Actually, that sounds pretty okay. A 25 minute timer would be great.

The problem I have with this is that the game is way too easy for survivor. Now hear me out
Survivors have 1 objective, do gens. There are 8 gens on the map, but they only need to do 5. Gens require absolutely no mental capacity to do finish.
Killers, on the other hand, have to kill survivors AND protect gens 8 gens to defend, and upto 12 hooks they need to acheive. Doing one means you fail the other. Survivors don't need to multitask, just brainlessly hold m1.
But this ends up hurting the survivors. The learning curve is massive for survivor, but the skill ceiling is less obvious. It tricks survivors in to playing like ass because they don't need to get better. Why get good at chasing? I'll just sit on a gen. Team is in trouble? My experience as a gen jockey will surely get us out of this mess, proceeds to kill the entire team by getting downed near a hooked survivor.
Now what does these mean for killer? They play against garbage cans that can't figure out how to not get 3 gen'd on a red forest map so now killers play like ass. Then once the killer goes against a mildly competent team of survivors, they get bulldozed because they don't know how to apply pressure because they don't usually need to.
Moral of the story, gen rushing exists and it hurts the game as a whole since it encourages playing badly for the survivors, who inturn, allow a tunneling ghost face to 4k them at 5 gens

Yeah, I originally thought his power was good for snowballing but the more I play him the more I understand just how worthless his power is. You literally get punished for not using it i.e. you lose half your gauge when you m1. You get a 4 second stun after wiffing, canceling your power, running out of power, hitting the same guy twice, you dont more fast enough or for long enough to reach people just at the end of your killer instinct range, you can't see blood, auras, or scratch marks for no reason.
The best he has is """"punishing"""" survivors, which is bs since injurying all the survivors doesn't matter since you still have to m1 the survivors. And killers that keep survivors injured has 1 huge weakness: survivors have no reason to heal. So what do they do? Gens. Killers like plague have massive snowball potential through her power. Legion has absolutely nothing. He needs a full kit rework, not a buff. There is literally nothing you could buff to make is power any good

3K is good enough for me
What? I'm talking about how it sucks for survivors when someone gets a key, they just play like a jackass and end up getting rewarded for killing their team
-
No it sucks when a survivor gets a key in a chest, they just let everyone die so they can escape after the killer closes the hatch

With your logic we can just add Edward Scissor Hands dressed as Rainbow Bright and we would be fine as long as somebody writes a line saying he likes to hear screams.
Edward Scissor hands could work lore wise though. The entity took him, and even though he fought back he could not retain control and would be turned into a sadistic murderer. Something similar to wraith; he was a normal guy, he killed someone "Accidentally" and the entity took him to play in it's game. As far as a rainbow bright cosmetic, like I said, we already have stuff like that. So I think it's less that my logic contradicts itself and more that you don't understand what i'm saying

Good do know we have the definition of what the game is. Nice line you drew there. John Wick who kills with anything and everything doesn't fit but this travesty does because he records their screams. No Wick would been the better choice. But your right he doesn't fit here....along with mr kpop.
An assassin and a protagonist from a slasher are way different. I do think the trickster does fit though, especially considering a lot of the bright neon skins we have. We basically already had kpop killers and survivors.

That is very true! Like werewolves and a vampire killer type deal haven't even been hinted at and I honestly feel like having a witch killer loosely based on the Blair witch would be interesting, though it isn't a monster.
Oooh yeah a blair witch thing would be really cool. I really wish we got more killers. 1 every 3 months just isn't enough

I respect your point of view and open for a friendly debate? Also I don't want him in the game but, John wick killed more people than Freddy, ghost face, Meyers, and bubba combined tho. Again I don't want John wick in the game but if they can make a neon K-Pop star a killer then others could be made into a killer I feel. Though I value your opinion and respect if I don't change your mind!
Don't get me wrong, I'd be fine with pretty much anything. I just want the killers to be fun. Realistically though, I don't think this really opens up more options for killers. That's what people said with Demo, since he was the first non-humanoid killer which opened up the avenue for monsters and such. Unfortunately, that clearly didn't happen
-
what?
-
Kinda? I mean it's a game about slashers, idk that John Wick fits that profile. The trickster is a kpop idol that tortured and killed people and used their screams in his music. People seem to forget that this isn't a horror game focused around atmosphere and adrenaline pumping suspense. It's about slashers, movies and shows that are pop icons filled with crude humor, comical and extravagant killing, and stories so shallow that they seem to be a parody of themselves.
-
Good thing this is a game about slashers and not a horror game.

Nope! I have slept for most of the day! If I'm in the game, my name is like it is here 😊
Aww :(
When I saw their name I was like "Oh damn! I'm playing against a mod?!"
I gave that imposter hatch damnit XD

After going through the thread a bit, I want to make something very clear. BHVR has in the past commented on wanting add a LGBTQIA+ character in the future (it's not stated when) and they also said they want to make sure it's not a token character. They want players to be able to feel the character is natural and not just "Hey, I'M LGBTQIA+!" Here's a clip where they talk about it:
https://www.twitch.tv/deadbydaylight/clip/HyperGloriousSquirrelDeIlluminati
It's a sensitive topic for many people, including me. I mean, my name gives that away that I belong to LGBTQIA+, eh?
It's great if you don't feel the need to have representation, but some people do care about it and it makes them feel good. I'm one of those people that'd love representation for myself. I know that not everyone goes through the same things in life and we all feel and are different, but this is something I feel like is important. Not just in here, but a very important overall topic.
One big thing I think is also forgotten - many people are already represented sort of automatically, so it might be confusing, but please try to listen to people who try to explain why it's so important. We exist and we're here to stay and not to go anywhere. It's not new, we've always been here. We're normal, just like anyone else, we're humans.
It just needs to be done right, that's what I think and BHVR wants to do it right - they want to make sure it's not a token character.
I will also very firmly say this: We do not tolerate any form and kind of homophobia, transphobia, lgbtphobia of any kind, xenophobia and racism on the forums or in the game. Comments of this nature will be removed with direct consequences from now on.
Hey did I play against you earlier today? I was trapper on Lery's. There was a Nea named GayMichealMyers

DBD would still have to purchase the rights. Fortnite having the rights to a skin doesn't mean other companies can do the same.

How does someone pressing x to make it to a pallet or window say anything about how good I am? I can't bait a dead hard when they use it to keep their distance from me. There is no outplay potential, just press x to outplay.
See the problem with DH is that it's the only perk survivors run.
Sprint Burst?
Stronger than DH but harder to manage, so the only survivors that end up using it are the ones who use it to bait swings, which screws themselves
Lithe?
More consistent than DH, but hard to know when to use it.
Balanced Landing
Right... That perk...
Head Dard is used by everyone because it's stupidly easy to use, and has no counter play when it's used properly.
-
Or maybe you should just get better and not ruin the experience for both sides?
-
Maybe it means console will get end game chat? I want to say gg wp to everyone, not just streamers :(
-
There really aren't any. At least not ones that actually work . You COULD use victor to scope out survivors, hide him once you do, then lumber over there with char. That's different I guess. Really inefficient and counter productive, but different
-
I'd imagine it would be next? Either that or red forest, which i would not be opposed to
-
I mean, it sucks that you weren't able to practice, but personally I just want to get out of a match asap if the killer is farming. I came to play dbd, not to spend 20 minutes farming bloodpoints

I’d also like to add that seemingly few think creatively enough with TTS.
For example. It makes Insidious Camping WAY more effective because they don’t need to worry about Kindred or OoO giving the strategy away once their aura suddenly disappears.
Scummy? Sure.
Clever? Yes.
Insidious already hides you from OoO and Kindred though

Most perks will stomp new survivors. I mean, it would be brutal don't get me wrong, but you could probably steam roll survivors with no perks

I recently learned the value of Thrill of the Hunt from a killer that used it wisely. They were using it with both Ruin and Devour Hope as well as I think Huntress Lullaby. They made it impossible to ignore totems, but with Thrill of the Hunt they kept getting notifications when totems were being cleansed. I don’t think anybody managed to cleanse a single one without being interrupted. We thought it was just a standard Ruin/Undying combo, but when Devour Hope kicked in, that’s when we knew we were really in trouble. Genius play, actually. I don’t think any of us expected a full totem build. Hindsight being 20-20 we should have just gen rushed.
That does seem like it would be good, but if multiple survivors got on totems, or you are playing a killer without mobility, you might not be able to defend the totems well enough

Knock out only works on ppl on the ground. Third seal still needs to be more powerful tho.
Blood Favour also needs rework to be on par with other Hex perks. IMO, keep it a hex and also a CD, but give it a token every time it activates and increase its radius by 8 meters for each token. After a while looping pallets will be unbearable and the totem needs to be found and destroyed.
That'd probably be cool

Except that the specific question he was responding to was about how the poster was getting genuinely angry and depressed in real life from playing Killer from how unbalanced the game was. How is suggesting they take a break not good advice? The entire stream had the devs already talking about their plans on balancing the game, so what do you think he should've said? Repeating what they had already talked about earlier that stream?
People have taken that quote out of context maliciously for years. No f*cking sh*t he doesn't interact with the community much anymore, with how immature and whiney it is.
You contradict yourself.
Think about it, this person was saying that the frustration of playing killer was damaging them mentally, but they still continued to play despite this, which means that they really care about the game. One of the lead developers saying "You should just play something else" kinda seems like a big middle finger to the people who want the game to succeed

Can't blame him, Civ is such a great game.
That's also one of the reasons why i like him so much, it was a good and legit advice which sadly triggered a few snowflakes.
I don't know that
"Our game is really frustrating, but we wont fix that so just go play something else" is "Good and legit" advice
-
Why though? I squeal with joy everytime I see multiple flashlights in a lobby. It just means I'll have a bunch of people chasing me instead of doing gens.
-
It can be powerful, but so can knockout, which is not a hex perk.
-
There are a LOT of factors that can change the answer. I'd say it's safe to say that it is legal. Interpreting something in your own way is almost always okay. For example: Using a song like "Paint It Black" in a video is illegal, but say you preform the exact same song with different instruments, then it's usually fine. Usually being the key word. If you were to not give credit, or directly profit off that song that you preformed, then it'd be illegal. If the original creator came to you and told you that you weren't allowed to use that song, then it'd be illegal.
-
33 last I counted, but it could easily be bumped to 35 if you got unlucky
-
Otzdarva, Ohtofu, Tru3Talent, ScottJund, FunGoose, and plenty more
Honestly, it'd be easier to name the ones I don't like: Jae, and that's it. Out of all the streamers I know, big and small. Jae is the only one I genuinely dislike
-
I'd like to see a monster, or other sort of mythical beast. I just don't really like slashers, like creatures can look so damn cool, where as humanoids are just... eh.
-
Yeah, the fps is way better, but the server stability is abysmal
-
I don't man, clown just doesn't have too much going for him. His anti loop is really good, but it's not good enough. The strength of clown, imo, is an illusion. People just don't play clown very much, same for plague and nurse, which is why very mediocre players can body survivors with these killers.
Lets look at what he does have, anti loop. And that's it.
First off, and least importantly, his design is rudimentary and boring to play with and against. He throw bottle, survivor get slow, and now he throw bottle and he move slightly faster. And for survivor, the counter play is... camp pallets, what joy. There is no mindgames or out plays, just throw down the pallet, wait for him to break it and move on.
Secondly, what is he good at? Well that's simple, chase. What is he bad at though? Oh boy
He's bad a slugging, unless someone is literally a few feet from you, he's not going to make it to someone else
He's bad at injurying multiple survivors, which also plays into his inability to slug proficiently
He has no detection, which means he needs to use up perks to find survivors
He's got no mobility, which is people always try to make excuses for why it's fine that he doesn't
He has no inherent slow down
He's bad at pressuring gens since he needs to focus all his attention at the only thing he is good at.
He's bad a tunneling since he can't ignore perks
He's bad at camping
He's bad at mindgames
Anything he can do, other killers can do way way better.
And another thing, he isn't unplayable, all the killers are viable except in tourneys. He is simply worse than any of the other killers.
-
Probably, the game rn has 33 or more pallets, all but one of them are safe and unmindgameable. Ormond also has a ton, but at least a lot of them are really bad
-
No, this has actually been the most miserable experience I've had in any video game in a really really long time. My internet isn't that great, it'd hurt me quite a bit before the patch.
Chase someone, down then, oh wait NVM packet loss. The game THIS patch however has been absolutely awful, I literally cannot hit people since I'm rubber banding to places I was ten seconds ago, im getting stuck in the walls and the ground, I get stuck in the grabbing animation for a good 30 seconds, I smack someone... or not... I can't vault, kick gens, and plenty other lag related shinanigans.
I have literally never gotten mad at a game before to this extent. Like I've gotten annoyed, but I legit want to break something, last match in particular.
-
I've been using it a lot ... And I find it to be utterly useless. Running devour alone is better sine you don't risk playing with 2 perks
-
I dunno, all the ttvs i've gone against have been really nice and great sports
-
But the reason ruin undying was so good was that it let you pressure gens without having to defend totems. You already have to patrol 8 gens and hook 4 survivors 12 times, adding the need to defend totems is not good
This playstyle just clashes with ruin as well, since ruin needs you to pressure gens, not hump totems
-
You're way better off running just ruin. Ruin+undying is just a fancy way of playing with 2 perks
-
Ive been playing with and against clown a bit, and man... Its the exact same as before. Run to pallet, drop pallet, pallet gets broke. Over and over and over.
It's sucks to play pallet breaking sim as clown, and it sucks to have such unengaging chases as survivor
-
@apathyinc said:
Throw one at a pallet right before you break it. Throw one at a survivor before you pick them up. From what I've experienced the extra speed boost has been great. Using them with Monitor and Abuse has been fun.
I'm pretty sure that the pallet thing ends ups making the survivor gain even more distance, and throwing one while picking someone up is so minor.
So far, it's kinda worked at long loops, but I probably would've gotten then with just the purple. It's sucked at mobility since its using up a bottle for like an extra 8 meters of distance.
I think it's safe to say they are kinda pointless. I mean, it's an extra option for clown, but it's just as effective as the purple, but still doesn't work at most loops in the game.
-
Yeah same, I also seem to suck onto walls when walking close to them, and lately I've been getting some pretty insane auto aim bullcrapery
