They said the gen was completed so it was weird the Killer went over there, my guess is crows were the snitch.

I try to do it occasionally with a map offering when I SoloQ. However, I will still play the game regularly and not selfishly screw over my teammates just to open the door and leave. Otherwise I would very likely have more progress or have finished it already.

I forgot to add, if they can't fix hug tech pallet breaking should go. If they can fix his bugs, base-kit nerf is not needed.
You managed to turn this topic into another nerf Blight thread. Bravo /s
I like you on this forum but it gets a bit much sometimes.

90% of my matches are against Wesker, Nemesis, and Legion right now. I like playing against Wesker when it's not every other game (like it is right now). But Legion and Nemmy are both in my top 5 most hated Killers to face (not because they are good, just extremely annoying). Hopefully it goes back to normal after this event (still lots of Resident Evil but not THIS much).
-
Why is it "abuse" to use a good perk? Killers running Merciless Storm only when it was bugged and gamebreaking was abuse. Survivors just have their first toy to play with I'm a loooong time so of course, Killers rush to this forum and will beat the horse until it dies.
They may as well just nerf it sooner than later because blame on any games lost involving this perk will never stop.

Who sits on a gen for 90 seconds, though? It's more like 80-70 seconds with one or two gen perks and less than 60 seconds with a toolbox on top.
Uhm, me? Multiple times per game? I wish I was having these fabled back to back optimal games you Killers talk about, with Survivors who even half know what they are doing. Most games it feels like I'm solo-ing multiple gens (with no perks or toolbox), have to lead the Killers on 2+ minute chases, get all the hook rescues and people STILL don't touch gens.
Trust, for every 1 Killer out there getting gen rushed there are 10 Survivors having terrible games because their teams suck. It's not just you guys, we get spread thin too. At least Killers get the luxury of the outcome being all on their own shoulders, and not have to worry about getting sandbagged.
-
As someone who has brought a Med-kit into their games 90% of the time since the start of my DBD career (and still does even after the recent nerfs), I can tell you they were just too good. I tried to sweep it under the rug but knew changes would come eventually.
Killers leave me in chase a lot because I waste a too much of their time, and being able to heal very quickly and get back to gens and such was VERY good. It also allowed the ability to 99% your heals multiple times a match and keep injured bonuses like Resilience with little risk. It just saved SO much time to have multiple self heals (on top of having Circle of Healing was a bit ridiculous).
Med-kits are still great, just not stupidly great.

What I wanna know is why is death slinger not nerfed like nurse , I feel his gun should be a special attack and not be able to work with NOED. its really stupid, if nurse lost this ability so should he.
No...just no. It seems you think everything is broken and OP on Killer's side so your opinion becomes moot on balance decisions.
-
Nerf gen speeds and anti-tunnel, and then rely on some honor system that Killers will magically stop tunneling? Yeah that's a big NO. Tunneling is the problem that is preventing Killers from getting meaningful buffs. Unless it's prevented or heavily deterred busy built in mechanics, Killers will never stop doing it.
-
The only buffs to stop gen rushing that people on this forum are going to want is for the Killers. I like your idea about changing items to mix up playstyles, but that doesn't fly here. It's funny because Killers hate gen rush so much but also love getting anything other than holding M1 on a gen nerfed.

I don’t think any of those perks in their former states actually incentivized not camping/tunneling though. They just made those tactics less necessary. So when you say that the carrot approach has been tried already, I don’t agree with that other than old BBQ. A real carrot would be something like if you hook somebody for the first time then the gen with most progress explodes and regresses 10% or something like that. I think there are a lot of creative ways that could be used to reward killers for leaving hooks or downing/hooking other survivors.
I’ve said this many times before, but I really feel that the core issue that is not being addressed is how unfair SWF on comms is at mid to high levels and this is why killers play the way they do. There will always be those sociopaths that have fun making other people miserable no matter what, and you’re never going to be able to do anything about that. But there are plenty of ways to make SWF less oppressive which I really believe would make killers feel like they don’t have to camp and tunnel as much to win. Unfortunately this is never going to happen because BHVR are worried about losing a lot of players if they do anything to handicap SWF teams.
No amount of buffs to Killer or nerfs to Survivor will ever stop camping and tunneling. They would have to straight up be prevented by a game mechanic for Killers to not do them. It will always be the easiest way to get hooks/eliminate Survs and any buffs and nerfs are just going to make it even easier. I think this is literally why Killers aren't getting meaningful buffs, like it seems obvious that they should but these tactics are likely what is preventing that.
-
I will never even really understand what the term gen rushing even means. So I'm supposed to just stand there for 20 seconds before I start a gen? Maybe blow it up a couple of times on purpose? Killers can kill without tunneling and camping, Survivors just have to try and do gens as efficiently as possible as it's the only way multiple people are going to survive.
...incoming "but tunneling and camping are the most efficient ways to kill". The easiest way, sure. But I play against plenty of Killers who win or do well by spreading hooks and only camp and tunnel when wisely strategic, not play like those are the end-all be-all ways to win. I would gladly take nerfs to gen speed perks and toolboxes, give Killers basekit Corrupt and see what happens. I bet bad Killers will STILL act like they need to camp/tunnel and STILL find a way to cry about gen speeds.
-
They just sell better. That's it. If someone like Elodie's costumes sold as well as Feng or Nea's, she would get more. It just that simple.

I find it incredulous that a nerf to a healing perk is to blame for genrushing.
This wasn't an issue before Circle of Healing was added to the game and completely changed the healing meta and hit-and-run landscape, so why is it an issue now?
It's not the only reason, just wanted to explain my thoughts on how it is adding to gen rush. The nerfs didn't suddenly cause it, it was already somewhat of a problem in some games.
Insinuating that gen rushing isn't at least something that CAN be a problem is strange.

There is no increase, it just means the OP is bad as killer.
I'm actually saying this completely based on my observations as Survivor, but okay 🥲 haven't played Killer much since the inclusion of MMR/SBMM.

@DBDVulture said:
It might have had something to do with gen regression perks getting a 70% nerf and gen rushing perks getting no changes.
Well yeah, in conjuction with that of course it's even worse. Just wanted to point out that it isn't just the regression nerfs. And I pointed out how it was a mistake to not do something about gen speeds and only touch healing. I don't think they foresaw how Survivors would adjust and just focus gens even harder than they already were.
-
@Brimp said:
Basically huge/pallet loaded maps and survivor split spawns mixed with a little bit of perks even though you don't really need gen speed perks.
Maps are getting looked at, thank goodness. I don't think they need huge overhauls but just tweaks here and there to make it less easy to just pre-drop and run to the next loop.
-
And Killers are only running it now knowing that it is broken. If something like this wasn't killswitched on survivor side by now, this forum would implode.
-
I think the game is actually pretty well balanced, maybe slightly Killer sided in some ways but that's how it should be in a 4v1.

This List is such poor advice and it might work in writing, but not in reality and it wont make Killers like this perk or have fun.
- What if I have a poor memory? Its easy for Survivor Mains to remember the Killers 4 perks I cant remember what perks the Survivors use, In fact it all blurs together. You basically have to pretend every survivor have Dead Hard, which is bad. bHVR could give Killers some QoL changes that remembers Survivors perks when you encounter them. But I dont see any support for that.
- I had a Survivor last night, had to waste 10 seconds on her and she still got Dead Hard. It does not work, the second she sees me attack she presses the button and the Server just validates her. Yes, the Server validates non-lunges. so your point there is a untrue. There is nothing that can be done, they always get an escape. Plus where is my Server validated Killer grabs?
- Your third point just repeats the second. Same problem, Server Validates them anyway.
- Ah yes, the Dead zones which bHVR have almost removed from the game and the pallet amount is still out of this world. The only time a Survivor runs into a dead zone is when another survivor has rarely screwed over their team-mates by dropping all their pallets. It dont matter most of the time, "one hit sorry Server Validated the DH."
- STBFL what if I don't want to use that perk, another meta perk. Give me some better perk options for dealing with DH yesterday.
- Not all Killers have animations that can fake out a DH, and most have Powers that stop them right down. Losing distance. Not great.
In the end DH is a press a button, get server to validate, you get distance AND you take a hit and the Killer gets nothing is slowed, plus t-bags and death threats in post game chat. I think its absolutely horrific that bHVR would give such a Powerful Perk to Survivors who then get to use that min 8 or more times in a match with 4 Survivors. There is no other perk for Survivors that wastes the Killers time that much.
The best solution would be to cut the benefits and keep what Survivors like about the Perk, like I discussed here:
Wow...just wow. You Killers really just have an excuse for everything. I love that it's okay for Killers to make all these terrible suggestions for Survivors to try to counter their stuff, but when legitimately good advice is given to you, every excuse under the sun comes out. This game really just makes yall miserable people.
-
Some are Survivor sided, some are Killer sided. Yet both sides can still win on any map. The balance isn't great but it's really not as terrible as Killers make it out to be. Except for The Game, that one could really stand to lose a few pallets lol

Nerfing Eruption is not enough to stop the 3 gen strat. With another killer released centered on 3 gens, the community (survivors) will demand changes prompting the devs to eliminate the last two perks that allow for gen pressure and controlling the game without winning chases, which will hurt weaker killers who can’t afford to commit to chases and need to kick gens and stall out the game in order to have a chance at winning. At this point, I’m almost wishing 6.1 never happened as we’re looking at a meta less varied than before with killers being left with no good perks due to all the nerfs the devs keep giving into. Hope you enjoy your 20 minute ques because we’re going back to post Boon survivor que times assuming what I’m saying comes true.
If two mostly innocent perks have to go because Killers are constantly playing victim and act like they HAVE TO resort to the scummiest tactics to still 'barely stand a chance at winning' against all of the comp pro sweaty Survivors they apparently face, then so be it.

I think this is the part where we just gotta trust BHVR a little bit. Just imagine them listening to all the killer complaints and thes nuke DH, if the doomsayers were right and we would see a SB meta afterwards (I doubt it), its hardly imaginable that BHVR would nerf SB next.
Same here: Eruption in its recent form was way overtuned and far too strong. Now that its gone 3-gening is as viable and a good tactic, as it has been in the last 6 years, just not every killer used in before. But they can't just shut down everything that the other side doesn't like, only the really crazy outliers.
How is anybody saying that SB is going to be the new meta the "doomsayers"? This is literally a doomsayer topic lmao. Personally, I have been saying that as a warning to be careful what you wish for, not because I am trying to defend my precious little DH. Survivors aren't really that scared of DH getting nerfed. It's just that it's being targeted unfairly, most likely because Killers are typically wanting their 1 for 1 nerf now that Eruption is getting tanked.
-
I want my big breasted, blonde, ditsy babysitter Survivor. This is iconic in the horror genre. Nothing to do with sex, I just love that aesthetic and the personality that comes with it. * shrug *
I love seeing people being so selfish about what they want to see in a game. Like every single thing needs to appeal to them specifically or it's "what did they do to MY game??" It's not YOUR game, all the characters are meant to appeal to tons of different tastes. That's how you sell.
-
Anyone saying it's easy to play around is being disingenuous, but so are the Killers that act like every DH is used to perfection. A lot of the games I play and streams I watch see Survivors messing up their DH or having it baited out without losing that much time a hilarious amount.
-
This mentality will slowly kill this game over time. And Killer mains will continue spreading this "must tunnel or guaranteed loss" like gospel until the game is changed to be much easier for them in other ways. Killers will endlessly post for more buffs and threaten to continue tunneling until they do, to the point where tunneling really isn't optimal but guess what? They WILL STILL TUNNEL. Tunneling will have to be literally prevented by some game mechanic for it to ever stop. Otherwise the goal posts will just keep moving and the "justification" to tunnel will never end.
Killers need to improve there ability to find Survivors and get downs, but why do that when you can use Lethal Pursuer and just pick your victim right away, and then just go in the loop of tunneling or punishing the unhooker? You barely have to skillfully chase or find anyone when you use such a tactic, and then wonder why you can't catch other players? Then you boost your MMR to levels you shouldn't be at, and start getting stomped...but that's okay, it's just the games fault right? It can't be a skill issue at all, right? I wish they never implemented MMR at all because it's just one more thing people crutch on to falsely build their flimsy arguments.
Hard Tunneling is simply the easiest way to secure a win, deeming it NECESSARY is just a flat out lie. I play against Killers all the time who win just fine without doing it, at least so fiercely. Maybe they'll do it to a hook or two when it's strategic to do so, but don't make it their first and foremost goal at 5 gens. When I play Killer I don't do it: I win some, I lose some. I like winning just like anyone else but it isn't everything, and losing can teach me a lot.
Hopefully something can change that actually makes Killers believe they aren't forced to tunnel (like gen speeds being changed without just slapping on more seconds), or some crazy mechanic gets introduced tha makes it impossible to do so without hurting the Killers chance of winning. Killers can definitely use a little help but I think the game is actually pretty balanced right now. But sadly I don't think that will ever happen. We are going to be stuck in this Killer vs. Survivor balancing hell for the rest of this game's lifespan, and that is just plain sad.
-
I wish she was a bit taller, striking and imposing to match the strut...or had an evil but loveable laugh, like Trickster...or had an exciting TR...or a provocative Mori...or anything that matched her design at all. She's clearly aimed at pleasing a certain demographic and even then, at least for me as part of that demograchic, she's a flopping big time.
-
They better not touch Pain Res, that perk is actually fair. Eruption caused some gross interactions in games and it just had to go.
-
After Dead Hard gets inevitably nerfed, Killers will come for Sprint Burst within the next week after. Calling it right now.
-
Would it be OP if Freddy got both Dream Pallets and snares? And then just rework the add-ons around that?
-
The whole system is confusing to me. Hadn't played Killer in a few months, came back because I really wanted to learn Dredge. My first couple of games were players I was definitely not ready for skillwise. I didn't understand why they were pairing me with them since it had been quite some time and I never even played Dredge before. I just toughed out the matches and they ended up going decently but I was kinda annoyed the matchmaking did that.
-
Please don't listen to these doomsayers that act like tunneling and camping are your only ways to win. I see so many Killers try to go straight to tunneling/camping right from the start...and what happens more often than not is that the Survivor team gets one good rescue mission and the strategy just flops entirely because the Killer still can't win chases consistently. So when what they were told was the best strategy to win fails, get even more confused and just blame the game instead of themselves.
Just practice your mind games and your abilities to get downs and you will get better over time. Test out new builds. Don't be afraid to camp or tunnel when need-be but try not to rely on that as your only strategy or you will never really improve. You will just be padding your win rate which will land you in higher MMR and match you with players you just aren't actually ready for, making it even harder to learn. It's okay to lose sometimes.
-
Even if he can be tricky to outplay, he undeniably has the highest skill ceiling. He's just really powerful on top of that, which makes it seems like he's easy. There are so many factors that can screw you playing Blight that you have to change pace on the fly several times per match and maintain control. His add-ons need fixing but that does not change the fact he takes a lot of skill and good decision making to really take full advantage of. Unfortunately he is also really good at tunneling which is understandably extremely annoying...
-
My dream is that all of gen regression and gen progression perks would get nerfed/changed, most exhaustion and aura reading perks would be nerfed/changed, and then two specific perks on each side, Windows and CoH and then Franklin's and No Way Out (2 perks on each side I feel are "hand holding"). All of this combined would change a lot of the things frustrating to both sides, make perk builds much more interesting and return the game to a feel it used to have a long time ago.
Also a bunch of Killer add-ons and all Survivor items/add-ons would get a rework, except maps. I'm actually perfectly happy with where the game is and think the balance is fine (usually always have) but this is what I would do to make the game more fair and immersive.
-
Killer just simply isn't as bad as this forum makes it out to be. Seems to be where people who are frustrated with game, Survivor and Killer alike, come to vent. Which is fine, feedback is needed for growth. But the us vs. them thing is so unhealthy and these poor devs are just being pulled back and forth like tug of war and never get enough credit for how much they are clearly trying to make both sides happy. Eruption just flat out needed to be nerfed because it was promoting unhealthy gameplay. I honestly didn't mind it in most games but the Killers who relentlessly tunnel and try to hold a three gen by kicking with Eruption in between the tunneling was just not fun, winning aside.

That's why i stopped to play this game and no, if you ever look at my history post i never ever ask for buff or nerf, i'm asking to rework many game mechanics and maps those are the problem not DH or Eruption, fix the majority of the killers instead of pushing out a new one while the oldest killers are in a such horrible status right now, place a cap of generation repair buff, rework the layout of the maps, remove several pallets and make them unsafe and more and more..
If you are only going to play a game when everything about the balance has to be in your favor to like it, maybe the game just isn't for you. The devs already reworked all of the old maps, changing them again is unlikely to happen. Maybe tiny fixes at best. They seem to have a direction in mind on what they believe is balanced about the maps otherwise they wouldn't be this way. And no, it's not because they hate Killer mains. Trust, I play Killer too and I hate every version of Badham so much. And old Haddonfield (the new one is a good example of fixing a bad map to fi both sides, a sign that they DO care and are trying to be fair).
-
The fact that there is 20 or so aura reading perks is exactly why Distortion needs to exist as it is. You have to use a whole perk slot to do it, it's rechargeable but not on a cooldown, and aura reading would just run rampant since it's so powerful on some of those perks. It's a fair perk, aura reading is never something you should be relying on. Same goes for Windows of Opportunity users.

Like what ? No, seriously, i'm sure you have more knowledge than me and i don't know those alternatives, can you name me a few ?
"looking how you can improve as killer"
Again, you're for sure more skilled than me, please tell me how i can improve my Mayers/Freddy/Twin/Trapper gameplay, maybe on Decimated Borgo map without using any gen regression perks
"a full potential survivors can stomp most killers to the ground."
I'm sorry i'm confused now, haven't you just said killers are fine and it's just a matter of skill and now "most killers" are going to be stomped against good survivors. So..are killers fine or "most killers sucks" ?
"Balancing wise killer is in a good place."
True, trapper is so in a good place rig..oh wait you meant Blight/Wesker/Spirit are in a good place..is that you meant right ? And for balance you mean exactly what ? They are strong against low level or new players and have no chance against a comp team or even a medium skilled team on almost every map ? Well yes if you mean that yes, killers are balanced.
I'm seriously confused why people play this game if they feel the role they prefer is so miserable and impossible to win with. Always pointing out the worse case scenario for every little thing and act like they have never won a game in their life. Maybe it's an act just to try and get free buffs? I honestly hope it is because this behavior is just mind-boggling to me at this point.
-
So people are going to magically forget that the main thing that was complained about this perk was the distance it gave (on top of invincibility and the way it specifically hurt Killers like Trapper). Now it's gone and here we are...complaining like they didn't fix it.
I guarantee you, this perk gets nerfed into non-existance and Killers will be running AMOK with how much easier the game just got for them. Even if they nerfed Eruption. And then they'll just complain about Sprint Burst. There is a reason it is ran so much....I don't have the time to go into now but it's needed in the meta. Gen speed should be looked at WAY before DH does.
-
Everyone mad that this ruins the horror aspect of the game....this is what the public asked for. All of the most heavily urged suggestions by the community more and more are going to gear this game into a competitive one rather than a survival horror multi-player party game. You can't want Killer buffs that make them more COMPETITIVE but then be mad about this change...it's borderline hypocrisy.
-
Even though most of my games as Survivor and Killer went badly on this map, I still miss it. It provided a different feel and experience like other indoor maps do.
-
Survivor: I just hate Franklin's Demise. Especially if my item is an integral part of my perk synergy strategy. I don't hate it, but Pentimento builds can be very tough to play against if the Killer is smart or the Survivors feed into it.
Killer: Windows is just a silly perk, surprised this even exists. I hate using it as Survivor even though it helps my chases cuz it ruins the immersion, and as Killer you can't tell if they have it until the end. I am also really not enjoying games that have any Boiled Over/altruistic body blocking and hook breaking schemes. Just so annoying.
-
I love how we got the exact two nerfs the community was asking for and yet, still more complaints. Just admit you really wanted her gutted, not balanced out.
Reminds me of all the hate for current Dead Hard. The invincibility and distance got removed and yet here we are, still the most complained about perk by Killers. Why can't we just be happy for once?

The consoles never let you check but if you are like the rest of us you probably have at least a thousand plus. For example, on steam, if I had to guess I would think my DBD playtime was around 600 but in reality it is like 2000 lol
I assume it is definitely in the thousands but I am interested to see the exact number. It may shock me lol. I also have a good chunk of time on my brother's profile as well.
@HugTechLover I will try that and looking into profile options when I get home later, thank you for the tip.
-
Silly question but how do I check on Xbox?!
-
Although I would love a buff and it should get one, it's not completely unusable. I have been having a good run with Dredge using it, Undying and Haunted Grounds. His ability to teleport to apply pressure has people running off their gens quite often. Also, people underestimate how much time people waste once they realize there is Ruin and will hop off gens to find it. This combined with HG can really swing the early game in your favor. Not having to kick gens while it's still up also saves time.
Bad totem spawns are more to blame than anything for its underperformance. Luck is a huge factor and luck is not something you should be relying on in this game.
-
I had this the other day on Saloon. They brought the offering. Two partnered Survivors just continuously going to the upstairs room and were unhookable with BO, one with No Mither. I just kept slugging the No Mither-er until they bled out, the other I caught a couple times too far from the building and eventually killed. It was a very long and arduous match but I eventually 4k'd.
However, I am lucky that the others were slow on gens, and this was BEFORE the new update. So I'm sure I will be battling with this cheesy strategy again soon...
-
They fixed what was the most annoying thing about her, which was her interaction with perks that just made her power overwhelming as opposed to just very strong. She is beatable, you just have to not be predictable. At the highest level she is still going to be a terror, but considering how many Killers still need to be raised up even near her level, this is fine for now.
Maybe with this change they can feel more free to create/change Killer perks that she alone would have broken and gotten nerfed/never even made it through testing.
