His M2 Vine attack is too fast to dodge if he places it on top of you
No power would ever work, if you could dodge even tho killer played it perfectly. That would be kinda useless…

Bro, I used to main Ghostface too. It has nothing to do with my playstyle; it probably seems easy to you because you're playing at a low MMR. I know a lot of tactics and builds for Ghostface, and I've watched all the guides. But you'll understand when you reach a high MMR. People don't make mistakes, so mindgames generally take a backseat to abilities. Maybe I exaggerated by saying it's the worst, but don't you think it's lagging behind the newer assassins? Absolutely.
It's so cute how everyone think they are in high MMR…
If you are losing with him, you are not in high MMR, because it means you are losing MMR. Simple as that.If you are in high MMR with a Ghostface, then maybe he is not as bad as you claim, because for that you have to win a lot.

So we've entered the "he's Nurse but that's a good thing" phase?
He is pretty similar to Nurse for sure, but I think he is weaker than her.
Point is, if DBD players didn't manage to learn Nurse to level where her kill rate is above everyone else, it's unlikely to happen with The First.

Yea im really shocked people aren't figuring this out yet. They're going to hate him within a week or two.
I would say both options are possible.
Either Henry players become good and demolish everything, which is unlikely considering it didn't happen with Nurse…
Or survivors learn how to play against him and we will have The Harmless situation again. Most realistic is same outcome as any high skill ceiling killers. Some players are going to dominate their lobbies, but majority of player base struggling to make them work.

But thats not killer mentality.
Well, I would say The First should have bit higher, Unknown bit shorter CD.
Unknown is not really good target to balance around. He was also considered to be very strong on release and now he is The Harmless.
The First is definetly strong, but he is going to fall off a bit once survivors learn how to play against him. -

if you just never miss, Unknown is fine. so technically he's fine in a vacuum...
id like to touch up on him in some other aspects to help him do his job, like shrinking his TR. seriously, why is he normal TR? dbd 2026 is pre run simulator, featuring Finesse and SB. Cooldowns won't help you with that.
if you just never miss, Unknown is fine. so technically he's fine in a vacuum...
Thing is, if you never miss, Unknown is fine. But if you never miss as Vecna, then he is broken.
Neither of those are really possible anyway. But even at best play, Unknown gets to just "fine" level. It's also so much easier to lose your progress with Unknown. Vecna doesn't have that. His tokens stay forever and his window to injure/down survivors is way bigger.
-
Not sure I would call her state playable…
I am not playing her with current stealth.
-
Lowering your FPS doesn't sound as good skill expression…
-
Recently I have played all of those to get their achievements and most frustrating was probably Houndmaster for me, but Twins are close.
Yeah, Nurse is also buggy, but it never costed me a game…
-
So I went and tried it.
He can't cancel mid leap, but he can still fully cancel the slide. So it doesn't really do that much.
You can double back, if he would leap right next to you, or in front of you as survivor. But if he leaps behind you and just use slide to end whenever he wants, the outcome is same.
I hope they actually fixed hits through walls, but that will need more time to test.

I knew what he meant. That's why I said 1% slower than a survivor while HOLDING his power? He LOSES distance then.
He loses distance only if survivor holds W in straight line away from him. Sure, if I see survivor who doesn't even look behind them I will use the power.
But most survivors start to dodge when they hear the sound. At that point they are the one losing distance.
If he needs something nerfed, it's the movement speed while holding his power. Not really cooldown, you want killers to commit to their power. Zoning by holding power is most boring thing you can have. -
Only change I would like to see is to make clock more relevant. Right now it kinda seems as waste of time to be honest.
Otherwise I really enjoyed playing against him today.
btw if you have problem playing against him, try Overcome. I have tried it and played against it, he can as well drop the chase after the injury unless he has underworld power.

You can dodge his power? It requires sound ques. I do it all of the time. I just don't like being spammed 40 times in less than 55 seconds. Its obnoxious and unfun. His big power attack? Watch the center. As soon as it stops, go in whatever direction has less of the circle. You'll escape it every time unless you're hindered. I promise you. I've done it just about every time so far. Its the power spam.
Zoning works only if you cannot dodge the attack. His power gives you JUST enough time to do so if you really pay attention, but the continous spam will cause you to make a mistake and its just mentally draining constantly watching the ground for an attack that you know is coming. If you can get zoned by HIM, then I don't know. I haven't had that problem so far. I just don't like dodging 40 attacks in 50 seconds.
I don't think you understand what he means by zoning.
What do you think will happen, when you increase his cooldown? Killers simply won't commit on using it, they will just hold their power until you get close to them.
I will much rather play mind games against him every 1,5 seconds than just being walked down like a dog. I was personally enjoying games against him a lot…
-
What's your ping/killer's you play against?
It seems to be pretty easy to get out of unless you got mind gamed and run into it.
It becomes weird to dodge only with high ping. -

Just nerfing her cooldown and that addon wouldn‘t be enough tho. She would still be way too overtuned
Hiding survivor aura for her would secure her counterplay to be viable in all cases, which would help survivors a lot, if they know what to do.
Nerfing her teleport speed along her lunge would be overnerf, because long range blinks would kinda require survivor to run into you. That's something that would make her "feel" worse to play, which is never a good thing to do.
It would also make hold W so much stronger against her, which is kinda cheap "fix".Cooldown, lunge addon and hiding survivor aura would be enough to bring her down a bit. It's not like there is need to nerf her into C tier. She can still be one of best killers in DBD, just nerf her crutches.
-
@Elan said:
Nurse only needs removal of her lunge add on, because it makes precise blinks non-existing. A lot of mid to bad nurses missed a lot from poor blinks but with this add on the skill went massively down. Auras are fine imo, better than fully stacked slowdown on already overtuned killer.
Auras are fine imo, better than fully stacked slowdown on already overtuned killer.
Issue is whole counterplay against Nurse is trying to predict and break LoS, which is just not possible when she can see you.
If you make her unable to see it while charging, she will still use information perks, just not chase type.
Spirit, or Knight don't see survivor aura with their power, yet they still use info perks. There is no reason for it to be different with Nurse. -
You would have to give Shattered Hope an effect that will make it usefull even without survivors using any boon.
Most killers can't really afford to bring useless perk. -

I'm confused as to how these two perks synergize with one another. Can you kindly explain that to me?
OoO reveals your aura to the killer every 30 seconds. That gives you token for We see you and you see the killer.
When you have 4 tokens, all survivors are going to see the killer for 15 seconds, which can be devastating especially for killers without mobility. -
The lundge after her blink could be made shorter, so she has to be more precise.
Just rework the addon for it. Base range is fine imo.
Slightly higher cooldown is fine, but I wouldn't touch speed of her blink. That's something that can make her useless very quickly, especially if you also want to nerf her lunge…
I would personally just want to rework her lunge addon and make it so she can't see survivor aura while charging the blink.
-
He is one of worst killers in DBD, not sure if the worst killer. There are some other valid contestants.
I personally enjoy playing Ghostface, but you can't really play him as standard M1 killer. Just chasing whoever you find will end bad for you. Just go watch some guides.
You should really try to use PWYF on him, but you also need to play around that and know how to use it properly.
Ghostface is not really that easy killer, even tho he might look like it.
-
It did on PTB, I am definetly going to try this and I expect to be not popular with killers.
So I guess other 2 perks should be something to make it so killers don't want to commit on me…
It also works with key addon to reveal your aura.
-
I don't like it's gen regression events, not kicks.
I used to really like Eruption, Surge but that's just very bad now, because you will hit the limit basically every game.
-
Several things you mentioned were better for SWF anyway and it's kinda cheap trying to hide them behind soloQ.
Instead of keeping things that don't really help soloQ, ask for things that will do. I really want the chat wheel…

So, in Chaos Shuffle, what is the actual counter to a killer who decides to tunnel you out immediately after an unhook, injured, useless perks, dead zones, zero protection?
Not “learn to play" or “play killer”… If the killer refuses to drop chase and just wants you gone, what exactly are you supposed to do?
You personally? Not much, just loop best you can and try to stealth if you are on dead hook.
Usually it's more about your teammates to take a hit for you if needed.
Otherwise just don't heal under the hook and don't unhook early. -

If you don't know how to handle the killer, best way is to go and play the killer. Sooner or later you will find survivor who will know what to do and then you just copy it in your games.
-
Yeah, that's huge overbuff for killer who doesn't need it.
I have dropped him as my main after his flick changes, simply because it's not interesting for me anymore. It's slightly worse and way easier to do….
But his power level overall is still pretty high, so I don't think he needs buffs.
-
You can't really do much, DBD is one of least noob friendly games.
You need a lot of knowledge, it's very grindy and also expensive if you consider amount of DLCs we have….My sister tried to play DBD, but I told her it's bad idea. It's not like I could play with her without creating new account (like hell I would want to play from start). We have played 4 games and kinda bad for her to deal with killers who have thousands of hours.
What can work, is basically suggest them a build that will make the game easiest as possible. Issue is it needs few DLCs. Most noob friendly build on survivors would be something like Overcome, Self-care, Botany, Windows of Opportunity.
New players don't like to stay injured and Self-care alone is bad, Overcome lets you have good chase even if you don't know how to loop, WoO at least gives them chance to loop and follow yellow…
What you need to teach new players asap is power of hold W and prerun. That will let them have decently long chases without any effort. -

Yea they gotta nerf dracula. This killer is too strong imo. The only real counterplay depends on the dracula misplaying. He has to miss. Because he has a tool for almost everything and if he plays perfectly you literally cant do anything besides lithe away for a bit only to get bat form anyway.
The only real counterplay depends on the dracula misplaying. He has to miss.
How is that exactly different to majority of killers with skill shots?
Nurse, PH, Huntress, Dracula, Deathslinger etc. basically any killer with ranged power. What survivors can do is to make them more likely to miss.
I personally enjoy playing against Dracula a lot exactly because he can missplay all of his powers. -
Usually for fun
-
I have feeling players didn't notice they can create infinite undetectable with just calling and recalling same drone…
Don't take me wrong, I think it's horrible change and it made me completely stop playing her, because I can't be bothered to do that.
It's simply a nerf to normal playstyles and doesn't matter if you played ambush, chase, or trap based. It's better only if you are willing to just recycle drone, which doesn't sound as a good design to me. -
I would really like chat wheel, something like mobile version had.

Ngl, Nurse's map mobility sucks. She's just completely insane in chases, and that makes up for it. Plus, she's good at closing gaps.
But she's not much faster than standard 115%, iirc.
Plus, she's good at closing gaps.
Well, that's clearly enough.
Prerun against her also works, but I don't think anywhere close to normal mobility killers. Thing is her route is usually shorter, when she can just go straight through any objects…
Also on multilayer maps she has best mobility in the game.
-
Issue is killers without map mobility kinda lose by default compared to Nurse/Blight.
That's why only mentioned killers here so far are Ghoul, Billy, Dracula, because they have good map mobility. They can also end their chases quickly.
Main reason is hold W, if you get group of survivors who will prerun you, there is not much you can do about it. That's not the case for mentioned killers, who can quickly catch up.
Honourable mention might be Singularity, mainly if you want to hold 3-gen. -
Chat wheel with some basic callouts like mobile dbd had it.
-
Variety of skins and overall look. I play Dead by Fashion.
-
Oh right, because survivors wouldn't report simply in every game they died…

I'm sorry, I didn't realize fog vials were holding games hostage for 2 hours until the server shut down matches over the course of months.
No, they just disabled chase mechanic (annoying bug) and pretty much free chase drop multiple times per game.
I think they over nerfed them, but they needed nerf. I think limiting charges was all they needed to do.
hostage for 2 hours until the server shut down matches over the course of months
Doesn't really work for Skully 2.0
-
You almost never need to start your game with plan to tunnel.
If you have strong build, or killer, then you can get away most games with spreading hooks and you just kill someone, if you happen to find them without caring much about it.
On higher gens, I usually either drop chase, or slug them if they are dead on hook. Yes, it backfired me few times…Sometimes you have games, where you can either tunnel someone, or lose. You simply need to remove survivors at some point in order to win. Endgame against 4 survivors is unrealistic to win for most killers.

It is a Problem, even for people with a lot of hours, but even more so for new players. The only viable solution I can think of could be to bring the system over from 2vs8 that gives you a status icon when you are revealed. It would be fine to buff Aura perks as compensation, so they don't become garbage.
You won't be really able to buff them simply because how this change would affect different killers.
Is Nurse, or Blight going to care if you also know about their information? Not really
But there is no way you can balance them for normal speed killers, suddenly information perk becomes hindrance, because it will make survivors prerun you.It is a Problem, even for people with a lot of hours, but even more so for new players.
Few false reports is not really reason to nerf killers. It's not like they ban any player that gets reported.

The problem is, playing the new survivor doesnt really do anything, maybe new voice lines but thats about it.
Compare that to killer and its not a competition.
Sure the killer perks are not the best, but they get a much bigger incentive and content than survivor ever do.
Which is why it hits 10x harder if they dont even get decent perks.
Well, system of survivors being just skin is from start of the game. Nothing really new.
I would say playing against new killers is a thing on it's own. I personally really enjoy playing against Dracula and Springtrap, but hey you also have situation where new killer is Krasue, or Ghoul and that's time for a break.

Since Nurse is one of my mains, your ad hominem doesn't work here. Nurse is usually dodged around corners and small objects with weird collisions, to trigger her auto-aim to hit the wall or to make her blink not pass through the rubble, which is not a thing for the Nurse 2. She takes up to 3 long charged blinks with fatigue to go to the opposite side of the map, which is very long, while Nurse 2's traversal is literally the best in the whole game, it's like chainsaw sprint without steering around objects, with a guaranteed hit on a survivor at the end.
Since Nurse is one of my mains, your ad hominem doesn't work here.
Doesn't mean you are good Nurse player…
He has mobility basically only outside of chase with high cooldown. If survivors gain distance with exhaustion perks, or you simply misplay few attacks, The First is in trouble.
Nurse can get that distance back quickly. -

And i still completely agree with OP.
Survivors got absolutely trash perk selections since taurie, and she only had shoulder, the rest didnt do anything useful.
Vee's perks are mid (1234) to trash (roadlife)
Lara gave Finesse...but also gave complete trash, (hardend and specialist )
Orela adds more healing perks that the game doesnt really need (do no harm) to trash (rapid response, duty of care) (duty is trash because half the roaster can ignore the bodyblock with their power)
Astri had only trash perks.
Trevor had also meh (Eyes of belmoth) to trash (exhultation and moment of glory)
Twd had 5 trash perks and 1 decent perk...which got nerfed.
And now again with ST, 5 trash perks with 1 meh perk (rip-off chem trap for windows..., aka bada bada boom)
Its either not useful enough to bother useful or extremely boring to use when it is decent.
Survivors got absolutely trash perk selections since taurie
You act like killer get regularly meta perks…
But I would say current PTB has great perks for both sides.
And not sure whan you are on about bad perks since taurie.Duty of care is great if you build around it.
Conviction was kinda broken was some time (with Plot Twist) and it's still a good perk.
One-two-three-four is also very good perk. Especially when you have someone with Bardic Inspiration.
Rick has bad perks...So what about killers?
Krasue has mostly trash perks. Probably best is Ravenous, which is still not good and usable for like 4 killers.
Springtrap has Phantom fear, which is decent info perk, rest is bad.
Ghoul has completely trash perks.
Hountmaster has Compass, which is good if you want full build around it. Rest is bad.
Dracula has all bad.
Lich used to have 2 decent perks, now all irrelevant perks. -
@Junylar said:
Hitting his ability is easier than landing Nurse hits against dodging survivors. He also has better map traversal than Nurse. If Nurse is OP in your opinion, then this is double OP. If the player knows how to click on survivors, every game for them will be just a shooting range with a beer can in one hand
I have feeling you have never played Nurse and probably neither The First , if you think she has it harder and worse map traversal…
Correction blink is a thing and even her "missed" power gets her closer to survivor, unless she overblinks like crazy.
The First is hold W simulator and there is not much he can do about it.He also has limited timeframe to even deal damage with his power.
It's funny how anyone can be so out of touch to think he is anywhere near power level of Nurse. -
I am sadly collector, so I even bought the huntmaster even tho I refuse to ever play her.
His perks are quite good, so that's kinda good enough reason to buy him and I definetly want survivors too, so DLC it is.
-
Nah, to make it balanced, you learn it by playing the killer you want to ban…
-
Well, they just wanted to make him strong and very noob friendly. So as many players as possible play him.
That's why he has autoaim, can easily walk around between leaps, cancel his leap at any point, low fatigue and it can vault.
It's very difficult to missplay his leap.
