Definitely does not help. The newest patch has actually broke the game for me. Vault a window, lag out... get spun around... frozen in place and downed.
I really hope they extend the rift. Or change all my challenges to things like;
Miss 3 skill checks due to lag
In 1 game, freeze mid vault 7 times
Sorry to hear that, I was just trying to spread the word since supposedly helped my friend have less issues with this chapter.

Every time I disable crossplay I either get stuck with people that don’t do anything or get messaged by trolls. Between glitches and putting up with that, I choose the glitches.
That sounds like the normal PC day lol.
Sorry to hear you get those kind of teammates, this is why people use SWF and stuff, to not have to deal with players that don't do anything.

Unwritten rules don't exist anymore.
But some people that played this game like many of us before 2018 here are a few things.
1. A survivor waving on hook means that they are getting camp, just leave and do gens (now a days don't mean anything)
2. Don't BM unless you can take BM back.
3. The 2 gestures, 1, the point at them usually means the killer is overthere, sometimes they just want you to leave the gen or place, and the come gesture, usually just means that, if you want you can spam the come gesture and buttslap your teammates.
4. Don't steal from your survivor teammates, by that I mean don't item tech, don't steal their chest unless it's a medkit and you need to heal yourself.
5. Noed eyes, this is a very common thing from back in the day, if the killer has glowy eyes, yes just do totems, usually those killers use noed as their first perk, rarely you see glow eyes without noed.
6. If you are upset, just say ggs and move on, don't argue with people as it will only give you headaches.
7. Use bond to help yourself and not sandbag your teammates.
8. Be careful of using certain cosmetics like p3 claudette, you might get tunneled and sometimes your teammates will actually sandbag you if they see you hiding only.
Hopefully this helps a bit since I don't remember more unwritten rules.

This is when I'm thankful I moved to pc a long time ago, you console players are always getting the low end (like that optimization that was promised 2 years ago).
Now an unplayable event, GGs bhvr, there are more players on console than on pc every day and now they are having issues just PLAYING the game, they did it this year.
Best of luck you console buds, hopefully they extend the event or something so you can at least get some grind in.
-
Spirit with no stridor it's a 50/50, spirit with stridor is almost always a guarantee hit, waiting for that person to say "just outsmart her".
Sadly there are only 2 perks that help against a non stridor spirit which are iron will and lucky break.
-
Perks like resilience, IW, dead hard, this is not happening all of those can be used right away if you are using no mither.

Old ruin is why things moved more slowly
Even when it got broken it was still really slow compared to now

How is it different from old dbd? Just want to know since i am a new player.
Old dbd for some reason everything was done slowly, killers had breathing time, survivors had a chance to do totems/chest etc, killers sweat less since in most matches there was old ruin, survivors outplayed killers for reals unlike now a days.
Way less bugs or limits such as cooldowns like overheat as an example.
Before as an old billy main, I was able to curve all I wanted without fearing of missing a chainsaw and lose 3 gens, p2p was better than dedicated servers.
Both sides were less optimal and more fun.
Fun fact: if survivors abused infinites and such, other survivors actually sandbagged the infinite abuser and never unhooked him, killers if a survivor was actually being trolled or sandbag for reals they usually gave that person a break.
This game is way more balanced than it was 2 years ago yes, is it more fun? Nope not at all, in fact I prefer there being overpowered stuff that was fun compared to current dbd.
-
I have never heard of survivors liking twins as a killer, no joke but if there is something I could remove from the game it would be the twins, a slug fest of a killer who most of the time puts victor under the hook before hooking just to camp.
-
I would need to get buff af so no, I wouldn't cosplay as my main which is Oni, as survivor I mean I could always crossdress and dress as Cheryl lol
-
I avoid people with TTVs in their name because of experiences that I've had with them.
I have played against a few big streamers that usually don't care, like I've played with Tofu, Ralph, Cope and they usually just say GGs and move on.
Small streamers in the other hand are usually very entitled, a few days ago I played against a TTV who lost as killer and started using slurs, sexuality shaming if that makes sense, they weren't live when they were saying that but I did reported their steam profile for that.
-
People think that I BM when I just don't like Elodie's hook scream, so I instantly hit Elodie on hook.
Other thing that people get mad at me when I play the game is BM returning, funny how this community likes to BM but get upset when people BM them back.
Anyways, people will find an excuse and blame anything that moves so they are mad at you because they lost.
-
So we should say, survivors are holding forward?.
Jokes aside, it is what it is, this is what dbd has become, killers being carried by bloodlust and survivors getting carried by exhaustion perks and holding W.
I play mostly killer, and I've seen many players start just holding W when I'm not even close to them (like 30 meters or so), no it's not toxic but I guess everything is toxic these days, looping was fun but those days are gone.
Now to my point, holding w is a really strong thing that requires no skill such as facecamping and it's very optimal too, that is why people started using gen regression builds more than before, I too play survivor really often and for about 3-4 hours a day and even then I do see people just not looping just holding W against every single killer.
Is it fun? Not at all, is it the best thing to do? For sure 100%, does it require skill? Nope, are you outplaying or outsmarting the other side? Not at all.
This game is becoming more and more popular so these things are becoming more and more annoying, it's like on dbd tournaments, do you see survivors looping? Rarely especially since killers there only play either spirit or nurse, are they not good players? In fact they are probably extremely good players who knows that holding w is the best thing to do, since it does waste a lot of time for the killer.
-
Bloodhunt, haven't heard that in like 2 years.
Good thing that bhvr wants to do something about the grinding.
-
Bond for favorite survivor perk.
I guess BBQ as killer as I run it with every single killer even if doesn't benefit them.
-

I don't play a huge amount - Usually just pop on to grind out the rift challenges / play a few matches a day.
I'm at 65 with 18 days left and just a few challenges into the new rift.
:3
100% true, I've been burnt out on dbd, now I just do my dailies and leave, even I finished the rift on 30 days for the rift to close, this change was good.

Nobody is saying killers like Slinger and Twins are OP. They. Aren't. Fun. I'm not sure why so many struggle to wrap their head around the concept that something can be technically balanced but unfun overall.
Half the killers they've released since the Freddy rework are "press M2 to zone for free or actually do the thing instead". It's braindead gameplay. It's no accident that most of the killers deemed "most fun" are the ones that actually require a good amount of mechanical skill and have some back and forth in the chase.
People don't understand that OP and oppressive are two different things.
-
Hey Sluzzy how you been? I missed your threads.
-
Addonless, 100% trickster which is mostly how I play dbd unless doing a personal challenge.
But with map changes I just think that trapper is getting nerfed and nerfed since grass is really bad now.
But I guess it depends on the players.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was a typo again.

Weird I still have them, just like you I bought 2 pieces for both leon and jill, I can still use them, if I take them off and put them on I get the head cosmetic for free, like I can use the full linked set without even owning the full set.

A friend of mine had that combo, gotta love goth girl Cheryl.
You and your friend have great taste, good thing we got that fixed instead of you know real game breaking bugs.
-
My fav survivor cosmetics got linked again so I no longer have it but just think of Cheryl with the black hair new beginning outfit, the black shirt and Cybil's pants.
-
But when you do all 3 of those things you are a sweat hard player lol
-
I used to watch it back in 2017 then I got it early 2018, game seemed like a lot of fun, I started and MM destroyed me, quit for about 3 months, picked it up again until now.

Its very safe to say that I am a better player. In fact you are probably just jealous because of my epic survivor skills.
I mean you refused them a 1v1 against your "epic survivor skills", so I guess you are all bark.
Accept them, I wanna see your "epic survivor skills" I want to see why would I be jealous.

How can anyone believe that? Source: just trust me bruh.
I have not played against moundshroud but by how he/she talks I can say that he/she is a good to great player.
I suggest not confirming that you are better than someone else without even playing against them.

I just want to see if people can prove that they would "destroy" others.

I see a lot of complaining on here about how awful and difficult it is to play killer, how unfair the game is, yet most of you are killer mains. So why is that?
I played killer only for a long time and it was just too easy. After that initial learning of the game, I never had to get better or develop new skill so I switched to survivor. I also like the teamwork aspect. So, why do you continue to play killer if it’s so bad and makes you angry?
Show a vid and show your rank, I wanna see you play, I wanna see a killer player your caliber since you seem to be really good.
Because you honestly should stream and make a living out of playing killer since it's not hard or anything.

Iron Maiden seems so stupid IMO. Does it ever work in the killers advantage? You could use no perks and get a 4K with her busted hit boxes and heat seeking hatchets.
Killers using perks seem stupid for you in general bud, can you make your comments a little bit spicy like Sluzzy? At least they are funny.

Is Bitter murmur really that good? I glaze over that perk all the time. And whispers? I have tried that before but honestly it just confuses me more than anything else. Can never understand where they're at.
With bitter murmur you can actually get some sick snipes after they complete a gen, you can basically guess what they are going to do next for a few seconds and if they manage to do all gens you get to see everyone for 10 seconds, it is amazing with huntress.
For whispers you need to know how whispers work, which basically tells you if someone is within 32 meters in front of you or on your sides, it is a very tricky perk and I suck at explaining but once you get used to whispers it is an amazing perk.

And also please listen to this person. They have an icon of STBL and are telling you to not use it? That should tell you something I would hope. Huntress (when learned/mastered) is so powerful because of her hatchets so quite frankly running around building up STBL meh. She's not the best candidate even though she appears to be (can down obsession with hatchet).
Thanks for seeing my icon, I'm a stbfl addict, but yeah everything you said is true, she seems like she could be a perfect stbfl user but in reality no since she is a 4.4/110% ranged killer.
-
Stbfl is not worth it on huntress and beast of pray just no, IM and Bbq sure 100%.
Huntress benefits from tracking perks a lot, or aura reading, you can just change stbfl or beast of pray for bitter murmur and whispers and you are golden.

@OldHunterLight The roar serves as a mechanic to know when Billy starts chainsawing even without having line of sight on him IT bassicly servs a mechanic to add him more counter play.
@GeneralV i personally think its just The lack of a decent power and good addons that acctually makes The overheat feel so bad and i just want The overheat to stay to have The sound of the heated saw but i would say yea it could be removed but i made a rework for how behaviour wants Billy to be but if you dont have The overheat i dont think there would be any creative addons besides making a tremendous decreas charge Time and more speed
Yes the roar serves as a counter play, but you know what else does, the chainsaw noise, you were able to tell from which side Billy was going to curve or use the chainsaw just by the noise.
Billy has plenty on counterplay the only thing that he needed changed was addons and I'm talking about charge reduction addons, example bulb, spark plug etc.
Everything that bhvr added to Billy was really not needed as Billy had a lot of counterplay already.

That depends on the gen spread. If someone isn't dead by the time there is one gen left, that usually leads to a loss.
Then that would also depend on the survivor skill because you asked for a sweet spot, I think a sweet spot is 1 min to 1:30, since for some reason killers now a days don't know when to give up.
Anyways if we are going to use variables we can also assume that the killer can use perks like stbfl or whatever, losing 3 gens when you are stacking stbfl can help quite a lot.
-
@Steah said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2298439#Comment_2298439
90 seconds to dosn someone is the equivalent of taking 10 seconds to find a gen and complete it start to finish. That isn't even counting the time it takes for a killer to track and find a survivor or the additional time it takes to hook. If your first chase is a 90 second down, don't be surpised when you are 3 gens down with 1 hook.
But midgame is when the game becomes easier usually, that is the trade off, losing 3 gens does not mean that you already lost.
-
I rarely use ruin, fact after the change I usually just use either no slowdowns, corrupt or pop on killers that I know how to use, corrupt and pop on killers that I'm not familiar.

Same here. I use Bl occasionally but Head on is too fun to not use
Exactly, head on is one of those addictive perks to not use, and your idea would help a lot for solo queue head on.
Short story: I was solo like usual, my build constantly uses meme perks like head on and pebble, if the other survivors knew I had head on I could've helped, so the killer in egc asked me if I was swf because I managed to head on save once, I just said nope, I don't usually play swf, apparently the killer liked that and sent me a friend request.
Imagine all the nice things I could've done if people knew I had it
-
Maybe this is me going out of my way, but did you watch Otz's 1v1 cowshed, first place wasted almost all resources and 2nd place still had half, the time difference was about 15 seconds iirc between 1st and 2nd place.
A chase for a killer should be fast as possible so more or less 1 to 1 1/2 min
-
@Phasmamain said:
So if you used or had a teammate with blast mine you’ll know when it activates the gen that has it will become shiny. I think we should do this to head on to make it better in solo Queue games
Thoughts on this?
This is a great idea, I support it since head on is the only exhaustion perk that I do use consistently.

Yeah, in order for it to return this bug must go.
I remember when I managed to get a Dream Transition into a Hatch Grab. That was probably my best play ever, and it is sad to think that I cannot do it anymore.
That sounds amazing, especially with the timer freddy had, I didn't know that was possible, good to know that it was.

Agreed. It is one of the countless things from the past that I would love to see in-game again.
Same, at least once they fix the grab desync and the grab bug that sometimes makes killers not be able to do anything not even drop the survivor.
-
You again with survivor sided threads? At least make them funny like Sluzzy.
"According to data" according to data Lithe was the most used exhaustion perk even when I never saw Lithe, according to data OoO users were the ones that escaped less often, don't look at variables right.
Killers after the ruin change had to learn how to play less casual and more ruthless so in other words they were forced to learn how to play better, survivors on the other hand only had to relearn how to play new tiles or changed tiles while not having to be decent at hitting skillchecks.
-

-
My first match ever...... I don't want to talk about it..... It was horrible made me quit dbd for like 3 months..... I was trapper with no perks against 3 red ranks and 1 brown rank, back when matchmaking was more broken, we had semi infinites not like the 2016 ones but close, they also brought insta heals I got what people call these days bullied.
My first survivor match in the other hand, the killer was doc, gave me the exit because of how bad I was.
