  • I was lucky and had an OP team of friends carry me a few prestige levels on some characters when I first started out, taught me how to not use Premonition, Sprint Burst, Spine Chill, Self Care (with botany), and other notification perks when I first started... that didn't last because I still use them to this day because why not. ☺️

  • I've been experiencing this lately also, in fact I just had a Mikaela constantly follow me around with the killer trailing her behind trying to get me down. She would knock pallets down to block me, alert the killer where I am with fast vaults, etc. I didn't even do anything wrong, I know she came with a friend because their names were very similar so maybe she was upset that her friend was killed and just wanted to ruin my match too and the killer went along with it for the extra points. It took me 10 minutes to do everything I can to survive and it wasn't even worth it.😂 Unfortunately I don't think this will ever go away, it's just something that's gonna have to be lived with and hopefully your next match is a better one with normal players. I can't think of a single solution that can be made for this issue.

  • It depends on if I'm doing a rift challenge to escape, or if the killer is camping.

  • Someone created these characters, you would probably have to track down the original creators (With Jeff The Killer, no one knows who created it, it dates back to old archives in Japan in the early 2000s) and ask their permission. He would I think be the scariest killer to me though... 😬

Ya know, for all the people that rag on self-caring, I've seen enough teams all go down due to not healing that I feel like most of them are just being doofuses. Sure, these days I definitely wouldn't recommend bringing it without botany knowledge, and that perk now lifts its weight in team heals, but still, imo, a healed player is better than a wounded one.

Now self-caring in the corner to the exclusion of all else? Fair enough. But that's not really self-care's fault, to my mind, it's the player. Especially since you're going to heal substantially faster if you just let someone else patch you up.

I bring it in the instances no one wants to heal me and just rush gens, I also use it endgame when I end up being the last survivor. I definitely know when to and when not to use it.

  • @Wowie said:

If I'm playing killer and I see someone using self-care I usually just hit them and let them leave because I know they'll be doing nothing for the next 30/45 seconds. It's better in most cases to run around injured and do gens or totems.

I'm not a confident looper, and I don't take the risk that the rest of my teammates used up every single pallet. Like I said, I don't heal every time I get hit.

    Bring a med-kit.

    Or bring CoH.

Every player I've seen using Self-Care since it's nerf have been found sitting in or near corners Healing.

Well I don't do that, like I said already, I also don't have Mikaela.

dont let anyone tell you what perks you cant use

I mean, if they're clearly bad perks like "Up The Ante", "Wake Up", or "No Mither", then I understand the criticism because they don't do much for you in the end.

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

one thing that i'm happy for is that all these self-care users can now use self-care+hyper focus+this is not happening. finally they'll be useful teammates that can press m1 on gens and press m1 on healing without giving the killer free 4k's.

That's the thing, my build is Self Care, Botany Knowledge, Resilience, and This is Not Happening. It's one of the pretty efficient builds that I use I think.

  • @Pulsar said:

Because it's usually better to not heal at 35% speed than to heal.

Well I use botany with it so it's actually a lot faster than that.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/342052/why-do-i-get-bullied-for-using-self-care

Its a hit to team efficiency, as your time self caring is a large portion of time you're actively not participating on gens, in a chase, or otherwise progressing the match. Its still a very valid perk, but its usage often reduces your impact on completing objectives. DBD seconds can be extremely relative depending on what else is occurring in the match, which is something thats always important to remember as either side. Knowing when and where to use it mitigates a good chunk of all of that.

Basically they're being jerks for being rude about it, but there are reasons teammates might prefer if you used more efficient healing methods

Idk if you can get more efficient than using botany knowledge since not only does it speed up healing on myself, but me healing others as well. And it's not like I crouch in the corner every time I get hit and use it, I usually use it most endgame if I'm the last one standing.

  • @TheArbiter said:

I mean are you not using botany knowledge with it? Because if not I can understand why your teammates would be upset

I do run botany with it, sorry I forgot to mention that. Especially knowing that, idk why anyone would have a problem with it. Then again, idk why anyone would be upset anyway when they decide not to heal me in the first place.

  • I actually really enjoy going against Pinhead. I love the killers who allow you to interact with an item in some way, The Pig with the reverse bear traps, The Onryo with the video tapes, Freddy with the alarm clocks... etc. In this instance, Pinhead with the puzzle cube... it makes the round feel much more interactable 🙂

Are the old basement challenges still bugged?

They're very hard to do, but I managed to get them done

  • Unfortunately, the best situation you can make out of a killer camping is go do your objective unbothered. If it's you on the hook, I guess you'll just have to move on to the next game. This will be a problem though if survivors abuse Reassurance and just keeps you there while being camped, I think that's when Reassurance will be looked at again.

  • @Grum said:

It would be cool if you could do multiple challenges at the same time like virtually every modern game featuring challenges like these.

I 100% agree with this! Like any other MMO game, you get a quest list

  • Has anyone else also not gotten the Garden of Joy without a map offering ever? I'm not sure if that's a bug or my luck but I've just noticed that while looking up map addons. I actually really like that map.

  • I personally the original strongest perk was Iron Will (before it was nerfed), rendered survivors completely silent when they were injured. The new nerfed version of 75% is good too, but not to the point that it is a staple in my perk loadout anymore.

  • @ShinobuSK said:

Yea but I finished all of them now and I need more :(

Every single one?! Even tome 12 level 3? Wow what a completionist, nice 😄 Time go to back to regular ol' dailies lol

  • I do if the last survivor played well and was not acting cocky or rude towards their other teammates 🙂

  • I agree that there are way too many of them in the bloodweb, I have STACKS of them, but I don't use them because I like the randomness of it. It teaches you to adapt to any map you come across and I think that's very helpful.

  • Ever since I've started playing online games, I've experienced some sort of trash talking in some way, my first experience was when I was playing this game (I don't know if naming it is against the rules so I won't), when I was 7. I was pretty bad at it ngl, and my clan mates started calling me all these bad words for basically screwing them in our first clan war. I was so sad, I actually quit, but then I realized a few days later after I "quit", "words are just words", and they can't do real damage to you especially since they don't know you personally. So I started playing again and just got better at the game. Unfortunately name calling and trash talking are just apart of online game life and I realized that a long time ago. Random people behind a screen furiously typing at their keyboards should not personally affect you, and you shouldn't let them.

  • If you want a better chance at finding rare items, you could use a luck offering

Would make sense, but ive been running fixated after that otz video, has been making my pinhead games much easier to face

I might try that next lol Pinhead is annoying

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

What makes it goon on pinhead? i suppose making survivors walk?

Chaining them where they are I suppose, gets you a free down if you're lucky

  • At first I was on BVHR's side about the prime skin initially because I just thought they were trying to give returning players a chance to catch up on their cosmetic wardrobe, but now this is getting kind of ridiculous... you gift people a skin that most already have... and they can't give the codes to people who don't have it or else they will be banned on the forums so they're basically out of a prime reward for the month :/ seems kind of selfish behavior and an avoidable situation to me.

  • The answer I think is quite obvious, because we like to play it still, we don't take it as seriously. My question to you is, why question why others like something and try to bring their mood down about it by trashing on it. We don't want to stop giving BVHR money because we actually like the game and and want it to improve, and we don't rage when things don't go our way in matches

No you're not, but you're also one of the people who prevents a lot of 3-4Es because of your mindset and priorities. Escaping is 5k points and being able to keep your item, thats it. You can do more to assure your survival with info perks while also being able to better keep everyone else alive at the same time, Kindred, Windows, and Empathy all do more to give you a chance at survival than stuff like giving up on the match and playing for hatch because its starting to go in the killer's favor. I'm not saying you should never take hatches or anything like that, just that it should not be the priority. Hell, you can sometimes get more than that 5k in a single chase vs the killer when things are looking unwinnable to begin with. All it really takes are some chase time and like 2 pallet drops.

I feel people put way too much weight into whether they survive the match or not, like their character dies for real if they don't escape or something. Maybe they just absolutely hate the entity sounds and animations when you die. It just always seemed weird to me when the only thing the game really gives you for it is allowing you a chance to actually get survival points when are they going to fix this stupid category to not be so ass.

My perk loadout always consists of Alert, Kindred, Windows, and Empathy, my escape rate has never been higher and I've never earned as many bp in matches before. I recommend this combination of perks for anyone to try!

  • Legion - I hate mending and they constantly know where you are if you find someone else

Plague - I hate coughing and throwing up throughout the match so I can just be 1 shot

Blight - Too many people play him! He's boring now...

  • Isn't that what teammates are for? The smartest thing to do though would be for both of you to work together, 99% the gen, and then heal them. Can't communicate that so, I would just get the bloodpoints for healing them and just do it, or bring the healing boon perk for everyone

In that case I agree. I just don’t like doing it through another exclusive offer instead of just putting it in the shop so everyone can enjoy it

Some people don’t like subscription services so it kinda sucks having this as a way to get it instead of simply buying it in the shop

I agree with that too, but who knows, maybe they will end up putting it in the shop for shards, but people threatening to sue BVHR on the forums is very aggressive and I think those people need help

  • @bm33 said:

They should've put this outfit in the shop for iri shards like other rift cosmetics not part of the prime gaming exclusives. At the very least they should've made the outfit a recolor so everyone with Prime could get it (not only those that did not grind the rift) or for those that already owned the outfit made it so they could atleast get iri shards equivalent to the cost of a purple outfit.

I do believe that should've been an option, but I just don't think the devs deserve this amount of hate for something they are trying to do for other people :/

  • @Phasmamain said:

I think the problem many have is that Rift cosmetics come to the store eventually but this one might not now that it’s a prime reward

They are complaining because it's supposed to be "exclusive" and all to themselves once they earn it, that's why people had a problem with everyone getting the old ultra rare outfit pieces because the people who received them later didn't "rightfully earn them", I just think that's a selfish thing to complain about. Other people's happiness matters too.

  • Can't we be grateful for something?

  • I mix and match perks all the time and I still level up and have fun. I don't follow the strict, you have to have this type of perk build, anymore. I bring what I want, do what I want (while being an asset to the team of course), and no one says anything bad to me. Then again if you play with console players like me 24/7 they can't say anything to you anyway! Just do what you want in the game and have fun while doing it, you paid for it after all :)

You're not supposed to "hide and seek" there's literally a killer (doc) that can find you anywhere on the map, like...what?

Well for survivors at least, that's probably why they nerfed Iron Will because being 100% silent made it honestly a little too easy to hide from killers. That change I can agree with, and I'm a survivor main, it makes the game more interesting and forces you to engage with the killer more often, making you better and more experienced in chases.

  • Unfortunately I fall for this often... I think that a new outfit that comes out could be my "good luck outfit" and it never is.😂😅🤭 A new outfit does however makes me feel "new and fresh", so it always feels good going into a match looking new and different, I just hate how expensive it is. That's how I am anyway lol

this worked for me i just had to copy the first url from the vid and that takes you to the page to redeem, thanks a lot for this

Glad the video could help :)

  • It takes a lot of practice to become knowledgeable about the new changes with the survivor side and the killer side of this game that are constantly happening. Learning the new maps, the new perks that come out and their occasional changes, the new killer powers... all of it is part of the experience. Also, escaping does not mean winning, you can still die and gain a lot of bloodpoints because you were helpful to your team. Who cares if the killer hits you and hooks you a couple times, that gets you more points for interacting with the killer and gives you more practice on how to engage in chases for longer. I've accepted a long time ago that the majority of DBD killers are better than me and I'm always expecting to die every time lol but it's not stopping me from trying to have fun. It is hard sometimes but once you practice more and become more confident in your gameplay, and accept that some players are just more skilled than you, you're sure to have a lot more fun!

  • Sorry you guys are having this problem, it worked for me earlier today. I followed this video step-by-step and it worked, maybe you guys should try following it in case you missed a step?

    What's there to practice.

literally only new people and content creators are intristed in this chapter you have 4 almost 5 pages of feed back on this page almost unanimously agreeing that trickster is garbage.

Been playing him all day in pub and have yet to get a 4k but I play 1 huntress game 3 dead at 4 gens I let the last one escape.

Yeah... he is definitely a killer for newer players. I have only gotten killed by the Trickster once out of 5 games and that's because he was always near the hook until I died

I ran into several on console, some have bought cosmetics, but I sense that's going to dry out reeeeal fast unless they find some cheese strategy.

So, aka, he's F tier and you're someone who plays mostly Survivor, right?

Yeah, I play mostly survivor, and unfortunately no one is playing Trickster atm as I can see today, I have only ran across one so far and that was the first game I played. Maybe people are practicing in private lobbies instead

  • Omg if he was a survivor, that would be amazing!

  • I think he is honestly fun to play against, I see killers are already learning new perk combos to make him even better and it's looking pretty good. I've only played him one time and found him quite frustrating to play as survivors easily can dodge these knives and Main Event isn't the best skill a killer could have... he is quite fashionable though 😉👍️

Not even if you still get a chance to DS? At most you're losing 43 struggle bloodpoints. Then it's purely a matter of animations, and finishing the match a bit quicker.

Well, since the killers don't need to pick you up when you get mori'd there is no chance for DS

  • I just don't think that a mori of any kind should be basekit, that's just my opinion... @ me if you want but once again, it's just my opinion
