I do lose more often but I feel that's mainly because people seem to dc/first hook regularly now. Against a Wraith, an Onryo, a Billy, a Huntress, people don't wanna try anymore if they have a bad start no matter the circumstances.
-
Did anyone ever actually use this or are people just mad for the sake of it?
-
Kindred should be basekit for sure. It wouldn't help as much as people think, but it's better than nothing. If you've ever run kindred you've seen the dumb stuff people do even with that information, but there are some decent players who could make use of it.
-
Yeah it's been pretty satisfying. No one expects it because DH is "dead" so it's easy to get value and it's arguably better, just with a bigger margin for error. Everyone knows how good having effectively an extra health state is.
-
Pain res. It's comfy, works on every killer, and the regression isn't insignificant.
-
Yeah, there's been a lot of throwers lately. Not by virtue of being bad but intentionally suiciding on first hook. It's sad cause I've seen multiple games where the group of 3 make it to 1-2 gens, had a good chance if the other person didn't quit.
-
I don't think 90 second gens is inherently a problem but when people dedicate 3+ slowdown/regression perks then it becomes a problem. I don't really see what they could do outside of categorizing perks and limiting certain types. Maybe it's worth it, maybe it's not.
-
No, closer to 4k extra realistically.
As killer, I rarely if ever get 8k brutality. Chaser only with beast of prey, usually it's like 5-7k without. Deviousness is killer dependent, some can get 10k effortlessly, others need distressing. Sacrifice ain't happening unless you get some weird snowball during EGC.
Survivor gets easy 10k gens with prove thyself. Boldness is doable if you're good at running the killer and/or totem build. Survival unlikely. Altruism possible but not reliable.
-
It's pretty decent. You have to be smart with how you use it or you waste it but you get a lot of distance and can prolong a chase for a while if you pull it off. Definitely not the knee jerk "garbage" people are saying.
-
Yeah, it's annoying seeing this narrative that everyone is spinning like the update ruined solo queue. It's always been awful.
It's never been about gen speeds or information, it's the constant bad decisions your teammates make. Hook farming each other and giving free hooks, not being on gens 80% of the match, going down in like 20 seconds, healing in the corner, never willing to risk it on a gen while injured and creating a domino effect of downed hooked unhooked healed repeat until everyone is dead and no more gens were finished. Solo queue isn't dead nor is it gonna die but it's always been awful.
-
True, it is licensed so they will probably try with this chapter. I hope it turns out well, it's just hard to expect more than the bare minimum let alone multiple survivors and maps on top of a smooth release.

These are also the dev's who gave us descend beyond, cursed legacy, stranger things, silent hill, and chains of hate. Your point is?
It's that their most recent history has been well below acceptable quality. You would expect overall improvement over time from developers considering that they gain continued experience on their product. They have released good chapters with minimal bugs in the past so I don't expect them to release a literally unfinished killer that need to be hotfixed further down the line while doing the bare minimum or a chapter so bad that they break fundamental mechanics on multiple things. Good faith from the past is nice but that doesn't change how their most recent releases have turned out. They've been mediocre and this is with the additional work experience with their product.

I liked Binding of Kin!
That chapter was way more creative than the chapter we have now, two killers that of conjoined, i would've never thought of that.
As for the newest chapter, i like the music and art design for the lobby and Trickster. And i won't lie, that anime trailer was crazy in a good way, but i wouldn't call it my fav chapter
The concept was good, I feel they have a lot of good concepts but don't necessarily execute them well but the Twins were all right. But Binding of Kin might be their buggiest chapter ever, even the killer was incomplete along with some of their perks that had to be hotfixed later.

Ok dude. What's BAD about all kill ? Trickster and Jun are amazing looking. The loading screen is amazing looking...? Oh...You mad that trickster isn't as oppressive as spirit ? So that automatically makes it bad..? Got it
The art team always does a good job. I don't think anyone doubts that the Art team is their best department. It's the actual gameplay of things. It's the fact that Trickster was released in such a terrible state while also breaking pallet stuns, breaking Blight giving him even more inconsistent collision, breaking Wraith's lunge out of stealth, and possibly more that I may be forgetting.

I'd rather not be a negative Nancy, thanks.
I think that's a very narrow way to look at things. I'm just being realistic with the patterns the devs have followed in the past few months. Blind optimism will lead to something worse if they fail to meet expectations.
-
I want to be excited but then I remember how awful the last few chapters have been.
-
Such a waste making mori animations when you only ever see them in PTB demonstrations.
-
He feels better to play, slightly improved. He's not F tier but he's probably still D tier.
-
Some good changes on there. Control especially will be nice since the recoil and spread were unnecessary, and the keep up and draw time will be noticed as well.
Doubt main event will be useful as long as it has the long startup and can't be stored. Laceration decaying still seems like a bad idea when other ranged killers damage in one shot and aren't forced to commit or lose all their progress like Trickster.
Still, overall sounds like good changes for Trickster. Hopefully the Wraith lunge is in the patch too, that would be nice.
-
Too many situations where you miss all the gens, especially on giant maps. Even when you do, 8% is barely passable for a perk with a cooldown and a downing requirement.
-
This game isn't a relationship. You shouldn't feel bad if you want to quit, the devs should for consistently putting out such buggy updates every patch and disregarding the community. Don't let sunken cost fallacy affect your decision, you shouldn't be thinking "I'm stuck with this game". Like you said there are a lot of games out there that you can enjoy that respect both your time and overall experience. Enjoy those, keep your eyes on DBD if you want but don't begrudgingly play it, that's on the devs for evoking such a feeling with how they handle the game.
-
If the game doesn't detect a grab, it should trigger a swing. Worst case scenario a survivor finishes an unhook or a vault because you got hover handed, it's frustrating.
-
They really really need to take feedback or hire someone who plays this game regularly at a high level. It feels like no one is competent with balance and Trickster is like an extreme example that is actually a reality.
-
Way too many upstairs/downstairs generators and great walls of china make it hard to get around.
-
Breakable walls is a good idea implemented in a terrible way. All they currently are is a way to introduce incredibly strong loops that forces a break in order to deal with it.
It's like they took all the experience they acquired designing maps over the years and decided to double back on the problems and just put a wall on it. How about just don't put a god loop there in the first place?
-
He definitely isn't the worst killer in the game, there are multiple killers worse. His T1 needs to get abolished though, it's just an unneeded hindrance. Change the scratched mirror addons to still emulate the build, but get T1 outta here.
-
They had more dire issues, like nerfing Trickster.
-
He doesn't need recoil at all, or even different aiming for each hand. Even without recoil and a single aiming point in the center of the screen he would still be worse than both ranged killers.
-
On some killers, but I tend to not use it because exposed hits don't give double BP scores for double health states on almost everything.
-
Even if a better game came out I don't think DBD would drop in popularity. Licensed content, its streaming community, and sunken cost fallacy will keep this game alive despite the quality of the updates and the devs.
-
They did do changes remember? He used to have a good addon and didn't autothrow his useless main event but he was deemed too powerful and had to be nerfed. They only need data if it's against their own opinion.
-
April Fools was yesterday.
Let's not give credit because a buggy patch wasn't as buggy as the last. About the only change that went through as intended is DS and perks. Blight now slides off more things because of how the game detects his collision, Wraith's lunge is bugged, Trickster is the worst designed (gameplay) killer in the game, and pallet stuns are bugging.
-
His power is laughably bad. Why does he require so many knives for a damage state? Why is there recoil? Why so much windup? Why is there separate aiming for each hand? Why is there laceration decay? Why does main event have even more startup? Why does it force throwing in a slowed down state? Why can't you throw knives after it ends? Why is it "use it or lose it"?
You don't need 6 weeks to figure this out.
-
PC Blight has almost no counterplay. If you're at a turn so wide that they can 180 then maybe Blight should actually have a situation where he can't just brainlessly use his power. I can't even hit a 60 degree turn (if not even 50) on console but you think PC should be allowed to hit full 180s, get out of town.
-
I feel like both sides should get a dedicated 5th slot with niche perks. Something that helps but doesn't fall in line with gens, information, healing, or direct chase potential like haste/exhaustion/window sealing.
-
Unanimous feedback from the PTB and fog whisperers that Trickster is bad? Clear indications that can be found outside of statistic sheets? Nah, data only.
-
Considering Hag's mori and the fact Ghostface is just man with a knife, Hag bodies him easy.
-
I didn't play for a month before the new chapter. Bought Trickster with shards, tried him out, bad beyond expectations. Blight got a good change but he's unplayable on console. Wraith got buffed but his lunge is bugged and it's very noticeable. Only the DS change really comes through, Blight if you're on PC. Shame they just didn't take any feedback about Trickster.
Probably gonna sideline the game again, not worth sticking around when I've got other games in my rotation.
-
His knives are a joke. Deathslinger can damage you instantly for being out of posiition and Huntress can do the same from longer distances as liong as you're good at aiming. Trickster requires them to be out of position for multiple seconds on top of having to deal with recoil and separate aim for the left and right blades. Whoever designed Trickster's mechanics really doesn't seem to have any understanding of this game. That's not even mentioning main event which has so many problems it's not even worth using most of the time. Then there's laceration decay, when you think that knives can't get worse but they actually can.
-
Reading that tweet somehow makes me mad. Like we already knew they didn't use any of the feedback from any of the fog whisperers who have thousands of hours of gameplay knowledge and understanding of the game or any other PTB participants, but to say "there was no good data from the PTB" when everyone was pretty much universal that Trickster sucked ass, well that person comes off as arrogant. Let's be real, we all know who he's talking about.
-
Don't do that. It's not like Twin's which was a bug filled messed which you could pass off on Covid maybe. Trickster is just badly designed and it all stems from decisions from the balance team, has nothing to do with Covid. They had feedback, they didn't listen.
-
The play testers are PTB players and no they don't take their feedback.

This killer is so hilariously bad. They might be, actually the weakest killer in DBD.
It's close, the main event is the only reason I don't know if I would say that.......
Go all in on that, main event is trash.
-
To no ones surprise. People were saying this since the PTB but BHVR doesn't need our feedback, let's nerf him instead.
-
I'm not excited for the worst killer we've had in a very long time. So many unnecessary hindrances. He's complete trash without a low wall loop. Unless he releases with further changes, he's DOA. And given the devs track record, don't expect that.
-
You get used to it. If anything I'd say he's the easiest ranged killer to use. All you need to worry about is where the middle of the screen is while chasing.
-
I do think the Blight chapter was pretty great. Introduced a great and fun killer, changed up the killer meta, etc.
Unfortunately he is a scuffed killer on console as his flick game is so weak you can't even adjust your direction properly. Doubly unfortunate is console is the only Blight that feels counterable as PC Blights hit flicks so sharp it feels like there is no counterplay.
-
She has some counterplay, but a lot of the time it comes down to guessing because of the stupid "no mindgame" mindgame. Just give her an obvious visual indicator that she's phasing.
-
Confirmation bias.
-
The perk is so strong that even though it has problems even working (and that's not really an issue when using it for distance) you still see it all the time. On demand distance in a game about getting to the next loop and avoiding getting hit speaks for itself. There is a reason you see this perk every game in red ranks.
