No, it's expected of you to get 40% escape rate.
I see what you are saying. Personally I would still be curious to see it. I don't think it should ever be displayed for other players to see though.

Given your escape rate is 40% (the goal value) you're as good as the players you're going against, meaning matchmaking is functioning as intended. Congrats.

Your own post discredits itself. You say most wouldnt use it to lord themselves over others but then admit that you want to put high MMR players on a pedestal and let them have primary say in what suggestions should be considered when it comes to the game. And if your conspiracy theory about BHVR not wanting us to have a voice is true, why bother posting at all. They won't make any changes based on posts you make if you're right.
A 40% escape rate is bad then?

I haven't played since the modifier started and my first match (and subsequent attempt at playing) was so miserable I just could not bring myself to keep playing. It seems killers knowing that anti-tunnel/slug builds are not guaranteed has just encouraged the most miserable play styles and I just cant do it personally.
I have been watching several streamer friends playing and the queues seem really long like others feel the same too. Honestly something needs to change as the game has become pretty miserable for solo queue survivor after years of the game being rough for killer.

Ive noticed its getting so bad that the survivor que times are much longer than killers lol. Round 1:wallhacking tunnel nurse. Round 2: wallhacking tunnel freddy. Round 3: Teamslugging wesker. Round 4: proxy camping/tripple tunneling clown. Why bother trying for round 5 lol
What region are you both playing in and what times? My queue time have been normal. No longer than usual.

People are currently abusing privacy requests to badger bhvr into handing them a fake number that doesn't matter, but everyone really wants to use to bash each other over the head with.
There is no purpose to seeing your MMR outside of two specific reasons:
1. To minmax MMR gains to make a fake number go up.2. To weaponise your MMR to state that you are better than another player, despite MMR not being a perfect measure of skill.
If you want to know if you're improving, taking a rolling average of your winrate is already more than doable with self-reporting data to applications like Nightlight, or frequently performing VOD reviews.
Sorry to double post. For some reason I couldn't edit and include you post to my reply above.
That's not true at all, well for me. I just want to know where I sit. I still seem to be matched with a lot of new players. As I mention my escape rate is around 40% so is matchmaking broken or am I not gaining MMR?
-
@Rulebreaker said:
Out of curiosity why are people so curious about whatever MMR number they have?
For me I would be just curious to see if it actually goes up. I've been playing this game for many years and it seems like I can't crawl out of low MMR. According to my stats my escape rate was just over 40% last year so I must be higher than low MMR but I still wonder. I would just like to know where I sit.
-
I thought Nemi would be my top. I guess not. If this is accurate I'm happy with my escape rate since I'm a 100% solo player. I'm not surprised my hours played is low. I really dropped how much I played last year.
I wish there was more detail. Top 5 killers/survivors played and how many hours on each. Maybe your top 5 perks used. Maybe even the top killers/survivors you face etc… It really needs to be fleshed out more.
-
I really want to seen mine but the emails are so hit and miss. Sometimes I’ll get them and other times I won’t. I got their email about the chaos shuffle starting so hopefully I’ll get this one too.

What is driving me nuts is the red exclamation mark on the store page. I’ve been through everything multiple times and I can’t work out what I haven’t viewed. Wish there was a clear all button instead of needing to click and view everything.

By default, killers have collision when they pick up a survivor. The bug is that survivors are allowed to bypass this collision.
Do you mean when a killer picks up a survivor the other survivor with a flashbang loses collision with the killer?
Might explain what happened to me. I had my back to this David while picking up another survivor. All a sudden the David was in front of me dropping a flashbang. I did scratch my head because I was picking up in a opening to a loop and was confused how he got in front of me when I was blocking the way past. He had no time to run around the walls to get in front and he didn't have Background Player.

I’ve been wanting to try Oni but I’m on Ps5… Is he at the near “unplayable” level? Or is he still somewhat viable? I’m a fool for his whole art presentation and sound design.
I play on controller and I don't find him too bad to play. Can be a little frustrating at times but I still get enjoyment out of him.
-
If this is true and this has caused more slugging I just don't see why. Are people really that eager to see moris over and over? Even the ones I like I don't need to see over and over.
-
I did wonder why every man and his dog was using flashbangs all of a sudden. I noticed a huge uptick in my games. I guess this is why?
-
Nurse. I know she is a forced to be reckoned with but I just don't see how people get there. I find myself looking at my feet 90% of the match. I've been playing this game for several years now, I only have three achievements left and one of them is "In the void she walks" I'm 73/500. Shows how bad I am.
Another is Pinhead. When he came out I even said I would main him and I did for a while. After seeing how painful he can be to go against in SoloQ I just can't bring myself to enjoy him anymore. I rarely play him now.

What do you mean by "Bring back"? We never had it.

I completely agree… as a console player, Dracula is the only killer I can think of where I struggle with him no matter what build I use and what strategy I employ, even against not very good survivors.
Dracula's problem is everything he does requires precision, in the same veins as Nurse, Billy, and Blight... and a God Billy, a God Blight or a God Nurse is nigh unbeatable, and Dracula is in that same camp. However… he is also punished harder than they are for mistakes. If he misses at any point, he simply isn't gonna be able to get a hit by other means, his recovery means 90% of the time, he isn't gonna get an m1, and his cooldown means that he must switch form. Basically it's hit or bust for Dracula.
This means if you have that precision, he is extremely strong and kinda impossible to deal with… if he doesn't, he kinda gets run over… and of course me being the scrub that I am, can't hit sod all xD
I enjoy playing Dracula but I usually don't even bother with bat form. I just find it way too janky on controller.
-
The have gone cheap. I think the days of 100% are gone. It's usually 25% or 50% (on the rare occasion) now. Been like this for a little while now. Chaos Shuffle has had zilch!

Get matched against the same slugging Pinhead twice in a row. Like come on. Why are some of y'all SO determined to be as miserable as possible? And for those who'll come in and say they're just using it as a strategy or some other nonsense, no they aren't. Obviously I can't show it here, but their username was a taunt that made it 100% clear they're doing this to annoy everyone.
I'm so done playing survivor during events. Sick and tired of being treated as a prop to be pushed around by disgruntled killers.
That sucks. Please don't take this as me trying to justify this in any way, I'm just curious. It looks like all gens were done and the killer didn't hook once. Were they slugging all match like this or did they just go postal at the end?
-
"All the suicidal players are causing a fundamental shift in my perspective from "DBD is my favorite thing on the planet" to "DBD is a small hobby I touch once every few weeks to get the rewards and that's about it.""
I think this is the way to go to be honest. When I started playing back in 2021 I played this game every day for many hours a day. For the last year or so I've had to cut back on how much I play due to life commitments and it's the best thing ever. I play a few hours every couple of days ( I sometimes take a week or two off too) and I still enjoy the game and don't have the burnout/hatred most seem to have around here. If I still played at the levels I used to I would probably would hate DBD too.

I’ve never bought into the “DbD is dying” train but honestly I think this game is gonna kick the bucket in a year or two if they don’t reverse course a little. It’s wild how many people on these forums don’t see how bad the survivor experience has become.
They somehow see survivors giving up en masse and think it’s a problem of “survivor entitlement” or a conspiracy to “inflate kill rates”. In reality, the majority of survivors are not bad or entitled people, nor are they part of some ridiculous anti-killer conspiracy. They just aren’t having fun and have independently came to the same conclusion that games aren’t worth playing out anymore. And if that isn’t a sign that the survivor experience needs looking into, I don’t know what is.
"It’s wild how many people on these forums don’t see how bad the survivor experience has become."
Or it's just a case we have different experiences. I do think there are some changes in order for the survivor side to make it a little more of a pleasant experience but I just don't experience the constant miserable experiences some people are claiming. Maybe I have a higher tolerance, maybe I'm lucky, maybe it's because I don't play to burn out like some around her. I don't know. It's just not my experience.
I don't think it's entitlement (for the most part) or some conspiracy either but I think there are a number of players that want an extremely casual experience. They just want to play on autopilot and turn their brain off. Not that I'm advocating for comp levels of sweat but I do worry that the devs seem to be leaning into this "Autopilot style" of gameplay and and that would make a boring game.

No no, apparently they are just turning off their console for the day and they just cannot wait the few seconds for the death animation to end as that few seconds is just so important (according to the replies above lmao).
Yeah it is clearly to tell the killer they are unhappy but it's completely self defeating and every life streaming killer I see who has this happen is confused rather than seeing it as somehow negatively affecting them
I'm sure a fair bit are rage quits but you can't always know that's what they are doing. I had a game a couple of days ago where the game just totally crashed on me because my laptop overheated. This happened while I was on my second hook. The killer had tunneled me too.
No doubt everyone in that match assume I had quit in a rage.
-
Fight fire with fire. I love aura perks on both sides.
For survivor I run Wicked, Kindred, Eyes of Belmont & Inner Focus. Gives me a good read on the killer for most of the match.

Isn’t the lore that the Entity created the game of DBD and enlisted killers to get sacrifices to feed its endless hunger? Whether by hook or mori, the killer does their job. Survivors failing to escape before the EGC finishes have the Entity take them directly. But a bleed-out gets nothing for the Entity, or any player – so in the heartless and unforgiving world of the Entity, isn’t a punishment for the killer appropriate?
From a survivor perspective, being in a 4x slug, or a late game 1x slug while the killer seeks the 4k currently means the end of any meaningful game-play, no points, with only a miniscule chance of crawling to an open hatch. That’s a rough equivalent to if Killers could be blocked from entering the gate for 3+ minutes while being tea-bagged.
So suggestion: If a survivor is slugged past one minute cumulative in the match, their crawling speed increases by 8%, past 2 minutes another 8%, the final minute they can crawl at 24% faster than base, or full Tenacity. If they bleed out, the Entity takes 500 BP from the killer and gives them to the survivor to reward them for evading a sacrifice. Now survivors have one final objective they can shoot for, a last defiance of the killer to make things interesting to the very end.
For killers, to end the end-game hide-and-seek, if a non-dying survivor fails to advance the game by NOT doing at least 20(negotiable here) charges on gen repair, healing or evading chase in a 4-minute period at any point in the match, there is a 30 second countdown to one bird circling, then 30 more to two birds, then 3 birds who do not go away until one of those actions is performed, which then resets the timer.
I do recall I was going for a adept and I slugged to chase the other survivor. Once I hooked them I couldn't find the survivor I slugged and they bled out. I didn't get the adapt. Can't recall if that was before or after they changed the adapt requirements for killer though.
Was a punishment for me.

@smurf said:
That might be it. There are some killers who will give hatch to people they know were contributing to the match, but take others out who they think weren't contributing. I know if I have a 2v1, I'll spend some time checking whether one of the survivors is hiding and not doing gens while the other one still tries. If one of them is on gens, and no other gens progress for a while, I'll go hunt for the hiding one.
And some killers will assume that if they haven't seen someone during a whole match, that person must not have been doing anything useful. I won't do that since that survivor could have done gens, gone for saves, cleansed totems, etc. Admittedly, I would expect all survivors to at least try to take chase if their whole team got to death hook though. But it sounds like that's what happened, the killer didn't think you did enough for the team. …That or they thought Lara's outfit was fun.
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
Yeah as smurf said, if you are hiding and not progressing the match that is extremely irritating for the killer and just drags out a match that is already over.
If I am playing killer and the last two are hiding, I will definitely let the one go that I keep finding as they are at least trying.
Killers don't like it when you constantly hide, especially when the match is pretty much over.
Wish I had more killers aware like this. I can’t be arsed playing hide and seek and will sit on a gen until I get found. Usually I still get the hook and the rat gets hatch.

At least in my region (US eastern time zone), I have instant killer queues any time after 5:00 PM all through the night, so that's telling me that there is still an excess of survivor players, at least during that time period. During the daytime, survivor queue times are usually longer than killer queue times, but killer queue times are still nowhere near as long as survivor queue times during the peak evening hours. I sure don't see any evidence that "nobody wants to play survivor", and I'd be willing to bet that a majority of the overall player base plays survivor either a majority of the time or 100% of the time.
That's really interesting. It's the opposite for me. During the day survivor queues are instant and killer takes bit. Come night and it swaps. East coast US.

Sure you can criticize them for not being transparent or maybe even agreeing to a collab that isn't available in all regionss but I still don't think it is a Bhvr decision. If it was them and they had an issue with China why would 90% of their other content be available there?

your question is clearly off topic because if you look closely it sounds like "can I play against solo survs due to skill issues". author of the post clearly indicates that the problem is with the nurse
How is it off topic? The OP stated that the nurse should never be match with solo players.
I'll make it more clear for you. As a player that is 80% survivor and 100% solo I have no issue being matched with Nurse. A good deal of the ones I see are average or below. So why should they only be matched against SWF teams?
-
What about all the crap Nurses, such as myself?
-
While I don't take issue with this like the OP does I'm not a big fan of the "force them out" retort. They want you to do that just so you can see their butt dance. I won't give them the satisfaction. I'm quite happy to walk around letting them waste time doing their dancing that I'll never see.
It would be funny if there was a "yeet action" If all survivors are in the exit area the killer can press a button an all survivors get flung out the exit.

You'll find the dev update under Game Info. The patch notes themselves will appear in, well, the patch notes section.
Thank you. I thought that was just info about how to play the game so I never looked there. Silly me!

I may not post on these forums much or been here long but I have been playing since 2021 and reading the forums since then and can recall this claim was even made back then. I don't really see any evidence that more people are leaving/ taking a break more than ever.

you can say the same about survivors who go next on hook and be correct. BUT, why is giving up on hook considered completely okay, while for killer it is "DC or have your time wasted"? None should be allowed, but such a loud part of community is literally defending giving up on hook while acting that killer players having hard time should just...cope with it
I'm not a big fan of either side just being able to give up just because things aren't going their way. They need to address giving up on hook. Not sure how.
I understand there are times when you just want it over. Had a game last night where no matter where I picked up the survivors got in a flashlight save. I did get very frustrated and I did want the match to end but I still don't think that option should be there.
-
Where is the best place to read about updates besides Twitter.. Since I left Twitter I find it difficult to find DBD news all in one place.
-
When did you last try? I’ve had the same issue for the last 2 days. When I tried to purchase the page would just get stuck and then I would get a message that the transaction could not be complete and to try later. I would try again and get a message saying that I already have a purchase in process and would need to wait. I was trying multiple times over the last two days. Tried again this morning and it worked! No idea what the issue was.

Jeff and Vittorio get some love, way more than Jonah, but it's like the Artist (the linked killer of Jonah) her name is "the artist" but barely get any skin
The problem is, the more you get new character, the less they can get new skin, more love, and since, a lot of the old one get practically one new skin each rift or with some new skin… We have to wait
The thing I want, for the male survivor, is… More beard, more type of different beard, but just, more beard, for Jonah, for Felix, for David, everyoneAs someone who is a Jonah main I actually think his release of skins haven’t been too bad. He’s had a steady flow of skins for a male survivor. Considering people love to claim he’s so much hated and no one played him. Sure I’m biased and would always love to see more skins.
