  • Because I love the game and I want it to be better.

The ones who love the game the most...amazingly enough...are the ones who want it to change the most and the ones who raise hell with the devs the most.

Why? Because we KNOW the game can be absolutely amazing. There is no other game on the market like this one. The problem is we keep getting half baked content, broken updates, shoddy balancing changes, questionable map design choices, and zero transparency from the developers.

  • Event seems to have made it worse for me. Lag spikes whenever I swing my weapon, it's crazy.

  • They put extra effort in all right.

    In the cosmetic store.

How can they dare to completly fix a bug that wasnt intended.

They could have at the very least waited until the game was in a playable state before patching this.

The game is currently is in flames, console players have been unable to play for a week. The ONLY thing worth noting this bugfix patch was this, which really shows where BHVR's priorities lie.

Rushing to fix a cosmetic bug while the game is BARELLY playabe.

Pretty good job so far Behaviour.

I can't even imagine the sh*tshow that the anniversary event is going to be.

Well they got about a little over a week to make the game function on consoles. Sooooooooo, let's see how it goes!

Gonna ask for source on that as well. As far as I know they are working on fixing clowns power but just weren’t able to in time for this patch.

even added the little bit at the bottom because at that point in time the bug had been in the game for about a month and a half

People want to act like BHVE is such a greedy company they try to twist everything they do to fit their narrative.

they have given the option for refunds for those cosmetics. And now they are clearly shown how they are intended to be in the shop. No one has to buy those if they don’t like it..

They ARE a greedy company. This is the same company that holds back updates because it costs money to ship updates. They fixed the old hill bug 3-4 weeks before that midchapter patch, but they didnt because that costs money.

I dont see why he needs to go to another thread to defend them... additionally, as mentioned, bugs get fixed if you like it or not. Shouldve known it would be fixed eventually.

I did, thats not my problem. My problem is that people are getting their stuff reset when entering a match. That's my problem. Not with the bug itself, but with the lengths that BHVR is going to.

  • @Mooks said:

Maybe they needed to do this because license holders they have a contract with insisted on it?

and this isn’t anti consumer. Those sets were never advertised to not be sets (well.. except for the RE sets I guess. But then they actually gave the option for refunds). This breaking of cosmetics is a bug and was never intended after all. Stop pretending you have a right for broken cosmetics.

there are also way more serious problems going on right now, as you mentioned yourself in the end of your post.

Fixing the bug is one thing, actively going out of your way to screw over players who had the bug is another. If you feel the need to defend them, kindly do it on another thread.

  • The game is just a car crash in slow motion at this point.

    Typical BHVR moment

  • I was a Pyramid Head main since he launched, was with him and no lifed him until now.

The reason why? Pyramid Head is absolutely infuriating to play. The amount of times I've seen people standing in my attack and not getting hit because of the servers is more than I can count and it's infuriating. Nemesis doesn't have that problem from what I can tell. Hence why I switched.

  • The sheer level of incompetency this update is absolutely astounding. We have multiple killers that are bugged, some of which DO NOT even function properly (Clown's gas no longer slows survivors or distorts their vision on a direct hit, Doctor's shock attack sometimes does not give madness on a shock attack hit, Nemesis gives survivors a massive speed boost when they're hit instead of being hindered, something that was a problem on PTB that STILL was not addressed, etc etc etc). That's just killers, that's not talking about literally any of the other bugs and problems the game introduced concerning optimization (which has always been dogwater but somehow got worse again) and connection, somebody needs to swap the hamster who's running the servers out with a new one, I think it's on the brink of death.

How is it that the build we had 3 weeks ago being the PTB was somehow more stable and less buggy than live, how? This is not even beginning to mention the buffs the community wanted for Nemesis were outright ignored not counting his power starve problem, which is less buff and more "hey this is an oversight with his power".

Does anyone know what the quality assurance team was doing??? Was this patch even TESTED before it came out?

It's crazy, on PTB it was buggy but had potential and then BHVR hard dropped the ball, again, like always. Way to completely destroy one of the biggest crossovers you had BHVR, just absolutely well done. It's starting to get impressive just how badly you can ######### up.

  • Now I was one of the odd players who absolutely HATED Billy. Like I just despised him. Not really sure why but something about him just got under my skin. (Might have been because every Billy player I ever faced was an instasaw, endfury, NOED garbage can but I digress.)

The Billy rework is...in short. Bad. Just awful. I didn't play Billy, but speaking to any old Billy mains and hearing about how their main was completely GUTTED in the rework is absolutely appalling. If the Freddy rework hadn't turned him into a dumpster fire of game design that both boring and unfun to go against, the amount of ire people have against the Billy rework would honestly have me convinced that the Billy rework is the worst one that BHVR ever pushed out.

He didn't need his basekit changes, he just didn't. I never see Billies on the admittedly rare occasion that I play survivor now and it's honestly really sad. He's apparently buggy, clunky, and unfun. BHVR needs to fix that, even if I doubt they will because as we all know

BHVR doesn't do anything unless it directly effects their profits.

I'll just point out that higher FOV gives me motion sickness. Some people get sick at higher FOV, some at lower. Higher FOV is clearly a gameplay advantage, so this remains a difficult issue.

Then add a slider and play at a lower FOV while people who get sick from the low FOV play on a higher FOV?

It's not a complicated problem, it literally takes a small bit of common sense to figure out how to fix the issue. It's an adjustable setting. Can't wait to hear to talk about how you get sick of people badgering on and on about it again tho :')

  • Yeah they'll add it back.

Probably as in game microtransactions because the money they make from their overpriced cosmetics wasn't enough. It wouldn't surprise me at this point, considering how greedy and anti consumer this company is.

  • That as time progressed the game would steadily get worse and worse so I could have refunded when I still had the chance

  • @ChurchofPig said:

I think the difference is those cosmetics the pieces are moving, what needed to happen with Never Stop Slashing is the mask actually needed to change facial expressions when certain actions were done. It's more complex than move a tendril on the back of blight or make the heart beat on one of Wraith's weapons.

The thing is they could could have done something like that with Never Stop Slashing, they could have just had the mask change expressions say every 20 seconds or so. That woulnd't have been hard to code at all and would have been closer to the original idea than what we got. What we got was a stock Legion mask recolor that looks like plastic with literally nothing unique about it

We do not include disconnects. Suicides are harder to check for.

Soooooo, even if you don't count disconnects. You just admitted that suicides are harder to check for. So even in your own words you admit that the data is skewed.

The community also thinks that just equipping certain perks in combination is toxic by merit of them just being together.

Never mind that there are people out there not abusing them to all hell.

This community rips each other apart constantly, but when both sides agree about something? That means that something is wrong. Stating otherwise is illogical.

  • 5 Blinks at base

Not the point but OK, sure.

Like I said, I also have my theories. They include trap tunnellers and hook-suicides. But they are still THEORIES. We have none of the data, different regions experience different results. Different RANKS experience different results.

Speculation at the level of what happens on these forums is unhealthy. We all need to take a break and back off.

But even when we don't have the data present in front of us we can tell it's skewed because the data states that Pig is doing "fine" when the majority of the community agrees, she is not.

The point is, the data doesn't matter. The community has pretty much made it a huge meme because of how often Pig (and Legion) have been nerfed into the ground for seemingly NO reason.

This is one of those instances in which community feedback matters more than looking at spreadsheets. But because we have developers thinking the data is holy gospel, the community is ignored, berated, and told we don't know what we're talking about.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1648330#Comment_1648330

Thank you. It's just that we don't have access to the statistics, so all we can do is speculate.

I do have my theories as to why she performs so well, but they are just that. Theories.

In the meantime there are a list of add-ons that are usable and very good for her. If you want ideas on what to do, I'm happy to give my thoughts.

The data also comes from games where suicides and disconnects are still present, so it's skewed and shouldn't be taken seriously. Also as @MusicNerd_TC put it, Nurse is at the bottom of this oh so precious data pool. So by this logic, Nurse needs a buff.

  • @Almo said:

I will try one more time. Data coallated across literally tens of millions of games shows Pig does fine. I admit she needs an addon pass... weird stuff in there like Ruleset #2 actually hurts her chances. It's just that since she's performing well and other Killers need addon passes more urgently, I'm not sure when we'll be able to get to that. It's definitely on my list though.

I will try one more time. Data that the community has put forth collated across the entirety of the playerbase shows that Pig is in a bad spot and this developer right here keeps talking about the data that other devs have stated should not be used for arguments because it is inaccurate in order to push forwards an invalid argument.

She needs more than add-on changes, she needs basekit changes too. The problem is you're too busy urban evading around the corners of the map to do anything useful. You refuse to listen to the community and MULTIPLE pig players who tell you you're wrong because you're autistically screeching "MAH NUMBERS" whenever someone pushes forward that Pig is in a bad spot.

You're such a joke among the community Im honestly surprised you haven't gotten the hint that you are just bad at your job and should stop injecting yourself into the forums where you clearly do not belong because you are VASTLY out of touch with the community.

  • @TransverseCaster said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1648059#Comment_1648059

What's wrong with Pig? I think she's pretty fun but haven't played her in awhile.

There's a lot of things wrong with Pig in her current state. She's an old killer who's starting to show her age and the fact that in the current state of the game she just isn't good.

Spine Chill is a really common perk for a lot of survivors now. Which renders her stealth pretty useless unless you plan on doing the Thriller to gens constantly, this is not counting the fact that a lot of maps delete her stealth because of how big and open they are anyways.

Her chase tool being the ambush is still strong, the problem is, nobody really falls for it anymore. If you see a pig crouch at a loop, bait out her charging and then run away from the loop to another loop, if the pig keeps trying, just keep abandoning the loop. If she gives up and just decides to normally chase you, well then she's a killer with no power in the chase, meaning she eats pallets. Her ambush doesn't work anymore because it has such a basic counter. Why would you use your brain to outplay the Pig when instead you could just smack your forehead into your keyboard and sprint away for free?

and her trap RNG has always been inconsistently bad. They either dont do enough or do too much. They're poorly designed and need to be changed.

Why would you play Pig? She's clunky, poorly designed, and bad. If you want a stealth killer, go play Ghostface. I say that as someone who mained Pig since she launched and didnt fully drop her until Pyramid Head came out.

Im glad they're nerfing the zoning and making judgement better. Can't wait for the change.

Not needed, she performs well statistically. She's definitely A-tier. Not S... but definitely A.

If she "preformed well" statistically, then why does most of the community think she's dogshit?

Oh wait, it's because she is and tunneling nets you a free kill at least. Because that's all she is good at anymore.

Stealth is countered by Spine Chill which is a common perk.

Ambush is countered by running away from a loop as soon as she crouches.

Trap stall is a literal joke because it's RNG based and there isn't a consistent way to get stall out of your traps.

Saying she's a definite A-tier is an absolute joke.

  • Hi, Pig main here

To start off I would like to openly disagree with the following thread. Pig is ######### and youre ######### for dying to her.

Let me tell you how to counter Pig.

Step 1: Have eyeballs. Congrats her stealth is useless on any open map. If youre feeling spicy, equip Spine Chill or Object so it just deletes her out of the game.

Step 2: If she crouches which most Pigs dont because they are either A: Braindead and dont know how to play Pig or B: Are like me and know that the ambush is useless unless the survivor youre against is Hellen Keller and cant find the W key on their keyboard. She crouches, you run towards another loop. Now she doesnt have a chase power.

Step 3: If you have a trap on your head, remove it. It poses almost no threat anyways and you will likely get it off at the first box. Why? Because RNG as a power is a horrible and BHVR cannot design good characters. Except for Oni...but we dont talk about him.

TL:DR Pig is only good when the survivors dont know what theyre doing because Pig is countered with little to no input from Survivors and if that isnt enough to convince, BHVR will probably nerf her again anyways, or wait Im sorry, they'll consistency change her.

  • @Almo said:

When I look at the average number of kills for Legion, it's right in the middle. They're not the best, they're not the worst. This is across all maps, all ranks. That's as much detail as I can go into on this.

Considering how the developers on the streams have stated before multiple times to not take the numbers seriously, I find it really ironic that you then turn around and decide to quote numbers.

The real salt in the wound is the fact that everyone with at least half a brain in the community knows that Legion is an absolute dogsh*t killer and the person who thought the last "rework" (it was a plethora of nerfs not a rework and if you insist on calling it a rework, I find your attempt to be really sad and laughable at best) was a good idea to be completely and utterly incompetent.

TL:DR Nobody cares about your numbers, stop bringing them up and actually listen to your community, because they clearly understand this game better than you do.

  • Let's see what else isn't fun as Killer.

Adrenaline. Love seeing everyone not heal and just doing gens which leads to any semblance of map control or pressure I obtain vanish instantly.

Certain maps tiles. Ironworks of Misery Window, Crotus Penn center, Haddonfield in its entirety, the Badham Preschool window, that lost goes on.

Getting hit with DS after hooking another Survivor. I didn't tunnel them yet I'm being punished.

    Keys. No explanation needed.

If you play any shorter killer or Nurse, CORN. [bad word) CORN.

    Dedicated. Servers.

I'm probably missing more stuff but that just comes to mind off the top of my head.

  • Maps are a huge issue and would fix a lot of Killer issues.

Especially with certain tiles like The Ironworks of Misery (appropriately named) window, Haddonfield as a whole, the Preschool Window, Autohaven Workshop loop, the Entire center of Crotus Penn, etc etc.

A competent survivor can abuse loops like those with little risk. If a killer chases a survivor and that Survivor wastes a minute and a half of their time, even if the killer downs them, thats only a single hook while Survivors were on gens without worry.

I don't know who designs the maps for DbD but they desperately need a stern talking to.

  • Remove the ability to open the hatch pre-endgame collapse via a Key.

Make Ivory and Ebony Moris only usuable when a survivor is on their death hook.

They're both unfun to play against. People need to get over it and BHVR just needs to change them already.

Although i doubt they ever will.

  • My Main Jeff is top tier.

    I'm happy.

  • Myers

    Oni

    Demogorgon

    Trapper

    Pig

And the absolute worst killers in the game, Legion, Clown, and Leatherface.

  • It was quite the lengthy essay where i broke down each and every point he made and disputed it while also simultaneously begging them to fix the game because I love DbD for a multitude of reasons ranging from "Fun with friends" to "literally helped me through a darker time in my life".

I wonder what happened to it, maybe it's stuck in comment limbo for all eternity.

The Ghostface should be the next part of this game that has to be revisited. This killer is totally unfun and frustrating to play against, especially for casual players.

There is no real counter to his power, since you can be exposed while literally standing in front of him and staring at him. This killer is the ultimate tunneling machine, since he can easily counter BT and down people right off the hook again.

Most GF players rely on tunneling and slugging.

GF should not be able to hide his red stain and his TR. It benefits the killer way too much without requiring any effort any effort.

The ability to crouch spam should be taken away, since it is abused by almost every GF killer.

I can see the devs' original intention when creating this killer, but sadly these things are abused by killer main players.

Please make facing ghostface enjoyable for survivors.

This is either the salty ramblings of someone who doesn't understand you need to have him in the center of your screen to break him out of his power, or bait.

    Either way it's really sad.

  • Why are you insisting to implement the Ruin change despite a large portion of the community telling you the new Ruin is bad?

  • 1. Balanced Landing is still good lmao.

    2. Oblivious only really benefits Freddy, Demogorgon is loud enough to where you hear his footsteps. Also Nemesis is mainly used for the obsession swap. Undetectable is also pretty pointless as its purpose to counter OoO was rendered mute when the perk icon for OoO still lights up when looking in that direction.

    3. Old Freddy was better than new Freddy. I know I'm going to get flamed for that one but whatever. Most people didn't know how to play him.

It doesn't matter if we're on the "same side" (I detest "sides" in this game, killers being nerfed can still negatively effect survivor fun if games are too easy or end too fast, as an example).

I don't agree that we should be concentrating on nerf impact, or keeping score, or anything like that. We should just be balancing the game, and not making this yet another "survivor versus killer" issue. I just don't see any value at all from it, and it comes across as incredibly nit picky to me.

@Peppa_Pigsaw I'm very sorry if I came across as offensive in any way, though. I don't mean anything personal by it, sincerely. I get much more passionate about things, especially games I love to play, very easily.

Nah I'm the same way fam you're good.

I learned a long time ago not to take forums too seriously, it just leads to a lot of unnecessary stress. Sorry if I appeared the same way to you. <3

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/996951#Comment_996951

Yeah it's pretty ridiculous how fast gens are done, and there isn't enough to get them off it. The fact that every build has to be dedicated to how to get them off gens and not really anything else just makes for a stale game.

I've been watching high skilled streamers, major killer players like Otz and Tru3 having like...more than half the match take place with 1 gen left and them having to go maximum sweat to even get like....2 people let alone everyone, and even then they ONLY get 2 because they get overly altruistic at the end game.

WHY EVEN PLAY THE FIRST PART OF THE GAME THEN? If you can't do anything, why bother? So what if killers average 2 kills, if like all their kills are coming from the end game and altruism, is it even a game anymore? It's making it stale and boring, which is the worst thing a game can do imo.

You can nerf killers, you can buff survivors, you can leave matchmaking broken, but eventually killers are going to stop having fun in the game- when that happens they will just stop playing.

A mobile game Identity V, which I'm sure you heard of, had a similar issue for a while. But they fixed it by adding a status effect to their survivor equivalent which made them do their objective slower.

It works for them, BHVR should give it a shot and see how it pans out.
