Upvote for Majora's Mask.
Unfortunately, Trickster will bring me less joy than that. He's gonna be a meme. Everything else about the patch seems pretty good but I can't help but be disappointed when I always look forward to the new killer the most.
-
It's sad because most of his issues could be fixed with small changes but nope, gotta nerf his only good addon and not make it basekit so he doesn't feel unique at all.
-
I really don't know what they were thinking with the changes to Trickster after all the feedback they got. It's like they're too stubborn to implement ideas that aren't their own. Guess we're just gonna end up with a killer as bad as old Clown. And not pre rework Clown but "aiming your bottle slows you down" Clown.
-
It has its moments but if you're doing it constantly chances are you are actively hurting your team as you're forcing all the aggro on them and you're probably not doing gens. Kind of like self care, do it in moderation and with good reason.
-
No ones asking for a nerf, they're just saying it's effective. I wish more of my teammates held W then they wouldn't go down 5 seconds after being hit.
-
Bit of a stretch imo, a laceration is just a cut and over half the cast uses blades or claws. I feel like you're seeing things through in game mechanics and not realism.
-
Get your F tier ready for Trickster.

You have no idea what quality teams of Survivors I went up against, so I would remind you of the old saying about assumptions. Either way, I've gone on the record as to my experiences with the Killer. We will see him in general play with EVERYONE soon enough and it will take about a month to truly know where he stands. We can look back on this thread and compare notes at that time.
I can save you a month and tell you he's the worst killer in the game without a doubt now.
-
Addresses absolutely none of the issues holding him back. His changes are worthless.
-
All the changes they could have done to make him feel stronger and unique...and they did things that don't fix anything. Still can't hold onto main event for the right moment. Still no changes to degrading laceration during chases. No mention of Ricochet being basekit. Anything that would make him feel unique to play over Huntress or Deathslinger not found.
-
I want to be able to mori the final survivor without an offering so that the mori animation doesn't sit in limbo, forever unseen to my eyes.
-
Whoever it is seems like a miserable person.

He provides good information and is an excellent killer. I dislike how he scolds some of the people asking questions sometimes. After hearing him do that a few times, it left me with a not as favorable impression of him.
I feel that way too, it's a streamer pet peeve of mine. Their profession is such a privilege, I wish my biggest worry at work was just answering the same questions. They make such a big deal out of it too, threatening to ban people and then the chat feeds off of it and goes full mob mentality.
Don't get me wrong, Otz is a good person but I can't stand it when streamers do that.
-
Fungoose mained Plague for quite a while. Not sure if he still does but he's who I think of for her. He could probably fit the Bubba spot too.
-
115% movement speed would be the worst decision they could make to buff Trickster. Buff his power until it is good enough, we don't need a M1 killer who barely uses his power, end of story. I've already said a few ideas in other threads but more movement speed ain't the answer.
-
Yep, it's a really bad default control setup.
-
@Crowman said:
I would rather keep him 110 and make his power better. Because honestly have a 115 killer with a power you would rarely want to use over your basic attack isn't that exciting.
I agree with this guy. We don't need an even bigger reason to never use his power. I'll be massively disappointed if they just make him faster.
-
I don't know why it's not tbh. It's supposed to be his big play but it almost always goes to waste because you can't hold it for the right situation.
-
The survivor information is still an eyesore. Any sort of information that comes out of that area is just bad. Hook timers, madness counter, stalk meter, it's just way more difficult to see than it was before.
-
This game is only popular because it empowers bullying.
-
It is kind of mindblowing how they managed to make this map worse. It feels like it was designed years ago with how many safe and god pallets there are.
-
Stealth only helps yourself. Running the killer helps the team.
-
As many as they want. Not like the hopelessly addicted playerbase will ever actually stop playing so BHVR will never actually have to improve.
-
Imagine defending iri hatchets.
-
I don't mind the new animations compared to everything else wrong with this patch.
-
They ruined this map. All they did was go all-in on the problems this map already had. I can't wait for the Haddonfield rework where every area has a giant one entrance fence and a gen inside of a house.
-
Why do they insist on having the survivor information going upward? Get it out of the way, it's blocking valuable screen. Also I hope they realize how painfully small hook timers are currently.
-
No. I decided to try out the update, the first game I got frame drops from the firecracker hooks on a PS5. Why does this launch PS3 looking game perform like it's current day Crysis?
-
Minimalistic, concise UI changed to obnoxious, spread everywhere UI. Didn't listen to community feedback. Survivors get hit from a mile away and killers can't go into a bus, gamebreaking. Lets look at the patch before that. Killer releases incomplete and bugged to hell. Fat shaming swamp maps. Gamebreaking. Perks released and don't work.
Get a grip. Only BHVR somehow doesn't get held accountable for such low quality patches. Stop letting them get away with this.
-
I used to play him often but I rarely do now. You're absolutely right about having to commit your attack in one direction, you can't readjust and still land the hit like you can on PC. Shame, cause I really like Blight but seeing the adjustment I need to make and knowing that I can't do it on console is too frustrating.
-
The locker interaction will be fine alongside the other changes.
-
I'll give credit where credit is due, this is the ideal DS change. And OoO should no longer be obnoxious now that the user can't trigger it at will. This is a big deal not only for the enjoyability of killer but for the majority of killers that aren't top tier.
-
Today's a good day. Hearing about DS and OoO changes makes the UI a lot easier to swallow.
-
You're not wrong. About half the killers are worse on console. The obvious Huntress and Deathslinger who need precision at range. Blight, Oni, and possibly Billy who can turn sharper and land hits that a console player can't. Nurse. And then a few others who have a small advantage.
-
Killer detrimental bugs don't get fixed apparently. I got blinded twice out of view yesterday in the same game and I was facing a truck. Do survivors have a full 180 angle to blind from or something? Beyond annoying.
-
Whenever I see someone try to use point 4 as an argument I just can't take them seriously anymore. We don't see eye to eye that's okay. But when you try to make it out to be something else instead of just admitting that the reason you don't like the idea is that you can't find purpose without grind, that's what it really boils down to for you. You're straight clowning trying to turn that perspective into saying I want everything handed out.

i've been conditioned to enjoy myself when i play a game. I enjoy trying to outwit the AI trying to get what I want to have. Also in this community and many others so many people complain about what they don't have and want more just given to them. it's 2021, lets actually play the game, follow the rules, accept the rules and stop being jackasses to those that like to do this. i have played games long before you probably were born. I have played games long before the internet. I had to accept the rules set down by the games designers for a great many years. I do not suffer people like you either because I've seen so many people just want the game given to them instead of actually doing it as is. if you don't like it then find something else you like and go to it. I like the game in general and i find no issue with how it is done to give the items, perks and offerings what so ever.
Nothing I'm complaining about has to do with how the game is played. It's about the randomness of acquiring your builds and the excessive amount of grind. You can choose to pretend that everything is perfect but don't get mad at me because I choose not to. I'm not telling you how to play, so kindly get off my nuts about the jackass talk.
As for the rest, nice flex?

blood point offerings, blood point events, lots of different ways to do this.
well someone wants to be given something for nothing. here's how you get perks you want quickly: start and go towards a perk you want immediately and let the entity take 1/2 the blood web. and keep going that way till you have them, it'll be faster and use less blood points. oh don't prestige, you don't need the outfits. you complain about not having enough time and how much of a grind it is... here let's change it up instead of random perks you'll be given perks that are offered by ascending alphabetical order TILL you get tier 3 on each. no just do it and get it over with, i'm tired of hearing this complaint as it is unfounded and baseless.
You've been conditioned into accepting the mediocrity of the bloodweb. Only in this community can you find people who will accept and defend the MMO levels of hours the devs expect from their players.

Because most of the changes that are suggested are awful changes and would make the perk awful. Don't get me wrong, as killer it's an extremely annoying when you get hit by DS when you didn't tunnel them but just because something is really annoying doesn't mean it needs a nerf.
That's funny because I'm pretty sure multiple killer things have been nerfed out of annoyance and not effectiveness. Best example? Legion.
-
Sure we can. They could have just made hatch spawn when the exit gates are powered if more than 1 person is alive to prevent the situations where killers are forced into a position where they can't sacrifice another player or if they do they have to watch the gens but also the key. It's a simple numbers change. If they weren't satisfied with that change then they could work on a more thought out rework while keys sit in that nerfed position. There is no excuse to just leave things as they are.
-
If you want to get tunneled every game.
-
They could do a lot with the pool of useless perks. Even just apply numbers changes to a lot of them but they just let them sit there, occasionally grabbing one to buff after like a year or two. They could even adjust the BP values on some actions for survivors and killers as some of them don't reward as much as they should but they take the same approach, maybe look at one and adjust things after a year or two. They could squash bugs much more expediently yet we still have bugs from a year ago like Nurse's. There is a lot they could still do outside of the normal routine if they cared.
It's sad because you can tell they are content with doing the bare minimum and yet their game flourishes.
-
I'm simulating what it will be like when the next patch drops and it just exacerbates all the problems the game has. Massive maps, lack of mobility, yet expected to pressure everything. Lost our best regression tools yet expected to still deal with all the second chance perks.
Wouldn't be the first time, I quit when they reworked old ruin because I knew that it would either force me to play in a sweaty, unfun way or force me to play only top tier killers. Looks like I've got the same dilemma.
-
I see the point to an extent. It depends how much effectiveness you want from that one hex if you run undying. If there were a hex besides ruin that gave an immediate strong effect, I think double hex would be better. But the majority of hexes that become decent will still get cleansed once before it can peak so while you can run double hex, chances are only ruin will end up doing anything.
-
Disconnection penalties so survivors are suiciding on hook a lot more. EGC so survivors falling victim to NOED don't have infinite time to fix the situation. There are a couple factors for why kill rates could be up despite killers being weaker than a year ago. There is no way you can convince me that killer wasn't stronger when we had old ruin, enduring that worked on DS (I think that was more than a year ago but there was a time), and PGTW that worked alongside ruin.
-
It's not so much that undying didn't need a nerf. It's that whenever killers get something strong it gets nerfed, we just want that kind of urgency for survivors too.

Decisive strike is pretty much useless these days because killers are scared to pick up survivors. They leave everyone slugged until it runs out. It should be fixed so slugging is done away with. At least rework the perk so it can be used. So away with slugging. What's the point of slugging? To avoid it.
And then you pick yourself up with UB or someone comes and gets you. And you weren't hooked. Sounds like DS did its job.

ok, clearly you don't understand what 4 DS does to a killer. its not just 5 seconds of stun, its roughly 30 seconds on average of time lost. the fact that the timer is 60 seconds makes it so they can be unhooked, healed, another person does down, they go for the rescue, get hit, downed, and still have DS up. 4 DS stuns roughly translates to 2 minutes of lost time. that's enough for several gens to be popped if the survivors are competent. and when combo'd with unbreakable they have a full 60 seconds of invincibility. It is absolutely crippling because it basically gives a survivor a 4th hook state, and there can be 4 of them. I don't understand how you can't comprehend that.
Big true. It's not just a 5 second stun, it's the hook you just lost and the time you have to commit to get a new down, apply up to 4 times. And the security of DS allows them to sit on gens without worry, similar to sprint burst. It's lose lose whether you play around it or not.

PS5
Killer: 5-30 seconds
Survivor: 5-10 minutes

Let's be real guys. The Trapper change didn't even give him an extra trap and Wraith will still get eviscerated by Spine Chill. The Clown change has potential but needs to be tested.
