@Onionthing hello i think we should narrow this list down to at least 5 possible killer that would be fun and also i want share this concept what do you think ?

Knock yourself out, my only goal was to point out that are plenty of franchise female killers to pull from. People had been focusing on Carrie so much, and thats cool, but I wanted people to know that there were others out there.

I'm a huge horror movie fan (one of the reasons I like this game) so I just wanted to share.

  • If legions power was as fast or just slightly under billys chainsaw, it would be useful for map pressure.

If legions bleed out required a gimmick item like (new) freddy, pig, or plague, it would help to slow down the game.

If legion's power was faster at vaults then they could end loops like Spirit, Nurse and Huntress.

If legion could just stabbity-stabby without breaking their power on a missed swing they could still apply pressure like LF where you don't want to be in proximity of him.

I'm not saying it should be all of these things, but it is NONE of these things. The power is just horrible now.

The ONE thing it has going for it is that you can track players within your terror radius, THAT is pretty nifty and it still can be countered. Is it enough to warrant all the drawbacks? ... Im not so sure about that. It just means I dont have to run (as many) detection perks.

  • Ash - Dark Knight

    Feng min - Rouge

    Nea - Necromancer

  • It happens only when you are in a certain range, and its not always 100%

I don't go out of my way to use and abuse it.

My game style centers around chases and mind games, im also playing to mazimise points. I also play down to the least few gens anyway, I like the preassure. So yeah I use it, but not to the point im 4king with it. I use it if im near by and I need to get someone off a gen for a few seconds. I may even use it to help control which gens are getting done (which I would do anyway with Discordance, Bitter Murmur, Pop goes the weasel, etc.)

Besides If a killer is still bad at tracking, or bad in a chase, its not going to help them much (unless you are the Spirit or Nurse, but even then.)

  • This is a first for me, someone asking for bots in a game.

  • For once a survivor perk I think would be cool. I would also add that there are no scratch marks for this, so I wouldn't be able to catch you and double slug you so easy. I mean, you WOULD be moving slower so no scratch marks would be reasonable.

EDIT: I also think the dragged survivor should still be able to perform the recover action while being dragged.

you know shrine is rng, thats even worse than pay to grind

cause you can't control anything of that, i hate to see some people saying

they don't start this game until system release ruin or bc at shrine

can't like when people new at this game saying they limited at low rank

because of teachable and feel so out of meta

whatever above green all people have things their needs

so what? i think they not only can't adapt this game fast enough

they have to grind first, if they doesn't have least 100h of times they will quit this game

Paying for BP is still P2W sorry...

And I said I was against the shrine Idea.

I said my piece, and Ill say it again ... If this game goes to BP buy, Im finding another game, and so will many others.

  • Maybe ... after a killer hooks a player .. they get teleported to a random location on the map and temporarily blinded.

(This is a JOKE btw, but all too often I feel that this is what baby survivors keep asking for.)

  • I dont know what to tell you bub. If it aint you cup of tea it aint your cup of tea. If it isnt fun, find something fun to do. I take breaks from this game, but I keep coming back because I love the atmosphere, lore, and yes .. even the little toxic turds that play this game. Im like a dog, I have to roll in the stinky stuff even if it know its bad.

  • @Atrushan88 said:

No, but I have to say 100 AC for 100k BP is way too little. You can spend 2000 Iridescent Shards for 150k BP. 100 AC would be worth a lot more imo. Either way I don't think buying BP should be an available option. I think if you want a payable option for learning perks, the BEST possible idea would be to pay money for the option to reroll the shrine once per week. It wouldn't be pay to win, and wouldn't be predatory as you could only do it once a week.

This idea is better than the one above, but since the shrine is RNG, its still lootboxy. I hate lootbox mechanics I have to pay for, i would rather pay money on certainty. The bloodweb is okay because I DONT have to pay for it.

  • Meh .. I don't see why not, it wouldn't be the most efficient way to get your perks, but it would be quick. I like to try to maximize my BP expenditures. I'm too worried about missing out on good perks. Still a fast buy option isnt game breaking. Im for it.

  • Buying blood points? Are you serious?

No way in hell can I support that. Thats borderline P2W right there. I can just buy all my perks with a credit card? True its RNG but then thats just predatory right there.

    What next? Buying Iridescent shards?

  • Survivors have several second chance perks, but killers cant? Why don't we get rid of all aura reading abilities while we are at it. Lets get rid of hexes period. That will TOTALLY balance the game.

As for camping and tunneling, the penalties are there, you could make them even more severe but that wouldn't stop baby killers who don't know any better, or trolls who just want to troll. Short of Killers being just AI driven you cant get all killers "to play the game properly."

  • Silent Hill was great for this as well as various stories about Soldiers or Convicts trying to escape a terrible past, only to get sucked into a nightmare senario. I think a ExCon would be a awesome addition to the game.

As for how would you explain Legion overpowering a Adult who has killed before? Easy ... Entity gave them powers, they really aren't 100% human anymore.

As a "kind of joke but still would be awesome if handled right" one of the survivors offering themselves to the entity to become a killer and betray their friends would be an interesting twist. To end their torment they offer their soul and humanity to become a twisted version of themselves. I vote Nea or David.

My b dude I inferred the tone from the text. Shouldn't have responded like that. Just usually whenever people bring up things like fighting back and stuff it because they think killers OP and they are being outright rude. Doesn't give me a pass to lash out like that though so I apologize.

    No worries.

Again I hear so many survivors say that its boring, but no one seems to come up with ideas to make survivor more fun but still stick to the role of what survivors were/are meant to be. Do we give survivors more activities? Do we give them some measure of control that cant be overly abused?

    I dont know..

As for newbies not reading tutorials or really getting to the heart of the information of how to play; "Kill your friends" was supposed to be practice mode IMHO, but thing is there are so many solo players that you cant really set that up. Tool tips and mini videos could help to explain how perks are supposed to work that's a doable fix. However its hard to get people into a game like this when all they know are battle royales and sandbox troll fests. People are used to hitting back at what hit them and they feel helpless if all they can do is run away. It takes a certain type of player to get into that mindset, DBDs hardcore player base is unique (toxicity aside.)

Im really at a loss trying to figure out real and tangible ways to get newbies into something like this for the long haul.

  • There was this moment where I have played a near perfect game 3 deaths and 3 gens left. This was before the new endgame and I had a poor baby Meg on my map, she was so frustrated she came to me and was probably trying to get killed. Im playing huntress a the time so Im slowly walking the parameter and swinging at the air so she knows to follow me and I show her where the hatch is. She pauses for a moment to look at me then jumps in. I kinda got some warm fuzzies considering Huntresses back story. This was when I first started the game and wasn't as jaded as I am now. I still smile thinking about it.

What are you talking about dude. The thing about gens being kinda boring is like 5 words in a super long post about mostly making the game info more accessible to new players. I had a guy argue with me for 20 min after a game that killers are OP and the survivors should be able to fight back and I told him that's an incredibly stupid idea.

What I'm saying is that compared to all the things you listed gens are probably the most boring thing and people don't do them. I was simply suggesting a way to incentivize people doing the main objective instead of only doing the other things. I understand people are going to be found, downed, and need to be saved. But when everyone abandons the gens after 1 hook for the rest of the game it degrades everyones experience.

I play survivor and killer, I get annoyed as survivor when no one does gens cause then I'm the only one being chased cause the killer only sees me on a gen. I get annoyed as killer cause when everyone hides and no one does gens it takes forever to find people and prolongs the game for like 20 min and it's boring as heck.

Edit: Yo dude I also said in my post that dying as survivor is fine and that people should do more to contribute to the team. How is me saying dying for the team to help get the objective done in any way implying I want survivors to be able to fight back. If anything Head On, pallets, and flashlights are easily enough. Killer should be the power role and the survivors should need to be strategic and non combative.

Hey calm down, im not attacking you. I saw that one thing and focused on it. Im sorry Im trying to participate. I even said I wasn't being sarcastic, if people are bored maybe we need to do something to alleviate the boredom. In not arguing about power, in not arguing about perks, that wasn't the point of my post.

But you are feeling attacked so Ill back out. Nothing for me here. Peace...

  • Survivors can:

    Do gens

Play as bait, looping the killer

    Blind the killer

    Drop pallets on heads

    Rescue from hooks

    Heal friends

    Do Bones

    Sabotage Hooks (perk)

    Throw pebbles (perk)

What else do we want to ad to this list (I am for once being serious and not sarcastic) to make things fun for the survivor without handing them a weapon?

Maybe a one time only killer trap? The Killer has to do a skill check to get out?

Or perhaps interact with the environment to close a gate in one spot but it opens in another (the killer can also interact with said switch)

    Im really stretching here.

  • @53nation said:

I'd like a new mode where everything is randomized. Random killer chosen for you. Random perks assigned. Random survivor skin and perks provided. A bunch of other wacky stuff. Idk maybe killers are given another killers main ability. Movement speed be damned! Would make for some interesting youtube material.

Survivor and Killer Roulette built into the game? (hi Dennis Reep)

I would be down for that honestly, you could even up the potential blood points as an incentive.

Anyway need to eliminate one fast in order to not fail the game then i can play relaxed

You either want to finish fast or you want points .. you cannot do both. Points mean you achieve as many objectives as possible. Killing is only one fourth of those objectives. Sorry bruh, tunneling does not do this for you.

  • I know this is pretty much supposed to be another Carrie thread, but here are some other Female Killers to think About:

Baby Firefly - The Devils Rejects

    Clara - [Rec] 3

    Sil - Species

We cant have Jason, but why not Mrs Vorhees?

Queen Akasha from Queen of the Damned (since there has be a rise in asking for Vampires lately)

    Jennifer Check - Jennifer's Body

    Samara Morgan/Sadako - The Ring

    BB - Deadly Friend

Fair enough, sorry to be so extreme about it. The point I was trying to make is that we shouldn't normalize this kind of Stockholm Syndrome-esque view of the game.

I get what you are trying to say, so Ill keep any further (misc) retorts to a minimum. You are NOT wrong in the spirit of things. It is good to criticize the dev team, i just think some people take it a bit far. BHVR has said they recognize the problems that were posted and are looking at ways to fix them. I think that's a good sign at least.

  • @Rydog said:

Those companies are good examples of why size does not necessarily correlate 1:1 with healthy development practices.

Also, @darktrix made the point "It takes a certain type of person to keep at it and not saying this type is better, maybe more damaged. I think we are all damaged." This is a super-broken, dim view of our broad relationship with this game. It shouldn't have to be this unhealthy. "He still loves me, things will change" is usually not an attitude that works out in the victim's favor.

Sorry, while it is a very colorful analogy, I think its a stretch to consider a video game domestic abuse...

  • When you are a youngin - words hurt

When you are a bit older - you hurt back with words

When you are an old salt like me -> You don't care anymore and say "Yes I too like the taste of fingers! NOMNOMNOM!"

  • @Rydog said:

@Onionthing Behaviour employs more than 550 people. I know not everyone there is dedicated to this game specifically, but that is not a small company.

Fair enough ... But I was comparing them to Blizzard and Epic who are in the thousands.

Hey it would be weird to be playing as male and getting the Legion glitch where you heard frank's voice over someone like susie

Oh god! That glitch :( I want my Susie's voice back!

  • 1) Spirit

I'm almost P3 with her. My only killer who I have even bothered to Prestige. So yeah shes my main.

The others I play when I need a break

    2) Wraith

    3) Hag

    4) Legion (Susie)

  • (i) BHVR doesn't have the time, personnel or money to monitor and referee every match. Which is what this is starting to boil down too. Programming for something that is situational and player driven is very difficult without changing the entire mechanics of the game.

(ii) Yes there are some bugs and while I love for a game to not have bugs, most online games that are ever evolving cannot escape them. In order not to have bugs this game would need to never introduce new game mechanics or killers and just focus on cosmetics. That would bore the crud out of me. Every multiplayer game has its bugs, the bigger the company the faster the fixes. BHVR is still pretty small, that's why I cut them so much slack.

(iii) I agree, which is why I play killer most of the time, easier to solo and and feed blood points to my survivors that way. Again you cant MAKE people "play the right way" this is the curse of online games, and humans as a whole are selfish. Playing even the crappiest of games is always more fun with you friends. (I don't think this game is crappy .. im just saying.)

(iv) I agree with you there. A tutorial mode would be very NICE to get newbies up to speed. I could have sworn there was one. If there isn't it needs to be added. Another nice thing that some Asian based games add are "preview movies" that demonstrate the perk in action, just a little pre recorded window, nothing intrusive, so people can see how the perk works in real-time. As for the grind. The grind doesnt bother me, but I like grindy games so thats just me.

    (v) For the game to be truly balanced Killers need a fat HP bar (4 times as much as the Survivors) and all the survivors need guns. Remove all perks, remove gens, and turn it into a free for all kill fest. But that's not this game, Survivors are in fact victims, and its hard for people to get into that role. People play games to feel badass, not to feel helpless, but that what the Survivor is supposed to be, helpless in the face of the Entity. As a player you could show them "Toxic Survivor X" video's on you tube to lessen the impact and teach them its funny and fun to tease the guy "with all the power." Perks are an issue yes, but you cant play hard counters in this game when you are constantly trying to instill a sense of fear and dread. Being creative with what you are given is what makes survivor fun (for me.. when I decide to play it.)

  • SPIRIT IS AWESOME!!!!!!

  • I want people to stop laughing at my Susie ... She gets sad when the big kids keep bullying her. Buff Susie plz.

  • Just put force fields around everyone, and replace the killers weapon with a squeaky hammer.

Or better yet add a "nope you didnt hit me! Yes I DID! NO YOU DIDN'T ... IM telling my MOM!" perk.

Or better still! Just remove killers and Survivors and just press spacebar for points.

    😱

  • If they are were to add male skins to Pig (which they arent) I would want all of the female characters to have male skins, then I want female skins for all of the male characters. I would totally love a Female Michelle Meyers or a Fergie Kruegar. "Just change the story..." Right? It would be all good Riiiiiigggghhht?!

    Again not gonna happen...

This is supposed to be Legions gimmick, and it should stay Legion's gimmick since it is one of very few things Legion has going for it right now.

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

    @Onionthing

They're pretty rare, don't last that long, only for specific cosmetics, and don't even lower the Auric Cell price. You have to save up 21.6k shards in around a week. If you didn't happen to have a lot of shards saved up by the time the sale happens, then you're screwed. I don't think we are told about it until the day of or before the sale, so we have no time to save up shards. It's basically "Hey do you happen to have a lot of shards on you? We're going to put select cosmetics on sale for a week! Oh you barely have any shards saved up? Oh well sucks to be you!"

Ahh .. well ... I spend McDonalds money here and there on the game so this doesn't bother me too much and there aren't many cosmetics I want in the game. I can see why (some) people are displeased tho.

  • Remove all killing and dying, add pillows rainbows and tea parties. Yes ... I Fixed the game!

  • Quentin had the unfortunate curse of not being Nancy.

  • If you need a bit of help here is what you can do: play S1H1

    Slug 1

    Hook 1

Keep aware of who you are hitting. This is harder when people are dressing the same. To maximize your points you want to chase, hook, break pallets, stomp gens as many times as possible. This means not rushing the game. Do note that you will probably not get a 4K (at first) if you are playing to maximize blood points. With practice however, perfect matches will come. Don't let youtube fool you Perfect matches are cherry picked from a buncha failed matches. If you yourself are willing to slow down and look at the big picture you will see your BP yield improve by a lot.

Survivors may not be entirely grateful for this method but they are getting points too for unhooking, healing, getting chased, so on an so forth. So don't feel too bad, playing a "long game" is good for them too.

Of course this can be ruined when you have gen rushing fools not interested in blood points.

  • Wait for a sale? They happen you know ...

  • Again people keep asking for Survivor powers. I'll make this short, Killers have to deal with tier lists. Period. Do you reaaaaallly want survivors with tier lists? Do you really want posts on which party set up you NEED to take to be viable? Do you want people leaving the lobby because you are not using a proper tier Survivor? Seriously .. be careful what you ask for.

  • I get where you are going with this. Honestly its a better idea than giving survivors "powers" which would be its own can of worms. However, think of it this way: You have sacrifices that give you more blood points in certain categories anyway, they are supposed to encourage a certain play-style. If survivors were to pigeon hole themselves into certain roles for better points or even better skill check chances, then Killers (by which I am a main) would have even more of a reason to tunnel down certain survivors in a specific order (The first to go is always the healer.)

Lastly, imagine, you arent on coms, everyone has picked Gen jockey and every one knows there is a penalty. Watch the lobby empty out for minutes on end as people fight over what roles they want to be and what is "the most optimal way to play."

I get that you want to spice up survivor but honestly the tools are already there with perks and sacrifices.

  • no .. do bones ... noeds weakness is right there ...

  • I'm a killer main as well. If you haven't developed a strategy for Survivors using DS or any of their other "abusive perks" I don't know what to tell ya. Especially after your 2 years of experience.

DS gets slugged, its easy as that, if they are all running DS, you know what that means?

Yup , open your mailbox cause that salt is raining in!

  • I congratulate all the winners and think they should keep up the good work.

For those who did not get picked, this does not mean you are not a good designer/artist. Some of the designs were beautiful! Contests are subjective and the judges are humans, not computers that check tally marks. Judges are just going to gel with things they like and think look good. You know that old saying you cant please everyone? Try again when the next contest comes along and by all means HAVE FUN! Art is supposed to be about EXPRESSION not PERFECTION.

    😋

  • Billy is a god versus lowbies and baby survivors who don't know the game well enough yet. Billy gets bullied by veteran survivors who know how to properly use the environment against him.

Keep practicing, eventually you wont care about Billy ..

It will be Nurse and Spirit you will be back on the forums asking for nerfs to their kits.

  • No I don't think they have reached their limit of what can be done. This was proven when they changed endgame. No I don't think they are lacking creativity, They keep coming up with new killers, none of which play like the other. They keep coming up with new perks, which oddly do not over lap.

When it comes to content I think they are doing a PHENOMENAL job with the tiny box they have given themselves. My complaints only come with balance issues NOT creativity.

If you are feeling like the game is lacking spark maybe you are burnt out, take a break, come back in a few weeks. Trust me it helps.

Also, seriously, when you think of the slasher genre as a whole; how much "creativity" do you think is in there? Yet it was (and in some ways still is) a multi million dollar franchise. We have a long way to go before we are "out of ideas."

  • The lag on console is terrible. No matter what we survivors do the killer always lands his hits. Every match I experience this.

This should go in bug reports bruh.

  • whaaaaat?! What what ?! WHAAAT?!

I create in both digital AND traditional media. Time and effort is what matters not the tools. YOU ARE SAYING THAT DIGITAL ARTIST DONT HAVE ANY TALENT!?

    Wait ...

    Wait ...

    Awwwhhhaaaaaaaa haaaaa..... hahaaahaaaa...

You got me... yeah you got me.. :)

Nice bait. Very nice! Well played.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 9
