Circle of Healing nerfed to the ground.
Outside of that we got no new survivor perk for years.
If anything was a little usefull, then killer main streamers demanded nerfs, and new perks or buffed ones never made it into the meta.
Anyone remember Lucky Break? How streamers cried and got it nerfed. Never used because the pitiful timer.
Boil Over? Nerfed to please the streamers, now only usable in a very specific map with swf on comms.
Parental guidance nerfed before the release, useless.
Circle of Healing? Gone, maybe swf can make it work with great effort.
Meanwhile killers getting meta perks with every release.
The game losing playerbase because survivors can't take it anymore the never ending nerfs, and infinite buffs for killers.
What I see less solo, and more SWF, game bleeding survivor playerbase.
The only way is fun for survivors being on the comms.
What's the use for new survivor perks if always be useless?
Just release 6 killer perk LOL, at least every perk will be meta. Only killers allowed to have fun.
Just wait and see after Dead Hard nerfed, what will happen with playerbase
COH is still viable but it is still more effective in it's current state. Compare this to when Undying was nerfed. It had to happen because you could have a hex totem up all match. That nerf completely changed how killers had to play, which is not the same in regards to COH nerf.
Boil over was abused with people going to RCPD Library constantly. This would force killers to bleed them out just to progress the game. Fun for both right?
Killers have more tools available to them (i.e. Scourge Hooks, Lethal Pursuer, etc.) But the meta is still similar (Ruin, Undying, Corrupt, Tinkerer, BBQ, PGTW, Sloppy Butcher) from when I first started playing in 2020. I think killers have started thinking more outside of the box. I love the recent updates on Plague and I play almost exclusively her Prayer Tablet add on style. Slap on Fearmonger and now you have an interesting match.

Infinite loading screen as in "it never went anywhere at all and I had to shut the game down forcefully," or "load screen that took forever, and suddenly it put me on the end-of-game screen (because somebody DC'd or crashed)"??
The latter eventually happened but it took 10 minutes of loading
-
Whispers would be great basekit for killers. It'll reduce the guessing game making games more efficient for both killers and survivors (no more crawling to a corner to hide and bleed out).
I think a weaker Corrupt would be good too. Corrupt stops the farthest 3 gens for 180s. Maybe a base could be the 2 closest to you for 90s. You could combine them and then it'll turn the middle into the hunting ground for at least the initial 90s.

Splatoon is probably the best Nintendo mp game to compare it to, I play a lot as well, and it's crazy how active that game still is.
Yeah it's interesting though. Splatoon game purchases almost equalled switch purchases in Japan. This meant almost every Switch user in Japan played Splatoon 2.
The fact that it's a single platform system vs. DBD shows that these type of endless multiplayer games can survive. There's no official end game and there are different weapon loadouts toix and match certain games
Granted the grind is so much better on Splatoon 2. One idea that DBD could adapt from Splatoon 2 is to "reroll" bloodwebs. Spend 5k BP to reroll bloodwebs.
Once Splatoon 3 drops I foresee a significant drop in my DBD playtime. I wonder if this will apply to other Switch players since there is a significant crossover.

1. That's not what "playing devil's advocate is" that's just being untrusting.
2. As much proof was given as they have on kill rates or anything else, a picture doesn't make the data more accurate, after all.
3. Unlike the kill rates and other internal metrics, number of players is something they would have to show to get financing, certain tax incentives, show prospective license holders to gain more licensed characters, and also to keep shareholders happy. To put it simply, it's the worst thing they could pick to lie about, as it's literally the only metric they can be sued for lying about.
Yup 100%
However, they can present the data so that number of logins can show better numbers than active users.
For example, rn there's a daily login of 70k BP and shards. I can't play everyday due to real life, but logging in and getting 2 matches worth of BP takes a few seconds.
My usual queue does vary, but at worst is always relatively quick with crossplay on (I play on Switch). My killer queues time is similar to my Splatoon 2 queue time for regular matches (8 players). Splatoon 2 (or even 1 ftm) is still really active and both games came out 5 years ago
-
I use SoS for 3 reasons;
1. I don't feel like spending 1M BP to unlock certain perks. This is especially true for survivors. If a survivor only had 1 good perk, then it's not worth leveling them up. David has Dead Hard and WGLF so it's worth leveling him. Bill has BT and UB so again it's worth leveling him up. For killers it may be worth leveling the killer most of the time, unless you have 0 interest in playing them (i.e. Huntress Lullaby is fun on Doctor but I don't like playing Huntress)
2. Unlock perks for characters you haven't purchased.
3. If you gotten most of the perks you want and you'd rather have BP. I do this only when leveling up killers, and when I have excess shards and am not looking for certain perks. It helps with leveling up new killers as 2000 shards is 15% of the grind.

She's...ugh. Frustrating.
I love:
- Her visual and audio design. Stellar work.
- Her power is interesting in theory.
- Uh...one of her perks isn't terrible.
However:
- Both aspects of her toolkit feel mediocre at best and entirely superfluous at worst.
- She has about 4 addons that feel mandatory for her power to be even somewhat impactful.
- TV spawn logic can render her power useless.
- Her small size creates visibility issues in tall grass and corn.
- A lack of any chasing tool makes her frustrating to play on a lot of maps/survivors. Even Pig can use her dash to mindgame at loops...and that's Pig.
Yo I just said that about the grass and corn! I played on open/indoor maps and was fun but then I had Coldwind/Pale Rose btb and I realized this was going to be an issue lol

I wanted to see other ppl opnions on this topic because as a killer main who already got P3 and all perks on every killer then followed Mathieu's advice (play something else) i can't really recommend this killer to others...
She is not really fun to play as she has nothing special other than being able to walk through survivors and teleporting feels really clunky because you can't really tell exactly where the TV is nor the side its facing and on top of that u cant even move your camera during the animation...
In the end she is just a M1 killer with no chase potential, no insta down and a long cooldown teleport that can be prevented by survivors, instantly removing any form of potential map pressure she might have.
I must say that im just playing her because she is new and i wanna P3 her and find the best build possible, however she is boring as clown, Freddy and Wraith are more interesting to play (even tho they are extremely bland too), and once i get there, i'll probably stay away from DbD until next chapter.
I'm enjoying her as her playstyle is fun. However, I've never played a short killer before. I usually play Plague which is tall. First few matches with Sadako were on good maps (Azarov and Macmillan). But then I had 2 matches yesterday on Cold wind and Pale Rose. Idk if it was an off day, but the corn/grass I couldn't see anything and kept getting 360'd and losing survivors in grass.
Im sure Hag, Blight and Victor face the same issues, but I don't play them too often. I'm hoping to keep practicing and having fun with her though.

I'm putting the chains to rest on Ceno for a little bit so I can learn a new killer. It'll be the trapper. Figured I'd come to the community and get some tips n' tricks from our lovely trapper members on what works for his gameplay and what to avoid in the trial.
Trapper Sack and Iridiscent stone add ons are fun to play. Pair it with Corrupt Intervention and secure a strong 3 gen by trapping ways in and out of the loops. I've seen people work on gens and then a disabled trap resets and traps them unexpectedly.
Don't reset the traps unless absolutely necessary as they will auto reset every 30s. Just make sure you pick the locations well as you can't pick them up.
You can run other M1 perks (Sloppy Butcher, Enduring, BBQ, Ruin/Undying, etc.). Devour Hope/NOED is really fun too lol if you get 3 stacks and they get trapped you can hide the exposed status by grabbing instead of M1 hits
-
It could be other games are coming out tbh. Past 4 weeks we had big games came out. It's going to take away from DBD. Elden Ring is big for PC and then even on consoles, you have Pokemon Arceus taking Switch people away.
Im a little part of the latter, but am going back to my Gameboy advance lol but I'm still playing and am excited for Sadako. I've also been loving Plague lately. So the BP rush is nice to begin unlocking her perks once she comes out.
-
As survivor, Fearmonger is annoying. You are blind and exhausted when doing gens.
As killer, I've recently started playing with Fearmonger on Prayer Tablet/Corrupt/Thano Plague and it's so much fun lol if they work on a gen that's infected, they get blind, exhausted, broken once sickness damage kicks in (which is faster with prayer Tablet), and then Thano slows them down.

That Passive Abilaty would be just like the lore but remember this is dbd the really dont go off lore somtimes
Hey! I wasn't completely wrong about the reset counter (Condemned) when they do the tape!
Nice lol
-
Clump of Hair and Reiko's Watch sound like a fun combo. Match it with Tinkerer and Merciless Storm and survivors will be caught off guard and left guessing.
Tape Editing Deck/Yoichi's Fishing Net seems interesting, but I think the time to condemned needs to be stortened slightly or the level of condemned removed when copying tape needs to be decreased.

Will this synergise with new regression perk?
Probably just get 200% on kicked gen only, but will still trigger difficult Skil checks on other gens. Going to be similar to Overcharge/Oppression combo

It would generate a 2nd objective for survivors and would be overall passive slowdown for game, similar to Pinhead. It'll be similar to Pig's boxes but with no RNG.
Mechanics are already in the game and idea has been established before.
I don't think they'll do a transportation through tv/wells as it'll just be another Freddy/Demo.
I wouldn't mind more madness inducing mechanics as well similar to Doctor. But I don't know if they'll go that way
-
I was listening to DylongKG and HiDro podcast and they had an interesting idea.
Power: (Passive) 1 survivor is marker at beginning of trial. After a certain amount of time, they will become exhausted and exposed (which follows lore as 7 days progress). A survivor can pass along the curse to another survivor if they have watch the video at TVs spread throughout the trial. Count will reset then and aura will be revealed for new survivor (last part is me)

I literally only have like 200 hours in this game yet I 80% of my games I play ridiculously good survivors, WHILE I'm just trying to learn nurse too. And I'm not saying this cause they're grade one, its cause every time I check their steam profile, they have literally 4000+ hours. I don't care what way you look at it, if you have even 1500+ hours in this game, you're most likely pretty good. It's actually laughably bad how I just get steamrolled every match cause the survivors I play against are optimal as #########. I stopped playing as much cause of MMR. What are of all your thoughts on MMR?
MMR has been fair on both roles. I've gotten better teammates as survivor and better opppnents as killer.
You are still new and are learning Nurse so I'm not surprised. Number of hours could mean overall knowledge, but isn't indicative of skill tbh.

That's even worse F13 to me wasn't fun because how spread out everyone was. What it did have going is Jason always stayed in the power role and never left it. Only way to kill Jason is to call in the special character, get to his shack, steal mama's sweater, hope he survives, get a machete, remove Jason's Mask and then hopefully everyone that needs to survive does to do the instant kill.
That's alot of work but worth it and takes teamwork. That's what F13 has over DbD.....actual teamwork but they were always in the weaker role. But that was what made it fun, running from Jason trying to joke him hoping he had left to try to escape knowing I couldn't do anything to him made it fun.
From the promo that's what will happen with the survivors. They will fight against the raiders using weapons and powers and the goal is to escape through a time capsule. It's unique enough to differentiate, but similar enough to draw attention away from DBD.

Exactly what does DBZ have to do with DbD? Might as well compare Final Fantasy to Battlefield.
It's a new asymmetrical game where a raider has to hunt down and kill survivors. It's not FF vs. battlefield, but more like F13 vs. DBD.
-
Survivor:
Spine Chill is a non-directional indicator. Premonition gives you a directional indicator of where killer is.
If you are on a gen and you don't see/hear killer or see anybody being chased/injured within 2 minutes of match, be very aware as it's probably a stealth killer like GF, Wraith or Myers.
Killer:
Go to the furthest gens possible when starting out. Most survivors spawn over there (unless you are on Haddonfield, then it's random)
If a survivor is looping you too long (45s or more), leave chase and pursue a different weaker survivor.
Don't be ashamed to run NOED as it is fun lol
Try not to camp. Hooks over Kills. It will not only generate more pressure it will make a more fun game for everybody
-
I think a boon that prevents one shot downs or gains endurance is possible. Think of the DH endurance, BT hit or even Mettle of Man, but in an AOE for 1 hit only that lasts for 10s after entering.
-
Hoarder: I'm okay with the current effects for chests, but would remove range. 2nd effect of all items pulled from chests will result in Killer Instinct within 12/24/36m when being used. I think these 2 QOL changes would make it better as it'll give much more information. Killer instinct versus aura to combat Shadow Step

I usually run an all Hex build on my Wraith but that's just because it's a meme build that is purposefully designed to allow Survivors control of what perks I can use. I've had games ranging from all of them going down in 2 minutes or less to all 4 being up which gave me complete dominance in the match. If you go in with all Hex, treat it as if you're just throwing the match and have fun.
Haunted Grounds/Undying/Devour Hope/NOED on Wraith is fun lol
-
Hex: Sheep's Clothing and Hex: Haunted Ground is just funny lol pair it with Undying and Devour Hope and it could be a fun match lol
I had a similar idea if Hex: Torment a few months back. But instead of TR shifting, it gave a stackable Haste status token every 40/50/60 seconds when totem would shift. TR is cool too and the undetectable is fun.
Painful Presence is fun for stealthy killers like Myers or GF. You could even pair it with Hex: Torment to mess with people
-
I think the overall idea of MMR is that if you kill/survive you are the better player. Regardless of how it is accomplished. NOED/Slugging/Camping/Tunneling are cheeky ways to win, but they are what they are.
I do enjoy the separate rankings for killers. The base rank is the same which makes sense as many common killer strategies are valid across the board.
Ive found as survivor that teammates are generally better as well in soloq. You get the occasional potato, but overall much better quality. There is the aspect that as survivor you won't PIP because killer decided to engage in a 5 gen chase and activated NOED at the end. You don't get any points for altruism, boldness or survival. At least with new MMR the chance to pip is still there (barring NOED lol)
-
Tbf you have to find to find totem, bless it, get hurt and then come running back to the 24m area. Inner Strength can heal in 8s and isn't limited to an area if the map. Even self care builds can do a little longer without the search for totems.
As killer I've only seen COH a few times. If you want to have fun with them then run Undying and Haunted Grounds. They waste potentially 56s of a game just to activate HG 2x.
-
I just play for fun now. I have fun with builds/challenges I like and that's that. I wasn't a rank 1 killer before, and probably won't be now with MMR.
-
Wraith: All Seeing Blood/Coxcombed Clapper
NOED/Undying/Haunted Ground/Devour Hope
Chance of triggering HG 2x for easy Devour Hope stacks.
-
Billy: so much more fun than Bubba. They are just zooming over the map and it's more fun to play with loops.
Demo: most Demo players are chill imo and dodging a shred attack is fun lol

Can someone slip a console into that PTB somewhere somehow, please?
Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft don't want potential console breaking updates so no PTB on consoles. This is why console patches take longer. They have to be approved by the companies and thourughly tested before going live.
-
Hex:TOTH
Hex:Undying
Hex: Haunted Ground
Itll make people regret blessing totems lol they'll spend 72s of a match blessing 2 totems just to activate Haunted Ground....twice lol
Although Vigil is really cool now speaking of which!
-
Myers did get a buff in T2, but then boon totems exist and then Hawkins is going away lol
Hex: TOTH makes it annoying for boon users. It takes them 50% longer to bless totems. So the 24s becomes 36s of just doing nothing. This is on top of 15s of looking for the totem at least and then 8s of healing or being stuck in that small area lol
I think it'll be used a lot for now but will become less used. They won't replace the meta perks in long run (for now). When we get a gen boosting speed then it might, but even then 28s for blessing to save 20s on a gen in that area. You might as well just do gen lol
Also, Doctor doesn't care about auras. Haunted Ground//Undying will make people think about blessing totems. Somebody mentioned Plague before and that's a great option as well
-
I'm getting Mikaelq. She's interesting and her boon perks look interesting. I have 750k BP ready for her
-
As killer, it should be expected to gens to pop quickly. 3 gens popping is normal within first few minutes of match. You chase 1 person while the other 3 do gens. Unless you insta-down survivor quickly you can't engage in 2nd chase.
You can run Corrupt which helps move survivors close to you, or they camp the blocked gens which they did nothing.
I also enjoy running Devour Hope and Undying with no Corrupt. I find Corrupt encourages totem searching. Or pair it with DH, UD and Haunted grounds to make them think twice about totems. 3 hooks and everybody will get off gens to do bones. If you down 2 people in the same area, then you could be setting up for Mori very quickly.
As a survivor, what does killer expect us to do while you decide to engage in a 5 minute chase? If I have a challenge (bones, chests) I'll do that, but eventually I'll have to do gens. There's literally nothing else to do. I could join the chase and block the injured survivor so now your 5 min chase has been extended for at least 20s while I run forward.
-
@MckFinn said:
Do you guys like this event, or do you think it is another lazy attempt by the devs to make an event?
I don't know much about it yet, but they have away 100k BP already ahead of Mikaela's release so that's cool. I think BHVR did a good job with 5 year event. Cakes and BP event helped me get a lot of BP. Even now I still have 30 cakes on Spirit lol
-
Hex: TOTH still helps. It causes 50% longer cleanse/bless speeds. Boon totems got nerfed to 24s, so that means it'll take them 36s to set up a boon.
You can run Haunted Ground/Undying/TOTH to mess with boon players. They'll spend 72s of an entire match setting up boons just to potentially activate Haunted Ground twice lol
-
Are you talking about licensed or generic archetypes?
Licensed: Chucky, Candyman, Xenomorph, plethora of Asian horror (i.e. Ring), Carrie, Pennywise, Shining
Archetypes: Alien, Robot, Vampire, Werewolf, Pirate, Mermaid/Siren, Blind/sound based killers, elemental, witch/warlock, hunter with companion (hounds)
I mean there's a lot of legends they haven't touched either. I think some movie characters will overlap too much (My Bloody Valentine/Trapper) but even generic types and a handful of licensed can get them 2 years at least
-
Best thing to suggest is to try and get into chases. You'll learn quickly on what works, mind games, etc.
Don't run all dark clothes, try to attract some attention.
Watch out for dead zones and be aware of ways out. 1 pallet isn't bad, but pallet and then vaulting a window with Lithe is great
-

None of her perks are anywhere near good enough to nerf imo.
Yeah but I think it's an interesting gameplay change. If you have a SWF and activate 4 boon totems where your aura is hidden (no BBQ, no all seeing blood) and you get faster healing without med kits. If you have 4 boon areas affecting 28m range, you are talking 100+ meters where you can be invisible to the killer (no scratchmarks/aura)

I'm excited for Plague buffs. I think she is a fun killer to use in general with a unique power. May get back into her again!
Key/hatch nerfs is fun, but boon totems make me uneasy with level of potential buffs, but I am curious what the trade off will be. Most likely player who first blessed can now be insta-mori'd for rest of match. I think that would compensate very well imo.
Overall I'd say 7.5/10 based on what I see so far. I think it's good QoL changes and balances on each side
