I mean its not jard to stealth and split up, thats just countering corrupt basekit. You're not actually gonna get more pressure before gens are worked on, its just going to take longer for gens to begin to be worked on. That does very slightly benefit setup killers, but otherwise its not enough

It's not hard, but many survivors won't do it any it still wastes time.

You're not actually gonna get more pressure before gens are worked on, its just going to take longer for gens to begin to be worked on

So it takes longer to even start working on gens, but you don't have time to get pressure? How that works…

Also an issue of Kaneki is basically noone is healing and many survivors are using resilience. So it's kinda unique to him and few other killers, then simply result of his kit.

  • Well, those are some next level pointless changes.

Poor grandpa, like he was not nerfed enough.

  • We will see if gen speed is going to be an issue after changed survivor spawning system. That's the main issue in my opinion.

It will likely be in the next PTB, we want to be able to ensure it all works as it should first and let players play with it (and against it), before pushing it live, to give us the opportunity to make any tweaks that are required…just to be completely transparent about it.

Good to know, looking forward to it.

I think current version can be saved, but I agree with others it's simply way too slow at the moment.

What is this "1 frame flick"? You mean when he turned the camera really fast and hit the survivor instantly?

Yes, you needed high DPI for it. It was stronger but kinda more difficult to do. Very similar to PH flick.

  • @tak47888 said:

After investing probably 1k hours in this killer, I tested him today and I must say, he feels like a completely new character. And I don't mean that in a good way. His movement feels way more clunky and the lunge distance of demon strike is way smaller than before, when performing a turn. Overall, I think I will put him beside now, even though he was my main killer for years. RIP Big boi.

Yeah, you definetly get less distance on 180 than before.

Well, at least he is not capped at 90, so could be worse…

  • I think he should get small nerfs, but nothing really major.

    • window between his powers need to be smaller
    • decrease hitbox on tentacle hit
    • maybe slightly reduce movement speed after canceling his power
    • fix hits though walls
  • @Daniel_Silva04 said:

Yes, I play with with controller and it's possible to do 180 normally just by turning the camera.

Well, that's optimal outcome I guess.

Took me few games, but got used to it now. It's slightly worse for me, because it's slower, but I can also adjust it on reaction now.

It seems to me that some players have a strict list of Killers they actually enjoy playing against…

I would like to see that list… I have feeling it is going to be very short.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

Just so far I've found he isn't the most fun to play against, and given the past few updates of nonsense people are probably tired.

I am using Resi and MFT, which makes chases against him quite fun…

Definetly not good time for Finnese, or Dramaturgy.

  • They made it so he is not another PC only killer.

I think that's fine when we consider he can't down survivors.

I am definetly going to play with MFT/Resi for some time.

  • @Blueberry said:

I wish the per killer mmr realistically existed.

Rather than specific values it would be interesting to see standing of your killers basically compared only to your values.

So it can't be really used to compare with other people (not like it would matter), you just see who has highest MMR between your killers.

  • @NarkoTri1er said:

i think he needs to become a 4.4 killer with longer token recharge + a bit more fatigue and he will be fine

They need to nerf his fatigue duration (it’s too fast), his speed addons, and his cooldown. It makes 0 sense why blight can hit u with 2 rushes and only have a 4 second cooldown. It’s actually insulting to the survivors how long him and nurse have been S tier dominating every match they play since their release.

disagree on speed addons tho, i think he should get them partially as basekit. Other changes to him are fine.

The only problems with Nurse are her synergy with aura perks and Heavy Panting addon. Other than that, she is in a pretty fine spot, but honestly, people will still consider her too strong because huge part of survivor playerbase doesn't understand how unique her counterplay is.

So triple nerf killer and he will be fine? That doesn't really work together.

  • I think he was in good spot in 8.4.0
I have no idea why they decided to double nerf him… I would kinda understand if they made dash slower and reduce cooldown, but they made dash slower and increased cooldown. Where is logic in that?

  • Well, unique killers are often not popular. That's why…

Either by killers, survivors, or both.

  • I am looking forward for both changes simply because I am not giving up and I don't use map offerings.
While I am annoyed by both…

Rainbow Six Siege has something like this. Short video clips that show how each operator's gadget works that you can see when selecting them. It's a good feature.

Yeah, I think League of legends have basically same thing, where you can see animation of each power.

They could even bring "Demo" mode Dota has, where you could try ANY killer against 1/2 bots on small map.

  • Cross-play off will match you only with players who also have it turned off. Unless they changed it at some point…

Most PC players have cross-play on.

Ive put a large amount of hours with this build… Don't make an assumption if you havent played the build lol. I literally had a game a few nights ago against a 4man ttv swf 3 of them were p100… 3 of them had syringes and the other had the agent… still got the 4k. In my personal experience and opinion, it is a strong build which is why i said any buff is welcome so long as they keep the stealth drones. and no map has posed an issue for me yet. i even have plenty of success on erie and auto haven.

Comparing true stealth killers to an undetectable build is ignorant and the difference between undetectable and full stealth killers is that while undetectable you can spend the whole chase at full speed without a red stain. Without a stain to read the killers positioning and movement it becomes VERY difficult to loop. Not to mention the info you can get on loop from her drones.

wraith is just a stupid comp because he can't even attack or grab while in stealth and with ghostface once you swing you are no longer in stealth. Not to mention you're going for Exposed with Ghostface. Youre not going to be trying to sneak up and grab or loop without exposed that often at all.

You are wasting perk slots on killer who has stealth from start….

Also highely map dependant. Not going to do much, if survivors have vision around the gen.

Basically the perk that makes the build work is Tinkerer, because it tells you where to get to stop survivors from finishing gens.
If you used Tinkerer, Whispers, Surge, Pain res/corrupt it would be way stronger build.

4 undetectable perks on stealth killer is just wasted.

Saying you won against X don't mean anything, when you can't show how good survivors were and how did you play.

Comparing true stealth killers to an undetectable build is ignorant and the difference between undetectable and full stealth killers is that while undetectable you can spend the whole chase at full speed without a red stain

You really think stealth is going to win you chases when survivor know about you? It's useless when survivors have LoS and red stain can be hidden simply by movement, so stealth in chase only removes skill issue.

and again, Skully just need to use drone for it, no need for any perk…

I should say it partially replaces game sense, or that its replaceable by gamesense, so it only serves to make her easier to play for no reason. I don't like thinking of trap killers like this but most people I see think of hiding traps as part of trap killers, which only works if survivors don't have one person following the killer and comming trap locations, which would only happen in a swf, and stealth is definitely a soloq issue since you cant always see the killer but swfs can always comm their location

it only serves to make her easier to play for no reason

So basically what Doctor and Legion have? It's nothing unique to have power focused on giving information.

It's also not really a big deal with how many information perks we have, where many are actually better than killer's power.

If stealth was such a big deal, you would see way higher kill rates on Ghostface, or Wraith. Which is simply not a reality.

  • @lettuchia said:

"Skull merchant should be a tracking/trap/stealth killer"

So a killer that gives you game sense for free, a killer that only wins by taking advantage of lack of info provided to soloq, or a killer that only wins by taking advantage of lack of info provided to soloq again. Maybe her identity should be taken away, doesn't seem like a good identity to be in the game

    Don't be so dramatic…
It can't really replace game sense, when it still needs survivor to run into drones. Knowing where to place drones is part of game sense too.
It has nothing to do with soloQ, because every survivor can just see them.

SoloQ has their own issue, which should be changed imo, but definetly shouldn't be gatekeeping killers.

  • Even better, there should be short tutorials (video) for every killer.

Display power, say counter play, try to summarize strengths/weaknesses etc.
I don't think it would be that difficult for majority of killers and would help noobies a lot.

  • Not much to do with him now after speed nerf…

I can suggest to play Brutal strenght on him. That's a good perk for Chucky, because if survivor won't drop pallet, you have good chance for hit on most loops.

You can somewhat still do flick around loop by basically looking into the wall and moving to side, which is not that hard with his POV.

Scamper usually works only on survivors holding W, you have chance on straight walls. You can go 90 degrees from window by looking down and holding A/D.

  • True, I started to play her mainly for haste, pallet breaking and undetectable. I like M1 killers and this made her quite viable even without playing chess.

First she lost pallet breaking and they want to remove haste and undetectable too. All while trying to act like they keep her design with lore, like anyone cares about that.

Both of her version were possible to make work, but I guess it's easier to do rework ala Riot (completely new character and only name is same).

  • @TohsakaMine said:

As someone who mains merchant any buff is welcome. Ive come to learn that as long as her drones give undetectable i will have success. Trail, Devotion, Tinkerers, Plaything (or honestly any 4th perk) The full stealth build actually makes her playable to the point where it feels unfair.

It still sounds like merchants rework is still really far away. I dont think theres a date yet (correct me if im wrong) But trickster will be first so my guess will be 4/2- Kaneki —> Mid chapter, Trickster rework —> June/July FNAF—> Mid chapter, Skull merchant rework.

The full stealth build actually makes her playable to the point where it feels unfair.

Works mainly on soloQ and you need map where you can break LoS. If it was actually strong then Ghostface/Wraith would be even stronger than that.

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

I always thought the thing people disliked on both sides was "stationary drones". Like being able to just plop things on generators and loops and not have to worry about it anymore like traps. I figured her drones could be more of an ai minion like zombies roaming around searching for people. While making her get an m2 that makes that big claw feel like a powered claw lol. But that was just an old idea i had.

If you didn't notice, AI in DBD is not working well.

With Huntmaster, Knight and Nemesis AI is often making that part of their power completely useless.

I would definetly prefer drones to be stationary focused on giving me information.

  • My main issue is basically feedback on how skull merchant would be affected with those changes was basically nonexistent in the survey.

I understand they are trying to please survivors with this rework too, but I think killer(Skully) players should be still primary group. Those are the ones who paid for DLC/skins and actually want to see good outcome of this rework.

  • Bad:
    -Skully, Chucky, Xeno changes
yes, I am going to count Xeno, they stil tried to do it

    Good:
    -Dracula, Kaneki design
    -Legion buffs

  • SoloQ: Kindred
    SWF: Shoulder the burden
Killers: Pain resonance (it's not best perk for specific killers)

Aura-reading is a little harsh but maybe a Haste boost would be more appropriate?

I fail to see the reason why it should have any reward other than removing killer's power.

Kinda funny how it started as "a trade" to deny power, but get claw trap. Now survivors are supposed to have aura reading, or haste while also denying her power?

Seems hilarious to remove her haste and give it to survivors.

Either it shouldn't do anything other than denying power, or it should be way more difficult so it's actually likely you fail. Current minigame is super easy, so unless she comes there, you shouldn't fail it.
If it is supposed to have bigger reward, it should be more difficult to do and more risky.

The only one that has similarity you should be comparing is singularity. But even then its still an in between for current SM and Singularity.

Anything else is just a stretch as already listed

Well, noone know how it would actually work. It all depends on amount of fuel and how would you control it.

It may be something similar to Twins rather than iri addon pinhead.

I would guess movement around will be basically slow Dracula's bat and than you have straight dash, which may beweak depends on movement speed, because it gets destroyed if you hit wall. So depends on movement speed of dash and if you can turn to some extent.

My main issue is powers that let you control something while being inactive are not popular for either side (quite the opposite) and they want to give that to one of most hated killers in history of dbd… How could that ever end well?

  • Rather than automatic cancel, I would prefer if they just made it work as overcharge skill check, so you have chance to hit it even while running.

  • @Emeal said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3900647#Comment_3900647

Well yeah, but you can force it on, in a chase still then right?
I think its sounds cool as all hell.

How so? If survivors decide they won't give it to you, there is nothing you can do about it.

Especially with current version where they are not detected even by fast vaults, which is terrible.

You can try to keep switching rotation and hoping survivor will fall for it, but that's just so much work it would need to be Oni level dash to be worth using.

I would much rather see claw trap on disarm in any form, otherwise her tablet seems kinda pointless.

  • For this to work, they would basically need to return original drones, where you got claw trap for disarming drones.

It wouldn't work at all with current claw trap. It's 100% up to survivors if you get it or not and can be easily denied.

  • That sounds very bad.

I wouldn't want either version to go live anyway.

  • @Emeal said:

Actually… @PetTheDoggo what if the Skull merchant had the Dash and not the Drone, what would you feel about that as a conceptional idea at this point?

I suggested that some time ago that I would want drones to work purely as information power and give her some form of classic anti-loop.

I don't want any "take control", or "AI" with drones. Just let them be some stationary beacons to give info.

I have concerns about how the ranged attack manifests - concerns that it could turn into the Pinhead Iri that injures are for sure a valid concern to bring up. But given this is a ways off I'm confident that a healthy middle ground between "pinhead chain but injure" and "basically an m1" can be found.

That's a big benefit of us having a lot of time before this comes out.

    healthy middle ground

    issue is I don't think it's possible…

even bigger issue for me, she would be highly map dependant killer, which I personally hate.

Her proposed changes already contains changes i want to see for her, such as the controllable drones that damages Survivors.

such as the controllable drones that damages Survivors.

By concept it sounds as Twins. One of least popular killers by both sides.

    Or Iri addon Pinhead...

There is no way this would end well for anyone.

  • Yeah, it seemed like someone was trying to create a way for Skully to be even more hated.

And you won't find any sympathy from me, as moving away from the way she is now is only a positive thing in my book and i firmly stand by that regardless of how many Skull Merchant mains downvotes me.

Rather than "anything but current", you should try to think about what new changes would create…

  • @kit_mason said:

Right now: What is skull merchant capable of doing?
Answer: If you get scanned you get a charge except if you get three then you get injured and broken except if youre already injured then you get deep wound also you get hindered also if you get scanned within a few seconds of the drone getting placed she gets haste (haste has no tell btw) also when she places a drone shes undetectable, also if you get scanned she can see you on her radar

With BHVR's suggestion: What is skull merchant capable of doing?

Answer: She places drones and if the drones scan you she can try and fly them into you to injure you, also if you hear a ding don't sprint or she can see you.

Am I not making sense? Clearly the new power is way simpler than the old one.

Am I not making sense? Clearly the new power is way simpler than the old one.

Skully has several effects, but nothing really new. Those effects are already in the game with other killers.

You need to understand only two things in reality.

-she gets stealth after using drone

-bad things happen when you get detected by lasers

Core concept and counterplays are exactly same with rework, but there are more things to it.

-global detection on command is new

-drone being able to suddenly move and instantly injure you is new

    -laser detection is same

-counter play (crouch and disarm) is same

Main issue is, I think this would be hated more than original Skully.

You can think of her as iri addon Pinhead. Depends on how controlling of drone is going to work it can be similar to Twins/Knight.

None of those things are popular and I don't see reason why this should be better.

My core issue is they are trying to turn her into M2 killer and remove undetectable, which are not really things I would want to happen.

  • Red light green light sounds useless. What's the point when survivors can hear it and it's not going to do anything, if survivors are simply on gens….

Information part of her drones don't seem to be much better than current version, so kinda non-existent. Scans area is highly limited and easily visble. Give her back original circle radius, if you want it to be information power.

"Taking control" would be something similar to Pinhead I can imagine. I can see that being hated by survivors more than current drones. There is no way this could end well.

You know, Twins and Knight are such popular killers, right?

  • That rework is not going to end well imo. Indoor maps would be hell on earth for her.

Rather than fast rework, I would prefer good rework…

  • Jeff main here.

I look similar and I like his cosmetics.

  • I am playing lot of soloQ lately and it's decent. But you have to play with Kindred imo to have any decent chance.
    I prefer Kindred over Bond…

I usually play soloQ with something like Lithe, Deja vu, Kindred, OTR and it's quite fun.
