I feel like you misunderstood the original post. The OP isnt asking for both parties to be protected by BT.
Ya, he just can't read very well LOL

No.
BT used to activate for both parties when it was used, and was beyond broken. If they do this, they bring back the grey screen and bleedout time that you had to heal away with self care or a medkit. (Or another person of course.)
I don't think you read/understood what I wrote.
I'm saying BT should work on the person getting unhooked if they are running it. BT should only activate on the person getting unhooked, I'm not suggesting they revert it.
-
I edited a typo.
Unfortunately people keep making the same dumb comments by not understanding the title and then not reading my comments regarding the post (comment 5 and 11) so I'll try to explain it (HIGHER UP ON THE PAGE) with this edit:
Borrowed time should only work on the person getting unhooked, If you have the perk borrowed time in your loadout and you are getting unhooked you give yourself borrowed time.

Ah..now I understand a few things..I'd recommend you stop before you just do yourself harm
You really don't understand, as Onyx said you gotta get your head out of you know where because you quite frankly have no idea what your talking about. Try not to hurt yourself too much thinking about it. :)

Buddy I've kept spirits on the line for very long periods of time..see you only use examples of stuff any killer can do..if the window is a 50 50 for spirit then any other killer could go around too..in which case spirit risks missing a swing by blinding herself to phase..so in that regard your using a t wall as a point of spirit but that tile is the same for every killer, therefore..your point has no weight to it
Go to bed hahaha.

I'd recommend playing the game for a while before you make a statement like that..more likely you'll be taken seriously , so! Your one of those who run in a straight line from her and just..well..die because you were being predictable , you see a while back they removed collision from phasing spirits, this way theres more mind games available via doubling back and being unpredictable, you can also fake pallet drips by not going through them before dropping and windows can be double vaulted as well, these have been proven effective methods for mind games and making the spirit have to make better reads in turn..do these things and you'll find spirit is given a bad rap by those who dont think outside the box
I realize you equated picking 1 side over another at a pallet or window as "running in a straight line and dying" you must be pretty dumb to have inferred that from my message LOL.

You're clueless, it's OK, I'll explain it to you.
Survivor perspective: you're running from the killer (spirit in this case), you run up to a window, you have some options, you could fast vault and then slow vault back, you could slow vault it and then walk away, you have "OPTIONS" on how to confuse the spirit on which side you are on but regardless of what you choose the spirit can pick 1 of the 2 sides and they'll pick right half the time. Spirit can find people with sound alone so there's only so much you can do in a chase and no matter what you do any spirit who's learned the initial learning curve of tracking survivors while phasing is going to have a 50/50 shot at guessing right at any tile.

A 50 50 means you can only choose 2 moves..and that's incorrect
Do you know what pallets and windows are in this game? You have to be on one side or another, that's a 50/50. You could just stand in a dead zone and die 100% of the time so ya, I guess that's a third alternative....
-
@Sadsnacks said:
It's difficult enough as it is to use her phasing ability, why does it need to be changed to make it easier for survivors?
It's next to impossible to land a hit using her power even with stridor and predator. If anything she should be given more information when she's in phase mode to help her locate survivors.
I'm sorry but if a killers power is only useful when you're faking using your power then that's super lame. I grinded to get her to level 30 so I could have at least one teachable unlocked from each killer but otherwise I never play her because her power sucks.
Spirit is the second strongest killer in the game and is without a doubt the least interactive killer in the game for survivors to play against, her power giver her a 50/50 at winning ANY TILE and there's nothing the survivor can do to make it not a 50/50.
I don't want you to take this the wrong way because it's not meant as an insult but you have no idea what your talking about and have SO MUCH to learn before coming to these forums to talk about balance.

My teammates (both had very impressive time spend in game) literally killed themselves on they're first hook without even giving us a chance to rescue them.
They got downed, hooked, tried to get themselves off failed and instantly let the hook kill them.
They did not appear to be swf and we were facing a wraith.
Is there a new survivor trend I'm missing?
DbD ranking and matchmaking is literally garbage, people who are terrible at survivor reach red rank and as a solo que survivor I kill myself on hook whenever I see that my teammates are useless and I realize I've been the victim of bad matchmaking.
An example of this would be running the killer for 80-90 seconds, expecting 3 gens to pop just to see that all 3 teammates are crouching around the map and 0 gens have been done. You better believe I'll kill myself and move onto the next game every time I see something like that.

I doubt up votes do anything in terms of making a suggestion more/less valid.
I have seen horrible "bait posts" up voted to legitimate balance ideas. I'm sure the Devs read what they can regardless of up votes.
I didn't say more/less valid, I said "harder to ignore".

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1332698#Comment_1332698
I was right there with you until you posted this conspiracy theory. It's in the devs' best interest to make the game less annoying to play, why would they ignore this? They already added a "Main Menu music" option after it was requested.
The devs system for updating this game is based on where it is on the "PRIORITY" list.
What I'm asking for could never be considered a priority and is simply an easily added QOL change.
That is why the devs would love to ignore it.

Turn headset/speaker volume down.
While I get the annoyance of having to do so its a simple solution.
LOL, No.
That's what everyone already does. There should be a sound option so people don't have to.
-
I don't want to be that guy but, If you agree with the post give it an upvote, the devs would love to ignore as much as they can, if you see someone suggest a positive change give them an upvote and make it harder for the devs to ignore. Once again, this would be a simple addition to the game.

Ormond is actually only 6th largest, so somewhere in the middle.
Ya, and the entire map is full of pallets and strong structures, so it either needs to be smaller or lose a bunch of pallets. Literally the most survivor sided map in the game btw.
-
Ormond needs to be smaller, all farm maps need half their corn removed, Crotus Prenn Asylum needs to lose one of the 2 main building window loops.

what if im being face camped.
What would you like? To die in 10 seconds and have the killer go do the same thing to someone else? Punish the face camp by not dying, the survs can get 3 gens done and then come save you.

They added it to stop dcing not to "make people play the game" you clearly missed the point of what i was saying the OP's idea is basically forcing someone to stay in the game longer then they should that in itself is stupid no disrespect to the op if someone does not want to play in a game they can Either take a 5 minute or they can just simply die on hook it is what it is there's no use trying to continue to punish people its pointless people will always find a way around it.
When a survivor first hook suicides it throws the game for the other 3 survivors, if you want to ruin the match for 3 other people it should take 1 min longer, if you think that's unreasonable then you're the one being "stupid".
-
@MonsterInMyMind said:
You cant force people to play something they dont want to play so no it wont ever happen you can beg and plead but behavior knows better.
LOL, I'm suggesting making killing yourself take an extra minute so the other survivors have that time to sit on a gen.
No one is being forced to do anything other than wait an extra minute when trying to ruin the game for everyone else, seems fair to me.

Simply put it's very unfair that a SV can keep his items + add-ons if they escape, yet a Killer doesn't.
So how about this
2K = keep the first add on in the add on slot
3K = choose which add on you want to keep
4K = keep both add ons
Sounds good?
It's called black ward

Not really. Hatch is kind of a balance thing. The game is basically impossible when it gets down to 1v1. How you get to a 1v1 could be because you're the best in the game or because you're just camping etc, doesn't matter. Hatch changes the gameplay from a hopeless surv just trying to do gens and hide (not gonna happen 1v1) to a race between the two that is actually kind of interesting and exciting. So it's not really a pity mechanic as much as it is a try not to screw someone over mechanic.
Beyond that, the exit gates light up and are huge and easy to spot for both sides. The hatch is much harder to find in comparison with just an audio queue when you are fairly close. Definitely requires more personal effort than just running through the door. And if you consider opening the door (1250 points) it's pretty close to the hatch in total bp gains.
Hatch is a pity escape for the last survivor because gens can't be worked on by teammates if it's 1v1 and you're getting chased, meaning there's no other way to escape. This doesn't change the fact that a lot of people play bad knowing they can escape through hatch after letting their team down. Hatch is necessary, but it should give less points so that people prefer to escape the right way rather than getting a pity escape.
-
@SpookyMeerkat said:

How? By camping hatch or something? If they're paying any attention they would realize that the extra 2k from hatch isn't worth them playing a camp game and gaining no other points. Only thing I find super annoying about it is when the last man in game will search for hatch when the exit gates are open.
I just said when fixing the typo, Hatch is a pity escape plain and simple, it shouldn't give more points, that's it.

Last night on Swamp, I was Bubba. Hooked my 2nd person and there was 1 gen left. Left the hook to look for the others, they jumped in hatch with a key that they took off the first guy that suicided on the hook. “Entity displeased”
I know I said "keys are a different topic" but just to throw it out there, Keys should have an opening animation that takes a few seconds so people can't jump through in the killers face.
-
@SpookyMeerkat said:
I feel like hatch (without keys) can be a more difficult escape with more specific conditions in which it's available. Seems like it should be worth more points
That assumption is wrong, it incentivizes people to play bad all game and get a "pity escape".

I play both sides.
Still the best map in the entire game.
Yes, it's the best map in the game if you only play killer.
If you value good map design and balanced gameplay it's the worst map. That being said there are more survivor sided maps hurting map balance than killer sided, Hawkins lab just happens to be BY FAR the most killer sided map in the game.
-
@NullEXE said:
No.
In my opinion it's the most balanced map, not too many safe loops, and many area's take skill to chase in.

It's one of the best maps in the game.
Hawkins is the worst map, EVERY PALLET IS UNSAFE, LOL. It is BY FAR the most killer sided map in the game, which is fun for killer mains but sucks for people who play both sides.
-
@AntiJelly said:
Look at the patch notes they just dropped. They removed this change.
It should never have been an idea in the first place, a ranking systems only purpose is so people play with and against players of similar skill level, if the matchmaking is so bad that they want to hide the info, that's messed up.
-

I stay in the red as survivor and your point is absolutely ridiculous. Idk if you know this, but ranks 1-20 ALL have to do generators to escape. Gen rushing is just doing the MAIN objective of the game regardless if you like it or not. It's so funny how killer mains have this notion that survivors are suppose to be idiots or not do the main objective that leads to victory. That's not how it works, sorry.
Are you calling me a killer main? LMAO, I actually play very close to 50/50, maybe like 55/45 and the 55 would be survivor so you're just plain wrong.
Ohh and I'm always at red ranks, I can hold rank 1 on both sides.
-
@DBDIT said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/921683#Comment_921683
So if they don't look for Ruin and power through they're gen rushing and if they're looking for ruin you can't find them is that correct? I hate to break it to you but survivors don't have to look for ruin and it isn't our fault. Gen rushing is NOT a thing when it's the main objective for us to get out.
If you think gen rush isn't a thing then you're low rank, if you're low rank your opinion on balance is irrelevant and I hate to break it to you but the main factor for applying gen pressure isn't gen times, it's map design. I simply suggested a good rework for an overused perk.

@Cymer said:
Why not both?
Regular Hex Totem with a timer after destruction.
Like a lingering curse.
20-40s at max would be more than fine.
That's a good idea for the first problem (Ruin gets destroyed too early) But it doesn't help with the second problem (Ruin lasts all game and gens don't get done).
Totem RNG shouldn't determine the game.
-
@SleepyWillo said:
tbh I think that'd make it worse. Ruin is great because people waste time looking for it. If they don't look for it and instead just keep work on gens that'll be a huge nerf
You can't find people on gens if they're looking for the Ruin instead of working on a gen, and you seem to forget that when Ruin gets found a destroyed right away it wastes no time at all.
-
@Herman_CMH said:
in my opinion, it would make the killer side worser than before. As a survivor, I can merely hide for 2 mins until the effect gone and rush gen. it doesn’t help at all
The failure in your argument is that corrupt intervention exists and hiding for 2 mins is doing the killer a favor, having a guaranteed 2 mins of Ruin vs having it destroyed right away is worth it for the killer.
