Except, Oni mains couldn't enjoy that.
PC Oni mains could, but everyone else was out of luck.
I have yet to see console Oni main…
Now everyone is out of luck, what exactly improved here?

Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss ass posts
Look at your first comment and do some self reflection. You seem to lack in that aspect.

Before McLean left the company he made Blight playable on console, but they also doubled the sensitivity with a controller and stated that was the furthest they could go.
I highly doubt it was impossible to let console turn camera more for it. This was just easier, but doesn't change the fact it sucks for Oni mains and doesn't improve anything.
I am looking forward next survivor complaining there are too many Blights.

He claimed Oni will be changed if he needs it
Alright you are one of those people, I see.
Even if you add hope to it, it still falls under naive person.
He hopes for something that is not going to happen.
Another message is he will get buffs if he is underperforming. Well, he already is underperforming by everyone who can't flick…. -

Can we stop this "its a tech when I use it, an exploit when you do" tribalism in the community? Regardless of how any of us feel about flicks and/or how intentional they are/were, it is a fact that skill expression is hurt by this change, and on a killer who was not even top tier (let alone being so due to the tech specifically.) People stating that Oni's skill expression was reduced by this change are not wrong, as there is nothing about this change that would give him more potential, only less.
This is all before getting into any type of talk about how/when glitches (and even outright exploits) become intentional mechanics after the fact, ranging from combos in fighting games to rocket jumping or bunny hopping in various FPS to looping in this very game. Call everything unintentional an exploit even when it benefits you, or reserve the term for things that actually break the game like OoB/unreachable locations. Or even bugs (that have since been patched thankfully) like clipping into lockers or backpack nurse before the m2 change to her blink attack.
This post is neither for nor against the removal of Oni's flick. That said I do think it should come with compensatory buffs that help high skilled play, as skill expression is something this game desperately needs more of in general. Maybe someday.
This is all before getting into any type of talk about how/when glitches (and even outright exploits) become intentional mechanics
Funny how Knight's exploit used by survivors become a feature.
To increase skill expression, they simply needed to increase console sensitivity, I think they did it with Billy rework. (at least what I heard from console player)
Oni was simply reverse Billy, he could change direction a lot after the dash instead at start, not like it was game breaking or whithout counterplay…
RIP Oni -

That doesn't answer my question.
I quoted his message, exact line. What do you not understand about it?
He claimed Oni will be changed if he needs it. I say it's naive and he will not get any change for a long time.
People here claim it's good so he is not PC only killer, but he is still not good for console anyway. He will just be equally bad for everyone and boring. That seems as terrible change to me. -

My main issue was his naive idea, he will actually be changed for it
I'm interested where you read that. He never said that.
If Oni needs help I hope he'll get something in exchange
Console clearly needs help with Oni, so why he wasn't changed along with this nerf?
-
Yeah, went to PTB to try it. That's just bad…
Well, luckily Blight stay and can flick to some extent.

@Pulsar said:
If a Killer is only good because of a "tech" that only a minority of players are able to do, then that should be changed.
Having PC exclusive features is dumb.
I would get behind it, if they actually changed something else for him along with it. But they didn't…
He is just worse and less fun for Oni mains, because those could use flick. Players who already didn't play Oni are not going to play him anyway. -

That's not even what he said. How do you interpret that into his post?
My main issue was his naive idea, he will actually be changed for it, he won't be.
This change is not going to get any new players on Oni, only remove PC players who played for flick, which I expect is majority (including myself).
So it's just worse for the killer no matter what.
-

He won't be suddenly better for console, he is exactly same. Just worse for PC too…
It's funny you think he will get something in exchange. -
My guess is not that much. I would guess around 20-25
-
I really like the killer, sadly not really any new perk to use.
-
True, it's very easy to just dodge tail on reaction now and Xeno can't flick to counter it.
It's just pathetic it's better for you to let flamethrower get you out of the tunnel and go into tunnel, because it's just way faster. It doesn't matter how good xeno player are you, you will always be forced out of the power, which is just terrible design imo.

Then simply make it so the challenges trigger anyway, and this form of escape counts for the cheevo. Problem solved.
Nobody wants to watch sore winners rub salt in the wounds for 2 minutes, it's the exact same as Killers shuffling over four downed Survivors for four minutes, the same exact intent. I'm sick of pretending it's not.How do you want to trigger unhook X survivors during EGC for example?

Pretty sure there hasn't been a way to bypass the max turn rate in a while.
Oni can, Blight can't
But still getting the maximum flick and control it is way easier on PC than on console, no?
-
That sounds as a massive nerf and would most likely become more buggy than Huntmaster.

Killers should be able to surrender after 6 minutes into the match, period. With no additional requirement. The requirements coming in the update should be additional (all survs are bots, etc.) requirements that override the 6 minute minimum. Just give survivors the escape points, emblems, achievements, etc. And a few extra Boldness BP from the Killer surrendering.
Survivors should be the ones to have the option to surrender after 10 minutes and no gen is done, 3 out of 4 are slugged (i think 3 slugs should be enough for the surrender option to appear), etc.
Identity V has a similar system in place. A simple time minimum to surrender for the Killer, regardless how many gens are done or survivors are alive. And survivors can give up as well if there's 2 left.
There is no need to be League of legends and give up every game it doesn't look good for you…
Surrender option should be only for edge cases imo.

There are a lot better perks for healing than COH, that allow faster healing without much effort.
It is also worse than calm spirit in soloq, which is ….
What perks are better for whole team?
-
@Langweilig said:
I personally would want them to bring back the self care part at 45% for all survivors inside the boon, but killers get shattered hope basekit. That way killers have decent counterplay against boons and they can become strong perks.
Issue is such a drastic change makes sense only for CoH… Other boons are not and can't really be good enough for this.

In what world. COH is trash as ####.
It desperately needs a buff and not just a minor one.
It's very good for SWF. There is not a better perk to use against 3-gen killer.
-
I wonder if it is MMR/Server/time factor, but I don't really see that many cheaters, but it's not like I haven't seen any in last months.
Also they usually target streamers, so that might be it...

To be honest not sure anymore. Haven't played in years now but iirc there were dailies and tome challenges where the killer would need to down/hit all 4 survivors with their powers.
Also achievements like adapt or evil incarnate (thanks @UndeddJester, it's all cool 😜) get ruined all the time by go next mentality, or at least that was the case when I played, I know they changed killer adapt in some form.
Adepts need to kill, so it doesn't apply anymore.
Evil Incarnate, you are not going to hook anyway for it and survivors going into lockers is simply logical counterplay, not really petty way to ruin achievement.
-

Strange, it never has been a real problem when survivor ruined killer challenges or achievements by early hook exits. /S
I consider that a problem… They are trying to work on "go next" feature.
BTW what challenge does it ruin anyway, if 1 survivors give up?

Preferably when surrender option is used in general, it just results in bots. It would ALSO suck if the game ended right before a killer could finish a mori challenge or something.
Well, it will never end for the killer, because survivors do get replaced and it is up to the killer to keep playing or leave, right?
When killer DC/surrenders the game just ends. But I really wouldn't want killer bots. It would be just boring imo.

Thanks for actually admitting killers have the game completely in their favor.
Whether it is a nerf or buff, it is obvious killers need nerfed all in general.
Not really, most players are not good and those who are good usually don't use 4 slowdowns…
Good SWF is also going to clear the floor with most killers. The game balance is same as always was.
it is obvious killers need nerfed all in general.
Well, they are going to bring anti- everything features to fix skill issues… But doubt it will help that much.
Also doesn't change the fact that currently Xeno has below 50% kill rate and 5th lowest pick rate. So nerf to that specific killer simply doesn't make sense. It's another nerf "survivors don't like it".
-
@mecca said:
Oh no. They are adding the slightest fraction of counterplay, what will killers do?
Xeno players that are good, using the same oppressive builds will still be 4King all their matches.
If you didn't notice most good killers with slowdown perks are going to 4k their matches. What an argument…
Doesn't change the fact that Xeno has one of worst both kill rates and pick rates, which is not that easy to get. Doesn't sound as something to nerf imo.
Turrents were already a counterplay if you knew what you are doing, this is just trying to fix skill issue by survivors, who don't know where to put them.
-
Issue is there are survivor challenges that need EGC activated and it would be very annoying if killer could just surrender at any point.
I don't think surrender mechanic should be able to hinder with challenges. This definetly would unless they bring killer bots, but that would be boring.
-
It's quite a big deal at least for Skully and Pig. Simply because their stealth is not good to have all the time on(pig), or it can't be used all the time (skully).
Which means, you can use Whispers and use stealth before survivors hear your TR.
-
Deathslinger would like to have a word (also considering mending nerf)
-
Still same, survivors have 25% bonus yet have longer queue times by 1-2 minutes.
Seems like most people affected are from EU. -
Especially fatigue buff makes it worth imo.
-
This seems as another change, where killer wasn't really too strong, but survivors simply didn't enjoy playing against him.
-
Legion is going to be worse overall in terms of mending.
Lower fatigue will be nice for sure.
-
@Langweilig said:
Knockout is buffed not nerfed (but they remove its old effect)
It's reworked and new version is not really good…

Yeah, Xeno is already not performing well with low pick rate and I consider those changes a nerf overall.
Also still didn't fix the issue with chests.

Do you have to get an injure though? I know a single Trickster knife is enough to apply 3rd seal.
hmm, didn't know that.
I don't consider blidness to be good anyway,, especially on hex, so still wouldn't use it.

Unless the nerfs changed something I missed, Merchant drones apply 3rd Seal.
Yeah, the fact that you are never going to injure survivors with drones. It's huge waste of time trying to go for it.
It's never going to work outside of chase anymore and any decent survivor will force you to M1 over taking hit by drones even if you somehow get there.
Also Blidness is not really a big deal anyway imo.

A lot of people on both sides seem to be split as to what's more problematic, hemorrhage or Mangled but I personally thought Mangled was so incredibly boring. At least hemorrhages slowdown only applies if you successfully interrupt a heal.
Issue is on some maps it was very easy to find survivors with Nurse's calling and just keep interrupting them over and over agian, which was definetly very annoying thing to play against.

spam her drones to stay as undetectable as possibleDon't you mean Face the Darkness instead of Third Seal? Would make more sense.
There are better killers for such a build anyway tho. Just use Sadako.
-
Do you remember good old "Machete man"? That's how.
You have to use STBFL and brutal/fire up, then whatever else you want and spam drones for undetectable. All hits/down will be with M1.
Don't even try to get tags, or use them in advance in loops, it's pointless. Survivors are never going to run into them and they are simply useless at loops too, when it doesn't even detect fast vaults (truly pathetic). It's just waste of time to use them for this.
-
I don't really see a reason to change either of them. Especially Plague.
-
@100PercentBPMain said:
They really need to undo that unwarranted hemorrhage nerf
What's a person got to do to get some consistent hemorrhaging?
I kinda get why they did it, not really why they also nerfed Mangled too.
-
Basically only killer who can do it good enough is Wraith…
It's not really viable after Sloppy nerf for most killers.
-
Tail attack doesn't really feel good to use and you can get screwed up so much by chests. It really feels bad to look around the map just to see your tunnels are mostly useless.
Turrets can be also very annoying if survivors use them well.

Well, it's same on both sides, so seems fair to me.
Devs and most players don't want to add/buff slowdown perks, so kinda only option left for M2 killers are info perks.

They can't address your feedback if you can't explain where the problem lies.
My problem is basically creating a "trade" of removing scamper for more use of his power just to later nerf him several times.
So outcome of changes since original version:
- cooldown starts after dash ends
- cooldown is 2,2 seconds (CD - duration) lower (used to be 6 seconds lower with rework)
- dash is longer, but slower → outcome is worse
- scamper is removed
Which resulted in lowest kill rate in DBD right now (48.96%).

I'd understand your opinion if we could just ban any character, but the system is built around variety. To discourage chronic playstyles, or in the least give survivors an opportunity to face other killers.
Doesn't matter if it is full time or limited. It's still one sided system, which would be used to gain unfair(imo) advantage.
Killers wouldn't ban maps for variety, they would simply ban always same map, which is worst for the killer.
I can't see most survivors using it for variety neither, they would simply ban 1 killer they hate most, or die most.
Maybe system you can turn on/off that would try to give you variety of killers with cost of longer queue times. I personally wouldn't want it, but I bet there is few players who would like to wait. It's definetly not something players should be able to decide themselves and there is no reason for it, if you just want variety.
Issue is with cost of longer queue times, it would be used by minority in my opinion and is not worth dev's time.
