I usually allow the last survivor to and/or those who have bested me in a fair match. I will admit, however, I can get pretty bloodthirsty 😂🐷🔪

You should get her Black Jacket outfit for those insatiable bloodthirst moods. Amanda looks great in Black 😎🐷🔪

Also @CountOfTheFog has a PSA about Distressing on Pig.

  • OG Pig endgame build, hook grabs, no gen kick limit, Eboni and Green Mori before most recent changes, and hatch grabs

The go next prevention is pretty annoying when you can't get out of an unwinnable match.

I really don't see what all the fuss is about with the AFK system. I haven't encountered crows once, even in games where I had to stealth for a period. It seems like many players might be *much* less efficient than they realize. There's a common complaint that players in solo queue don't do gens. Not saying the system is perfect, but I think players who aren't efficient on gens are encountering these crows.

Just to provide my own perspective on afk crows let me tell you a story. I recently was working on a gen with a teammate on hook a little bit away but directly in front of me. I get pushed off because killer comes to check my gen since it's closest to hook and I hide behind a wall for ~7-10 seconds while he is still patrolling the area with increasing interest since gen is pretty far along. I decide to be stealthy and crouch walk in an attempt to circle around behind cover and go for the unhook after about 10 seconds of him staying around my gen. Before I make it even halfway around to the hooked person I have afk crow. Remind you, this is my first experience getting crows, and now I am shaking my head in agreeance with the rest at how silly this system really is.

In less than 25 seconds I was flagged for checks notes hiding from killer patrolling the area around my progressed generator and simply walking.

lol I try to control when my survivors will try to boop. My goal is to honor all boops, but also keep my MMR from tanking :D

Also, if someone tries to bm, booping may be pulled off the table ;)

    Very respectable

I've been on hiatus from DBD for about 1-2 years and just re-downloaded this week. I got back into playing Amanda (previously an okay Sadako main) and, after watching/reading guides and actually play testing, I've been doing really well. It's good to know I'm not the only Pig main in the world. All hail the Oink Queen!

Welcome back to the grind. Any particular streamers you've been watching to get back into killing form? 🐷 All hail our fair lady Amanda

  • I couldn't imagine being a new player in 9.0.0 because I wouldn't even want to stick around after experiencing this ######### gameplay. Dogwater update.

  • Big agree about teleporting to hooked survivors. They straight up don't even let Dredge or Artist use their powers next to hooked survs for a reason

  • I'm sorry if I can't help but grin at this obvious failure of a system doing what any rational and sane person knew it would do and said it would do…The schadenfreude here is just too intoxicating. 😅

Let them enjoy it. You get what you ask for. I saw some y'all begging, pleading, even groveling for this. That BHVR was surely going to get it right this time (while conveniently ignoring the 1,000,000 examples of them not getting it right). Really giving it to those filthy go-nexters with this one, aye?

  • @Reinami said:

You guys seem to really think that because someone queued up for the "killer" role that you just assume the worst of them. People are intentionally doing this to cause people to get penalties? That is some serial killer level mindset right there.

Oh my sweet summer child. Yes, because this community has shown countless times that it is not above being petty or doing something out of spite to the other side.

  • It's just yet another garbage change in a long list of them that removes a unique part of DBD. They should just remove the burn offerings system at this point because its just wasted space now. There was a time we had a variety of offerings that did different things and it made sense to actually burn offerings, but now its stagnant and the pool of offerings has all but dried up over the years leaving just a few wet spots.

  • They still have killers who are on Terrordrome roster, but not DBD. Darth Vader coming to DBD would be DISASTEROUS and a direct spit in the face to the last remaining players who actually give a damn about the game being about horror icons. I agree, but unfortunately there are little-to-few real horror fans still playing the game, and we're outnumbered by non-horror fans playing the game who don't care about the game's identity. They want it to just be another Fortnite poop-culture cross-over game with any recognizable name, and don't care about horror or the genre itself, only that the killer looks cool or is recognizable. Pumpkinhead or Pennywise would be my choice for getting back to more adult horror.

I understand and respect the view that each player interprets the game through their own values and judges whether a match was good or bad accordingly.

However, since DBD is a PvP game in which real human players confront each other with opposing objectives, it’s entirely natural that many players — especially killers, who are outnumbered and bear sole responsibility for the outcome — seek a clear sense of victory and defeat.

From that perspective, it’s not unreasonable to expect that the moment of victory should be accompanied by an appropriate and satisfying conclusion. When that is missing, it’s only natural for players to feel discomfort or dissatisfaction.

My frustration with the current system doesn’t stem merely from the inconvenience of having to deal with bots. Rather, it comes from the emotional disconnection — the sense that the fulfillment of victory is suddenly cut off.

After carefully making decisions under pressure and finally achieving a 4K, you’re told, “The players you were facing have already moved on to their next match. Please handle the rest against AI.”
That moment of triumph is rendered hollow.
Can you imagine how demoralizing that feels?

To make matters worse, if you find the cleanup bothersome, you’re prompted to press a button labeled “Abandon.”

This feels absurd. It’s as if, after winning a chess match, you’re told, “Your opponent has already left. Please either put away the pieces yourself or abandon the match entirely.”
In a real match, both the winner and loser remain present and conclude the game with a handshake.

The idea of the loser vanishing while the winner silently packs up the board — that’s not a proper competitive experience. It lacks closure, dignity, and respect for the match that just took place.
This kind of structure causes significant stress for killer players in particular.

Of course, I don’t deny that everyone interprets the game differently.
But at the same time, I believe many players would agree that a well-designed competitive game must provide an ending that properly reflects the outcome.

In the current state of DBD, survivors — the losing side — move on without witnessing the conclusion, while the killer — the victor — is left behind to do cleanup alone.
That kind of ending is fundamentally broken.
And the fact that the developers failed to anticipate or design around this leaves me deeply disappointed.

"I believe many players would agree that a well-designed competitive game must provide an ending that properly reflects the outcome."

Except DBD is not a well-designed game, does not promote fair and balanced PVP, and has been bugged for years, so lets stop with all the purist PVP it should be like this nonsense. I'll believe that once Huntress' hatchets and Kaneki's grab isn't getting hits around corners and walls i'm well behind, or when I down a surv who perfectly timed a pallet stun and the swing doesn't fully go through, but it still registers and downs them on the other side. They abandoned, just move on with your life instead of feeling so sad and crushed that they moved on with theirs. This just sounds like a dude who can't get over rejection.

Even worse, you won't just get a DC penalty, you'll LOSE AN ENTIRE GRADE as punishment.

Tbf we come from the era of depipping, so we can take it. Not too bad since you can always just play more to get your grade back, which still nets you more BP along the way.

  • From what I gather from the dev responses on other social platforms, the go next prevention system is active in the early game, but not when the game has progressed past a certain point or past a certain threshold? Someone more plugged-in than I might check that or know more, but going off that one would assume there might be some sort of an internal timer involved? I think it's a good question to ask how the system would distinguish between someone actively giving up rand running to the killer vs. just a really quick tunnel out. If there isn't a good way to distinguish between those cases then I can see the system being used maliciously. We won't know until it arrives or they give us more information about it sadly. It's very ambitious to say the least.

I really don't understand, why survivor mains fight tooth and nails over every little aspect of the abandon feature, but I guess thats just your typical tribalistic behaviour.

Okay, lets humor you: you need to have a special build for the endgame, in order for this to be effective. No one just replaces one of their 4 perks randomly with a Terminus, just in case, and even generally good endgame perks like NWO or NOED are a choice and not in everyones build. This was also never part of the discussion and is actually a strawman you erected, but going by this logic, the abandon feature should never have been impleneted, because there are perks like Unbreakable, Boon: Exponenital, Soul Guard or even No Mither to pick yourself up - but to be honest, that this perks exist doesn't help you in those situations where you get hit by the big, phat toxicity club and you don't have them with you.

The feature is welcomed in a lot of way, but also poses a couple of glaring issues:

    1. If the feature is there to fight toxicity, why does it need to activate the second the last survivor hits the floor? In the culture of DBD there are many interactions and traditions, like hauling someone to hatch, or just the wriggling on the floor contra nodding or spinning, that get totally cut out of the game. In the past I gave a lot of survivors the hatch if they wriggled vigoriously, because that often expressed their frustration and maybe they just needed to escape for a challenge. So if fighting toxicity is the goal, let there be actual toxicity! I suggested 1min as the cut-off, but I guess 30s would be totally okay, too. Sure, the occasional killer could still grief you for 30s and that would technically be wasted time that you could get back by the current abandon system, but 30s is still minor enough that it wouldn't impact anyones gaming time in a meaningful way. I also have not had any spontaneous slug races since this feature was implemented, just the ones the survivors initiated by crouching at the exit area. But I have had survivors DC on my shoulder why I was in the process of dropping them 3 times in order to gift them hatch. So much for fighting toxicity.
    2. Why, oh why, is the abandon feature written in such a strange way that it gives a free out of jailcard in many instances and turns a lot of losses into draws? I don't care too much about MMR, but really, WHY is this part of the feature? This is really the big thing about it, I guess, as many people use it tactically to not ever have any repercussion for losing a match. I don't have all the ins and outs in my head right now, so please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but aren't there even instances were the killer loses something, because the match was considered a draw and not a win? Does this potentially affect achievments and quests?
    3. Why does the game go on for the killer, once the last survivor has opted out of the game, with all other mechanics intact? Really, most killers don´t enjoy playing with bots, we want to engage with real people, too, yet killers have to endure all the busywork of the endgame with bots. I have literally have bots make their 4% roll or slammed powerstruggled paletts in my face, all just extending a game that is already bland and flavourless busywork. When all survivors abandon the match, just let it end for the killer, too, and hand them the kills automatically.
    4. The killers side of the abandon feature is pretty lackluster. They can abandon the match if the survivors haven't touched a gen in 10min, which has ALSO already been weaponized to force a win via 3-genning - you couldn't make this up. Yet the thing that is most yarring for most killers, the actual BMing and toxic boasting at the exit gates, is still in full swing. I kinda get it, a lot of survivors really revel in the joy of the moment and the release of the tension because they won, but its still toxic to rub that in and excuses like "just drive them out" don't really adress the problem, because it is still feeding the trolls. Maybe a middle ground could be found here, ie allowing the killer to abandon the match without repercussion if the exit gates have been opened for 1min and the game is still going on. I guess that the victory boasting of the survivors is kinda hardcoded into DBDs culture and can't be completely stamped out, but so should the opportunity to giving hatch still have a place in killers gameplay.

Aku, respectfully, your post is full of ######### and from reading it, it would seem you know it is too. It shows you wouldn't know the difference between a strawman and the tinman even if I explained it with full-art picture books and a pack of crayons. Your comparisons between perks are apples to oranges, and I'd say they are disingenuous at best and a lazy strawman for your own argument at worst. The audacity to tell me and by proxy everyone else here that No Mither, Soul Guard, and Exponential are comparable to actual endgame perks with value either shows your inexperience, lack of understanding and any nuances of the actual issue at hand, and is kind of insulting to the actual discussion hand by throwing in nothing more than distraction and word salad. Don't take my word for it, go look on Nightlite and check the numbers, Aku.

The statement that was in question in my OG reply, "let’s not argue that the killer still has agency to act and chase survivors out after the gates are powered.” and that is not a true statement. Lets keep it straight to the facts. The FACT that when gates are POWERED by last gen popping. The fact that then very STRONG endgame perks like NOED and NWO, two killer perks with both HIGH pick rate and HIGH kill rates that can clutch games when the GATES are POWERED, come into play. The Fact that there exists other specific endgame perks that can block all vaults and pallets, permenatey leave injured survs unable to heal, and so on that help you secure your objective in the ENDGAME and you don't have to dedicate a whole build to it, that's preposterous. I and many other players regularly see and use a perk like NWO and it integrates perfectly as a flex in any build. And, in case you are wondering, people bring those perks because they provide proven results that WORK. You're arguing against FACT, which makes you WRONG, Aku. Facts don't care about your feelings or what you think is right. When the gates are powered, there are still plenty of strong options killers have to secure kills.

  • @subdl said:

Then why is it not acceptable for the killer to abandon the match after the gates are powered

If survivors are allowed to disconnect the moment they’re downed — because “their time is being wasted” — then surely killers should be allowed to do the same when they decide the match is already lost, right?

And please, let’s not argue that “the killer still has agency to act and chase survivors out after the gates are powered.”
Let’s call it what it really is: a performative role, escorting survivors on their glorious victory lap.
For many killers on the losing end, it’s nothing more than public humiliation and a waste of time.

Survivors are allowed to disconnect because they “don’t want their time wasted.”
Killers, on the other hand, are expected to stay and endure even when there’s nothing left to do but watch.

The fact that this imbalance is not only tolerated, but even described by some as “one of the best things they’ve done for the game” is, frankly, astonishing.

If the gates are powered you still have perks like NWO, Terminus, NaF, NOED, and more that come online and can clutch End-game before EGC is activated. You also have BW when gates are opened if the above doesn't work. You don't want us to tell you the obvious differences?

  • Weird way to say one of the best features and freshest idea they've implemented in the last 10 years. It's so nice not having to be forced to stay in a match longer than necessary just to appease someone's ego. There's been a lot of bad ideas implemented over the years, and the abandon feature is certainly not one of those. Build a bridge and get over it already.

Oni is the only 2v8 killer I would say is actually OP. Legion is awful for the game mode but he isn't OP. Oni just completely takes over the game if the person playing him isn't incompetent.

Legion is awful (for survivors) but for killers he is necessary to have any slowdown to fast gen speeds outside of tunneling or slugging (which doesn't work as well with 8 survs). Even with buffs, the Onis i've seen have struggled to keep up enough pressure to secure a 7-8k. I don't necessarily see either as bad or OP.

It depends entirely on how the player decides to play the match, playing him in a chase-oriented way provides a pretty fun match for survivors. Playing in a gen defense way? Very boring.

  • I love how we have a botanical rift and the resident botanist didn't get anything special. Talk about a missed opportunity.

  • Same response as @LegacySmikey. I keep seeing repeated perks like weaving spiders. It got to a point where I was seeing an invocation perk like at least once a game. I have a similar suspicion that perks are weighted differently. There's just not enough invocations in the game, let alone seeing weaving spiders as often as I have in the event, to justify how often they pop-up in my matches for something truly "random"

  • They're perfect for each other honestly. I'm somewhere between remove Ghoul completely and they can be salvaged, but need a top to bottom rework

I don't either. It is a fine system and they will do whatever is right for it to work. I really have nothing but good things to say about the feature. It's even better system than I thought it would be when I was asking for one. Nothing better to do but worry I guess?

  • Yes, both are toxic. Especially if you are playing Kaneki and are slugging the people trying go next cause they don't want to play with you. 🤷‍♂️

  • It was bareable enough to where you could turn your brain off and just farm bp. Also made me realize the abandon feature is the greatest QoL for farming we've also seen in years. I was getting into games so quickly not having to stick around in a lost match that it made reaching the cap pretty easy.

If they change a few things up next time it would be even better. Mainly the fuel station spawns and powers not working with the new gens. Pig not having her RBTs and basically having to play with 50% of your power was not fun.

Yea it's really abrasive and no-holds barred with the graphic torture content they show. I've had the chance to meet and talk with David Thornton at conventions (great dude btw) and he gets some very "particular" requests when it comes to the poses fans want to do in their paid photo sessions with him.
