I'm a solo player and I'll do this if it's my last game of the night and the killer has just left me slugged to find the other survivor. It's nothing personal, I'd just like to go to bed.
-
DC sure, but disagree on the bleeding out. I think more players should actually be aware that bleeding out doesn't count as an actual kill to the game (ie doesn't affect MMR either) because then we'd probably see less BM bleed out scenarios.
-
Because endgame is supposed to be neutral and purely a means to an end. Everyone is gone, you're the only person there, and presumably the killer has nowhere else to go and nothing else to do except move to the next game. Giving you that chance of escape is unlikely to change the outcome of the match in any significant way, except in a tiny handful of specific situations. It just prolongs it. Having a perk you didn't get value from sucks but it happens to everyone at one point or another.

I can hardly recognize who is who, outside of some obvious ones like Claudette. Like who is the woman with Plague?
Yun-Jin I'm pretty sure
Edit: no Yui actually. The nose gives it away

It'll be fine

Demo. And Zarina and Sheva.

As a survivor main, I honestly don't feel like I escape from this map to any higher degree than the others. The infinite building is very strong, and alot of killers are smart and won't let their time get wasted so they'll find someone else to chase, but no survivor is hanging out there 100% of the time. I'll certainly get caught out somewhere else eventually.

How's this for Gen Placement? She covered 3 gens with 2 drones. Was 4 until we got the one near shack done. No way we could escape this match.
This was a gen placement from awhile ago in a SM game lol to her absolute credit though, she didn't do the 3 gen strat even though it was the perfect set up. She's only in the area because I finally got matched with a good solo team that was determined to pop one of these gens just in case. She had a chase build and got a 3k (4th got hatch). It was really the only SM game I enjoyed.
-
Honestly, I think the average DBD player is just not very good at the game. Even if SBMM were more strict, the pool of bad players is bigger than the pool of decent players. I feel like there's always gonna be one or two on the team.
-
None of it bothers me. It's people behind a screen clicking buttons. Maybe they've just had a bad day or something, I'm not gonna take it personally. But I also certainly never do it to other people.
-
I honestly never get basement Bubbas, so it wouldn't bother me once in a blue moon. Nothing wrong with having a laugh.
-
@bm33 said:
They've said before they use SBMM now because it has clear win/loss.
If you're a survivor and you die you lost, if you escape you won.
As killer each survivor is treated as a separate win/loss in the match. If you have 2k/2e you have 2 wins and 2 losses.
Ignore the people messaging at the end, they're just being sore winners/losers that'd rather try to rile some stranger up after the match is over instead of moving on to the next round.
It's a bit deeper than that SBMM wise, per the devs, as it also comes down to your opponents MMRs. If you kill a survivor with a lower MMR than you, then your MMR isn't affected as the game expects the better/higher MMR player to win. Likewise if a higher MMR survivor escapes against a low MMR killer. So that also impacts on how the game determines and rewards wins.
-
DS is a perk, and basekit BT is a basekit mechanic. Also the devs have said before that endgame doesn't favour anyone, it's just a means to an end. It's supposed to be neutral, certainly not killer sided.

Hook bubble transparency. Kindred doesn’t always show the killers aura for the first second or so, which is enough for some killers to be out of the radius in time. Not only auras, but it physically blocks you from seeing killer hurtling towards you after hook.
I'm sure this was a bug that just never got fixed... it used to be transparent, about a year ago it changed

I just commit to a gen. Either gen gets done or I'm quickly killed and off to a new match, hopefully not against another SM.
This. I just stick to a gen, dgaf about being Exposed. Either the gen gets done or she hooks me and I get to move on. Win win.
-
I said as much when everyone was carrying on about it lol people who play very little survivor, or not at all, aren't the best judges when it comes to what will be popular. It was the same with Fogwise. People were losing their minds over that one too.
-
Camping and tunnelling has always been a thing. They're probably the most complained about topics I've seen since I started playing this game. The gen kick meta got nerfed but in exchange there are more survivors playing injured, so on average chases should be quicker.

I mean if none of the devs thought that people would use her kit this way when it's basically BUILT to be used to 3-gen, that would be worrying indeed and would show they know nothing of their own game.
I choose to believe they intended her to be a strong 3-genner.
According to their video they intended her to be a hunter/tracker. I feel like a 3 gen killer doesn't equal a hunter/tracker.

How do you know it’s related to DLCs only and not cross progression generally?
afaik we do not have that detailed info..
I don't know that it's "only" regarding DLCs, but from previous announcements they've made it seem that's the case. They haven't exactly addressed non-DLC progression, hence OPs question doesn't hurt to ask.
"The most recent comment from the team also came in January 2022, when Justin the Product Manager spoke of the issues, saying:
“So we put out a statement a few months ago but with all the technical aspects beyond our control, transferring DLC between platforms has not really been possible. We’re aiming to deliver the best, most consistent cross-progression experience we can, but unfortunately I’m not able to provide a clear ETA on when we can expect it for the Switch. We’re still trying to get things sorted out and as soon as we have a more concrete date to share, we’ll let you guys know.”
Does Dead By Daylight have cross-progression 2022? The answer is a little more complicated than you think. -
That's because of issues regarding DLCs, which they've covered a few times. OP is asking about non-DLC cross progression
-
I'm pretty sure the community is doing this to itself with all the lobby dodging/shopping that goes on. The game prioritises wait times over skill matching at that point and less experienced killers get put as backfill against coordinated swfs, and less skilled solo survivors get backfilled in against higher skilled killers, and so on
-
You've got more patience than I do for a 50 min game. My limit is 20 min and even that's generous apparently since I'm yet to be the first to give up and go next.
-
If that were my username I'd have found it pretty funny lol weird they took it so badly
-
Yes, agree completely. I recently changed platforms and the process would be alot less tedious if I could carry across at least some of my progress. My items, cosmetics, prestige levels, etc. If the DLCs are too complicated at this stage then that's fine, but surely we could get some of the smaller stuff.

Inner strength was bugged at one point where you could use it more than once after cleansing one totem. That's not game breaking, but it got killed switched right away. Using a perk that regresses your gen close to zero right away (used a lot by doctor which made it harder to do that skill check) is not game breaking, but didn't get killed switched at all. That inner strength locker I'm sure cost a few killer games, but MS cost a few survivor games I was in. It was bugged and they waited forever to fix it and didn't kill switch until then.
MS also affected the team as a whole, while IS only affected the survivor who had it. So I'd argue survivors were far worse off ultimately. And my issue isn't that EoC is killswitched - it absolutely should have been, it's the right call. But there's an inconsistency here.

He's also an accessibility nightmare.
Nightfall gives me awful headaches to the point where I genuinely don't want to play.
I pretty much become useless during Nightfall. I like Dredge but just take my headphones off during Nightfall. Definitely his biggest downside imo
-
I'm fine with original chapters, and I enjoyed last year's anniversary. Knight's release was meh and the less said about SM the better, but that doesn't mean every original chapter is a bust.

Cakes are made to be shared
-
I prefer outdoor maps but I also think variety is important. It would have been cool if they repurposed Hawkins
-
It sucks that happened, but honestly best thing is just shake it off and move on. These sorts of players are a minority, but actually why I think a limited block list would be handy (like a limit of 6 people or something, to avoid abusing it). It's bad manners but ultimately it's just a game. Don't let them live rent free in your head.

Yes and no.
It is the goal and you can do it but you won´t get much points for that.
The most points you get for all kinds of interactions like repairing, totems, saving, chasing, healing. Doing all of this is like the game is intentional designed. Therfore you need all of this to level up.
But you can simply ignore all of this and only do gens as fast as possible -> Gen Rush.
Some players want to do this and some not.
This is the same thing that the killer also should engage with all survs. This would work if the survs also do all of the stuff.
But as @DyingWish92 said if one side is speeding up, the other has to react. So, more gen rushes, more killers try to tunnel someone out asap to buy time -> survs try to repair faster because the killer tunnels... and so on
I feel like the problem is that most survivors (especially solo survivors) have such a poor escape rate, that anything other than sticking to a gen feels like throwing the game. For example, you often hear people talk about team mates "throwing the game" for Rift challenges. Some absolutely do this intentionally, but others (like myself) try to complete them slowly if necessary so as to not screw the team over. But the reality is, not sitting on a gen makes your team view you as useless.
Content creators don't help either. I watch streamers sit there yelling, asking why their team mates aren't on a gen or carrying on if they see someone is opening a chest instead. Everyone wants to have a win sometimes, but if it's not happening often then you're going to ignore every objective that doesn't help and only focus on what does.

hook suicide has no reason to stay. afk is against rules. giving up/throwing the game is against rules. sandbagging is against rules. working with killer is against rules. hook suicide is used to dc but cheat the penalty. there are no valid arguments to keep it.
Bottom line is that BHVR want people to play their game. Even the people that let go on hook or DC. They won't get rid of it.
-
I feel like it'd be good to have a limited block list. Like up to 6 people that you can avoid getting matched with.

I’ll be honest: If I start the match with heartbeat (happens every ~5 matches) and I get downed within seconds ingame I don’t wanna play. I don’t even try when the killer directly chases me 2 seconds after spawning. I can’t remember spawning literally next to the killer was a thing in the past. Last week I had a match where I saw the huntress in the camera animation at start. Nah thanks.
Yeah the camera hadn't even finished spinning at the start of a game once when I got a bottle to the head by a Pinky Finger Clown. He then stuck to my ass for the rest of the game after that bit of luck. I didn't duck out but damn if it wasn't one of those tempting moments.
-
Think the goal was to get her to move away from guarding her 3 gen. Making her faster encourages her to chase survivors.
-
The 6.1 update happened because killers complained about lack of variety in survivor builds. They were correct - most survivors ran some combo of DS, DH, IW, UB, etc. So to me, they were simply doing the same thing once again but on the killer's side. I can't speak for everyone but there was 3+ months there where I rarely saw any variety in killer builds. I'm seeing a bit more variety now though. The self healing nerfs means more survivors playing injured, meaning chases have a higher potential to be shorter. So I think the intent was to encourage chase builds and not just gen regression.
-
I mean, it's a nice change of pace from the gen kick meta
-
I think it'll always be divided opinion. A map that's good for one killer can generally be bad for another. Mother's Dwelling is my favourite, purely for aesthetic reasons. I love the trees and rain and just general atmosphere.
-
If there's 2 of us left with multiple gens to go, I'd like to just move on
-
I don't have an issue with it. I pick and choose what I spend my money on, nothing is compulsory to pay for (except base game obviously). For a game that updates as often as DBD does, not to mention the costs of licenses, resources, and employees, I think their monetisation is fine personally.

The review issue is pretty much a review bomb by survivors who did the same on other platforms as well as on twitter or other media.
There were killers on this forum calling for review bombing when Eruption was nerfed. That it's a survivor issue is bs.
-
I enjoyed Dredge's chapter last anniversary, i thought it was decent despite everyone (including myself) predicting a licensed chapter. I never have high expectations but I like to give the benefit of the doubt for each chapter. Knight and SM were both disappointing but that doesn't mean the next one will be
-
Dredge for me. Shame I don't see him much

Just do what everyone else does and immediately give up when you realize it's a Skull Merchant. Going next is always preferable to playing against a Skull Merchant. Survivor rewards are so low that there is absolutely zero reason to ever waste your time playing against her.
Yup. You'll get the same amount of bp from a 10/15 min game with any other killer. No point wasting 30+ mins.

I rather 100 games of Nurse or Blight in a row than a single Skull Merchant game
I actually love going against Nurse haha so sign me up if it means never seeing another SM
-
As a solo player? No. Not because I can't play injured (I can) but because my team mates usually can't. I've offset this by equipping We'll Make It and Bond, so I can try keep everyone healed up and reduce the likelihood of them hiding all game. Because as much as I'd like to think they'll sit on gens, I know better.
-
I'm okay with him. I do see him alot, but I usually just groan out loud and get on with it. It's better than the month he was released at any rate. I don't think I saw a different killer for 2 weeks straight lol
-
I don't use it for your stated reason - I can't use it on its own. I'm not that good at hitting great skill checks.

Keep in mind that survivors dying most of the time may very well be the intended result. We could be thinking about the game very differently as players than the devs think of it. The devs might view the game as a horror experience against a powerful killer. Players often view it as a PVP game that happens to be asymmetrical and contains horror themes. There's a key difference in viewpoint there.
I agree. I think it's by design. The problem in that though is it probably doesn't bode well for retaining new players, which is necessary for a game's ongoing survival. Unless the game is on its last legs or DBD2 is on the horizon? Who knows
-
Peak was the RE chapter. It was crazy popular (hence why we got a second one). They simply didn't manage to retain the numbers.
