I just thought it was funny that I was being gaslit about people DCing against nurse and within 5 minutes I had a game where 1 person DCd and 2 people give up against one.

Again: I don't see how being told "people DC if a game isn't going their way" is the same as "I just got told DC against Nurse is a hoax"

In more than half my games against nurse, people give up at some point, whether it be instantly or later in the game. I have already started seeing it in some legion games, only when they run thana. I played a plague game a few weeks ago that lasted almost 30 minutes, I was begging her to kill me by the end. People dc all the time sure, I'm not going to argue that. But, at some point you have to acknowledge that its because a killer isn't fun to play against and do something about it.

    Edit: Here's a game I played 4 minutes ago.

People DC against every killer for something as simple as they got found/downed first. I guess survivors going down isn't fun, we should change that.

Also I don't see how being told "people DC if a game isn't going their way" is the same as "I just got told DC against Nurse is a hoax".

I've had people DC against a Wraith, Pig, Myers, Doctor, and Clown. By your arguments: that's because they're OP and unfun. Also apparently they're on the same level as Nurse now?

I don't think that holds up. People DC just because they got upset at whatever they feel like.

ex. Eh I don't like stealth killers. Ghostface? DC. Wow the devs should really nerf GF.

People not wanting to play against op killer's is irrelevant? That's an interesting take.

Legion, Pig and every killer is OP? That's an interesting take.

Feel free to screen shot this when the community starts dcing every legion game.

The community DC's against any killer anyway despite survivors being stronger than 90% of the killer cast. Irrelevant to the argument.

It is already a good strategy for both these killers, and it isn't just 2%. It's 10 seconds extra of generators and 2%, that is a massive difference. Mark my words, this will get out of control very quickly if people abuse it. Currently on live with a fully stacked thana it takes 96 seconds to do a generator. After the patch it will take 110, add pop or overcharge on top of this, good luck winning in a 3 gen scenario.

Define "good", it doesn't make them strong. It's just decent enough to consider bringing unlike other killers.

Like I said, those few extra seconds in an ideal situation isn't going to bring them to Blight levels.

The 10 seconds is universal, not on Thana only. The changes only added ~4 seconds to Thana specifically, oh no DBD is dead, not 4 seconds more on mid tier killers in a ideal situation 😨

3 gens are the survivors fault, pop isn't good anymore, overcharge isn't good anymore after the nerfs. Thana was never good, at best its decent on 2 killers.

The main problem in that scenario is the 3 gen. Which if the survivors 3 gen themselves they deserve to have a very difficult time.

  • The buff was 2% can we stop with the catastrophizing.

Legion and Plague also aren't strong enough killers where a few extra seconds will make them ridiculous, same as before.

The perk wasn't amazing before and 2% isn't going to make it so.

  • Well a killer really shouldn't be getting a 4k just by camping unless the survivors play into it.

Tunneling is a byproduct of the game design and would probably require a whole rework of the way survivors die to change. Like a shared hook pool or something. 1v3 is just a ton easier than 1v4, so getting there asap is the best bet.

That being said, yeah it still sucks from a fun perspective.

Unfortunately the devs seem to be going the opposite direction and be removing reasons for killer's to leave the hook. Nerfing BBQ, Ruin is dead, and gen kicking perks aren't strong enough to justify leaving now with overcharge gutted. There's not really a reason to leave hooks in the next patch, or at least less than the current one.

The way OTR and endurance work, the killer will be punished more for not tunneling than if they did. That's in addition to the hit they are already taking for not tunneling.

I really wish they sufficiently rewarded killers for not camping or tunneling. Spreading hooks around makes the most fun for everyone, but competitively you're shooting yourself in the foot.

  • 3 survivors on 3 gens 10 seconds more than before, 2 on the last 2 10 seconds more. Less if they get stacked on, which they prob will since there's 3 survivors.

Camping got 20 seconds or less not 50.

  • In addition to what others are saying, there's a just a ton of safe tiles/pallets everywhere that you can't even mind game if you wanted too.

Ok what about eruption which will become basically current DMS + PR in one single perk?

And the worst part is that, unlike PR, it's unavoidable because you can't foretell when a team mate will go down. So what's the counter to losing 15% progress + being incapacitated for another 26, while the generator keeps regressing in the meantime, when you have no way to tell when a team mate will actually go down?

Hmm, yet to be seen, a very big downside to Eruption is you need to go kick the gen, potentially multiple, while it has progress (since that's how you know they're working on it and you can't kick a gen with no progress) and then you next chase needs to end before that gen is done.

The problems with Eruption weren't just the numbers, it was also how to activate it. Obviously with PTB teams you'll probably get it off a lot, but in the actual game where good survivors are very safe most of the time and chases can last longer than a gen, let alone finishing an already worked on one, it might not be amazing.

It might be decent, but it might not, I wouldn't say they're "changing the meta to gen kicking" when a lot of other aspects about gen kicking are still trash and we might have 1 decent perk potentially.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3057605#Comment_3057605

CoB will be def meta after update. BHVR is changing meta to kicking gens. Overcharge nerfed but it is still good combo with CoB.

    "changing meta to kicking gens"

    Gutted Pop

    Gutted Overcharge

Base regression is still 1/4th a survivor

Survivors can just tap a gen for .1 seconds to stop all regression while killer has an actual animation commitment

I'm not sure about that one.

Overcharge is trash now, way overnerfed and can be countered by tapping the gen (which is dummy easy). It was already a little overrated, now it's just bad. You regress even slower for 12 seconds.

COB wasn't used before, using 2 perk slots for 2 bad perks that both get countered the same way won't make them meta.

  • I mean, I wish they did more.

Now killers have even less of a reason to leave hooks, all the gen kicking perks are subpar and BBQ is pretty much dead, so what's pushing them to leave a hook now if finding a gen to kick isn't worth and there's no reason to spread hooks now?

More camping and tunneling incoming, esp. with OTR making it worse to spread pressure.

At least OTR got changed for endgame and endurance got nerfed, which was needed imo.

I'm sad they gutted overcharge into worthless tier. It might have needed a change but they went too far (again).

But overall I think the changes are a net positive than before.

  • It really depends.

Having the vast majority of killers be pretty much a loss if the survivors have a brain isn't great for fun.

But if you're playing Nurse or something, in low MMR, or just enjoy the kilter, sure.

Plague? Not viable? She's one of the most solid killers in the game

I mean she's decent, like other A-B tiers, but also like other A-B tiers, actual good survivors will still beat her semi-easily, unfortunately. A few more seconds isn't going to change that.

That's what I mean when I said viable. Remember if we put survivors on the tier list, they'd be S tier. That's why generally S and Nurse tier killers are considered the only ones who can actually go against good survivors.

If you consider Plague S tier that's your opinion, but the general consensus, afaik, is that she's not.

  • Considering both killers aren't viable and a few seconds longer in an ideal situation (a.k.a. with bad survivors) isn't that big a deal, yes I am ready.

  • As someone who plays both, of them, get Pinhead.

I like Sadako aesthetically, but she has absolutely no downing power and her map traversal is limited and RNG based with a huge CD, along with lackluster add-ons.

Pinhead at least has something in chase, you have passive box pressure, and at least your teleport brings you straight to the survivor and facing them, with also mostly lackluster but better add-ons.

  • you can with the overcharge one (unless they changed it) you get the check while running.

  • They're not going to delete it, rework maybe but not delete it. afaik they have never deleted a single perk in the entirety of the game.

The option of breaking boons should be basekit though, getting it as a perk was a really really dumb decision.

  • I think overcharge is kinda overrated. Please remember it can be countered by survs just tapping the gen. Still good, but I don't think S tier at this time.

Prob belongs in A with CoB since they both get countered the same way. Debatable whether its worse or better than CoB due to ramp up.

Ok I should probably just play killer I'm easily frustrated in solo q, what do you guys think of some form of kindred basekit ? I would love to see that change honestly it's not much compared to all killers buffs

I could see kindred without the killer aura working. But I would say just give survivors a ping system.

At the end of the day however, you can't fix "bad at the game".

  • People who blame solo q for everything just aren't that good at the game and have an easy target to scapegoat their losses on so they don't have to take any blame. They also don't improve because they don't see their mistakes and how bad they actually are.

Solo is honestly not that bad usually. Yeah there's bad teammates, but there's also good ones.

  • Good survivors still stomp him, he hasn't really been a threat for me so far.

  • well buffing an already good power is more likely to be busted.

However there's plenty of killers with just bad add-ons like PH.

Overall I'd say its just the dev team not having a clue what they're doing, like most problems.

  • "it barely slow down anything in my opinion."

    This right here, agreed.

  • if these changes go through as is we will see:

    • Endurance meta
    • More tunneling to avoid the endurance meta as much as possible
    • Killers who don't tunnel getting punished by body blocks with OTR and co.
    • More/stronger camping due to BBQ incentive being gone and longer gens
    • Free end game escapes with OTR.

Not looking good to me bois. Hope they make changes before live. There's some good in there, but the bad outweighs it imo. There's also a lot of contradictions with what the devs say they want or why they changed something, and then what they actually implement.

No, its 24 for everyone, at the edge you can still hear a very faint tune and you still see the blue aura, it works similar to how TR works, the closer the higher but you can still hear them at 24 meters and you most definitely can see the blue tint.

Killers don't see the blue aura and its def not 24 meters for them either. If you played killer you should know this.

  • @HectorBrando said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3041425#Comment_3041425

You can hear the boon at 24 meters.

And yes, you are THAT bad, Im assuming this because you cant even pinpoint Boon locations and current CoH is giving this you enough problems you had to come to the forum to demand an absurd nerf. Hell you even have a post like this in your history "Literally eat flashlights, walk right into a pallet stun and chase 1 person the entire game without scoring a single hit. Only way Survivors won't complain but they still will clown on you in Endgame chat for no reason" Really, getting looped for 5 gens and not scoring a single hit? Im sorry but... come on.

You can only hear the boon at 24 meters for survivors, if you played killer you should know its around 8-10 for them. So T1 Myers with monitor TR range. Basically you only hear it when it's already at your feet.

  • 1)) No, she's way too busted. The other side should always have a chance in a PvP game. Otherwise you shoulda just made her in a single player game. It's the same reason why M1 killers need buffs, just on the other side of the spectrum.

    2) No, I just think the balance/map design team has no idea what they're doing and aren't good at the game. There was even an anniversary quote with one of the devs admitting even though they play for hours on end on the same map to test it, they still suck on that map. If that's the case they just aren't good in general.

"If you thought I would be good on certain maps after testing them 8 hours a day for weeks on end... you are wrong". -Lyle Development QA

    3) Objectively you shouldn't. She's the best killer in the game no question so if you want to win she's the win button.

OTR stacking as in the ptb is confirmed unintended. It will just be a self-BT and the meta will be to swing immediately, to then down and tunnel through an inconsequential DS.

Overall, anti-tunnel is arguably weaker than current BT+DS on live. It just doesn't appear like so because PTB is bugged and endurance stacks.

The person you responded to says nothing about stacking, their statement is still 100% valid even with your reply.

Secondly, idk what you mean by saying its been "confirmed as unintended". The only thing I saw was @Peanits saying that If you have both active at the same time they will both turn off. So if you get saved by someone with BT and have OTR, they will both get taken out by the same hit.

However, getting OTR/BT, which then gives you the 3rd stack of mettle, taking the mettle hit, and then using DH for example, is working as intended (as in not bugged).

Not trying to attack you, just trying to get ahead of potential misinformation.

This 4-5 Healthstate-Stuff is so annoying.

Yes, there are videos about it. And those are constructed. How hard do you think is it to get 3 Stacks of MoM? You are throwing the game while doing so.

If you see a video with a Survivor with OTR, MoM and DH ready, yes, those are a few Healthstates. But stuff like this will not happen in actual games.

But I know which streamer is showing those kind of videos and I know he has a huge and vocal fanbase. Obviously this will be a topic...

I only saw the Dowsey and Otz videos. Dowsey at least wasn't manufactured afaik. It can and will happen in normal games.

  • I mean if you wanna nerf map size and loops so other killers have a fighting chance I'll take a Nurse Nerf.

  • I did a good amount of P3 myself, but I really don't like exclusive anything.

  • Hex: Ruin this perk slot

    It's trash.

  • +1 to The endurance effect should also make you lose collision.

Its the same as ds if someone heals you it goes away. Even though its bhvr they arent that stupid.

DS doesn't go away if someone heals you.

  • In regards to the changes at least:

    Survivor:

    Removing:

    • Spine chill, its dead
    • BT, people should be bringing off the record and we have base BT, so its redundant.

    Adding:

    • Off the record, 80 seconds of endurance, even during endgame, is nuts. Free extra health state and Exit.
    • Botany, Hope + NOLB, Distortion or Lucky Break. TBD. Easy recharge now imo, no auras or no scratch marks ect. is pretty good as well as extra healing or running speed. Need to test these out to pick the best one. Lucky break was strong before, now it's stronger.

    Killer:

    Removing:

    • Pop, changing from total to current is a big blow
    • Ruin, dead
    • BBQ, also dead

    Adding:

    • Overcharge, basically the new ruin/better Call of Brine.
    • Maybe Gift of Pain?

Survivors definitely got the better end of the perk changes imo.

  • Yeah I'd rather they not show prestige.

I can already see the "wow you got prestige x what a tryhard", "wow you're prestige x and you lost, you must really be bad", "Wow, you can see we're all low prestige and you couldn't go easy on us? toxic".

Not to mention people not understanding prestige is not matchmaking.

Just let it be a personal achievement.

  • Rare to see but very much still a good/great killer.

He's just unfun to play for most.

Kinda like Hag, you never see her because she's unfun to play, but she's still strong.

  • Yes games are fast enough where you can safe drop all the pallets and probably be fine.

There's 2 viewpoints you can take, either games are too fast, or there's too many pallets. That just depends on how long you want games to be. Changing either would make pallets more valuable again.

  • I'm playing killer and playing chill most of the time, I only go for the kill if the survivor(s) provoke me in some way.

However most survivors are popping flans... then gen rushing and leaving. I just don't see the point in popping them then getting as little points as possible and leaving when the killer isn't going hard on the team and spends 1/4 - 1/2 of the match looking for the invitation.

I'll still end up with a decent amount of BP, but I've seen people end the match with sub 10,000 a lot. Their loss I guess.

  • I prefer killer, survivor is pretty unengaging and easy. But killer is so stacked against and annoying/stressful to the point I just play survivor more.

  • With the amount of Gen rushing happening with iri and purple add-ons+ Items, of course topped with BM and wasting everyone's time at the gate? Nah. I'll wait till things calm down to normal toxic levels.

  • Imo he's still pretty strong and a lot of the community, or maybe just the vocal minority, overexaggerate how weak he is now just because they got used to how dumb some of his old add-ons were (instasaw).

Overheat is a mixed bag for me. On one hand it doesn't really do anything if you're good at the killer and punishing if you're not, so all it's really doing is turning people away from learning him. On the other hand having a Billy fly all over the map constantly checking the gens until he finds someone to then one-shot was one of the most obnoxious things me and my friends had to deal with back in the day, which was made worse by the previous add-on problem.

But it's probably better to just remove it.

Maps have been getting worse for killers in general, it's not just Billy. Unfortunate as that is.

  • Yes in the same vein tunneling exist.

You're doing the objective in the most efficient way.

Killers don't like gens flying, survivors don't like tunneling, but both sides still do it because they want to win.

  • The lock priority when he TPs and his anti-loop being beat by just holding W basically means he's just an M1 killer with limited teleporting. Not great.

  • Counter to Dredge: Leave the loop, hold W

He's far from uncounterable, he's basically an M1 with limited teleport if you do the (easy) counter, which as we've seen with Sadako, doesn't make a good killer.

He'll only be "good" against lower skilled survivors, like most of the roster.

I don't need to address the argument. I know enough about you. You are a bad teammate.

"I don't need to address the argument" A.K.A. "I'm wrong and don't want to Admit it"

Who you think I am has nothing to do with the argument made. I'm sure you think all the others here saying the same exact thing are also "bad teammates". Everyone who disagrees with you must be a bad person right?

But the point still stands, the game gives you no reason to go back and if anything does the opposite. As long as you don't disprove that fact you're in the wrong as far as the topic is concerned.

I'll say this once and I will say it again:

Defending Bad Teammates Tells Me You Are One

And not addressing the argument tells me you don't have a point and are just crying about a match because you didn't like how other people played. Typical entitled survivor thinking they can dictate how other people play but not having anything to back it up.

I will say this once again: I do go back to save, so you're wrong about that too.

  • @_AdamFrancis_ said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2988186#Comment_2988186

Becuas they had every reason to save. Trying to defend bad teammates just tells me that you are one.

What reasons? Like I said the only reason is to be "nice". There's no gameplay reason pushing you to save teammates at that point, you're not sufficiently rewarded for doing it and it's a riskier play that can potentially lose you the match for someone else. MMR is on your escape solely, not the entire teams.

I do go back and save my teammates usually, so you're assessment is also incorrect. I just realize there's literally no actual logical reason to go back in. I just don't like leaving people behind, but that's personal.

So are you actually going to address the argument or continue to try and attack my character on baseless assumptions?

  • No, just unfortunate for the killer that it was that close.

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 45
