  • Ridiculous amount of pallets and map size yet somehow "looping on a minefield" huh

I wish trapper actually had that much of traps here

  • @duygu said:

just like the main game it's swf sided good job bhvr just a little ping system would be too much info

Except they literally made auras visible for teammates in both survivors and killers, they are doing absolutely ridiculous amount of information when we compare it to basegame

  • Survivors, only reason it is working for now is the fact survivors aren't playing for win at all

  • As if "playing for the BP farm" doesn't hurt 2v8 too, I mean just imagine the possibility of survivors doing bones with 400% que time

with lower incentives, I can see them doing a little more of objectives, but with 400%…

  • @Krazzik said:

Wraith + Billy sticking together all match is miserable to go against though.

Any killer combination sticking together is miserable to go against, doesn't mean they can win with that

It's just the way it works

  • Pretty sure most survivor mains are playing killers in 2v8 anyway, that's the biggest reason of que time

  • Funniest part is they wouldn't be threatening because two legions can never chain 4 downs

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

People don't want to play against bots though, the problem is there is not enough incentive for survivors to play this mode imo. Certainly not in the numbers that would make queues shorter for killer

It is probably a lot of fun for killers, I don't know as I could not be bothered waiting that long for a match but as a survivor main I find it painfully frustrating. Team mates never seem to do gens and go down instantly, so if killers are on comms (which they often seem to be) it's an absolute stomping and easy games for killers.

Maybe bigger incentives might help more play survivor but for me personally it would probably have to be 1000% bonus BP for me to keep playing this mode

I mean, not like winning makes survivors interesting, they are same old survivors we used to play for years

Probably that's why teammates doesn't do gens from the start, I guess

If you refuse to queue as survivor then you're part of the problem because you're contributing to long queues.

Oh wow, we are so evolved to the point even just playing the game as you want will be considered "killer main" that "sabotaging the game" and also is a "part of the problem", old man like me can't understand the logic or why you can even say something ridiculous as that

they need to get rid of the constant in-game wallhacks. on the contrary hillbilly's chainsaw should be an instadown again. it should be concerning why huntress is more effective than both hillbilly and nurse in this mode. just the fact that there's another killer to force survivors out of cover makes her too strong.

So survivors lose scout and ridiculous sprintburst too

The fact killers are using two killers to down a survivor, should already almost guarantee at least 6 escapes if they ACTUALLY do gens, problem is in survivors, not in killers

You can see that if you actually look at what other survivors are doing

  • The glaring issue, survivors not playing for survive in a mode that is meant to be survived

Sadly there is no cure for that

No because survivors don't have the perks to last longer in chases, second chance perks or gen rushing ones

Survivors don't need perks to rush gens, do good chases, rescue and heal up especially when killers have no perks, killers do generally need perks because most of killers always lack something

map is too big to make the class viable

Literally all you needed to say. If you think this class should constantly run across the map and only heal each other, then don't blame class in your own bad game understanding.

escapist save a lot more time

This is my favourite, because 80% of time people use like this: wait for killer will start breathing in their faces and then start running. And then eat hatchet, Nurse's blink or Billy/Wraith catch them up in 5 seconds. And ONLY in cases where only one killer hunts you, because against two killers this class literally, and I mean LITERALLY, pointless.
Guide is only useful in terms of saving time if we assume that survivors group up on gens (already less effective tactic, but let's ignore it) and constantly hit great skill checks. Should I continue here? With 50% of people here barely understanding on what button they should do gens? And I can agree that in swf of full experienced people this class can be best, but in real matches, where at least half of team is not your buddys… nah, probably worst.
Scout's the only way to win time is giving wallhack on killer to teammates in chase, and he should be off gen, so I won't even start elaborate on this absolutely L take.
While Medic is guaranteed value no matter what. Yeah, definately worst class, of course. No surprises at all why most people have this opinion.

The amount of time it saves without running around is nigh nonexistent, and the running around is actually detrimental to the team, there is no special complex "understanding" in simple game like this

if you are considering teammates being clueless or useless there is no such things as "strong class" because everything is just meaningless

lmaooo not the green keys and maps winning survivor games 🤣. People forgets how the removal of perks was a free tunnel / camp without being able to counter it. 😂

And which is still far less problem than killers having no perks

Killers doesn't work without perks, survivors can mostly perform just fine without perks, game is fundamentally flawed when we don't have perks

What people don't seem to understand is what they also don't understand in the standard mode, that simply wasting the killer's time is the worthwhile part of the chase, not forcing the killer to give up chase. It doesn't matter if it's "unfair" that 2 killers are on you. Of course it's unfair. But wasting both their time at the same time gives you team a hideous amount of momentum. It could lead to everyone being healed up, or to 3 gens being done.

Yeah, if killers "team up" every chase it's pretty much guaranteed escape for every survivors

  • Too convoluted for seemingly no gain

  • Killswitch the viable killer in already extremely survivor favored game mode, it doesn't makes sense in slightest

  • @fussy said:

People who claim it is weakest class are simply run to yellow slaves and unable to see any value in game other than their own comfort. Literally same people who claim that CoH is bad, because they can't heal themselves. Medic is easily strongest role because of how much time it saves and I always pick it. And I really hope it won't have any significantly buffs, maybe only buff 35%>50%. More than this will be heavily unbalanced, resets already are instant, when you have at least 3 medic in your team.

I mean, escapists can help people not get injured, rescue much faster, and ultimately save a lot more time even without your own survival aspect, same goes for guides, scout still relies on awareness of your teammates though

Strongest power in this game mode is the capability to stop others from injuring/downing, aura reading, speed boost, faster gen speed all does that, healing on the other hands have no such things

If you actually care about teams, you should play other classes, number is too small and map is too big to make the class viable

  • Everyone has the rights to complain when a mode supposed to be fun mode isn't fun for them, I don't see any problem at all

  • Not necessarily 8 bots, I'd happily go in a match with 7 survivors as a survivor

Pretty sure they will do order of magnitude better than most players

  • @Krazzik said:

If it's survivor-sided, why are there hardly any survivors queueing?

Because game balance have literally no effect when it comes to unique experience, I don't get why you even thought it matters for que time in pretty distinct limited event like this

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

Well I feel it is the complete opposite - very killer sided unless the killers are completely brainless noobs. So much to that I decided to stop playing it as it feels quite unfun to be so unbalanced.

I know it is meant to be a casual fun mode to not take seriously but I feel like the nuances of gameplay are lost to chaos in this mode and if the killers are coordinated on comms it's so killer sided it is a joke.

Oh and before anyone says it, yes I believe SWF on comms is unfairly survivor sided in normal games too.

If both side has brain, survivors will win 100% of times, just that they don't really go play for win most of the time

  • It is, but it's kinda fine for two weeks because there is many survivors who knows nothing

Probably better fix it up in next time, I suppose

I can see what you mean but she's already awarded haste and undetectable during the chase and in the drone, I think hindred is not needed.

True but both is pretty meh by itself, as all that things have really small number

She has three effects, which is about as strong as 1/3 or even less of other chase powers, doesn't need to be split like that for sure but JUST removing it will simply make an already below mediocre killer even worse

  • Probably because without hindered she will be pretty much powerless killer

First of all you are wrong sry. There is no such thing like immunity to camping or tunneling. I LITTERALLY WAS TUNNELED EVERY SINGLE ROUND! I have litterally seen it that I was tunneled like hell. So your immunity to tunneling is debunked. Next is the camping. Sure that does not happen when we just look at the cages which switch places if killers stay too long and that they have no need to slug and camp a downed survivor because they simply stomp them away. That is a illusion of immunity here, because how can you be immune to something the killers simply do not need anymore, cause it is ridicoulously easy to hook survivors now? I do not even need to debunk that because that even is no problem anymore since killers do not have to use it anymore but they would if it would work WE BOTH KNOW THAT!

And yea that with the gens could be changed to 10 that is something even I do not like, yet survivors are not really in a massive advantage.

So you already have a mode which is so hliariously easy for killers and still want new buffs? While survivors in this mode almost can do nothing to save others? Sry but I do not agree but respect your opinion. I just do not agree to it.

It is a extrem easy mode for killers from what I saw. But I think this debate will never calm if I try it more so I keep it here.

You are misunderstanding concept of tunneling or literally throwing yourself to the killer, tunneling in this gamemode is basically impossible

Even if they don't need to, immunity is still an immunity

Killers lost slowdowns and great addons, survivors got ridiculous perks and a little buff which is basically QoL features, this mode is objectively survivor sided unless you massively overestimate the power of two

How easy it is to win as either side is honestly irrelevant, especially in a game where you'll match with a team full of 20 hours new players

  • Not contributing to objective, doesn't help surviving like scout or escapist, not exactly "bad" but still extremely meh compared to others

I mean, who pick the 35% healing speed instead of sprintburst with 20 second cooldown

  • Survivors are in massive advantage, less generators to do, immunity to camping/tunneling, basekit selfcare and unbreakable, all the crazy class perks, ridiculous amounts of pallets, all while killers are losing strongest stuff they had in 1v4

If anything, killers (notably trapper and billy) needs a MASSIVE buff, only reason it is working in current game is simply just survivors having new players in their team, basically all the time

  • @HexHuntressThighs said:

It’s mainly survivors goofing around being the reason they lost. I win 7 matches in a row all 6-8 man outs, lost one game where only two of us got out thru hatch and then won 3 or 4 more in a row 5-8 man outs. All of the killers were in the thousands of hours range. Except a few I couldn’t check. It’s really much easier to win in 2V8 vs 1v4 imo.

I mean, killer lacks strongest thing (slowdown) they had in 1v4, meanwhile survivors are getting ridiculous things like wallhack, team wide SB, "free" unbreakable and selfcare, basically immune to tunneling, there is no way it's harder for survivors than 1v4 except the fact we are in free weekend

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

I’m saying that if Trapper is going to be in 2v8, he needs a rework, or a lot of buffs that allow him to be way more mobile.

When Trappers basically sit in one area the entire game, it’s frustrating for the other killer. Many killers that sign up for 2v8, want to have an interactive experience with the other killer. They don’t want to roam the map by themselves, while Trapper camps the same area the entire game.

I’ve seen multiple killers DC after their Trapper teammate decided to camp one area for the entire game, and think killers need to be VERY frustrated if they are going to DC, considering they probably had to wait 20 minutes in queue.

You can still try to zone survivors into trap network, not like it works or meaningful

  • Because he literally doesn't work without limiting the area, hell, trapper has been like that in base game too

Let's assume your premise is correct. How many 8 SWFs are you aware of playing taking this super seriously and clock callouting? That basically means no Survivors are even remotely taking the game mode seriously, so it would make it Killer sided by default.

You don't need anything close to 8 swfs, just enough to have extremely basic game sense

"killer sided" basically implies the game balance is in favor of killers, which is objectively incorrect, you may call matchmaking killer sided, but calling the mode killer sided doesn't makes sense

  • They really needs to implement random killer system or something, to be honest

  • @Xernoton said:

I have noticed that too. I played a few games of survivor in that mode and it's weird how many times all will be healthy but nobody is on gens. For chase times, it seems that either they are literal gods at the game and can loop 10 Nurses at once around a Z-wall or they just stand still. And that's without the second killer around to hit them again.

Also, is Billy's chainsaw magnetic or are people just this bad at dodging him? I have faced my share of Billys and I never had any issues but somehow my team mates manage to get hit by them frequently.

Overall the survivor side feels like the solo queue experience is dialed up to 11. Maybe survivors should have base kit Bond (keep the range restrictions though, because otherwise it might get confusing with 7 yellow blobs on your screen) in this mode so that they can coordinate a little better.

People would get confused by seeing so many auras of survivors

    Not joking

  • It only works like that simply because the mode is new, the more time passes, the more people know, and the more sweaty it will be

2v8 will still be sweaty and kill focused if we starts to play for win

  • @Sarrif said:

… You do realize there's a massive survivor shortage because of how easy killers have it in 2v8 right? Like to the point where not even a 400% bp bonus is making surivors want to play it? If anything they should keep the 8 gens needed to repair but add more generators to prevent camping one corner of the map.

Pretty sure it's definitely not because "how easy killers have it in 2v8", it's pretty obvious the reason is many thing, main reason being killers finally being playable with friends

game is extremely survivor sided as long as both sides plays seriously, luckily majority of survivors won't play serious in slightest

  • @Ayodam said:

they don’t struggle with bots because this game’s AI is pretty basic.

And I'm stating even the basic AI will be vastly stronger than current generic survivors in 2v8 modes, I don't see anything contradicting here

  • @sinkra said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3768626#Comment_3768626

My point is that if 2v8 becomes permanent the days of catering to killers are over. BHVR will want to make survivor as appealing as possible to alleviate the long killer queue, and that means lowering the kill rate back to 50%.

lowering kill rates does not reduce the will of people who want to play unique experience that is only active for two weeks

objectively speaking survivors got far more stronger aspects than killers compared to 1v4, only real "advantage" killers got here is literally JUST second teammates, all the powers are barely substituting perks and addons

Meanwhile survivors getting innate tunneling immunity, sprintburst with radius and extremely short cooldown, actually LESS generators to do for each survivors, countless amount of pallets, selfcare and unbreakable on death hook, basically a wallhack that can persist for like 80% of the game, the amount of ridiculous stuff survivors got is insane

  • @Sadako_Best_Girl said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/422044/i-honestly-cant-enjoy-2v8

I really don't get people saying killer is hard in this mode. From my experience most of my matches, especially the ones I have played with my buddy, are complete curbstomps. Survivors don't do gens and go down extremely fast for the most part.

Fundamental balance being in favor of survivors and steamrolling majority of survivors are entirely unrelated things, in every PvP games you'll stomp everything that is vastly lower than your skill levels, even as an absolutely weakest role

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

Yeah so at this point I am completely done with this game mode, it is just too killer sided if the killers have barely functional brains.

It was okay for a few games but for me there is not much fun when the balance is so in favour of killers. I cant wait until it ends so everyone is back in the regular queues

So, you are basically saying "if survivors with zero braincell can't win, it's in favour of killers"

    That doesn't seems very accurate

  • It makes sense to down within 10 seconds if two killers are chasing a survivor, but usually there will be another down 2 seconds later

    Something is off

  • @Nazzzak said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3768588#Comment_3768588

It's a gen and a little more if every totem is cleansed (which it never is unless the killer has Plaything + Pentimento, which I guess needs to be nerfed since it's a guaranteed win combo causing survivors to throw?) and every chest is opened. We also literally just had a survivor chapter where 2/3 new perks involve doing these non-legitimate objectives. I'd have no issue with BHVR removing those conditions, I guess they really are killer perks in disguise?

Pretty sure most totem perks/chests perks are actually killer perks in disguise, there is niche situation where those can shine but for majority of the game it's net negative for time efficiency

It's all obviously assuming there is no hex perks or chests perks in play, too, because those things aren't needed to perform "side objective", which is also happening quite decently in 2v8 modes

  • @Nazzzak said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3768538#Comment_3768538

It takes, what, 10s to open a chest and 14s to cleanse a totem. And there's only 5 of each. Yet it's now considered essentially game throwing to do those things.

So that's like a gen and a little more worth of time with movement all for basically no gain? yeah that's throwing without doubt, it's always been throwing, just that survivor was vastly stronger side

  • @ElodieSimp said:

Let's be honest, repairing a generator is not the most exciting thing ever, it's borderline tedious. This is why the killer role is more fun, it's active and rewarding. Looping killers is, to me, the only real fun on survivor side.

Too many people are looking at it as "just do gens, that's the real problem!". No, it's because doing gens is boring and no one really wants to do it.

"well go play another game", people do eventually and never come back.

go play 1v4 then, 2v8 is the prime example of "do gens: the game"

At least you can chase in 1v4

  • Nope, the reason why they aimed for slightly higher kill rate is simply because survivors have 4x higher chance of throwing than killers, basically 50/50 means extremely survivor sided game

pretty sure it would wore off fast enough as time passes anyway

  • @mecca said:

800% doesn't help if it's grossly unbalanced or unfun. There's no skill expression to play as survivor. I have said for a long time that it is what is suffocating DBD. 2v8 amplifies the problem: survivor is too weak and unfun.

"too weak" is blatantly false statement for sure, survivors are certainly far stronger than 1v4 with all things combined

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

There’s no gen regression perks, no gen blocking perks and you only have to 8 instead of should’ve been 10 gens. There’s also like a 1000 pallets not including your windows and other resources.

Not sure how this favors killers. Just my opinion though.

regardless I am LOVING 2v8!! It’s the most fun I have had in a while!

Not to mention literally a voice comm on a perk of scouts and sprintburst with friends that has 20 seconds cooldown of escapists

Survivors really have so many crazy tools, killers are barely catching up with teamwork

  • @Nazzzak said:

I think a better question would be why should opening chests and cleansing totems - legitimate side objectives - risk throwing the game? When I started playing you could do those things without issue or affecting your chances of escape. Now there's a degree of guilt that you'll cost your team the game if you do them. It shouldn't be 'glue yourself to a gen or it's over' and yet that's how the game currently feels.

But yes, my 2v8 games have been the same. Maybe 2-3 people on a gen and the rest idk.

Probably because if survivors can win while wasting time for those useless objectives, killers literally has zero chances against anyone who is playing serious

Those things really aren't legitimate side objectives to begin with

  • Nurse is fine, especially with permanent wallhack or sprintburst with 20 seconds CD

She already suffers the abysmal map mobility anyway

  • @Kable13 said:

Maybe…. but at the same time… it gives the notice so the killers know where to look… i know having my traps snapped has helped many times.

There is eight survivors and it's unlikely killers have problem in finding who to chase
