a huge fan of the mode but glad you are having a blast.

Survivor sided, without question. The fact that yellow herbs exist is all the evidence you need. However, with MMR being non-active in this mode, the real question becomes, "are these survivors able to take advantage of these"? I will give BHVR some credit for not only adding killers, but also encouraging them to really work together. A lot of successful killer teams I have encountered have got that nailed down and it shows. Still fun event!!!!!!
"The fact that yellow herbs exist is all the evidence you need."
Really? The herbs in my games are an endangered species. Can't take advantage of something I never see.

At least it was a bot. Just had a game where I was fully infected. I was just about to reach a chest when this Jane came out of nowhere pushed in front and opened the chest. I thought "Oh, she wants to spray me" So I stood there. Nope she ran off with the spray and she wasn't infected at all. My first thought was "Is that a a bot?", but nope she was not.

That could be it - I am probably in a High MMR and that's why the difference is so noticeable. Whenever I am playing against solos (easily recognisable when they are on different platforms and/or countries) I tend to fare way better, whereas 4-player SWFs are always significantly more difficult and coordinated (I noticed that I average something like four~three kills against full solo teams and two~one kills for 4-survivor SWFs, roughly, with other combinations falling anywhere in-between).
Oh well, I am a number's man; I do think a 10% difference between solo and 4-survivor SWF in high MMR is worrisome, but I would have thought the difference to be WAY greater than that (like 40% vs. 70%). I still think that a little bonus or malus here and there could help, but I understand given those numbers you shared that the devs and a majority of the playerbase should not feel the need to change anything.
" Whenever I am playing against solos (easily recognisable when they are on different platforms and/or countries) "
I wouldn't use that to judge. I know of a number of people who play together on different platforms. Also back in the day when I used to SWF I would regularly play with people in different countries.
I think a lot of people overestimate how many 4 stacks they face. I'm 100% solo theses days and quite regularly get accused of being in a SWF. Even if you say "no" they don't believe you.

Well they did try once to be different with My Little Oni and never again.

Good job, I think people that kill themself on hook instantly or dc are the reason many games are lost. A lot of people don't want to try if they actually have to think to win xD
100%. I understand. I've had many games where I seems like it will be a ######### show. I'm thinking "I just want out" and tempted to go next. Many times I've stuck it out and the game has turned around in our favour.

Simple fix if there is only 1 survivor left standing the others(or the first downed) can pick themselves up. This doesnt remove slugging for pressure while it gets rid of both slugging for 4k to drag out the match and malicious 4man slugging
I think that would be a fair counter. This may be a hot take but it should be you can pick yourself up right away. No waiting for recovery.

After watching Survivors every day, commit self-sacrifice on hook because they got No Mither is enough to challenge that principle.
That I don't understand even more. If you want guaranteed perks stick to normal mode. The other day a was watching a streamer and the killer hard tunneled someone out. The killer came into chat and said sorry they had no choice because they had no gen defense perks. I was thinking the same thing. If you can't deal with random perks that you may not like, stick with regular mode. It's not like incentives are higher in this mode as an excuse as why.
-
It defeats the purpose of the modifier if they start excluding/guaranteeing perks.
-
Does anyone know why the stats stats exclude events, modes, and modifiers?

Killers are more than broken enough to 4k almost every match without slugging. Killers have been buffed like crazy and their perks and add ons mixed the right way they don't need to slug. Slugging makes it incredibly unfair to survivors. Plus we ARE entitled to three chances on hook. The game was meant for killers to hook survivors. It says right in the games instructions in the tutorial. Oh yes down each survivor once instant win. Real fair. BHVR PLEASE fix slugging! Look at your messages here! NOBODY thinks slugging is fair besides killer mains who never play survivor.
"NOBODY thinks slugging is fair besides killer mains who never play survivor."
I wouldn't make a blanket claim slugging is unfair. It depends on the situation. There is a time and place for everything. Yes, some of the examples shown on these forums are unacceptable and Bhvr really need to look at solutions to those situations.

And where in my build am I supposed to slot these perks?
According to these forums I’m also supposed to bring perks to help with solo queue, camping, tunnelling, and 3 genning. Oh and I should probably bring some chase perks too in case I run into one of the S tiers.
My perk budget is getting a little stretched here…Skill issue if you can't equip a perk for every situation.
I'll point out I'm being sarcastic because I'm sure there will someone who will scold me.
-
I haven't seen knockout in about 6 months so I can speak to that. When it comes to slugging is anyone tracking their games? I'd be curious if MMR, region, times played etc… might impact how often people see this type of behavior.
I'm personally not experiencing this epidemic of slugging that so many other people are seeing. I'm really curious why is it different for me. There must be some factor why its so bad for some and not others.
-
You're getting 150%? Damn, wish I was. Lucky to see about 25%.

I got mine too. It changed most player killer from Billy to Nemi. No other stat changed. That was the only stat I was questioning though since I was sure I played Nemi a lot more than Billy last year.

This "strategy" primarily harms the killer, because at best he will be able to make -1 and get 8k bp in a 5 minute game, it just doesn't make sense.
It used to work somewhat in SoloQ. I remember well a l lot of players couldn't help themselves and try for the save and didn't sit on gens. Especially when hook grabs were a thing. It's dead and buried thankfully.

It doesn't matter if its visible to other players or not, the expectation would be to turn MMR into an opinion validation machine, where you make a statement and back it up with your rng value.
At the end of the day, BHVR can't get the grade system to be representative, but people seem to think MMR is gonna be this perfect measure of skill we can all sit in a circle and let have unilateral weight over what opinions are correct.
I'm talking about me personally. I can't speak to what others have in mind. Anyway, I have my reasons and nothing you mentioned is the reason as to why I'm curious to see it.

THIS 100%
I don't know why it's so hard for people to grasp that it still sucks no matter how to try to paint it. There's no reason that makes it better or okay.
Damn, I feel that. Had a similar situation with a friend during basketball. She would turn when things didn't go her way and start getting rough. Even purposely keep the ball away because she wanted to be the only one to make the shot.
And yeah, no one wants to play with people like that. This is the kind of stuff you learn even in kindergarten.I was one of the people who asked what was happing during the match. I wasn't doing it in a way to try and find a justification. I was just impressed you all got the gens done while a killer was playing like that.
While I agree that is almost no reason to slug all 4 players sometime a screenshot doesn't tell a whole story. I just had a game on Toba Landing and this survivor that had boil over kept running to the top of the spaceship. I tired to hook but the would wiggle free and run back up. After the fifth time of trying to reach a hook I downed the and let. That person could post a picture claiming "Another slugging killer!" I don't know maybe people still think what I did was uncalled for. I don't think so.
But I see the point too that when he see crappy behavior the instantly claim "Oh, you must have did something to deserve it" that's BS.
