I mean, their response to the solo survivor experience was pretty much 'too bad, so sad', so I feel like the fact that they're actively working on killers and taking on feedback is a positive thing.

I'm an older player who paid full price and I've had years of entertainment and game progress. Wdym nothing to show?

Ah okay, so I was wrong, it wasn't an average 15%, it was up to 15%. I stand corrected!
It's all good. If you look at the post Peanits was replying to, it was someone else thinking it was an average escape of 15% - that info gets passed around alot, so it's not just you.
-
Playing normally, I can get to iri 4 no probs. Iri 4 to 1 though I have to really try. I refer to the wiki (scroll down to the points section) and it outlines how you earn and lose points. Makes it easier.

Thank you.
So the difference between solo and swf is dependent on the skill of the group and the number of players in the group?
Good to know.
Basically. I'm not the person you were discussing the topic with btw, I just interjected because I had the info you requested.

Hi!
For Batteries Included, we feel that we may have jumped the gun nerfing it from the PTB version. We'll be closely monitoring the situation on Live - and of course, we always want to hear feedback!
Scavenger was nerfed from PTB before release, and that stuck despite negative feedback from survivors. Can you guys keep this same "we'll closely monitor the situation on Live" energy going forward for survivor perks too instead of caving into knee jerk reactions? Thanks

Can you link your source for that?
The only stats on swf survival rate that I have seen were released in 2019, so kinda old.
But back then the difference was only about 8% between a full 4man and solo, and even lower for Trios and Duos.
The link to the stats goes to the homepage now, but here's a dev talking about it from last year. It's actually "up to 15%", not average of 15% as the person you quoted is claiming. Peanits says most swf escape rates are on par with solo so doesn't seem to have changed much since those 2019 stats. @C3Tooth did the math for me during a similar conversation and I believe if the average survivor escape rate is 39% (per the devs post 6.1 update stats) then the average solo escape rate would be around 32%.

It is as much tactic as showing your opponent middle finger during the chess match.
Tbagging is a BM, and the reason why people do it is the same as other BM - they want to make you feel bad. In particular, people do it at the exit gate because they feel like just winning is not enough and you deserve extra humiliation for playing killer they don't like/playing in the way they don't like/playing not well enough.
And yes, by saying that killers deserve to be teabagged for tunneling you are showing you are no better than other tbaggers, so you might just ask yourself.
I never said killers deserve to be teabagged for tunnelling. Not sure where you read that in my reply. They do it to taunt the killer so the killer keeps chasing them. Never said it wasn't bad manners. I consider slugging to be bad manners too but that doesn't mean it's not a tactic.
-
Complaints?? By this community??
-
Higher skilled players will sometimes tbag during the game to keep the killer on them instead of their weaker team mates. So it can be a tactic. The ones who do it in the exit gate... who knows. It's a game, it's not that deep, so I'm not sure why they feel entitled to waste peoples time.

hex:undying is too weak to provide a secondary objective. I would like to use hex:lullaby and undying.. but you only get 2 totems. you need to work hard to get 5 tokens only for survivors to easily 2 totems and disable the perk.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3607855#Comment_3607855
hex:plaything requires hooks on 4 separate survivors and it does not promote tunneling. The other problem is that smart survivors will often not cleanse hex:plaything granting you no game-delay. It might be worth it to run hex:plaything if they buff Grim Embrace to be good perk in 2 months.
Yeah that's why I mentioned from the perspective of a solo survivor. Most of my team mates won't touch a gen until they cleanse their hex totem. Some will play on without worrying about it, but in general games where the killer has Plaything + Pentimento are pretty slow games.
-
I'm surprised Plaything + Pentimento isn't more popular tbh. It's such good slowdown, at least from my perspective as a solo survivor. But yeah, it'd be nice seeing more because I'm running a totem build atm 🤣 Overzealous + Inner Strength + Counterforce with a map and red twine add on. It's actually alot of fun.

Part 2:
Successfully tunneling someone forces other survivors to stop doing gens... They know that the less of them there are to distract a killer the odds of them all escaping declines. Through tunneling survivors aren’t doing gens, and it is not because the survivors decided! The Killer decides that moment they focus on a single player.
The devs cannot fix tunneling because there is nothing wrong with it. When the survivor learns to runs well enough against a killer tunneling will not work at all. The killer wastes all their time!
As killer you have to learn when/who to tunnel.
As survivor you must learn how to deal with tunneling when it happens to you, or someone else!
I played 14 Knight matches last night. 4 matches I didn’t tunnel. I won 2, and lost 2. When I lost survivors bragged a little.
So I decided to gauge, and deduce who was best at running me at the start of a trial. Chase (Tunnel) their weakest runners out the match. Saving their best runners for last.
Guess what? I won 10 matches in a row! Even with all the survivors coordinating, and abusing their perks. 1 match of which the SWF all quit. As I got them all injured and downed in the process of focusing on their weakest runner!
Except what usually happens is that a killer will tunnel their way into a higher MMR bracket and suddenly tunnelling doesn't work. They then come here and demand nerfs to survivors/perks so they can better compete at a level they shouldn't even be at. At some point, presumably, that killer should learn to play the game and accept that the better player *should* win. In a perfect world that would be the case. I don't care if I get tunnelled. So be it. But some people's inability to accept an occasional loss seems to increasingly become everyone else's problem since update 6.1.
-
I doubt they ban for bug exploiting. Like isn't hug tech a bug exploit? They'd be banning so many Blight mains
-
I play on PS5 and have very rarely had issues
-
I've had an increase probably over the past week. I wonder if all the SMs who increased in MMR too quickly thanks to 3 genning are all starting to come down. Especially with the soft cap changes.
-
Just a filler perk imo. They needed something so just threw it in knowing no one will use it.
-

Honestly, the only people that are surprised by this are new/inexperienced players. & the ones who said MfT would still be strong after the gut nerf, were either incredibly disingenuous or just as bad as the new/inexperienced.
Hopefully it doesn't stay buried like so many other perks (both surv & killer).
The folks that were assuring everyone that it's "even stronger now!" were the same ones complaining for months that it needed a nerf. They knew it was gonna be rubbish and were gleefully talking out their ass.
-
No, you won't get banned.
-
According to this forum, everyone is running Windows of Opp, Distortion, Calm Spirit, Adrenaline, BU+FTP, not to mention the apparent gen rush perks. Not sure if there's room for Boil Over.
-
I remember killers insisting that being injured/one hit down during the MFT era "wasn't a risk," yet the popularity of a perk that literally makes a survivor a one hit down proves that was a lie.
-
Speaking as a solo survivor, I'm not really sure what they could do at this point. From a business perspective, they're better off appealing to swfs and killer mains because those are more likely to be the long term paying customers. Solo survivors might leave but there's always new ones popping in to replace them. So aside from some minor quality of life changes, I doubt solo will receive any basekit advantage. We are kill rate fodder. Helping our chances of survival means depriving killers of their kills, and as I said above I can't see them doing anything to alienate killers. I'm always happy to share my feedback on the poor state of solo queue, but I honestly don't know what the solution to it is. Better matchmaking maybe?
As for tunnelling, I can't see them directly addressing it because the tunnelled survivors are still engaging in active gameplay. Unlike with camping, where they're just hanging there doing nothing. I think one thing they might do is simply lessen the blow by removing depipping and maybe adjusting some anti-tunnel perks (like the upcoming DS change).

An amusing game that stands out for me was one I had back in the early Mikaela days, the time where every killer was scared or wary of her because of her boons.
I was playing her - with NO boons - and on a gen, watching Nemesis chase someone in the distance. A Zarina set up Circle of Healing and as soon as the boon sound rang, I saw Nemesis drop chase and run off. I just knew he was coming for me so I started following him and watched him just running past and ignoring all the other survivors. Eventually he spotted me and he chased me all over the map, he would not let up. Once he hooked me he stood guard in front of me (which he hadn't done to a previous survivor) just shaking his head. I think the other survivors knew what had happened because after they popped the last gen, the Zarina made a point of blessing a totem again. As soon as Nemy heard the sound, he turned and walked off, looking down all ashamed. He let them unhook me and the Zarina did a crouch dance around him. I could practically hear the "it was meeee" coming from her lol cracked me up tbh
-
Wraith, Blight, Wesker, Huntress (especially Baba Yaga), and Spirit are the ones I associate with tunnelling. Agree also with BlightedDolphin that Legion-Susie has a tendency as well. On the flipside, I don't think I've had a negative experience with a Legion in the Hunk skin. So I feel like skin choice matters lol
-
Just came to report this. Also had a team mate on hook with Kindred and couldn't see the killers aura at all around him. I only noticed Kindred in post-game screen. I think auras in general are bugged.

No. The point is that we have a major double standard, where killers are expected to make poor game decisions, that actively lower their chances of winning…… but expect absolute zero from survivors in return.
And yes, there is a reason to tunnel at 5 generators, and that’s the fact that it’s effective. Killers aren’t doing it to spite survivors, they’re doing it to help win a PvP game. And if killers are expected to make poor game decisions, then survivors should also be expected to make poor game decisions.
I'm sure the people who play with a stealth build aren't doing it to spite anyone. They're doing it because they've found it effective and it helps them win.
-
If it drags on too long I just give them the kill so I can move on. If they want it that bad they can have it, my time is more valuable to me. Probably your best option.

This. So many distortion posts now. People think with enough threads, BHVR will come to the rescue. Distortion is fine and not even the strongest anti-aura perk. OP really likes creating these doomsday perk posts, geez.
"People think with enough threads, BHVR will come to the rescue"
Considering BHVR has, in fact, been caving to these sorts of complaints, I would imagine its only emboldened folks to complain more.

I'm seeing the term "tunnelling gens" alot over the past week. Has a content creator released a new video?
-
Oh that sucks. Wonder if they'll killswitch it as fast as they did flashlight perks lol
-
Having it activate/charge only in chase makes it redundant. If you're bringing an aura reading build, then making a survivor get into a chase before they can benefit from their aura blocking perk means the killer gets their cake and gets to eat it too. No need to find survivors the old fashioned way when they have to just come to you. It would kill the perk.
-
@Rudjohns said:
I swear, if Distortion gets nerfed because of all this childish whining I will stop playing this game
And I rarely use Distortion
Same. I think I've used it once in the last 6 months but I'm really over decent survivor perks getting nerfed one by one. It's actually putting me off the game. I don't think it's a coincidence that more and more killers are complaining at a time when they're all running Friends Til The End. And they're the first to accuse survivors of running "crutch" perks. Find survivors the old fashioned way.
-
I hear so often that killer is supposed to be the power role and people should be scared. If people are still scared and want to hide then mission accomplished.
Survivors, particularly solo, have been saying for a long time that useless team mates sucks. But this was also an issue back when barely anyone used Distortion. Killers have been given perks like UW and FttE, and it's simply cause and effect - survivors have adapted, including the useless ones. I don't use Distortion unless I'm doing an escape daily/tome challenge, but I don't care if team mates use it. Take it away and the useless ones will still be useless.
-
I've never used OoO, does this mean when the Obsession changes (with FttE) you and the killer stop seeing each other every 30s? Is the perk still useful at that point or only if the killer has other aura perks?
-
There's a barren section of map that I feel could use something.

What do you mean by "recent adjustment"? What happened exactly? In what patch update was this detailed?
Soft cap was raised in October. Mandy confirmed it in another thread towards the end of November. It took a few weeks to become noticeable and people to ask questions. Those in high MMR, like content creators, naturally haven't been happy as their games are now harder. People suspect it's now been reverted but no confirmation on that front.
-
I hope so, that'd be nice
-
I haven't noticed any difference in gameplay between team mates who have it and who don't. The only way I know they even have it is on the postgame screen. I couldn't pick it in the game.
-
Skull Merchant, Trickster, Clown. Since others are naming more than 3 I'll chuck Pinhead in there too.
-
It's Canadian time. It's the 8th here in Australia and I believe the reward for the 8th will hit at 11pm or midnight.
-
I have noticed an increase in the amount of team mates using Distortion, Iron Will, and Lightweight, but I can't say that it's made them play any worse than usual. I had a game yesterday where all 3 of my team mates died and I saw in postgame they all had Distortion. So I was the only one the killer could see all game (he left me alone after 2 hooking me, pretty sure that's why). I just had a game now where the killer 2 hooked everyone before going for kills and the only person to die before we popped the last gen had Distortion and Iron Will. The aforementioned killers were a Wesker and a Wraith. I do believe most killers are capable of working around these perks. At least in my experience. The team mates who are useless tend to bring perks like Left Behind or Self Care more than anything.
-
I don't think so, as she already has a wind up slowdown. So missing is already punishing.
-
Best counter for Friends Til The End is to stay injured and just smash gens. If you're not the Obsession, then chances are the killer isn't going for you. If you are the Obsession, then being injured you're already a one hit down so being Exposed means little. Definitely harder for solo players as people need to pay attention to the changing Obsession, but everything will be harder for us than for swfs unfortunately.
-
Pretty hyped for this, and definitely a potential future killer imo.
-
Is this BHVR giving into content creators and reverting MMR changes? I was actually getting decent games for a time.
-

And it usually results in me being tunneled because they remember me
Lol I had an Oni today who DCd and his penalty had clearly run out by the time I loaded into my next lobby because I had him again and he was nasty during that game. I find if I get steamrolled by a killer and then get that same player the next game, they'll let me go. If they lost to me first game though then they're merciless the next round.
-
IIRC it was popular for a time with Wesker but then the gen kick meta rolled in and I havent really seen it since
-
I guess maybe the death/escape count, hook count, and how many gens completed? If it's a 4k at 5 gens or a 4e with little to no hooks then I wouldn't consider those to be balanced games. There's obviously other smaller factors at play but it'd be difficult or even impossible to accurately track them all, so..
-
I see it occasionally
