I need to test Wraith and Clown but Trapper didn't get a 2nd trap at base so it's not enough.
-
At least wait to try it before kneejerking this hard. It sounds useful but I'd need to know how long the effects last and if slowdown gas has changed any.
-
I think it needed a change. That being said, it's hard to ignore the disparity between top killer perks being changed and survivor perks. What was that like 3 months or so? Sure wish they worked that quickly on Decisive Strike and Object of Obsession...
-
Unfun things only get changed if they affect survivors. Don't worry, I will tunnel all OoO scum even if I have to depip.

We don't want it triggering on getting downed by an addoned Bear Trap, or going down to Deep Wound, etc. It's better game design if we don't start stacking up a series of exceptions.
I don't know about better. Maybe easier.

For survivor I used to play Kate but now I play Cheryl. For killer I use most of them but I prefer Demo, Ghostface, Pig, and Myers more often.

Ok, so for you the killer situation has not improved at all. Ok.
But has it gotten worse?
Ruin nerf and Nurse nerf was big, sure, but so was the Mettle and DS nerf. Then Maps and clothes were made brighter. Then EGC was introduced. Then maps were reworked to remove all the safe palettes and god loops. Etc.
Sure Ruin was nerfed, but now we have Undying/Ruin instead, which is just as oppressive.
Mistakes for survivors are punished even harder than they used to be, because every map has been reworked to be much harder.
Back 2 years ago Survivors also started genrushing -- it was due to the healing nerfs. Survivors havent genrushed any faster now than they did 2 years ago, and in fact genrushing has been severely nerfed thanks to numerous killer perks and abilities that punish genrushing, along with toolboxes becoming useless.
I'd hardly call reworking the best survivor perk in the game into still being the best survivor perk a nerf. In some ways, it's more oppressive because you could at least dribble if you were near a hook before and there was a disadvantage to not being the obsession. Now, you just instant DS if you meet the requirement, obsession or not. Also Enduring worked on old DS so getting hit with it wasn't as punishing, until they decided to buff new DS to counter Enduring, then nerf Enduring to no longer work on DS, and then leave DS buffed despite the change to Enduring. DS is the strongest its ever been besides release, don't even know why it's still classified as an obsession perk because it's meaningless.
As for ruin, ruin undying is definitely a thing. But ruin requires pressure from the killer which can vary wildly depending on the killer used, unlike old ruin which carried by itself. It's oppressive for sure but only if the killer and player is good, definitely not on the same level as old ruin.
Map reworks have toned down the amount of safe things that survivors can do, but there are still a lot of maps that need changing. Coldwind farm and Haddonfield are especially notorious.
We gotta deal with DS UB DH/SB 4th perk, which just lets them blatantly do ######### right in your face and get away with it, we got keys to deal with, we got giant maps like Purgatory, obscure vision maps like Yamaoka and Coldwind, great wall of Haddonfield. That's ignoring other factors like toxic individuals which is just salt in the wound of already stressful situations or SWFs. At the end of the day, there are less killers playing because its becoming insufferable to play as.
-
They probably consulted the data and scrapped it.
-
There are no reasons to care, you only get harder matches at higher ranks when matchmaking properly works. Until there is a benefit to being high ranked like ranked rewards, it's irrelevant.
-
Hard to come up with something. Undying is in one of those positions where they will have to balance every future hex perk with it in mind. Honestly, it shouldn't exist and I'm pretty sure they nerfed another perk for a similar reason. It might have been Enduring in regards to stuns.
-
I honestly think she'd be just fine if they removed her ability to hear sounds during phasing. Would turn it more into a mindgame with only visual cues that the survivor can play around instead of "You breath, you die."
-
I personally don't mind facing Legion. Still a better experience than a handful of other killers like Deathslinger, Freddy, Nurse, etc.
-
I wouldn't say I mained them but any killer that requires precision I've basically stopped using. I play on console and there is a special kind of frustration when you have the right idea in your head but then you miss.
-
I think it's overrated. Good on mobility killers for sure but on normal killers its usually, "Let's watch which gen is gonna pop before it pops." It's definitely a decent perk on the right killers, but it ain't just gonna replace discordance or surveillance on those other killers.
-
Yeah, it's crazy dude. It blows my mind because they had a better design philosophy in the past. Legion got a rework in the past because he was oppressive, not because he was top tier. That was a good call back then. Nowadays though, it's all about data. OoO is just as oppressive against killers as old Legion was to survivors or old Ruin was to new players, but nah it's fine cause data. The dev even made a comment the other day about how we don't understand statistics or how they're using it. But that's the same person who cited pick and death rates for OoO to defend not changing it and it's just like WOOSH.
I do think that they make some good decisions sometimes but it's hard to get over that one.
-
I've felt this way ever since they introduced battle passes. That ######### doesn't belong in paid games, they already have cosmetics and paid DLC. That's not even getting into the fact that challenges cause you and others to play in ways that detract from the overall experience.
-
How did the devs go from a balance philosophy of, "There are more to our decisions than just data." to "Data say it's fine"?
That's some devolution right there or just someone who doesn't care anymore.

It wouldn't make sense to make DS an exhaustion perk, as there's no speed etc attached to DS...so they'd have to give DS another ability as well as the original one, which will make the perk even stronger as a result. Imagine it having the ability to stun the killer and get a speed boost when dropped - that would make the perk even stronger even if you got exhaustion as a result, it's 2 abilities in one perk slot and gives the opportunity to have 3 other perks instead of 2.
I don't agree with that. Head-on is a perk that stuns the killer, giving no speed boost and that's an exhaustion perk. You could argue that stunning the killer is more useful than a speed burst anyway, as you're gonna cover more ground from a motionless killer.

Sounds like brainwashing.

I'm sorry but this annoys me the most just because you have a full-time job doesn't mean others do as well. Some of us (including me) are really not in the position to be working atm or cannot find a job(s) that are hiring so I have a lot of time on my hands. I understand it sucks for those that don't really have the time to be playing and have families to take care of as do we all but it irritates me when "9 to 5 workers" start complaining about how they don't have enough time to play for rift rewards and then go onto the forums to ask the devs to fix it and make it less "grindy" when you NEED to fix your time management.
Not sure if serious.
-
SWF keeps the game as alive as it is. They are killing the game balance however. Putting a penalty on SWF would be a bad decision, they'd be better off buffing solos and killers so the gap isn't as large.
-
Got it, thanks. I like this outfit.

If you rely on a perk, as killer or survivor, you shouldn't have that perk. If you develop a reliance on a perk and can't win without it, it's because you're not good. I rely on nothing. I actually tend to play better with no perks at all (I don't level up all my survivors, because they are all reskins, and often play random ones that have no perks). I'm aware this comes with experience, but the fact that you called MY skill into question when you literally admit to RELYING on Spine Chill. No. Just no.
You lost this debate the second you admitted that. Get better at the video game, then you're qualified to call my skill into question. Period. I win, end of story.
What is this Clown statement? Literally ignore content in the game and the 4 perks slots the game provides? Maybe I should play blindfolded next, if I can't win a game without sight than I'm relying on a crutch. Seriously, piss off with your superiority complex.
On topic, Spine chill is pretty good. Especially if you're running a build without any healing, it can give you plenty of time to get to a desirable position.
-
I want to say that hit was bullshit but then I see Sprint Burst DS UB Soul Guard and I can only smile.
-
Paragraphs dude.
-
It's immediately obvious whether you're playing against a console Blight or PC Blight based on the hits they land.
-
I saw a video from years ago and you want to know what perks the survivors had? DS Unbreakable DH BT.
-
I think she does take some skill but there is a big difference between a Spirit and a Spirit using a headset. I like the mindgame aspect of phasing a lot but I think the audio part should be removed during phasing so it becomes more of an even mindgame where you're guessing based on your own judgment and visual cues.
-
He is but people will still defend his badly designed instant ADS. I'd rather face Spirit because there is still some semblance of counterplay during phasing. Unless you can react in milliseconds you're not reacting, you're guessing to his shots. And like I heard a streamer say the other day, Deathslinger has the passive of survivors giving up their distance trying to dodge shots just from pressing ADS randomly. He's the worst designed killer since release Legion.
-
It wouldn't be a problem if they didn't do everything possible to make it feel awful. Huge grind, no retroactivity, one challenge at a time, "in a single trial", "during end game collapse", Do X task Y times that realistically will take 5+ games, do X task and then face Y killers who you will never get X on, 3/5 rift fragments. These tasks aren't even fun and make you go out of your way to do tasks that detracts from your game experience and will cause you to die or perform poorly.
-
I don't know why it's not just a 4k. Survivors don't need to double pip to adept, but we do? Okaaaaaaay.
-
Survivors aren't going to suddenly stop using DS Unbreakable DH just because you stop using ruin/undying. With the amount of work killers are expected to do on top of that, just use it unless you want to play anxiety simulator and slug every game.
-
That's on the devs now. Killers gotta play around any potential perk as long as there is no indicator. If the survivor wants to get picked up, they can move away from the pallet.
-
Keep the base tiers in the Bloodweb and let us level our perks outside of it. I've gone over 100 tiers before getting the perk I want, it's awful and will only get worse the more perks they add.
-
A lot of Clown replies in here and I don't mean the killer.
-
Devs expect you to no life this game to complete the rift. No respect for your time.
-
Imagine nerfing PGTW for having too much free time but not DS.
-
I wouldn't say he's really good but he's definitely not the worst killer in the game.
-
Nerfed to uselessness with the laziest change they could have implemented. Throw it in the pile of useless that the majority of addons/perks/offerings sit in, crap that just gets in the way of getting the things we actually want when we level.
-
They don't care how grindy bloodwebs and rifts are, they just care about player retention.
-
Same. Now he's boring to play as and barely played against. Feels like they went the Nurse route.
-
I said it the day DS was changed and I'll say it again. I'd rather deal with old DS than current DS.
-
I gotta disagree with pretty much everything except your last statement which I really agree with.
Freddy is a low skill, high reward autopilot killer. Everything is pretty much done for him and that makes him extremely boring and unengaging. Brings survivors into the dream world automatically. Antiloop Drop-and-forget snares that have both decent slowing power and duration that he never has to reload. A teleport that can allow him to pressure any generator on the map that he can cancel way too often. Nothing about this man is engaging. I don't want the devs to nerf just the numbers, I want them to nerf him in a way where he becomes engaging to play and requires some thought and effort.
-
I like the Legion outfit. I'm more concerned with how they expect most people to get tier 70. It's way too grindy.
-
Would be cool. A stylish finish to end a won match.
-
It's a fundamental game problem. The problem is there are so many bad survivors nowadays who do everything but gens so how can the devs address gens besides designing better maps?
-
I don't mind basic attack requirements on some perks. I just don't think that most of the perks are good enough despite the requirements.
-
About the same as Nurse. The time spent on console readjusting after a headbutt or trying to turn into something makes you miss hits that PC players would hit. It's a frustrating experience, which is a shame because I enjoy playing him.
-
They're not with Starbreeze anymore. This is their most successful (if only successful) game. Before Starbreeze and after Starbreeze, their patches are buggy. Continued growth as a company but their patches are still buggy. Stop making excuses for them.
The only thing that has improved are their killer design mechanics. QA most certainly hasn't and the fact that they don't wait until their updates meet a certain level of polish is telling of how little they think of the player base.
And they don't have any competition after all this time somehow and you guys constantly enable them to get away with broken patch after broken patch so who can blame them for not improving?
-
If someone tries to kobe in front of me I will let them hit stage 2 if they fail, I don't care. I'm going out of my way to rescue and you're doing it because you know you will get unhooked if you fail, get free points if you succeed.
Luckily most people respect that someone is coming to help them and don't do this.. Did a streamer popularize this or something?
