I give every Tombstone Myers a kill. I also offer myself for sacrifice to killers who I enjoyed playing with if they didnt do too hot, though most of the time they'll refuse it. I've also never tbagged or BM'd a killer in my life (get hit plenty on hook though unfortunately).
-
I've never used gen progression perks or BNP in the 2+ years I've been playing, but if my already low escape rate drops further then I probably will start using them more. Nothing to do with protest, simply trying to maintain my escape rate. Others might be thinking along the same lines?

I saw a ton of We’ll make it while I was on killer.
Yeah I'm not surprised. I feel like it's the best perk to stop a potential snowball from happening with the nerfs, so I'll do my part and bring it lol
-
I haven't been playing much lately but I think when I get back into it I'll try We'll Make It, Bond, Resilience, and Lithe or SB.
-
Never used it in my life. Used to use Lithe, then Overcome since Jonah's release. No point using Overcome now though.

Suicide to boost Killrates to provoke devs to revert changes. Same childish crap like after 6.1.0. Its propaganda.
Not this conspiracy again... in this age of the internet, you'd be able to find proof of some mass scale coordinated survivor effort to boost kill rates. And yet I've never seen it.

I hear people on Twitter and on these forms say they almost never win playing solo q. So why even put yourself through the torture when u can swf??
Time constraints. I can't speak for everyone but I'm a mum with young kids. Most swfs (understandably) need time commitments. Between the kids, sports commitments, and just real life responsibilities, it's really only feasible for some people to play solo.

We all know MMR doesn’t mean anything in terms of fair matchmaking
It's not perfect but there are absolutely ways to make it worse (such as lobby dodging, or using strategies like tunnelling and camping to carry you through many wins). For the most part I've always found my matchmaking to be fine, with the odd outlier (usually if I'm shoved in as backfill)
-
I don't, and ultimately you do you. But be aware that easy tactics to gain kills can be detrimental. The game is designed to give you more challenging opponents as you progress. More kills means MMR increases, and you may find that you're suddenly getting games where the first person you try to tunnel will loop you for multiple gens and suddenly that strategy may not seem so strong afterall. It may pay off now, but just something to be aware of!
-
It took me awhile to get the hang of Demo but I found Wraith pretty straightforward to learn

Oh boy.
FNAF shouldn't ever come to DBD. If it does, it will be the final straw for a good portion of the community and their faith in BHVR as an entity.
Agree but i suspect it's inevitable, especially since Blumhouse are doing both the fnaf and DBD movies. It'll be an easy license for them to obtain.
-
I suppose the killers who two hook everyone one at a time before starting the sacrificing would qualify? I wouldn't say they were "too nice" but moreso just confident in their abilities. Especially as they run the risk of everyone getting away, which has happened at times.

the biggest problem with the SM is shes 100% a 3 gen killer and thats it. her drones are useless unless used for gen defense otherwise survivors have no reason to touch them outside that the drones dont do anything. ive played a good bit and the best play is just to throw some drones up a gens and just watch survivor ignore them gens and 3 gen themselves. honestly imo she needs a full rework.
I'd disagree that she's 100% a 3 gen killer, but that is absolutely the play she is mostly used for because it's easy yet effective. I played against one the other day who got a 3k (I got hatch) and didn't even use the 3 gen strat. It kinda threw me tbh.

The issue with the "Casual" part of DBD is how vastly different Killer and Survivor are compared to the rest of the game.
- Killer has a lower skill floor, and most people can pick up Killer and play without any issues, the only noticeable "issue" is the lack of good perks from the starting set of Killers.
- Survivor has a higher skill floor than Killer, and while a lot of people do play Survivor overall, it's important to note how difficult it is for new players to really catch onto how things work.
Combine Killer being easier to pick up when starting the game and Survivor being a bit trickier for new players, and you have this weird area for in the game where Killer dominates Survivor by a landslide.
It's interesting because my experience has been the opposite. I settled into survivor quite easily (back then I spent a good hour in the tutorial and then used Feng with Technician until I got the hang of the generators. Learning tiles was the probably the trickiest but i hold my own).
But killer takes me longer to get the hang of. Some killers I play better than others and stick to (Demo and Wraith atm, with the former taking me a bit longer to learn while the latter was quite alot easier), others I've tried once or twice and given up on. Others I won't even bother trying.

Pinhead because I usually play solo queue and he’s stupidly OP if you can’t communicate with your teammates to know who is going to the box.
Overall worst (for solo and SWF) would be Legion. Such a terrible killer design that encourages incredibly long and boring mend simulator matches.
I play solo too, and honestly 9 times out of 10 if I don't grab the box then no one will. The only thing that makes Pinhead games bad are a bad batch of team mates.

And Killers are only running it now knowing that it is broken. If something like this wasn't killswitched on survivor side by now, this forum would implode.
The ones purposely taking advantage of it are just shooting themselves in the foot. The wins will increase their MMR and they'll be here once it's fixed, wondering why they're getting matched with challenging survivor teams. It will only carry them for so long.
-
I've played against some amazing Blights on that map, but also some Blights that struggled. It's all just experience level I think.
-
I'm a casual on both sides, always have been. I have enough stressors in real life, when I play my games I'm going in to chill out. I'm not competitive and nothing much phases me.
-
Yeah it's frustrating but I've come to accept that most people will probably always play her that way, and ultimately she's 1 killer out of 30. Every SM game I'm in someone will DC or let go on hook at some point, which makes me comfortable to let go and move on as well. Having that option makes those 3 gen games alot more tolerable. Sucks for the killer having people duck out of their game but they can't force people to stay in 30+ minute games when every other killer game averages like 15 minutes and you walk away with the same bp.
As others have said on this forum many times - at this point only a ground up rework will change things. And that's not gonna happen.
-
Yup. Not for me though, I don't care about my own. I just want to see all the people who claim they're high MMR and getting sweaty comp squads every game get a bit of a reality check.
-
Taking it away will just end those altruistic snowballs which benefit the killer after gens are done. If 99% gates regressed then most survivors would just leave. I remember one of the devs saying they tested regressing the exit gates and gave it up quickly because the impact was too great or some such. Basically they gave up the idea fast, which tells you all you need to know about whether it'll ever happen or not.

Yes guys, why is the new Killer and Survivors getting a new tome just like every other new Killer and Survivors for the past year or so getting a new Tome? How dare the developers not break the current trend of giving these new characters lore and challenges! I am never playing this game ever again! FIX YOUR GAME BHVR! /j
Tbf it's only been Knight before now. Before Knight it was GF and Mikaela, and before that it was Blight and David, and Saw was before that (all 2022). So if people missed the part of the update where every new chapter gets their immediate subsequent Tome then of course they'll be confused.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/371796/camping-tunnelling
This is community's fault. 99% of main suvs want to see all gen defense perks dead (Obviously without killing prove thyself, bpn and toolboxes), so the killers have to adapt by tunneling and camping. It's community's fault, and also devs' fault because they care only about one side (survivors) and don't even play killer in public matches against the top of the top swf.
It's your fault that you keep complaining about things that aren't even unbalanced, causing unnecessary nerfs. Now enjoy the consequences, killer must tunnel and camp to win because they know that gens go too fast. If gens go fast, killer must kill fast no?
I've been playing for over 2 years and camping and tunnelling has always existed. It's not some new thing. Framing it around the gen regression meta, which was only a recent thing following 6.1 - more specifically from Knight's release - is inaccurate. Tunnelling and camping did not suddenly cease when gen regression was at its height.
-
Clown. The bottle effect gives me headaches.
-
I like playing Demo, and more recently Wraith. I enjoy going against Nurse, GF, and Demo. I don't mind Nemesis either.
-
Part of their new overhaul. All new chapters will get a Tome
-
They want people to use a variety of perks, they dont just want meta builds. It's the same reasoning behind the original 6.1 perk overhaul where IW, Spine Chill, Self Care, DS etc got nerfed. It's because players were only using those perks and very little else.
-
I like the Mikaela one, and nice that it's on the free rift
-
Been bugged for awhile. I'm actually not playing at the moment because I'm seeing it so often and it's taking the joy out of games. It's interesting how much you see something increase in use in this game when it's busted.
-
If they're just dropping pallets then great. Break them and create dead zones. You'll be thankful in the latter game when they have no more resources.
Losing gens early is normal. When you're chasing 1 person, the other 3 have nothing else to do but gens. Don't overcommit to first chase if it's going for too long. The tide starts to turn once you get that first hook. Then you'll have 1 hooked, another in chase, another going for the unhook/heal, and only one on gens. And as a survivor ill tell you - the one free to sit on a gen is most of the time not even doing that. So don't panic if you lose gens early or think you *have* to tunnel now. Chances are you don't. I have plenty of games where 2+ gens pop early and killer gets a 4k. My escape rate is like 30% max (even less I anticipate with the self healing and medkit nerfs) and I've been playing for over 2 years. So much of this game is just practice, practice, practice.
-
I will always give a Tombstone kill to Myers when I see he's got it but I won't do it immediately. I still want bp and a pip. So yeah I'll fight it for the first half. The ones who are left last and hiding in a locker, well, I'm not surprised. This is the 'I'm not responsible for anyone else's fun' community. People just like to be petty. They certainly don't owe you a kill but a standoff has to be worse than just dying.
-
I've tucked myself into some pretty stupid corners before. The killer would be silly not to capitalise on that.
-
They might have gotten enough bp and been waiting for you to come back and kill them in return
-
They did it because they're nerfing popular perks to create more variety. If everyone and their mum didn't run the same perks every single game then they wouldn't touch them.

The problem is that community outrage is often effective. People constantly posted complaints about Deathslinger and he was nerfed into irrelevancy, as was spirit and other killers. Survivor mains review bombed Steam when the healing nerfs were announced and, magically, the devs took back some of the nerfs. BHVR has set the precedent of giving into to uneducated and biased opinions, so people will continue to make divisive and one-sided posts.
Too many people saying the healing nerfs were reverted because of survivor complaints, and yet BHVR said in their update why they did it - because they didn't consider the effect that certain killer perks and add-ons would have on it. There was also plenty of killer main feedback who recognised how unhealthy that big of a nerf would be, and gave feedback saying as such. It's over on the PTB feedback sub-forum. Players can kick up a stink but that doesn't mean the devs should ignore the very feedback that they asked for when putting changes to a PTB.
Also, there were numerous killers posting here about review bombing the game when Eruption was getting nerfed, and the devs ended up reverting it a bit. Did they cave in because of complaints? or maybe they just took everything on board as feedback?

Nobody can win 600+ in a row as a killer or even 100+, Jesus.
Where is this information coming from?
Content creators. You can find their win streaks online. SupaAlf is, at last check, at a 555 winstreak with Nurse.

Was the 2 difference incentives recent or like last year? I've noticed last year it was basically always 100% for the side it was on and now it seems to actually fluctuate. With the HUD I noticed killer would actually see the incentive during the day and those are usually the times where I could sit in a q. 100% on killer should be going right into a game since the survivors are there and just waiting for a killer.
Recent. I used to just play survivor on Switch and killer (Demo) on PS5 every now and then, but recently started playing survivor on PS5 too so I'm on there more now. On the Switch I rarely ever see killer incentive unless it's like 9.30pm, whereas on the PS5 I'll randomly throughout the day get a killer incentive. I assumed low MMR needs killers more than mid MMR.
-
Killers who don't camp or tunnel won't suddenly start, because they know they dont need to. So if you like camping then keep camping, don't need to justify it.
-
Yeah it's kind of frumpy. They're normally pretty on point with cosmetics but this one doesn't bring joy
-
I wouldn't call it hell, I'd simply call it the weakest role in the game. Coordinated 4man swfs would be the strongest. There's only so far that your own skill can take you in solo queue. Your escape rate (ie getting out through the exit gates) is very highly dependent on the actions of your team mates. You could play perfectly but a few mess ups from your team mates can undo all of your progress and contribution. There's a reason killers often request the ability to identify swfs in lobby so that they can dodge them. They know exactly what solo queue is like. We all know exactly what solo queue is like.

That's interesting. I'll get 100% on a role and wait minutes sometimes for the queue to pop. Peanits talked about how the mmr system is basically a bell curve, so the vast majority of players sit in the middle. Unless there are something weird going on with the system I don't understand why 100% incentive on a role is still requiring time to find players for the other side. 100% would imply there is a large need for that role and you should never have wait times.
I actually don't get long queue times at all, even when the incentive is on the other side. I reckon longest I've had to wait is like 30s but I'll pay better attention now to timing. I can't remember queue times ever being an issue the entire time I've played but I've seen people say before that there were periods of time where they'd wait like 5+ minutes. I'm glad I never experienced that.
-
@Trollinmon said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3394732#Comment_3394732
The system doesn't take into account mmr. What ever side has less overall players is when it goes to that side. This is very apparent on the fact that you can never have both sides have it pop up and yet you can still have long queue times even when it is at 100% aka your mmr bracket needs the other side instead.
I'm pretty sure it still takes MMR into account. I play on both Switch and PS5. Have a couple years progress on Switch and would say its firmly mid-MMR, but still low MMR on PS5 as I didn't play on it much until recently. I get different incentives on each one despite them being in the same house, same region.
-
I have to try and dig up the screenshots but I had a game once with someone with the username Mathieu Cote (obviously not actually him) but the funny part was he was playing with 2 bodyguard Aces (with tuxedo and sunglasses). They ran around protecting him all game and dying for him.

Then at least let me know when I'm against a SWF lobby so I can dodge it. Let someone else go against that nightmare. But forcing me to play at a huge disadvantage against a group that basically gets all the info perks for free, and then some, is just brutal.
Why? If higher MMR killers dodge swfs then all low and mid-MMR solo survivors will end up getting these killers who will steamroll them. How is that fair and not putting others at a disadvantage?

Stop using "solo" as a synonym for "silly". If the player is inexperienced/silly/useless, this is not a solo problem. This is his personal problem.

"No variety on survivors"? Bro, u must be kidding. I wish i have 10 build slots to quick change all my builds. 4 boons, chase build, cleanse totems build, lockers build, super speed healing build, genrush build, altruism build, stealth build, second chances build, midchase disappear build, anti-camping build, sabotage build. Do i need to continue? Big truth is most survivors only want to run 4 second chances and can't be good at the game without it, since only survive with it.
Variety on survivors is a hundred times bigger than on killers.
I have literally seen nothing but complaints from you on this forum. You want to talk about inexperience and personal problems, when you're the one clearly having a hard time.
Fact is, nerfing COH self-healing gives valuable time to killers particularly when facing solo players. Nothing incorrect about that. Maybe look at the post I was replying to for context?

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3393667#Comment_3393667
My question here is.. why do survivor perks need something worth to be running for? Theme with killers have been to destroy their perks so they won't be used anymore. So why can't they do the same for survivors? This new CoH is almost as broken as the old one. I can see it becoming an issue again. They were too scared to go through with the DH nerf so they ..balanced it. Making it so we will again see 8 DH in 1 match.
So answer why can't they give the survivor perks that are clearly overused and overperfoming the same treatment they have given killers?
Point to these metashake ups is to make killers and survivors use different perks, but obviously it only affects killers since survivors will just continue using the same perks as they do now.
I mean, they did. In the 6.1 update. That update occurred because of ongoing complaints from killers about a lack of perk variety among the survivors they face. They were correct of course - most survivors usually a ran a combo of DH, DS, UB, IW, etc. So the devs nerfed a bunch of them, and it worked - ive seen much more variety among survivor builds since.
They changed things up on the killer side too but that was clearly for the better, as that's where the pretty successful gen regression meta came from. Most killers I faced started running it because they had better results. So we went from no variety on survivor builds to no variety on killer builds. And BHVR is obviously trying to do away with these meta builds. I don't think anyone could deny that had they not reverted some of these healing nerfs, that a new meta would have emerged on both sides (anti-healing builds from killers and healing and/or gen builds for survivors) thus going against everything BHVR have been trying to do with these overhauls in the first place.
