If I wanted to win every game I would play nurse, Blight or Spirit. Thankfully, I actually care about playing a balanced game, so I don't.

As a really good killer unless you are facing a 4-man SWF with comms you aren't going to get a fair matchup right now.

I do mostly agree with you, but I can't agree that the unfair match is caused by full SWF premade with VOIP. I'd be willing to argue that even a 3-man SWF can make enough of a difference to make it somewhat unbalanced aswell.

As for 2x2 SWF premades with VOIP, I would no longer say so, as the informations from them aren't shared between each other, but between just one other person instead of between two or three additional people.

Since the Exposed staus is applied to survivors, I don't see why they couldn't be downed.

The question is, do the perks of each killer stack? I have asked a similar question, and I'd be of the opinion that they shouldn't.

I mean, you don't want to face two Pop Goes The Weasel perks per each hook, regardless of who has hooked the survivor, Hex: Haunted Ground, Make Your Choice, as well as other perks alike..

I don't personally have an issue with this but it sort of leads to the idea that SWF team are always these super coordinated teams on comms. From my experience playing SWF and watching people who stream while in a SWF a lot aren't like this.

You're right about that, but that's just because they don't know or can't properly deal with the gathered informations, which makes Solo Queue so weak in comparison.

Even a silly information like the killer's position, where is each survivor at the current moment, or how much is each generator repaired for can change the outcome of the entire match, if you react accordingly and in-time.

I am having a feeling, that the more people play, the more they do learn.. Which does eventually lead to encountering literally every single SWF premade with „god looping skills“, until there'll be next to nobody newbie survivors, making the game even more stale and somewhat losing its charm.

    Yikes. Really, really bad take.

I have 3k hours just on killer. The reason I play survivor more these days? Winning as killer is braindead easy these days.

That's just because MMR doesn't seem to be working as intended, or because you aren't playing at the „peek times“. Another possible reason for that is because you're using specific (currently one of the strongest) killer characters, and relying on META perks.

I do play without gen. regression perks for years, and it's a difference between day and a night whenever I use just one gen. regression perk over the other ones that I just love using and have loved using even when they weren't considered to be META. That does, of course, apply towards add-ons aswell. It's a huge difference to play as Rin without add-ons and then with Mother-Daughter Ring and Dried Cherry Blossom add-on combination.

Details, details, details! As silly as this may sound, they're truly important in this case.

  • I have started to play as a survivor when I've bought the game, with Nea. A few weeks later on, I have decided to give a try to Kate, but without any success, so I have switched to playing as a killer for around a year or something.

Now I knew some basics on how do the killers feel, and that alone has drastically improved my survivor gameplay; I have, then, started to play with Feng 24/7 (because my bias towards asians). I have read all of their lores, and I didn't like them all at all.

Once the Shattered Bloodline Chapter got out, I have tried the new killer out, and Rin was performing so well that I've immdiately decided to play with her the most of the time; Upon reading her lore around three months later on, I have completely fallen for her, and that's the main reason as to why I still do play with her even nowadays.

I got kinda hyped when it came to the All-Kill Chapter, but.. I haven't liked the community's behavior about how Korean Pop is bad and all that stuff around. Long story short, I have enjoyed Yun-Jin's lore aswell, and kinda made her my main.

Nowadays, I do play with Feng or Yun-Jin literally 24/7, while occasionally switching killers from Rin to Anna (because throwing hatchets is satisfying).

I have switched playing with roles in the meantime, dependable on the waiting time. Whenever it was taking forever to play as a survivor, I have switched and played as a killer, and vice-versa.

Thanks to how long I have been playing with Rin back in the day, my MMR has accumulated and I do face SWF premades 24/7, unless I do decide to suffer in queue times and face Solo Queues during the day (which does never happen).

Although I have been touching Kate and other survivors a little in the past few days, I'm still too biased towards Feng, Yun-Jin, and Rin. The moment Michaela gets her Ice Queen outfit, I may switch and play with her most of the time, but that depends mostly on how well they can execute the outfit and meet the teaser's version.

  • I will wait around two weeks and see, if he gets the „supposed and expected“ nerf like literally every single killer got right after release.

I will probably buy the Chapter, regardless.. But definitely not right-away.

First of all, the game wasn’t originally balanced around comms, but it was rebalanced somewhat around it afterwards as an intentional part of the game.

Second of all, you will never ever stop people from queuing up together and using voice. Even if you remove the ability to queue together which would be stupid and kill the game, people could just time queue solo to get together anyways.

Third of all, the way you actually "balance" an unavoidable situation like SWF play is to buff solo to SWF’s level of info and then rebalance the game around all survivors being SWF. The only thing SWF means is being able to share info, not that they’ll actually be good. Then it becomes only balancing around SWF instead of juggling solo and SWF.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3158234#Comment_3158234

I’m sorry you have such a tough time understanding objective reality :(

I do feel like the game is still unbalanced in regards to SWF, even more in regards to SWF with VOIP.

Those queues would be next to impossible or so time consuming that people would simply leave the game entirely or give up on queueing together. When it comes to using voice, the majority of players would've been stopped, as I do strongly doubt that everybody would just grab their phones and talk through them.

That's true, but this requires way too much datas and work, so it's never going to happen. They're never gonna buff Solo Queue to SWF and buff all the killers. Certain players, even those who do play SWF exclusively, are already complaining about how are killers overpowered, despite using VOIP themselves. I don't think that even if the game would've been balanced alike that, the opinion of this minority of Dead by Daylight's playerbase would've changed.

For some unknown reason, Solo Queue is usually getting the short end of the stick, though..

  • She's just as huge problem as SWF with VOIP is.

As long as players are allowed to use voice communications in a game that was meant to be built on the lack of informations in the first place, those two will always be problematic.

Thing is, you can't nerf nurse until you nerf SWF, and nerfing SWF would result in a loss of playerbase, which is like shooting yourself in the foot from the business perspective. You can't do one without other one, and just doing one would've resulted in a loss of money incomes, and therefore even the game's development and life overall.

The way I see it, SWF, especially those with third party programs, do(es) cause the most issues of all the possible stuff that could be causing issues in the first place. Not only they do break the game balancement, but they do also screw up the Solo Queue at the same time by doing so.

Thing is, it's too late to admit mistakes and change it..

As a Billy main I'm not too proud to use M1. I know a lot of other Billy mains will look down on me for that but I don't care. If I can easily get a M1 hit in, I'm taking it.

That's what do I do aswell; I have encountered a few such players, who've lost the entire match just because they were trying to chainsaw everybody.

  • The hate towards Bamboozle, slugging, tunneling, and camping doesn't sound too unpopular to me.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3157328#Comment_3157328

God pallets are annoying because you can't mind game them at all, the "counterplay" to them is pressing spacebar. Of course, no doubt they're healthy for the game, but it doesn't mean they're fun. Counterplay is fun, hence why people hate nurse a lot more than well, other killers. Her counterplay is usually non-existent or extremely difficult to pull off and doesn't even reward you with much.

On your point about gen rushing, it is possible. I went against an efficient group recently who were all spread out on generators with toolboxes that had BNPs. I knew they were spread out because merciless storm activated on one of the generators, while 2 other ones got completed after I hooked the person I was chasing. If I dropped chase, two other gens wouldve most likely been completed, but the game was lost already.

I'm not sure what you mean by coordinated unhooks are not possible unless they're cheating, I'm referring to 2 survivors playing the grab game, making it harder for you to secure the kill on hook, and usually the third survivor will end up bodyblocking the person unhooking so they can't get grabbed.

I don't get what you're trying to say, just because you find it not unfun for the following reasons means that my opinion as well as other's opinions who share a similar feeling are invalidated? By that logic I could say tunneling is fun because you get to be in chase more often than not being tunneled. I don't understand why you're bringing up the reasons you find it not unfun. Fun is subjective.

I may find all these things annoying, but I understand it's people just trying to win as much as they can. Just like how a killer slugging for the 4k is boring as hell, as well as a killer tunneling when they don't have many hooks while gens get finished, but it's just them trying to win as much as they can. You won't get anywhere trying to tell people that the way they're trying to win is "scummy."

So it seems, we do mostly agree with each other, but you've missed a few points that I've made in the response you've been answering to with this one, and that's when it comes to gen. rushing.

I haven't claimed that it's impossible to perform, but that it is only possible if the killer fails to apply the expected or necessary pressure on the survivors, which does only happen in cases the match is unbalanced skill-wise, if the match is balanced skill-wise but unbalanced map-wise, or if the killer makes far too many mistakes. The most common mistake is probably to know when it's better to drop the chase and get back to the generators.. That's the one I do observe the most frequently when I'm playing as a survivor.

I can't say, I have noticed such a strategy towards unhooking. It may be because I do usually manage to injure one or two of the rescuers before they can manage to arrive to the hook; Instead of waiting for their arrival, I do observe the area and go halfway after each of them, while maintaining my distance to make sure that I can land the hit without losing too much of a time or position in regards or in comparison with the other two survivors, who're also nearby. If that happens, it sucks.. There's nothing that could help you, besides a way to take one of them down with just one hit (chainsaws, perks), eight Tokens towards Save The Best For Last, or a lucky grab.. Which is probably not gonna happen, is it? They do know, how to „fake“ it, afterall..

Now that I think about it, I wasn't really trying to say anything, but that gen. rushing exists only if the match is unbalanced ever since the beginning, or if the killer makes too many mistakes. I've also meant to say that certain strategies are unfun to face and that I don't understand, why do people pursue them and complaining about them afterwards, if they were using them a match or two before in the first place.

Overall, what I've meant to say is that there do exist certain strategies which do effectively ruin the matches to other players with little to no downside, while the side performing those match-ruining moves even benefits from them more than it should have - Tunneling is a great example.

I don't really mean to get anywhere by telling people such things; I can remind them of the fact that being considerate towards the feelings of other people is what makes us different from animals, and the rest is up to them. Whether they'll laugh at it and ignore me, that's all onto them. I can show them the way, but it's their decision to choose what to do next.

Bodyblocking sucks, god pallets suck, "rushing gens" sucks. All of these suck, yet I don't complain about them being boring. They're part of the game, and it's just my opponents doing everything in my power to win. I won't slug for the 4k, but I certainly won't shame someone for doing so. Is it boring? Yes. Are they doing it to secure the victory they oh so desire? Yes.

It's the same with the things I just mentioned that survivors do. They use or do these things to secure a win that they oh so desire. Coordinated unhook and body blocking to the exit gates when im trying to secure one kill completely sucks, as I just want one kill. But survivors want the 4 man escape, and they'll do so regardless of my own feelings. I have no problem with this. The problem comes when you expect the opponent to care about your feelings, but you can't give a ######### about theirs.

A utopia where everyone cares about each other's fun sounds amazing. But it's just that, a utopia. It'll never exist.

I wouldn't say that body blocking sucks.. I do certainly prefer things to be this way, as I don't want survivors running through each other; That'd eliminate some interesting setups with bear traps, you know..

Safe pallets are necesary. This may not be a popular opinion, but they are absolutely necessary. There do have to be certain places or areas, where the killer has to rely on his or her power to be able to keep up, and not on the increased movement speed alone. All I can agree with is that there are sometimes way too many of them in comparison with the rest of the maps and realms.

Rushing generators is only possible if the killer fails to apply the expected or necessary amount of pressure - When survivors do refuse to heal and run Resilience and Prove Thyself combo together, for example. I can't really say that gen. rushing does exist, unless the survivors do truly refuse to heal each other and the killer refuses to drop certain chases.

To be honest, I don't understand, what do you consider or see boring when it comes to safe pallets. That you do gotta get rid of them ASAP and that there's no counterplay against them, besides a perk or two? I'm kinda blind here, but it doesn't sound to me like it has to do a thing with fun; It feels more like a bit annoying to face in cases of facing them all repeatedly, which can only happen when you play the game for a long time without a break. To that, I'd say it was bound to happen sooner or later. Nothing will last being fun forever, unless you do take breaks in-between or change some stuff around it.

Coordinated unhook isn't really truly possible, unless the survivors are cheating via VOIP. That has nothing to do with the game, but with the third party softwares, with BHVR, as they were the ones who have allowed it in the first place without giving any sort of a compensation to the killer.

That is a good question for a 2 v 8 scenario. Would your partner see Killer Instinct or any other effect that is triggered by you or not? Personally, I don't think they should unless it's from a perk.

In that case, I must change my opinion.

I'd go with Spirit and Hag; Rin's directional phasing sound would lead their prey straight to Lisa's phantasm traps, making for easy hooks. That'd be a lot of fun.

In terms of effectivity (the most sacrifices), though, it's gotta be Nurse and some killer, who could reliably chase them off of generators - Hag, Hillbilly, or Legion.

  • Hmm, 2 Vs. 8? That alone eliminates all the killers trapping areas, as there'd be no time to set them up..

I'd go with Huntress and and Nurse; Anna can pose a threat when it comes to guarding hooked survivors and certain generators, while Sally could kindly bring them to the necessary hook for Anna to look after.

I have also thought about Spirit and Nurse; Rin could use Furin to cause some panic with Senko Hanabi to chase more effectively and Sally would dominate like usually.

Legion and Spirit do sound good on paper, but would have kinda sucked in practice. Just imagine getting the position reveals during chase with Rin.. That'd be so cool!

Oh, we shall be more specific about their powers. I have assumed that both killers can see each other's powers - For example, when Legion stabs a survivor, Spirit would see all of them via killer instinct aswell, allowing easy chases even while phasing.

  • I do play with Feng and Yun-Jin most of the time, but that's because of the bias I have towards asian people in general.. I dunno, just the shape of their eyes alone is really attractive to me for some reason.

I do never try to sabotage my team, unless the situation is calling for it - Like the current Rift challenge to cleanse ten totems; To make sure that I get it all in one match, I use Counterfource and run around the map like crazy to cleanse them all in time. Yup, I haven't even bothered to heal team mates or repair generators. By the time I have found and cleansed them all, two survivors were already sacrificed, so.. 😅 You could say that it was mostly my fault alone.

Most of the players playing with Yun-Jin are average players, who do literally never grief (at least from my experiences, Europe), but don't know how every single perk in this game works in practice and its descriptions (whereas I do know that after all those years). They tend to repair generators numerous times more efficiently than Feng players, who do seem to engage more frequently in chases - And because the chase has to last for a really long time to leave an impression on me or to make me memorize such a moment, I'm having an opinion that most of them do know the map layouts better than Yun-Jin players, but can loop more efficiently overall once they get to a tile to stall the killer for a while.

If I were to give the last survivor a hatch, it's gonna be Feng or Yun-Jin; The catch is, I don't like wasting their time, so if I get to down and injure Yun-Jin or Feng before somebody else, it's on them and they're going to get hooked.

I'm a bit hurt by the fact that Yun-Jin isn't gonna get the Christmas outfit, and that she doesn't really have a lot of outfits that are different from each other. You know, most of them aren't like her Seoul Socialite and Fire Moon Mourner. Yes, she has recently received a pretty cool outfit, but I can't say that I like how has been her hairstyle done, the type of trousers she wears, her boots, as well as the beret - I do prefer long hairstyles in general.

Actually I read the whole thread. It’s all very subjective a very un-objective.

People are welcome to give their opinions but opinion doesn’t equate to rationale fact.

You and quite a few others find slugging for the 4K unfun, your opinion is noted but that’s all it is your personal opinion.

There are gamers that are fine with it and see it as legit counter play to the hatch. Which well it is.

If the goal is to kill all 4 players and you have two left then not allowing a hatch spawn is a smart play. That’s just rational gameplay.

Now you find that unfun and boring ok, well don’t worry there is a 4min timer so you won’t be held hostage for hours and your team mate can pick you up if they choose too, so gameplay can go on.

But no that’s not good enough for some people.

Some people want their opponent to augment playstyle purely so they can avoid what they don’t like about the game. I’m sorry but expecting your opponent to put your fun ahead of theirs is just silly.

If your opponent doesn’t care and doesn’t slug great but if they want the 4K and slug for it that’s fine too, regardless of what your feelings about it are.

This is my completely unbiased take on it because it’s all legit gameplay. I don’t harbour any I’ll will toward my opponent for making smart plays to their advantage, because it’s a pvp game where that should be expected and my opponent is free to do it if they wish.

Do you expect your opponent to never engage in play that you find unfun?

Even if it’s legit play within the confines of the game rules?

Do you want this rigid idea of the game to apply to everyone forcing all to play how you want?

Can you make rational arguments for one play over another ignoring rationale arguments against?

All these things feed player bias and you are guilty of at least two here. Do you practice the idea of being open to admitting you might be in the wrong or just preach it to others?

Yeah I’m a selfish gamer my fun outweighs the fun of random strangers online, but that’s DBD it can be zero sum and I’m ok with that no matter what side I choose to play.

If you've read the entire thread, why're you responding „like this“?

It's not like I'm calling slugging unfair or whatever else around that term, so I have no clue as to why're you typing such a long response with stuff that wasn't even mentioned in the first place. It almost feels, as if you were trying to prove your point by a wall of text, which as you probably do know better than me, considering how many responses you've shared on this forum in comparison with me, to make people get distracted or sucked in and confuse them, so their responses would get completely off the mark and miss the topic at hand entirely.

Although the rational gameplay to get the 4k is to slug, I do doubt that people do have a time to do that kind of a thing. Most don't, yet, they keep pursuing such a playstyle.

Anyway, I'll get outta the topic and answer your questions..

No, I can't control what others do and I wouldn't even want to control them. I just expect people to play in the way that they, themselves, do like and expect others to play. I haven't found a single player throughout the years, who'd have actually enjoy getting hardcore tunneled and camped, regardless of the price. If they don't find such gameplays fun, why do they do that? That does make them hypocrites, doesn't it?

Oh, good thing you've mentioned it. I do expect people to play within the rules - That is, without cheating. That's not a too demanding expectation, is it?

I wouldn't say I want, but I'd have prefered and liked if players would've actually played in the way that they do, both, enjoy playing and facing. That, however, seems to be too high expectation and more like a dream, doesn't it?

That depends on the topic; Certain topics could be argued about, but the result or point of view of others wouldn't have changed, regardless. Certain topics do leave no place for furthermore rational arguments to be presented, so I can't provide you with a direct answer, unless you do become more specific and explain the situation in-depth.

Practice, hmm.. I wouldn't call it that way, but I do actively discuss things in life about tons of different stuff from various topics, but I'm not willing to give up and admit of bein' mistaken, unless the other person can provide reasonable arguments or points proving that I'm wrong in the first place. In certain situations, I'm willing to admit bein' mistaken if I manage to realize being mistaken on my own; However, because I do tend to read what I'm responding with and thinking about it before even starting to type and after finishing with it, such situations are very rare to me. In most cases, all I can see are obvious grammar mistakes that I do quickly correct, unless somebody has already provided a response or answer towards my response while reading the words I've wanted to correct the way I've meant to type them in the first place.

As for the last point, it sounds like an implication that you've meant to apply towards me; If that's the case, all I can say that it was rude and completely unnecessary. If not, then I won't provide any answer to it, as I'm not sure of how to respond to that.

  • Victor's hitboxes do feel to me like Demogorgon's Shred attacks; Not so long, but ridiculously wide..

Why is one ok and the other not though.

Both are work arounds to Opponent mechanics making them legit play.

Both of you gave examples of work arounds but because of nothing more than factional tribalism one example is legit and one isn’t.

Slugging for the 4K is just as legit as 99’ing the gates which is just as legit as hiding in the endgame. It’s all just gameplay.

This whole thread is just people cherry picking opponent gameplay they don’t like and then using it as an example of player bias. It’s nuts.

It’s also why threads like this just go in circles because no one has rationale argument to make other than “I don’t like this get rid of it” if someone else doesn’t agree then “you’re just biased!” Is the go to response.

It’s all very entertaining but not very productive.

Because survivors not opening the Exit Gates right-away don't ruin the fun or make the match boring for the other players, that's why. I've thought, that much was obvious the moment I have read this - Are you serious right now?

No, certain responses in this thread aren't biased or aimed to be biased whatsoever. Instead of using the mentality of Us Vs. Them, some users here have actually shared their response from a general point of view. I'm assuming, you haven't even bothered reading the responses, have you?

Threads like those tend to go to circles because people don't want to admit being mistaken or wrong, and that's unreasonable and strange. I'd be willing to argue that admitting a mistake does make you look numerous times better than if you were to pretend and argue that you have made no mistake at all.

It is actually possible to present a response that's not biased and acknowledging the issue at hand, but..Why'd you go through all the details when nobody's paying attention to them, right?

So killers should be allowed to slug to avoid the hatch right? Naaah its only allowed when survivors avoid an undesirable mechanic.

Survivors get sacrificed automatically because if they were able to jumpmoff, killers wouldnt go anywhere else BECAUSE theyre able to jumpmoff. The devs rightfully fixed it. If you're bothered by getting instantly saccrificed despite never hasving been hooked before, just dont get found on your way to the hatch or freely powered gates next time. And being the last survivor isnt an achievment, outlasting the other survivors is the laziest way to win a round and sadly a viable option to escape.

Did i trigger you with the word "bias"? Should i have used " favoritism" instead? Just accept you're not gonna escape every time, in fact you should actively stop trying to escape arbitarily every few rounds. Going for the goal is sweaty.

    1. "4k bad, be fine with 3"
    2. " just do a gen, you dont needa escape".
    3. Team version: "we dont need to all escape, if one makes it out the rest should go offer themselves to the killer."

If you think that 2. and 3. are stupid while 1. is normal, then you are indeed survivor biased.

This is a us vs them dscussion about telling someone else to play how you want so my us vs them comment is very much in place.

Killers are allowed to slug, but it sucks.. Not only it's boring for the killer to just wait or search for that one survivor throughout the entire map, but it's also boring for the other two survivors. If it's obvious that none of them is gonna make it out due to the way the killer plays, then I would even go far enough to assume that the fourth survivor (not the slugged one) wouldn't be so much against getting hooked and sacrificed.

I don't care whether I win or lose, just to clarify; I do play both sides actively (that may change, if killer queues do increase to become too long once RE Chapter gets live) and I do enjoy playing the game. I'm satisfied with how I've played, if I manage to loop the killer, for at least, forty seconds in total throughout each match. That's not a lot, that's literally the lowest amount of time your average player is gonna last. Even if I get downed and hooked within ten seconds, I'm fine with that if I get to manage to do some moves or experiences some really weird and funny stuff along the way - Like watching MacMillan stepping into his bear trap and me stepping into another one the moment I notice that.. There are so many examples, but I don't play to win at all costs; I play for fun, I don't care about winning or losing.

If I get camped or tunneled to death, as long as I can waste around two minutes of the killer's time, I'm satisfied and would claim that I've done my job as a part of the team, although it's really not a team based game in Solo Queue, is it? It's just everybody playing on their own instead of with each other.

Hmm.. I'm not sure, I don't really remember, but I wouldn't say I got triggered by it. It's more like I got enraged? I don't actually even know the proper word to describe how I've felt after reading your response those few hours ago, but it was similar to reading somebody else's responses back in the day when and where they were attempting to bait people into arguing and insulting each other..

The listed and mentioned stuff sounds kinda extreme. I'd definitely agree and may promote the first one, as slugging is just unnecessary. I have mentioned in this response quite valid reasons as to why slugging is a bad strategy in terms of how much fun or satisfaction it gives in comparison to the reward. The second one sounds very well aswell - I'd promote it without a doubt, as there's almost nothing else to do in this game. If there's a Rift challenge in your way, though, I can understand why you'd refuse to touch generators a lot.. And the third one, ehhh.. I'd argue that giving up is literally one of the worst possible actions you can choose to do, but if the killer is really experienced and obviously too good for us to outplay him or her, I'd be willing to accept and claim that even if only one gets to escape, we've done a pretty good job.. Even though the results do speak otherwise.

I don't believe, the way you've used your words previously and in the response I'm providing this answer for are in place.. I just wouldn't, as my opinion seems to differ from yours.

Its just a ######### situation for everyone involved. Which shouldn´t be a thing in the first place.

I do completely agree with that, but is there really anything that we can do about it, besides attempting to pursue players to not care about 4k? We're not the developers, so we can't actually dictate the game's development.

Thing is, there's no way to prevent the situation from happening, unless you're using Boon: Exponential and blessing a totem whenever the killer snuffs it out, which'd actively put you into possibly dangerous situations and kinda sabotage your team in the short and long runs, as every second spent elsewhere than on generators is a waste in far too many cases.

I haven't made and official suggestion in a different subforum here yet, but a band-aid could fix it a bit, right? It's not gonna fix it completely, but it's better than nothing.

Adrenaline Vial drastically changes his playstyle. Blighted Crow is countered by mindgaming. Umbra Salts is negligible on everything except console. Pustula Dust is negligible. You don’t need add-ons to turn. You counter Blight by mindgaming.

You can't mindgame, if the killer moves faster than you can get to the side of the tile. That's just unrealistic and would only be possible, if I'd have been faster or play in low MMR.

Survivors 99'ing the gate avoids EGC mechanic. No one cares

Killers gotta give up the win bonus for 4kills for the feelings of the pooor poor survivors. Survivors do not sacrifice themselves if 3 others already escaped, or actually think "hey I totally did enough this round and should totally give up to escape at all". Killers dont even get a chance to recover thr " full win" bonus once a survivor escaped, the last survivor in comparison can still have a second and third chance to get the win/escape bonus via hatch and autopowered doors.

Just because the second and third chance exist dont mean you get those every time.

Community survivor bias is showing again.

Survivors tend to do that to avoid Blood Warden; There's no other counterplay, AFAIK. Those who do that to avoid EGC are bad players, who do usually pay for their mistakes..

Survivors are automatically sacrificed even if the survivor got hooked for the first time the second the game acknowledges that all other survivors have escaped, got killed, or sacrificed.

If you're getting so bothered by the powered Exit Gate, just don't close the Hatch; Escaping through the Hatch doesn't grant you any MMR, if the Hatch has spawned because you the survivor was the last standing in the trial.

Although you're calling others survivor biased, your response is full of a killer bias, which makes it really ironic and hard to take you seriously.

What's with the Me or us Vs. the others mentality? This is seriously outta place here, it doesn't belong here.

Because even if you bring that change first, all it nets you in this game is basically nothing.

Been there, tried that for two years.

Avoiding tunneling, camping, and slugging (outside of avoiding to killer someone too early) at all cost.

Did the survivor aknowledge that? Did they step from the gas? Did they do something for me? Hell no.

At this point there is no longer anything to gain by being nice.

Hence why i stopped to paly this game in the end.

It may bring you self-satisfaction once you start treating the game the way games are meant to be treated - Like ways to distract yourself and to have fun.. So, you should try to do everything in your hands to have as much fun as possible, as long as it's within the rules.

I'm here for over two years, I see no reason as to why I shall stop treating others the way I want others to treat me.. I've even managed to get some really touching compliments by playing the game that way. That is, without all the cheap and dirty strategies, although it couldn't have been helped from time to time (once in a blue moon)..

Yes, survivors - No.. I'd refer to them as players, as they've acknowledged so in the post-game chat. Their gameplay hasn't changed at all, but that's all in the game, so I have no reason to get triggered or bothered by players repeatedly tapping crouching buttons and using their macros to click flashlights numerous times within a second; They're damaging their equipment, it'll be their loss at the end of the day..

Ever since I have stopped playing in that way and treating the matches like Tournaments of some sorts, I am having quite a lot of fun. Sure, there are matches when I won't be having as much fun as I've wanted to.. But that's bound to happen sooner or later. It's not like everyday has to be my day.

I may drop the game for a while once the RE Chapter comes out; If the killer queues do reach past five minutes since 20:00 - 23:00 (UTC+2). Sure, I am having fun playing the game, but it'd get boring in no time, if I were to play only one side, one part of the game..

Generally I ignore buff/nerf threads during the first week after the release. People simply don't know how to play as or against the new killer.

Does that mean, you do start to listen to them after two weeks?

I am havin' a feeling, that most of the threads you're seeing or reading through aren't any different from the ones that you do see half of a year after the Chapter's release..

Reread please. No one is coming. Teammate is switching lockers in the hope I bleed out before the killer finds him.

You'll have to present more details overall.

I've definitely talked about this before, and if the killer keeps running back and forth between the slugged survivor and there's no way to rescue the survivor without taking the hit.. There's nothing else you can do.

It gets even worse, if after reviving your team mate you do notice that there's no way for them to heal up (in case case they don't have Iron Will), so you can say goodbye to your life - It's not possible for him or her to revive you, if no Iron Will is present.. The killer would hear your team mate the moment he or she would get nearby.

I don't think, you'd like to switch places with the slugged survivor.. It's not anything to be enjoy, is it?

  • It's true that this is what Dead by Daylight is kinda famous for.. But, what gives? Do people actually mean the suggested nerfs, or are they just throwing jokes around to have fun?

It doesn't look like they're serious to me, but I have never been good at reading other people's minds.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3155227#Comment_3155227

Tabbing out while being slugged and the other survivor switches lockers or when all survivors are at the gate and the timer runs isn't exactly something I'd consider unsportsmanlike conduct.

If the survivor runs to you and you don't move at all.. Don't react or anything - That's basically being AFK, isn't it?

And the in-game unsportsmanlike conduct does mention AFK to be one of the bannable offenses, as far as I know.

  • Solo Queue experiences do get better the more you move up in MMR, until you start facing killers, who do know the game just as well as you do.. So, they'll fake red stains, place unpredictable and yet effective traps in certain areas, and use perks to fit their gameplay Vs. nonsense generator regression loadouts.

So, you'll be getting actively punished for every single mistake you make - Be it a little miscalculation of half of a second, missclick, hitting a good skill check over great skill check (this ~1% or how much is it, can sometimes result between a finished generator and a generator grab). That's when matches are kinda fun, but start to become too competitive for my liking. I don't enjoy most of them, as I'm not the type of a player to grind the game everyday, remember every single possible RNG of each map and its tiles.. That's just no longer for me.

But, there's also some decent middle ground, which is where you'll be having the most fun; You'll be punished for your mistakes, but not for all of them.. Only for those that the others manage to notice or punish, so a miscalculation of dropped pallet, good over a great skill check from time to time and such stuff won't cost you a hook, sometimes the difference between sacrifices and escape.

And, there's the low and high MMR; In low, survivors are getting so slaughtered that it's not even funny, and high MMR is so biased towards SWF premades with VOIP that playing as a killer is stressful, difficult, and a really negative experience overall.

My point being, as long as you're not facing SWF premades with VOIP as a killer, you'll be having more fun as a survivor playing Solo Queue against mid-high MMR killers. You may be ignored, but there doesn't exist any worse experience in this game than getting matched against SWF premades with VOIP 24/7. Those do treat each match like a Tournament, it simply becomes no place for casual players anymore.

So, I'd argue that who does suffer the most overall and throughout all the years Dead by Daylight has been out were the killers in high MMR. They're there for years, they can't leave it unless they throw hours of their free time degrading their MMR.. And even then they may not be having fun because it's not fun to play against newbies.. There's no challenge, no satisfaction from actually performing well.

Solo Queue, however, is really close to the killers in high MMR in that regard; Luckily, because there are four other players, you may encounter some decent players in your team and against you, creating numerous and mostly more positive possibilities than the ones that do arrive for the killers in mid to high MMR.

And where did i say that? You are implying, that i slug, simply because i compare one thing to another. However, i rarely slug and will never slug for a 4k. I also won´t move when getting slugged and simply tab out.

I tab out on both sides, when the game is over for me. I don´t have to grant the other side some "icing on the cake" and just return to the endgame screen. Where i write gg, no matter how the game went.

Everything else you made up... are just childish implications.

Actually, I haven't even gotten to the part of assuming certain styles of gameplay related to the game; This was all just based on stuff in general, so it could've applied to every single multiplayer game.

I do question the comparison, because I don't share the same point of view, and I have even provided you with reasons as to why my opinion differs from yours. It's up to you to make sense outta it.. That is, if you wanna discuss things or just simply abandon them.

Couldn't tabbing out be seen as unsportsmanlike conduct? With a video evidence, this could possibly lead to.. some punishments, probably temporary bans, I think? That's how it's described in-game, if I'm not mistaken.

Why'd you type „gg“, if you haven't enjoyed or didn't have fun playing the match? That alone doesn't make sense to me. I'm not gonna type „gg“ if I'm certain that I, alone, wasn't the only one who didn't enjoy the match.. But I'd probably type so if I'm certain that two or more other players have had fun, or have very likely had fun.

I am glad that you can see it in this way. Thing is, this was a reaction to your previous response, which was including the same types of words.. Making your previous response one small childish implication aswell..

  • If it becomes impossible to touch the killer in the late evening (UTC+2 20:00 - 23:00), I may be forced to take a break from the game.

I do no longer play Dead by Daylight for five hours everyday, but I'm mostly fine with five matches per a day on both sides nowadays. If it becomes impossible to play as a killer, so if the waiting times get to increase over ~5 minutes, I'll take a break.

I can't, yet, tell if I return back.

  • @Tsulan said:

The issue is, that both things are equally annoying and neither side will stop doing it, no matter how "nice" you played during the match.

Both sides have their way to rub a win into the face of the other side and feel entitled to do so. Its just bad sports.

What, how's that an issue? Are you gonna ignore every other survivor in SWF just because you're convinced that they do mean to „bully“ you? What kind of a logic is that?!

Why do you need others to stop doing something? Why do they have to be the ones to take the first turn, why can't you be the one to take the first turn and stop doing so?

.. Just, yikes. I have no clue, if this is how you do act or if you've meant to make your response sound as if it was coming from some children throwing tantrum just because things aren't going their way, but that's exactly how it sounds to me.

If you desire or want a change, you should be the one to make the first step and show others how it's done.. Not the other way around! We're not livin' in a dream, you can't just wait for an opportunity to arrive to you.. You do have to create those opportunities and motivate people to think alongside you..

Are you.. Serious? This is nothing hard!.. Yet, it feels like you're struggling to get it and try to make a positive change that'd others welcome.. 🙄

  • @Tsulan said:

Yeah its a bad habit. Like staying at the exit gate and waiting for the killer/timer to end.

People shouldn´t do both things. But here we are.

I don't believe, we can compare them, as they're partly different.

The slugged survivor can no longer play, the player can't really revive himself or herself, unless Unbreakable is used or Boon: Exponential is nearby.. Which is literally never the case in Solo Queue. If the killer decides to patrol the area within ~8 meter circles, there's no way to revive the survivor without taking a hit and taking the slugged survivor's place.

On the other hand, the killer can force them to leave by either downing them and making them fall into the Exit area. If they're teabagging and it does bother the killer so much, just walk backwards, make a fast turn to hit the survivor, and turn back. This is nothing diffcult, yet, it's apparently problematic? What?

Well, there you go. Both sides do have a choice; One can leave, the other refuses to presuade them to leave. However, the first case scenario leaves the slugged survivor no choice. No choice, so you can't compare them with each other.

To be honest, I'd welcome a general survivor perk (so, available to all survivors) that'd allow them to crawl at ~85% speed in exchange of bleeding at double the frequency. There could be other requirements to trigger the increased bleeding frequency, like immediatelly alerting crows, making it easier for the killer to keep a track of the downed prey.

Hell, even make the survivor repair the generators ~100% slower, I don't care! I'd still run the perk, just so the killer wouldn't find it exciting and worth it to slugg me for those four minutes.

"it is enough to affect under what kind of an angle he turns while lethal rushing"

I'm not quite sure what you mean. There are 3 upsides to adrenaline vile. +2 rushes, A higher look angle that in turn allows him to do a 180 and the double recovery rate of his tokens. I can only assume you are talking about the higher look angle, but that really does nothing other than wacky flicks that have easy counterplay if you expect them. Adrenaline vial is only broken paired with c33.

It's not like you can actually expect the player to be running this add-on, as most do run Alchemist's Ring and one of the Blighted animals.

To be honest, I see no easy counterplay, if the killer can literally rush at me and make a turn of ~120 and still hit me, which'd be impossible without the add-on(s). Well, I'm fine if the player hits me, but I'm not fine with how those hits do look like! It probably looks on from his point of view like a clear hit, but from my point of view, there was no way that attack has actually and could've actually hit me - Which is why I have decided to run in that direction in the first place.

Although I have talked about the higher look angle, the add-on on its own alone isn't problematic; Like you've mentioned, it becomes problematic only when paired with other add-ons, and there are currently only five or six other add-ons outta twenty that I do face.

They're Alchemist's Ring, Adrenaline Vial, Blighted Crow, Umbra Salts, Blighted Crow, and Pustula Dust. Those add-ons do literally carry players and make landing hits while using lethal rush numerous times easier.

  • @Sava18 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3153821#Comment_3153821

Umbra salts does not affect blights lunge at all. Also it seems like you don't like adrenaline vial and that's understandable from a view of how fast he can cut through resources with it. But there is huge downside to adrenaline vial that you wouldn't know unless you played with it a bit. His lunges no longer retain their directional velocity. Which basically means yeah he can do a 180 but that also means that any form of a spin or dodge counters everything about adrenaline vial except shoulder flicks(survivor and killer hitbox are touching). Not only that any thing with dodgy collision or any efforts to try and correct your rush just doesn't work with this add-on, the reason for that is it takes longer for blight to even start turning on top of the slower turn rates. This add-on is extremely over rated, though it's still good for chewing through pallets against a pre thrower. And just to reiterate umbra salts are one of the worst add-ons he has besides the few that literally downgrade his basekit.

Forgot to say that c-33 even by itself is the best add-on in the game and is very very unskillful pair that with adrenaline vial and survivors get 5ft after a pallet before getting hit. Very disgusting for sure.

It doesn't have to affect the lunge; Like I've described, it is enough to affect under what kind of an angle he turns while lethal rushing. That, by itself, is one of the best add-ons thanks to that. I do know of no other counterplay besides windows, besides making wide turns to force him miss the attack due to getting into too high angle from where he's running, if you ask me.

Although Adrenaline Vial has some downsides, they're not dramtaic enough to force players choose different add-ons.

Like I've described, he's fine on its own; The add-ons do make him problematic, as literally everybody runs the same ones for years already. It's getting quite annoying.

  • I'm not keeping up with the PTB and news from the PTB, so I'm clueless onto the matter at hand.

What I can talk about, however, is the new R.P.D.. In short, in kinda sucks and will become the most killer sided map of them all in no time. I'd be willing to claim that even the new Haddonfield won't be able to keep up, if the change to reduce the amount of pallets gets to apply into the live game.

I have watched a few gameplays of the PTB in R.P.D., and there are literally no pallets? More like dead zones, no windows.. Just straight lines without anything. That'll be such a slaughter in Solo Queue, especially if we get to face MacMillan, Sally, Anna, Adiris, F. J. S. J., or Bubba! The generators are so close to each other that you can literally hear the progress of two generators at the same time.

I'll buy the DLC to get Rebecca's perks, but that's about it, I guess. It's kinda „meh“ by my opinion. I don't care about another M1 killer with a power acting like grappling hook.. That doesn't sound like fun to me. I've actually wanted one of the daughers from the RE: Village into Dead by Daylight, as their powers do feel unique and fun to use, and their outfits.. Yeah, I'm still waiting for the team to release some dresses in Victorian goth style.. But so far, it doesn't sound like we're getting any of them anytime soon (within the following two years).

  • He's fine, but I do hate facing players, who're relying on add-ons to make their curves reach such high angles that'd otherwise be impossible. His lunge while curving seems kinda questionable to me aswell.. I mean, I've received the most questionable hits from him while he was attempting to land a hit while performing the lethal rushes; No other killer in the game have had more questionable hitboxes from my experiences.. Not even the so popular Anna's hatchets.

I'd love to play against players, who're actually good at playing him without add-ons; Thing is, every single match against Blight, there's either an add-on to allow him to curve his lethal rushes under higher angles, to have more tokens, or to increase the recharge rates of tokens. I'd put him into the same unfun category as Rin with Dried Cherry Blossom, if Adrenaline Vial, Blighted Crow, Blighted Rat, Alchemist's Ring, or Umbra Salts add-ons are present. It just feels like the player's getting those hits thanks to the used add-ons instead of being actually being a good player.. Kinda like when M1 killers do run Bamboozle, you know..

  • Definitely? Well, the common sense would presuade me to believe that, but I'd actually like to take a look into the details..

  • I do play for fun, not for bloodpoints, so I can't say that I do have a loadout dedicated to earning bloodpoints ASAP, but.. If I were to choose some, I'll absolutely go with Prove Thyself (I may add-in Bond or Situational Awareness to ensure getting survivors joining me or me joining them for generator repairs), Boon: Circle of Healing (instead of cleansing totems, I'll bless them and get my bloodpoints), and a perk or two dedicated towards aura readings or something else (like Saboteur, and sabotaging a random hook every few seconds for the ~500 or ~1000 more bloodpoints).

When it comes to the killer, I'll go with trapper and attempt to pick the trapped survivors, wraith with Distressing and go for Surprise Attack score events (I may throw-in Soot add-on aswell), Bubba with Distressing and Speed Limiter add-on while focusing on chainsaw hits only, or Rin with Distressing and go for Grudge score events. I may also use Beast of Prey, but that's usually not going to be necessary..

But I think that bans issued by the DBD team actually show on steam. Both the support and the EAC can ban, so I guess that the former counts as steam ban.

I don't know what do you mean with „Steam ban“, but in case the player gets banned, it'll show as a game ban, not as a VAC ban.

  • @The_Krapper said:

I think it depends on what they hack, I've seen with my own eyes a cheating survivor get vac banned mid game it DC'D them while they were spamming themselves on and off the hooked animation, clicked on the profile and it said zero days since last vac ban lmao

I do disagree with that; Dead by Daylight uses EAC, VAC isn't present in Dead by Daylight.

It sounds like a case of stolen account to me; You know.. The usual phising URL addresses and then getting the account. Once acquired, playing some VAC secured games with F2P cheating softwares and getting banned right-away.. And then getting into some other games that the poor owner, who's very likely in desperate attempts trying to get his or her account back, has bought aswell..

  • You're either at low MMR or you're using a few META stuff in your loadout. For example, I do strongly doubt that I'd have a hard time getting 4k with Rin's Dried Cherry Blossom, Mother-Daughter Ring, Call of Brine, Overcharge, Pop Goes The Weasel, and Save The Best For Last.

It also depends on when do you play as a killer, you know? Do play during the day, and you're gonna face Solo Queue 24/7; Those are easy matches, a literal slaughter. Do play during late evenings, and all you're gonna face are SWF premades of three or more players with VOIP 24/7, who're treating each match like as if they were playing a Tournament or something.

Do play without add-ons, gen. regression perks, in high MMR.. And you're gonna think otherwise, because what you're sharing here is a straight-up nonsense or experiences from low MMR.

  • Hmm.. Interesting!

How long is the Dead Hard's window, then? Is the French version correct or is it the English version? I think, we may need a developer or somebody to let us know..

  • It's not really about the character in my case, but about the playstyle the player's promoting. For example, I'm not gonna have fun if the killer keeps camping one survivor and refuses to scare us off of the generators, or whenever I'm getting tunneled because the killer can't end chases as quickly as the situation demands (doesn't know how to run certain tiles, etcetera).

Certain perks do kinda ruin the possible fun I can have while being chases, Bamboozle is the best example I can come up with.. Like, what? You do vault the window and I'm forced to leave the area; Alright, but what am I gonna do if there're no other windows or pallets to allow me to make it to another area without getting injured or downed? There's literally nothing I can do about it.. So, I do get hooked just because the killer has decided to rely on one of the perks. Yeah, that was a lot of fun..- 🙄

When it comes to Pinhead, it's mostly about add-ons; Engineer's Fang is plain unfun to face, and so is kinda the Iridescent Lament Configuration.

  • @burt0r said:

DBD bans aren't necessarily vac ban, right?

You realize, that i haven´t mentioned winning at all and that nostalgia can be desceptive?

People don´t recall all the things from back then. Insta moris, insta gens, pitch black maps and bright white screens wheren´t exactly fun.

Go ahead, i´m sure the devs could switch some old code back on. I guarantee you, that people would hate it after the nostalgia wears off.

I'm pretty sure, most players would've started to complain the moment it'd get introduced and implemented, if that were to ever happen; The game got changed because people were complaining about Claudettes hiding in bushes and dark corners of the map..

you know, after 2500 i'm a bit tired of being disrespected on 8/10 games (i wish i could be lying, but i have a huge wall of screenshots that prove what i just said) just because i play in a way not optimal (aka trying to enjoy the game with the other people). As for me i will never be the 1st to be mean, but i can't tolerate toxicity left unpunished (try to disrespect someone irl and see what will happen afterward)... as i said, i would gave every tools that killer have at their disposal, from addons to perks, in order to have those kind of people OUT FROM THE GAME since they are one of the reasons why this game is becoming more annoying than fun...

It's not like I do enjoy getting insulted myself, but it's better to ignore them. Really. Literally every single attempt to shut them down or whatever could continue the conversation any further will lead to them spilling even more insults; Just ignore them and report them. That's all you can do, unless you're willing to attempt to make them stop with crazily low odds of success and more of a guarantee to get insulted even more..

Videogames, in general, are less fun when people are mean to each other, but most do come from misunderstandings.. For example, just because the killer's camping doesn't mean that he or she has a personal grudge against the camped player, yet, quite a lot of people do wanna see everything in a negative way to excuse their behavior afterwards.

I've literally never found facing Billy scary, but ever since he got a unique chase music.. Damn, the atmosphere has changed and I'm really gettng nervous whenever I'm being chased by him. It's like my mind and heartbeat are running at over a three times higher speed!

  • The perk is fine on its own, but I'd argue that the Shattered Hope should receive some sort of a buff.. Like, disabling the associated Boon perks of the snuffed Boon totem for ~60 seconds? Meaning, if you do snuff out the totem, the survivor who has blessed the totem won't be able to bless any totem for a total of ~60 seconds.

I'd also make Vigil affect the duration of the cooldown.

You know.. To actually make a perk worth the perk slot.

Yep killer goes for as many hooks as possible and doesn't camp/tunnel? Gets insulted and told ez. Typical survivor. You wonder why you get camped/tunneled so much. I'd rather win and get insulted than lose and get insulted

Then people wonder why killers tunnel and camp from the beginning of the match... This is what usually happens if you play "fair": you get trashtalked because you didn't kill anyone. Another reason why this game is becoming boring and unfun after every patch released... I would gladly gave away every perk that killer can use in exchange for a single perk that allows you to kill instantly those kind of survivors...

It's not like that at all; Certain people do act like that, but the overwhelming majority doesn't, and those who do.. Well, just forget them.. Or are you sayin', you'd rather get yourself down to their level and act like them? It sure doesn't look like that to me from the responses you've shared here, so I'm having a bit hard time figuring out the meaning and reasonings for such answers in the first place. Because the only players who don't play that way would've answered that way, your responses do look and sound more like excuses and not actually honest answers.. But, I can't really tell - I don't know you and I'm not gonna judge you.

Be yourselves, be an example for the young teenagers, so they'll learn how to act.. You know, like people, and not like animals.

I joined in December 2018, and I remember looking at the killer roster and I saw Spirit, I knew I had to buy her because her power was very unique and better from the other killers I looked at, and her outfits were just beautiful. I remember the old maps and environment while I played Spirit, and how spooky it looked, very nostalgic for me. After everything that changed throughout the years it kind of hits you in the stomach with memories of how fast time went. I remember old ranks, there weren't no grades back then, I remember grinding blood points for Spirit and getting to rank 1 and Prestige 3. I will always though never forget how powerful Old Spirit was, thinking about it makes me miss it a lot, but current Spirit is still as good and will always be the best. I do miss a lot of the old stuff DBD had to offer.

I've started playing the game in late 2017, so you could say that I've had some experiences already.

What I do miss the most was the horror atmosphere; The fog and how dark those maps were. There were so many bushes, a lot of grass to allow MacMillan to hide bear traps within, as well as more pallets, offering you more bloodpoints towards the brutality category, and so much more..

Nowadays, it's all about getting the generators done and chases; There's no hide and seek, unless we're talking about hiding behind walls.. And that's no longer what fits the horror atmosphere, as the killer can see scratch marks.

There were so many Claudettes wearing black and brown outfits to blend-in, making them literally impossible to spot.. Generators were getting finished within a blink of an eye, but so were being hooked survivors. Mori offerings were actually a threat, whereas they're just for the sake of it nowadays.

I can't relate and agree with you when it comes to Rin's outfits and outfits in general, though; It seems to me that BHVR didn't have a team handling those tasks back in the day, so there were less outfits and they were of much lower quality if you were to compare them with the newest ones.

The game has started to lose its horror atmoshpere shortly after releasing the Shattered Bloodline Chapter, I guess..
